Great local place for simple but good food. Breakfast is especially good-I recommend the steak omelette. Our server was good but the one who cashed us out -after we stood there forever- was rude and acted like it was a pain to settle the check.

Love this place ! Wait staff is all amazing ! The food is delicious ! Who can go wrong with a single bisquit smothered in gravy and an order of Hashbrowns with a coffee ! The Hashbrowns are cooked perfectly ! Crispy and yum! The gravy is flavorful and gut filling ! Coffee isn't too strong ! Just right ! Price is where it is at ! Cheap ! Good townie place to go for breakfast !

If you want a local place this is it. The owner is always upbeat and friendly. Most of the eaters have been there before. The breakfast is nothing special but inexpensive. The atmosphere is why you would go. There is an outside patio to eat on in warm weather. A small bar is located there also. Lots of local sport celebrities gather on game days. The dinner specials are outstanding and there is a basic salad bar included with most dinners. I have been there a few times recently. For a long time a place I overlooked.

Fantastic little restaurant right off the freeway in Bloomington. Service was super fast, the prices were unbelievably cheap, and the food tasted great! For $18 (after tax) my friend and I received: One glass of orange juice Two glasses of chocolate milk (no free refills) One small order of biscuits and gravy One short stack of pancakes One breakfast special with two eggs, two pieces of toast, hash browns and three pieces of bacon One breakfast special with two eggs, two pieces of toast, and three pieces of sausage All of the food tasted great, it was all seasoned perfectly, I didn't need to add anything. The bacon was nice and crisp, the toast was toasted correctly...no complaints here! Our waitress was really nice and we were probably in and out within 30 minutes. If you're driving through town, I highly suggest stopping off and eating here!

This place is great. Good, fast service. Good, home style comfort food at reasonable prices. The biscuits & gravy are very good. Actually, breakfast in general is great. I've never gone for any meal other than breakfast. You may have to wait a few minutes for a table on the weekends. It will be worth it and not a long wait. Hang around. I think this place is almost as good as Garden of Paradise for breakfast (good luck getting in there on weekends any more). The only downside here is that it tends to be a bit chaotic, fast paced, and noisy. You can't really consider this place if you like to linger at your table extensively or if you're pokey at deciding what to order. However, you will never have an empty coffee cup.

Fair prices for quality food, specials and breakfast are best. Saturday cheeseburger Special for $3.50 includes fries. Catfish on the weekends is great.

Maybe their breakfast is good, but their dinner was horrible. We were the only people in the restaurant which should have been our first clue. My pork chops were very dry and my partners food was just awful. Maybe we will come back at breakfast because the reviews on here say its good. Don't waste your money on dinner here though.

This would only deserve more stars if you have never eaten at a restaurant before. Tried it for breakfast and had to wait for the privilege. We won't be making that mistake again. On the plus side, it is cheap.

As the quest for Bloomington's best breakfast spot continues, we finally made our way to Times Past Inn. I love locally owned restaurants and strive to support them whenever I can. While Times Past Inn is a good choice, I think there are better options in town. It is a solid choice but just not my preference. Check out my Breakfast List for a review of almost all breakfast spots in town. Positives: - Big omelet from SCRATCH with lots of fresh cut ingredients - Great pancakes (this is very important) - Yeah sugar free syrup - Lots of seating - IWU support! Negatives: - Eggs made right, but lacked flavor - Bacon too crispy so there was no flavor left - Coffee is just ok - No real butter, just substitute stuff - Hashbrowns cooked fine but no seasoning Just plain observations: - Crowd tends to be 65+ - Waitresses are straight forward - Menu has all the basics, nothing fancy

Great breakfast-split sausage is a must. Most of the year they also have fresh blueberries in their pancakes. Outside patio area that is nice all day as long as the weather permits.

I've only been there for breakfast but I have always left both full and satisfied. They have many combinations to choose from or you can mix and match. Eggs always are cooked exactly how I order them, bacon is always nice and crispy and the pancakes could be the best I've had. Service tends to always be pretty solid - the right balance of checking back on your table and leaving you alone. Prices are pretty reasonable and when you factor in the nap after you eat, can't beat it! Always greeted with a smile - I have a feeling that lunch and dinner is just as good as breakfast.

Another long time standing bloomington local...strange hours; some days open for dinner, others not. The salad bar is pretty basic, but good to get your greens. The food was good and served HOT, a BIGGIE for me.

Excellent food, huge portions, very popular local place. Highly suggest the omlettes, but really all of their food is good. House dressing and sausage gravy, especially. Prices are incredibly economical plus there are always 20% off coupons floating out in the community. Waitresses are hit and miss, though. Weekends are insanely busy, and quite often there are upset kids in the place... but it's worth it!
