Wonderful sandwiches. Good food all-around. Been here 3 times already. Services has always been good so far. Especially good experience tonight when the owner allowed us to order even though they were technically closed. You can buy coupons at shopplanitkane.com/conte…

Food is pretty standard for a sub shop. Kind of a hole in the wall type place.

They serve Boars Head meats which is the best you can get and the sandwiches are top notch!

The food is pretty standard, not bad. $10 combo for a ruben, fountain drink, and small potato salad. Delicious and satisfying. It's attached to the American food joint next door and owned by the same person. My guest wanted fries with his chicken wrap, but they directed him one room over to the other restaurant. That seems kind of rigid to me that you can't order a side from the other restaurant when the dining rooms are attached and owned by the same people. Inside was clean; outside was a little dirty but acceptable. I could see myself going there again next time I ride the prairie path.

Nothing that bowled you over or was new or interesting. Sandwiches were fresh and the bread was excellent., I just didnt see a reason to ever go back, there was no draw. I have no complaints over the Turkey or Italian we had but again there was noting that would make be go again. Its too bad I want ed to love it but a little imagination and effort would do them a world of good.

I've been looking for a good deli around the North Aurora/Batavia area for almost two years now. Deli sandwiches are my absolute favorite food and this had to be one of the top three sandwiches I've ever had. I got the Sierra Turkey on a French Roll (baked fresh daily) with American cheese and added tomato and onions. The sandwich also had FRESH avocado slices (not some frozen spread) and chipotle mayo. My co-worker got the pastrami and also said that was really good. I will definitely be frequenting this place at least once a week since I work in the area. It's a little pricey - $10 for a sandwich and chips... but for the quality of freshly sliced meat/cheese, good bread, and great options, it's definitely worth it.

Ordered two subs and I started to pick the sandwich apart because there was too much mayo. As I pulled the turkey out there was a blue piece of string from a shirt or something. So disgusting. We will definitely not be returning.

FILTHY! It's been awhile since I was here and wow has the place taken a turn for the worse. I'll support the local business before chains but...The place was extremely dirty, hole in the wall type of place which isn't necessarily bad...went there for lunch the nice girl behind the counter took my order, started to make my Turkey Sandwhich , then the cashier comes over from Bulldogs Red Hots (they are connected and operate together) with gift certificates he didn't know what to do with so she took them and help ring up the customer taking cash. On her way back to making my food and the phone rings so she grabs that and takes an order, hangs up and goes back to making my food while scratching her nose, at this point I realize wait! she's hasn't washed her hands or didn't put any gloves on. Good way to get your customers sick or spread germs. I'm not a germ freak but come on at least wash your hands! Needles to say I wont be back..and no I didn't eat the sandwhich...

What a nice sandwich shop! We went with a Groupon after a long bike ride. The North Island Sandwich Shoppe is nestled next to it's Siamese twin Bulldog Redhots. We found it to be nice, clean, and unique. After all, some of the ceiling tiles were artistically painted. The only problem with the interior of the place was that it was too warm (cooler than the 90 degrees outside). I heard rumor that the other side was cool. The friendly manager of both restaurants helped us. There were tons of sandwich options and it was hard to choose. I got a tuna sandwich on wheat bread with avocado and cucumber. She got a half of a roast beef sandwich with a side of potato salad. We agreed that our sandwiches were amazing. In fact, they were so delicious that she said that she should have gotten the pastrami because that just would have rocked. What didn't rock was the potato salad. Supposedly was the worst ever. Potato salad and warm temperatures aside, we enjoyed our experience at the North Island Sandwich Shoppe and hope to return after another bike ride.

Don't bother. U can go to Pot Belly and get a bigger better sandwich.

Really disappointed. We specifically chose this place because we wanted something simple, and it's pretty hard to mess up a sandwich. $30 later, one of the sandwiches (a panini) was delivered untoasted, and had a hair underneath the top piece of bread. Our order of potato salad wasn't very tasty, and was so small that I finished it in two bites. Two. I've got nothing against spending $30 for two meals if it's well done, but this was a very lackluster experience. I will definitely give them another chance, because their sister-restaurant (Bulldog's) has never disappointed. But for my first time there, this literally and figuratively left a sour taste in my mouth.

I LOVE North Island Sandwich Shoppe! Its a great "local town deli" and the employees are always really nice. They also have daily specials. The only thing that I wish would be consistent would be the amount of meat on the sandwiches/wraps. I go pretty frequently and when they first opened the sandwiches always had a great deal of meat on them and it was worth your $$, however these days I've noticed its hit or miss. That WONT stop me from coming in though!
