Sauces at barbecue joints are deceptive animals. Many times, they're used as camouflage to cover up flaws from the meat. Such is the case at Dickey's. I love pork ribs and while those in a rib platter lunch were meaty and tender, Dickey's forgot to pack them with flavor. They needed the sauce to give them any excitement. It's disappointing fare from a company that traces its lineage back to Texas and 1941. Maybe it's because Texas is known for beef barbecue and not pork. The baked potato casserole was dry and needed gravy or something else to give it some moisture. The fried onion tanglers were good, though. The roll was of throwaway quality.

Great BBQ what can I say. There is a Dickey's BBQ in Tacoma WA where I am from and this is a must have.

This is fast-service bbq, something I have never experienced before. I came in and ordered to-go and was in and out in less than five minutes. Being somewhat of a bbq snob, I went with the classics, pulled pork and sliced brisket -- if they can do those right then the test has been met. For $11 I got a two-meat combo and two sides, green beans and the jalapeno beans (all four items which also happen to be gluten free). The rolls are also supposed to be pretty good but of course I was not able to test those out. The portions were good and the sauce, which thankfully came on the side, was acceptable. They have the pickles, onions and jalapenos in the self-serve area to make your bbq even more authentic. Overall I felt like I got a great deal and the food was pretty tasty.

My husband and I absolutely love this location. The service is always great and fast. The food is fresh and tasty plus the portions are relative to the price. Its not home style BBQ its more of a fast food style. For what it is its pretty great! The brisket is my favorite and the potato salad tastes like its made with green goddess sauce. Deliciousness! Some of the sides are not that great and could be improved. Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars.

My family and I tried this place for our first time and were not disappointed one bit. Kids eat free on Sundays so for the four of us, our entire meal was only $20!!! The kid's chicken nuggets were over cooked but that was our only complaint. I had a pork baker which was fabulous and HUGE! My husband had a brisket westerner that was also delish. The staff were all very curtious and genuinely seemed to be passionate about the business. Our food was neither greasy or tough so we will be back to check out the consistency.

Nothing beats southern BBQ from the SE states, but for Idaho this is pretty decent BBQ. The value is very good. BBQ can get pricey, but not here. A good meal at a very fair price. Plus they have free ice cream. Their sweet bbq sauce is excellent. Sliced brisket is typically very good and moist and not fatty like some places.

Good food and great employees. I regularly get the Smokehouse salad and it is always wonderful, sometimes they forget the roll but lately they have been spot on. Love the tanglers on the salad. I usually order 2 salads when I'm in, one for today and the second for tomorrow. They also now carry Dickeys BBQ rub. Used this on a home cooked brisket, delicious! BBQ sauce also available.

I like the Dickey's franchise, I just don't like this Dickey's location. I had a string of good meals at this location for a period of time. Then I hired them to cater an office function. The guy showed up 45 minutes late. I find out later, from the manager, that he left Dickey's early and was apparently driving around in circles for about an hour, despite having my contact number and a Google Maps printout with him. Meanwhile 50 people were waiting around for the food to arrive. Since he drove around for so long with our brisket in the warming oven on the truck, the brisket became very overcooked and dry. When I called to notify the manager, we received a 20% refund. Frankly that didn't compensate us for the extremely late arrival and the ruined brisket, but there wasn't much else I could do at that point. I've been back the restaurant a few times since that incident. Our brisket orders have been dry and unflavorful. Overcooking the brisket or using old cuts seems to be a problem at this location. The final blow was the visit this past weekend. We put in our orders and the guy cutting the brisket coughs into his arm (at least he was attempting to cover his cough) but it is a heavy, congested cough. We had already ordered our food and it felt awkward to just abandon ship, so we didn't. However, that guy was obviously sick with a cold and should not have been working. And we received our brisket and it was dry as a bone AGAIN. Not going back. This location seems to have a management problem. The employees are not being supervised appropriately on multiple levels. The food, aside from the recent streak of overcooked brisket, is usually pretty good. Dickey's has delicious BBQ sauce and the sides are good too. I'd recommend finding another Dickey's location in the area.

LOVE IT! I'm not a huge fan of BBQ, but Dickey's is so convenient, so yummy and has so many choices you can't go wrong. My husband and daughter love the ribs, I love turkey and the spice sausage and my son, well, he loves the mac & cheese. Everyone's happy and I didn't have to cook or do the dishes. Plus, Dickey's will let you taste everything before you order so you know what you're getting. If the ribs are a little overcooked - there are lots of other options! I took off a star because they're hard to see from the road - I've driven by so many times and had to turn around and come back the right direction - not an easy task at that intersection. Also they have really hard chairs. I guess they assume if you're eating at a BBQ joint, you probably show up with your very own ample padding on your behind, but it's just not so! :-)

Let's be honest people, this is not top notch BBQ but... for fast food BBQ, its not bad; especially the prices. The service was great and you get free ice cream. :) The lettuce and veggies are always bright in color and crisp. They have a lot of specials and I like that they are consistent with their food.

I work nearby and decided to order a lunch for pickup. I ordered the 1 meat plate with beef brisket, and chose green beans and the baked potato casserole as my sides. Meal includes buttered roll. Pros: You can place order online from their website, which is easy to navigate and has no pesky requirements to create an account. When I arrived to pick up my order 15 minutes later, it was packed up and ready to go. Utensils and napkin were already included in the bag. Staff was friendly. Cons: The food.... The food wasn't good!! The brisket was OK -- although it was bland it was fairly tender. Didn't taste too bad once it was dunked in the included BBQ sauce. But the green beans were definitely canned, and were sitting in a pool of watery liquid. No flavor other than the flavor of canned beans, even though the description states they're cooked with bacon. As for the baked potato casserole, I'm pretty sure it was made with instant potatoes. The potatoes had the gritty texture and odd flavor that only comes from a box. I'm not a total food snob, but I don't even eat canned veggies or instant potatoes at home and definitely don't want to pay restaurant prices for them! The roll was alright, but they forgot to include butter. Maybe the butter is just brushed on top? I knew the food wouldn't be as good as one of the local BBQ restaurants that makes everything from scratch, but I thought it would at least match the quality of the other BBQ chain restaurant in town. Not even close. I gave Dickey's 3 stars due to the convenience and good service, but the food itself is worth closer to 2 stars.

Had a fun lunch today at their Grand Opening with Dad. We both had pulled pork sandwiches and enjoyed them very much. They were served without sauce, and mine was tasty & juicy enough to eat plain. Dad tried both the regular and the sweet sauces and liked them both. I'm putting Chick-fil-A on notice right now... the waffle fries at Dickey's are just as good if not better. YUM! Mine were hot and fresh, and salted just right. Dad enjoyed the only one I was willing to share with him. Dad chose the Fried Onion Tanglers as his side. They were nice & light "onion straw" type onions. I found the batter a little too spicy for me. Nice, big 32 oz. cups and do-it-yourself sodas. Also, they have free ice cream! Near the drink machine is an ice cream cone dispenser and an ice cream machine. They also have little cups and spoons if you'd rather. Interior is rustic and western-looking. Nice, heavy distressed wood tables and chairs. Big screen TV's -- one was on news and the other on ESPN. If you'd rather do take-out, there's a convenient drive-through window. We were worried about the service since it was their Grand Opening, but they were Johnny-on-the-spot about everything. Even district manager Barry was out among the customers grabbing take-home bags and helping out with a smile.

$2 chicken deal for Mondays, yummy! Kids enjoyed it too. Our mashed potatoes were not as good as usual, but they took care of it for us and we left super happy! Thanks for a yummy dining experience!

We recieved a coupon from this place in the mail so we decided to give it a try.Have to say very disappointed. The ribs where very tuff far from fall off the bone and the sauce was so runny it wouldnt even stick to the meat. The fries werent even cooked very well they where mushy not crisp. Potatoe salad had a very odd taste and wasnt good either. I usualy love BBQ and i am a very big eater But my wife and i only ate till we lost our appetite then gave most of our ribs to the dogs and threw out the fries and potatoe salad. i definitely wont be making a second trip here. Next time I want BBQ i'll go to GoodWood they almost never let me down.

I haven't found many BBQ places in the area. Dickey's was greasy. Drive thru microphone wasn't working. Food was expensive for portion size. Their brisket was well done, ie, overcooked. BBQ sauce is very good. Goodwood BBQ on Eagle's brisket and sauce tastes better, though. Check in with your mobile device for free ice cream with your order! In a strip mall on south side of overland. Look for flags in parking lot.

I tried this place years ago when they first opened and didn't like it. Gave it another chance today (had a free sandwich coupon) and really liked it. I'll be back.

My wife and I enjoy Dickies BBQ. We just picked up a to go order. The item (family pack) that we ordered was increased by 4 dollars (pretty high increase). Then the girl at the drive up window told me the total was 33.92. I gave her 35.00 and received .46 change. To top it off the receipt in the bag was not our receipt. The food was good as usual but Dickies may have just priced themselves out of our business..

Was not a very pleasant experience, and if I'd spent the same amount of money I would have a much higher quality meal, more food, and a better experience at a competitors restaurant. I honestly will not bother visiting again.

Good food with great price. Ribs were yum as well as the brisket. Kids enjoyed it as well. They loved the ice cream at the end of their meal. Dining room is just a tad noisy with the heavy chairs being drug on the floor. Other than that it was good!

Aside from them slicing the brisket WITH the grain and the meat being dry (had pulled pork and obviously brisket), the experience was ok. Sides were pretty good - although also dry. I just couldn't get over them slicing the brisket wrong... if I wanted stringy pot roast, I would've gone to up-chuck-a-rama.
