I tried to order several things on their menu and the gentleman kept telling me they don't have it. The only thing they had was hamburger steak. It was like he did not want to make anything. Oh and he was very sarcastic and rude on top of that. Oh well of to Tiffanys to eat instead. First and last time coming here.

This used to be the Millyard Snack House - it's now called Millyard Hamburger Steak House. There is no other place on island that I've had such a tasty Hamburger Patty. Which is saying a lot because being 9 months pregnant and counting, the only thing that I've consistently craved is hamburgers. We spent a bit of time talking story with the owner/chef and his wife. It's a small diner with 4 tables with seating for 4 each. Many people get their foods for take out during lunch time. I'm not sure if they're open for dinner. Especially as the owners were due to expect their first born back in October 2012. Rumored (and likely true) to have had many a restaurant chef on island request their hamburger recipe - there is no way to describe it but UMAMI! There is something unique about how a Korean seasoned hamburger patty is flavored. Of course we asked for the recipe ourselves but were met with a little chuckle from the owner. Get your burger plain, you don't need all the acoutrements. Also share your order of fries or freshly cut and battered onion rings on the side.

This company is not called Mill yard snack house anymore, its called Mill yard Hamburger Steak House. I never been here to this restaurant before and I always drove by but never stopped to eat. Today was the first day. I went in with my family member and we ordered 2 hamburger steak plates. We reached there at 11am and left at 12pm. We Waited 24 minutes for our food. The owner Ezra Ka was working alone! He was taking orders and cooking. I could tell he was overly stressed. When our plate lunches were ready he bagged them in paper bags, the plates barely fit in there. We walked straight to the car and only to look that the gravy sauce was soaking the bottom of the bag and spilled over. It was a mess. Let me remind you this man does not provide napkins in the restaurant unless you ask him AND he did not put napkins in the carryout bag for our plates. So, we took out the plates to clean up the mess. My family member went in to ask for napkins and he gives the customer 1 napkin after she told him it spilled all over. Then I went in with the plate lunch with gravy all over it and my right hand filled with gravy. The plates were ridiculously overflowed with gravy! I asked the owner Ezra for napkins and showed him my hand and the plate and he told "WAIT"... I stood there for 5 minutes waiting. I said forget it and walked out with the plate and my hand still covered in gravy and as I walked out the plate fell apart. The front end of the plate was heavier then the back end so the hamburger spilled on the sidewalk right outside of his door. I was mad already because the time was 1135 and my family member had to be to work at 12 and I was also mad because of the terrible customer service. So I went back in and gave him the plate on his counter and asked him to was my hands he told me to wait again, then after about a minute he told me where the sink was. I told Ezra what happened and he raised his voice at me and said "Whatever happen outside of the restaurant has nothing to do with him!" I was shocked and stunned. So he didn't want to help me and give me napkins because the food spilled outside the restaurant. Then he yelled at me and said "so you want another plate". I said "Are you going to give me one or not?" He started arguing with me (the customer) and said he will only do this one time and give another plate and he did not want to offer me help and provide anything for ME to clean up the food outside of the restaurant. I told him in front of other customers "This is the first and last time I am coming here". So the my family member and I waited for another 25 minutes for one plate. We pulled out of the parking lot at exactly 12pm. The picture you see on yelp of the hamburger steak plate is false advertisement. The gravy is not that color it is light light brown. He give many thin slices of hamburger and when I reached home to finally taste it and it was disgusting. The meat was mushy and soft. Overall I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone! This is my #1 bad restaurant. FOOD SUCKS AND SO DOES THE OWNERS ATTITUDE!

Last time we ate here, we all got the runs! Not a good experience at all. I think it may have been a bad batch of hamburger, but why risk going back just to get sick again. Previously, the food was really good and consistent, but the last few times were just terrible. Not sure if the recipes changed or if the owners just don't give a rip anymore.

Best hamburger steak in da WORLD!!! I've been saying this for years and I feel I'm part of the success of this restaurant because I tell everyone I know about this place. The people are very nice, the food is great, and there is plenty of parking. This hole in the wall restaurant serves Korean/local style plate lunches. The hamburger steak is made, not bought, and it makes all the difference. Whenever I come to Maui I always try to stop by this place.

I've been going there since they first opened and it's still the best place to get ONO hamburger steak. They are very well known for their hamburger steak, but it's best to get the regular plate not the "mini". Their other menu items are not as great, some menu items has changed for the worse, for example they replaced very good noodles in the garlic shrimp for cheap tasting noodles. I wish they kept all the ingredients the same on all their menu items. When they first opened i tried everything on the menu and EVERYTHING was worth going back for but now they substituted or changed ingredients in each menu item. Don't know why they would do that, why change something that is doing well especially if it's a main component in the dish. The only item that has not changed is the hamburger steak. So YES it is still worth going for the hamburger steak.

This place is no longer called the Millyard Snack House. It is the Millyard Hamburger Steak House. I have been going to this place for years. A little hole in the wall, hard to find, and well worth it. A lot of their menu is Korean/local food. The reason to eat here though is the hamburger. The only one. Get a plain cheeseburger. Meat and cheese only. No veggies. No sauces. No worries. If you feel like having a plate lunch, go with the hamburger steak. Don't waste your time with a mini. Too much $ and you will be pissed you didn't have another patty of goodness . The rice is white and the mac salad is yummy. Add the gravy and you have magic. Go Loco Moco with a couple of eggs on top. What makes this hamburger so special? I asked the owner and in his broken engrish he said...hard work. Thanks. The meat is super flavorful, super tender, has a great sear/crust...it is just awsome. Over the years, I have tried other things too. The chow fun is very unique and unlike any other you will try on island. The korean chicken is nice and spicy. I still always come back for the hamburger. Be patient. Everything is made to order and it is a one to two person operation. I have waited 30 minutes for 2 burgers. I swears they are worth it. Damn, I almost forgot...the onion rings. The guy won't always make them. If he is in a good enough mood and the stars come together...get an order. They are house made. Fresh. I don't know if he uses Maui onions, but they are great. Only eat them there. They lose it when you to go them. Aloha!

Hamburger steak is my default choice when going to any new plate lunch place, so I've tried it everywhere. We were on a weekend trip to Maui and were looking for a quick bite to eat in Wailuku before heading to the airport. I love hamburger steak, so of course I had to try this place. With all of the great reviews and they even changed their name to include hamburger steak in it, it has to be good, right? It was just ok to me... Nothing special. Some of the L&L's have hamburger steak that tastes better.

Best hamburger steak on Maui. Love the food, love the people that work there. The owner is so happy to see everyone. Everything about the hamburger steak plate is perfect. The burger is homemade, gravy is unrivaled(best part), rice and onions cooked just right. This is the first place I have to go to when I return to Maui for winter and summer break.

I'm not a big Hamburger Steak fan but I figured they'd use the same hamburger for their Cheeseburger Deluxe. I think they did because I didn't need to add anything to my very tasty cheeseburger. The $5 price was decent for my burger. However, the mini spicy chicken that my boyfriend had wasn't worth the price. The price would've given us a regular size plate lunch else where. I guess the next time we go there, we'll go when we have bigger appetites so we can get the regular size portions. The average cost with drink per person would be about $14 (tip not included).

I've been here once years ago but never wrote a review. I was craving hamburger steak, so what better reason to give them another try? ATMOSPHERE: The simple, small eatery is located at the entrance of the Millyard industrial park in a small strip mall. There are only two 4-seat tables inside and a take-out counter. I'd guesstimate 99% of the business is take-out. MENU: Hawaiian local, Korean dishes, seafood, chow fun, burgers, saimin, and soups. FOOD: Loco Moco - This is oddly only 5-cents more than the Hamburger Steak plate. It's a big portion for $9.55. The 2 big homemade patties were moist with a great charred flavor and texture, and covered in a medium-dark brown gravy that could've used a pinch more of salt, and topped with a fried egg with a delicious medium yolk. The steamed rice was good. The mac salad was overcooked, under-flavored and peppery. SERVICE: The owner is a nice guy, very friendly and personable. OVERALL: Nice menu, good loco moco, generous portions, weak mac salad.

I suggest you call ahead of time to order, my friend & i did a last min decision on lunch and we ended up waiting for almost 30 mins. Due to only 1 guy working the front & kitchen, he was really nice & sweet though. I ordered the mini pork katsu-portion wise not bad, the pork itself was good, the macaroni salad had too much pepper in it =(

Our tech from the condo recommended this place for burger steaks. So that's I ordered. Yep, is a couple of huge hand formed burger steaks covered in a brown gravy with two scoops of rice and mac salad. Don't bother with the other things, others in our party ordered them and weren't so happy, unlike me. The wife could so with some customer service lessons, but the husband/cook makes up for it. He came out and personally checked on us. Really hard working family dishing up burger steaks, their daughter is super cute keep herself occupied too. A solid 4 stars for the burger steak/loco moco, minus half a star for the wife, ignore her and chow down.

When I'm in the mood for hamburger steak this is my favorite spot to go. Handmade and probably the only hamburger steak worth trying on maui. The service is hit or miss. The owner and cook is a very nice guy but a lot of the time he is alone and busy. You can try to order by phone but most times he won't start making your order until you arrive.
