Mandarin chicken is great. The hot and sour soup is great too. If you expect American Chinese food, you'll love it. If you are expecting traditional Chinese food, then you will be disappointed unless you pick very carefully from the menu.

This place is probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. It's overpriced and the food is disgusting. Service was pretty good but overall a terrible experience.

As Shakespeare might have said, "a Fong's by any other name would taste as sweet (and sour)." New Fong's is pretty much identical to old Fong's, just in a new and slightly cleaner building. This is an Americanized, fast food version of Chinese food. As unoriginal as the name "New Fong's," the food often tastes like it's been pre-cooked in volume and is not always super fresh. Nevertheless, it can sometimes hit the spot and give you that sodium-laced Chinese food fix you crave. The No. 5 lunch special (Mandarin Chicken & Chow Mein-$5.95) is a local favorite. It's an inexpensive place to take your family for dinner. Like most Chinese places, when you order takeout, you always get more than your moneys worth.

Food = okay. Prices = :(. Service was great though.

Definitely not the best Chinese food you can get, but for Rexburg it does make a place to consider for a night out. It is always empty, you can go at anytime.

First of all, the menu of New Fongs, on paper, looks very similar to regular Fongs. However, I've tried several things at both restaurants and in every case, it's better at New Fongs. It's definitely become my go-to Chinese place in Rexburg. The orange chicken here is really good, the sauce is tangy and not too sweet. Another favorite is the hot and sour soup, which is among the best I've had anywhere. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. But my husband and I have tried many other things on the menu (sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoon, chicken almond ding, General Tsao's chicken, pork fried rice, potstickers...) and none have disappointed! Service here is pretty prompt, and the prices are fair. I love that you can order the lunch specials all day for only .50 more. Don't be disappointed by Fongs and think that the food is exactly the same at New Fongs, because everything is better here!

Just like Fongs, New Fongs is mediocre Chinese food that satisfies a craving but won't "wow" you. They use a generic pink sauce on almost every dish but the portions are generous and it will satisfy until you can escape Rexburg.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken is better here than Fongs but I fee like the General Tsao's chicken is better at Fongs. The two are similar but both pretty equal. The egg rolls are impressive as well!

I love their food. This is a must stop for me when I come to Rexburg. I won't eat Chinese food at home in San Diego or anywhere else I go. I like the mandarin chicken. It's an inexpensive, very yummy meal.

If you think Chinese food all comes with sweet and sour sauce then this is the place for you. Otherwise this is the worse Chinese food I have ever had.

This is the WORST restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. The people who rate this as good are starving college students who don't care about quality. I got the sesame chicken. It literally tasted like the chicken had been microwaved and the sauce had no flavor. It tasted like water and sugar. It was so gross. I was so sick after. My friends and I came to eat on empty stomachs. One of them threw up after. I seriously don't know how they can even stay open. It was so nasty. The inside feels so odd too. You'll regret it, don't go!

Has to be some of the worst Chinese I've ever had. I don't think there was anything wrong with the service, it's just the food is awful. It's very overpriced even if it wasn't so bad.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
