    Since this is a chain restaurant, I won't comment on the food; it's the standard fare cooked around the country. My favorites have always been the hashbrowns and strawberry crepes. I do appreciate the recent interior updates to VI restaurants. Very cool retro. Service was excellent on a busy Saturday morning. One item was left off of my husband's order, but it was quickly remedied. As with other VIs, the servers and managers are friendly and responsive.

    Village Inn on Harrison is one of the best. Our waitress, Shawna, has to be the greatest. We will certainly go there again. Shawna made us feel so comfortable and I had to have a special order and she made sure to take care of it for me and did not make me feel out of line in asking what I needed. We felt so at home.

    3 egg omelette what a joke i dont know how small the eggs are but they have to be super small they brought out the tiniest omelette ive ever seen. ive personally made 3 egg omelettes that cover a normal plate... this one took a small peice of real estate on the right side of my plate. when i paid i should have paid in small currency im sorry you dont like my pennies? give me a 3 egg omeette next time never will i return

    I arrived to find the place empty. It was late afternoon. Ordered the eggs benedict. Portions small : eggs were cooked perfect but not much or very little hollandaise sauce. coffee - room for improvement (weak) I had the lemon pie...not very good

    When we arrived at the Inn, the dining room was packed and it wasn't even 5:30! Leading the way to our booth, the hostess mentioned they were so busy because it was "Free Slice Wednesday". Apparently a very popular time of week as everyone ordering an entree and beverage also received a free slice of their your choice of award-winning pies. I ordered the chopped steak smothered in brown gravy and freshly sauteed mushrooms, with carrots and broccoli on the side. All accompanied with two perfectly toasted/grilled slices of garlic bread. Can I say I was very pleasantly surprised? Walking into the restaurant it had the feel of a Perkins or Big Boy, but the Inn truly delivered on flavor. My chopped steak was so juicy, it took me by surprise. I got my slice of pie to go, and my friend shared part of the French Silk pie she got. It was to die for! Servers were on their game and quick to take care of us. The restaurant was clean and the prices were excellent. Don't know if we'll have time to get back, but if I lived here it would definitely happen on a regular basis.

    while i have ordered many things to go later at night, i have gotten an immediate response upon attempts to order that include that will cost you extra to order at 11 pm since we close at 1am. to no you cannot see a regular menu this late at night. to getting the food home and finding it is not exactly edible due to just being crappy quality food at a high quality price. i have gotten poor service, and poor quality food and dread the thought of ever going back to try again. the coffee taste has gone way down hill as well and usually tastes pretty darn weak. something just does not seem right with this restaurant and especially seems wrong since they painted the roof an ugly green.

    I thought Village Inn was supposed to be one of the better chains places. To me they were always known for quality food and baked goods. Not anymore. I went to there this morning with my 3 little ones(4,4,2) while Mom was off on a weekend away. I should have known to turn around when it smelled bad and half the staff were hanging out on the side of the building for a smoke break. It smelled like a funky chinese food place. Strike one. We were then seated and waited for over 5 minutes for a server. Drinks anyone, coffee for me and OJ for the kids. I got the coffee right away but the kids had to wait for over 5 minutes. Let me clarify, there were probably 10 tables filled at 8am on Sunday. She drops the drinks and then wants us to order. One kids pancake breakfast, two kids breakfasts with sausage, and chicken fried steak for me. It took close to 15 minutes to get the food. My first major mistake was ordering the eggs scrambled. Ever had really bad powdered eggs? I have now. Mealy eggs are not good. In addition, the eggs and sausage breakfasts had 3 bites of eggs and the pancake breakfast had what appeared to be 3 eggs as a side. Ironically, the eggs and sausage was $3.79 while the pancakes were $3.49. I don't get it. Literally there was 3 times the amount of food on the pancake plate as on the others. Moving on, would you like a crispy chicken fried steak. I'm not talking about the breading. How about the meat? funky, funky funky... The eggs were as bad as the kids eggs. I always clean my plate and I could only stomach about half of them. Here's the topper. No one ever came back to our table. The waitress and both managers on duty passed our table numerous times and no one ever offered to pick up my plates even though my silverware and napkin were on top of the plate. Isn't that a clue that you are supposed to pick the plate up? Adding insult to injury the waitress finally comes by as we are getting up to leave offering to get the plates out of our way. Seriously??? Final little insult. We paid at the front and the manager checked us out. He offered to sell us a pie but never even bothered to ask how our food was. I would have told him but decided that my best bet was to avoid this place like the plague and make sure you all do the same.
