This place has the best Mexican food in the Quad Cities. The enchiladas, tostadas, fajitas, chips & salsa are all very good!

We have eaten here before and enjoyed their vegetarian options. Tonight, with family we ordered the fajita taco salad and some tacos. The fajita taco salad was ordered vegetarian, but I found several pieces of beef as I ate the meal. I enjoyed the s as lad until that point. Vegetarians beware. Good food but they are not careful about separating their vegetables from meats.

Outside seating during the summer was nice, service was good, margaritas were big. The usual chips/salsa on the table while waiting for food. Steak quesadillas and fajitas were good especially for the price. Will probably be my go-to mexican restaurant

It's 9:16. Just tried eating here, but staff inside the door said, "We're closed. Sorry." No explanation, no nothing. She just stood there and shrugged. The sign on the door clearly says 10:00. Staff wasn't helpful, sign wasn't accurate...crossing this place off my list.

Went here for lunch today and both the food as well as service were good. The portion size is generous. I ordered chicken enchilada and tostadas. Both were pretty good. Salsa was also flavorful. The only issue is the ambience. It's pretty dull. Loved the food though. Will definitely return.

I think they have the best Mexican food in the QCA. I'm especially fond of their fish entrees. Portions are HUGE, if a bit pricey. I don't drink margaritas, so I can't comment on them. They do have a passable beer selection, with a couple of Mexican beers.

Los agaves has come a long way with its food the past few years. I'm pleased to say they no longer pour cheese sauce all over everything. Instead they make fresh, colorful, and tasty food. They have cheap beer and friendly staff.

I love this place! My favorite Mexican place in the QC. The food is delicious, I love the barbacoa enchiladas and the spicy salsa, my mom loves the seafood quesadilla. I've always had great service and I really like the atmosphere. This is the kind of place you can get dressed up for date night or take your family to.

Best Mexican in the area! Get a michelada and the carnitas! Amazing. Great service too. Also love the chicken and mushroom quesadilla. Best food for the price. You can't go wrong.

Two stars is probably one too many for Mexican food that was just not very good. We ordered the Mexican enchiladas and corn tortillas. The chips and salsa were good - but is that really enough to get 2-stars? There are plenty of better places to eat Mexican food, and that is where you will find me in the future.

This used to be a decent restaurant but went downhill quickly with their food and service. I ate there for lunch today and the chicken was SO salty that I couldn't eat more than two bites. The waitress asked how my food was and I said it was so salty that I couldn't eat it, she said "sorry" and walked away. The manager came over later and I explained to him that it was too salty and he offered to make something else for me. Nice but I know what happens when people complain, I won't eat that! Lastly, got home and had major stomach cramps. Not sure what they put in their food but I don't recommend eating there ever.

This is one of our favorite local Mexican restaurants. We like the atmosphere, the service is consistently very good, the wait is rarely long, the food is always good and margaritas are excellent.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
