LOVE the coffee here! I visited Perkins after a really long time and the coffee was just as good as I remember it. The food portions were quite large too, and the service was fine. Don't expect exquisite taste, although what we ordered turned out to be not bad at all (half tuna salad sandwich & tomato soup, and a veggie omelette with pancakes).

Slow and poor service with mediocre food. We, a party of two stopped in on a Thursday evening at 8:00. It took more than 15 minutes to even be seated and there was less than 15 patrons in the restaurant at the time. Once seated, it took another 15-20 minutes for our waitress to even address us. When our food came out, there was a very visible hair comingled with my hashbrowns. It was obvious before my first bite! When the waitress FINALLY came back to the table I showed her and she literally tried to convince me that it wasn't a hair....terrible, terrible service. Needless to say, I didn't eat my meal but was charged for it anyway. Will not be going back and will not recommend to anyone.

Almost did not stop because of the bad reviews but we are glad we did. After being on the road so long it was nice to come into such a welcoming establishment. Our server Jerrica was so nice and did a wonderful job. Food was hot and taste was wonderful. Thank you

Standard chain-food fare, but consistent and satisfying. Breakfast is particularly good. But I have never seen such poor service; on my last (very last) visit, the waiter outright ignored me for so long I had to go up to the counter and tell the cashier what I ate so I could pay the bill. Then she got snotty because I didn't have the ticket. I've never come so close to walking out of a place without paying. This is not a typical Perkins Restaurant which are generally good; this one is just very poorly run.

Ah, Perkins. You and I have known each other for years. You are familiar, warm, and full of cookies. Like Grandma, only more processed. When I have no where else to turn to, there you are. You're even there for me when I travel to strange places...like Utah. I like Perkins. I will never object to heading to a Perkins. However, Perkins is never a first choice. Perkins is a haven for hotel guests and Family visiting the area. The food quality is okay, the wait staff is okay, and the hours are great for a sleepy town like Pocatello. Not too much out there is open past sunset, especially on a Sunday. Sad but true. In comparing to similar restaurants, for lunch and dinner fare, I much prefer Perkins to IHoP or Denny's. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but Husband is and he much prefers IHoP to Perkins. Go figure. Best part about Perkins? The waitstaff give my toddler a free warm cookie just for batting his long eyelashes. Now that's something Grandma would do if she were alive today.

My wife and I and some friends ate here and it was okay the food was regular nothing outstanding it's just good old comfort food The pies are also okay nothing really stood out but they do have a couple that taste good. I would suggest this restaurant if you want something that you really could get on your own at home and you just don't want to cook.

Nice short walk from the local hotels. Great ambient atmosphere, not too noisy since they have the areas slightly separated from eachother. Have a decent selection off food and a friendly staff. Have been here a few times while out visiting family in the area. Nothing in particular stands out, but I can't think of anything negative. We'll be coming by again the next time we're in town.

We were travelling from Bountiful to Rexburg, ID and stopped to eat along the way in Pocatello. We knew about Perkins, so we just expected a decent meal at a decent price. My husband ordered the cod with asparagus and rice on the side. He kept commenting on how good the asparagus was. I also had the asparagus, along with my jumbo fried shrimp, and some broccoli. I liked that they gave you a choice of sides, because I really did not want the usual french fries or anything else that was fattening. Our daughter ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which she said was very good. All in all a good experience. When paying my bill, I mentioned to the manager that the Perkins in our hometown in MD had closed due to competition. I did notice that there were just a few people eating there. I hope they can stay in business. We would visit again. Oh, and the pies are great!

I spent a week in Pocatello, Idaho on business. Did not really have much time to find the cool places to eat so I ended up eating most of my meals at Perkins. Kind of boring I know but I was more interested in getting to the gym. The breakfasts at Perkins are great. I usually order breakfast items when I go for dinner too. I did eat at an authentic Mexican Restuarant one day for lunch but I do not remember the name. I was expecting to go back to Pocatello but I ended up changing jobs and it never happened.

The stars I give this is for the food. It tasted just great. Yes, it's comparable to Denny's but I like Denny's. Their baked goods are what bumped it up a star. No, not completely home made tasting but also not Marie calendar tasting. Thicker and warmer than that. I had a pineapple upside down muffin that was super sweet and delicious. Now the cons. Service was semi slow. Not horribly but enough that I was begining to get frustrated. Then, over by the bathroom and kitchen area was a HORRIFIC smell! I am sure it was from a problem that the restraunt was dealing with or had dealt with as they weren't seating people over on that side but it was enough that I refused to use the restroom before my drive back to Utah and ran into the gas station across the street. I dare say it was the result of a plumbing issue or standing water at one point??? Anyways signs would have been nice informing the public that it was dealt with (or maybe this is normal??) but it was bad! We couldn't smell it at our table so not to much harm done. I probably won't pick this place as a first choice next time we come through but overall I'm satisfied

The adult grilled cheese was mediocre. The fries were crisp (pro) but very bland (huge con). They burnt both of my daughter's burgers. The waitress said that they look like normal burgers to her. Maybe she burns hers too? Either way I insisted on them getting replacements. They got a kids grilled cheese (which sadly was scores better than mine) and chicken fingers. Both the replacements were good which is the only reason they're getting two stars instead of one star. Waitress also didn't refill our drink once without me sending for her to specifically refill them.

I ate at the restaurant at around 8:00 on a Sunday morning, and it really wasn't very crowded. The staff was very friendly. The service was good, and the food was good. I will definitely go back.

Stopped there for breakfast this am, the food was just okay, but the service was awful. No greeting, Camille took us to a booth, slapped down the menus and walked away, and that was the best part of the service. Not even a thank you when we paid the bill. We are visiting the area and this lack of hospitality is quite uncommon for Pocatello, I think.

Perkin's looks just like a Denny's and that's okay. I had the French Toast and it was great and simple. I believe this was one of those days that we just ate crap at in terms of sweets. Oh, and to cut the sugar overload of the french toast, we ordered some hash browns. Service was quick and friendly and it's also across the street from the motel I stayed in.
