I've only been for lunch and the lunch special is very good as noted by earlier reviews. As cheap, and delicious, as $4 for egg foo yung w bbq pork, my favorite hangover lunch. LOTS of selections up to $6 and some decent big noodle soups. Surprisingly fast competent service with that huge menu. BIG booths with windows or more private tables in a separate large room. I prefer this location to the Randall Road location which I find dark. Bottomless free pot of tea just like it is supposed to be. Just one more reason to shop in Batavia who had sense enough to nix red light cameras. (don't tell anyone else about this place please ;~).

Went here for Mother's Day lunch with the mother in law. The food was good, but not quite what was ordered. The wife ordered sczwechwan tofu and got buddha's delight. I ordered Hot China. It had too many water chestnuts but was otherwise tasty. The MIL ordered sczwechwan shrimp which was good. Mystery ingredients appeared in all the food. That doesn't mean it was bad, but consistency is an issue. Service was excellent.

Customer service is terrible they took my credit card and slammed it on the computer to ring up my order and let's not talk abt the delivery guy he has a attitude like we the customer need him good food but the owner needs to work with their customer service skills and please don't make obvious to customer that u hate the food there notice a jimmy John delivery there one day for the staff that said alot to me as if staff don't want why should we.

I don't know how this place gets such great reviews. I used to love this place as kid but it's terrible now. No wonder the dining room was empty at 7:30 on a Friday night. I had the General Tso's chicken. First of all it was just chicken, no broccoli or any other veggies. The chicken itself was mostly breading and a lot of gristly pieces. The sauce wasn't bad... decent flavor. The pot stickers were big but I've had better. I will not be going back.

overly greasy, tasted generic, definitely not authentic at all. we asked if they can use fresh vegetables in a vegetarian dish -- they didn't have many options because most of the vegetables they use are canned! it's truly sad that there aren't any good Chinese food options in this area.

I'm Chinese and this place was disappointing. I went with my brother after a biking trip and we were starving and this was the only Chinese restaurant around Batavia. We ordered three dishes (common dishes like mongolian beef) and the taste simply wasn't up to par. There was no Asian (let alone Chinese) in the restaurant on a busy Saturday night so that probably tells you something. We were the only Chinese in the restaurant and had to ask for chopsticks. Then again, there aren't many Asians in Batavia so that probably doesn't mean much. But the menu is clearly very Americanized. However, even for a Chinese American place, this isn't one of the better choices. I'd suggest Wang's Garden (also in Batavia) over this place. On the bright side, the portions are large and we managed to finish it all, but only because we were starving.

Possible the best Chinese food anywhere. No other restaurant compares! The chicken fried rice, egg drop soup, and egg foo young is the best around. Plus the lunch specials are unbeatable.

This place is really solid. The other East China locations kind of suck, but I consistently get good food from this location. I've eaten here probably a hundred times, ever since my childhood, so I may be biased, but this place does fried rice the best out of any simple Chinese joint. Crab rangoon is cream-cheese heavy, the tastiest I've had at any restaurant. Only thing I would avoid is the fried rice in the lunch specials. Never tastes right.

East china inn is what it is. Local, fast cheap and good. Lazy Susan on the table with a big party or after a game with kids is fun. Share and have fun. Eddie the CHinese waiter has been there forever and provides great service as do all. Pot stickers are good. Lunch is fantastic value. Not as good as NEw STar in Elmwood Park but not an hour away.

I'm Chinese and I grew up eating Chinese food. this is probably the "better" of the Chinese restaurants in the area. At least you can find some Mapo tofu on the menu and Singapore fried noodles. Howeverr, still disappointing that I can't find any bok choy, gai lan or choy sum anywhere this way. The veggies still remain as the boring selection of broccolli and bean sprouts and mushrooms. At least they cook it right.

LOVE the food here-great chinese food. We love the mongolian beef and the egg drop soup is delish too. Everything we have gotten here is great. Only downside is don't try to ask questions-they are hard to understand and I've given up on finding what "noodle" dish I had there before that I liked.

Stopped in here for a quick snack before heading off to another location. I love Chinese food and I am always delighted to find a good place to eat. I had the bar-b-q pork (my favorite) and I got more than one meal out of it. The pork was wonderful.

Have lived in Batavia 13 years and to be honest this place has seen its better days. Dining Room is getting dinghy and run down. Staff is adaquate at best. Lunch is the move at this place. The food is decent, portions are nice and prices are cheap. Some of the staff do come off as rude especially at the cashiers area. 5 years ago i would have offered more stars, but they are coasting at this point. there is much better in Fox Valley area

Very cheap, good food for lunch. Huge portions, very unhealthy though. Kind of makes you wonder whats in the meat for a $4 meal. I'm really only joking though, we go often and it's very consistent. Love their hot and sour soup. The only thing negative I've had happen was the cockroach that climbed over my shoe in the bathroom. Haven't been back to the Batavia location since, but frequent the two on Randall rd. often.

East China Inn has great food, always hot. They deliver too and are always extremely quick (within 20 minutes) even thought they always say 45 minutes.

East China Inn does OK Cantonese, but Hunan and Szechuan dishes are way below average, verging on terrible. Average on value too - I prefer several others in the tri-cities.

This restaurant has a really good lunch special deal. For $5.99 you get a huge serving of fried rice, egg roll, and soup with your entree. It is enough for two meals for most people which makes it an incredible deal. Whenever I go for lunch I always order one to go. This way I can enjoy a good cheap meal another time. The items I particularly like are: Sweet and Sour Pork, Hunan Beef, and Mongolian Beef. If you get a sweet and sour dish, get the sauce on the side because they tend to drench everything in it. I like the decor of the location on Randal Rd in Windmill Plaza by Jewell best; however, the food is the same at all the locations. If you like Asian food take advantage of this great deal.

really good chinese food. .superb!! great service! we go here quite often. Lunch specials are really cheap and TONS of food! for left overs even!! Everything on the menu is great and it is a VAST menu with many items to choose from. Delivery is always fast, even if you carry out. They have a location in North Aurora on oak street, and one in montgomery/naperville/aurora (10 minutes from the fox valley mall)...and YUM!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
