Hands down my favorite restaurant in Pocatello. Their salt and pepper calamari is to DIE for. Their soups are good enough to eat 7 days a week. The service is great. The décor is dated, but who cares! They have a large dining room off to the side with large tables and a lot of room. We have family birthday parties there every year. My husband is probably the only person I the world who isn't a Chinese food fan, but even he loves the fried rice and soups.

LOVE this place! If you eat here you have to order egg rolls. I've literally searched at dozens of chinese food places all across the US throughout the years to find egg rolls like they have here, have not been able to find any. They'er not like the little rice paper wrapped rolls (that I'm sure are delivered frozen by the local Sysco food service) you find everywhere else. These are huge and handmade. Everything on the menu is pretty greasy, it's kind of old school chinese diner food. But it's really good and you get huge servings for your money. Their Fried rice is spectacular. Really good chow mein too (though I'm not much of a chow mein fan). I live in Utah now but whenever I'm in Poky to visit family, this is where I eat. My favrite place in Pocatello to eat.

Awful. Just plain. Awful. Ordered shrimp egg foo young...it consisted of two large "rounds" of mush. No vegetables, no beat sprouts in it and the shrimp simply thrown on top. The shrimp were at least warm. The egg foo young mush was not. The fried rice has no seasonings. There were red shreds of some kind of meat product in it but it was tasteless. My daughter's chicken almond ding? Had no chicken in it...just celery and water chestnuts and four pieces of rubbery "chicken" about 1/8" by1/8th". This is not chinese food. The waiter never checked on us and forgot mt daughter's drink. When I asked for the check he the asked how it was. I told him it was the worst egg foo young I have ever had. He laughed and said that this was their version, so customer satisfaction is not a concern. Won't be back.

We go here every time we travel through Pocatello. The food is always delicious and exactly as described/ordered. Really fast service even when busy. Pot Stickers and House Fried Rice are beyond yummy. Can't wait to go back.

Mandarin is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. They have fast service and good food. I usually order the lunch special 13 and yes they even let me order it during dinner hours. They have large portions sizes and an added bonus, come products. I recommend you try them out.

It kills me to do write this. But a long time customer, but probably won't go back again. I ordered the Double Spicy Pork Special, it was bacon that was 90% FAT, that they charged $9.00 for. It was literally fatty bacon that had a soft texture to it, almost like it was boiled. Taking my money next door.

This is my FIL's favorite restaurant, so once a year on his birthday I am forced to endure their food. The sweet and sour chicken is chicken nuggets, served with that nasty pink "sweet and sour" sauce. And that is the best dish on the menu. Last week (happy birthday FIL!) I tried the wonton soup. It was bland and the wontons appeared to be stuffed with water chestnuts. Just water chestnuts. I'm baffled... If you want good Chinese in Pocatello, go to Chang's Garden.

They serve the standard "Chinese" food that you find in the American midlands. It's good if you're hungry, but it's nothing special. Their service is always very good, though, and the food is consistent. But what I really like is how you can order takeout via their website ( mandarinhouse.takeout1.c… ). You can select your dishes (they even have pictures of most things), choose your options (e.g. curry/no curry on the low mein), and pay all online. You then go and pick up your order at whatever time you've chosen. It works amazingly well. I've done it several times, and my order has always been correct and ready on-time.

Best Chinese food in Pocatello hands down. I believe it is one of the oldest standing as well. Kevin the manager is a great guy. The food is excellent! Check out the pork lo mein spicy! Goooood Stuff. This is a classic Pocatello restaurant and has some great lunch specials!

Service was really fast, which is about the only good thing I can say. I had sweet and sour chicken and it reminded me of chicken McNuggets with canned sweet and sour sauce poured over. It was not impressive. Prices are reasonable, but I guess you get what you pay for. Food was uninspiring.

Nothing special. Big portion and it gave me the Chinese Restaurant Syndrome. Too much MSG otherwise it's good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
