We were driving through Lewiston on our way to Boise when my daughter found this place on yelp!! We were so happy!! Good bbq I loved there peach chipotle sauce! There potato chips were really good, bummer though they were out of cole slaw!! My only disappointment was I didn't have their soup!! Everyone was talking about how awesome it is! Bonus, when its your first visit you get her homemade peach cobbler, complimentary!!! Amazing

Worth the trip from Portland! incredible food and service. Wife had pulled pork and brisket hoagie and I had smoked cold meatloaf sandwich. We missed the last piece of peach shortcake so they gave us TWO blueberry almond muffins. This place is home made through and through. Don't miss it.

This is a bbq joint with a lot of local charm and it is big on flavor flavor flavor! I had the Lunchbox Carolina Special with their special chips. It was a BBQ pulled pork on a hoagie smothered with Carmelized onions and coal slaw - spicy in a "non-hot" way with lots of garlic undertones. Best barbecue I have had in a long time! Some notes: this is a tiny place (6 tables of 4, 4 tables of 2) so they might ask you to move around to accommodate everyone. This is an expected behavior in this kind of a local, friendly neighborhood diner so definitely keep this in mind! Super friendly staff, cute decor, quick service - really enjoyed it and I am glad I took the recommendation. Huge portions (I could only eat 1/2) so go hungry!

Very much enjoyed my lunch at this sweet little place. They had coloring books and crayons for my kids and not too long of a wait for food to arrive despite every table filled. If I didn't live several hundred miles away I'd go back for sure. Their freshly-made potato chips were so yummy, and the brownie as well!

Best kept secret in lewiston. Best barbecue I've ever hard. Front scratch soups and desserts also. I like the Carolina

Wife, daughter and myself all stopped here to have lunch on our way back to Boise from out family vacation. And man, did it not disappoint! Do not let it's small exterior fool you because truly awesome things can come in small packages. We ordered the Pat's Z-Man sandwich and it was full of nothing but flavor. Their homemade chips we crispy and lightly salted. And lastly, because it was out first time there, the served us up a complimentary HUGE brownie to split. Truly a delightful experience, amazing BBQ and the staff was beyond hospitable. We'll definitely be back if we roll through Lewiston again. :-)

Great food! Awesome service! I had the burnt ends - yummy. My husband had the burnt end sandwich- yum. My mom had the brisket sandwich- yum. You can't go wrong. Try the coleslaw and sweet tea for a perfect way to round out the meal. This is a must go kind of place in Lewiston!

We were passing thru and hungry so when we looked on yelp they had the best reviews and we can see why! To start, their service was like we were family. They gave us a free peach cobbler for being new customers and WOW prob the best I've ever had! We also loved the pulled pork and brisket. They're baked beans were amazing and so was the corn bread! Would def recommend anyone passing thru to stop!!!

Stopped by for lunch, had the burger, wings & salad for lunch. Amazing. They threw in some free treats to spoil us, too. ;)

I was in Lewiston for business and looking for a quick bite to eat. I saw the high reviews on yelp and stopped by. They had just received a large order to go and the waitress informed me that the wait might be a little longer ~ 20- 30 minutes. I am surprised it was that quick because they were also jam packed inside. I ordered the pull pork and beef brisket sandwich with coleslaw, it was around $10. The food arrived a little while later and it was well worth the wait! Perfectly portioned, enough to really fill you up but not enough to put you in a food coma. The coleslaw was delicious, it was fresh and light in a zesty vinegar dressing (not the heavy mayonnaise). Now lets talk about the sandwich, simply superb. The meat was so tender, moist and flavorful, and the bun was soft and tasty. They provide three different BBQ sauces all made in house. A house original BBQ, a peach chipotle BBQ, and a habanero BBQ (unfortunately I am a wuss when it comes to spice so I didn't try this one). I mixed the peach and original and they were great, slightly smokey deeply savory and tangy. Marie the owner?/cook was so friendly and worked away so quickly. She even gave me a free brownie at the end that was super decadent and thick. I hope business brings me back to Lewiston because this was the best BBQ I have ever had, if it doesn't I might just have to plan a vacation...

I was in a group of five people passing through town and discovered this place on yelp, when we arrived at lunch time the tiny place was full. Surprisingly, we were at a table in no time and was amazed with the buzz of activity and constant stream of people in and out of the restaurant which only raised the expectation for the food. We were not disappointed! The staff, although busy, were friendly while being quick on their feet. I cannot say enough good things about the food; the brisket and pulled pork were so damn tasty and cooked to perfection. I don't eat coleslaw but... I ate what they call coleslaw and wow; the homemade chips (American chips not English chips) are dangerously good. Oh, and don't leave without trying the peach dessert.

I love all things bbq and have tried a lot of brisket. This is the best I've ever had. I love the homemade sauces and the navy bean soup! The baked beans are great too. The staff is so friendly and welcoming.

Oh my god. This place was SO GOOD! We went as a road trip stop and though slightly skeptical, the food knocked my families socks off!!!!! The pulled pork sandwich was amazing. And the coleslaw wasn't made with nasty mayo but with vinegar. It was crisp and refreshing. The Z Man was also so flavorful!!! All the staff was kind and Marie was so nice.... NOT TO MENTION THE FREE BROWNIE!!!! Come if you want BBQ heaven on earth or don't... and miss out horribly

We stopped here for lunch on our way up the Clearwater for a camping trip. Excellent food and service. There was a short wait for our sandwiches (busy) so they brought us out a basket of fresh cut potato chips to sample. The brisket and pulled pork sandwich combo with baked beans and coleslaw was great especially with the homemade bbq sauces. We of course had to stop for lunch again a few days later on our way back. Awesome place.

Had a to go order and the food was excellent. I didn't look at the receipt until later when I discovered that I was charged a 15% gratuity on a to go order. Not cool.

Stopped for lunch with 4 hungry teenage boys while on a long road trip. The food was great and the atmosphere comfortable and friendly. We would highly recommend!

Food was delish! I got a brisket chef salad with the house dressing and my finance got the gut bomb a crazy large burger, that was greasy but amazingly awesome! And since it was our first time ever they gave us a free brownie! I'll be back again..

Great for large group orders. I spent $150 for my lunch meeting. I picked up the lunch and it was all ready to go on time. Very friendly staff. They accept AMEX. Side salad was a little weak but the sandwiches and soup were awesome!

This BBQ restaurant is a very good local find in North Lewiston. The smoke on the meat is good and the sauce is on the tangy side, vs sweet. The owner makes delicious desserts too. I love the brisket and pulled pork. The last time I was there I had smoked chicken breast chief salad. My husband had brisket chief salad. Both were very good but the brisket was best. Breakfasts are tasty too!

Unreal. The service was awesome and the food was even better. I have eaten BBQ all over and this place does it right. Worth the trip.

Marie is a beast! Best peanut-butter pie ever. We love almost everything on the menu. Awesome tasty soups, super smokey meats and freshly made sides. They give you warm BBQ sauces: three different favors. I can't get enough of the habanero sauce. Dining room is small but clean.

Always come here when needing some brisket. Sauce is awesome and bbq is even better. Service is great. Have daily specials get there early they go quick. Haven't been for breakfast, but should be awesome too.

An off-the-beaten-path gem! Being a native southerner, I am pretty picky about BBQ (the noun, not the verb). The Lunch Box did NOT disappoint! The homemade potato chips are delectable, and my personal favorite was the pineapple chipotle BBQ sauce. As newcomers, we were treated to a complimentary brownie too! Lewiston, you are lucky to have this little place!

I have never been shown so much hospitality and kindness at a restaurant. I felt like I was sitting in my moms kitchen with the amount of warmness that came with our welcome in. The smoked chicken breast was cooked to perfection and the habanero barbecue sauce made me cry tears of joy. (Slight exaggeration with the tears but it was damn good). We were then informed about the proper way to eat baked beans (Idaho Caviar) with the fresh cooked potato chips (must get). Following all the deliciousness we were then treated to the cobbler which is just heavenly. I have never tasted anything as good in my life and I will never be able to eat another cobbler in my life. Seriously. It's the stuff dreams are made of. I can't wait for the opportunity to be able to come back.

This place is fantastic. Incredible friendly service. The owner came out and spoke with the customers, wait staff knew a lot of them by name or by their usual orders. Fantastic BBQ. The meat is great, and they have some excellent sauce options. The coleslaw is delicious and a little spicy. Had the banana bread pudding and it was great. Definitely would go again. Went on a whim when my parents asked where we should have lunch. They both loved it as well.

Had lunch there today, wonderful food, have tried to eat here several times but only open until 3 pm and not at all on weekends. Home made potato chips.......smoked rib daily special.......very good, a bit pricy and not a large portion but very good food.

Went for lunch, I had a pulled pot sandwich and my wife has the brisket dip. Meats on both sandwiches were delicious. The best part for me was the sauces, they had 3 different kinds that day and each one was fantastic. My only complaint would be they were sold out of take home sauce, but such is life

Best lunch yet on our road trip through Idaho. Service was fast and friendly. All the food, BBQ ribs, beans, cole slaw and fresh friend chips were delicious. Yet even asked us if it was our first time and gave us a free dessert. We would both recommend.

Small business, but the staff is very friendly and another passionate couple who know how to prepare and smoke meat. Excellent place. Can't wait until my next visit.

We had a wonderful experience at the Lunch Box Deli. We rolled in 10 minutes before close the day before thanksgiving, and everyone was still so friendly and accommodating. We ordered the large bbq sampler plate and everything was delicious! We even got a free slice of cake and these delicious chip/french fry hybrid things that were amazing. It's always refreshing to be in a restaurant where employees seem to enjoy their work and have a positive relationship with management, it really comes through in the service. We will be back every time we're down in Lewiston!

This is by far the best restaurant in town. The BBQ is wonderful, flavorful and smoky. Marie makes a smoked meatloaf that will knock your socks off. My boyfriend and I have come here probably half a dozen times and we rarely return to any restaurant more than once. The menu is largely BBQ sandwiches, but there's also delicious grilled sandwiches if you're not feeling BBQ, and hamburgers; I've never needed to go that route because between the BBQ and the specials, there's always something that sounds and tastes heavenly. For sides, you can get fries, pub chips, soup, salad, cole slaw, potato salad or baked beans and all of them are delicious, but my favorite is a tie between her freshly cut French fries and perfectly made pub chips. Spectacular! Finally, the best part: dessert. I've had brownies, cookies and peach cobbler and if you have any room at all at the end of your meal, don't short yourself! Get something. the best kept secret of this restaurant: peanut butter pie. It's not always there but when it is, my god!, get it. It's phenomenal. I love love love this restaurant, the wonderful chef and the lovely wait staff.

Looking for lunch location in Lewiston and found this location on Yelp. Pleasant surprise! We are from Cali and have many great dining options. We ordered the brisket with coleslaw. Both very tasty! I believe it may be the best brisket I've ever had. Moist and flavorful accompanied with three different BBQ sauces...yum.

The best American diner food in Lewiston hands down. Lunches are 5-star, but the breakfasts are 5 1/2 stars! And the service is 6-stars! And I'm stingy with ratings, too. I had the Ultimate Skillet this last time and it lived up to its name. Fresh ingredients perfectly seasoned and a very healthy portion that can last you all day. Next day I came back for the smoked meatloaf sandwich. Holy cow, it was good! Everything is homemade from scratch, nothing from a Costco plastic bag. I'm from Boise but travel through every few months for business and pleasure and ALWAYS make a point of stopping at this wonderful gem of locally-owned goodness. It'd been a few months since my last visit and Marie remembered us and even where we sat the last time. She really cares about her customers. Clean, classy, culinary delight, the whole experience reflects the pride of the owner who simply knows how to do it right.

On a motorcycle trip my buddy and I stopped here for lunch. I had brisket and a hot link, along with a side of their house made chips. The food was outstanding. The brisket was very tender and flavorful. The owner brought me a small bowl of "Idaho caviar" (baked beans) to dip my chips in. It's a very tight place, with only a handful of tables, but the food was exceptional and the service was very good.

This restaurant is a gem!!! Good food, good service and you'll love Marie, the owner. BBQ Sandwiches were tasty and the soup was hot (not lukewarm) and delicious. The Peach Shortcake is fantastic!! The brownie is nice and moist. Refills on drinks. Highly recommended! I'm so full! You can tell Marie loves to cook and enjoys her patrons.

Cooking from scratch the way it should be. Great breakfast, BBQ, fresh potato chips, spud salad, even donuts. Show up more than once, and the owners will know your name. Kudos!

Tucked in the industrial part of north lewiston we stop in the Lunch Box Deli for smokey BBQ, amazing breakfast (try the banana nut hotcakes) served up hot with a smile by the owner. Eat here, it's beats the heck out of Jacque in the Container across the river or, really anywhere else in town. Too bad they aren't open for dinner.
