I'm honestly giving this place four stars. Although it may not look the best in there, the food is actually great. I've been coming here since I was a child , and I've never had a bad experience yet. It's your typical Chinese takeout, they sell pints of pretty much anything, they cater, and sell pork hash , gau gee that is huge and to die for, almond cookies, rice cakes and bags of sour belts, bubble gum balls, gummy bears and other candies. The food they have sits in heaters so it's pretty much one of those you pick what you want on your plate. I always get either chow mein/ chow fun, half fried rice. Lemon chicken from there is really good, the beef broccoli as well. I also recommend their chow mein, it's pretty good also. I also recommend the oyster sauce chicken, the skin is crispy and sauce is very tasty, pot roast pork and sweet and sour pork is always another good option. I honesty have never had a bad experience coming here & I always look forward to coming back.

One star is too much! I walk by here and rarely eat here so I have opted to not review until now. Look in the window, the draw is always the roast pork, charsiu, duck, chicken. tried them all, all pretty dry at one time or another. NOT IMPRESSED. Walk in the door, this place is FILTHY!. Bad lighting, boxes stacked all over, overall pretty cluttered. The takeout stuff looks like it sits in the warmers for HOURS, and based on the food poisoning I had that lasted 15 hours + with prescription meds for such conditions, I will NOT go back, EVER! My wife picked up an order of Kau Yuk and an order of Chow Funn and put them in the fridge. (we are two minutes from the restaurant by foot) When I got around to eating it it tasted odd but I ate it anyway. I ate three pieces of Kau Yuk and maybe a 1/4 of the order of Chow Funn... not a 1/2 hour later my stomach was churning. There are far better places to eat at Wahiawa Town Center, or Wahiawa in general. Try the other place on California Ave where everything is made fresh and not kept in warming pans. I love this place!! It brings up old childhood memories growing up in wahiawa. I'm amazed thus place is still around but I'm glad it is because they have the best rice cake. They have an awesome pupu platter for only 23 bucks and the best crab cream cheese puffs. You get 9 for 8 bucks. Yummy!! Never tried any of the lunch plates so maybe that's why it has a low rating. Oh well I love it!

There are much better places to eat than this place. I advise you to save your time and money, go to a better place.

Goodfriend is located in the Wahiawa Town Center, the same shopping center with Longs. My husband really likes this place and comes here kind of often. Although this isn't the absolute best Chinese I've ever eaten, it satisfies my craving. They have hot noodles that you can order or you can pick your choices from a pre-made selection. They have all the standards like beef broccoli, lemon chicken, sweet & sour pork, etc. I usually get the beef broccoli. Husband likes the pot roast pork. Sometimes they also have rice cake and almond cookies. Party pans are also available for order. Prices are pretty decent. Staff is pretty friendly and service is quick and efficient. Lots of parking in the lot outside and there are a few tables if you want to dine in, but you don't get any wait service.

i recently went here randomly with my co-worker after doing a demonstration for work at Long Drugs next door. The restaurant is located in between two other plate lunch places, one Korean BBQ place, and the other some kind generic local mixed plate lunch kine place. After eating here, I regret spending/wasting my 10 bucks over here for real. I already knew this was going to be a downer once I stepped into the restaurant and just by looking at the food. I figure I just chance it anyway. I got the 2 choice plate lunch to go. They call it the "Sliver plate." I guess they secret code word their plate combinations. I got it with fried rice, beef broccoli, and tofu eggplant. The plate lunch silver plate 2 choices was about 7 bucks. I also got an Arizona Ice Tea for $1.75. Everything was a disappointment. The fried rice was just aight. The tofu eggplant is super sour and somewhat salty. The beef and broccoli was the same. I ate the whole thing because I was damn hungry but was dreading it the whole time, unfortunately. The staff and customer service is good though. Their taste and quality of food needs major improvement. The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant is your typical local kine plate lunch local food establishment. I thought the price is way too high for the quality of food that they present. I also laugh at the name of the restaurant. I like how these places call themselves "Goodfriend." However, pretty unique and different I give them that much. The portions of the food were aight.

Do not under any circumstances expect the workers at Goodfriend Chinese Kitchen to realize that their buffet food (that sits there all day long) has gone bad/is dried up/smells funny, etc. They obviously don't care. Yelp365-#009/365

Used to go here when I needed a Chinese food fix. It was cheap enough and the portions were good. Now for some reason they charge you EXTRA if you order a dish that has a lot of veggies in it. I thought it was a fluke so went back a week later. Veggie dishes still cost extra. Haven't been back since.

Wish I could give minus stars! Ordered take out the special chicken in oyster sauce with cake noodle. While eating it found inch long roach. Went back next day to talk to manager. He said where your proof. I mean really!?!? I suppose I should have taken a photo but was so grossed out I immediately dumped it. Do Not Eat here bad customer service and roaches in your food! . NASTY yuck!!

Your average Chinese place. I don't care for it much but my boyfriend likes it. The chow fun is decent and he loves the lemon chicken and oyster sauce chicken. The duck is okay. They do have some awesome crab wontons that you MUST try! Service has been fast and friendly all the times we've come.
