I'm a big fan of places that hand out free popcorn.. woohoo! So that is one big plus. The pizza is also quite good and they have decently priced beer. We were driving back to Chicago from Iowa City on a Sunday - we had wanted to get to Chicago in time to watch the Bears game IN Chicago but overslept. We were in the vicinity of Davenport around gametime and found this place through yelp. When we pulled up we were a little skeptical because the bar is in a dingy run-down building on the side of a busy road - didn't look promising. But in the end we were happy we went. The restaurant is nice and large when you get in, has a large bar area, tons of TVs and there were plenty of fans there but it wasn't annoyingly crowded. If I had to complain about something, some of the table surfaces were sticky and the tall barstools were slightly uncomfortable. Not really a big deal though! A lot of the people seemed to be regulars based on most of the interactions we saw. We saw several families with each family member wearing team jerseys. Seems like a nice place to sit and watch a game and I am happy we stopped by to get an Iowa football watching experience!

Come here every time we are in town. This was a very disappointing visit. The staff was less than happy to be working. No one smiled and seemed bothered to have to help anyone. The man behind the bar seemed to be running the show for the entire bar. The female waitress was on her phone, eating, and drinking red Bull the entire time we were here. Tables were dirty * there were only 6 tables in the bar when we were here. There were at least 4 dirty tables covered in drinks and leftover food. We ordered drinks and food immediately as we were waited on, 2 tables next to us received their food items before we did. They ordered after we did. When our food arrived over 25 minutes later it was cold. The fries on both dishes were cold and under cooked. The Philly had the incorrect cheeses (that weren't melted) on the cold bun with the meat falling off the sandwich. Upon arrival into the establishment the bar was covered with drinks and food dishes and an overflowing trash can while employees sat at the bar and others were on their phones. The entry door was covered in cigarette butts that haven't obviously been cleaned in some time. The bartender when making drinks put his fingers in the drinks as well as on the drinking part of straws and glasses. He used a jigger to pour a single shot as the other server used a free pour and poured twice or more what he was pouring. The bartender asked how our food was. We informed him it was cold. He apologized and informed us he knew my food was incorrect and he would either re make or take off our bill. He knew the food was cold and took a long amount of time and seemed frustrated, not with us but he stated the kitchen wasn't busy enough for it to be incorrect. This will definitely be our last trip here , where it had always been our go to place for food and drinks while in town. Very disappointing.

My friend got kicked out for " not wearing his hat right" they told him it was gang related. Completely absurd and racist, horrible service and disgusting food. Don't waste your time or money

Best bloody marys in town! We stop here every Thanksgiving morning after the Turkey Trot for a (or several) bloody marys. They always have the popcorn going. Staff is always friendly. I've ate here on a couple of occasions and the food is good. Just good ol bar food. It seems a little dingy in there, but its clean for the most part.

Rookies is what I love about Iowa. It is a good, hometown dive bar, just across the border from Illinois, making it a great welcome back to a wonderful state. However, it is a dive bar, and let me not deceive you, it is truly dive. They offer a wide range of domestic beers and typical mixed drinks, as well as an outrageous variety of shots and mixed shots. This is exactly why I went home quite early, because they were so generous and forthcoming with the drinks at Rookies that I ended up feeling like one. Overall, it is a nice place to stop in if you're looking for a throwback to your favorite college bar. It's got a jukebox, pool, booze and snacks. Covers the basics, and my impression is that it's a Davenport staple.

not exactly trendy place (good thing) but a great little sports bar to become a regular at. Friday's can be packed with summer bands getting gigs here, but Saturday afternoons, this is a great place to share a pizza and catch a game.

Sat at the bar and had a burger, fry's and a beer. All were good . Service from the bartender was excellent. Never had an empty beer bottle. About what you would expect from a sports bar on a Saturday night!

Stopped in for lunch with coworkers on a Friday. Place was pretty empty but got a little more busy as the lunch rush rolled in. Good decor and service was excellent. Bacon cheese burger basket was very good. One problem was some guy, obviously an employee, dirty with torn and tattered clothes was walking around. Obviously bored but kinda gave me a homeless feel. I'm sure it was nothing and the servers ignored his presence. Overall good place. I'll definitely stop in again.
