A classic example of not judging by the cover, golden palace proved itself with excellent service, well prepared and promptly delivered food, and colorful aquariums surrounding the room. Though not many reasons to visit Caldwell, the Golden Palace is definitely one of them.

Don't judge a book by its cover. It's a little run down but the waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was really good. We'll be going back for sure!

I am so disappointed. I walked into this restaurant expecting a nice clean dining experience and ended up walking out. I frequented this place as a kid and it had some of the best Chinese around. Now... First thing I notice is mass confusion from waitstaff and a frantic attempt to get things under control. Waitress seats us and grabs a napkin from another table to wipe the table that had obviously not been wiped down since, who knows how long. As I sit, I notice that the table is most certainly not clean. I grab my silverware and napkin to slide it forward and it is sticking to the table. Disgusting. I look around, food all over the floor. As I am sitting there I think, "If it is like this at my table and the floors look like this, then how will the kitchen look? Do I really want to roll the dice with food poisoning?" I discuss the situation with my wife and we decide to leave. It saddens me to say this, but, I will not return to this place.

My husbands family loves it here. I hate it. Chinese food in idaho is so much different from Cali's.

I ordered dinner tonight for my family. I order shrimp noodles for my son (shrimp were from a can). I ordered beef noodles with mushrooms for my husband (mushrooms were from a can). Then I ordered kung po chicken for me. Got home the other orders were correct, but crap. My order was completely wrong. I called them to tell them that I received beef and cashews instead of kung pow chicken. They argued with me saying that I ordered kung po beef. I would have been OK with the beef if it had been kung pow, but it wasn't. I'll NEVER go back.

Disappointed! Food is bland, my spicy General Ching's chicken was not spicy at all. Ordered mushroom chicken, and most disappointing? No Chicken at all! Not even one bite! Don't plan to go there again!

Potstickers were very tasty, just not hot enough... My General Ching's Chicken was very good, the boyfriend has to send his shrimp chow mein back as he asked for 'pan fried noodles' and they came soggy - be sure you are specific if you want them crispy!

We loved the food, the service was wonderful. Don't let the appearance of the front of the restaurant deter you.

Looking for a great Chinese food restaurant? This restaurant is awesome! I've been visiting Caldwell for 26 years and have come to this restaurant for as long as I can remember. I highly recommend ordering the egg foo young and the pork chow mien. I can not find this quality of food at any other Chinese restaurant. I've just moved my mom down to California from Caldwell and am very disappointed that I wont be eating at this restaurant anymore.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
