I seem to find all the nice old aunties in Hawaii! I swear they are all my favorite places to eat :) This one's got a few, i think they use the restaurant during the day as a hang out pot like your old tree house in the back yard, and play bridge all day when they don't have a major event. They are open for Lunch and Dinner, and their menu is very basic local dinner menu. but thank got this is a traditional place because i ordered a hamburger steak and i got a REAL hamburger steak...not just two frozen burgers heated up and tossed with gravy, but borderline meat loaf patties with gravy over everything...I didn't know mac salad could float! Apparently their dinner specialty is saimin, the state in their menu that if supplies run out, they will close, or something to that nature. Guess I'll have to go back for a sample :)

Stopped here on the way to Kokee. Cute little local place, that I never knew was here before, so this is our 1st time trying it. In spite of waiting 1/2 hour for our food, since there was only 1 cook and 1 waitress (she apologized for the inconvenience) the food was actually very good and well priced. I had the Loco Moco and it was delicious! One friend had the veggie omelet, another had the Portuguese omelet and my 3rd friend had eggs and link sausage. They all agreed everything was delish. Will definitely be back to try the saimin they serve between 6:30-9:00pm.

Great food, very friendly staff. We had French toast, chili, and the Portuguese sausage omelette, and everyone loved their meals. Would definitely stop in if in the area!

This is a little hole in the wall that can be easily bypassed while driving through Waimea on the island of Kauai. The menu is limited but the food and price is definitely worth checking out. My favorite for breakfast, lunch or dinner there is the Beef Stew with rice. The portion isn't that big but it gets you filled. If you're a big eater, you can order 2 bowls and won't feel it tugging on your wallet. Breakfast best for me are their French Toast with a side of Goteborg sausage and a couple of eggs looking atcha... If you're on vacation on Kauai and getting an early morning start to the Waimea Canyon I would definitely stop by for breakfast or some sandwiches to go.

High on value for money, but menu items are limited. Basically they are same ingredients in what seems to be a total of three different combinations. I had the Won Ton Min and it was over sized. I ordered the large and it was too much for me to finish. Keep in mind that there are lots of curly spaghetti type noodles in there. Worth the price, but there are other places more yummy.
