Had the Ahi sesame salad and here is what I think. So I am the new Outback Steakhouse assistant chef in training (aka sous chef) I come into to the kitchen and the Chef De Cuisine (head chef) says today we are going to learn to make the Ahi Sesame salad. Here is the recipe: Step 1 Go to the cooler and get out the bag of iceberg salad mix that came on the big truck with blue letters on the side last week and was packed a week before that somewhere in California. The bag you need has a "ho hum" mix of tasteless carrots, cabbage, lettuce and other greens that you won't recognize. Don't get the bag that's fresh or flavorful, we will use that bag next week, OK? Step 2 Also in the cooler is some Ahi tuna that you need to completely douse in pepper to give it some resemblance of taste. Slice it on a machine so that the pieces are so uniform that the guests will assume that it was never touched by a chef with professional training. Step 3 Finally add a few sesame seed and mix the packet of Asian dressing in with the greens and arrange the tuna on top and serve it on a warm plate ( I guess because we are too lazy to chill the salad plates???). Oh yeah grasshopper, the corporate office says we have to watch costs so don't offer the customers a warm baguette or anything extra. PS The sign that say "Patio Open" is just a teaser because the patio wasn't really open!!

Probably by far the best Outback I have been to in years. The bartender was also my server he was excellent very friendly. The food was all hot and fresh and tasted delicious. enter other Outbacks could take some lessons from this one the cleanliness was second to none.

Service was good, food was bad. When you pay $22 for a steak, you expect that it's at least cooked how you ordered. I asked for medium and got well done. The ribeye was still okay, but is wondered how good it would have been if cooked properly. It's also worth noting that it took an hour for our food to arrive. None of this was the waitresses fault, there had to be something going on in the kitchen. The manager was practically running table to table, apologizing for the issues. This was the second and last time I'll be going to Outback.

I really don't think you can go wrong with Outback... The food is consistently good and very flavorful. My favorite thing on the menu is the ribs and their bloom petals are a great starter. I also think they have the best honey mustard I've ever tasted :) The staff is great! We usually eat in the bar area and have yet to have a bad experience with our service. They are currently undergoing a facelift and adding a banquet room as well. The other night our food was a little bit slower than usual. The owner came out and personally apologized for the delay and he gave us a card for an appetizer on our next visit.

After getting out of the movie theater around 9:20, most places were closed already on a Thursday night to go eat. We really didn't want to be "those people" coming in 20 minutes before closing but hunger took over. Ending up at Outback, it was pretty satisfying considering how hungry we were. The service was great, lots of patience considering there was only one other table occupied. The food was, well chain restaurant food. Nothing spectacular. Red Robin burgers are much better, though they do have a great appetizer menu. Mostly we liked it cause of the patient closing service and it filled our bellies.

My hubby & I decided to try OB last Saturday. We were surprised that the place was packed and thought it must be coz of the good food. Well sad to say, we certainly had better. Hubs ordered a 12 oz steak but it came out looking like a 10 oz and it was overcooked to the standards of medium. I had a combo which comprised of steak & mahi. My steak was also overcooked but as it was of a smaller size, it was still alright. The mahi was just ok. I didn't really taste much spices or herbs. Overall I think the only appetizing thing we had was the onion blossoms. We had to wait quite a while for our food despite having appetizers and salad. We hardly saw our server too. Only saw her when we ordered and when food was being served. Hubs is usually pretty easy-going with food but he was definitely disappointed. We will have to give this place a miss.

Great place to eat. Steaks are done exaclty like you want them. If not they will take it back and throw on another steak for you until they get it right. Great service everytime I go. Great specials although you cant get hooked on a certain special because they are serious that it is only for a limited time, although the service is so great they have made exceptions for me. A favorite date restaurant.

I recently took my daughter to Outback Steakhouse for her birthday dinner. It was pretty good, nothing life changing. I had a 6 oz sirloin with a baked potato and broccoli. It was all tasty, my steak was a little under-cooked, but I survived. Outback is consistently okay.

It had been a long time since I'd eaten here, so I thought we'd give it a try. I hate being wrong. We should have gone elsewhere. The hostess sat us promptly with menus, but was just going through the motions as her attention was somewhere else. I don't think she ever looked at us. Drinks took a painfully long time to come out. We started with the Bloomin Onion. It tasted ok, but very heavy with oil as if they didn't let it drain. My steak was so full of fat and gristle that only about a 1/3 of it was edible, though I tried chewing my way through most of it because I was starving. The vegetables were dry and overcooked. Our server seemed to share the same attitude as the hostess, but she at least acknowledged our existence. However, the attention seemed fake. We saw very little of her after our order was placed. Someone else brought out the app and refilled our drinks the one and only time we got one. Then we realized the owner was present. We figured this must have pissed off the staff as they had to make it look like they cared about their jobs. To top it all off, the couple in the booth next to us was engaged in a VERY heated domestic dispute. Highlights included accusations of hiding alcohol consumption and being drunk, and money hoarding and mismanagement, among other cheap jabs. The bout ended with the lady, who was allegedly drunk, saying she was leaving her counterpart. Bad service always makes a meal taste worse. Couple that with bad food and you feel like they're stealing from you when you have to pay for it. I'd like to hope they were having a bad night. I probably won't come back here, or at least until they get some staff turnover. Sorry Outback.

The service was stellar, despite them being very busy. I had the 8 oz sirloin and garlic mashed potatoes. the serving size of mashed potatoes was more than I could eat. The steak was very thick but had gristle in every bite of the first half I ate. I asked for rare and it was cooked perfectly. The flavor was a little blah but good with A1. My son loved his steak and his appeared to be gristle free. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I will go back and try something other than steak.

The decor has been upgraded and is inviting and warm. Staff was friendly and attentive. The steak was cooked as ordered and was delicious; the grilled chicken was also yummy and came with nicely cooked vegetables which were seasoned well. Had a great experience and will happily go back.

It had been years since going to an Outback, but I recalled it pretty favorably as a mid-priced restaurant with better than average food at realistic prices. I don't know if the chain has changed hands or it's just this one location, but we were highly disappointed. It wasn't a bit crowded on this weekday evening around 6:30, but for some reason we still had trouble getting anyone's attention in the bar area. The wine list was about what I'd expect at an TGIF or Chili's, not a good steakhouse. The house salad was okay and the quesadilla appetizer turned out to be the best thing on the table. The famous Bloomin Onion ordered by the table next to us looked about half the size of the menu photo and not at all appealing, so we skipped that. One steak was blood rare when medium was ordered. Another was cooked properly, but so tough I almost asked for a sharper knife. The only flavor came from the seasoning rub and the $4 sauteed mushrooms (which to be fair were enough for two). We decided not to press our luck (such as it was) with dessert. The wait staff was cheerful, but here's a suggestion -- don't stop by the table every 3 minutes asking how wonderful everything is. Bottom line, if we had dropped 60 bucks instead of over 100 (counting drinks and tip), we would have figured we got what we paid for. But at these prices, not so much. If we're ever here again under circumstances beyond our control, I'd go for a burger and beer.

First time in and I'd say it was a good experience. Food was good, service from my waiter was above excellent...go in and request Brett. Great all around experience.

This Outback is one of my favorite places to eat in Boise! I enjoy the food, the atmosphere (they recently finished remodeling), the staff and most especially the manager. I don't come here especially often, once every couple of weeks, and yet some of the staff recognizes me, and the manager always does. In fact, he often jokes about the booth my friend and I always sit in, and when I went there tonight he directed the hostess to seat us at our usual place. I love the food here. I think it's been getting better recently, the cheesy fries especially. My friend got the filet mignon tonight and it was the best I'd ever tried here; I was so impressed that I asked our waiter to compliment the chef for us! Yes, the prices can prove to be a little steep. But the food itself is good and the portions too, and the staff is always willing to work with you if you're dissatisfied. The manager will bend backwards to make sure you have everything you need. I usually love the wait staff, though occasionally we do get a dud; I feel like this happens everywhere though, and isn't anything special to this location. Honestly, I really like this place, and I'm never disappointed when I eat here. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good steak who doesn't want to drive far out of town, or someone looking for a nice place to become a regular at.

This was one of my worst experiences in a restaurant lately. First off, they were actually doing remodeling DURING dinner! Try after hours or close. The service was poor, the staff not well trained and the food mediocre. I would give them NO STARS, but my mother-in-law was satisfied - she is 88. Please save yourself money and aggregation.

Unfortunate choice for the evening. Spent far too much on far too little. Wholly underwhelmed by pretty much everything. Steak was flavorless and tough, even though it was medium rare. Potatoes also lacked flavor and the plate in general looked unappetizing and empty. I would not recommend this place ever. Sorry guys, a remodel won't save you.

SLOW SERVICE. I should have known it was to good to be true when our party of seven didn't have to wait to get a table on a Friday night. Our waitress hardly ever came by, apparently she was too busy hanging out at the bar. We mentioned that it was my sons birthday and were hoping he would get sung to and maybe a little dessert but I guess they forgot. We won't be going there again.

So disappointed when we went in for the steak and lobster special....Well they don't honor that at this location. Boo to them

Horrible restaurant. Burnt steak; slimy salad, and not a single employee there old enough to know what customer service is. The owners of this franchise should lose the franchise or re-hire everyone, starting in the kitchen.

Service was fast and attentive during a busy weekend night. The food was good. The steaks cooked correctly. My wife thought that her steak was smaller than our son 's who ordered the same thing so the owner came out and provided her with an additional cut of prime rib!

Dark and dingy staff didn't seem to care we were there. The manager? Had his hands in front of him between him and his apron but it looked like his hands were down his pants Waited 40 min for our to go order there were only 3 tables occupied got home the tortilla was burnt the blooming onion was nothing special and the deserts were this tiny slivers Will not go back to this location

Had a gift card so stopped in to this location on our way to Wyoming. Great service from super friendly staff. Food was well prepared (sirloin and ribs). Not sure why the reviews are so poor as we definitely did not have a bad experience and would stop in again.

I see the reviews on this place are all over the board. I personally was not a fan place after eating there. I could have caught it on a bad night but to me it was very bland. Service was also a 3 out of 10. Staff was taking personal calls on there cell phones. I really love steak so I was hoping for great food but they did not deliver for me.

What a difference from the last time I went here. The owner contacted me and in a really nice gesture and apology he sent me a gift certificate and free " Blooming Onion" for my trouble. He also ask me to come back and try them again but to contact him when we arrive. Here is where everything went right............... The server was absolutely great. The owner "Bill " was about as friendly as you could get. He interacted with every customer that I could see making sure every customer was happy with their dining experience. This was a 360 degree turn about from what my wife and I experienced the last time we were there. Bill did spoil us I have to admit. He more than made up for our last " TRAIN WRECK" dinner.......... LOL Now to the food. " AWESOME " is the word for the day. The prime rib was perfect. The rib eye was perfect. The appetizers were perfect. The desert was perfect. Everything concerning the food was right on target. So to sum it up...... If you want a great experience at this OUTBACK call ahead and ask if the owner "BILL" is going to be there. That will ensure a great meal. What my wife and I got this day was why we liked going to Outback in the first place. To bad it takes the owner being there to get that kind of service and quality of food. It should be this way no matter if the owner is there or not. We will come back again..... but only if the owner is going to be there. By the way .... the owners name is ...... " BILL EMELE " ....... always ask for him. If he is not going to be there that night..... your on your own and don't say I didn't warn you.

Bottom line, they tend to overcook here...order accordingly. If you like medium rare, consider ordering rare. Otherwise, it's a typical Outback. Went with the family; had some gift cards to burn up. First, I should say I know what I'm expecting at Outback, so I didn't figure I was gonna get Ruth's Chris or something like it. I like to keep is simple here. I also know they tend to cook on the rarer side, so if you like medium rare, like me, you should get medium. (I would *never* order medium anywhere else.) Those thumbrules haven't let me down for years, in Outbacks from San Diego to Colorado to Hawaii to Guam. So tonight, went on Saturday, wife had a filet in mushroom sauce and I had a ribeye. Both ordered "medium", with waitress concurrence that they go a little rare here, so if I like medium rare, I should go medium. The ribeye was done medium *well* (no pink at all visible anywhere) and my wife's filet was a medium/medium well. Not cool. Hers was palatable; the sauce masked the overcooking, but I sent mine back. (I don't ike sending food back...it screws up the whole meal. If it had been a mere medium, I'd have eaten it.) The replacement arrived a bit on the late side (should be the #1 priority in the kitchen; seemed to take maybe 7-10 mins) and was now medium. In the cook's defense, the ribeye was so thin it would be difficult to cook less than medium, and I think impossible to cook rare. Salads and sides were fine; no issues. So, next time (I have like $150 in gift cards...I have to come back...) I'll keep it simple with the Outback Special sirloin. I also recommend they slice the steaks thicker...give the kitchen crew a break...and don't worry so much about covering half the plate with a thin steak. Cover 1/4 of the plate with a nice, thick, correctly cooked steak. My wife said it was the worst Outback she'd been to, which I'd agree with, but I suspect if I had ordered an Outback Special, medium rare, I'd have been satisfied. Guess we'll see next time.

I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience at this Outback Steakhouse location. The employees were all very friendly but the speed it took to get our food as well as the overall quality of the food was very poor in my opinion. Read on if you desire to know further details about my experience. We did the call-ahead seating, which is a great feature. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Sunday at about 5:15 pm. After being seated I decided to drop $23.00 on the 13 oz. porterhouse steak. with two sides. It took nearly 30 minutes for our food to make its way to our table, but at least they give us complimentary bread to help fill the grumbling void in our grumbling bellies. The steak was an embarrassment in my opinion. If you attach "Steakhouse" to the name of your restaurant you better well know how to cook a steak. My steak was not cooked consistently throughout. Though I had ordered the steak medium-well, there were portions of the steak which were medium-rare and portions of the steak were cooked well-done. The quality of the steak was poor as well. It was chewy and rubbery in certain parts. Also, the steak was not seasoned at all. I have no culinary training at all but I can and have cooked much better steaks than this because when I drop money on steak at the store I want it to taste good. However, Outback Steakhouse made no effort at all to make my steak taste good. In fact, they didn't even bring us A-1 sauce until we asked for it. My sides were steamed broccoli and garlic-mashed potatoes. Both sides tasted like they were microwaved. The garlic-mash had no noticeable taste of garlic. I hadn't been to an Outback Steakhouse in over 10 years because my experiences with Outback Steakhouse seem to always be consistently terrible. Shame on me for not sticking to my guns on this one. Outback will never get any more of my hard-earned money.

Stale bread. OVERCOOKED filet medallions. Ordered medim rare, were served medium well to WELL. Ruining such a fine piece of meat is really unforgivable. The Ribs were 4-star, which is the ONLY thing keeping this review at 2 stars, instead of 1 star. The salads were crisp and fresh, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. We called ahead for pickup and arrived at the exact moment they said it would be ready (20 minutes). We waited there for an additional 15 minutes at the take away section. Overall we had a decent experience, but for the price we would have been much better off going to Goodwood BBQ. Next time.

Salads always come out FAST! Amazing ranch dressing... only one time out of hundreds my salad wasn't super fresh... I once got wrinkly tomatoes... I should have said something! Steaks are tasty sometimes cooked perfect and sometimes a lil over done. 8 out of 10 times the service is great, especially for a chain. One of my favorite places to go when I am craving a salad. Oh I also ordered their baked potato soup... it was moderately good. I like their sweet potatoes a lot, and we always get their garlic mash!! YUM!
