Have always enjoyed it here. Beer is great. Their stout is yummy. Sad to see with their new menu that the turkey sandwich is no longer available. Def one of the few good non-chains in the QCA.

Excellent food and atmosphere! I had the coconut chicken salad and a s'mores stout. The salad was large and flavorful. The stout was decadent and yummy. We sat at the bar and Sean, the bartender, was attentive and funny. Jen, the GM, came and chatted with us for quite awhile. All in all a terrific dining experience.

The waitstaff we experienced were very friendly and very accommodating toward the dog (we sat on the patio) but the beers and the food left us both sad about our choice for the evening. I had a 4-taste flight with the apricot, cherry, vanilla porter, and raging river and only the raging river made me want a full pint (which I didn't get). We shared a pretzel for an appetizer and I'm sorry to say it was a super pretzel-style that was almost surely heated in a microwave - definitely not something I would recommend. I had the coconut chicken salad which was even more disappointing. The bacon mac and cheese was fairly garlicy, which helped kick it up a notch but it was still nothing to write home about. Overall a seriously underwhelming brewery experience.

Really excellent. I ate the special, an Iowa hog burger, which was truly phenomenal. My wife had the duck tacos and loved them. Kid meals were also quite good, made with real food and generously portioned. Beer was good but not spectacular. Definitely a great place for families, though I suggest a reservation, since it fills up fast and there's not much waiting room. Service was attentive and highly competent, but not speedy, so plan on taking your time. I will be back.

Typical problem - good food, poor service or vice versa. Loved my steak salad but server was inattentive.

Thanks for introducing me to Boetje's mustard! I was in town for a few days and ate/ drank here twice. The food was unexpectedly really good. They had a special beer on tap called the Downtown Brown...... Two thumbs up! I drank it both times and I heart it. My second trip I had the fish tacos and I was not expecting to be impressed (I'm from the pacific NW... We do fish tacos better than anyone) but by golly, they were very, very good! I would, hands down, suggest this place to anyone traveling through. They get the fifth star because they opened their downstairs just so we could have a table. The waitress AND bartender both came down and took care of us. They didn't have to do this, but offered it and made sure to keep the drinks and good flowing down there. Their hospitality is 5 star.

I had a Raging River Ale and Hefe Weiss with my fish taco. All were very good .

With a location right on the Mississippi, Front Street Brewery is Davenport's de facto brewpub. The menu is wide though they clearly make an effort to provide a decent dining experience. The fish tacos were clunky - large flour tortillas overstuffed with decently-seared tuna, a bunch of cabbage, and too much chipotle ranch, but what they lacked in finesse they made up for in heartiness. Much of the beer wasn't to my taste - from the weak cherry and peach-flavored beers, to the lack of nose in the IPAs, but the Raging River and Hefeweizen weren't too bad, I guess. They cooked some mean brussel sprouts, though, for which I was much appreciative. There's clearly a lot of effort put into FSB, and while I wasn't completely blown away, it was good enough for a return visit. Certainly among the better brewpubs the Quad Cities has to offer, if only because I assume there's not many of them in the area.

Lunch here today. Limited excellent menu. Bacon and eggs a surprisingly tasty appetizers. Salmon BLT cooked very well. Cheddar ale soup and salad large portions. We did not have beer and we're pleased with the other wine and liquor selections.

  • Larry H.

Food is better than average for a brew pub. The beers were good and there's a good selection for such a small operation.

Just had the Korean Chicken Sandwich. Absolutely amazing! My mom had the Pretzel Crusted Pork. They use all local ingredients. They even have their buns made in house. Can't say enough good!

This is a great place to get a bite to eat. I had the bacon mac & cheese for lunch and the cajun burger for dinner. Their beers are great and all the food looked awesome.

  • Rebecca W.

Amazing food, great service. It can be a little pricey but it tastes high dollar. When we went I was in the mood for a good burger and it was probably the best burger I've ever had. My boyfriend got their Reuben and he said the same thing. Not too crazy about their BBQ sauce (I use for fries), but everything else I've had is awesome! He also got the flight and loved each beer for its unique qualities.

  • Eric K.

Went there for a work-related lunch meeting. Very difficult to choose because the menu used much tantalizing wordplay for each dish. I went with the Duck Confit Tacos. All the ingredients were very fresh and much love was given in the details. The tacos took me to the 'Street Tacos' you would find in major city taco trucks. I was quite pleased, as were the others I was dining with, and cannot wait to make it to that neighborhood again for another try!

Excellent food, beer and service. With it's location right next to the Mississippi River, it was an easy find with accessible parking. But the food - woah! We were highly impressed with the pretzel and poutine appetizers as well as the Carolina pork sandwich. The homemade BBQ sauce is to die for. As for beer, the Brewmaster Special and Vanilla Porter are where its at. The Front Street Brewing Company is a must try while in Davenpot , IA.

I had the pork tenderloin sandwich. It's amazing. It made my tears of enjoyment turn to bacon.

Food is ok. Good selection. Typical pub food. We came around 5:30 on Wed and there was no wait. Beer is d cent. Tried their Hefe Weizen but didn't really like it. Ok for a quick bite.

First time here and would definitely be a regular if I lived closer! Was in town for work and stopped in on a Fri evening. Place was quite busy and sat at the bar. Had fantastic service and the food was incredible. Had the mahi mahi fish tacos and the IPA. Truly one of the best IPA's I've ever had anywhere! Highly recommend this place and will make it a regular stop when I'm in town.

Loved The Poutine, the pretzel crusted tenderloin and salmon BLT...and side salad w garlic balsamic. All were fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly, thumbs up! The Raging River was Very hoppy. Really enjoyed the Cherry Ale & Hefe weizen :)

Went here on a trip back home back from Yellowstone park as stayed the night as halfway point. Hotel recommended since was a local brewery and that is what we were looking for. Place was a little hard to get to at no fault of there own for it was right on the flooding river and the main road was shut down. Had the turkey burger on a pretzel roll and that was amazing. Try it with just about any of there beers for everyone around the table all tries their local brews and enjoyed immensely, me I can speak for the pale ale awesome! Good atmosphere and great service. If am ever passing through again will stop in for a beer and would recommend the same.

Awesome BBQ pulled pork sandwich and cold beer. Excellent cole slaw too! Really enjoyed hanging out in the bier garden on a Sunday afternoon!

Front Street Brewery is a brewpub restaurant in Davenport, Iowa, just over from the Mississippi River. Appropriately it is located in a century-old former beer warehouse. Many of the wood and glass features from that era remain to add to the ambiance. You can see part of the Mississippi River from here, about a block away, from the font seating area of the restaurant. There is also an outdoor patio seating at the rear of the restaurant. It was a cozy atmosphere with both visitors like us and locals. (The table next to us was going to a jazz festival performance after dinner.) Other visitors were quizzing the waitress on the meaning of Hawkeye as a nickname for Iowans. No one reached a conclusion. Burger time, especially as we were entering beef country. I ordered the Cajun Burger with pepperjack cheese and jalapeños together with a House Salad to start. Our daughter selected the Smoked Out Bacon Cheddar Burger and my wife the Mahi-Mahi Sandwich. I liked my cheeseburger and found it had a good bite to it! Our daughter ventured a Cherry Ale, which seemed to be the locals' favorite. It even had a cherry at the bottom.

Ok at best. I was there before the dinner rush, so it wasn't busy. Still it took probably 8-10 minutes before my server stopped by my table. I ordered the herb roasted chicken. I didn't taste the herbs, but I did taste pretty heavy lime and garlic. It actually maybe should be called garlic roasted chicken. Nice, big portion, but I wasn't tempted to eat all of it bc it just wasn't that good. Aside from the flavor, the near was also on the dry side. I am obviously in the minority here...the place got packed with a dinner crowd before I left. But I definitely would not recommend it.

If I could have all of their beers every week I'd probably be classified as an alcoholic. That being said, my favorites are their IPA and Raging River Ale, so once or twice a week will do. My favorite QCA brewery by far!

This place is what a brew pub in today's day and age should be. It's no longer acceptable to just have good beer, you gotta have the grub to go with it. I noticed this place had 4 stars which isn't too shabby but i had to give 5 stars and the possible reason for the disparity is that they have a new cook. The food was awesome. They have your traditional pub food and also some fancy high end choices. What we had was delicious. The brew was also very good. I don't like IPA's, quite frankly i have no idea how they got so popular but let's not go down that bunny trail. I got a sampler which had two IPA's and I drank everything. All was very good. Don't miss this place. It is worth the stop!!!

I never thought I'd ever go to Davenport, but when booty calls.....you answer! Front Street provided a super casual lunch for my hungry tummy. It's nestled along the glamorous Mississippi River. Okay, I lied. It's not at all glamorous. But lunch was excellent. I spied the bacon mac & cheese. While my companion selected a burger. Our beers were damn good, too! Lunch + 4 beers = $30. I'd totally come back here.

    (4)
  • Sarah M.

The food was great. The service was not. Our waiter was downright rude and sarcastic. He'd come up and stand next to our table and stare at us until we'd ask to take our plates away. No bud, I'm not awkward. I just don't like you. Aside from my first dinner date in junior high, I've never had such an uncomfortable dining experience in a restaurant.

  • Lyndsay L.

The pork nachos are heaven on a plate. BBQ sauce on nachos, what?! But it is goood. Beers are not the best in the QC, not the worst. Raging River pale is their best. Very small seating area...if you go on a Friday/Saturday night, you may very well not get seated. Outdoor seating available. Parking is scant...best to park across the street.

    (4)
  • Jill E.

The only good thing about this place was the service! The BBQ nachos were decent but we asked for sour cream on the side and that did not happen. The food comes and it was TERRIBLE! One person ordered an egg on his burger and they didn't put it on there, I ordered the tenderloin which would have been good but they put mushrooms on it and when we asked the waiter he said that was not right. They did take that off the bill. The Ruben says pumpernickel bread which it was on some kind of marbled bread, another person ordered the hot beef and t was just disgusting. It tastes very funny so it didn't even get eaten. I will never go back or recommend.

Fantastic food, huge selection of gluten-free menu items, and vegetarians and carnivores alike will be satisfied. Nice wine list. Had the Red Grouper with dirty rice and asparagus. It was perfect. Will definitely return!

Awesome food and equally amazing beer. Honestly can't think of any negative side to this place. Love it!

  • Thomas C.

The beers were really good, and a couple (vanilla porter and davenport gold) were excellent. The food was standard pub fare - nothing special, but certainly good. 3 stars for environment. Felt like a college bar, which is fine, but even though I was the first one in, my table had napkins, stir sticks, chips and a bun half under it.

    (3)
  • Chip C.

First time, great time! Pale Ale was great. mussels best I've had, savory with a nice amount of heat from peppers. Raging River Chicken was great. Fabulous service and a relaxed vibe that had all customers at the bar talking like they were old friends. Davenports Cheers!

  • Alice S.

Probably won't go to this place again. We went there because there was a big write up on how wonderful their fish tacos were 'best in the qc'. We thought they were AWFUL! No flavor at all. The pork nachos were good but the service was so slow we're just not interested in going again.

  • Kathy P.

Good beer nice atmosphere. Waitress was friendly. Pretzels are a nice appetizer. I had the beer cheese soup which was tasty but thick. I would not recommend the Reuben - corned beef was thick and tough. My son had the Italian beef which he said was average. My daughter likes the Mac and cheese. The veggie wrap was messy but good. Overall I would say there are better places to eat like barrel house or bent river.

Good beer, good food, good service. It's the trifecta!

  • Tammy H.

Nice little brewpub on the river front. All open seating, we didn't have to wait for a table, however they were very busy for a Tuesday night. They have a full bar, but the only beers offered were those brewed in house. We started with a round of beers and warm pretzels, the pretzels were nothing exciting (probably previously frozen), but came out nice and toasty and paired well with our beers. For dinner I had the duck taco, I really think they need to fix this dish or take it off the menu. It came with three corn tortilla tacos with duck, lettuce and a side of Pico de gallo "salsa". The duck meat was dry and looked like it had been sitting out for some time. The salsa tasted awful with the duck, just doesn't pair well, maybe an aoili would be better. Beer was ok, food was meh, the only reason they are getting a favorable rating from me is because the service was excellent. Jessica rocks!

  • Jason H.

When I have friends in town, I always suggest Front Street. They have the best fish tacos in the Quad Cities! (Though, as an update, the last time I had the fish tacos they weren't as good. Not sure if that was a one-time thing or not...) Their burgers are great. Enjoy their beers, especiaily the Cherry Ale. A nice, relaxed atmosphere.

  • Lauren W.

I love their tasting room in the Freight House. We grabbed some pitchers of their IPA and watched River Roots from the upper balcony this year. Just a real nice little evening. Great beer. Their restaurant also has fantastic food.

  • Nick B.

Love the pulled pork nachos and fish tacos. Not much of a beer drinker myself. Booze selection is good too. Nice outdoor beer garden and the have a good sized room downstairs for party's.

Love going here for group outings. The outside patio is so nice. Beer is awesome and food is amazing.

This place is really friendly and the food was pretty good. Coming from L.A. and finding a nice and friendly restaurant/bar was a pleasant surprise. Kudos to the staff and to the friendly people of Davenport!!!

  • Ryan V.

I've been here several times over the past year... Mostly for lunch. Their food is really good for a pub style restaurant. The Worcestershire burger is amazing!! Actually haven't had anything yet that was less than good here. Today I had the Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich... Yummy!

    (4)
  • Samantha L.

I wasn't very hungry when I got there, just hungry (thirsty) for drinks.... Got the house salad with salmon (I know, a simple dish but delicious). I loved the thick shaved parmesan cheese on top of the salad and the salmon was cooked perfectly! The garlic balsamic vinaigrette dressing was a a nice combination with the salad and came on the side which was perfect for me so I could decide for myself how much dressing I wanted to add on my salad. Overall I was satisfied! Will go back!

  • Allen W.

Food and beers are excellent. Local atmosphere and great staff. The seasonal selections from their beer have always been well done. Great place to eat a meal and relax. Ryan did a great job helping me make beer and food selections.

I moved here from Chicago and have had a hard time finding local restaurants that have impressed me. If one more quad city native tells me to go to Texas roadhouse I'm gonna lose it. Anyways, I love the ambiance of FS, inside and out (nice patio). The food is great, I love the steak sandwich and fish tacos. I also took my 2yr old and they have a great kids menu and she loved the cheeseburger and steak fries. A different visit I went with a friend and we got the beer sampler which was awesome and reasonably priced. Service has been great both times and the bartender that was there both times was super friendly and waved to my daughter on our way out. My only complaint is that at some point they must have been cleaning or emptying something before close and it smelled so bad we had to vacate and finish our drinks on the patio. It was getting pretty late so I'll give them a pass haha.

Great food and a nice atmosphere. The porn nachos are awesome! Somewhat noisy but it's a great place for groups of people. Overall, this place is clean and the food is good.

  • Lianne N.

Good beer-- I tried the Stout and the Hefe Weisen. The stout was very smooth and had a coffee taste to it. The Hefe Weisen was good too... very light and somewhat citrusy. Good soup-- could've been hotter, but it had a nice flavor. Good sausage-- it reminded me of sausages I had in Germany. Appetizing menu. Nice waiter. SLOOOOOW service though... poor guy had to handle all of the tables in the basement. And on that note, I do not recommend letting them seat you in the basement-- it was like being in the basement of a pizza parlor. You lose ALL the ambiance of the pub-like feeling of the main part of the restaurant. The only way I'd sit in the basement again is if I was with a party-- it's a good room for a big group to gather in. The main part of the restaurant had some interesting character, but it was crowded. This is definitely not the place for a romantic or quiet evening. The location is perfect if you are going to the Adler Theater or you are staying at the Radisson. There is a parking garage nearby, as well as a lot across the street.

Nice selection of beers, attentive service and good food. Mahi fish tacos were very good and recommended.

  • Dennis R.

Nothing wrong with good service, good pub food and and good craft beer. All on a day I had to go to the irs and be with other disgruntled people

  • Dana H.

Great first impression! Cajun burger might have well been called the jalapeño bacon burger but was delicious anyway! Great flavor, cooked perfectly and loaded with jalapeños. And I haven't event mentioned the hamburger bun. Slightly sweet and not your ordinary bun. I only gave 4 stars because the Cajun burger wasn't really Cajun to me. I'm in town for two weeks and will be back...probably a couple of times at least!!

    (4)
  • Scott S.

I've eaten here several more times since my initial review. I'm maintaining four stars, but will note that the kitchen can sometimes be uneven -- for example, the second time my wife ordered the curried chicken pita it was served to her with none of the curry spices that it was supposed to. The wing special is very good from 3 to 6 pm, half price. The sausage and cheese platter was okay but was overpriced for the quantity. The pulled pork nachos are quite good and can probably feed four, my wife and I got half way through them and were stuffed. The brewpub will be expanding in the next six months to the Freight House down the street to increase production capacity, so it should be an exciting time!

Wait was a bit long, but than again it's a pretty small place. While waiting I picked up their Centennial IPA and my girlfriend got the reliable Old Davenport Gold. She liked it and and had two that night. Mine on the other hand was not very good. It almost seemed dull, which was weird for an IPA. My friends had the Hefe-Weizen, Cherry Ale, and the Raging River and said were all great. I got the appetizer Poutine (first time ever) and it was fantastic. For my entrée I ordered the Reuben since the Italian Beef was out. Reuben was really good, probably Top 5 in my book, could of used a little more dressing if there's a complaint. My friend ordered her favorite Baked Mac and Cheese and that like my Italian Beef was out. She instead got a Cheeseburger which I was told was very good. My other friend ordered a half order of the BBQ Pork Nachos and those were excellent. It's also pretty good size as he couldn't even finish it with help. I also ordered some Sweet Potato Fries which were great as well. All in All it was a great place for beer and an even more impressive dining experience!

  • Patrick B.

Just a great place. Saturday night and very busy. Still got great service and food. I definitely will be back. Lots to chose on the menu, both beer and food. A must stop when coming thru.

  • Dan E.

I was a little adventurous and travelled across the river from my hotel in search of the perfect beer. Unfortunately, they were in the process of moving their brewing operations down the street so the only one of their beers they had available was the Old Davenport Gold, a decent light beer. The food is actually very good and a great accompaniment to the beer. The gaucho steak sandwich with mushrooms, provolone cheese and chimichurri sauce is a winner. The crab cake, although a little pricey for a single cake, was phenomenal. The clientele seemed like a lot of groups and families.

  • Brian H.

Excellent beers, food, and service. I'm not sure what's with the bad reviews. We elected to sit outside on a pleasant late June Saturday evening because the inside was busy and noisy. I had the Raging River Ale first and the Cherry Ale next and both were unique and delicious. The Cherry Ale was refreshing and had a perfect note of maraschino cherry - not overpowering and didn't taste like a fruit beer. We started with the spinach artichoke dip. The toast was perfectly crunchy and the dip was smooth and full of spinach and artichoke chunks. It was a tad salty, but nothing the good beers couldn't cure. Next, I had the Mahi-Mahi sandwich. It's not easy cooking fish to a perfectly tender and flaky consistency in a gastro-pub setting, but Front Street nailed it. The sauce was fantastic and wouldn't have minded having a little extra on the side. I think the ciabatta might not be the right choice of bread for the sandwich, but it was very good. I will definitely make it a point to return to Front Street. I had a great time there. My company couldn't have been better either. ;)

A great outdoor patio for summer dining (and drinking). The food here is 4 star food and maybe even 5, the beer ranges from 3 to 4 stars (the vanilla porter, cherry stout and other specialties are great, but the old gold is too bland for a microbrewery. You're just as well off spending $2 less on a budweiser for the quality) It's got a great view of the river if you can get one of the 3 or 4 seats in the very front of the place and is within walking distance to many hotels and other drinking and eating establishments in downtown Davenport. If you want a good example of what quad city life is like, stop by on a Friday afternoon at about 5 PM. You'll see trains, barges and all numbers of interesting locals enjoying the best of what we have to offer.

Just moved to the area and been here twice now, and both times the food and service were really really good. The first time I had the open-faced turkey sandwich and my husband some sort of turkey club whose name escapes me. Both were excellent. My sandwich and mashed potatoes were really hot, flavorful, and well-prepared. My husband's sandwich was delicious too. Most recently we had fish tacos and the carolina bbq sandwich. My husband loved the tacos- he says he never orders them anywhere because they tend to be soggy and drippy, but these were perfect. My sandwich was also good. Now, I should say, we just moved here from Eastern NC and Carolina bbq this ain't (there was a moisture factor lacking here and all the flavor came from the sauce rather than the actual bbq), but it was delicious nonetheless. The beer is good as well. Across the board I'd say I'd prefer Great River or Bent River, but Front Street's cherry and apricot ales are really unique and delicious. Overall, I highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

This is a great place. I like beer and this place is spot on. They don't get adventurous with their beer styles but each one is a good version. I can get good beer at a few closer places than this one but what I make the trip for is the food. I had some honey sesame wings that were perfectly crispy on the outside and still moist and meaty on the inside. The half order of BBQ pork nachos was huge. I don't know if they pickle their own jalapeños but the ones they use are better than others I've had. if you like just a couple snacks to enjoy with your beer look at the sides on the menu. Garli brussel sprouts, beer cheese soup, sweet potato fries all good. The two bartenders I've had there are very accommodating and suggested which beers I should drink next. I recommend this place to anyone.

One of my favorite places to bike to and stop at! Great beer and I love to take my relocation clients to because they always have good service.. I recommend mac n cheese, fish tacos, and burgers. You Cant go wrong! ( MUST try the seasonal apricot beer when available!)

So I went here last week with a couple of girlfriends. I had yet to try this place even though I've been here a year. Full disclosure - I don't drink beer so my review will be only based on service and food. I ordered the special - it was an smallish piece of Salmon with asparagus. It was billed as having a horseradish sauce for the salmon. What I received was covered in horseradish. That's OK by me as I like it, but it could be off putting for some. The fish was cooked perfectly, if I had to rate just on that meal I'd have given this place three stars.... But - my soup that came with my entree was dreadful. It was a broccoli cheese soup. Now when you think of this soup don't you think of smooth, creamy soup? Well what I was given was gritty. It was thick and I'm no cook, but my frequent food network viewings tells me one of two things happened: Either they used a cheese that wasn't a good melting cheese or they curdled the melted cheese/milk. It was flat out disguising. You could see the grit in each spoonful. I couldn't send it back as one of the girls at the table was chowing down on it like it was going out of style. WTF? Seriously - I just pushed the practically full cup to the side and prayed that my entree would be better. Luckily it was - see above. The service was mediocre at best. At one point I had an empty glass of water and girlfriend sitting next to me had a 3/4 empty glass of water. The waitress proceeds to bring us ONE new glass and then puts it in between us. She walked away and I joked that we'd have to cage match to see who got the full glass. The waitress heard us and said she'd bring back another refill - which she did probably 10 minutes later. The service was also slow, but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a deal breaker. I'm struggling to find a positive here - I guess the special of the night was tasty and well cooked. That's all I've got folks.

Front street is a good choice for small gatherings because of the small room downstairs. Ask for information if you would like to hold a business or professional meeting. When the Quad Cities had an ASM chapter this was a very cost conscious option for meeting space and good beer. Nice warm pretzel is a great accompaniment to a Cherry Ale or Raging River Ale. But the real standout here is the Vanilla Porter which isn't brewed very often. This bar would actually benefit from a twitter feed so the local fans know what the brewmasters special is on a given week? All in all, excellent beer at a very affordable price especially coming from a Chicagoan who knows about overpriced, mediocre pubs. Consider holding your next small gathering here. Good close proximity to the Davenport hotels and restaurants if you are looking to plan a wedding or other occasion.

Went here before the Ron White concert. Food was ok, but they ran out of many items even though it was early. Sat at the bar.

Front Street is one of the first places I take people when they visit me in the QCA. They are hands down my favorite brew pub in the area-- best beer, and the food is fantastic. And they always seem to have the nicest wait staff in the area too. It does get busy pretty quickly around dinner, but as long as you're patient, it's always worth the wait.

I would used to poo poo the food at Front street, but since I have been gone (don't ask where, that's my business) they have made advances. The void in my heart has now been filled with pulled pork nachos (partly with cholesterol and mostly with love). They also now boast a fine selection of burgers. The beers are average. Not one smacks me in the face with flavor. But not a one is undrinkable. The only one that screams over acting is the cherry. Yes I get it. Its cherry flavored, and you put a cherry in it.

Less than expected from Front Street on our first visit. Stopped in to try some house brew and a couple menu items. To start, one of their six brews were already tapped. The remaining few were decent, but nothing spectacular. Their Cherry Ale could've done without the syrupy candied cherry floating around in the bottom of the pint glass... The Three Duck Ale (or whatever the special was) waspalatable and worth a second glass. We ordered the Cheese and Fruit plate... which was a disaster. Deli sliced cheddar, swiss, and smoked cheddar cheeses (I'm guessing Sargento) cut into halves and served with some grapes and cut cantaloupe. It all seemed very reminiscent of the Jewel-Osco produce department, but that's just me. Obviously store bought, pre-made, and neatly placed onto a dish. The Portabello Sandwich was much better, which isn't saying a whole lot. Slightly undercooked and watery portabello mushroom, paired with nicely seasoned sauteed spinach, artichoke, and a side of grilled asparagus. Not an utter failure, but still plenty of room for improvement. Staff was very helpful and polite throughout, and the food and drinks came out at a fairly reasonable pace. Prices seemed reasonable, and happy hour during the week will net you $3 pints. Still, I would be hard pressed to stop into Front Street again on a weekend after our last drink and food service.

Wow.....I think this is the worst I've had. I was going to a show at 7:30 , ordered food at 6:15, at 7:15 the food came, one person didn't even get there food. I was with a group of 9 and the waitress was really slow, and very rude. I was only served one cocktail the whole hour and a half I was there. I decided to try to go to the bar to get a drink, i waited for 15 minutes and walked away with no drink. I may have waited longer if the bartender would have at least look at me. But he was avoided eye contact. Too bad for them, I am a spender and i big tipper. i will not be back

On a weekend away trip - starving - stopped in for a beer and dinner. We had an amazing dinner of beer mussels, a burger with Maytag blue cheese and a salmon BLT - yummy! My only other comment would be the odd lack of music coupled with the bright lighting. The brussels sprouts offered as a side were unique and good enough to ask for the recipe.

So I ate and drank here a few times since my original review. Everything is much improved! The beer is still very good and the food has been great every time. Try the pulled pork nachos, you won't regret it!

Just along the river front on the Mississippi, the Front Street Brewery is serving up some good local brews and food. The venue is an open, high exposed ceilings and exposed brick walls. The Old Davenport Gold is an everyday light, drinkable beer. It is perfect for summer. They also have a good Hefeweizen. You are in Iowa, so it's a must to have a chop. The Iowa Pork Chop, a 12 oz. grilled pork chop served with red skin mashed potatoes, and drizzled with a maple-ale glaze, is excellent! The Carolina pulled pork sandwich was also tasty. They have growler options to take some brew home. Always a great option!

The Quad City region is blessed with great, independent breweries, creating multiple nectar's of life, BIER! Within a five mile radius, four independent micro breweries bless the area. Each has its own, distinctive flavor and character. The four independent breweries (NOT chain) in order of my preference are the Great Lake, Front City Brewery, Bent River, and Blue Cat. The cost of the bier was affordable, from $3.75 to $4.00 a pint! I do not know if the citizens of the Quad City realize the how fortunate they are to have so many great independent breweries. Front Street Brewery has good, tasty, flavorful, handcrafted bier, my IPA was excellent. Friendly atmosphere and décor, I will definitely return. A small kitchen serves food, but I only imbibed in the bier, so cannot comment on the taste. The bar/bier tender was a chiropractic student at the nearby Palmer School - his buddies were also at the brewery. Great folks to talk to and discuss the flavors of bier among other things. Located on the road, right across the river from Rock Island, IL, close by (within walking distance) of the casino, it may be a bit difficult to find, but it is well worth looking and finding.

Great little hang-out. Vanilla Porter and the Raging River Ale were excellent brews to accent the Portabella Burger. Lots of unique taste going on there. Great slaw as well. Stop in if your in the downtown Davenport area.

The IPA and Golden were unfiltered gems. Make a meal of them alone. Wings with Daytona sauce... very tasty and cooked perfectly. Fish tacos... nice fried then sliced fish and napa cabbage with some chipotle ranch. Flavorful and attractive. No complaints here. Nice patio out back, too.

Came here a couple times. The first was 8 months ago and I remember the food being alright. The pork nachos were really sweet and just ok. The burger was fine and average. The beers are alright as well, nothing fancy. There is a small reception room in the basement. Service was fine.

The food here is seriously mediocre. My side of Brussels sprouts came swimming in a half cup of butter. My husband ordered the Slow Roasted BBQ Pork Nachos. Pork is in the name of the dish, and unbelievably they charge you $3 for... pork! Not extra pork, any pork at all. And the beers appeal to the lowest common denominator.

It's a bit thorny to get to Front Street currently because of the construction, but don't let this deter you to quench your thirst. (Construction should be wrapped up by 1st snow fall.) Musts: - Raging River - Not as "hopsie" as ai tend to like, but refreshing nonetheless - Pan Seared Brussels Sprouts - Salty sweet goodness only a caramelized brussels sprout can provide! - Mustard Dips - Probably should order the pretzels to go with, but licking off your (or a neighbors) finger is just as good too! Borderline: - Pastrami & Swiss on Sourdough - Had higher hopes for the pastrami, because the waiter really talked it up. The sandwich's saving grace: It's preparation, condiments, and hand jarred pickles. Skip: - Cherry Ale Going to try next time: - The Sausage and Cheese Platter -

Have you ever had one of those meals where after every bite you were like "holy crap! you've gotta try this!" I had such an experience at the Front Street brewery last week. In town on a business trip and a coworker said this was a solid place with good beer and good food, man was her right! The atmosphere was clean and well done, very brewery-esque but nice. Good selection of local beers which is always a plus in my opinion. I ordered the Caribbean salmon and wow was it amazing! I usually don't order fish at a place like this but am I ever glad I did! It was blackened with a jerk seasoning and had some habenero pineapple salsa around the side with some really amazing rice, the rice was almost sweet, it was awesome! Everyone else at the table had a similar experience, everything seemed to be really amazing! We did try to come back a few days later but they were having some sort of event going on, a bunch of the tables were reserved so we didn't have a second chance to try this amazing food. Add this to the top of your "must try" places in the Quad Cities, awesome food!!

We just had a dinner party at the Brewery and everything was great! Jennie, the owner, was very accommodating in the planning for our special get together. We had steaks that were incredible. . We were in Beer Cellar and the service was great. I highly recommend Front Street Brewery for a private party.

First off I commend the place for even being open. The street in front of the business is closed due to high waters from the Mississippi River and if not for a sandbag wall the water would be at their doorstep. I was in town for a tournament and decided to stop by. The beers were decent. I had the Apricot Wheat and another which was an English Ale, both were good but didn't blow me away. The food was excellent however. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and was floored by the flavor. The meat was flavorful and juicy and I loved the Carolina style vinegar based sauce. The sandwich was topped with cole slaw which also amplified the flavor. Definitely a great sandwich. The combination of the food and their steadfast attitude to stay open even in the face of floods gives this place a 5 star rating.

I give this place 10 stars based on service alone. The bartender we had was probably the NICEST person we have ever met. We stopped at Front Street for fun, and when we told him we were from out of town, he suggested we visit other breweries in the area as well (his competitors). He even got us a map and drew us walking directions! The beer was good, and my french onion soup was very tasty. We will definitely be going back!

I have bowl of soup 2 beers, and fish tacos for $19. The soup made me sad because it reminded me of my mom. It was really good and tasted homemade. The fish tacos were excellent. Super crunchy and the sauce really complemented them. The only complain is the fish taco came with chips and salsa which I love, but the chips were pretty busted up in small pieces. The service was also excellent. I had a question on one of the beers and the owners wife( I think) called her husband at home to ask about the beer. The beer itself wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't that bad. I had the stout and cherry ale. If I'm in the area I will certainly visit again

Front Street is quite simply my favorite microbrewery. I love English Ales and their Raging River is the best I've had; hoppy and bitter. If you like that style you won't be disappointed. The menu is pretty well rounded, too; soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, etc. The FSB burger and sweet potato fries are hard to beat! It's a very nice atmosphere and the wait staff is friendly and accommodating. It can get pretty crowded on weekends. There is also a patio in back for summer dining and downing a couple ice cold pints.

Such good bar food!! I went here with a group and we all tried eachothers food. I got the chicken wings in their Stout BBQ sauce and I was nearly sucking the bones because the sauce was so delicious. Someone else got the BBQ pork Nachos, again, amazing. Huge plate of food and tons of flavor. And then I also tried the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich, the flavors in this were mouth watering and just perfect. Love this place. The menu isn't huge, but what they have has not disappointed.

Here's the opinion of someone who didn't have a drop of beer while in the establishment - it's pretty good! I was in town for business and happened upon the brewery after reading reviews online and was pleased with my meal. My co-worker and I shared the fried okra which was served with a delicious chipotle ranch dipping sauce. (although what fried thing dipped in ranch isn't delicious?) We both had sandwiches for dinner and were pretty happy with them. She liked her over-sized steak fries and I was happy to have the option to get a salad as a side. The place was pretty packed for a weeknight, and it seemed like a neat place to grab a beer or 5. (or in our case, sadly sip water while watching LeBron James crap on the city of Cleveland)

Don't get me wrong, the food is okay, but for the cost, I expect better. I've been here about five times and had take out twice. Food has been hit or miss. The troubling trend is the service. Went for lunch with a group from work and the service was horrendous. I understand there were ten of us but there was No OTHER CUSTOMERS in the restaurant . It took forever to get drinks and checks. She obviously knew we were on lunch and didn't have time to Diddy daddle around. Know your customer! To top it all off she charged a gratuity. Unbelievable.

I'm not a beer girl, but I tried the apricot ale and the cherry ale, and thought they were both good. Beer cheese soup was a little bland, but the fish tacos were tasty. My friend had a burger (which was good), but the sweet potato fries she ordered to accompany it were excellent. It looks like a dive from the outside but was very clean and welcoming on the inside.

A consistent & comfortable spot to get some of the best food in the Quad Cities. Always great beer, always great food with a variety of selections to please any palate. Try the steak salad, the pulled pork nachos & the fish tacos!

My friends and I have a tradition where we pick out brew pubs across this great nation of ours to visit on our way to road Michigan football games that we attend. This year we off to Iowa City for Michigan vs. Iowa, and our brewery of choice along the way was Front Street. By beer alone this place was top notch. I had several Hefe's and Raging River somethings that were tasty as can be. The happy hour prices were cheap for both the beer and the appetizers that we had to satiate us (the wings were pretty good.) And I loved the old school bar atmosphere. Front Street is the exact kind of place I imagined a bar to be when I was a kid, and that's a good thing in my mind. Unfortunately I have to ding you a star for your lack of bar games. All good bars need at least a steel tip dart board - and for the record, this is the kind of place that should really have shuffleboard. I may never find myself in Davenport again, but if this place had shuffleboard, I'd consider making a special trip.

If they hadn't gone smoke-free on November 1st, this rating would be 4 stars. The menu has always been very mediocre to me, so the only reason I justify giving it 5 stars is because the beer is excellent. The Bucktown Stout is my favorite followed by the Cherry Ale. Front Street also keeps nice big glass growlers in a fridge for purchase to-go. The only thing I need to worry about besides the beer are the onion rings and potato wedges(pub fries). I really can't recommend any of the food, because I really do not like any of it. The menu and the preparation of anything on the menu seems half-hearted to me. Inside the booths are nice and high, the bar is friendly and the South-facing windows allow you to sit and look out at Lock and Dam No. 15 on the Mississippi River . Front Street also has a nice beer garden.

Well, I ended up back here over the obligatory holiday-oriented visit-to-the-ol'-homestead, just to toss back a few with the old gang on a snowy night. I have to say the apricot ale was mighty light and tasty, but I'll be damned if it didn't take about an hour to get an order of sweet potato fries brought out. Apparently the waiter forgot that I had ordered them, or lost the ticket, or both. SO, the fries came gratis, along with another beer (which was a bit shy of the standard pint glass). Perhaps it was a rough night for this guy, but he successfully juggled the different drink orders of 6 people, while managing to totally biff it on the one food item among them. Seems like a bit of a poor showing, to me. The atmosphere is fine, not too loud, but they have of course followed the trend of every bar ever having to have TVs airing some kind of sporting event. I realize this is a draw for some patrons, but I'd like to actually interact with the people I came with, rather than absentmindedly oogling closed captioned commercials through approximately 20% of the night.

I love their beer and think it rivals some of Milwaukee's best mircobrews up where I live. I grew up in the QC and have always loved Front Street- for food and beer. We went to the Farmer's Market the other day and decided to venture into the old haunt for lunch with some friends who had never been there. Their beer is still as good as I remembered and they still have the Cherry Wheat, a favorite of mine when I was in college. Now my tastes have changed and I like a much more hoppy beer---their IPA does not disappoint--it was delicious! My husband has the Brewmaster's Special which was also a IPA, just not as hoppy. I ordered the salmon Cesar and the salmon was wonderful! The salad part though came with whole leaves, as if they just picked it up from the market. I had to do a lot of cutting and would have preferred that they do it in the kitchen, just sayin'. That is why you go out to eat right, so you don't have to do all the work. All in all, their food is solid and the beer is, oh.so .good!!! Highly recommend Front Street---they also have a great patio in back. The street parking is tricky: There are spots designated for Front Street right across the street- go there.

The staff are very friendly. The outdoor patio is breezy and relaxing. I really enjoyed the Tom Petty they were playing; very apropos for the setting the day i was there. It was also, from what I could tell, "family" friendly! As an Illinoisan I felt a vibe that said, "Welcome to Iowa!"

Checked this place out with a group of co-workers after reading the reviews. It was good to go. Place was very busy on the Friday night I was there, but still easy to get a beer. Wanted to sit in the beer garden but it was at capcity. Food was solid, but it took awhile to get it. Best part was the price of beer, $5 for 20+ oz glass. Can't argue with that.

Great micro brewed beers and ordering the sampler is a must if you're a first time patron. Happy hours are usually pretty crowded any day of the week. Fried-fish tacos are great and wooden booth seating area not so great.

  • Brian E.

2 stars for great great beer + 1 star for making the QCA a haven for microbrew fans + 1 star for proximity to downtown Davenport + 1 star for attentive staff..... Which, if my math is correct, equals 5 stars. A respectable total for a great local business that I hope sticks around for a long long time! I've never been there on an extremely crowded night, which is nice because I prefer drinking a few good brews with a few good friends and very few distractions/interruptions. Unfortunately, it's a little to easy to miss if you're flying down River Dr and the parking situation isn't plentiful...but you should have a DD anyway so you shouldn't need to bring a lot of cars ;-)

  • Dean K.

I've eaten at Front Street many times and would love to rate them 4 stars, but I've found the food and beer quality to be inconsistent. The menu is creative pub-grub, with the standard range of salads and sandwiches and hearty entrees. When executed well, the food is very good; the main problem is that the execution isn't consistent enough. As for the beer, the Raging River Ale is very good but the rest of their beer, while drinkable, is less impressive. You may want to request a sample before you commit to a whole pint.

When I ate at this place recently for lunch the food was simply not very good. My salad was really boring and average for the expensive price, and the two people with me who got burgers also found them average bordering on bad. Not much on the menu either. Summed up, it was too expensive for this average food.

Beer is awesome! Food is ok....Cheddar Ale soup was delicious but not too thrilled with the Chicken Cury Pita. The service wasn't the greatest...it was very busy, but still. I would go back to give it another chance.

I will second the stout that Tim L says. Indeed the beer is excellent, coming from a beer drinker that is heavily partial to lights. Unfortunately, coming here on a Saturday night will find you with the regulars as well as the college frat boys. I was in the minority being by myself and only wishing to pass time essentially. The atmosphere was conductive to drinking, though they really don't set themselves apart from other places. Yes I can watch sports elsewhere. Yes I can tip other barstaff that shows me their trampstamps and their now-perky-later-saggy tits elsewhere. The food would get a pass from this guy based on the ridiculously oily onion rings that three napkins later I still felt greasy. But in this area, I'd still rather come here for a pint and people watch.

Don't miss this place. Great food and awesome beer. We are hard to please but were hugely surprised at the freshness of the food. Check out the Chopped Salad and the Chicken Sandwich on pumpernickel. Home made everything! YUM!!!

Front Street is the place to go to get great Fish and Chips! The fish tacos and appetizers (we've tried the crab cakes and spinach artichoke dip) are great too. They have completely redone their menu, so if you haven't been there in the last couple months you need to head back. My coworkers order from here regularly and typically have nothing but good things to say as well. The atmosphere is relaxed and an awesome place to meet friends, or take family. Highly recommend.

  • Jen D.

Front Street has the best patio in the QCA, IMO. Love hanging out in the hot summertime with a pint after a long ride on the MRT. My one complaint is the sweet potato fries are sweet (brown sugar) not savory (salt, cayenne, what have you). I keep forgetting to ask if they can be dressed differently. Nachos, gyros-esq wrap, patty melt = all delicious, standard bar fare. Somewhat acronym-heavy review, apologies!

My wife and I travel through Davenport several times a year, and we never miss an opportunity to stop in for lunch of dinner. Very good beer selection, consistently good food on a varied menu, friendly and attentive wait staff. We take advantage of the outdoor dining out back whenever we can. Highly recommended.

Don't miss this waterfront brewery, with a great outdoor patio, in the Quad Cities. Great location, with well average beer, but great food! If you're in the area or visiting friends at Augustana College, make sure you go over to this great little spot. Near the minor league baseball stadium and Casino. Alot happening around this area, with plenty of parking around. Service is attentive and cheerful, you won't be disappointed. I always look forward to coming here.

The hamburger and fish tacos were good especially the ranch chipolte sauce on the taco but nothing to rave about. It may be on the front street but the view of the Mississippi is limited. In fact, the outside patio is in the back! Service was friendly but slow and it wasn't even busy.

I've been here 5-6 times over the years. It's decent bar food (mostly sandwiches, salads, some chicken dishes) and fresh, cold brews. It's a friendly atmosphere and nice to eat lunch outside on a sunny day.
