Went there for lunch. We sat down at 12:15 wasn't served until 12:50. We ordered two half salads and one salad and sandwich. I know places get busy but the lunch time wasn't busy at all when we showed up:( I'm looking forward to dinner as I didn't have time to consume all of my salad.

I still can't believe this is a chain. We stopped by here on our way home from Idaho. The reviews were the best we could find in Pocatello, so we figured it was worth a visit. Both of us are planning to start eating healthy (starting today), so this was our last all out fatty food stop. We went all out. Goat Cheese Queso, Stockman Pizza (with steak, pepporoni, bacon, and all sorts of other stuff), and a Grizzly Burger with pepper jack cheese and bacon. The Goat Cheese Queso came out first and it was fantastic. If I could learn to make this dip I would be a hit at every party I went to. I'm not sure what made it so good, but it was nice and creamy and tasted amazing. We ate just about the whole thing before the rest of the meal came out, and even when the meal came out we were scraping the skillet with our fries and pizza crust to try and get the last drops of goodness from it. The pizza was good. We split a small and both really enjoyed it. It wasn't quite as enticing as the picture on Yelp makes it look, but it was very good. The burger was good, but not great. I personally don't like really thick burgers because I can't really taste anything other than meat on them. The bacon was huge, thick strips, that were a little overcooked, but still very good. If I had to choose between the burger and the pizza I would go pizza all the way. The queso and pizza was more than enough food for the two of us, so don't feel that you need to order 2 giant dishes plus an appetizer. Overall this was a very positive visit and I was stunned to learn that it was a chain. Hopefully they will open one around SLC soon, because it definitely beats all the other dinner chains around. I'm sure we will be back in the future as it's perfectly located off the freeway and has some really great food.

I am officially a fan of this place! I came for lunch and ordered a salad. My sister ordered the soup and salad lunch deal. Our salads came out quick and I absolutely loved my salad. I thought it was great. But it took an additional 30 minutes to get my sisters soup. Now it would have been annoying, but the waitress recognized that we had been waiting forever and she offered me a free bowl of soup. It was great customer service! The food was good and fairly priced. Being slow would be the only complaint, and could be a problem when it is really busy. But overall I would recommend this place for sure!

What a Surprise! A quality regional chain. I had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon with real mashed potatoes and veggies (and a Greek Salad). DELICIOUS! Thanks MacKenzie's!

The part of a new experience is having someone like Nick at the bar help you wade through the menu and give suggestions that were not only delicious but just right. Good place for a beer and pizza which was one on the best I've had, the stockman.

This is a little jewel of a place nestled in a developing little corner of Pocatello. The Mom and the Official Brother of this Yelp Elite were looking for something new while gathering some parts in town while visiting Mom. The place looked interesting and we decided to take a chance. We walked in and liked the wood interior and even the boat hanging in the dining area. Service was excellent and attentive without hovering. The Official Brother and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza while Mom went the salad route. The wait was short and the pizza looked wonderful and tasted pretty good. I was expecting a little more of a buffalo taste, but it was there, I just like more, so next time I'll ask for extra. Ice tea was fresh, the Official Brother liked the beer selection and Mom enjoyed the rabbit food. Great place to visit right off the Highway behind the WalMart off the 86.

Great food as always. And Justin was a very good server. I had a spinach salad and the small bbq pork thin crust pizza (I could only eat half). The willow creek sandwich is my husband's fave and always good.

Apparently this a new-ish chain restaurant in the vein of BJ's & Gordon Biersch (for those familiar with L.A. eateries) but, in my humble opinion, MacKenzie buries them. They have a very cool and eclectic regional craft brew selection on draft and in bottle formats. At this particular stop I had a pint of the Highland Scotch Ale and then a flight sampler of their other brews before capping it off with a pint of the Samuel Adams Grumpy Monk, which is part of their "Rotator" series in that they have certain brews from certain beermakers brewed especially for them. Oh, and as far as food goes, I had the the "lodgepoles," which are pizza crusts baked with mozzarella cheese and dipping sauce(s). I also had the Buffalo Mac N' Cheese. Stellar stuff. A note to potential customers they don't yet have their liquor license, so they only serve beer and wine and with a craft brew collection like this, why would you want anything else?

Not as impressed as others. Took 30 minutes after food was ordered to get served. Reuben had very little Kraut and was burnt. Won't be coming back.

I've been here a couple times with very different experiences. The service at dinner time was terrible, and it was packed. At lunch time, we were the first people in the restaurant, and we actually got great service, and they had a $2 canned beer special. The food is very good. Pulled pork sammy was moist and very tasty. Decent selection of beer and wine. After my terrible first experience here, I planned on never returning. But since another restaurant I wanted to go to for lunch wasn't open yet, I decided to acquiesce and try Mckenzie River again, and I'm glad I did.

I was impressed by the beer selection; it was nice to find a place that doesn't consider shock top a craft brew or has only one or two items. The food came out quickly and while tasty, the Mediterranean soup was super salty and the vegetables cooked almost to mush. I would stick to their signature pizza next time.

OMG what an incredible meal! We had the meat loaf and the pear blue cheese flat bread. This was far superior than any other chain restaurant I have ever eaten at. BTW ask for the waitress with the green haired Mohawk, she does an incredible job

Yum-o! The menu is huge and diversified. We came for dinner on a Saturday and it was busy but there was no wait. Party of five and we were THAT group: one in a wheelchair and one in a high chair. Seating was no issue. Food: goat cheese queso. Do not pass this one by. Sooooo good. We also had the lasagna, MacKenzie Alfredo, cheese ravioli, bbq pizza, and the flatbread pizza. Its all good, could easily recommend each. Portions are big! Janet was our server- spunky gal full of personality. She was spread a little thin tonight (hey management - just because she can handle it doesn't mean you should give her so many tables). She is a bolt of entertainment with every stop at our table. We had a lot of fun celebrating our daughter's birthday. Only downside ... the bathrooms needed attention. And that's all im going to say about that.

Great food! I had spinach salad with chicken. Very filling. Dressing was on the side so you get to dress it yourself. Hubby had the buffalo Mac and cheese. I had to sample and found it hard to stop. Party of 6 and everyone was super impressed with their food.

Was in Idaho Falls for one night and hit this place (the Idaho Falls location obviously) for some pizza and beers. We sat at the bar and had a great time - food was excellent and the service better. Thanks for the bottlecap!

Food: Pulled pork nachos. Best nachos in my life. Only thing I could dock them for is that the jalapenos are the canned/pickled kind and they aren't too good. Fresh ones are 10x better, though, most people are wusses and can't take those. The chips were actually good and not flat, stale and salty like the ones at BWW. They run these through the oven, so some of the cheese on the sides is a little over done -- either don't eat that small part or tough it out. I tried some of my date's thai pie (i've tried it once before) I'm not a fan. None of it was bad, but I don't "get IT" I guess. It's a pizza answer to a pizza question I never asked. Beer: Forgot what IPA I had, but it was strong and tasty for just a standard IPA. They do tasters here which is really helpful in getting a pint of something you'd like. They seem to be skimpy on strong beers (~9% ABV and up) but I've always managed to get something tasty here whenever I can visit. Service: Great. The food is so much better that their nearby competitor and they're pro second amendment. Beer and the service is about the same. It's also not boat horn loud here either.

Visiting for company business. What a surprise. Something for everyone and it's all good. Great beer selection, friendly staff, nice ambiance. Yay my new favorite place to eat in Pocatello!

this place is really a top-of-the line chain restaurant. Interior is nice and new inside. The bar has one of the best selections of regional craft brews in Pocatello, both on draft + bottles and cans. I had the meatball sandwich, which was good pub food- albeit unconventional (i never had one with Ricotta cheese on it!). Service was really good as well. The downside is that this place looks like it gets very busy at times. Not sure if reservations are accepted, but it might be worth checking into.

I don't get all the fuss. I have tried a couple of pizzas, several burgers and sandwhiches, salads, and soups. The food is just okay, it's nothing spectacular, and is overpriced compared to restaurants in the area serving similar food. The atmosphere is really nice, which may be why people are willing to pay the prices, but honestly, you can get better for less. We stopped going after sampling a number of things as stated. When we go out, we want a little more than just okay.

Been to Mackenzie River about a dozen times now. Fish taco appetizer, Rancher Pizza, Smokehouse Burger, and Mack Lovin' are our go to items on the menu. Always great service.

On vacation and don't know the area at all. Drove by and decided to eat here. So glad we did! We went in at 6:30 on a Saturday. It was really busy but we got seated right away. The service was great. Our waitress checked on us several times. Topped our drinks off without us asking. She was great! On to the food. We had fish taco skewers as an apetezier. They were awesome! Great flavor with a little kick to it. Husband and I both got small salads. Greek and cobb. Both loaded in flavor. Then we got a small pizza. I think it was called the clubhouse. It was good but honestly we were just so full by the time the pizza came. The crust was amazing ,cooked perfectly. We just might eat there again before we leave town.

Love this place most of the time. Great selection of beers- really love the Idaho Brewing Company beers they bring in. The Scotch ale is fabulous. The pizza is always perfect and piping hot. The burgers are huge and perfectly cooked. *Only complaint is- Sometimes the service rocks and sometimes it is really bad.

Great variety of choices with great tasting food. Have had excellent service each visit I've been as well. The only downside is this place is so popular that wait times during the weekends can get long. Hope they continue their performance!

All I can say is AWESOME! We have eaten here many times and haven't had a bad meal yet. Some of our favs are: the Willow Creek sandwich, Hot Hawaiian pizza, Juicy Mack burger plus bacon, and the Cobb salad. Their beer selection is pretty decent and the apps haven't disappointed yet. Make sure you sign up with your phone for txt deals as Somme of the deals are pretty good...

Finally got a weekend off so to celebrate my BD my wife, myself and another couple, Mel & Sandra Bowman went out for dinner. Decided to try the new McKenzie River and what a treat. All employees were friendly and professional. The prices were good, but mostly he food was exceptional. We all had something different and each item was cooked to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. John & Mary

First! It was very good. Pizza was great and the wings were good. A little bit on the spendy side for pizza but well worth it.

Really, really good, from start to finish. Great beer and wine menu, even includes a nice, dry hard cider option. The Willow Creek sandwich is my favorite from prior visits to MR in Montana. I was not disappointed! Husband's Reuben sandwich was the best we've tasted in a long time. Son-in-law had a hot (spicy) Hawaiian pizza and daughter said the chicken-fried steak was the best in town. The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty. We look forward to going back and trying their bistro pizzas.

Finally dropped in for my very first visit today. Nice place, very pleasant atmosphere, very tasteful and simple decor. I was especially pleased to find there are no giant televisions in the dining area, just near the bar. That's the kind of eating establishment I call an eating establishment. Upon arriving, we were told the wait for a table was "five minutes". The wait was more accurately twenty minutes. The wait for our food was over one hour more. Strange since my guests ordered the Fish Tacos, a half-Pannini, and I ordered a small pizza. These are three meals that are not exactly rocket science. Much to his credit, our very attentive, extremely appologetic, waiter repeatedly stopped by our table to offer us more drinks, and his many regrets for the long wait. During the long wait, I did note the restaurant was not crowded at all. But as I observed the dining room, I counted just four servers. They were hustling like mad, making a valiant attempt to cover the entire house. I also oberved the busy chef, who didn't seem to lose his pace, even though it was plainly obvious that he was backed-up to his eyeballs with orders. In our immediate area, I counted eight tables where guests had long since left, and the tables were still not bussed. My thoughts are this scene looks very much like a restaurant in some manner of distress, or else management is overworking a meager staff, and trying to shave a few bucks in order to boost profits. As a diner, it made me wonder. If the staff is this overworked, when will this come to affect the overall performance of this establishment? My guests said their food was "so-so". I have to say, my pizza looked undercooked in the middle, and it was not the least bit crispy. The sauce was "meh", and the pizza was drowned in cheese. I got to the second slice, and I just gave up. Now I am home, nursing the worst heartburn. Oh well. Probably not going back.

This establishment continues to excite me as I hit their fourth store. The Pocatello location maintains the very high standards set forth in the first store in Bozeman. Whether a burger or a pizza the food is yummy and they find creative ways of representing their food. Even the kids meals were tasty and demonstrates high quality flavor (unlike most other establishments). Servers are amazingly friendly and the atmosphere is perfect! Lastly they have a wonderful selection of beverages for both sides of 21.

Found it on Yelp in the middle of a road trip to Bozeman MT. It has a pretty corporate appearance on the outside but we went in anyway, mostly due to hunger. On a late Sunday afternoon the service was friendly and quick. They have some sporting events on the bar TVs with a few guys hanging out watching. It's that kind of place. There are 15 taps, most of them real beers. The spinach salad is yummy. I loved the dressing. Boy got the apple chicken flatbread and it was ok. It was better with sriracha on it. Girl got the BBQ pizza, it was kind of blah. Mostly I don't like thick crust so I'll try to not hold the excessive breadiness against them. Wife got lemon chicken pasta and it was fairly boring. Not bad, not good either. Not worth going there as a destination, but if you're there you shouldn't starve either.
