Its corporate chain Italian that you can go in to get a quick fix of traditional dishes and some new ones here and there. Nothing will blow you away, but they do a decent job. Can get a good meal at a decent price, with more than likely left overs. The food sometimes falls short of expectations and leaves you wanting some true traditional Italian flavors. I've had some far better Italian, this place doesn't have that mama in the kitchen touch. They are okay for some dishes, but doesn't have that authentic taste that some great Italian restaurants have. I do use Olive Garden for catering for my job, they do GREAT JOB on that. They can bang out large orders with the best of them.

This place sucks! I know a lot of women like this place, but it is not for me. All you can eat salad, but you must have their salad dressing, that's all they have, no blue cheese to be found! Their bread sticks are ok, but who cares, you can get a tasty bread stick out of the freezer section at the grocery store! The pasta did not impress me at all, as well as the sauces. If I want canned spaghetti I'll stay at home and it won't cost near as much. I WILL NEVER EAT AT AN OLIVE GARDEN AGAIN!

I had food poisoning twice now from eating at the Olive Garden in Dubuque. I won't be back.

Chain restaurants are always the most difficult to review. What is new to say, aren't they pretty much the same all over? I went here for lunch on a weekday and my dining partner tried out the new panini addition to the menu and ordered the Shrimp Scampi Fritta Sandwich (half size). We ended up splitting the sandwich and my Linguine alla Marinara between the two of us so I got to try the sandwich as well. We were both unimpressed. The sandwich fell apart and was difficult to eat and there just seemed to be so much bread. The pasta was great and I really like the lunch portions instead of the dinner portions. One thing I've noticed about this location is that it is very common to see the lady I assume to be a manager. She often comes around to the tables and asks how the meal is and makes sure you have everything you need. Very nice to see that.

Typically we get it to go. Never takes more than 15 minutes. When we dine in were treated very well. Good food. Love the salad. Many of the main courses just have different combinations of the same ingredients. Nice taste. if you can't decide then try either tour of italy

We had dinner here while spending the weekend in Galena, we were hesitant given the lesser reviews. Best service I've received at any Olive Garden, and better than most other restaurants. From the moment I approached the door, the server saw me with a baby carrier and dashed to the door to open it for me. Thank you. Our server Michelle M. was very pleasant and attentive to our needs, she brought by refills before we asked for them, that's always nice. Each time she came by with a smile and no sign of the usual bored, tired look I'm used to. Food was on par, pretty standard and to our liking. Restaurant was clean, smelled fine, good air circulation. Wish I could say the same for our local Olive Garden. Overall, very pleasant experience. Thank you!

I'll start by saying my server was extremely nice. Unfortunately that didn't help the food. Probably the worst Olive Garden meal I've ever had. The pasta with parm sauce was heated to high or too fast causing the oils to separate out of the cheese and giving it a "left overs" taste/texture. Even the breadsticks seemed like they had been made earlier that morning and reheated before serving to me. I'm not sure if the fact that it was Monday had anything to do with it but the place wasn't empty.

Corporate approximation of Italian. Good minestrone and salad. The worst eggplant parmigiana I have ever had--deep fried nasty breading with mediocre marinara slopped on top of it. Nice service. Okay pomodoro and almost good alfredo. But the grilled chicken was obviously wood-grilled at some corporate office kitchen and frozen and shipped here. Boo hiss.

It's Olive Garden, what's not to love? The menu is the same here as it is anywhere else. The staff was great, Jeff is an awesome waiter. We had a nice dinner.

Why are you reading this review? If you've ever been to an Olive Garden, you know exactly what to expect. But in case you haven't, try the capellini pomodoro - tomatoes, garlic, basil and olive oil with capellini. It's delicious, and not too heavy. I also love their tiramisu.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
