I've been here a few times now and this is hands down the best Chinese/Cantonese food in Illinois. I've tried the shrimp fried rice, Chicken Egg Foo Young, fried chicken, crab ragoon, and chicken with broccoli. Food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Very reasonable prices...and speedy service. I've tried any places in Illinois and nothing has compared to the food that I've had in Indiana, until I ate here! I thoroughly enjoy their food! Would recommend this place to anyone who wants it authentic and fresh! Like someone else mentioned not the best dine in experience... But takeout is awesome!

I went in and placed my order at the register. I had somewhat of a long wait which I didn't mind too much since I didn't order ahead. I ordered sesame Chicken and a few other items. When I arrived home I opened the "sesame" chicken and realized that it was actually orange chicken that they just put a scope of sesames onto of it. The chicken was very sweet and not what I ordered. I called and made this known and was told that sesame and orange chicken was the same thing. REALLY???? Then why does it look different on the ordering menu and why does it have two different names. I was told I had two choices drive all the way back and return the food and receive my money back or get another order of sesame chicken. This in itself confused me because they just told me it was the same thing. Why then would I drive back to get the same thing? Why because after ordering from this place many times over the years I can tell you that sesame chicken is not orange chicken that's why. If you were too busy to make what I ordered and decided to just throw sesame on some orange chicken you had ready that's not my fault. I will not be going back

The manager of this restaurant is so rude. When I asked to have my order corrected (because they gave me the wrong meal) he yelled over and over again saying "I do not want your business. You are so picky. I do not like you. Do not come back. We don't like your business". He was so rude and unprofessional to the point I had to call the police, in order to finish conducting business. I would NEVER go back. And I'll be sure to let my family, friends and co workers know how poorly that treat a PAYING customer. (I wouldn't give them any stars at all. However you have to give at least one star in order to post a comment).

The McDonald's of Chinese food. This is your run of the mill average Chinese restaurant/take-out in the Midwest. All of the same dishes, bland flavors and high prices you can find anywhere. Their egg rolls are different than others. Made with peanut butter, they are very good. Thick, not greasy. My wife and I have been here numerous times, due to location convenience only. We have both taken a vow to try and avoid these places in the future due to our disappointment in the amount of money paid for average food. We will be back though. Stupid is as stupid does I guess!

Best Chinese food in the area & the owners are very nice! Dine-in, carry out & delivery. Love the egg rolls, crab Rangoon, fried rice & Mongolian chicken. Soooo good

It not the best but its not the worst. The prices are ok. the food is ok. I feel like this place is nothing to brag about. I had ordered the shrimp fried and crab ragoon and it just didn't wow me. But what's funny is that the best thing there is there mango smoothie and I feel that's the only reason I gave them three stars!! I'm not kidding that mango smoothie is delicious!!! I wouldn't go back per say for the food but I would go back for there smoothies.

you're not gonna get any better than this! This is the best chinese that i've had. Moved to Oswego so I have to drive a little further, but this place is good.

Great food!! Fast, fresh and excellent customer service!!! I had the mei fun which tends to be a hit and miss depending on restaurant. It was absolutely delicious!! If u are in the area this is a must go!!

Did not add one soy sauce or one sweet snd sour sauce to my bag . It was a $30 take out order . The food was standard American Chinese at above standard prices for what it is . Good smoothie though. What's with the weird , dirty and cluttered area to the left when you walk in ? Is that storage ? Waiting area? Office?

I've been going to Golden Sea for about 15 years. It's the best Chinese food in Illinois. It's my absolute favorite place. I order from there every week. When my daughter comes home from college, it's the first place she makes me take her. The owners are awesome, and know everyone by name. The orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and Phoenix chicken are outstanding. And the prices are really too cheap. The food is of better quality than what they charge.

Hands down...best Chinese food in the area. I live in Naperville now, and I will still drive 15 minutes to pick up Chinese take-out from Golden Sea. I used to live in the Aurora area, and this was the only Chinese restaurant around. Luckily for me, it's the only one that matters. Everything my family and I have tried has been steamy hot and tasty. Food is flavorful...fresh veggies and great portions. My kids love this place too. They compare all other Chinese food to this place, and hands down, they prefer Golden Sea. Our favorites are the wonton soup, shrimp egg foo young, Hong Kong steak and BBQ fried rice. In the summers, my kids love their fruit smoothies. The owners are genuinely great people too. Very friendly. As long as Golden Sea is around, I will keep coming back!

This place has the best Chinese food in the area as far as I know. The beef and green beans are good, their sesame chicken, egg rolls, noodles are good. Also, they don't load up their containers with onions and skimp on the meat like some other places. They can be a bit busy on the weekends, so order ahead of time.

I have been going here for over 20 years now and even after moving a few towns over we come here before any other Chinese place! I like the Chicken or Shrimp Subgum Chop Suey which I have a hard time finding at other places. I also order their Golden Sea fried rice to go with it. I have had other choices here as well that were good but that is my favorite. My wife is a fan of the Tomato, Pepper, Beef. Keep up the great work!

I love this place! I would have given 5 stars, but had a bad experience on Valentines Day this year. I used the online ordering and showed up 5-10 mins after I was told my good would be ready. When I showed up, my food hadn't even been made yet, I ended up waiting there for an hour! But, as for any other day I've eaten here, both the food and the service has always been great!

Awesome! Just went for first time. EXACTLY what I was looking for! Can't believe I've been driving past this place for 14 years! Took a previous reviewer's advice and went for the barbecue pork fried rice (except made it spicy) and the basic sweet and sour chicken. Delicious!!! Can't wait to try the Mongolian Beef!

I think I tried every Asian place within 20 minutes until we found this place. We have been there 6 times in the past couple months and have always had good stuff. Hot and Sour soup is incredible.

Really well done Chinese food. Nothing fancy, just really good. Sweet and sour is EXCELLENT.

The beef broccoli was great! So many veggies in there! Orange chicken was sweet and spicy. The egg drop soup was rich. I'd pass on the friend won tons. They give you a tom and they don't taste like anything. I just figured them have a surfing, but it was just fried noodles. We ordered online and everything was piping hot and ready very quickly. I'll go back!

Best Chinese dr food in the area. We get take out from here about twice a month. Pot stickers are steamed than fried :) Pork fried rice is excellent. I highly recommend the Kung pao dishes.

I've been going to Golden Sea for almost 14 years and this is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant. Their staff is so friendly and they always remember you. Best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Their food portions are very large and I always have lots to take home. I love their fried rice and egg rolls. I never had anything that I didn't like from their menu. I will always come to this restaurant whenever I want quality Chinese food.

NOT good :( we ordered Shrimp Lo Mein, Orange Chicken and Hunan Chicken. All of the food had a strange slimy coating on it. My husband put his shrimp Lo Mein in the garbage disposal right away. Will not be returning here.

Great Chinese Food. This is the best place in the Aurora/Naperville area. Friendly staff, nice portions, worth the drive. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming

There's no Chinese food like the Chinese food you ate growing up. Menus vary from restaurant to restaurant, and you'll go to a Chinese place that puts mixed vegetables in their fried rice and say "WTF?" I grew up with Golden Sea and it's the best. Lots of personal bias here, but I don't get why people in the Oswego/Aurora/Montgomery area would want to go anywhere else. Don't pass up the egg rolls or BBQ pork fried rice.

I recently moved to Aurora and I was looking for a good Chinese Rest. Golden Sea hits the mark. First off, they have great Egg Rolls. I always pick a good chinese rest by it's egg rolls. I usually get the Mongolian Beef and it is awesome. It's a bit spicy but I ask for it mild and they make it that way. The owners are very friendly and the service is very fast. Definitely worth a trip.

One of the best places in the area for Chinese....I wouldn't go anywhere else and haven't for the last 3 years!

I also grew up with Golden Sea and I think it's the best Chinese food around. I've only eaten in the restaurant once and it doesn't offer a great dining experience, but there's no one better for take out. They are fast, super nice, and vegetarian-friendly. I remember the days I could eat their beef fried rice, but I just transitioned to the mushroom fried rice and vegetarian egg rolls (both delicious). If you feel like eating Chinese, you will not be disappointed. It's also a great value for the portions you receive.

Our go-to chinese carry-out in Aurora (and we've tried them all). Every time you order, it couldn't be speedier (you're always told it will be ready in 5-10 minutes - and it is). Super friendly service. Good standard chinese fare - potickers, egg rolls, orange chicken, shrimp with lobster - all solid. If you're looking for high-end/gourmet chinese, you should keep looking. If you're looking for a consistent, quick, well-priced neighborhood location - look no further. If it helps, we eat there 3x a month.

Love Golden Sea! After much trial and error we have found Golden Sea is the best Chinese food around. Portions and price are right, plus the people are really nice. Would highly recommend.

I'm not even sure why other Chinese restaurants exist. Honestly. It does not get any better than Golden Sea. Before you shrug me off as a raving lunatic who seems to like Chinese a bit too much, even uncomfortably so, experience it for yourself. I am the definition of "regular" at this place, usually going once or twice a week. I'm not terribly proud of it, and I'm pretty sure they're sprinkling heroin into their gravy because their food is addicting. The restaurant is always very clean, and the team that runs it is about as friendly as it gets. The service can be questionable at times (but I'm a server, so I may just be picky), especially when it gets busy, but you're always greeted with a smile. Excuse me while I oil my thighs for the next segment.... THE FOOD Okay, I only eat one of three things whenever I go in, but I can attest that these recipes were made from the decendants of Zeus because it is fit for the gods themselves. The lunch portions are massive and pretty cheap, but I always spring for the dinners because 1) I'm not a fan of eggrolls sadly and 2) I'm a fat ass. Garlic Chicken - Sublime Kung Pao Chicken - Transcendent Curry Chicken - Rubbing it all over my naked body as we speak. One injustice is that they don't deliver, but I would probably be way out of their range anyway (Aurora is huge). Also, this place isn't open on Mondays, and a Monday without Chinese food is like a Friday without dressing up in a pig costume and rooting through garbage for sexual excitement. Wait... I mean.... It's just good, trust me.

Great Chinese-American food. I can't speak for the authenticity but we love Golden Sea and still sometimes get carryout here even though we have moved and other Chimese restaraunts are now closer.

I've been coming here on and off for years and must say this is the best Chop Suey the area has to offer in my opinion. We also had Mongolian beef and Egg foo young, all of which were excellent. The Beef fried rice although very good, may be a bit overpriced for the amount of protein in the dish, which coupled with no delivery lead me to consider a four star as opposed to five on the rating. The portions however, lend value to the price. The customer service has always been a cut above and when combined with great food, a best in class rating is in order.

My husband and I decided we needed to try a different Chinese restaurant, so I checked out yelps reviews and decided to give them a try. The food was finished in ten minutes which is always a plus when you can get it quick!! The crab rangoons were amazing and a great price!! The egg rolls were great too and had pork and shrimp inside. I got the chicken and broccoli and my husband got the Hunan beef. My chicken was a bit bland, but my husbands has great flavor. On the menu it said spicy, which I thought it was the perfect amount, but he wanted more spice. I was a little disappointed that they only gave us one box of rice since we ordered two entrees, but it was a bigger box than we normally get. I would definitely order from them again, but I would get myself something more flavorful for sure!!

I went here on a whim heavily influenced by my Neice who likes to eat noodles (I will get to that). First, I've Never had tomatoes in vegetable fried rice before. :-/ minus the 2 tomato chunks, the veg fried rice was not bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Crab rangoons = cheese cream in a deep fried wonton. My chicken Kung pao was nice (sauce wise) but the chicken did not taste fresh/ was too thick and dry (tastes like it was cooked too fast, which can leave a heavy poultry smell). The water chestnuts in the Kung pao chicken were old and tasted slightly sour. Now for the noodles, at this restaurant Lo mein was described to me as thin noodles when ordering so we were shown a picture of the egg noodles that had chicken and veggies. The noodles were good, but the chicken had the same problem as the kung pao, dry and smelled like poultry. The Mongolian beef was very soft and tender, came out sizzling on a skillet with onions and mushrooms etc. (no complaints) Per the past reviews, I tried the watermelon smoothie and it was on point! Amazing smoothie. I haven't explored any of the seafood options here, but am optimistic, so I might come back for that only. Service, our waitress was quick, accommodating and helpful.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
