I'm a brownie girl and I gotta say their brownies here are the bomb. I love how they cut them into small pieces for you to enjoy and savor. And the powdered sugar on top make its look professional even if it's a white plastic bag. This has to be one of the best brownies on the island!!! I will need to try the other pastries.

Before I begin, this establishment should put their nutritional facts on My Fitness Pal for the IIFYM and people who monitor their intake The staff here are so friendly. The prices are so cheap, and the baked goods are great! I got some of the "yesterday's" sale items, because there was a bag with so much variety, and I got some cinnamon bread too. The woman gave me another bag of goodies for free! She was so sweet to my daughter. We got long johns, cinnamon bread sticks, Danish assortments and malasadas. It was all so good, I had to taste it all. I microwaved them for like 10-15 seconds, and BAM! Like new.

I guess everyone goes to Kalani's for their brownies. Since we were up the street trying out Sunnyside we decided to stop by here for some brownies. I got four pieces which is not much since they are long rectangular pieces. It was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them.

I love this bakery....I don't get to go here often, but I sometimes receive their pastries as a gift (which is awesome!). Whenever I am near this part of the island, I try to stop by and score some goodness. I was turned on to this place by my family. They love the treats from here. Everything is pretty good. But be warned. They don't always have everything in stock. I am not sure what their system is, but I recommend going early....very early. Why are their baked goods so delicious...well, I have a theory. I believe they have captured a mythical creature here and hidden it in a back room.....they steal it's fairy dust, and sprinkle it onto the food...so when you eat it...your eyes glaze over with bliss. ....Or they are really good at baking......but I think it's the first one.... I do enjoy the butter rolls here. They are not my favorite of the island but they are good. Here is my secret for increasing the yummy factor of a butter roll (not that you asked): Take the bag of rolls with you shopping during the day. Put the plastic bag on your dash while you shop your day away. When get back to the car, the sun will have warmly kissed your rolls, and the bag might even be slightly steamy. Pull out a warm roll and enjoy....over and over again! The turnovers here are a must. I have had the coconut, cherry, apple and blueberry....they are all delicious. The outside pastry is a thicker crust, which I prefer. They glaze the outside with a thin coat of frosting which makes you wanna just stuff it in your piehole. The inside filling is sweet, with a little tartness...depending on the flavor. All put together, it's the perfect size snack for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or in between. Probably my favorite thing here is the brownies. These are not your traditional soft and moist brownies. They are more chewy and dense. They have nuts in them and they have a light dusting of powdered sugar (fairy dust) on the outside. Not only is the fairy dust sprinkled on top, but I am positive it's in the batter as well. Amazing bakery....just get there early!

Crack. They sell crack here. Well not literally. It's crack in the form of brownies. Ramfis brought brownies to a few UYEs I've been too and I couldn't stop eating them. I knew the next time I was in Wahiawa, I needed to get a box of my very own...for me alone. They're dericious. Chewy brownies with walnuts and powdered sugar on top. They're not cut like a typical brownies square but in long finger size rectangles which somehow makes me devour them even faster. This bakery looks like it's been here for years and is another part of nostalgic Wahiawa. They've been around for over 50 years! They have pastries and cakes here too which I'm sure are probably amazing which I hope to try if I can ween myself off of those crack brownies. If you haven't tried the brownies, don't. You'll say mean things to your boyfriend so he won't touch/eat the brownies. You'll get addicted and have sweet foodgasmic dreams about those brownies

Unlike most people who have a sweet tooth, I have 28 sweet teeth and EVERY ONE of them fell instantly in love with the first bite of the Chantilly cake. Let me warn you...IT'S RICH! Two layers of German chocolate cake with a sweet cream in the middle and the most perfect, creamy frosting covering the entire thing! I even shared a bite or two with my puppy and the look of ecstasy on his sweet little face was PRICELESS! I have found my FAVORITE bakery!

My aunt brought me here to get some brownies. They were $9 and for those $9, I would have rather bought a box of mix and make them myself at home. I really REALLY didn't care for those brownies... and what was up with all the powdered sugar on them? The 4 stars is actually for their other pastries. I picked up a guava bearclaw looking thing, a pineapple and cream cheese bear claw, a pineapple turnover and a coconut turnover. They were all pretty damn good but the pineapple bearclaw thing and the pineapple turnover and hands down winners. Would return to this place if I was in the area. Bring cash if you don't plan on spending more than $10 though.

Ordered a half sheet rainbow cake for my son's birthday party and got a dry, not rainbow, ice cream cake instead. Personally it ruined my childhood memory of it being the best place to get rainbow cake. Customer service is okay.

We were in Oahu from 6/27-7/7 and went to get goodies here 3 times during our trip. Tried the brownies & the Chantilly cupcakes first then returned to get more because they were awesome! The third time we went (7/6), the young man at the counter suggested we try the Chantilly cake. We sure glad we bought the cake! It was the most delicious Chantilly cake we've ever had & we had tried plenty in the past! The only regret I have is not buying a whole cake the moment we arrived so we could've gotten a second one before we left Until next time & before I forget, I bought a single brownie on my way out and the same young man grabbed me a freshly baked one from the back. Excellent goodies and service!

My favorite bakery! I absolutely love their chocolate covered donuts, stick donuts, brownies and Dobosh cake. Come early for those donuts by 8am, you'll get nothing! But no worries, everything is delicious.

I came in today looking for a place to buy a birthday cake for a co-worker at the last minute for our potluck at work. I was considering other places, but Kilani Bakery came into my mind. I thought, "Why not support the local business?" The cakes they had were the chantilly cake, dobash cake and dobash supreme (the difference between the dobash and the dobash supreme is that the dobash supreme has chantilly filling, btw). I ended up getting the dobash cake with writing, which is an additional $2.00. Brought the cake to work and it was a big hit with the co-workers! They absolutely loved it. The dobash filling tastes and has the texture of chocolate pudding (they actually thought it was chocolate pudding). I also bought individual packs of vanilla ice cream from Tamura's, and they complemented the dobash cake really well. I've been here for several years ever since I was a child. The brownies, of course is my favorite. It's not too sweet and not too bitter, having the right amount of balance. It goes perfectly with milk. I also love the raspberry jelly-filled donuts and applesauce-filled donuts. I like that they sell individual beverages such as juice, fruit punch, milk and coffee with your choice of pastry on-the-go. Note: be prepared to bring cash if you plan on spending less than $10 dollars; there's a $10.00 minimum for credit card payments.

Happy to say I'm a "lifer" customer @ Kilani Bakery. And am raising my son to be one too -- responsibly, of course! :) Custard -- pie, filling in long john's or cake, etc. Their custard is THEE best custard ever. Napoleon's, Foodland, Safeway, Liliha...no other bakery gets their custard just right. Light & fluffy...and never leaves me with a stomach ache. :D Dobash -- yes! The best! Specialty (rare) items like Cream Cupcakes -- super light and fluffy. Soft, moist. Butter Rolls -- even the simple butter roll is just enough butter, just enough fluff. Sweet Potato turnovers -- love! Stick donuts -- You think donut holes from any other bakery are good? Then, this is good-EST! Go early (they open 5:30-ish) and buy stick donuts fresh. Yum! Everything else -- very much worth buying. Support or local mom/pop establishments! Yay Kilani Bakery!! :)

5-star brownies...DEF! Being a brownie lover, I kept hearing the raves about their brownies so I made the drive up to Wahiawa. I figure I can at least get a new check-in on Yelp...lol. Well, I'm sold on the hype! Next time, I'll need at least 5 bags ;)

  • Kellyn T.

Luckily I got there right as they took the brownies out of the oven so they were still warm and basically melted in my mouth. Te powdered sugar was a nice touch to it. I got some chocolate glazed doughnuts, which weren't the best but then Again this was about 2 in the afternoon. The customer service was great. The girl helping us was absolutely adorable and sweet. It seems like a mom and pop shop and love the country feel to it

Delicious old-fashioned tasting custard pies! The taste of vanilla makes an appearance that you can't miss.

Yelp 100 Challenge #59/100 Went down to Kilani bakery for the first time today and was greeted by Tina. She was really nice and let us know that the Brownies come sold in a bunch or a single slice is about $.55. I thought great as I didn't want a whole brownie. Imagine that about 3 slices make up a decent sized brownie so in the scheme of things not that expensive. We got two and I shared one with my son. After eating my first bite I thought it was okay. I usually like the brownies that are rich and gooey with chocolaty goodness. These are more like light and chewy. Nothing wrong with that, but not by type of brownie. They aren't bad at all, just not for me. So the good news is we went back in and got those donuts on a stick and a guava cream cheese strudel. There were about 6 huge donut holes on a stick and I tried one. They were okay as well, but I like them with more glazed donut type of icing. Again they weren't bad, but not my cup of tea. I then decided to try the guava cream cheese strudel. Now I really liked that and it tasted great. I was too full to try anything else but they had some other good looking bearclaws in the case that I would like to try again another day. The one thing I like about this bakery is it reminds me of Liliha's original location back in the day with that old school feel. I like all those toys and knick knacks on the outside of the store too. It just reminds me of going into those old school bakeries like Kapiolani Bakery (miss that place). Overall, thank you Tina and the other gal at Kilani Bakery. You guys were so very nice and welcoming with your Aloha spirit. We'll be back!

I was looking for that old school donut (Craig's Bakery...Kens Bakery) and I'm still on the search. I found that old memory in the long john here, that tasty custard and they didn't hold back on that yummy creaminess, but alas, the childhood memory in the glaze donut was not achieved here this morning. The glaze was tasty and adequate, but the donut was a little dry for my liking. It still satisfied that sweet crave and I did not regret the beautiful Sunday morning drive for these sugary treats with my Sweety...no regrets at all.

Been searching for the best eclair and have finally found it! Chocolate, pasty shell, and custard are of perfect proportions, and the taste is bomb. Other notable delectables include the brownies and chantilly cake. Gotta try it to know what I'm talking about if you haven't already done so. Next time you're in the area, make sure to swing by and treat yourself to some ono desserts!

Went by round 11 one day an there was nothing left they weren't even going to make more that day WTF how can you be open all day with NOTHING! !!! AND brownies everyone rants about were dry an gross and no option without nuts in them which sucks for ppl allergic. ... hopefully next time they make better stock.

The best brownies you didn't make yourself. These brownies are the only Bakery bought brownies I'd eat or recommend. No way you can eat just one. Almost better than baking brownies yourself.

Can't really give much of a review since they had almost nothing to sell. Came to the bakery around 1pm. Almost all of the display cases were empty except for some brownies. Decided what the hell I'm here..I'll just have some brownies..but wait...there's a $10 minimum to use my card.....forget it.

Saw the reviews on Yelp and thought why not? First impression not that great. First off I was not greeted. No feedback on what to try either. Rather she tended the the person who came in after me. Anyhow we ordered the donut on a stick and a box of brownies. Donut stick was a little hard and not very tasteful at all. More like a week old piece of bread. The brownies were good but I've had better. Oh and the brownies were almost $10 after tax! I won't be back. I'll stick to making my own treats.

Kilani Bakery what can I say but I am so glad I found this place. Very old school and easily over looked on Kilani Ave. Not fancy at all, in fact quite plain......nothing to look at but great baked goods. When ever we are in the area or on a road trip this is a must stop. Based on what my wife calls the best pie she has EVER had in her life............... the Lemon Meringue Pie. She has had a lot of pies in her lifetime and she just goes bonkers over this pie. There is something special about what they do with the pie. The Meringue is light fluffy and keeps its shape. The main event is the filling that is sweet, tart and the consistency of the filling is really nice. From the time we open the box and cut the first slice to the acting like we both don't want the last slice, we are in pure bliss. Everyone talks about the brownies and it was just ok to us but for sure the Meringue and the Chantilly are true knock out winners! I have turned on several townies to this place and I am going to push the bakery for commission because the rest of the crack heads flock out to get the luscious lemony pie! Don't go because I know you wouldn't like it because they are selling out earlier and earlier now.

Once upon a time there was this foodie who was on his to Sunnyside Bakery to buy some Chocolate Cream Pie. Then on the way there at the corner of his eye was a place called Kilani Bakery. So he decided to give Kilani Bakery a try and the lady said the BROWNIES are the reason why. After one bite of the BROWNIES the lady told me to buy, i'll never look at BROWNIES the same way because they were so GOOD and TASTY and definitely so FLY!!! THE END......

All I have to say is brownies brownies brownies and butter rolls!!! Oh so delicious!!! The staff is friendly and always nice!! It's always a great treat to get when I go to wahiawa!! Must go there and try it!! Although they do sell other pastries I always just go for those two!!

Really delicious Chantilly or Dobash cakes, but if you want it decorated you need to order three days in advance and ask for it to be decorated. Really annoying and upsetting if you don't know this strange fact. It'll taste good but it'll look blank, so plan ahead! I personally think this is ridiculous so I maybe shouldn't be writing a review right now since I'm still pissed. Ugh. Can't deny that this bakery is delicious, though.

I was at the North Shore and was craving cucpakes but after searching "cupcake" the only thing that came up with Kilani Bakery. It had rave reviews about their brownies and I'm always looking for new places to try out, so my bf and I figured, why not. Lets check it out. It was a hole in the wall, and at first I was worried since I didn't see any brownies, but alas the brownies were packaged in a small white bag in the center case. 4 for $6. My bf asked the lady at the counter if the brownies were good and she replied with a confident, "You'll come back for the brownies, guaranteed" We walked out the door with high expectations.. These high expectations were met because the brownies were so good! They are pretty light for a brownie but have such a rich chocolate taste. They have nuts mixed in it, and powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Yum!

Found this place on yelp because the place that I ate at in the neighborhood did not have any desserts. I always have to complete my meal with a dessert. This bakery didn't have there shelves fully stocked with different items. It was half filled with a few items. So based on the reviews I tried the brownie. My husband and my son enjoyed them. Since they are cut into three pieces they are easy to eat. There were moist, chewy, topped with powdered sugar, and it had nuts inside. It was alright for me. yelp.com/biz_photos/ZENZ… My husband got the donuts on a stick. Which it is what is it is, nothing spectacular. I guess it's on the stick so you won't get your fingers dirty. yelp.com/biz_photos/ZENZ… I tried the cookies which I didn't really care much for. I bought it just because it had a sticker on that stated, "51 years of excellence." So I thought this was some special cookie. yelp.com/biz_photos/ZENZ… But what I really, really , really, liked was the chantilly cupcake. It was huge! Based on this alone I would give it 5 stars. When I bit into it, chantilly started to ooze out of the middle. I usually share with my husband when my taste buds start having a party. But it was just too good to share. I know how selfish of me. I knew we would be in the area in a few days so I just kept on talking about it, in hopes that we would stop by the bakery again. When we did stop by the bakery they were sold out of it. "Sigh" This was a little before lunch. They had other types of cupcakes but I had my taste buds set on that one. I guess I would call before you make the trip here. Once they are sold out they are sold out! yelp.com/biz_photos/ZENZ… ? select=MkyEix7mh7hsuqU5fq-asg If you have $3.00, definitely try the chantilly cupcake!

If you were ever gonna cheat on a diet.... This is the place to do it. Because, if you gonna gain back some weight that took so much hard work to loose. YOU BETTA DO IT GOOD!!! Dont waste your time with Kit-Kats, ice cream, or chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Go to Kilani Bakery and get either the Chocolate Dobash Deluxe Cake (deluxe means there is custard in the middle) or the Chantily Cake. OMG!!! Winnahs. Then top it off with their unbelievably delicious BROWNIES!(if there is any left) and down it all with some milk. Warning: You may not want to stop at just one. Good Luck! You gonna need it. haha

Stopped by on the way back to Town from the North Shore to buy some of their famous brownies. Saw a lemon meringue pie that looked so delicious I had to buy one. Was I glad I did. When we ate it it was the best ever. The crust was crisp. The lemon curd so lemony. And the meringue was awesome. You'd better put in a order if you want one or you might be disappointed when they run out.

This is hands down the best brownie on the island. I usually don't like nuts in the brownies, but this one is an exception. Whenever I go over to the other side of the island, I have to stop by and get a bag. Remember, the bag and container have the same amount.... but the bag is cheaper!

We use to live in Wahiawa just up the street from the park and bakery. Everyday we would see the sign "Kilani Bakery" and had always peaked my interest for a visit. One day we were craving donuts. I usually go to Regal Bakery, not just because I use to work there, but because they made me reaaallly love donuts. Anyways, Regal Bakery was closed so we decided to see what Kilani Bakery had to offer. We grabbed some bear claws, glazed donuts, choco donuts, long johns, and buttermilk. Mmm, indeed, we were being fatty's that day. Had I known the brownies and pies were great I would've tried to get those but I didn't read reviews prior to visiting *sigh*. None of the donuts/pastries were good, my husband LOVES glazed, took a bite or two and decided he didn't want it. And he eats everything and anything donut. The bear claw wasn't anything special. The other donuts were overly sweet (I love chocolate but I tasted more sugar than chocolate). The only good pastry were the Long Johns. I love custard filled donuts but even the long johns had too much custard. I know some of you are asking "how can you have too much custard?!", I would've asked myself the same, but it was just too much. I ended up eating only half of it and throwing the rest away. I might try to go back to try out the brownies and meringue pie but how good is a bakery if it only has a couple of things that are worth purchasing? One star for the prices as I found them very affordable and another star for friendly service. Maybe I'll change my rating after I try a brownie or pie but for now two stars is all they get from me.

I love Kilani Bakery, but I have to admit that I'm biased. I grew up in Wahiawa and the goodies from this bakery bring back cherished childhood memories. My grandma would often pick up pastries from Kilani for our breakfast. I remember getting excited seeing that white box filled with goodness on the kitchen table. Now as an adult, this is where I go when I need "comfort food." My beloved dog recently passed away and I hadn't really eaten in a week. The first food craving I had was for Kilani's custard pie. Their custard is divine! And I got it when it was still warm. That was the first whole piece of anything that I had eaten... The husband also got me a bag of their brownies just for good measure. Other favorites besides their custard pie and brownies include their chantilly and dobash cakes, and the stick donut. Love, love, love this bakery.

I never really thought of buying brownies at a bakery, but the ones here are worth a try. It had started sprinkling, and we really needed a snack for the road. Just the right amount of moistness, the right amount of chewy. For a girl who doesn't like nuts, these ones certainly complemented the flavor. You can buy the brownies in a bag or in a box. Opt for the bag since it's the same number of brownies. You're just paying more for the packaging.

Been coming here since I was a child. It still looks exactly the same! The only difference is that the outside has been painted. This bakery has served our family with their goods for many years on occasions and even the out of the blue cravings! They have pretty much the same items as most local bakeries supply. Recently, I've noticed that the quality of the cakes and pies have gone down terribly! Ordered a few cakes like any other time. After cutting into it, I was shocked to see that it was severely lopsided and then filled with frosting so that it looked normal and evened out. So when it was eaten, there would be a sliver of cake with a half inch of frosting and the next piece vice versa! Whoever made this knew full well what was going on, they should've at least have given a significant discount! Also bought a few custard pies and it was burnt on the top! All the pies for the day was exactly the same. At least those were discounted! I had to purchase the pies because it was expected at a gathering. It didn't affect the taste with the pies too badly but I have never encountered such bad quality in all the years I've been there. Not sure if the baker has changed or it was an off day. I hope it was the latter because it will be such a disappointment to find elsewhere to go!

Awesome! Hey, its old school. Pass if you enjoy the teeth achingly sweet, sticky, gooey pastries or if you want pretty cake pops or bizarre cupcake concoctions. This old school holdout (50+ years in business) only makes outstanding mildly sweetened, fresh, bready pastries with restrained fillings, and light glazes where needed. Props to the incredible (non-gooey) brownies, stick donuts, and butter rolls. They also make outstanding, fresh baked breads (note; they don't use preservatives so the bread will get moldy quick). Go before 9am or the selection dwindles and just accept your eyes will be bigger than your stomach (There's nothing wrong with 12 items for two people right?)

This is just a review on Kilani's brownies. I've had the opportunity to have the brownies a couple of times. Mind you, I'm a box brownie-only eat the edges kind of girl. BUT .. I make the exception with these amazing confections of chocolaty splendor. For serious. They aren't dry, wet or overly sweet. They are a perfect balance of flavors and the walnuts just keep it coming. Powdered sugar? Totally classes them up. Also, the way they cut them .. really makes you feel like you're not being bad. It's small piece of brownie! How can they have any calories?!?! Totally worth the trip to Wahiawa. Best brownie. I highly recommend either picking them up yourself of finding yourself a friend who lives up that way and asking them in your sweetest-I'm-gonna-be-your-bestie-for-life voice to pick up a bag for you. Or two.

Small bakery on Kilani Avenue. I liked their Brownies. Interestingly I liked it so much better a couple of days after I had purchased. Right after we got them, we ate them in the car. we thought it was ok. Next time, I will try their famous Lemon Meringue.

*Aaaaaaaahhhhhh* - Do you hear the Chantilly angels singing?? I was craving Chantilly cake. I had posted it on Twitter and my friend replied and suggested I try Kilani Bakery. So I got on my Yelp app and looked it up. Ventured my way into Wahiawa and found it... initially I got into the wrong parking lot. I got excited.. a bit premature turning. I ended up picking up a Chantilly cake for me, a whole cake because they don't sell them by the slice. Can you believe that?! and I got some of that what they're known for brownies for my friends. I went straight home, sliced up the cake, but didn't have any because I was too busy licking the Chantilly off the knife and box after I had cut them up and separated them for sharing. (yes, fat girl status.) It was so good! So worth making that trek out for a Chantilly cake!

Kilani Bakery makes custard pie the only way that I will eat it. It's smooth and delicious. No eggy top or yucky after taste. My second favorite is their butter rolls. Nice soft and buttery. Their dobash & chantilly cakes are delicious and of course, everyone loves their brownies. Their window display is the same that I grew up with and I hope they keep it that way. I look forward to seeing Grover monster when I walk up.

Since they are famous for their brownies, I got three of them (55 cents each). Each brownie (I'd guess about half an inch in width and a few inches long) also gets dusted with some powdered sugar. A very light brownie, with the chocolate taking center stage. The powdered sugar gives a nice color contrast, but doesn't make this confection overly sweet. I liked the nuts in the brownie...more texture contrasts! In some respects, I thought the brownie was, well...maybe too light. If the brownies were a bit richer, they would actually come close to satisfying my appetite without having me scarf down about a dozen of these. But hey, people love them, so don't change it, right? Check out Kilani Bakery and get some brownies ASAP!

Ok, if you seriously want a taste of some OLD school pastry goodness you have to go here. Straight. Go here. Stat. Everybody RAVES about the brownies and guess what, it is good, but you gotta try the stick donut, bread pudding, and the glazed donut. The brownies is everything everyone else says, chocolate, nutty, powdered sugar, and more dense than cakey (if that makes any sense at all). Plus they are made into small, somewhat bite sized rectangles so you can say stuff like "well, it was pretty much bite sized so I ate 3". The stick donut is made JUST right, moist on the inside and just enough cinnamon to give it a little kick and crispy on the outside. GOOD, nuff said. The bread pudding, is just good. Not to runny, not too many raisins, not too cinnamon-ish....I dunno, just go try it and tell me that I was right and it was good... Anyways, go check this place out, if you blink you may pass it so keep your eyes open! 027/365 yelp challenge, whoop whoop

After reading all of the reviews saying how they have the best brownies, I knew we had to go since my hubby loves brownies. While trying to waste gas to ship our car, we found ourselves in Wahiawa and decided to make a trip to Kilani. When we came in they had hardly anything in their cases. We wouldn't be trying anything else, oh well. We got a bag of them and realized they have nuts in them, all of the brownies do. My husband doesn't care for nuts, especially in pastries. At first taste, they are good, but not great. They aren't too sweet which is nice, the powder sugar can make a mess if you aren't careful. They are also quite dense, the weight of these 4 brownies shocked us as we picked them up. I have definitely had better though. The nuts were soft so my husband didn't mind them too much. We would not make the trip out there for these. My husband even said, "if these are the best brownies on the island, it's a good thing we are moving". The Ghirardelli box mix is exponentially better.

Absolutely loved the chantilly cake I ordered upon recommendations on this site! Frosting was delicious and not too rich, same with the cake. Not dense, light and fluffily and perfect. Wish I had ordered more to eat today. As for the brownies, I'm not too impressed. Sure, they're yummy, but not more than what I can make with a box mix at home. There are nuts in them too, FYI. But....I def like this bakery :)

My husband and I decided to spend our Sunday by going on a drive around the island. We made our way to the windward side, drove up to the north shore, drove through Haleiwa and finally make a stop in Wahiawa before heading home. As we drove through Wahiawa, we decided to stop by Kilani Bakery which is known for their delicious brownies. This bakery is located at 704 Kilani Avenue which is nearby the Wahiawa General Hospital. When we arrived we were surprised they had a full pan of brownies along with assorted donuts, pastries and custard pies. Since we both like our sweets, we decided to try their glazed donuts and of course buy their famous brownies. What makes their brownies so good is that it is fresh, very light, not too sweet and it is more like a cake brownie with all the goodness of chocolate and topped with generous sprinkling of powdered sugar. Yum! The glazed donuts, however, was disappointing in that it was very dry, chewy and pretty bland. Unfortunately the icing did not help add any taste to the donuts. It was far from a fluffy, light and sugary donut I was hoping for. Although this bakery is a far drive, I highly recommend their brownies and not their glazed donuts.

Small town deliciousness! The staff is friendly and they greet you by name. Their chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is my favorite. I know there are many other bakeries out there but Kilani Bakery is by far my favorite for cakes, pies and brownies.

Located in Wahiawa on Kilani Ave... perfect after you go to the post office early in the AM. Exit the post office to the right and BAM... yummy pastries are a few feet away. As Rod U. stated... an old school bakery that keeps it simple yet tasty. Famous for their brownies!!!; not overly sweet, not too mushy, not dried out, and the powdered sugar is a nice touch. DELISH! They also sell cake doughnuts, stick doughnuts, bread pudding, glazed doughnuts, chantilly cake, among a variety of other decadent pastries. Prices are comparable to other bakeries. Staff is friendly and there is a small parking lot but you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. The staff is efficient and you'll be in and out (so long as you know what to order) Give em a try!

These brownies are so delicious. I left my dentist appointment and went straight to Kilani's. So darn tasty!!! Thank you so much to my fellow yelpers for suggesting this place. I lived here for 3 years and this is my first time coming here. Definitely not the last!!! Yes the brownies are small but you know what if you eat the whole back like I almost did, you get as full and happy as you would if you ate a regular sized brownie. The malasadas are pretty tasty as well. I will be back to try some of the other treats they sell.

Finally got to visit this small miracle yesterday since i finally got the day off and child, i was not dissappointed!! Its a small bakery, about the size of Liliha Bakery if you cut out the restaurant area. Nice staff but the most was almost empty when we got there at 11am. i got the Guava strudel and my husband got the chocolate center doughnut. I was so in love with the guava!!! im almost mad that i didnt buy more but truth is, we ate breakfast at Koa pancake litterally 10mins before stopping in. The only gripe i had was nothing had a price. I rather pay with cash although they do take card. its a psychological thing. I added on a baggie-o-brownies and my $2 doughnuts skyrocketed to $9 with brownies. que lastima. Worth it though, just would expected to have weed in my chocolate squares for $7 (4pcs). Designated parking is available on the side, i counted 5 stalls? but they are super quick so even though it can get crowded, dont expect to wait long.

brownies are cut up into narrow strips and so dry and stale. They taste like week old brownies. brownies should be moist and chewy. Not to mention these things are way overpriced!! better off making your own using a duncan hines mix. seriously

We always get the brownies (in the bag, not the container). They were great, even a couple days later!

Went at about 4 p.m, not surprisingly nearly everything was gone. Had two decorated chocolate cupcakes. I don't even know what theme it was. It tasted like cardboard! It was so old, so dry that I had to drink milk with it to get it down. It was crumbly old. I think it was at least 2 days old because no way can one day old pasteries taste like that. I took 2 bites and dumped it and told my mom to just throw it away. Frosting was tasteless - just whipped up sugar water and threw that away immediately. The one star is the for the 'french' bread I bought. Now that was FRESH and soft. But it was not the typical french bread, it was what was popular a couple of years ago, 'okole' bread, shaped like, well, an okole. Two nice round plump okoles at that :D It didn't have any flavor but points for the freshness and softness. It tasted just likes Love's bread but so squishy soft and tender. Overall if their dry wall cupcakes is like the rest of their food, I'm not going back. Maybe you gotta grow up with that kinda taste.

The brownies are always superb, but it's the service that sucks! They need to get people who can clearly understand English and follow directions. I phone ordered 8 dozen brownies for a trip to the mainland and distinctly told the woman that I wanted them in individual bags by the dozen. I asked her how much bags can I fit in a small box? She replied 4 so, I told her that I wanted 8 dozen. When I got there to pick them up, I asked the woman if they were in the individual bags and she said, "Yes." I flew out the next day only to find on my arrival that the 8 dozen I bought were ALL IN THE BOX AND STALE FROM THE OPEN AIR! I was pissed! I told her I wanted them in the small individual bags by the dozen! Now, I'm not able to give my friends individual bags, but only a STALE piece here and there! What an inconvenience and how irritating that I wasted nearly $60 due to someone's ignorance!

I love their brownies cut into small strips just right to bite into and moist goodness. Other items like Long Johns doughnuts and every thing is also good no complaints here Yum! it's always all gone! I'd say they have more than enough parking in their small parking lot to handle the traffic that comes by. I would go there for breakfast except I work in town :-( dang!

Thanks for employing a Kilani family member to run the register and "Supervise"!!! Before this, the regular employees would talk in another language being rude, munching on pastry etc. I actually stopped going here for a while because I ordered a birthday cake and when I picked it up it was PLAIN white, NO DECORATION AT ALL! Not even a border! Just a flat white square!!! No joke! The employee told me "you hab to ask por dat one when you order"...excuse me? Don't all cakes have a decoration or a border?? Who the heck would order a birthday cake With no decoration or frilly border at least? Anyway, thank you Kilani for having your family member stand guard to keep the employees in check. The pastry, pies, cakes are always good. Been coming here for over 35 years!

Made my Wahiawa General Hospital customers very happy today when I brought them the famous Kilani Bakery brownies today. Never would have thought to stop in had it not been for Yelp but I have yet to be steered wrong by a great Yelp review. The brownies were delightful--moist, fudgy with nuts, and dusted with confectioner's sugar. I bought a dozen for about $6. Yes, they are small but the perfect size for just a little treat without feeling too guilty-- that is if you only have one or two. Hoping the fiancee takes the rest to work with him tomorrow or I'll have to hit the gym extra hard if those stay in the house! Parking was easy, staff was friendly, and my customers were thrilled. Great find in Wahiawa!

Growing up in town, brownies from a bakery are normal.. Then, I heard about Kilani bakery brownies.. and I thought.. What's so special about it?? I can get the same from the bakeries in town.. Until I moved to Wahiawa.. Now, when I think brownies.. I think Kilani Bakery. You just won't find it anywhere like this.. Not even the ones in town..

Okay people...here's the deal; Kilani Bakery is one of the wonders of the island to many locals. Especially those of us from Wahiawa. When you love something, you share it. If someone thinks enough of you to HONOR you with a hometown specialty, you don't go talk smack about it. Geez. As for Caitlin..Girl, you need a hug. The fact is, Kilani is our little hometown bakery. You made a comment that you were "trying to waste gas to ship our car" which means, you've been in Hawai'i for awhile and only NOW, when you're going to leave you decide to try a little homeown place? Nice job trying to get to know O'ahu. You probably have many hometown places in, where is it that you're from, Michigan? Places that you love and you share with friends and family. Here's another thing; you said you read all the reviews and decided to go there. Well, doesn't that tell you that maybe YOU are the odd man out? If you don't like nuts, and you see nuts, why the hell are you buying the brownies? Just so you can come on line and bitch about it? And oh yeah, you're gonna base that "it's a good thing we are moving" on one bite of a brownie? If that's what you think about Hawai'i, then we're glad you're moving too. Don't let the Aloha hit you on da okole on your way out. Enjoy your exponentially better boxed brownies wherever you came from. Good Lord. Two tips for you non-locals: 1. If you're going to Kilani, GO EARLY. This isn't rocket science. Auwe! It's a BAKERY. People get up at 2 and 3 am there to start baking. If you don't get there early, you're gonna get slim pickins or NO pickins. Duh. 2. If you are a visitor to Hawai'i and someone local tells you about Kilani (or any other little "locals only secret sweet spot", then they must think highly of you and want to share something that is special to them. Don't be an asshat "tourist" and put it down. Just because it isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean it's crap. Then again, if you don't like it, that's okay too. More for us.

Back when I was younger and enrolled in the dance school that was located in the Purple Castle (If you lived in Wahiawa your entire life you know what building I'm talking about), there wasn't a week I didn't stop by this bakery for their brownies. Nothing else really grasps my memory well than their brownies here. That's all I remember from this place, and every time I'm in Wahiawa and am craving for some sort of bake good, Kilani Bakery is the place to go! ... Now I'm craving more brownies...

Kilani Bakery is a landmark of WAHIAWA. The brownies, hot roll (pandesal), long john and custard pie are my favorites. Whenever I need comfort food this is where I would go. No one can duplicate it.. but if someone does find out their recipes please let me know. Stick doughnut is also a favorite. There's nothing bad to say about this place. The workers have been there like forever since I was a child. I always make it a point to visit here everyday when I'm in Hawaii... What's funny too is if you're from Wahiawa you're bound to see old friends...

The only reason I don't give Kilani Bakery 5 full stars is because I don't really care for their donuts. The cake donuts are a little chewy and oily for my taste, but I WILL tell you what makes them the best bakery we've been to on the island! They have AMAZING danishes and turnovers...man, the TURNOVERS. My favorite is blueberry, but they also make apple and cherry. They also have the BEST butter dinner rolls. We've bought a couple of bags and usually eat through the whole thing in a couple of days. They go great with hearty dishes like stews and we've even cut them in half and used them as buns for sliders...awesome! We haven't tried their fresh french loaves yet, but they look delicious. Love that they're open super early, too, so I can get something sweet on the way to work in the morning sometimes. Love our little bakery here in Wahiawa :)

The best brownies & chantilly cake on the island! I prefer their chantilly cake over Liliha's (although I'll gladly eat Liliha's as well). As a kid I used to always get their glazed donut holes... not glazed donuts... glazed donut HOLES. What kid wouldn't love donut holes?? I love this place so much that anytime I know I'll be in Wahiawa, I start thinking of reasons to buy a Chantilly Cake (which is about $16). If I can't think of a reason then I go anyways and buy their brownies. If you want to buy a chantilly cake, you should call before and order just in case. Oh and someone wrote that the bag of brownies is $8... but it's not. A bag of brownies is $6.03 including taxes. A box of brownies (which has the same amount of brownies inside) is $6.81 including taxes. And like the other reviewer said, it is cut into strips, but it's not as small as it seems. The brownies are denser so I prefer them being cut that way. They're sprinkled with sugar and they have walnuts inside. I usually hate nuts, but somehow Kilani makes them delicious! And their hours are ridiculous! 4:30am - 6:30pm EVERYDAY!

Was a little early for an appointment so I decided to stop by a bakery as it was on the way. I didn't know what to get so I got an apple turnover as I figured you can't go wrong with that. But then I noticed the person before and after me both got the brownies. So I picked up a bag. I got to say those are the best brownies I ever bought!!! Then why only 4 stars...its a little pricey, and I make um better. But hey, if I'm ever too lazy to make brownies, I know where to go. (The apple turnovers was alright, but Zippy's and definately my sister makes it way better)

Love this bakery. It's been my favorite since I was a kid growing up in Hawaii. My favorite birthday cake was the dream cake. My favorite doughnut was the doughnut holes and I also love their brownies. Every time I go back home I gotta make a stop here and grab my doughnut holes and brownies. mmmm......onolicious!!!

  • J A.

Only got a chance to taste their brownies. I honestly have never heard of this bakery prior to being gifted a package of brownies. The brownies are soft, nutty, and covered with powdered sugar. They are also cut into thirds which is something I appreciate. Sometimes you don't want to eat an entire brownie and just want a small taste of sweetness, ya know? I'll make my way up there soon to try other goodies such as their chantilly cake and doughnuts.

Awesome Lemon Meringue Pie, too!! I have always loved LM pie and have tried it everywhere I go when possible. This one is no doubt, THE BEST.

I called ahead and placed an order for one bag of brownies.....I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but the brownies are ridiculously expensive!!!! $8 for a bag of 4 brownies cut into strips. I was thoroughly disappointed. Although, I really did like the cute packaging with the bow and nice cellophane paper. The brownies were moist and were just the right amount of chewy and softness. Mixed inside were some I think macadamia nuts and sprinkled on top confectioner's sugar. All in all, I felt I could've made this with my Pillsbury brownie mix. 0___0 Gosh, I hate being the reaper of bad news. But HEY!? The brownie mix is only $5 and you can make a WHOLE TRAY! The secret for moist brownies is a couple tsps of Olive oil. Also, when you stick the toothpick in do not wait for it to come out clean, take it out earlier than the box suggests. Just sprinkle inside some mac nuts into the batter and confec. sugar when done. Then you got yourself some warm, homemade brownies. Way better than any bakery. Hope this helps ^____^

Their brownies are to die for. I've been living away from home for going on 6 years now and I CRAVE their brownies. Like everything, everywhere, prices keep going up. But when I come home, I never fail to stop by Kilani Bakery and buy donuts and brownies like I did growing up. This past Christmas I wasn't able to make it home for the holidays and my mom asked me what I wanted and one of the items was Kilani Bakery brownies. I shared it with a few friends here in Alaska and they had the same reaction I have everytime I bite into their brownies. Heaven! Absolute heaven. Don't pass Kilani Bakery up. See you in May Kilani Bakery ;)

  • Reid Y.

I love the brownies! Chocolatety and chewy with the perfect amount of nuts. But, I also love the long john. There's something about their custard filling that sets Kilani's long john apart from other bakeries. It's like they crammed a custard pie right into it! There are many other baked goods I could talk about - the custard pie, apple turnover, dobash cake, but you'll have to try those for yourself.

My cousin bought me some of these well known brownies but I wasn't amazed. I guess it's probably because I'm use to eating the boxed brownies which I think taste much better. These brownies seem like the healthier version of brownie. These brownies seem to be missing something.....

OK for a bakery I bought bag of cookies. The cookies where burned on the bottom of them, and I bought one bear claw. All this was $ 7.05 which I thought was a little spendy. I ended up thowing everything away.

Since I was getting lunch nearby I made this a must stop to try their "famous" brownies that everyone has been raving about. I bought a couple brownies for 52 cents each (with tax). They come in skinny little sticks so that was a nice change from your usual square brownies. Theres nuts in it that add a nice crunch and topped with powdered sugar. The brownie is good but not blow my mouth amazing, Its chewy and fudge-y like and not too sweet so thats always nice. I'm def going to have to come back here to try their other baked goods, esp their long john mmm.

Townies and visitors, Wahiawa is not just any old town on the way to the North Shore. Its home to some pretty solid grinds. Turn right off the main avenue, venture into Kilani Bakery, home to AMAZING brownies. Dense but not too heavy, moist, but not too crumbly. Already pre-cut into bite size rectangles making it easy to pass around the car for snacks for the road trip to North Shore. Sprinkled with white powdered sugar, and walnuts embedded within (I think its walnuts, I ate mine too fast). In little plastic bags with twist ties, get there early! Maybe I shouldn't share but I was feeling generous today. haha. Don't underestimate the ono-ness of Wahiawa goodness!

I've been going to Kilani Bakery in Wahiawa ever since I was a little girl. For such a small bakery, they sure turn out tons of great baked goodies. The chantilly cake (chocolate cake with a caramel-like filling and frosting and topped with macadamia nuts) is so moist and so good. We used to buy one for every special occasion. Their brownies are absolutely mouth-watering and usually sell out before mid-afternoon. And my personal fave are the butter danishes which are so flaky but not dry and melts in your mouth. Broke 'da Mout!!!

If you're craving something sweet, Kilani Bakery in Wahiawa is the place to go. They have so many scrumptious sweets. I love their moist, nutty, chocolatey brownies. They have the best brownies on the island! My other favorites are the Okinawan sweet potato turnovers (light, flaky crust with a sweet potato filling), Lemon Meringue pie, custard danish (made with real custard, not a cream filling), and bread pudding. Finally, their chocolate pie is my favorite! I love the rich chocolate pudding on the light, flaky crust. Delicious! Kilani Bakery has been around for over 50 years. With products like these, it's no surprise.

Kilani Bakery brownies have been my favorite for over 25 years. Soooo ono! I live on the mainland now, but my dad is the best and still sends regular shipments of these brownies so I'm never without! One time I came home and they changed the recipe or messed up or something - subtle but could tell and they weren't as good! But, all better now - WHEW! As for the other desserts...hmm, never did think to even try them!
