I'm surprised it has taken me this long to write a review. Best pizza in Boise. Hands down. If you like thin NY Style you have found heaven. Ask for a fresh pie if you have a large party otherwise a slice or two awaits! Perfect blend of sauce and cheese. I typically like straight up cheese or pepperoni. Enjoy!!! Service is always pleasant!

"Guido's offers pizza at NY prices and half the NY size" I began a quest to try out all of the pizza places for the best NY style and of course I had to stop here. As a person who has eaten slices all over NYC I had to know if my fav place NY Giant Pizza in Boise still reigned champ. So how did Guido's fare against the Giant and Wise Guy's Pizza? - Price Are we in Manhattan? $2.50! The pizza is TWICE the cost as it would be in Brooklyn. $1.25 -Size This was a joke as it was HALF the size of an authentic NY slice, I almost cried when the lady fit it on the paper plate. NY pizza does not fit on a paper plate! -Flavor: Does it taste authentic? As pictured you can see the bottom was near burnt in areas. I lifted up the cheese and it was like trying to find Waldo to spot some sauce, cooking 101 could it be because the pizza was over burnt on the bottom it dried up the sauce? WE HAVE A WINNER. I will say the taste of my cheese bread (because it wasn't pizza) did have a nice crust, the semolina flour offers a great crunch and texture through out the dough. Cleanliness- The lady put my plate on a tray that had someone's left over topping on it (as pictured) how gross is that? I almost failed them just for that and rightly so. OVERALL- NY GIANT tops Guido's in every way BUT will Wise Guy pizza top them both? Keep following to find out

Not from Boise and so far best pizza I've had since moving here. My favorite was their vegetarian but the Canadian bacon, jalapeño, with olive oil was delicious too! Definitely coming back for another slice of pie soon. On the other hand the lady working with black glasses and braids was extremely rude!! I asked to add pineapple to my slice and she seemed upset. Then she proceeded to slam my pizza as if I asked too much. I hope the owner reads these and talks to her! After sitting here for 3 minutes she continue to use foul language and asking customers if they smoked. Please someone address this lady!!

Still really fabulous NY style pie. Still great prices. Still solid service (a bit gruff on occasion, perhaps). And, still: wine. And, now? They accept visa! Finally! Get to it!

I have been looking for a place that is as good as the pizza I left in NY, this is sooooooo close. Very good stuff. The ladies had a little to much NY "charm" for my liking but the gentleman was friendly. I truly appreciated the thin crust. I will go back as soon as I can.

My review is not about the food at Guido's; that is generally good if you like small-shop pizza that is good but not great (Pie Hole is much better, IMHO). This review is about the cleanliness and general quality of the operation. Specifically, I purchased a soda from Guido's today. The problem wasn't that they consider a 21 oz soda a "large" or that they charge $1.75 for said "large" soda. The problem was that, when I reached the bottom of the allegedly "large" soda, I found a little present. Thankfully, nothing so disgusting as a large bug or a used bandaid--I'd probably be hugging the toilet right now if that were the case. No, I found a single metal nut (the companion to a metal bolt) starring back at me from the bottom of my cup. Not as bad as the bug or bandaid, but still disgusting. I can only guess that this nut once had a home on the crappy little soda machine from whence my carbonated beverage poured. Time will tell if anything comes of this other than my generally revulsion and vow to not ever again patronize Guido's. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place until they bring their cleanliness standards up to par. It's one thing to project an exterior and vibe that say "I'm a hip, quirky little dive pizza joint that cares only about the pizza and nothing else!"; it's another (and much worse) thing to actually be a dive and actually disregard cleanliness and basic maintenance.

A solid pizza joint. I stopped in for a quick slice + salad. The salad was large, I asked for the garlic dressing and I was happy with my choice. I got a slice of veggie pizza and it was big for the price and tasty, but not life-changing. Tapatio, Sriracha, and of course parmesan and chili flakes were available. I was a little turned off by all the flies buzzing around, but it was by no means a dealbreaker. Prices were good, I paid just a bit over $6 for my food. I'd come back if I was looking for another cheap and quick dinner.

Here is the reason I gave it 5 stars: I have been to NY more than 6 times and this is NY style pizza. The dough is chewy so you can fold the slice and walk back down the street. Simple toppings you can't fold a slice and go if its covered in toppings. I took 5 slices home and heated them up there. You can get a hot slice or a pie to go if you want. If you get the cheese pizza slice they will add toppings that you want to it :) Finally a TRUE NY pizza place. Oh and another reason this is a NY pizza place (think Seinfeld, soup nazi) "what?! order you pizza, pay and move on" You want warm fuzzy Ya need to go to a different place. Nothing but NY love.

This is by far the best pizza place around!! Just walking into the joint you can smell how good it really is! It is my favorite pizza I have ever had and is a really good value as a slice will only run you a couple of dollars. It reminds me a pizza shop straight out of New York City, the kind of mom and pop shop only locals know!!!

  • Jeremy L.

Pizza was good, hot and large! Beer was good as it should be. Seems to be a busy place. Its a great for a date for two. Also any business that donates to veteran events like this one has are a 5 star in my book! I appreciate any businesses who supports and continues to support our veterans who have served our country. I would recommend this place and will keep returning.

I eat pizza a lot, from all over the world. This place in Boise has some of the best pizza I've ever had. Very good stuff.

We are visiting from out of town and just picked this place from yelp. We ordered the large pepperoni and sausage. So good!!

We love Guidos! Best pizza in Boise- New York style- a couple of slices and an orange cream soda...delicious!

  • Caroline T.

If you're looking for greasy cheap pizza, this is it! You get what you pay for....which is thin greasy pizza. Good for large groups needing to eat for cheap. However, if I want a real New York style slice, I head 7 minutes down Chinden onto Glenwood and go to New York Richies pizza. Overall, pretty decent for the price.

I was in Boise for one night and needed a late dinner. This thin-crust pizza is outstanding and I only wish I had a Guido's near my home in Oregon. Wow! Some of the very best I have ever eaten anywhere. Really, really worth the trip into downtown Boise. Easy to find, easy to park.

Damn this place is good ... tis a gift to be simple.

Nothing like John's pizza in New York. Pizza is good but far from great NY Pizza. The service was weird and I had to wipe my table down before I got to sit down. I asked the server to give me her favorite pizza they had and she looked at me like I was an idiot which I may be. Pie Hole in Meridian is twice as good.

  • Ashley F.

Awesomeness!! Being from NY guidos gives me NY style pizza without being there. I approve

  • Michelle W.

Loved it! We found Guido's here, had good reviews and was really close to where we were, so we checked it out. Prices were perfect, $15 for a large (20 in) that fed me and my 4 boys. Reasonably quick getting the whole pie out to us, although they have by the slice too. Crust was good, we liked the texture and the thickness seemed right. Not too much cheese like some have so it wasn't super greasy. We're not from the area but we'd go back and be more than happy to drive a little out of the way.

Best pizza in Boise! I always get the White Pizza!

  • Ellie N.

Everything about this place is fantastic. The staff is so friendly and fast. The slices of pizza are big and cheap. The location is nice and convenient, down town Boise, yet not in the busy crowded part. It's the best pizza in Boise!

    (5)
  • Travis S.

Classic authentic NY pie by the slice. Attitude to match, with Boise prices. Best salad dressings. I always get extra to dip my crust in. The crust is perfect all in its own, but these dressings are HEAVENLY. Favorite toppings are arugula, basil, and meatball. I miss this place!

Best Pizza in the WORLD I've been around the entire world, from the birthplace of pizza (Italy), to where Guido's style was invented (New York City), and everywhere in between. I can say 100% without a doubt this is the best pizza I've had. Ever. In my life. Not only is it a great value, it's just downright divine. Every time I come to Boise, the first place I go right off the plane is Guido's. Order whatever looks good because you literally can't go wrong. 100/100

  • Brad W.

Same brand. Same pizza. But a completely different vibe, virtually the polar opposite of the Chinden Blvd. location. Very different animals, they are. So I just finished eating lunch next door. And I was quite convinced that I was full. As I was about to go back to my car, that's when it hit me. That smell. Just then, I was magnetically drawn to pull on Guido's front door. Whoosh! Basil. Tomato sauce. Cheese. Dough. My olfactory senses were in heaven. Now as I mentioned before, this is the same brand and same product as the other location. But for some reason, it tasted much better than my most recent experience at the other store. Actually, I can tell you the reason. Here, they didn't skimp on the cheese and the dough was the correct consistency. I was a bit taken back by the gruff factor of the staff, which was in full effect today. But for some reason, it fits this part of town. This isn't the business district, by far. Yet, in distance, only a couple blocks away. So you choose. A more consistent product served in a dimly lit room with a side of 'tude? Or hit-miss pizza made by a courteous staff and brighter atmosphere?

Outstanding little pizza dive. They serve great pies. My favorite is the white pizza. Have been here for years. Served on thin, chewy, flavorful crust typical to new york style. Hand tossed dough in a small, open kitchen next to the register. They also serve some fun bottled sodas and beers that are a bit off the beaten path, which is appreciated. Also, call way ahead, its a popular place and its common to wait up to an hour for a call ahead pie on a weekend.

    (4)
  • Neda S.

By far THE BEST NY style pizza in boise. It can not get any better than this unless you go to NYC. My favorites are the basil and veggie but they are all good. Super friendly staff and great prices. Make sure you have cash since they have a $4 minimum on cards.

Went here for pizza last week and didn't get a chance to write my review. This place has great thin crust (New York style) pizza. They made mine fresh and it was amazing. The sauce is key for me in a good pizza and theirs was really good. It had a little bit of chunkiness to the sauce with bits of tomato that made it much better and different than most pizzas I've had. I've had pizza guy in Nampa and the pizza in the mall at Boise town square. None touches this place. If you can get past the hole in the wall atmosphere and shitty downtown parking, then you need to try this place out. Not a refined and sophisticated place for the hipster crowd. It looks a little more rough n tumble than most downtown Boise restaurants. That doesn't bother a roughneck like me though. Try em out!

Living in Boise for a year now but from Philly and then school in Manhattan...first place to have pizza that felt like "home" ...very good.

    (5)
  • Andrew H.

Excellent New York style pizza by the slice or whole pie. Not delicate, just big, flavorful, fold over slices of pie.

    (3)
  • Vlad B.

By far the best pizza in town. Proper thin crust, delicious ingredients, outstanding pie. This place is absolutely a hole in the wall but who cares when the food is a full notch above the next best? Grab a whole pie to go, or grab a slice and drink to take out to the picnic table with some friends and savor the amazing flavor of superior pizza.

  • Jonathan H.

Pretty darn good pizzas, definitely recommend over the chain stores. The white pizza is especially tasty.

    (5)
  • Phil O.

Grew up on Long Island where pizza and bagels rule on high. Straight up the sausage and pepperoni pizza was the best slice I've ever had outside of New York. The Jets, Rangers, Mets and Yankees decor is a nice touch as well.

    (5)
  • John S.

At Guido's, the crust shines. Most places pay scant attention to their crust and it's a big reason they fail. The Guido's crust would make a great flatbread. The toppings are good and don't overwhelm. I'm a meat eater but one of the pizzas ordered by coworkers was a vegetarian offering and it was tasty, too. This isn't Apizza Scholls in Portland or Ken's Artisan Pizza. But it's very good and better than I expected to find back home in Boise.

  • Lesly W.

I love this place! Drove 350 miles for their pizza and a fat tire beer on the patio! Love!

    (5)
  • Dora S.

Guido's, no I won't go there anymore. It is expensive for what they offer, skimpy topped slice of crisp bread. The pizza crust is fine, it is just that dough is not worth what they charge...very little toppings they have been ripping-off their customers.

    (1)
  • Meghan H.

This pizza was awesome!! You never know when people say "NY style pizza" what you'll actually get, but this was the real deal. My friends and I shared a large white pizza and we devoured it. I would definitely recommend Guido's for some good, greasy, authentic NY style pizza!

    (5)
  • Josh B.

Every time I crave pizza, I get guidos. Great place. Crust is phenomenal. I usually just go for the plain ol cheese. Always excellent. Service is always friendly. My brother lived in NYC for a couple years and says this is as close as it gets out west. Especially Idaho.

There was a giant blizzard at lunchtime today, but instead of cancelling on my friend and leaving her with no food I decided to brave the weather! When my husband found out we were planning pizza, he came along too. When we got to Guido's, there wasn't much of a crowd... but that was just fine with us. The gal behind the counter was friendly & helpful, and she went over the various kinds of pizza they had today. We chose two pepperoni slices, and three tomato & spinach on olive oil. They were fresh & hot... and a really good deal! Friend & Hubby both were first-timers and they both said they'd be back. Service was quick, too! Despite the weather and all the one-way streets, we had my friend back at her office within 45 minutes! (Also, I just heard that they'll take credit/debit cards for a $4+ purchase. Yeay!)

Best New York style pizza in Boise, maybe anywhere. My favorites are their basil or pepperoni but they do everything well.

  • Lisa B.

My favorite pizza place in the whole valley. The inside of the business is totally roach but the pizza is awesome.

    (5)
  • Cammie C.

Good pizza and friendly service. If you like bubbly crust then you'll love this place. Lots of casual seating inside and two large picnic table outside. Coke products. Decent tossed salad with yummy homemade dressing. Must pay for parking. Reasonably priced. Best leftover pizza I've ever had!

    (4)
  • Nora B.

Oh my !!!! This place is simply amazing. My friends and I bought two pizzas for take out and their slices are huge !!! But now more importantly, their pizzas are the true authentic Italian pizzas !! Delicious.

  • Melissa R.

We were visiting from out of state. Never had NY style pizza. We loved it. Great pizza at a awesome price. It was also a family place. Our kids were amazed at the size of the pizza slices.

    (5)
  • Scott N.

Nothing fancy about this place, just the best pizza in town. Only Smokey Mountain gives them a run on quality. I once had to provide food for an event, so I ordered from Guido's.... ha!!! you should have seen everyone's faces when I showed up with pizza from Guido's. They were all over it.

    (5)
  • Ajay D.

Wow is all I can say. I was on a trip from Seattle and wanted to grab some pizza before my flight. I yelped and based on the reviews, decided to try it. I lived in nj/ny for 15 years and also consider myself a pizza snob but this took be back many years. True NYC style slices and amazing taste.

  • April N.

Being from back east, I love Guido's. Their crust and sauce is perfect. I've turned my husband, a Californian, to the style and to Guido's. We love going up all the way from Mountain Home just to grab some REAL PIZZA. I've also gone boarding up at Bogus and just had to have some pizza to take home after a long day. Their salads are also put together well and hand made dressings are amazing!

  • David E.

If you have read my other reviews, you will know I hail from the Garden State, so I know my pizza. When I live in an area, I look for the real deal, so when I saw the sign for "Guidos New York Style Pizza" I gotta try it and with great skepticism, especially when you see the "atmosphere"... NY Mets, Yankees, Jets stuff on the walls. Well, after ordering 2 plain cheese slices, I found my new pizza place! It's the real deal. In Boise. Idaho. Potato land. I can't believe it. The crust was thin and crispy enough not to droop, but baked just right so I could fold my slices like you're supposed to. There was the right amount of sauce and cheese and everything was perfect! The prices are great too! Like a 20" pie for $14.00? Outstanding! Luckily, there is one closer to where I live, so that gives me a chance to check them out, too. RUN! Don't walk to Guidos for real pizza!

    (5)
  • Mike H.

Great slice of New York style yumminess. A little light on toppings, but full of flavor. We picked some up and brought to our hospital room and it was still warm and tasty.

  • Reyz A.

Hey! Youz Guyz! How 'U Doin'? I had to schlep all my travel bags all the way from the airport shvitzing the whole way just to grab some nosh. Knock it OWFF! The people in Idaho are no Putz and have the chutzpah to put a nice pizza joint. You may have to stand "on line" cause it's pretty good. No subways here, no heros or subs or "HAWT DAWG". It's just a nice pizza scene. OK, enough of my bad NY accent. For an out-of-towner like me, I like the pizza by the slice here. Something with the crust. The choices are good--Guido's original, Basil, Vegie, or Pepperoni and some random slice of the day. If you're thirsty have some "WOODA" Go Yankees ...?? Red Sox Suck?

    (4)
  • Sharece B.

Best pizza in Boise. We used to come into Boise just for Guidos when we were college students. I love this small, hip joint. You can order pizza by the slice or get a full one to take with you. The pizza is delicious, but it's very greasy as well. Yes, they serve salads, but if you're headed to Guido's, you might as well order a slice of pizza and then walk downtown Boise for a few hours to work off the calories. Definitely hit Guidos on your next BODO (Boise Downtown) adventure. You'll love it.

  • Jeff P.

Ah, Guidos... I was raised in Queens, NY so when I saw the words "New York Style Pizza" all the way here in Boise, the usual train of thought that goes through my mind is: "Woohoo.... wait, hold up, NY pizza in Boise? Gotta be crap." After trying it for about 8 different times however, my official review is a bit in between crap and bellissimo. The Taste Gosh it's pretty close... but let me clarify by close. With lots of Italians dropping out of the pizza business in NY, not even all NY places can be deemed authentic anymore. Guidos is close in taste to those non-italian, "okay" places in NYC. The taste they have resembles a majority of the pizza joints in NY today. Seriously huge achievement in it of itself. The Experience Even closer. All you need is the grape, fruit punch and orange juice fountains in the back and a freezer full of Italian ice. The Intangibles FAIL. 8 out of 8 times that I've tried their pizza, up to about half the slice from the tip is closer to a quesadilla than it is a pizza. Coming from the other direction, you have then have about 2-3 inches of crust. This is what absolutely pisses me off about this place and places that do the same. Rule #1: Don't skimp on ingredients! It's one thing to get it wrong all together... but why when you have it so close do you make it worse by being cheap? It's like they figure Boiseans wont know any better.

    (2)
  • Bryce W.

Guido's actually surprised me quite a bit. They pull of the whole New York style thing quite well. The slices were of a decent size and the prices are pretty standard for a slice joint. I was expecting this place to be about as good as Pie Hole, which did not impress me at all. Between the two, Guido's is undoubtedly superior. There were a lot of flies buzzing around the restaurant while I was there. Too many to be ok with. Also, if you ask for water, they serve it out of a pitcher just chilling on the counter. I thought that was odd. There were a few specks of dirt in my water. The food is great. If it was a bit cleaner, I may have added the 5th star. For Boise, Idaho, you really can't do any better than Guido's. Now all I have to do is see if I can eat an entire 18" pie by myself.

    (4)
  • Chad T.

If you're high or pregnant, go to Pie Hole for the deliciously wacky combos, but if you want bomb legit NY style pizza, Guido's is effing fantastic. I dream of NY pizza at least once a week, and Guido's is a godsend.

I am always on the lookout for the perfect NY style pizza. Who would've known that I would've found it on my trip to Boise. THIS IS A PLACE I HAD TO COME BACK TWICE IN ONE DAY. No joke, I had lunch here today and now I'm eating here for dinner. Makes for the perfect business trip.

    (5)
  • Dani S.

The pizza here rocks! Husband and I ordered some pizza by the slice, but I could've definitely taken an entire pizza home it was so good! Would definitely recommend for someone wanting a good thin crust, greasy, flavorful, giant slice of pizza!

  • Michele H.

Looking for a place to run in and quickly grab something to go for dinner, and we stopped here. Totally didn't expect anything great... was pleasantly surprised. Tasty toppings, wonderful, chewy crust... really, fairly priced and FAST! Far better than anything I can get in my hometown. Will definitely return!

  • Matthew G.

This place isn't big, it isn't fancy, but yet it still lured us in with a sweet, yeasty siren's song that wafted out the front door every time we walked past on our way downtown from Boise Guest House. We knew we eventually had to stop in for a bite. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for it to be cash-only and we only had $4 in our pockets (the total was $4.35 for 2 slices of pizza); the cashier was nice enough to spot us the 35 cents and let us be on our way, but as we ate our hit-the-spot thin-but-soft pizza slices outside on the sidewalk, we realized we each just had to get a 2nd slice, so we eyeballed the nearest ATM, got some more cash, and went for a 2nd round. Good pizza, nice workers, reasonable prices. No complaints.

If ny style pizza is your thing, then it's hard to beat this place anywhere in the Treasure Valley

  • Rachell N.

    Yum! And it's cheap, too!

    (5)
  • Angela W.

The price is right and the pizza is fabulous! I have had a lot of pizza in my life, and let me tell ya there is something about the pizza sauce that is spot on! Its sort of zesty with a sweetness. I would get a side just to dip my crust in! And their white sauce piazza is great too, not too heavy. And the atmosphere is a lot cleaner than pie hole. Don't forget: they only take cash or check.

If you like thin crust, a perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and crust, if you have a soul, you will love this pizza. 5/5 would nom again.

  • Kevin B.

I love pizza and I love to travel. This is the best pizza I have ever had. Live in Boise and eat at guido's once a week. Through all my travels I have not found a pizza place that compares. New York style or not. Love me some guido's!

    (5)
  • Grant H.

All they need is a bunch of friendly Albanians running the joint and they would be really a lot like Famiglia which is one of the big chain pizzerias back in New York. Many malign Famiglia but I think they cook the quintessential thin crust, garlicky, insulin coma-inducing crispy pizza that I ate for many years in New York City. Guido's does it pretty much the same, for better or worse. Service is friendly and businesslike. The restaurant is small, though, and I wish they'd have just a little more seating. I mean, even Famiglia chains in Manhattan are bigger. Prices are reasonable, and as many from NYC will tell you, is there any kind of pizza to care about besides regular thin crust cheese pizza?

    (5)
  • Phil D.

Good pizza, but inconsistent. Had a quick lunch here about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the basil slice. But when I came back this week there was a lot less cheese and the dough tasted off, as if it didn't rise properly. I'd eat this pizza every day over the Flying Pie, though.

Now that I have been graduated from college, have a big girl job, and rarely let myself drink to the point of craving a whole pizza from Pie Hole... I got to thinking that I should definitely replace my cheap/drunk pizza place that encourages pizza binging at 3 am with a place that I don't mind walking into at noon. That place is Guido's. They put something in their dang crust that makes it irresistable. They always have cheap prices. They are super nice. And best of all, they switch up their offerings while staying true to traditional pizza toppings. I just love Guido's!

    (4)
  • Brian H.

I've used Guido's as a comparable gold standard for quality and affordability in other reviews and realized that I never did an actual review for Guido's. Not really much to add here though. Solid and cheap. Ba da bing. I keep trying out other places that do NY-style and regret it in the end for believing some place here can improve on Guido's offerings. A recent reviewer questioned the cleanliness of the place, but as of the last inspection (2/14/11) there were no violations. For awhile, the pizzas that I would order on Sundays weren't quite up to snuff for whatever reason, but that hasn't happened recently. Also the 'tude factor has gone down. I actually didn't mind it (employees were gruff but not condescending), and in a weird way I kind of miss it. Given my experiences over the years at NY pizza joints employed with either native or non-native New Yorkers, I almost expect to have that kind of service and just be blunt right back at them. But everyone I've dealt with for awhile has been personable and blunt-free. For basic frills-free NY pizza, Guido's reigns supreme in Boise.

Best pizza in boise. If your expecting a commercial grade pizza with 10 toppings then don't come here. Get a slice of basil and the special. Big slices and great pizza.

    Great pizza

  • Greg B.

Very Good Thin-crust Pizza. I have gone here multiple times and each time I am amazed at how delicious this pizza is. It's fairly basic, they don't have a full, varied selection of pizza, but who needs that? The basil, pepperoni and classic cheese pizzas are extremely delicious. The thin crust has the perfect brittleness, not too hard but not completely soft, perfect. It's great for a quick meal of pizza slices during the day and I actually plan on getting some tonight!

Really great pizza by the slice, the crust is awesome. A couple vegetarian options. Really good beer selection (although small) of draft and bottled beers, mostly domestic west coast breweries. probably like $8/9 for 2 slices and a beer. good pizza too. the only downfall is its Cash Only!

Our family are big fans of Guido's that is where we generally get our pizza for family night. The closest you will get to New York style pizza and the price is right. The only draw back is that they do not deliver. But when your pizza is that good and your value is there...people will come to you. If you live on this end of town you must try it and see what you think.

This is my favorite "cheap" pizza. I like the basic east coast vibe. Reminds me of the good times in Providence. The spinach salad with the creamy garlic dressing is really popular.

This is the real deal pizza pie. Small joint, very little seating, paper plates and kick butt pizza!!!!! Best thin crust I have had in a long time and no question the best pizza we have had in the Valley.

The greatest thin flat delicious pizza ever! Staff is always hip and helpful. Do yourself a favor and go get some Guido's!

Cheap, good, NY style pizza that is just as good sober as it is when you're drunk.

Being a native (upstate) New Yorker, I can say hands down not only is this the best NY style pizza in Idaho, but it's the best in the West! After living in CA for several years, nothing there comes close to Guido's. I've even had friends from Brooklyn come out and say it's better than a lot of the pizza in the city even.

For a guy who doesn't like thin crust pizza, I thought this place was pretty good. Definitely a cheap place to go for lunch - they have maybe five types of pizza by the slice - cheese or basil for $1.80 a slice and pepperoni, veggie or the pizza of the day for $2.05. The slices are huge and the toppings aren't bad - I got today's special which was garlic, green bell peppers, red onions, and olives. It was awesome - even the dough was good. I'd definitely drop by again for lunch - nice, fast, inexpensive. Might have to try this place at night, too...

By far my favorite New York Style pizza on the west coast. I've been to many all of the western states and this still is my favorite. The food is delicious and so many amazing choices!

I just finished my slice of vegetarian pizza and I really enjoyed it. They really know how to do the thin crust- good texture and not too hard or soft. The vegetable pizza was loaded with veggies. Service is fast and easy. The sauce was very nice and there was a lot of it. The only thing I didn't like too much was that the pizza was pretty oily. Other than that, I'm not a thin crust kind of person but I definitely enjoyed this slice.

Neapolitan pizza seems to be the gold standard these days and Chicago the American gourmet choice but New York pizza will come back one of these days. Fortunately Guido's is keeping the flame alive. Great pizza, friendly service, appropriately tacky eating area.

In my opinion, this is the BEST New York Style pizza (at least in Boise OR the entire state of Idaho OR the Pacific Northwest OR the West Coast OR west of the Rocky Mountains OR hell...why not outside of New York?)!! The crust is sometimes a little TOO thin...so thin that you'll occasionally find a hole in your pizza, but there are no other complaints here. Boise is lucky to have Guido's!

Best pizza available in downtown Boise. When lunch time is rapidly approaching and I have a craving for pizza, this is my destination, even though I walk past 2 other pizza places on my trip from the office. I only wish their dining room was bigger since it can get pretty busy during lunch time.

Best East Coast Style Pizza west of the Hudson River!

Best pizza in Boise, great bargain. There isn't much seating at either location- but there is some limited seating outside downtown. On average, a large pizza is about $12, and it is about two feet across. It's thin crust, so there isn't a ton there, but it will feed three people pretty easiy. Get the the white pizza (sundried tomato, basil, cheese), and order a side of roasted garlic dressing. Start dipping, and you are in the middle of possibly the best pizza experience you will ever have. By the way- bring cash- they don't take cards.

I am shocked, simply shocked that Guido's only has two prior reviews to mine! This place is so good that it will be the first place I stop after my flight touches down! The food is AMAZING, the atmosphere is great and the prices are decent. Stop eating Papa John's or Pizza Hut, that's crap pizza! Eat Guido's because oddly enough, you will be eating true New York style pizza in Idaho. ps: GO VANDALS! BTW: it is cash and check only, but there is a Wells Fargo ATM right next door, so order your pie then grab some cash!

Hands down the best place to get a slice in the city, if not the whole state... Not much else to say other than they have GREAT PIZZA at very reasonable prices. This is not necessarily the first place I would go to order a whole pizza, (I might prefer Tony's, Cassanova's, or Flying Pie for that) but if you just want to grab a quick bite to eat, look no further!!!

Best NY pizza in Boise. A few of the staff can be a bit surly at times, though I guess that just makes it feel even more NY. The crust tends to be better on weekdays than weekends.

This is my favorite pizza place in Boise. I hit up both locations! I'm an East Coaster and this really hits the spot.

Guido's is terrific! Much better than the local yokels usual "Best of Boise" faves like Flying Pie.

Hands down, the best pizza in Boise. A little greasy, but that is how NY style pizza is supposed to be.

If you're having an unstoppable craving for New York style pizza in Idaho, of all places, Guido's is about the best you'll be able to do. Expect thin crust pizza sold by the slice (about $1.50) with sauce on the sweet side and not too much cheese. You can also order soda, wine or beer from servers who are in a perpetual NY-style hurry. Keep an eye out for the totally random NY-sports-team themed wall decorations.

great thin-crust pizza place! i was visiting my cousins in boise and went here for lunch. its nice that they have slices, since not every place does. and it was super affordable for such awesome pizza! and they say all idaho has are potatoes...

I love stopping in for a quick bite and when I am kinda broke bcs it's very affordable, fast, hot and delicous. The staff is always friendly and the owner is a standup guy! I love my hot food really hot so I appreciate that each slice is specially heated up for me. They also have kickass salads and beer.

Great pizza! We had a taste off with Pie Hole and Guido's won hands down. Crust was perfect with that slight crisp then backed with tasty sauce. So many NY style pizza's try to achieve what Guido's does.
