Worst place in town that I have been too. Rib tips were just pulled pork without a bun. Made me sick.

Great service, great Boji fries and you can see a tv anywhere you sit!

Service was poor, had to ask 2x for waitress to take food order, both times she said "I just have to take another table's order first." um, she didn't come back for 10mins; the 2nd time we implored her not to walk away again. Kid ordered Mac n Cheese: it was Kraft. Food was ok, but service was ridiculous.

Food is tasty and comes in good sized portions. TVs everywhere for anyone that wants to watch every sports game playing at the same time. Their signature pork chop with the bourbon sauce is delish. Atmosphere and service isn't particularly warm though but passable.

Food was average, nothing to write home about. Prices were reasonable for what you got though.

I went there with my kids while our van was getting serviced. We ordered two Mac n Cheeses, a grilled cheese and a taco salad. We waited for 45 minutes for our food. The place was only about a third full. The manager was trying really hard to keep people happy, but the wait was excruciating. The kids were starving. I used to go all the time and the food is great, but this trip will be really hard to get past.

The other night we went here again for dinner and somehow the meal ended up taking way longer than it should have to come out. A nice gentleman came out of the kitchen to apologize and offered us either a free dessert, or a free appetizer card to use on our next visit. The food was worth the wait either way, my tuna wrap was so delicious that I ended up having my bf bring one home for lunch the next day after he took his coworkers there!

This is small chain of restaurants located exclusively in Iowa. Casual dining that meets or exceeds the expectations of large & common national chains of suburban bar & grills. Many, many TVs. Prompt, friendly service. I really enjoy their hamburgers, and it is usually one of the primary reasons for me selecting this restaurant. The burgers here are really tasty, cooked to order and have some unique twists. I give very high marks in particular to the Kentucky Bourbon burger.

This used to be one of our go-to restaurants whenever we didn't feel like cooking supper and didn't want to think very hard about where to go. Unfortunately, they recently cut down their menu and removed the things we used to love. (We last went in September 2014 and it sounded like the menu had just been changed around that time.) They don't even have the Boji Bleu burger any more. We just ended up getting two orders of appetizers because we were hungry and tired and didn't want to drag ourselves to another restaurant. If they would restore the old menu they would be a solid 3.5 or 4 again.

Simple bar food. A good place to watch a game. Great drink specials on different nights.

As I understand it, they closed their business for good about a month or so ago.

My Parents took us out for dinner one night while we were staying with them in Ames. Mom and Dad have their local favorites, and this is one of them. It also helps to have a discount coupon and the distinctive Okoboji name. We walked in for an early Sunday dinner (~5:30 PM) and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. I tried to stay on the healthy choice side (which is harder to do in Iowa) and ended up with a nice salad with chicken. The rest of the gang opted for various sandwich options, which were OK, but not remarkable. And I did get a 22 ounce beer for the price of a pint. My bottom line was that we were fed well and at for good value, but with very little to write home about. If you want more of that while in Ames, try Hickory Park or Brick City Grill.

Been here many times. Great service. OK food. Every thing else I've tried (appetizers as well as menu items) is ordinary, over seasoned, too salty, &/or over-cooked. Decided to stop ordering anything else except a salad or their delicious mac & cheese.

This restaurant was not a good experience at all. We had a group of 25 from out of town, made a reservation 2 days in advance. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was not enough seating for the entire group. It took an hour and a half for the food to come out, which came out 2 plates at a time since only 1 waitress served us. Very disappointed in this establishment. We will most definitely not return.

I've only been here twice; however, I had a less-than-okay experience both times. The first time was about a year ago. It took forever (probably close to an hour) for me and the party I was with to get our food. The second time was only this past weekend. I wanted to give it another chance but this experience was probably worse. We ordered an appetizer, which came out in good time. But when we ordered our main course, it took about 30-40 minutes for it to come. I ordered the "pasta alfredo fiesta" which came with a side salad. You would think that the salad would come before the meal. Nope. It just took up space on the table. Now about the main course. They put "fiesta" in the name because in the picture on the menu, the pasta came with a good amount of sliced, very colorful and juicy looking red and green peppers. After I got my food, I did not have enough fiesta. Not nearly as much as in the photo. I had probably 10 little diced peppers. I was not happy. But I could have been pleasantly surprised. NOPE. Now, I know what jarred alfredo sauce tastes like. I've (sadly) used it before. I tasted my pasta and it tasted just like the jarred sauce. Whoever made the dish definitely doesn't know how to taste and season. It was very unsatisfying. The garlic bread that came with it was okay. Otherwise, I would not come here again. Ugh.

I hadn't been to Okoboji Grill in several years so we decided to check it out. The server was super friendly and accommodating in finding us a table where we could easily see the Vikings game, and was attentive without being TOO attentive the rest of the time we were there. We started with the southwest chicken eggrolls - tortillas stuffed with spinach artichoke dip, chicken, corn, and black beans and served with an avocado sauce. These were delicious and I would have happily eaten the tortillas plain, they were so good. I had the bruschetta chicken sandwich and Boji fries (seasoned fries). The ciabatta bun would have been a lot better if it had been a bit crispier, as the chicken and tomato basil sauce made the bun a bit soggy. My boyfriend had the alfredo di pollo, which was served with a slice of garlic bread and a side salad (he substituted steamed vegetables). I thought it was terrific and couldn't stop eating it, but he prefers more pasta and less sauce and this was heavy on the sauce. The sauce was also really cheesy, and he felt that with the portion size it would have been nice to have another piece of garlic bread. The menu at Okoboji Grill is HUGE and I think they would be just as well off cutting about half the items on the menu. I felt like I was reading a novel while I was deciding what to order. The things we ordered were good, but having fewer food items and doing them REALLY well is a lot better than having a ton of food and being mediocre at all of them. Reading an eight-page menu is tedious and unnecessary. The space is very nice with a separate bar and dining area and TVs in both areas. I could hear music and one of the football games on TV but both seemed to be coming from the bar and the music was very soft. Having music playing in the dining room wouldn't be a bad thing.

Okoboji Special pizza was nothing special. Soggy crust and toppings were pretty tasteless. My wife had a Chicken salad, the lettuce was yellow and the toppings were lacking. We got chicken bites for our 2 year old. She won the best meal by far. What she didn't eat, we did. Unfortunately this is the last time we'll eat here. Only upside was the server. She was quick, helpful and a very nice girl.

Stopped by for drinks/apps after work today and will not go back. Had to flag down a server to take our order 10 minutes after being seated. Ordered a plate of 'nachos', which appeared to have been microwaved with cold jalapeños and diced tomatoes thrown on top and a Moscow mule-one of their featured drinks- which I couldn't get because they were out of ginger beer on a Tuesday night. I paid my tab and my waitress didn't bring me my change. Even though it was $2.75 I did make sure to tell her that it is only polite to ASK customers if they need change instead of assuming one way or the other. This place needs to get its act together, I can't imagine why anyone would frequent such a poorly run bar/grill.

Usually have a good experience with delivery, but the last three times my order has been messed up, food has been, cold and has taken over an hour to be delivered. This last time I called and asked how much longer it will take (since it had already been an hour) and the lady on the phone got snarky with me.
