Having been born in Colombia, I am used to some really good and plentiful dishes. On my way to Boise from Indiana I researched some Latin restaurants that would somehow be on my way down to Twin Falls from the Boise airport. Lima Limon was one of the first that showed up on my list of options and oh boy, am I glad I went. Upon arrival, I became immediately skeptical as there were two cars in the lot at noon. Thankfully, I didn't let that fear make me change my mind. I went in and immediately taken aback by the cleanliness, the decoration, the music (Grupo Niche), and the smiley face (that of the owner) who welcomed me inside. I ordered the aji de gallina, which was excellent. As a drink, I had a maracuya pisco (some sort of passion fruit juice mixed with authentic pisco - a famous Peruvian alcoholic beverage) and wow...it was even better, or equally as good as my dish. In closing, I very much would recommend this joint. It took me about 25 mins from the airport. Buen provecho!
Overall, I enjoyed this place, and will try to return. Everything was reasonably priced, and the portions were more then adequate. The service was a bit slow, but we were told that there was a large banquet party in the other half of the restaurant that was causing some delay. I have had lots of Peruvian food in my life, both home cooked and at restaurants, and the fare at Lima Limon was pretty good, with one major exception. We had Pisco Sour for drinks. They were very good, and in generous glasses. I had "Lomo Saltado" for my meal. It was as good as any "Lomo" I have had before. The meat was very tender, and the potatoes and onions were cooked perfectly for my taste. My spouse had "Bistek a la Pobre". She was disappointed with this, because the ingredient of the dish that she most looked forward to was prepared poorly. This dish contains a thin pan-fried steak, rice, a fried egg, and deep-fried plantain. Unfortunately, the plantain used was not sufficiently ripe; and so, instead of being sweet with a slightly creamy texture, as it should have been, it was pretty tasteless and had the texture of a undercooked potato. The other ingredients of the dish met her expectations.
They have great food, was not sure at first but we will keep coming g back !!! Make sure you have an appetite because they give you more than enough.
