The burritos here are amazing. Lots of meat without very much filler. Keep it nice and cool here on a hot summer day. The staff are all very friendly as well

Good for a quick lunch. Can only eat here once every month because the food causes a food hangover.

If I could give a negative I would. The food was okay, but the server essentially stole $5 from us. We gave him $15 in cash and told him to put the rest on a card. He claimed we gave him $10. We checked our wallet and sure enough we gave him $15. If you want okay food and deal with crooks go here.

Love the Cameron de coctel. Soo good. Went in right before close and was pampered like I was in the door at noon.

I live in Seattle but I'm from Lewiston originally. I came home for a visit and had never been here before. This was one of the best Mexican restaurants I've eaten at in a long long time. The margarita was really good although a little pricey. When I come home for a visit next time I will be making sure I get there before I leave. Beautiful inside and colorful......

As a native South Texan who has grown up on the best place in the United States for Mexican style cuisine this is fantastic for Idaho. I have lived in Florida for over a year and have not found nothing that can even compete with this place. If you live in Lewiston or Western Idaho for that matter and have a hankering for or want to discover Amex (American Mexican Food) this is a must stop for you. The only thing I would suggest to this place is to help the locals discover breakfast tacos as they are an awesome way to start your day.

I never had Mexican food as good as this in my life! I had the enchiladas and beef burrito with beans and rice!

Decent mexican cuisine. Visitied here twice during our stay in Lewiston. Service is good and fast. There is no full bar here, so it leads me to believe that if you order a margarita, it must be a premix, but I can't say for sure.

This restaurant delivered, very authentic mexican food. Good corn tortillas, mexican rice, nice quality shrimp and good flan. Hit the spot after a long day on the road from Spokane. All you can eat chips and salsa delicious. Margaritas were huge but pre-mixed. Was good enough for us though.

Love this place. I moved to Lewiston in 2001 and moved in 2010, it's my all time favorite restaurant ever. In California my family and I used to go to a restaurant and it had the same atmosphere and I loved it. The downtown location is a million times better than. the Orchards in my opinion. Fantastic place to go. The wait staff is great.

Ordered chicken and shredded beef tacos with rice and beans to-go. The tacos were served in hard shells and tasted very good, but without enough rice and beans. Overall, the place served pretty authentic Mexican food.

We always eat here when we are in town visiting the kids and grandbaby's there food is amazing have never had bad service. The salsa is great. They always are polite. We have ordered just about half of the menu over the years and enjoyed everything so far. We will continue to be repeat customers when we visit.

My husband and I just rediscovered El Sombrero. We used to go to it years and years ago but for some reason had stopped. We tried it again this summer and have been back 3 or 4 times. The staff is very friendly, they take your order pronto, and you get your food served to you almost faster than you can eat your chips and salsa. The margaritas are excellent and the chili rellanos? The BEST E.V.E.R. Seriously. I am from Texas and have also lived in California and not one restaurant I can think of in either state had chili rellanos better than these.

This is pretty typical Mexican restaurant fare. You get the same stuff served like at the other Mexican restaurant across town. The service is always good, fast & friendly though. Our domestic restaurateurs can learn a thing or two from the Mexican business model when it comes to the service part. The place seems run down though. Your first impression is of the dirty parking lot & the broken concrete parking things. The inside is about the same, a bit dirty & old. The lunch specials are always tasty, fast & cheap. The music I could do without.

Good authentic mexican food. A co-worker of mine simply has to have lunch here whenever we go to lewiston. It's good, friendly staff and clean. Recommend.

$14.45 for Veggie Fajitas is outrageous. Mushy vegetables and definitely not authentic Mexican. They priced themselves out of a customer this time.

This is good mexican food, good service, reasonable price, good quantity, and excellent garden salsa (salsa with carrot/cabbage)!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
