The proportions for food are smaller than im used to. And the noodles they cook with are thicker, didn't like it. I'm sticking to the one on Butterfield Rd, it's alot better

Been coming here with wifey for about 25 years. I've seen their ups and their downs. But they have taken customer service to a new level. We were waited on by the manager named Kristy who was simply phenomenal. You should be so fortunate to have Kristy taking care of you! Funny, cheery, and very attentive to our needs. We were treated like royalty and the entire meal which consisted only of bread sticks and salad came to a total of $20 including tip! Yeah... This was the best part of my day.

A few things- but first let me premise this review with saying I've never cared for Olive Garden, we had a gift card so we gave it one more try. 1. They have tablet/computer screens at every table that they encourage you to order from and pay with. What has this world come to? I don't need that, and I especially didn't like that it's always lit up and flashing. The lady next to us refused to check out using the device. I should have done the same. 2. The waiter showed us our final bill (on the silly table screen) and asked us to pay as we were ordering our desserts. It is a big no-no in my book to ask a customer to even think about paying before they'e finished their dining experience. I can't say many places have made this mistake in my years. 3. Ah right... the food. I ordered some sausage stuffed giant rigatoni or something to that effect. I was hoping for slices or at least pieces of real Italian sausage, but it turned out to be some pasty pink substance mixed into the sauce. Yuck. 4. I noticed our total bill for two entrees, no appetizers, two ices teas, and one dessert shared was about the same as we spend when we go to Outback. Just as a price-to-experience comparison, I would have really preferred to go there instead and would have paid with my own $$$ just to enjoy the experience.

I came here with my son Monday night for mommy-son date night and it was ok. Our waiter was excellent but everything else was just okay. I usually order the same thing every time I come but made the mistake of not doing that this time and tried something else on the menu and it was sub par at best. My son ordered the mac n cheese and it was supposed to come with 2 sides but he was only offered one and when I asked the waiter it he looked surprised so I just let it go even though it was printed on the menu.

The service here is pretty good. It's rare these days that I have a refill before I'm finished. Here we had a refill on drinks and breadsticks. The server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The food is ok. We did the buy one take one home. The options are limited. But I had the Shrimp Alfredo and the ravioli to go. My wife had the chicken alfredo and the ziti to go. The ziti was pretty good the next day... Olive Gardens are pretty chainy, but they have added some new menu items. This particular visit was good. So yes, I am a fan today.

This place has the worse server ever. First of all they sat us down and left us there. They took forever to come and we HAD to ask for a cup of water. They messed up our order three times! We told them specifically no tomatoes because my brother has a severe allergic reactions and yet they still add tomatoes! Then they charge us extra for food we didn't even order! It was the worse! I expect better from a place like Olive Garden. They seem to not care about their customers because we couldn't even get a sincere apology.

Had to stop in here after a long day of moving this was one of our only options to eat that was open on a Sunday evening around 8pm that wasn't fast food. Our server was friendly BUT was never prompt with drinks/breadsticks/soup/salads. We had to ask for refills on all the above and generally felt like he was trying to get by with as little effort and service as possible as it was close to closing time. Our soup and $18 Tour of Italy meals were room temp. To top it off...at the end of our meal we were finishing our glasses of wine after we already had been given the check (and he had swiped the card and I had added the tip and completed the merchants receipt) when the server came back and grabbed the bill fold which I was resting under my arm as we had not finished our drinks. How tacky and rude! I love soup salad and breadsticks as much as the next person but if Olive Garden wants to continue to pretend like they deserve to charge like a Maggianos maybe they should be a little more selective with who they hire and how they serve their food. I should note that the two other servers around us seemed to be working their tails off.

Americanized Italian comfort food that your sweatpants wearing son Tod enjoys. What i dislike the most about this OG is the ambiance. I dont want to sound like a douche, but its the customers... Soo many families with their adult children who still live at home. This is their spot! every time. i suppose over hearing some of their conversation is amusing, but i feel bad that this is what the world has come too. suburbia at it worst. now that my asshole rant is out of the way on to the review....i enjoy the soup-salad-breadsticks lunch. The house salad is always loaded with too much dressing, almost making it feel heavy. i am going to try to order it with dressing on the side next time. service is fast and courteous though some of their busboys hate their lives, or at least they mope around like they do. every time i get the bill i say to myself, "not bad" (for the price).

The review is not about the food. I need to give my opinion on the new kiosk machines on the table hate them. I want a waiter to take my order and be responsible for my food. That is why a waiter gets a tip and answers questions about menu items. The waiter gave us the excuse that the machine is there in case he does not come back so basically use the machine if he is not doing his job. It gives you games that they charge u for so another way to take your money. I am very tech friendly but hate these machines as part of the food experience

I was seated after waiting a couple minutes during the lunch hour. The server was attentive and answered our questions. I don't know Italian and many items had Italian type names. Never-ending pasta bowl! I had several bowls of pasta with the meat sauce and the server seemed to be right there asking if I wanted a refill. After my third bowl, the server told me that the record for never-ending bowls was sixteen bowls. The general manager of the restaurant stopped by my table and other tables talking with all of the patrons and dropping off his business card. He seemed genuinely interested in getting feedback. If you want to eat a lot, you can get a lot of food for the value. Someone could easily fill up on the salad and breadsticks alone. I didn't have any issues at this restaurant and it seemed like my typical experience at a chain restaurant.

It has been years since I have eaten at an Olive Garden restaurant. When my husband suggested we have our Friday night date night dinner at Olive Garden, quite frankly, I was disappointed. I had no inclination to go back there. Well, I literally ate my words this evening. Our meal truly rated 5 stars. The service was perfect. Our server paced the meal perfectly for us. The food was delicious. It arrived HOT, which does not always happen on crowded Friday nights. I had the roasted garlic and alfredo sauce pasta with an add on of shrimp. The $2.49 (I think) add on cost of the shrimp was well worth it. My husband had the pasta primavera. He loved the vegetable sauce. Good service continued as the server boxed our leftovers for us. She gave us a couple of extra breadsticks to take home with us. I'm looking forward to reheating the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Every staff member said hello to us as we walked to and from our table. I'm glad I agreed to go to this Olive Garden. I couldn't have asked for a better meal out.

Smells bad and no server for 12 minutes after sitting down. Can't speak for the food, walked out. Hit another chain in the parking lot if you must.

We usually enjoy eating here when we're in the area. We came in late after a workout, and they were mopping behind the bar while we were sitting there eating. NOT very cool, having salad, smelling the cleansers and garbage, while trying to eat dinner. We understand it was an hout before closing, but when you have patrons sitting at the bar dining in your establishment, you should be conscious of what you're actually doing...

3 stars is about right for this location. I've had some excellent meals here and some that have been so so. Was just here Aug. 2015 and had an excellent meal with great service. If you order raviolis, I recommend asking them to leave off the mozzarella cheese.

I used to love Olive Garden back when I was an extremely picky eater and ordered nothing but plain pasta and bread, so I thought this place was like food heaven. Now, not so much. Since I've branched out and now will eat just about anything, Olive Garden just seems to fall short in all areas. After experiencing Chicago restaurants like Girl and the Goat, Zed451, and other places downtown, this place just seems so... eh. Especially lately. My friends like to go here, so I probably end up here once every month or so, but lately (maybe they changed management), the food quality has gone downhill. They push food out extremely quickly, but the taste seems to suffer. When I had the seafood brodetto, the scallops were overcooked and chewy. Next time I had the chicken abruzzi, the chicken was overcooked and dry, as was the chicken of those in my party. If you're looking for a good restaurant around the area, Jameson's Charhouse in Stratford is pretty decent.

I never thought I'd give Olive Garden five stars, but the service here is so good and the food is solid so why not. We pass another Olive Garden closer to home to come here. Jon C., our waiter, was swamped, but he took great care of us even though we weren't spending much. Nice work!

I don't eat here often, but I had a bad experience here the one time I did... It was a Birthday dinner with some friends (4 adults, 2 kids.) It took us a long time to get served and when we finally got bread we did not get any plates. When the main dish meals came out, the waiter almost dropped the plate on one of my friends head and did not apologize. He also forgot one meal completely, so one of my friends had to wait while he scrambled to rush order it and the rest of us ate so that our food didn't get cold. After paying the bill completely, the waiter came back and forgot to charge us for that rush order meal he had forgotten... At this point they should have offered it for free in my opinion, but they did not. The "buy one get one free to take home" promotion was going on at this time. After one of my friends got home she discovered her meal had no sauce! Get it together Olive Garden...

Eh... its Olive Garden... It is what it is... was in the area and needed to wait around for about 2 hours... not much going on in terms of food out in these parts.. so went with something recognizable. Good experience.. service was fine.. decent wine, they at least had a Malbec. Had the braised beef with pasta.. eh... nothing to rave about. At least the breadsticks were nice and warm :D We killed 2 hours.. that's for sure :D I've definitely had a lot worst. People definitely do not put on their Sundays best to go out anymore... I felt I was on the set of honey boo boo in there.... sorry.. just callin em how I see em.. :D

Let's see... Been there a few times and every time it was good. The waiters are nice and respectful. It tends to get busy on the weekends so make sure you have a reservation. Last time I ate chicken alfredo and it was scrumptious! They also give you never ending breadsticks which taste very fresh and I can never get enough of them! The portions are pretty big. Even if you don't get an appetizer or dessert you will be full once you eat the entree. It's pretty average priced for this type of restaurant. They have a private lot, no valet. The inside if very neat and pretty and I like that it's not really bright in there. Alcoholic drinks are a little pricey but that's everywhere you go. Good place! Will definitely go again.

Microwaved "Italian" food. Might as well just buy those TV dinners, because you'll get the same quality for a cheaper price.

Being a chain restaurant, it's hard to really rate the food as the food you eat at one Olive Garden is the same as any other Olive Garden you decide to go to. Except for the breadsticks. The breadsticks here seemed a little harder than what I'm used to. But that would be the only food review I would give. I will mostly concentrate on the service. When coming to an Olive Garden, we make our way to the bar area as the service is quick, fast, and efficient. The bartender at this location that served us seemed a little busy so it took a little time before he was able to come to us. But, when he did everything rolled quickly. He was polite and had good customer service. He made sure that our water was filled and constantly came to us if we needed him for anything else. He was knowledgeable about the wine they served and what is paired with their meals, and even offered samples. I'm sure they are required to, but it was nice we were offered.

Three star average sounds about right for this Olive Garden location. We went here on a Saturday, and it wasn't too busy, but we were still asked to wait for 5 minutes. I found that odd, but I brushed it off...I mean this is Olive Garden, and not a fancy schmancy Trattoria. Our waiter was clearly a neophyte, he was good but forgot alot of our requests. I can't knock this place too much, I mean the food is pretty good. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Stuffed Chicken. That was hot damn delicious...and thats all I got to say about that. This place is a part of a good franchise, and I will keep coming back for more of that good ole Italian food.

I haven't eaten at an Olive Garden in years because the food was just, meh. But I went with a friend recently and was surprised by the changes! The food was pretty solid, the breadsticks were a hit (as always) and the service was great. It's also re done inside, much nicer then before. The manager also came by to introduce himself and check in on us. Much better then in the past.

Braised short ribs of beef w/Portobello mushrooms in Marsala sauce; choose your pasta if you like; Portobello mushroom Ravioli excellent. They will gladly serve it with sauce on the side. Great Chicken Marsala with Oven Baked Potatoes (they toss in some sweet potatoes).....all excellent. Customer friendly restaurant.

I wouldn't say this is the best italian restaurant .. For some reason , their food always gets me sick so I'm kinda turned off by that .. Other than that, the breadsticks are great , salad is good.. Service is good as well! I haven't been back there since I got sick 2x!

Great service, love salad and soup. Perfect on a Frigid day. Ambience is cozy. Live in neighborhood, so we come here often. .. even in the summer. Soup is delicious all year long!

Love the soup/salad/breadsticks - which we come for often! Last night.. Zuppa Toscana (sp?) wasn't very hot. Waitress was very attentive .. but it seems they are a bit short staffed. I hear they are closing .... One suggestion.... Don't sweep floors while people are eating. That is so disgusting. Kicking up dust - right in front of my face is really not necessary til that restaurant is closed unless an accident has happened requiring quick cleanup.. Has always been one of my pet peeves. Lots of things on the menu - maybe too many. Quality always seems to suffer when restaurants try to do that. We will be back -- just not as often as quality seems to be slipping.

Growing up, my family loved Olive Garden. It was the go-to spot for birthday and celebratory meals. Two years ago, I decided to break tradition and suggest somewhere else for these meals. My eyes were opened as I realized there was more than overpriced chain restaurants. Yet... we keep getting gift cards. We decided to use one of our gift cards last night and come to this location. We called ahead and made a 7:30 reservation -- otherwise, the walk-in wait would have been 45 minutes. I STILL don't understand why people come here, wait that long, and shell out ridiculous amounts of money for so-so food when there are many better independent places out there to get your food. But I guess I used to be one of those people, so I guess I'll let that slide.... Fortunately, our reservation meant we were seated right away. We sat at a two-person 'booth' and immediately noticed how large the table felt. My husband seemed like he was sitting so far away! The next thing I noticed was the revamped menu -- new items and higher prices. That's right, it got even MORE expensive! A spaghetti meal used to be $9.99. Now it's $11.75. More with meat in it. My usual dish (Parmesan-crusted Tilapia) increased by two or three dollars, too. I still ordered it anyway, nothing else was appealing. My husband got the $12.95 three-course meal special --- soup/salad, entree, and desert. He gave me his desert. They only gave us three breadsticks in a basket. I remember getting more in the past. And the salad? The giant bowl they gave us only allowed for two tiny salads. We had to get that bowl refilled twice. Our meals arrived while we were still working the salads. My husband said his was just OK. I was disappointed with mine. The fish seemed kind of mushy and had no flavor at all. Not even the lemon I squeezed on top made it more appealing. The angel hair pasta and veggies on the side was so tiny. I could have picked it all up with my hand - that's how small it was. Needless to say, I felt like my meal was a rip-off. The only good thing was the Limoncello desert afterwards, but even THAT felt like it had been in the freezer for the day and just taken out when I ordered it. We also felt rushed the entire meal. Our waiter, although very friendly and nice, seemed like he was in a constant hurry. We felt like he only stopped at our table while he was in the midst of doing five other things. Our food was delivered too quickly, the busboy asked me several times if he could take my plate (no, I'm clearly eating!!!), and then the check was placed on our table. I think our meal was less than an hour. And we didn't want it to be. I like it when everything is evenly-paced. Our bill was $30. $25 was covered by the gift card and then remaining five plus tip was put on our card. I really hated that we were spending money there. (I hate most restaurant and store gift cards in general -- it's forced spending.) Last night's experience just reminded me why I started to dislike going to Olive Garden over the years. I hope no one gives us any more gift certificates there.

Just got done with dinner and for a chain it's pretty good. Only one thing was off . The chicken tortellini soup literally had Zero tortellini and just a spoonful of chicken hence the 4 not 5 star. I asked the guy serving me about the dumplings and he said not to many ? I laughed said Zero, the guy went rite away and brought a cupful . Service Great. Price good. And food Good . Not great bid pretty good. Ya I'll be back.

I came here Sunday to have dinner since I was in the area & Olive Garden is one of my favorite places.... I love their salad. What I can't believe though is that I've had not only better food but better service too at the Olive Garden in North Riverside. I used to work at TGIF so I know how it works there, they were not busy enough for the service/food we received. I would have been more understanding if they were packed. My fiancé and I arrived here & there was a 10-15 minute wait for 2. Which is fine.. it was 6pm after all.. I expected a worse wait.. We were seated after about 5-7 minutes. We were sitting for 12 minutes before our server ever came to our table to get a drink order. However, she passed our table in those 12 minutes at least 4-5 times. One of which she could have at least introduced herself & taken our drink order. When she came to the table the first time, she was very nice, took our order & came back with drinks pretty quickly. She was pretty good about frequent visits & her service for the rest of night was great. Things that weren't our servers fault though (that I know of) when the food came, my fiancé's dish was wrong, so I had my food without him. Luckily I eat slow, so even though I started first we finished at the same time. I got the parmesan baked tilapia- it clearly wasn't fresh since the tilapia tasted so fishy I didn't even really eat it. I ate the breading off of it which was ok- not anything to rave about. We needed 5 salad refills to make 5 plates of salad. My fiancé at 2 plates & I ate 3. They don't fill the bowls even half way full. Our breadsticks were fine. They ended up comping my fiancé's dinner since it first arrived wrong then later then mine. I expected better from this Olive Garden then what I receive when I go to North Riverside. Since we're eating at this Olive Garden after our wedding tomorrow, I can only hope everything will turn out better since I don't have time now to change anything.

Not even two bites of ravioli and I could tell it tastes like crap. This is like the taco bell of italian food and it terrible. Such a sad sad experience, never coming here again.

I think I still smell like a garlic breadstick... Normally this would be pretty gross, but tonight's breadsticks were extra fresh and yummy! I am a little (okay, very) particular about my Olive Garden meal. I know exactly what I like here and how I like it. Tonight, our server, Dawn, was very helpful in making sure that my meal was just right and she even got me to try a new soup. I think it's a bit overpriced for a meal at a chain restaurant, but we continue to go back regularly, so they must be doing something right.

Have you ever waited 45 minutes for your meal to arrive then instead of getting your food you had a bag of salt thrown in your face? That's what I felt like when my food arrived. The service here was very slow. The server was nice but came to our table 3 times the entire meal. Once to take our order, twice to give us our food & the third time to give us our check. The food here was not what I was expecting. The food tasted like it was covered in salt & for the price it should have been much better. Overall the service was not that great & the food was even worse. I don't think I will be returning here.

Every time we've come to this location we get excellent service. For example, we came here last night (table of 5) and I was joking around with our waiter (Kevin) about how he probably should just bring me out my own basket of breadsticks because I love them that much and he actually did! Blew my socks off. I had the Baked Ziti al Forno and it was delicious. Make sure to save room for dessert, because the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was amazing. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with our Olive Garden experience. We will definitely be coming back to this location.

Olive Garden is just Olive Garden. I may be a food snob, but it really doesn't replicate Italian food very well. It's very heavy with a lot of creams. I've definitely learned over the years to not overindulge on the breadsticks (which is difficult for me to do) so I can at least get to my entree. I really like the salad they have and the soups. I've learned not to overeat here because I don't want to feel sick to my stomach, so I always end up getting a take home box. At least the food is consistent in that sense at all locations? The service is just sub-par. On our last visit, it was a Wednesday evening and we were seated by the kitchen and that added additional traffic by our table. Even so, our server was slammed with tables so we had other servers bring our food out to us. It was a little chaotic... for a Wednesday night! Yeah, the day of the week confused me a bit for it being busy. The chaos led to searching for our serving to refilling drinks. It was kind of a mess.

While I do appreciate authentic Italian food, sometimes driving to Maggiano's just isn't an option. When you're really hungry and need a pasty fix, Olive Garden fills a need when in a pinch. The main reason why I've eaten here multiple times is because it is very convenient, situated right next to Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Stratford Square and so forth. Pros: + We've been seated promptly more often than not + Servers and waitresses have been friendly + The food has been served quickly even during peak hours + The one time I did have an issue with a meat dish not being cooked properly, the manager was very responsive and apologetic Cons: - This place is crowded with a capital C on nights and weekends - Do not visit on a Friday or Saturday night unless you're fine with waiting in the lobby for 15-20 minutes In short, Olive Garden of Bloomingdale is not where you take your real Italian mother, but as I'm of Portuguese decent, my mom would be okay with this place. You could do worse when you're really hungry.

We came here with my in-laws and 2 year old son for dinner Sunday. The service was awfully slow for how "busy" they looked. Our server was also very "absent minded" and took forever with refills. He also kept apologizing for ridiculous things like my mother in law ordering gluten free, and then asking if she felt OK, upon receiving our food, what was up with that ? Normally it's how is everything. The service at this location varies greatly. Depending on many things. It's a hit or miss. I only keep returning because they offer gluten free items and I get tired of chilies.

I work close to this location and go occasionally for soup and salad for lunch. Food is consistantly good (For Olive Garden) Their service is generally very good and I think they must have a good management team/training since the servers are all very polite, even the ones who are not waiting on you. Last time we were there, I only had one bowl of soup and the waitress gave me one to go. Said that whenever a customer of hers only has one bowl, she offers them one to take with. Thought that was a nice touch for a chain restaurant.

I had the unlimited salad, Lasagna Fritta and the Sausage & Peppers Rustica today at this location. The salad was just wrong. either it had entirely too much dressing or it was simply wilted and tasted the same. The Lasagna Fritta was great (will try that again). The Sausage & Peppers came out on a dish fiery hot from the microwave. Horrible part was neither the sausage nor the penne noodles were cooked through. And I wasn't asking for anything specific in cooking the sausage. I just want it done. Not well -done, just finished cooking. The penne noodles were also short of done. So to be microwaved on top of that was simply disgusting. Thumbs down! And last week at the 3303 West Touhy Avenue, Lincolnwood, IL 60712 (Lincolnwood Town Center) location. Except I had soup instead, and the appetizer there was Fried Mozzarella & Fried Zucchini. The Zuppa Toscana soup was delicious. First time having the Sausage & Peppers and I enjoyed it thouroughly. It was flavored and cooked well. Thumbs up!

I heart Olive Garden. I have a special place in my heart for this particular location, because I have know a number of people who have been employed here and because every time something get's screwed up, they go above and beyond to repair the problems. I went here last night with my sister and nephew. Left my boyfriend at home. He volunteered and it saved us money. Okie dokie! Pulled into their parking lot and you would think they were giving away free bread sticks or something!! Man, was it PACKED! Drove around their tiny parking lot a few times before being able to catch a decent spot. We sat in the upper back section at a 4-top. Our server was Dawn. Nice woman and somewhat knowledgeable. Somewhat disappointed by the rushed feeling we had during our dining experience. She seemed like she really wanted us in and out. Didn't bother me THAT much. I'll take my time and enjoy my overpriced meal with my family if I want to. She kept our glasses pretty much full the whole time, she did not hold back on the bread sticks and she was kind enough to wrap my food. The garlic on the bread sticks was overwhelming last night! Seriously, I loved it and hated it at the same time. Now, here is when I start to feel bad I left my boyfriend at home...I come home reeking of garlic bread sticks. Good thing, he's awesome and it didn't seem to bother him too much. I heart him too! The Pasta Fagioli soup is typically more like a chili (partially the reason I love it) and last night it very much represented a soup. A lot of broth, tomatoes and beans. Very little meat and noodles. I actually ate my first bowl (minus the abundance of tomatoes) and ordered a refill. More tomatoes! Screw it. Onto the meal, I ordered off the lunch menu and got the Grilled Chicken Spiedini. Tried something new. PRETTY TASTY!! They get an extra star for this. Crispy potatoes and a lovely skewer of what probably accumulates to 1 chicken breasts worth of meat (3 chunks), red bell peppers and Green peppers with some onions. Nice flavor. I'll definitely try this over the summer on my Weber. The squash and zucchini veggie side had a nice taste, too, however the vegetables seemed like they were about 2-3 hours old because they were terribly overcooked and soggy. $11.00 for a chicken breast and some potatoes.....hmmm? Who knows why, but I'm sure we will be back in a few weeks.

Came here on Veteran's Day November 11th, 2014 and it was extremely crowded. Olive Garden was offering Vets a Free Meal, which I thought was really nice. Considering this day was a Tuesday it was Packed with people, but we got a table within 10 minutes. The Food was ok, but the service was very good. Our Waiter was on the ball. The Manager came around to every table thanking the Vets for all they have done for us, this was a nice touch I thought. I believe the Manager is named Rich and he truly seems to care about customers returning to O.G. If you like O.G.'s Food this would be the location to come too.

This was the first Olive Garden I've been to in about 15 years. I went through a phase where every Olive Garden I went to had bad food and service. This happened in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. Someone else wanted to go there, I went and it was BAD! So a new acquaintance wanted to do lunch here and I held my breath. We were seated right away and had great service! No rushing us and our waiter was very attentive. I'm not a big fan of eating pasta out, but the soup, salad and breadsticks was right up my alley. I'm not in any rush to return here, but if someone wants to go, I can accompany them without dreading it!

I've been going to this Olive Garden for two years now and it has been consistently good with the food quality and service. The problem i think most people have is that they don't know what to expect at a place like this. Olive garden food is suppose to be really salty, and not authentically italian made. When I go i expect my meal to be cooked by the usual gang of hispanic people working in the kitchen and my only expectation for the food is that it tastes the same everytime. (Which it does). If you expect otherwise just don't go. The food at this location is consistent and good, the service is fine. Don't have ridiculous expectations and you'll have a perfectly decent, salty dinner.

I love coming here! I've been to birthdays, memorial luncheons, and just family get togethers here. The food is consistent, the prices are fair, and you get breadsticks, and soup or salad with ANY entree! How can you beat that?!

I wish I could give this location negative stars.. We love OG! We visit at least once a month. It was our first visit to this location as we were new to the area and it was TERRIBLE!!! My husband and I went there with 2 friends. We are all creatures of habit. We order the same meal every time we go to any OG. We went for lunch and we were seated right away. It took around 10 minutes for our server to greet us and take our drink order. Another 10 minutes for us to receive our drinks and for him to take our meal order. We ordered 2 chicken scampi's. 1 tour of Italy. 1 chicken alfredo. All with salad and an alfredo dipping sauce as an appetizer. We got our salads promptly.. but no alfredo dipping sauce, he said he'd bring it right out with drink refills. We got our meals after waiting 20 minutes after our salad - still no drinks or dipping sauce. We asked for them again.. and were told ok we will bring it right out. Our meals were terrible. The chicken scampi sauce was very oily... I mean you can literally see oil in the food. The chicken alfredo was a lump of stuff... you couldn't eat it. They finally brought out the dipping sauce that was nearly solid, not a sauce at all! We asked to talk to a manager who comped the alfredo dipping sauce and offered us a $15 gift card. Okay, not happy but we were ready to get out of there. Now fast forward 2 weeks, we went to the woodfield OG (it was AMAZING!!!) tried to use the gift card bloomingdale gave us and it was NEVER activated!!! Even though he had included a receipt showing the amount that should have been on the card. Thankfully the Manager at woodfield OG took care of it on her own but this solidified my opinion that BLOOMINGDALE OG IS DISGUSTING AND NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR HASSLE TO DEAL WITH TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM BOTH SERVERS AND MANAGERS TO GET TERRIBLE FOOD!

This is our favorite local go-out-with-the-family place. In the 12+ years we have been in Bloomingdale we have been there dozens of times. Rich Miller the current GM works very hard to keep his restaurant clean, his staff well-trained, and the food as tasty as possible. Our favorite server is Nikkie the Bears fan. We ask for her every time. Actually all the servers we have had are fine. Realize that this place is really popular during the regular eating times, and expect to wait if you decide to show up at 6pm on a Saturday night, just like all popular restaurants. I have read the negative comments and do not agree with them but you need to go yourselves and expect to be well taken care of. Yep.

I've been to olive garden about a dozen times, and because the bread sticks are soo good, I keep coming back. The main reason I come back are for the bread sticks, they are so good, it's like a drug. The salad is also very tasty, I love their dressing so much that I bought a bottle from Sam's Club. Keep in mind that i'm not a fan of salad, I refer to it as bunny food but for some reason I can always eat salad from here. During the winter season, I tend to get the Minestrone soup, which is the only vegetarian soup on the menu. The service is always average here, and wait is ridiculous if you come during the dinner or lunch rush. Either call for reservations ahead of time or be prepared to wait. Sometimes they bring out appetizers to try though, a waiter brought out fried ravioli once. Being a vegetarian, there isn't much you can order for entrees. I always get the Five Cheese Ziti al Forno, it's cheesy, tasty, and filling. I've had the Cheese Ravioli with marinara sauce and it's too bland for my taste. I'll be back for my dose of bread sticks every now and then, but that's it.

I personally am very fond of olive garden. Generally has great food and atmosphere. This particular location is horrid. After three different experiences in a row, I've decided to never go back to this location. Waiting 10 minutes at our table for a server to come over to us, when we count nearly 6 walking around greeting other tables, or looking at us. Needless to say, we walked out without eating or even putting in our drink order. The staff basically just looked at us, the manager was mildly apologetic, and bribed our business with a gift card. Needless to say, we used it at the downers grove location.

I just went here recently, September 27 2010 to be exact. The service was very slow. The salad I received was literally frozen. The meal i got was the chicken and shrimp carbonara. Later in the evening I got food poisoning! I was up all night! Needless to say, I am never going back.

I'm a big fan of Olive Garden. They introduce new dishes often enough to keep things interesting, and the salad they serve is my absolute favorite. They have a diverse selection on their menu at any given time, making it easy to find a dish that you like/suits your mood. The servers at this location are friendly and attentive pretty consistently. This Olive Garden is a little smaller than other nearby locations, but it's less cramped than the Scaumburg location, and the waits, when there is one, are fairly reasonable.

So we went here on a Tuesday night at 9:30pm. They close at 10:30pm so we figured an hour is more than enough time for two people to eat and not feel too rushed. As soon as we walked in one of the waiters saw us and gave a little annoyed sigh. But the hostess was polite and seated us and luckily that waiter wasn't the one serving us. We knew exactly what we wanted and ordered right away. They had run out of my favorite raspberry lemonade so our waitress suggested some peach iced tea. Not a fan. I also mentioned to our waitress that We would also be ordering an entree to go(for the babysitter), and asked when we should order it. She just said "order it when I bring your food." So we waited...and waited. The place was empty so why the long wait? That would be because our waitress was seated by the bar texting, which I wouldn't have cared about if our food was fresh. But no. Our appetizer arrived WITH our food and every last thing was dry and rubbery. So obviously it had been sitting under a heating lamp for a while, because my cream sauce had a skin. Yuck. And on top of that, when we tried to order our to go entree, we were told the kitchen closed at 10pm. Ok cool, so you just lost out on another $20 which only means a bigger tip, but whatever. It's cool though, because there are plenty of other olive gardens to enjoy when we crave overpriced microwaved food.

This olive garden is really nice. the waiters and waitresses are really friendy and helpful, and are always there to serve you. The salad is really good, and the breadsticks and complimentary chocolate mint! mmm! :p I would suggest getting the "tour of italy'' plate. it comes with parmesean chicken, lasanga, and fettuchine. ;) The desserts here are also really good! I would suggest to anyone who likes desserts the Lemon cream cake! SOOO GOOD! :)

I went here a few weeks ago. It took forever to be seated and the place was practically empty. Then it took at least 15 minutes to get a server to our table. I was eating with my cousin when she found a hair in her food. Needless to say, we were disguisted and called the manager over. When she came over she completely belittled us (I'm thinking since we're both on the younger side). So she stoops down and says in this demeaning tone, "what happened here tonight, ladies??" When we told her about the hair she stared down at the plate and practically laid her head down into it to get a better view. Then she says, "wow that is disguisting." She turns over to me and asks how my meal was when I said "it was ok I guess." she left. At this point we just wanted to leave but no server or manager was in sight. We waited over 30 minutes after that to even pay our bill!! Even though the servers were walking around chatting and laughing while looking over at our table. This lady didn't apologize at all and still charged us for everything except my cousin's entree. I would say skip this place unless you want hair in your food and a rude incompetent manager. I was so disguisted that the least they could have done is comp both of our meals and drinks. Thumbs DOWN! What a disguisting place and horrible, unprofessional customer service.

I have not been to this Olive Garden for about 2 years maybe a little more. We used to go every week before that time but then things slid downhill just a bit so we stopped coming. Today ( March 7th or 8th 2015) we went back and I was thrilled to see Richard ( the manager). Everything was back to being A.1 and we left so very satisfied. We almost just wanted to stay and chat with Richard and our server because of how great everything was today. Our server was Dan who is simply fantastic and has such a great personality that you just felt welcome. Then we had help from Mike who was very sweet, and they seemed to both know exactly how to do things right and make everyone feel at ease. It was so nice to go into a restaurant and not feel like a walking wallet they way other big corporation restaurant's make you feel. This Olive Garden makes you feel welcome and wanted and when you come back after 2 years of not dining there to be remembered and welcomed speaks volumes for the manager and his employee's . Great job Richard to you & your staff especially Dan & Mike. :-)

We came here for my daughter's birthday last night. Food was good, service was excellent. I do wish they had more options for paleo diets, but I could make do. The expensive prices keep this from being 5 star. Everything is am add on, and even workout beverages, meals average $15-$20 per person, at least.

The soup was salty. The waiter kept hurrying us up in subtle & not so subtle ways. It was lunchtime though & there were a lot of empty tables. I betcha he was hurrying to get his tip & get home. He kept interrupting the conversation I had with my friend who I hadn't seen in over a year! It was weird and rude. I do not recommend this restaurant. I just had to use the gift card I got as a gift. Go instead to Aurelio's in Lake St., Addison. Great food, great service and nice staff! I had dinner there with another friend, and the place was packed. The waiter/staff didn't hurry as up and very solicitous to us. It was a wonderful experience.

I love Olive Garden. Been to different locations including one in Las Vegas and have never been disappointed. Like every restaurant one visit might not have been as good as the last visit because maybe the wait was a little longer or perhaps not enough sauce on your shrimp pasta but all things that can be overlooked, and or corrected. We had dinner there tonight and it was scrumptious. We started out with the mussels for an appetizer. Hubby had sausage and peppers over penne pasta and I had the Parmesan stuffed chicken breast which was seriously over the top good. Restaurant was very crowded and noisy tonight but one bite and all was forgotten. Love it!

I love, love, LOVE the unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks combo! I've always had really friendly service here, as well. I'd mainly suggest coming here with relatives, though. It's not the right atmosphere for a date or a night out with friends, in my opinion.

Well, this is the first time we didn't order our favorites, so I don't know what to think. I usually get the beef tortelloni and Tom gets fettucine with meat sauce. This time, we strayed. He got the funny-named lasagna that was a two-fer as per their special. (Buy one, take one home.) I got chicken marsala. We had a beef/flatbread appetizer. The service was just fine, as always. I noticed the manager wandering around frequently, checking on diners and watching for cues that diners needed assistance. I always like that in a restaurant. He was very professional. The flatbread appetizer was just barely okay. The flatbread itself was excellent, flakey and crisp. The beef tips topping was pretty tasteless....way under-seasoned. Tom had the soup (two varities) and they were, as always, excellent. Hot and tasty. The salad? Yummy!!!! Our entres were bland and tasteless. The special-named ravioli had little flavor and less sauce. My chicken marsala was a disappointment. The marsala was a little over-powering, and everything on my plate was underseasoned. I'm not used to that in a restaurant. Maybe they're trying to cook more healthful? At any rate, we go about once a month, but I think it'll be a while before we go again. Both of us were disappointed overall.

As the waiter approached he stated " careful the plates are extremely hot" WHAT???? 1. Because they sat under a heat lamp and completely dried them out?!?!? 2. Or you heated our food with a microwave and dried it out?!?! After eating I felt sick and super bloated. Like a rotting whale jumped in my stomach. Haven't been to OG in prob 10 years. So..... See y'all in 2024!!! O'Riva-Derch

I honestly feel like somewhat of a sell out for reviewing a chain restaurant, but it's a tough job. Someone's gotta do it. I usually try to stay away from this place because I just feel like it's overpriced and you can get way better food elsewhere for that kind of money. Nonetheless, last night was a friend's birthday, and for some odd reason she decided this is where she wanted to spend it. Through my experience with Olive Garden the past few years, I've learned my lesson; the only way to not be disappointed by my meal is to order something with no pasta. I know, it's a bit mind-blowing since this is their specialty. However, each time I go, someone I'm with orders pasta, and it never fails to gross me out. It's just way too oily and soggy. Just not my thing. The past few times I've gone I've stuck with the Stuffed Chicken Marsala. It's definitely not the best I've ever had. But it's probably the best thing you can get there. Aside from that, the amazing bread sticks, and zuppa toscana are probably the only thing I crave when I haven't been there in a while. Usually, I've pretty much stuffed myself with that by the time the food comes.

Have I had better Italian food? yes of course. It's like eating at taco and saying that it's mexican. Also, they are trying to upsell their wines and not a fan of their sutter home based wines. Anyways, olive garden here proved to be very clean, service from our waiter was great and 2 for $25 deal is an amazing deal considering some restaurant a whole entree is over $25. Food is semi bland and doesn't necessarily sticks out as something unique but it fills you up and can't go wrong with their soup/breadsticks as well. All in all I would say that I had one of the better experiences of OG at this location and mostly likely be back soon.

I'll be honest, coming from out of town this is the best service olive garden I've been to compare to my home area. The front house was nice and did their job right. They even offered the menu for guest to view while waiting. Once we were paged, the host seated us right away. Our waiter Tommy was attentative and respectful. He made two minor errors which was he didn't offer cheese and he got my friend's order wrong. It wasn't a big deal to us. It's simply human error. It happens. What made it pleasant was he was apologetic about the error. The manager personally came by to assure my friend that the order will be taken care. Point blank, I've worked in the food industry before and this olive garden service is better than most casual chain restaurants. Food was on point. My nephew and I had the fettuccine alfredo. My friends had the tour of Italy, chicken tuscano and the chicken marsala. The salad was not overly dressed which is perfect. The breadsticks were soft and fluffed. The soups were evenly seasoned. The chianti wasn't bad. It was medium bold, slightly fruity and great with chicken. If I lived here. This place would be a go to with family and friends. However not good for dates.

Nice work!

The proportions for food are smaller than im used to. And the noodles they cook with are thicker, didn't like it. I'm sticking to the one on Butterfield Rd, it's alot better

Thumbs up!

Love it!

Yep.

SOOO GOOD! :)

Had a great visit at the Olive Garden tonight. Good food and good service. Had a new server. She missed a couple things but came through shining. Not sure how someone could have a bad visit here.

This place or location I should say has got to have the worst possible customer service imaginable. Will never order take out or dine here ever again. Really lame :(

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
