I only come here because it's close to home but if I can stand to, I'll hold off as long as I can and just hit up the one in town closer to my office. This is the slowest Starbucks i've been to. I don't know if its the order taking or the baristas. Every time I go to this location, there is always a long line that doesn't move much. In town, the lines are long but they move FAST! The speed in which this location gets the orders to when its delivered wouldn't work in the pace of downtown. When I was there, I was waiting for my two drinks for a long while. I couldn't see the barista counter from where I was standing. I didn't see my two drinks sitting there. I didn't hear my name get called out and it wasn't until I walked up to ask what they were that I realized these were mine. I checked the cup and they had no name or drink type written on the cup like it normally is. So I asked the barista if this was a chai tea with soy and he said, "Yes, I think so." How can you not know if you just made it? I literally waited 20 minutes for two drinks. Every time I have to hit up this location, I make sure I have at least half an hour to burn to wait for my order so I'm not late for any appointments. Two stars for a clean and organized store and well made drinks. Docking 3 for the mediocre, inconsistent, and super slow service.

I've been to a million Starbucks all over the world, and to be honest, I mostly only go when I don't have access to a reputable, locally-owned coffee spot. If nothing else, I can count on Starbucks for a pretty good and (most importantly) consistent latte. I come to the Kunia location a lot to do work while visiting family in Waipahu and away from home in Los Angeles. I wouldn't normally even think of rating a Starbucks on Yelp, but this review is mostly a rating of one barista in particular. I ordered a double tall latte, and for a second, I felt like I was back at Javista in Hollywood. Ross (maybe Rick, but I'm pretty sure the name tag said Ross) crafted my latte MASTERFULLY and delivered it with great customer service. Thanks, Ross! (or Rick, but I'm pretty sure it's Ross).

The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because i love their coffee. Other than that this location just takes forever and a day. It never fails. It doesn't matter the time or day they take forever!!! Otherwise, I love the spinach square, peppermint mocha & pumpkin spice frappe and caramel macchiato all w/ soy, no whip and yes decaf/half caff. I like that we have options.

This is one of the more spacious Starbucks locations I've found on the island. I found a table easily next to an outlet so I could get some work done. The staff are really friendly. Parking can be a bit tough depending on the time of day.

Love this location! Everyone there is friendly, they work fast and efficient with a smile on their face. I give it all 5 stars because it's great all around for obvious reasons. Also because it's perfect spot for someone who want to get their coffee before going to the salon next door. Super convenient beyond all means

This is the nearest Starbucks closest to my house. Their always friendly and clean. The workers are pretty cool. This one barista charged my orders in different transactions just so I can get my stars

By far the friendliest Starbucks I have ever been to. They made their special drinks sound so good I had to change my order on the fly.

Came here one afternoon around 4 pm after running errands at the Tmobile store. Was never greeted. The person who was working was cleaning or doing some kind of side job and didn't even acknowledge me and my sister. When she did see us she didn't say "hi how can I help you?" Or any greeting. Just looked irritated. Okay sorry we interrupted you doing your very important side job, but your job here is to take orders and make drinks. When I did make my order, there was no thank you not even a smile. Her personality from the start rubbed me off as if we were bothering her. Never coming to this location ever again after that experience. I always have bad experiences with Starbucks and their customer service.

I've been to a lot of Starbucks locations, but I must admit that this location is one of the best. Not only is this Starbucks spacious with a lot of tables/chairs to study, the employees are amazing. I've been to this location multiple times, however this past visit is what pushed me to give them a rating. One morning I was ordering Starbucks for work, and ordered 7 different drinks. I got to Starbucks around 7:10AM, and luckily there was only one person in front of me. While I was placing my order, the barista (I wish I got her name) started writing down my order, and even wrote the names of my co-workers on top of the cups so that we could easily pass the drinks out. By 7:20, the drinks were already done and I was on my way. The manager even offered to walk me to my car because I couldn't carry two drink trays. This location truly has the Aloha spirit.

#72/365 I like starbucks for the fact that they have free wifi and ESP because they have rewards/benefits when you load money on one of their various (gift)cards. Their drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced compared to other coffee shops. Their food items are okay and a bit expensive as theyre probably just shipped from the mainland. This starbucks is pretty clean and close to home so thats a plus. I also like that they have outdoor tables and a balcony that looks over the road below so if I wanted I could bring my dog along and sit outside [PS we need more pet friendly establishments! ;)]. Some of the cons are that is SUPER cold in here and sometimes, depending on the baristas, the music is kind of loud. They also need more outlets and comfy couches ;)

Gotta have my Cafe Mocha, that is by far my favorite drink at Starbucks. My alternate would be a Cafe Americano, black. Couple all of that with friendly, fast service and you have a great combination!!! Interesting things for sale too and the pastries are always tempting!!!

Well...it's a Starbucks. Parking is AWFUL. If you care about your car, park by Jack in the Box. Walk off some that White Mocha. Friendly staff. I mean, what else is there? I do to mean to sound cynical. I live right nearby, so I'll be back. Probably later today.

These people know how to serve coffee. I asked for a venti iced coffee asking them to keep it light on the ice and the Barista filled the cup nearly to the top! I was like, "man, it's been a while since I've had good service like this!"

love this location! great service, friendly and happy staff. i had numerous offers for an xtra shot on the house... thank u :) im here just about every other saturday morning before heading out to work for my caramel macchiatto fix. the only thing that sucks is the parking. i know starbucks is not responsible for that. omg--who is the cracker in charge of the parking plan?

  • Rise D.

This is my favorite Starbucks to meet a friend or study. It's nice and big and clean, and the workers are friendly. It can get cold in here though. Pearlridge location by the food court still has my vote for best and most efficient service, but Kunia Starbucks wins as a sit-down location. Parking right outside Starbucks can get busy, but there's lots of other nearby parking.

Spent quite a bit of time here getting some studying done. On both days, I was able to find parking but they may have been because I got there super early. It's a very spacious shop and the staff is very friendly. I was able to get my orders in a reasonable amount of time as well.

I really love this Starbucks location. My drinks are always perfect. I can't say enough about the very friendly staff. They are awesome, they are friendly, they remembered my name, they cheer me up with their energy at 5:30 am, and I love them!

First off, I have to say that this is the worst Starbucks that I have ever been to. I am a Starbucks fan and go to Starbucks everyday to fulfill my Starbucks cravings. However, this Starbucks has the worst customer service ever. The manager is a bi*t@h and the cashier was very rude. I went to the Ewa Starbucks earlier that day but as I was running errands my kids wanted a Jamba Juice. We stopped by the Kunia Jamba Juice. However, they told me that they discontinued making my kids favorite drink, so we went to Starbucks instead ( me not really wanting to go there because of the rude customer service I received the last time). I asked the cashier if they could split a venti frap into two cups for my children and the cashier said "No" (per her bitch ass manager). I told her that jamba does it and she gave me attitude and said "We'll were not Jamba Juice, we're Starbucks". That clearly pissed me off! Her attitude and customer service skills just sucked. I buy Starbucks everyday and spend well over $500 a month (buying fraps and pastries and fruits). I told the cashier that every other Starbucks does that for me, and she gave me attitude saying that they are not suppose to. ok, well, whatever! I could later hear her bitching to her manager in the back! HELLO, I am right there and could hear everything. Super rude and unprofessional. The customer service at the Kunia location is a complete fail. I dont know the managers name but the cashiers name was Emily! I am not a person to bitch or complain but this location is no longer getting my service.

Anytime I come in to this Starbucks (which is sporadic), upon seeing me, they have my drink ready by the time I come to the counter, and it is exactly the way I like it. Now that's service! Props to Barista James who is always in a good mood, even at 4:50 AM.

For all you Starbucks lovers (and no, that's not what Taylor Swift says in that one song...she says "long list of ex lovers") some fun trivial facts for you since you already know I'm going to rave about this location. If you're not interested in the useless coffee shop knowledge that I'm trying to incorporate into your casual conversation while you're standing in that long line waiting to order that double cupped skinny triple grande upside down caramel macchiato with only 2 pumps vanilla and light caramel drizzle at a temperature of 120 degrees (exhale), then skip past the bullet marks....(Be warned. I tend to be garrulous on places I deem five star worthy. ) -Starbucks uses over 93 million gallons of milk per year, enough to fill 155 Olympic sized swimming pools -There are over 87,000 possible drink combinations at Starbucks -The Trenta sized iced drink of 916mL is slightly bigger than your belly which on average is 900mL -The owners of Starbucks were originally going to name the establishment "Pequod" after the name of the boat in the Melville novel. Can you imagine saying, "Hey I'm stopping by Pequod, want anything?" Just doesn't sound right. Ooo but I did just learn that there is a pizza joint in Chicago called "Pequod's" & it's known for one of the best pizza joints in the USA! -The Pumpkin Spice latte was invented by a Stanford basketball player who worked there during his college years at Stanford -The baristas that work at the CIA's Langley campus go through a more exhaustive background check and no names are labeled on the cups -Two new Starbucks on average open everyday around the world and have been since 1987 -There is really no rhyme or reason to the names of the sizes of the cups. They were totally made up. Despite popular belief, although "venti" in Italian translates as "twenty", a venti cup does not hold 20 ounces of fluid...well that's not totally true. The hot venti is 20 ounces, but the cold venti is 24 ounces. With all those Starbucks superfluous statistics out of the way now, say that five times fast, onto my reasons for those five stars. The majority of all Starbucks serve similar drink combinations and food, and for the most part, it all tastes all the same as long as the baristas follow the predetermined recipes. It's ok coffee and food with the exception of a smooth bodied Ristretto shot (try changing your regular Espresso shot to a Ristretto one) and the Gold Coast dark roast. When they feature Gold Coast as a fresh brew, be sure to try it. It's bold, smoky and robust, reminiscent of a good, dark, stout beer. It starts off with an earthy, woodsy flavor, then ends with a chocolaty finish. You can also purchase bags of whole beans of it. The five stars for this location is earned for excellent customer service. They make a real effort to get to know their regular customers to give your coffee experience a personal touch. There have been times I've seen customers walk through the door and approach the register with the barista already standing there with a drink prepared in hand and all the customer has to do is scan to pay and they're out the door. This helps dwindle down that long line tremendously! So much for sharing your useless Starbucks knowledge. Maybe you could do that at another location where the lines are even longer. For those reviewers who have complained that the service is slow? Come on, give these guys a break! I've seen them busting their butts moving fast while carrying on conversations with the waiting customers. Keep in mind, they're at the mercy of only 2 espresso machines, 2 blenders, one oven and a small cramped space behind the bar. It's a well oiled machine run by excellent management and an assiduous team. And for those that complain about items running out? Again, keep in mind we live on an island in the middle of the Pacific and getting things to us is not always an easy task; neither is the staff's task of ordering these items without wasting too much to keep your prices reasonable and waste at bay. Speaking of prices, do you realize this location has the lowest prices on the island? Yup. Yet another reason to come to this Starbucks. Outdoor seating is always a nice option, especially in Hawaii where Guy Hagi is the only man that's right 90% of the time. (Guys don't be mad. It's a joke.) Yes, parking is a bitch, but where in Hawaii, is it not? All of the baristas, as well as support staff are wonderful. The mom in me won't divulge whether or not I have favorite ones, but if you're a parent, would you admit to having a favorite child? Like I tell my kids, "you're all special and unique and that what makes you awesome as a team" and this Starbucks team accomplishes Starbucks mission statment of: "to inspire and nurture the human spirit - one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time." You knew I had to end with one last bit of Starbucks facts. Now, go get your coffee on.

This is one of FOUR coffee shops located within a 5 mile radius near my place - three of them being Starbucks. We came here after dinner to grab some coffee and to chit chat some more and much to my surprise, OUTDOOR SEATING!! I get excited when there is optional seating outside since none of the Starbucks near me have it. The other competitor has some outside of their shop but it's near a supermarket and usually occupied with tons of retirees (not that there is anything wrong with that). Service was quick and coffee X 3 was on point!! We did go in the evening and seats inside and out were plentiful. Unlike the Starbucks closer to where I live, there aren't masses of middle school children buying tons of coffee (like they need it at that age - seriously!), nor am I trying to play "frogger" with the amount of pedestrians in the parking lot and road, this place is just perfect. I may have found my newest favorite Starbucks to go to.

I'm usually one to support local coffee shops but sometimes it's just really convenient to make a stop at the nearby Starbucks. They make it a bit more exciting by having Starbucks Rewards. I eventually made my way to the Gold Level. I'm sure you Starbucks enthusiast know what I'm talking about. This location in particular has to be my favorite. Convenience obviously plays a factor since it is near home and on the way to work. But that aside its a lot more roomier with many seats and outdoor options. There's enough outlets to go around. It isn't as busy and crowded as the others on island. At one point I frequented enough that the barista just called off my order for me. It's always nice when any establishment knows that little part about you. And of course we all recognize SB for their free wifi Only downside is that parking can get hectic when trying to park in the front of it but I just park in the lot between Jack in the Box and the bank and just walk it. My go to whenever stopping by for breakfast is usually Blueberry Oatmeal and a Grande Hazelnut Iced Coffee with Soy Milk. I'll stop in randomly and pick up some kind of pastry. And when I'm really craving it I'll advise the barista on making me a Butterbeer off of the secret menu. I've tried actual Butterbeer at Wizarding World of Harry Potter and I'd have to say it comes pretty close to the real thing!

I love this Starbucks. The staff is very friendly and they give awesome recommendations when I don't know what I want to drink. The lobby is very spacious, although finding a table and an outlet can be pretty competitive. I go to school at UHWO so this store isn't all that far (Kapolei by Jack in the Box has such a small lobby and the drive-thru there is always packed).

This is not a big deal but it's annoying so I need to get it out: I've been a gold member with Starbucks for over 3 years now. And I go on average of 2-3x/week pretty consistently. Today for the first time EVER in my life, I was informed that I had to pay $0.60 for my strawberry black tea refill. Not for the tea but actually for the strawberry syrup. I was always told that the strawberry is sub for classic (which is what I've always done and never charged extra) so where did this come from? So instead of my usual $0.52 refill which is actually FREE for Gold members, I was actually charged $1.15 but then told if I put the $5 cash I was about to pay with on my card as a reload then I can get the tea for free and just pay $0.60 for the strawberry syrup. Wtf. I was so annoyed by that point that I paid the cursed $0.63 (tax!) and put the $5 on my card. Thanks Kunia dude. I'll stick to every other Starbucks on this island that honors the true Gold member refill. The two stars go to the barista dude (Caucasian, glasses, tatted! :)) who made both drinks, perfectly blended thank you!! :)

Starbucks is just Starbucks... But there are two things I've gotta say about this location: I only ever get iced coffee at Starbucks---and the iced coffee here has yet to disappoint. Sometimes I get mishaps with watered down, old tasting coffee, but not at this location. And the other, more important thing, is that this place doesn't get too crowded with laptop hobos--at least on the times I've visited. It's absolutely crazy when walking into a Starbucks, that every single nook and cranny possible is jam packed with a person on a laptop, without even an order of coffee. Sometimes a girl wants to just sit down while waiting for her order! Sorry to any offended laptop hobos out there :)

After all the years of coming to this Starbucks I finally had a bad experience! It was fairly busy, but I definitely would wait for a quality product with great customer service rather than have my coffee made terribly by a rude barista! My order came out quick and I was happy as I was running late. As I was getting in my car I noticed that the barista taking my order heard wrong and I ended up with a Mocha rather than a white mocha - ehhh no biggie right? Wrong! It didn't even taste like coffee! It tasted like warm dirt water. No taste at all. It was so bad I actually turned around and drove back! The same barista helped me that originally took my order. After explaining how messed up my drink was all I got was a blank stare and a "ok what do you want then?" My white mocha turned out just the same as the last! Like warm water...but by now I was too irritated to even bother. Hopefully this does not become a regular thing.

Starbucks has specific measurements per drinks so I can't say anything about it. However sometimes drinks are as consistent to say the least. I received such horrible service around the slow hours of 10pm. There was only one person infront of me and there were two baristas. One was chatting it up with the customer and the other was preoccupied with something else. It took a good 5 minutes just acknowledge I was waiting. The barista asked what she can start me with and I ordered my regular ice teas(tevano is by far one of my favorite tea brands). She quickly punched in my order and this is where things got kinda bad. There was no sincerity in her voice, she mumbled something and I asked her to repeat what she said, and said do you mind the wait because we have to brew the tea, in my head it was obvious I had to wait unless the teas are concentrated, so I waited and got a table. It was already 10 minutes in and no customers around. I made eye contact with the barista and she totally forgot to give my drink. She then said oh that's the customers drink. The other barista the. Yelled "ice tea". I couldn't handle It so I took it and walked away, there was no "thank you" or "have a good night". In summary drinks are great but this location has some baristas that needs to be reminded what a barista should be. In my eyes they should have great customer service since it's where people mostly get their day started or their night cap. So please keep a smile or at least acknowledge customers as people too.

All Starbucks are not created equal and if you're on the Leeward side of the island looking for a break this is a good pick. It's certainly in need of some TLC in terms of furniture upgrades and cleaning but it's not terribly busy so you'll easily find a seat. There's indoor as well as outdoor seating and lots of spots to plug in your computer or phone. They have a fairly large selection of well priced holiday gifts (mugs, tea, coffee) so if you're in a pinch, this might be your multi-tasking, procrastinators dream during the holidays. There are two types of people hanging at Starbucks on the day I stopped by: +College students working on group projects +Entrepreneurs making business deals What has become of us that Starbucks is our home away from home and our office when we have no office. Oh well, at least the Wi-Fi is free!

The staff was friendly and my coffee was perfect. I've been to about six different Starbucks here on Oahu and have to say that this one is not as busy (especially with students with their laptops). It could be the time of day (Saturday afternoon) that I went. There was no waiting for a table! I don't understand how people can actually study here with the loud music but hey, whatever makes them happy. Definitely be going back to this location again.

I had one heck of a time finding this Starbucks, and I was in dire need because I just left the eye doctors office. The parking lot was packed for being a Saturday morning, but the store itself was just steady. This was one of the cleanest Starbucks I have seen on the island so far.

So Coming here 15 mins before closing. Why do I feel like we shouldn't be here? Oh wait the barista name tony or whatever his name tag says gave us the meanest look. Even we came in he started slamming things down hard. Once I ordered, I wanted my drink to be specific. He says oh it doesn't come shakened. Ummm okay I dont care I wanted it shakened. While he's making our drinks he still slamming shit like there was no tomorrow. U know what I gotta say like always, if u don't like ur job then quit. Expect that there will be customers coming in before closing. Learn the basic customer service!!!!!

My wife is addicted to Starbucks so we come here a lot. (Like almost everyday) the workers are usually really friendly but they're not the types to hide when they're having a bad day, but hey we're all human. It's way more spacious in here than other starbucks. My order has been wrong a few times when it's busy but they're usually really good about getting it fixed if you ask. Parking can a real pain if it's busy. I'd say it's one of the better starbucks overall though.

One of the best Starbucks spots ever!!! Services from the baristas have always been so great! I've never had any problems here with my drink. For some reason if I was to order the same drink at a different location it never comes out the same. The only thing I'll complain about is not having enough electrical outlets.

One thing about Starbucks is that it is EVERYWHERE no matter where you go and I absolutely LOVE that there is a location in Kunia! In terms of customer service, it is very similar to what I've written about the 860 location. In a nutshell, they're just terrific, Depending on what time you come to this location, parking can be really nice and easy, or just a pain in your derrière. If you come between 8:30-10:00 am, parking is pretty good. I've never come here at night, so unfortunately I don't know if it gets better or not. I'm assuming it does, though. Be aware that the 3 parking stalls on the far right of this location are 15 min stalls only. Overall, it's a nice location. Very spacious and welcoming ambiance just like 860 and Ward. I love to come here on my days off.

Starbucks. The name says it all to the seasoned veteran of their tried and true beverages of choice to the ever growing list of coinsures. I find the staff very, very approachable and friendly. They are always accommodating and appear to genuinely care to be serving you your coffee, meal, or pastry. I have no complaints. I gave my wife a Starbucks card for her birthday and since turned a while ago into a Gold Card. We even bought our coffee machine on the Starbucks shopping site online. Their standard pour "Pike Place" is indisputably the best of their grinds. I do have one suggestion/complaint. We sat and waited for a table to open with a plug so my wife could work. People, during this 30 minute period (I know because I was fed up when that time hit), did not get refills. They occupy tables for other paying customers who would like a plug outlet as well. Can you place a time limit on how long people can stay the tables with outlets? Either that or make them buy a coffee to remain there? How about a fee? Something reasonable. $1 an hour?? Something needs to be done about those who turn your, no, OUR shop into an office for 8 hours a day. Thank you.

what: a coffee shop, each location is slightly different but the drinks are always consistent~ something good: since living on this side of the island this has become my go-to spot for a late night treat~ i actually really do like this location. it's always clean and they always have a seat open! the people who work here are super fast : ) it's not too noisy and everyone who comes to hang out here just keeps to themselves! very nice and quiet spot! something not so good: nothing really~! something to try: hot chocolate

Walked into this Starbucks and the first thing I noticed was how dirty it was. the girl behind the counter made me wait 7 minutes before she took my order. She was laughing and joking with a male co-worker during my wait. When I received my coffee it was either old from sitting out or burnt. Rather than interrupt the courting that was happening between employees I walked over to the bar to add sugar and cream. The counter was sticky and had black soot on it and the napkin dispensers were empty. Frustrated I turned to ask for assistance and stepped in smeared drops of chocolate on the floor. Needless to say I am never coming back to this Starbucks EVER and the saddest part is that this is the only SB in Waipahu---Waikele please be worth it!

First off people who know me know that I am a fan of Starbucks, Yet I am very frustrated with the inconsistency of the product that this store provides, over the past year almost every time that i order the same drink (a 5 shot, venti, soy, SF CDL) the drink is always some how different, today my cup was at least 3/4 to 1 inch short of the top, I had it made without soy in the past, almost pure foam on other occasions, this place is very close to my house but I think that Im done with giving this store my money. I havent really had this experience at just about any other store, at over $7.00 a purchase consistency is not much to ask. Over all the staff is very nice and seems to care, but considering this is issue it detracts from the overall experience in this store, hence when I do have to go here it just going to be regular coffee for me.

Okay So I'm only going with what happened on Tuesday (8/13/13 5:26 PM) Me and my girlfriend went to order drinks and when it was our turn, The Cashier taking our orders had a pretty sassy and rude attitude and was pretty obnoxious. She said things along the lines with a sassy attitude (EH WHERE MY PEN STAY? and WHAT YOU LIKE DRINK? Lady was pretty rude if you ask me. After ordering, we waited for our drink, when our drinks came, the barista got my drink wrong. I asked for "Thai Walls" not Thai mixed in. When I told the barista this, I saw the anger in her eyes, I thought it was funny but she then gave me a bitchy fake smile and said "oh i'm sorry I'll get you a new drink" -sigh- I just wish these workers would be more professional while working.

Everytime I come here, which is every Monday, service is always excellent! Everyone's always friendly, never experienced a grouchy employee! But most important, the coffee rocks! I also come here for the super cold A/C, since Kunia is sooo frickin' hot haha. I think this the only Starbucks that is so cold...please keep it that way, it's one of the reasons why I love coming to this location! Oh yah, they got free Wi-Fi now! See ya next Monday! One negative...the parking lot can suck at times since it's so small!

This is my favorite Sbux on the island. Mostly cuz the barristas know me, but also bc the service is always friendly and usually quick. Parking is never much of an issue and they have the hubs favorite apple fritters. IF my drink isnt quite right (and this is rare) they fix it with a smile and no attitude. Much ALOHA to them!!
