There were 11 of us and the Habachi chef was absolutely no friendly. He complained about how trouble we were for having too many people and too many requests (only asked to make some of our food spicy) in front of us. We was looking for a good time but the situation was too intense. This is not a complain, it is simply a note for those who are looking for a fun time as well.

Nice atmosphere. The food is prepared fresh in front of you. The portions are good-sized. Prices are in line with what you're receiving. The exhaust fans could be a bit more powerful. At times it gets pretty smokey, and your clothes smell like Hibachi when you leave. Also, the waitresses aren't as attentive as I would like. It could be due to how crowded the place is. It seems hard to get around people. Seating should be spaced out a little more.

I've eaten at Osaka a handful of times and always ordered sushi without any problem. However, following my last experience I have never returned. My husband, sister, friend, and friend's husband all ordered sushi one evening and ordered identical platters. One day later, friend's husband is very ill. The following day, my sister and I are bedridden due to vomiting, cramps, and other unpleasantries. I believe our illness came from what we ordered that night and have no idea how the other two escaped it. Prior to this, the sushi was the substandard kind you're likely to find in this part of the country. Sad, as the staff were always very accommodating and kind.

WOW. After our first visit, when I had given this place 4 stars, I really had hoped for a good experience. This was our second (and quite probably LAST) visit. First of all... spicy tuna sushi. A good sushi has real pieces of the raw tuna. This one had chopped raw tuna. Totally disappointing. Next... the waitress really did not know her stuff. She couldn't hear us order, because she stood on the other side of the grill to take the orders. She got my order wrong. Finally, they got every bill (there were three groups) wrong at our table, mischarging everyone, and charging for items that nobody had even received. The manager informed the lady at our table, who had already been handed three wrong bills, overcharging her each time, that there was no higher authority than her, and they would have to pay their bill whether it was right or wrong. The couple next to us was charged $115... and charged for sushi as well. They did not buy nearly that much food, and they certainly had not had sushi... They were even billed for my son's chocolate milk. The staff spent at least half an hour handing us each incorrect bills, going back, juggling the bills around, and bringing us back new (and still incorrect) bills. I don't know what they were trying to do, but really, it was a comedy of errors and they were just intent on getting paid, whether it meant having each of us overpay or not. My husband and I were actually undercharged. We sat around for the good portion of the next half an hour waiting to pay extra. I'd say it was pretty generous of us, given the circumstances. The food was fine. The management was inept, refused to defer to any real management or take any responsibility at all, and it felt pretty shady by the time we left. Buyer beware.

Good but not special. Food was tasty. Price was reasonable staff was pleasant. Pretty typical stuff for a Japanese restaurant.

Coming from a place where hibachi is so popular... I LOVE Osaka's hibachi. The reason I give four stars is because their sushi is average. It's definitely not bad, but not the best sushi. Focus now... Hibachi. Their chefs are all hilarious. The scallop, shrimp, and lobster are incredibly fresh. The fried rice is ON POINT. Whatever sauce they put on the food is delicious. Wait: Weekday dinner time wasn't bad, we were seated right away. Saturday night was a 30 minute wait, but the bar was open so it's all good. Price and Song: It's pricey for hibachi, but worth it here and there, especially for a birthday. They turn off lights and disco ball a birthday song in Chinese and give the bday person a hat. It's cute. I definitely recommend coming here for their hibachi. Great service, great restaurant.

I love habatchi! I can't stand this place! When moving here, this got recommended as the best habatchi in town. So sad i have to live without habatchi in the future, because I will never go back here. It stinks already when coming in, they desperately need to install better vents. The food was not worth the money. One of the steaks was rear, almost cold, even though it was ordered medium-rare. The sauces that came with it were inedible. The grills looked very old and impossible to clean. As with many habatchi places, people come to celebrate birthdays here. We had 3 while being there and each time they started this really disturbingly annoying light show and overpowering loud music. Not what I was looking for while having a dinner with my husband.

Good overall experience. Had the filet and lobster hibachi and other than one piece of lobster having 2 tiny little pieces of shell still on it the food was really good. Returned 2 nights later and had some sushi at the bar, pretty good as well.

Out here on business, and I really didn't feel like the standard American faire that was around here. Bars, chain restaurants, wings....Cafe Indigo! Oh...they're not open on Mondays or Tuesdays. Well, the only other place is Osaka, let's try it out. I want some fish anyway--even though it's probably very risky for me to be eating raw fish in land-locked Iowa. It's very dark in here. Took a look at the menu, sat at a normal table. Not here for the hibachi, just want some sushi. It's really...depressing feeling in here. Oh well, that's ok. Got my menu, chose what I wanted (sushi deluxe) and asked if I could substitute the tuna roll for a yellowtail roll. Sure, no problem, might be .50 or $1 more--sounds reasonable. Got my tea...something about this tea...is familiar...yet....not....too dark to see if it has matcha powder in it. Miso soup was average. It's the standard litmus test for Japanese places. The miso did not seem boiled, so that's good. The salad dressing was way too sweet, blegh. Got my entree on a massive plate--this is way more than I was expecting for $16. Presentation was just average. The pieces were uniformly thick (good that they were thick, but experienced sushi/sashimi eaters know that not all fish should be cut the same thickness) with pretty sizable rice balls under. All the pieces were just average tasting, and some had the distinct flavor of having been frozen and thawed. This tea...what is it....that's so familiar..... Then I hear it--the waitstaff and sushi bar chefs are speaking...Chinese. Mandarin. Then, a song comes up over the speakers--it's in Mandarin. It clicks in my brain. This tea tastes like the green tea I buy in Chinatown. This is a typical Chinese-run Japanese restaurant--everything is average, lacking in execution, but making up in value and quantity. Not to say that this is bad by any means, and you must remember that I have been spoiled by the best Japanese restaurant in Chicago (Kurumaya, look it up). For this area, probably this is as good as it gets, but there's no way I can rate this more than 2 stars. Cafe Indigo, I wish you were open.

The sushi was delicious! They make their rolls bigger than other sushi restaurants. The chefs take a little extra time to personalize the plates too :-) We went at 5:45 last night and it wasn't too busy but by the time we left it was. It was quiet on the sushi side and the staff were very nice. When you spend $50 in sushi you get a specialty roll free...it's a lot but I took home basically a specialty roll and a small roll :-) Will definitely go back!!

a Sad place for sushi in Davenport. Save your money or risk getting SICK! Sushi chef has audible chronic cough and is heard coughing approximately every 30 seconds - while he prepares your sushi. Gross! Asked server to make the tuna roll that comes with the Deluxe Sushi platter, a spicy tuna. She said it would be $2 extra. WHAT? $2 for some spicy sauce? Really? What a typical japanese rip-off. Save your money. This place is NOT worth it!

Ordered chicken sticks...they were dried out and tasteless..shrimp in yakisoba was overcooked and tough. Pork katsu breading was thick and soggy and meat was tasteless and extremely chewy...simply horrible meals! Rice under katsu tasted strange.... Will not EVER go here again!

I'm not sushi fan, so I can't comment on sushi experiences or quality. We always go just for hibachi with the kids. They love it. It's great that the kids hibachi meals are often free during the week with an adult combo meal, and that the kids get their French fries to snack on during the show. I almost always get the filet as it is definitely wor the extra couple bucks over the regular steak! My husband loves the swordfish. All in all a bit pricey, but a lot of fun for a family and plenty of leftovers.

I will never return. The entire restaurant was filthy. The food looked bad and smelled worse. I did not eat it! One look at the Hibachi cart was all it took for me to see that anything would be better than eating here. There was rotten food and grease all over-- even the floor was slippery. I wish I could give 0 stars.

This place is a sushi/teppanyaki place. I sat at the grill, so my review does not include any sushi. So the heart of the matter is food. The fried rice was decent, though nothing spectacular. It wasn't dried out like a fast food chinese place, but that should be obvious for a real asian restaurant. The steak was a bit overdone and dry, and the chicken breast was tasteless. Both required liberal dipping in the provided sauces. The grilling show was quite spectacular with some smoke, flames, and humor. I wonder what would have happened had there not been a full table to start cooking. Would they have had us waiting until more people arrived? Or would they serve us with only half a table... I wonder...

Excellent lunch specials consisting of two or three rolls with miso soup and salad with a very tasty ginger dressing. Other lunch specials from the hibachi are also good. I particularly like the vegetables. The rice was flavorful but the steak was stringy. Other rolls I enjoy are the Victoria (lobster, apple, wrapped in soy paper) and Red Osaka roll (shrimp tempura, baked). The bento box is good, too. I haven't sat on the hibachi side yet, as I have only patronized Osaka for lunch. An asset to the Bettendorf area.

Whoever had the terrible review of this place, I guess you just came on a REALLY bad day. I just went 2 days ago for my birthday and it's a great place. I usually go for hibachi but decided to sit near the sushi bar instead this time and got a great bento box, authentic tasting harumaki and really, really good sushi (which I've had a lot of, in a lot of places). We had one mistake in the order due to the waiter's english not being the best but he was great about fixing it. Everyone is very friendly and the food is always great.

The sushi is always fresh. Prices are decent. Eating in the Teppanyaki grill area gives you a nice show with your meal. Expect to pay around $25 when eating in the grill area. The food here is also fresh. I would recommend the filet mignon as a meat selection. It is slightly more but your already paying a fair price for the meal, and when cooked it is very tender and flavorful. I've let several people try it in the past when I've got it and almost every single one wishes they would have gotten it instead. In reality, it is difficult to make a wrong decision, as all of the meat selections are tasty. If you are looking to eat healthy, I'd head directly to the sushi bar though, as butter and salt are used to their full potential in the grill area. A very good place to go if you have a large group.
