Great selection. Decent prices. Nice feel. Great cafe with affordable fresh juice. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a health food store in Davenport, IA. But when I'm on the road I like to check out the local natural food spot because it they smell good and it makes feel at home. There is usually a feeling of community and consciousness which gives me a sense of what's going on in the town. Greatest Grains definitely has that feel and smell. I overheard locals running into each other and squealing with glee. There are nice cactus plants in the window and great big wood booths. I had a salmon patty and a fresh juice. Both were fantastic. There were lots of vegan and grain-free options. I picked up some "white rabbit" salad for later (cottage cheese, chia, fruits, seeds and honey) and a few supplements. Great selection of Kombucha and bulk items. The produce section isn't too big but it has all the basics. The couple of customer service interactions I had were decent though the check out clerk was painfully awkward and made me feel weird for not bringing a bag. She is probably just like that though. Some people had hard childhoods.

Greatest Grains is a great(est) health market. The staff are friendly and informative and the bulk prices tend to be cheaper than other places. The selection of bulk tea is unparalleled. I enjoy working in the dining area. It's quiet and relaxing. The coffee is underrated and they always have interesting samples to try. The only caveat is that the WIFI can be slow and inconsistent.

Their supplement staff is extremely knowledgeable and can answer most of your questions, or will go out of their way to help you find the answer. I am also starting to see a lot of better products from the west coast popping up here so that's a great thing for this store! And 9 out 10 times if they don't have something they will order it for you!

As a frequent visitor to all QC health stores, Greatest Grains has the best choice in variety of health foods. If they don't have something, they are usually happy to order it for you. Their supplement staff is extremely knowledgeable and can answer most of your questions, or will go out of their way to help you find the answer. When it comes to price, Hy-Vee usually beats out Greatest Grains if they stock the same items. But Greatest grains often has items that can't be found anywhere else. The produce is local when at all possible, but often wilty. Organic produce is hard to sell because of its price, so this can be understandable. Their Deli food is hit and miss- if it's fresh it's good, but often its been out for a day or so, and for the price, is lacking. The stuff they prepackage is always good though. This place has its ups and downs, but all in all is pretty good. The have a VAST variety in inventory- comparable to other similar stores that are even out of the area.

Greatest Grains is a small, cramped grocery store that specializes in health-food products, including a wide selection of organic foods. They also have a decent selection of inexpensive prepared foods like sandwiches, wraps, soups, and salads.

Eclectic health food store with dining area for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great selection of hard-to-find organic, chemical-free, non-GMO foods, dietary items, body care, and general household items. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I've been going here for years, and it's nice to be recognized as a frequent shopper. Greatest Grains existed before the Whole Foods/Trader Joe's hype - happy to have more trailblazers in the Quad Cities!

Great place with a great vibe. I've been a customer of GG's for 30 years. Due to its proximity to my home and work I can only grab lunch there when I can. They've got a grocery and extensive health products. Great baked goods, baked in-house.

Totally a great place to get a quick bit or items for a special dinner. I grew up in the QC and still go back to Greatest Grains when I visit! The baked goods and all the deli items are yum!

While not being fooled by Hy-Vee's health market, I find things in both places that I buy. If you find brands or products you like in Hy-Vee's Health Market, it is worth a trip here to find a wider variety of those brands or products. For instance I love Yogi Tea, and only at Greatest Grains can I find Mexican Sweet Chili. Greatest Grains IS generally more expensive unless you find things on sale. Don't go looking for a selection of pita bread here though. All they had last time I checked was some janky frozen stuff. They do have raw honey, a peanut grinding machine for fresh peanut butter, and plenty of bulk grains and snacks. Their dining is actually really good as well. They have a deli counter with a large selection of dishes for vegetarians and omnivores. There is always delicious food there even though it is mostly cold dishes that are reheated if needed. The seating area is bright with old wooden booths and tables surrounded by a lot of pleasant house plants. Greatest Grains is always a nice place to stop by.

A bit pricey but a very good place to find alternative medicines and/or organic foods.

As far as the Quad Cities area goes Greatest Grains is the best Health Food/Alternative Medicine store there is and it does have a great selection of what one would expect them to, the prices are competitive though obviously are higher than a discount supermarket because you do get what you pay for. The one thing that I can add that is not in previous reviews is if you go here bring along bags because they have taken the Aldi approach when it comes to bags.

I don't care for their bread, it always taste dry & stale especially the wheat bread. It also gets moldy in a few days if you leave it on your kitchen countertop so keep it refridgerated, but it stil taste heavy & dry. I just don't buy their bakery bread anymore that's all. Some of their hot food taste bland. However, I like this place better than heritage in Moline, where they have just young girls working there that don't know anything.
