Tasty Korean BBQ Menu

Its okay, no greeting and too many workers behind the counter.

Not sure what happened but been going here for many years and was always satisfied. Went to get tofu soup with the vegetables. When I took the vegetable plate out I thought there wasn't anything inside (was super light). I did notice all the workers were new so maybe they were trained to give super little. What happened to the old timers that use to load the vegetables

This place takes too many short cuts. The amount of food per serving is getting less and less while the prices go up. Also, they do not give out any sauces unless you order it. Example, I ordered Meat Jun and Chicken Katsu and they did not give any shoyu or hot sauce with the meat jun nor any Katsu sauce with the chicken Katsu. This was a take out order and I didn't realize till I got home. Very irritating. I also didn't get any utensils or napkins. The next visit I asked why my last order didn't have any sauces, they said it needs to be ordered specifically.....really? This time I orders just meat jun and specifically ordered hot sauce and shoyu. When picking up the order which they tied the bag in a knot, I double checked again if there was sauces in the plate, "yes" said the old Korean lady but when I got home, no sauces, forks, knives or napkins. If you're in Mililani, just go next door to a real Korean restaurant that treats their customers well.

I rarely come here, when I do it's because of work and I have time to dine in or take out. I either get the BBQ Beef, but today I got the Bi Bim Kook Soo (sp) and side Mandoo. Flavor wise, it was weak. Not as flavorful as Yummys Dillingham. Their beef is dry, not wet. And the B.B.K.S. was bland. Anyways, I ate all my food, but flavor wise, was kind of low. I will definitely smash on their tempura - pancake looking side.

I like their fish jun, bbq beef and meat jun plates. I like that you can opt to get 3 choices of banchan with the mini instead of rice. The sides are good too, I love the shoyu honey potato, the mac salad, jap chae, all the veggies are pretty good, the vegetable pancake or tempura thing is yummy also. Minus one star cause when I ate my leftovers the next day my tofu was spoiled. I know tofu spoils fast, but that's too fast! Still though this place is great for Korean take-out. You Hawaii people are lucky, we don't have a Korean plate lunch place where they display all the sides behind a window and you can pick. Also it is hard to find meat jun in Los Angeles (the Korean spot at Burbank Town Center has it tho). The juns here are yummy and so are the sides! :)

The best meat-jun ever. I've been coming here since moving to Mililani in 2002. There's something about the sauce that makes the meat-jun pop in yo mouff, lol!

A rip off. Owner is cheap and doesnt treat customers with respect. Her name is June or some other Korean name (Oni) or something like that. Ordered soup twice over two days . First day, the kitchen either put in cucumber or put in zuchinni that was not cooked. It was hard and crunchy. Second day, didnt have any zuchinni in the soup. I called the owner. She would not replace the order. Said I was lying and did not believe me. Told me that she didnt see the food so wont replace. Oh well. Becareful and check your food. Be cautions of this restaurant.

Tasty's is conveniently located near by... but it's definitely not my first, or second, or third choice for Korean food. The meat is 'tasty'... lol pun intended, but the sides don't seem to have much flavor. The staff is always changing, and some are more friendly than others. I usually pick up food here for my brother (he loves it!) but I don't dine here. Prices are comparable to other fast food Korean places.

They don't even deserve one star! I found fly eggs in my BBQ chicken plate! WTF?! They'll be hearing from sanitation inspectors very soon!

Love it! We eat there at least every other week or more. Never dissappinted! Food is expensive, cash only but it is okay! Always a treat!

  • Rebekah D.

Meat Jun is our all time favorite here. Also you have to come early if you want the Korean glass noodles (chap chae) as a side! I'd rather have there meat jun then Dong Yang's, at least this place is cleaner!!

    (5)
  • Jasmine R.

Haven't experienced fly eggs in my food but while eating in the restaurant, I witnessed a lady from the back ask someone in the front to pass them a fly swatter. Why would a lady in the back ask someone for a fly swatter???? Obviously there are flies in the back. Or why would there be a fly swatter at all in the restaurant??? When I saw that, I wasted my almost $15 plate which was more than half full and walked out. I dont plan on returning and neither should anyone else. This place is disgusting!!! I don't know how they passed their safety inspection. In my opinion they need to be looked at again and hopefully this time, they get shut down for good.

The greatest korean food ever that I've tried I loove the vegetables, chicken Katsu, meat jun & fish Katsu.

  • Ezxiz U.

Korean Food is getting really expensive. ~$14 for a reg. plate & ~$9 for a mini plate. reminds me of when the theaters prices were increasing. :( sad face! ...but not having to cook was good...and so was the food. ahhh...

    (3)
  • Niki N.

Prices are definitely much higher than the past few years. I don't really care for their meat jun, which is one of my favorite korean food. I usually just get a vegetable plate, but sometimes they run out if you go too late at night. Another downside is that it is cash only. With the prices that they offer don't you think they should take card too? That's just my opinion.

  • Amanda A.

It's similar to Yummy's...I mean come on, just look at the name. They operate pretty much the same way, order a plate and pick your sides. They had the same sides as most Korean BBQ's but the taste wasn't really there for me. I love the sweet potato but their potatoes were all broken and didn't have much flavor to me so I was a bit disappointed. I got the meat jun and chicken combo. The biggest upset for me, the chicken bone wasn't taken out. I've never came across BBQ chicken at a Korean place with the bone still in. Call me spoiled but it does make it a little harder to eat. The meat jun was alright, I've had better. The sauce was okay as well, tasted like straight up shoyu and sugar. If you're hungry it's an okay place to stop by but I'd rather go to Yummy's or some other Korean BBQ joint.

  • Nate A.

I love this place. In my teens, I would always come here to pig out. Even now, I still come here. Their Chapchae is to die for! I normally get the Chicken Katsu + Meat Jun combo or the Meat jun + Mandoo Combo. They already know me because I always ask for extra Gochujang sauce. :) Even though the prices have increased a little, I will always come here because of their huge portions for a regular. You can save it for tomorrow's lunch or split a plate with three people. If you plan on going around peak times I prefer that you call them ahead of time because sometimes they run out of side selections such as Chapchae (they have this other spaghetti type of noodles as a replacement). If you are planning a party and want to order from them they also have a menu list for catering. Don't forget they only use cash here. Overall: Friendly People, Can be busy time at peak hours, Onolicious food.

Though I'm pretty much a complete foreigner in the land of Mililani, I'm no stranger to fast food Korean...Tasty does it right! Hefty portions, reasonable prices (cash only!) and they are very generous with their banchan servings! I love seeing them pile the veggies in - seems to me this used to be a standard for this kind of fare but most of the other cheap and quickie K/food joints I've visited lately have been stingy. The veggies are what make me convince myself this 2lb + plate of meat and rice is justifiably healthy - 4 full servings of veggies! Everything i've tried here I'd order again- Meat jun (tender, flavorful, my standard with meat jun is it's good if you don't have to dip it in sauce for flavor. Tasty passes! Their meat jun is tasty as is :) BBQ chicken - huge pieces grilled perfectly Bi bim kook soo- a pretty perfect noodle dish, everything you want in a meal all mixed into a spicy sauce and again a very generous portion. If you're not swayed by everything else the Town Center has to offer, give them a try if you're craving simple quick and Tasty Korean! #36/365

My family comes here at least once a week. We never had any problems like we've been having the past 2 months. The first was when my sister found a hair in her food. Yuck! They don't even wear hats or hair nets when serving the sides or rice in the front. Second was when my sister and I observed them EATING in front of the food. That is absolutely disgusting. You shouldn't be eating by the food. The third time, my dad and sister got sick from eating their food. (Note: my family has been eating there every week and did not get sick before) my little sister said the inside of her chicken was a little pink and may have been sitting out because it didn't take long for the order to be done. The only reason this place gets 3 stars is because their food is good and they give good portions. Still debating whether they deserve another chance. . .

This has to be the STINGIEST Korean take-out barbeque restaurant I've ever visited! CASH ONLY and then they have the nerve to raise their prices on their mediocre food! As for STINGY: they don't even give 3 scoops rice-- barley 2 scoops if your lucky! Run out of jap jae / chap chae by 1pm daily and don't even make any more! Today our barbecue chicken wasn't even WARM! Yes, we made the mistake of eating during the slow time of day around 3pm, but PLEASE if the other Korean take-out places make EACH order FRESH, considering you RAISED your prices, isn't that the least you could do??!! My chicken tasted like it'd been sitting around in the kitchen since the lunch rush. $10.95 for a bbq chicken plate??!! What a joke! They got everyone's ball in a vice since the other Korean restaurant is sit down (Miliani BBQ, around the corner). I'm sick of the attitude of the smug, unfriendly manager/owner whose always there with her grim face. My gosh, you're MILKING everyone who goes there. We're not spending another dime there. Yes, we've eaten there on many previous occasions during the lunch and dinner rush when they go to the TROUBLE of making the food FRESH. Do yourself and STAY AWAY from this place during the "slow" times of day, or just stay away altogether! I'd give this place zero stars if I could. TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Bulgogi at Windward Mall and Kapolei Korean BBQ in the Safeway shopping center is way more generous and NICER!!!

  • Chantelle K.

Love this place! Alway come here for a quick plate lunch! My only complaint is that is usually come around 5pm and they always take the long rice noodles away before I get there! Those are my favorite but I think they have a time slot? I'm not sure. Other than that, this is my garrote Korean BBQ!! Recommend to everyone!

  • Kim T.

Food is good but not many choices for my sides. It was peak time for dinner and they already ran out of choices. Overall it is a great place to come for families. Everyone can customize their plate to what they want if they have it. ***FYI: for a kind of busy place they accept CASH ONLY***

  • Andrews G.

I absolutely love this place. Growing up in Hawaii and eating all the different types of food I got to say Korean is my favorite and this place is one of the best on the island. The price is kind perfect, you definitely get what you pay for. I don't feel like I'm stretching it one bit when I say this place is restaurant quality in a plate lunch. My favorite is the kal bi meat jhun combo. Bean sprouts and kim chee are bomb too, pretty much all the sides are.

    (5)
  • Nicole K.

Mmm tastys. They always have females working the front. I have never seen a male working. I save all of my Tastys receipt numbers in a box. I have so many. The spicy pork is my favorite to get and they pile on the veggies. I love bean sprouts and the shoyu potatoes.

  • Sheldon K.

This has got to me one of the most frequent Korean plate lunch restaurants that I go to. If you're looking for a meal that won't hurt your pocket and good Korean food... Hit them up!

SO RUDE! I'm a regular who's obsessed with Korean food and works in the town center, but I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the customer service I received tonight! I literally work a few shops down from Tasty's and had called and asked about someone delivering the food (literally less than a ten second walk). I wasn't sure what they'd say and was EQUALLY prepared for a yes or a no. I was passed off from one worker to another and the whole time I could hear them mocking what I had asked while laughing about it in the background! I mean, I get it, you guys won't deliver and that's completely understandable! I asked because maybe they would have made an exception because I'm next door, but to be laughed and teased is ridiculous. I'm not even mad about not getting the food, I'm just pissed about how they treated my inquiry. Never going there again.

Just picked up dinner tonight from This Tasty location. The girl that took my order had no personality like she could've cared less if there were no customers. There was about 4 girls working up front talking story. Tables not wiped down and they didn't seem to care. Our food however, came out quickly. I was amazed at how fast it was done. I had the BBQ beef with meat jun. Hubby had the BBQ chicken & fish jun. He liked his food. My food was ok, the BBQ beef was seasoned, "just right.". Not too salty or sweet, soft and easy to chew. For some reason, I remembered the meat jun to be tastier on past visits. This time it was a little tough and bland. Ok, I do keep in mind that I don't usually use the sauce for it, but still.... Hmm 3 stars= great cooking time, food was for the most part, good. And lastly because it's close to home and conveniently located. They could get another 2 stars if the counter help was friendlier and more attentive to their customers. And if they tried harder at keeping the restaurant and it's tables clean. There was one couple eating in there at the time. All other tables were empty. With that many workers on hand, at least one could've wiped the tables down. Oh and it is a cash only establishment :)

So RUDE and ZERO common sense....Never again. The food is just ok nothing to write home about. But the service is TERRIBLE.

I LOVE their meat jun/ BBQ chicken combo!!! Their Chicken Katsu was surprisingly AMAZING as well. Sometimes we'd get Tasty's Chicken Katsu, order Curry from the Genki ramen place near Tasty's & make our own Cheddar Chicken Katsu Curry at home (Kraft's thin shredded mexican 3cheese is the best to throw on). My husband thinks they have the best Chicken Katsu, so far I haven't come across another place with better Chicken Katsu (sad but true). The kalbi isn't tooo shabby either.

I will never ever eat at Mililani Yummy's Korean BBQ again! Found cardboard cooked into that side dish that's like a vegetable pancake thing, WTF. I wish I could give this place negative stars, boo four thumbs down.

    I love their food!

  • Billy N.

I used to come here every weekend to suppress my Korean cravings. I came here for years and used to order their Meat Jun/BBQ Chicken combo which is very cheap considering their portions are huge! You get to choose your own sides and they have some really amazing sides. The food and the price is very good. However, I haven't been back here in over 6 years. It's not because I started getting sick of Kim Jong IL and started to hate everything Korean. It's because I had the WORSE food poisoning of my life. It lasted for almost a week and I felt like I was going die. So every time I pass by this establishment, it is bittersweet. I want to go in but the memory of that food poisoning wins over. Their food is great, but they messed up. No bueno :\

  • Sheena C.

Love, love, love Tasty's. In my opinion, the best meat jun I've had at a take-out spot (...maybe Dong Yang ties though). The sides are always piled high and delish. The sides are definitely the best part of take-out korean! I always opt out of having rice and instead do an extra side. Whenever we're too lazy to cook, the husband, 4-year-old, and I order 1 regular meat jun/chicken katsu plate and split it. And for about $9, the one plate fills all of our tummies up. What a deal! :)

Moneyball: good takeout Korean food. Makes: no joke, their meat jun was my #2 requested meal whenever I came back home from the mainland (assaggios Mililani was #1). Not to mention great side dishes. Parking no problem at Mililani town center. Staff efficient with orders. Misses: kinda pricey - about $10. Should last for a meal and a snack though, maybe two meals for lighter eaters. Kitchen can be slow, best to call ahead if you know what your vege choices will be. They also run out of the sides sometimes...do not go when it's close to closing time. Food tried: BBQ chicken and meat jun, both very good. The meat jun isn't that thick but so much flavor. All the sides are good too. After a long day of work, picking up a meat jun plate, kicking it at home with a cold one in front of the TV...that's a night!

  • Chris L.

Love this place for a takeout local kine Korean plate lunch joint. Cheap, good, and lots of food. When U of Phoenix was around the corner I would go here often. Loved the combination plate which was always a ton of food and the veggies were varied and tasty.

Overall (8/10) Food (8/10) - large portions. Mini for 1, regular if you wanna share. Price (9/10) - great for the amount of food given. Location (9/10) - Mililani Town Center I always get the meat jun and spicy pork combo. Then one day a while back it appeared... SPICY PORK JUN. I don't know if this is served in other places, this is the only place I came across it, and let me say I keep coming back for more. I've been coming here for years, and I hope it stays here for years to come. Will I be back. YOU BET

Okay, the Taegu I raved about last time...the last time I went it was the one from COSTCO!! Not saying that the one from Costco is bad. Heck, their old taegu could've been store bought too but it sure didn't taste like it. Just a heads up folks. The taegu can be bought by the clear plastic tub at Costco.

My boyfriend lives in Mililani so Tasty's is a STAPLE. Definitely the best Korean BBQ take out place I've been to. Their soups actually taste authentic! I also love their banchan (sides)-- the boocheem (they call it "tempura," it's more like a veggie pancake) is very good. They have a wide variety of banchan and they have all the local favorites. Meat jun is great! Not all chewy like from some other places. I usually get a mini meat jun & mandoo combo. I can never ever ever finish a whole mini by myself. That's how much they give you. I've also had the kalbi and barbeque chicken, which are both delicious as well. The workers are friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. They are alwayyys busy and for good reason!

One of our go-to places for a Korean food fix. Fast service. Good food.

  • Shannon F.

Another ono Korean BBQ spot and almost identical to Yummy Korean BBQ as far as menu items and choices...and Logo. My favorites are the Kalbi (of course), Meat Jun and spicy Korean chicken. Gotta order the kim chee as one of your sides, along with the spicy daikon and sesame oil bean sprouts and maybe mac salad. If you're in central Oahu and you're craving Korean BBQ, check this place out. It's not quite Dong Yang's but I guarantee it will still satisfy your opu (stomach).

    (5)
  • Destiny C.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. During our first stay in Oahu, we ate at this spot twice. Not only are the portions big, but the prices are amazing. During our second stay in Oahu, we made it a point to stop by for dinner.

Located at Mililani Town Center right next to Price Busters...this place is A-OK. What do you expect from a take out place. My Meat jun/Mandoo plate cost $10.42. DAMN!!! With that you get 2 scoops of rice and 4 choices of veges. My veges were ok, nothing great. I did enjoy my food though...just not sure if I really enjoyed it for $10. Haha! The 1 thing that majorly sucks about this place is that it is CASH ONLY. So people, don't forget to bring CASH. My recommendation...cough up a few extra bucks and go eat at Mililani BBQ (Also Korean food and also right there)

  • Lofa L.

Ever have that kalbi smell enter your nose and been pissed off you were eating something else? Well Tasty BBQ can help you with your fix. Yeah I don't wanna hear about "this isn't REAL Korean food"...I know. Koreans eat BETTER. But I like eating here. I can't eat in my Korean friends home and the kimchee isnt that great but I like the food here. The sides are good. And they are pretty fast. Unless its because I come near closing time and they just trying to get rid of me? Can't blame them. Pau hana is always motivation! Overall good place for lunch/dinner.

    (4)
  • Theresa J.

Good plate lunch for Korean food - very good on the price as well. They are always fast at getting their food out - good for take away. The only negative is that they are cash only.

I had heard some horrible stories about this place but it didn't stop me from eating here because nothing had happened to me personally. Well, that all changed recently. Started my morning off with a bowl of cereal and went off to work. Missed lunch and came home starving for some Korean BBQ. Ate my usual meat jun/BBQ chicken combo and the next day I was SO sick. I felt like I was dying. And it didn't go away. Couldn't eat, walk, sleep. I had everything bad you can think of, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea etc. Couldn't go to work for 3 days. After a whole week of feeling sick, I went to the doctor. They did testing and found that I had e coli in my system!! (Yes, I have the doctors report to prove it) I was prescribed antibiotics and after a week of taking it, I was feeling like myself again. I reported them to the health department and more people should. This place is so dirty. I will never eat here again and you shouldn't either!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND PAIN!!! You want good Korean food? Go to Mililani Korean BBQ. (It's in the same area)

    (1)
  • Topher D.

You get your BANG fo yo BUCK. All plates under $10. Portions are great. One place could feed two people garands. The Bad: If one has to be objective, their BBQ could be a bit less charred on their meats. The beef is usually marinated well and has good taste but sometimes the chicken is a bit black. Location, its like in the middle of the shopping plaza not a place you can park and pick up in less than 5 minutes(phone order). The Good: Prices. CHEAP. Veggies, fresh and crisp. The Great: Portions. Heaps of food.

Brought daughter #2 and her friend here after school to do some errands. So, I figured I'd feed the teenagers and let them eat something other than a burger combo. They said "we want to eat Korean food!" OK...running a bit short on time so we decided on Tasty's at the Mililani Town Center. As we walk in I see the sign that says "CASH ONLY", who carries cash anymore? I'm a die hard plastic toting mom. I like to earn points or $$ back. Luckily, I stuck a $20 bill in my wallet that morning. Glancing at the menu board and prices I tell the girls "ONLY MINI plates, ok?" Daughter got mini kalbi ($8.95) and her buddy got mini meat jhun ($7.95). With tax it came out to nearly $18! I was planning on getting a snack for myself but with only change left I said I'm stopping by Subway, they take credit cards. Kalbi meat was thinner than usual but tasty and the meat jhun was juicy and flavorful. The full sized plates were less than $2 more. So the minis are larger than other places. Change your policy and take charge cards and I will spend more $$ here!

    (3)
  • J A.

Ordered two plates one of which was kalbi and the other a combination plate with barbecue meat and barbecue chicken. The full plate comes with a choice of four sides. The kalbi was not blow your mind delicious like their competitor Mililani Barbecue because the taste of it being freshly grilled was not there. Their meat seemed as if it was cooked in bulk and then put under a heating lamp until people ordered. But if you want a decent place to order korean food with an affordable price then this is your place.

By far the best fast food Korean BBQ place on the island.

I am on such a meat jun fix right now, its not even funny. Its hilarious! I am in search of the best meat jun........sadly, this place doesn't have it. I guess its hard to compete with meat jun from Dong Yang's. All in all, it curbed my craving for meat jun for the day. There's always to marrow!! There are so many Korean BBQ restaurants out there with names boasting how flavorful their food is, Tasty and Yummy. All of them are basically the same. Same menu, same sides, same taste. When searching for out of this world meat jun, those similarities do get boring after a while. The one thing that I do like about Tasty Korean BBQ is their vegetable tempura. Its really good and I recommend it to everybody to get it as one or two of their sides. I would give them 2.5 stars because it was ok yet I did have better (Dong Yang's!!!!). Since I am such the optimist, I will round it up. 3 Stars.... Dong Yang's!!!!!

  • Geoff K.

Tasty's is your best option of Korean BBQ in Mililani. Portions are large. I usually get the mini plate. It comes with a scoop of rice and 2 side choices. This is one place where I can actually finish the mac salad here because it's not half mayonnaise. Food is good and not overly greasy. The meat jun, kalbi, and BBQ chicken are my favorites.

    (4)
  • Craig S.

Has your basic Korean takeout food. Nothing really fancy. But what I really like is their banchan (side dishes). You get to choose 4 of them when you order a regular plate and it's enough food for 2 meals.
