Absolutely amazing food. I ordered the steak and BBQ chicken....quite possibly the best BBQ I've ever had. We also ordered the rattlesnake bites as an appetizer. I would come back again just for those! Great food! Excellent service. We will definitely come back when we travel back through here.

A friend from Texas said that Texas Roadhouse is the El Torito of steak houses but that was after we had dined here, so it didn't quite help me. First things first and that is if you're a server and are somewhat lagging you do not tell the customers that are waiting for food that the reason you were lagging was because you were talking to some "regulars." It make us non-regulars not like you. That's just an FYI. The portions at this place are huge and hearty. I had something called the "Road Kill" smothered in mushrooms, cheese, and sauce and split a platter that had their boneless wings, jalapeño poppers, etc. Their drinks are slightly oversized - I had their sangria, which was good, but was gone too soon. I am disappointed that they have many prominent alcohols on display on their menu, but because they're a chain they don't actually have them in stock. I wanted something made with Tito's vodka and just got a blank look. I did order a craft brew and was told that I was just second person to order craft brew, because the locals like their shitty beers. Anyways, the meal was very filling - like, beyond filling and when it was time to go to sleep I burped my way to dreamland. I don't think I will be back anytime soon. P.S. The rolls were great.

I am a culinary school grad with an associates degree and a sous chef. I came here on a Sunday afternoon with my fiancé for lunch. We ordered the Hurricane Margarita with Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. The short tempered and rushed bartender took our orders. Way too strong. I didn't even finish half my drink and I had to stop. We both ordered the 8 oz sirloin cooked to medium rare (warm red center) with mashed potatoes and a cup of chili. Not going to give much critique because it is Texas Roadhouse but the steaks we received were probably cooked for a minute as we cut into them they were blue (cool and almost raw... VERY VERY rare) we didn't finish and told the bartender who took our order it was ok, just make sure it's better next time. She had a very sassy attitude the whole time and was too busy chatting it up with girl friend at the bar to come check on us often. Like I said, it's just Texas Roadhouse but it could be a lot better!

It's been a couple of years since my last visit to the Texas Roadhouse but it won't be long before I'm back. Excellent service and the food was even better. The ribs were delicious and the side salad and sweet potato were yummy too. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and that was also very tasty. No wonder the place is very busy.

Thoroughly disgusted they put Texas on the sign. Overcooked steak, wilted salad, hard baked potato. How do you even screw that up? They replaced my overcooked steak with another overcooked steak, sorry, medium rare does not have a small ribbon of pink surrounded by brown. 2 stars for the waitress. Very nice. The area is slim on steakhouses, but I've found if you hit the T at the right time, it's not bad.

I was the first group in the door (3). With me was a teenager and my adult son. The entire restaurant was empty. Before I realized it since my youngest was in front he was seated in the bar area which I don't like to do while the kids are under age. He's old enough I suppose and just got in the seat when it was pointed out to him. I didn't like it but, choose to live with it. They waitress came up and set out the speech. High pitched voice, a bit of what I think Malibu Barbie would sound like. The greeting was scripted and spoken like it was. I mentioned to her "Well, you have that down pat." And smiled. Another bit of scripted speech right off the page came back and we ordered. I've been to Texas Roadhouses in Billings, Montana and West Virginia both great experiences. Wanted my 16 year old who loves steaks to experience it. We put our orders in and waited. Two of the sides were wrong and we told the food deliverer so (I hate that, I want my waitress there I'm tipping the wait person right?). The sides were corrected. Not once during our meal did the waitress return to refill drinks. She stood and spoke to what I figured were regulars. When she was flying by once we were able to grab her. We asked for refills just as we were finishing the meal. Seven minutes later they came. In the meantime, I'm watching 4 people at the hostess stand yucking it up. I asked for the check and it came right away. Every time the waitress came to the table all I got was a scripted speech. It was really grating. If it has to be that scripted why not just put a talking computer screen on the table? I hate to admit it I'm normally a 20% tipper for good service but not this time. I wrote some of my complaints on the back of the check (I had forgotten about the wrong food with the sides) and left a $1 tip. I mean everyone deserves a buck for showing up right :) Some personality would help too. Scratchy radio music, what happened to the dancing don't they do that anymore?

I know it's a chain, but it's our favorite restaurant in town. The wait staff is always super friendly, and the food is awesome. The steak is amazing, and it's usually cooked perfectly. If it's not, they don't mind re-doing it. The caesar salad is great, and perhaps the best thing is the hot rolls with cinnamon butter. We always get extra and take a few home. I the evenings, sometimes the wait for a table is kinda long, but it's worth it once you get the margarita! Delicious. Texas Roadhouse does dining in Pocatello right.

This is 2 stars for the service only in this particular Texas Roadhouse. I realize it is a chain, and I have had good food at other locations. The Pocatello Texas Roadhouse food is pretty terrible. This is the 4th time that I've been here and each time it has gotten worse. This is the worst prime rib I've ever had. It came out cold, and tough. Each steak I've ordered here has been sub par. I don't write many reviews, i do NOT like being negative, but I'd suggest somewhere else. The only reason we come here is because my elderly mother really likes it. I will just eat something else next time she wants to have food from here. I will say the service is friendly! To me that goes a long way, but when you partner it with the food? It just is NOT worth the money!

A big draw for me is the rolls. They didn't have any rolls today, I was told because the guy who makes the rolls called in sick. Why is there only one guy who knows how to make rolls? The bathroom is the worst bathroom ever in a chain restaurant. Dirty, smelly, and the towel holder is crooked on the wall. I got a steak today and there was one of those plastic temperature indicators melted and stuck to the bottom of the steak. I didn't even notice it until I cut into that part of the steak. The only good thing about my visit today was the service. The staff there is super friendly and if I return it will be because of them.

They have Odells on tap. That makes me happy. The waitresses are good looking too! Their food is ok, and the pulled pork is decent. I call this place "Texas Salt House". I always have to pound the water when I eat here.

Staff was great!! But we always tell ppl its our first time when it is, so we usually get nice service. With that said ...those are NOT rib eyed steaks! You don't brine a rib eye, they're naturally tender! Why are they charging for a Rib Eyed steak and serving cuts that aren't correct? Corporate greed? Idk but it should be illegal to call that place a steakhouse. It def is not what it used to be! When the flavor of brine over powers the Smokey grill taste get up and leave. Don't even pay. Just leave the false steak there and walk away. Shame on u ppl for thinking this is a steak house.

About on par with other chain restaurants, even if its the only one that tolerates, nay, encourages you to throw stuff on the floor (well, peanut shells... not sure if they would be as thrilled with other food stuffs). The service was okay; seems like our server had a few too many tables, and the hostess station was a bit too over-staffed (c'mon, four?). And when the Montana Grizzlies buses (three of 'em) arrived loaded with college football players, heaven help any other customers hoping to get seated, as all four of our ponytail-wearing young ladies were hovering at the counter batting their baby blues and giggling as though each and every player had just told a witty and slightly bawdy tale. Food was okay, nothing exceptional but also a welcome departure from the fast food that tends to be a cornerstone of a road trip focused on racking up miles with the quickness. Only took a minute to finally leave once we got the attention of the nearest dancing server to let us out from our table.

I do not know what has changed about the Roadhouse here but you should pass. Head to BW's, Applebee's, Red Lobster, or Chili's. They are all about the same price and at least you will get warm food and staff without a chip on their shoulders that might have bathed in the new millineum. The only reason I gave it 2 stars were the peanuts and bread were good. My family and I used to love coming here now not so much. This place needs a little more hands on management. The Roadhouse in Billings, and Idaho Falls are far more superior.

First I want to register my indignation that Pocatello got a Texas Roadhouse before Portland, Oregon! However, since I was in Pocatello over the weekend visiting The Mom I am glad one was there. Texas Roadhouse is one of those chains that just seems to get it, they know what people want and they give it to them. So many could take lessons from this place. Some people say it is an Outback Steakhouse without the accent, but these people are wrong. I have learned in my travels that comparing anything Texas to something foreign is dangerous if you happen to be among real Texans. However, no chance of that happening here because Texas Roadhouse headquarters are in KENTUCKY! But hey, c'mon, would you stop at a Kentucky Roadhouse? Me either. As you walk in you are confronted with a metal washtub full of peanuts, therefore if you have a peanut allergy this place could be trouble for you. Expect to wait, this place can be busy. Since we were with The Mom and a friend of hers we were eating rather early and one plus was we had no wait. Menus are on the table already and stay there, which is something I like a lot, so often I want to refer back to the menu or just read it more in detail, too many places whisk it away so fast you're lucky not to get a cut from the edge of the menu. I spotted one problem right off the bat, the artificial sweetener box had pink and blue packets, but no yellow packets. Normally this is a star off in my book, but for some reason I overlooked it and made due with blue instead of yellow. The servers have the same shirt as a uniform, on the back it says "I Love My Job", this always cracks me up for some reason. Good marketing! Comely nubile young female server takes our drink orders and was back quicker than lightening with drinks. My iced tea was served in a tall glass... and no spoon to stir it with. I made due with my steak knife. I could have bothered them for a spoon, but hey, sometimes I just don't feel like being high maintenance. She took our orders at the same time. Quite a variety of food at our table of four. The Mom got a combo with pulled pork and ribs; The Mom's friend got a fillet; Brother #2 (I am #3) got the rib eye steak and I went with the full slab of ribs (see photos). Well, if you haven't figured it out for now I really like this place. One reason is the ribs are meat falling clean off the bone tender. The barbecue beans are tangy and firm. The Caesar salad isn't anything to scream about, but for one without anchovy paste it is pretty darn good. Brother #2 had a rib eye that was perfectly cooked and tender. I tried some of The Mom's pulled pork and it melted in your mouth. The rolls you get with a honey/cinnamon butter are highly addictive and I wish I could tell you about their desserts but by the end of a slab of ribs there just is no way. One day I must try the Apple Pie. Maybe in place of the salad? Texas Roadhouse from Kentucky just frickin' rocks! There is no other way to put it.

wow a lot of hate from the other reviews. The place is awesome minus the birthday crap (don't let them know its your birthday or you will end up looking like an ass clown) House salad is the bomb don't think you can find a place with better ranch. The prime rib is amazing! A few times they have been out of prime rib for the night. It makes you feel like you live in a third world country where you can't get prime rib.... Rolls are tasty and the sides are good. For what you get the price is great. As far as your options in this town if you want some good prime rib go here. One other thing one time the waitress brought the wrong steak they were very apologetic and fixed the issue quickly.

Sorry.. I'm a stake snob...When I can grill a better stake at home and fresh sweat potatoes, corn on the cob, baked beans,.. Well you get my point. I won't wast my money here.. Standard chain restaurant. I think Golden Corral grills a better stake..

Outstanding service.......Sara is one of the best waitresses we have ever had. I had the half rack of ribs....fall off the bone delicious and my wife had the catfish.....absolutely wonderful. We will definitely head back there next time through Pocatello. I wish we had a place like this in Canada!

Usually this restaurant chain has excellent steaks and service. We ate at Pocatello's a few weeks ago. The cheese fries were cold and hard. I had to send my filet back to be cooked but it was too full of gristle to eat My sons shrimp were raw. Also, our waitress was pretty much absent. We were SO disappointed! I highly recommend Texas Roadhouse as long as you don't eat at the one in Pocatello!

We stopped here for a late lunch, so the place was almost empty. Service was very good. Enjoyed the peanuts and bread. Meals would have been very good EXCEPT that all of our plates were sprinkled with a generous amount of rock salt. BBQ meats and sauces tend to be salty to begin with, so the added salt was over the top. The first few bites were fine (the beef was really tender and tasty), but by the end of the meal we all felt like we had been poisoned. Don't get me wrong--I generally love salty food, and so do my kids, but this was too much even for us. One of my kids threw up his entire meal just after finishing it. That being said, if you want to give Texas Roadhouse a try, ask in advance about the rock salt; if you ask them to hold it you might have a very good experience.

As far as chain restaurants go, this is better than most. The steaks are decently prepared, though not especially flavorful. The sides are just okay, and I've had much better ribs. Be warned: the locals love this place, and it can get crowded on weekends. Overall, I'd say that the food is decent but overpriced. If you're looking for a nice night out, you could do much better, even in Pocatello.

Generally, I don't keep large chain restaurants at the top of my list because they are plastic, impersonal, and the quality of food is very hit-or-miss. In Pocatello, however, there isn't much beyond the big chains. And the mom and pops haven't impressed me much. That in mind, if I'm looking for a really nice quality dinner, I come to the Roadhouse. I do like a good hunk of meat. This place is fairly new to Poky and it certainly hasn't lost it's novelty on the locals. It's busy at all hours, every day. Waits are common at dinner rush hours. This is Pocatello, so don't even think about going to any restaurant in this town on a Saturday night without expecting a long wait. As far as ambiance goes, it's kitschy, it's tacky, it has plastic cacti. Every hour a certain song plays and the poor unfortunate waitstaff gather in the center of the room to line dance. Granted, this may not seem out of place in Idaho, but I'm originally from Chicago and I feel embarrassed just watching them dance (especially the guys). As far as quality goes, it's surprisingly high. We've diner several times here and have not had any complaints. The Dallas Filet is pleasantly juicy and tender. Price is good for the quality. As a former Chicago girl I know a good rib, and these ribs rank well. We witnessed a table with a single fella get forgotten by his waitress. For those with little buckaroos, the kids menu is reasonable and the drinks are free. Try the bowl of Chili. It's nice and spicy. The waitstaff can be a little slow on busy days, but considering it's a big place, I'm not surprised. Typically they have been friendly to us. Noise level is very high in this restaurant, so don't expect a romantic date.

This is the only steakhouse in the area where I'll eat. I haven't been a big fan of Siz_ler for some time - they have a great salad bar, but the steaks are generally small, dry and tasteless. The Texas Roadhouse on the other hand, has always produced very good steaks, properly prepared to order. They're proud enough of their meat to display it in a refrigerated case near the entrance. The staff has always been courteous and attentive. I'm not a big fan of the dancing, or the fanfare when someone has a birthday, but some people are into that type of kitschy stuff. I have had a plethora of meats from chicken-fried chicken to ribs and of course steaks - all have been wonderful. As far as price, you can probably get a steak this good cheaper if you buy it and cook it yourself, and then is it going to be prepared as well? I feel that the prices charged are in-line with any other restaurant in the area.
