My boyfriend and I decided to eat dinner here. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and got seated right away. Great atmosphere, very friendly workers, very attentive. Everything we ordered (deep fried chicken wings and a dinner combo plate of beef broccoli and chicken stir-fry) were cooked perfect. We had conversations with the owner (opps, I didn't get his name) and he ended up giving us a complimentary appetizer. We left full and satisfied!!

We eat here a couple times a month, and it is a GOOD Chinese restaurant, since MOST Chinese restaraunts are AVERAGE,this one actually stands out with some ONO dishes. I really like the 1.Salt & pepper fish 2.Salt & pepper pork chop 3.Minute chicken & cake noodle 4. One of the BEST lemon chicken plates on the island. 5. Green beans and mabo pork is AWESOME! I have had some "so-so" plates so I order what I know is good. The beef is kind of chewy so I stay away from that, and some stuff is kind of bland, but it IS Chinese food and NOT gourmet food!!. I am eating there tonight!!!

Good simple Chinese food in neighborhood. Our family enjoying very much all menus from them. Keep it up.

Food is okay, portions small. Waitresses do not smile and service needs improvement. Plus they serve Lipton tea bags and not Chinese tea. The chicken tasted bad and we sent it back. Bathroom is dirty. I didnt want to touch anything, including the light switch!

Wow! My family walked in and right away you can feel the atmosphere is just bad. The Asian ladies were so rude! We stood there, no one greeted us, wasn't sure if it was self seating or they seat us, I had to ask! The ladies were pretty unfriendly and rushed us out. The most disgusting and unsanitary place I have ever been to. Not coming back! Good pricing for the portion size but that doesn't make up for the BAD service and uncleanliness. They tried to force me to tip them for crap service!!'

My husband and I always come here when we want some good Chinese food. Our fave dishes that we usually order are the Chinese chicken salad (my fave) that comes w/ a mouthwatering peanut dressing, oyster sauce chicken cake noodle, & my new fave (healthier option) the sautéed fish w/ ginger & green onion. We never come across any problems here as there's a few mixed reviews. The service is decent & always has room to improve. Their prices are reasonable as their portion size is very generous! Overall, onolicious Chinese food & we enjoy coming here.

I had a large party and we wanted to eat at Genki ramen but they could not seat all 12 of us. So they led us next door to Mauka chinese restaurant. Both restaurants allowed us to order from kitchens. Great service and good food.

Uh, kind of at odds with rating this one. As far as the food goes, it is one of the better tasting chinese restaurants that I have eaten at. Their cold ginger chicken is the best one I have tasted. Their mongolian beef is full of flavor. Their boneless chicken in fried noodles was so good. Their prices are worth it because all of their dishes are so flavorful. But the reason they are only getting two stars is because of their service. I called at 5:40pm to place a take out order to be picked up at 6:00pm. When I got there at 6, one of the waiters went in the back to get the order. I heard him yelling in chinese to the cook. He then came out and told me that the chicken was still cooking, so it'll be about 5-10 minutes. After 25 minutes, he finally came out with the order. WTH?

Ok the first two or three times I ate here I was pretty disappointed. That was about 1 yr ago. So when my parents invited me to dine here w them last month I went reluctantly. I wanted to hang out w them so I figured I would suck it up and endure the food. Well... I was so pleasantly surprised!! I ordered the lunch special for $8.75 or so which came w 2 crispy gau gee, 2 scoops rice, and 2 entree choices. I chose the egg fu young (first time trying that dish) and chicken and vegetables. It was really yummers!!! Flash back to The first few times I visited: everything was very bland. This time, they found the salt shaker (or shoyu bottle). Everything was delicious. I figured there might have been a substitute cook and I wasn't expecting much the next time we went. Wrong again! It was just as good : ). Not sure if they changed cooks or what but for now I'm really loving this place again. Even ordered a pan of chicken vegetables for a pot luck and it was very good. A little too much ginger in one of my bites but other than that no one complained. Love that its nearby : ). Oh and My mom said the sweet sour short ribs were good. Hope they keep it up.

I ordered chicken and broccoli and got some mysterious meat with broccoli. It had lots of fatty tissue and did not have the consistency of chicken. I vomited at the first bite. I took pictures.

Had the house fried rice, which has a sauce you pour over, it was pretty good. Also had the beef with asparagus, which was very tasty. The crispy fried chicken wings were great too. The spring rolls were kinda plain but with the sauce I thought it was better. Ive had the oriental chicken salad, peking duck, gon low mein, and the cold ginger chicken in the past and I thought it was pretty good. The prices are typical for the ala carte items but there are lunch and dinner specials available. Overall I think the food is pretty good and the people are pretty nice.

Stopped here for a quick lunch....prices for the specials looked good...Oyster Sauce Chicken on cake noodle $6.95 (I think)....so I went in. The place was empty..hummmm...well maybe I was having a late lunch...I was greeted and motioned to a table. I ordered the special...then thought I'd check out the reviews on Yelp.....hummm...not too good...oh well, I was already here and what the heck...I can write my own. As I waited, my girlfriend called...as I'm on the phone, in walks my cousin! Oh man, she is a good Chinese girl....we looked at each other and were so surprised. We hadn't seen each other in years!. I motioned for her to join me. We said our :hellos" and then lunch arrived....looked ok...now for the test....WOW! Pretty good!..Noodles were goo (I'm a noodle expert you understand!)...Chicken was tasty and sauce had a nice consistency.... Found out that my cousin is a regular here... I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the food was very good...tasty and fresh! I, being a good Chinese girl too, would recommend this place...I'll be back to try some of the other dishes....

Terrible. Horrible. No good. Very Bad. I feel like I'm writing the title to a great children's book "Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" but sadly, I'm writing my own version for a review of this ill example of Chinese cuisine in Mililani Mauka. I must say that I really don't enjoy anything about having to write a bad review...but, having said that, I am not beyond writing a truthful, yet bad review. Looking for a little something to compliment some Filipino items that I had picked up earlier in the evening. Since my favorite foodie friend's mom was not up to cooking tonight, the favorite foodie friend suggested that we grab something from this place to complete the dinner. How hard could it be, right? We pile in the Winnie and head out... As soon as we rolled up, we could see the servers walking up to the window to peer through as if to see who beckons. That was warning sign #1. Although the restaurant was EMPTY (with the exception of the 3 servers and the pile of cardboard boxes that resembled the GREAT WALL OF CHINA minus the Beibs) the server was quick to let us know that they close AT 9PM. Mind you, it was 830PM!! Warning Sign #2: Never given a menu. After the "warm" reception we received, I think she expected us to leave. Well, NY'ers are a bit tenacious and audacious to boot. Naturally, we asked for a menu! We do like take out. In fact, we LOVE take out. Hand over the menu, lady! We ask for Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and Chinese Peas...No have it! We ask for Scallops with Chinese Peas...No have it! We ask for General Jor's Chicken...OK, have that. We ask for Seafood Chow Fun...reluctantly, they have it. Roast Duck...OK, we have one left. We get the food with 15 minutes to spare and this lady still makes us feel like we're cramping her style. We pay the bill and we head home all feeling as if we made her angry by daring to come and offer our patronage to a place that closes at 9PM while it's only 830PM. If this wasn't bad, it gets worse! All of the food...tasteless. All of it looking pale, soggy and gross. Horrible. Terrible, No good, VERY BAD! All of this for $48??? Never again!!!

The best Chinese food in Mililani. We eat here every week and enjoy it very much. Salt and pepper pork chops and steamed fish with ginger and green onions are our favorites.

  • Jenel O.

I'm leaning around 3 1/2 stars... After browsing the reviews, I wasn't looking forward to coming here at all. Everything seemed subpar from the food to the service. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was good, our server was quite friendly, asked how old my son was, joked around a little... she was great! Definitely better than most Chinese restaurants. The food was typical Chinese restaurant food. It wasn't necessarily better than the average restaurant nor did I think it was worse. My daughter and son nearly finished the steamed fish fillet with ginger and green onion by themselves and it's a huge order! We also had the honey walnut shrimp, string beans with pork, black bean chow fun and salt and pepper pork chops. The pork chops were delicious! Who wouldn't like deep fried pork chops with garlic and peppers!? I'd eat there again.

I been going to this place for a few months now and probably my new favorite chinese food place in hawaii. I live in Mauka and the location is close to home which makes it more of a favorite. Have yet to try a dish that did not like. Everything we have tried is tasty and fresh. Service is great and prices good. Favorite dishes are the Roasted Duck & Ginger Chicken. Relax...Enjoy....Eat.

Went here for dinner last night with classmate. Had steamed sea bass with ginger green onion shoyu, pork hash stuffed eggplant & minute chicken cake noodles. Food was very good. One waitress was typical Chinese waitress, curt- one was very pleasant. Restaurant wasn' very busy. I like the feel- small, clean & nice Chinese décor. Music was the typical Chinese- smooth jazz, rock, old school- KUMU FM 94.7 ! Actually had lunch here a few days ago. Was good- we had Chinese chicken salad, sweet sour spare ribs & Kau yuk. That was good too. I see a lot of bad reviews but I don't think it's warranted right now. I think it's great dining experience at a good price. I would have given 5 stars but because of the curt waitress I have to lower over all experience to 4 stars

  • Ron C.

The common thread for a lot Chinese restaurants we have been to is simple: curt / indifferent / downright rude service. From the busy tables of China town San Francisco to the small shops of Buenos Aires, it seems to be something they share no matter where you are or what languages you speak (side note: truly disconcerting for me to look right at a Chinese person and have them speak fluent Spanish to you). That having been said, HOLY MOLY on setting the bar on what we can only call the definition of truly indifferent wait staffers. From single dining, family dining, and large group dining this place makes being felt like an inconvenience an art form. Forget the food. Forget the tastes and the flavors. It will not matter when the music is loudly blaring Baby Got Back in the dining area (keep in mind this is a family establishment) and the only sight you have of your food service staff is them eating all together with their backs to the entire dining room. We used to frequent this restaurant since it was one of the only few Chinese restaurant options in Mililani, but enough is enough. One can only stand the belligerent attitudes for so long ...

  • Riss R.

Average chinese food. Had lunch here today. Ordered the honey walnut shrimp. Cost $14.95. Shrimp were on the smaller side and portion small for the price. I ordered a small bowl of rice, $2.00. My lunch ended up costing almost $18. I knew I should've just stuck to Panda Express!

    (3)
  • Brian H.

The only good Chinese restaurant in Mililani. Idk about the other reviews but I've always gotten friendly service. The food is also pretty good...never had a bad meal yet. Unlike Maile Chinese this place doesn't serve roaches. I highly recommend this place and the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the parking is kinda junk.

Visiting my sister in HI and it has been awhile since we have Chinese food. I googled which is the closest one and we found this place. Very big mistake. I will not recommend this place at all. Food needs more flavoring and the chicken taste not fresh. Orange chicken is the worst orange chicken I ever had. I ordered 8 items worth $80 take out , all we eat we're the vegetables because the meat were bad. The restaurant cleanliness is another question. Carpet is really filthy and menus are sticky. I should have used yelp first next time. What a waste of food and money to throw away.

Gross & disgusting....friends son found a WORM in his noodles...I posted the pic for you to all see. They were nice enough to offer a refund...gee...thanks!! Don't eat here!!

  • Darlene B.

There was only one other table in the restaurant and the service was horrible. The male server NEVER asked how we were doing once our food was served. He was actually wearing his earphones hooked up to his phone, sitting at another table playing with his phone and chatting with the female server. The female server is rude. If you ask her anything, it's like you're bothering her. And she looks very unhappy working there. Plate was dirty. Teapots were extremely stained and dirty looking. The restroom had a wad of long black hair on the floor next to the toilet. The sink was filthy brown. All the food was tasty. But it was difficult to enjoy with careless servers and worrying about cleanliness. I would never recommend this restaurant even though the food was very tasty.

  • Jessica M.

Never coming back here again! The service is bad, the ladies were rude and the restaurant was empty, but we still had to flag them down for service. Not to mention the food here sucks. We ordered oyster sauce chicken cake noodle and the sauce was like jelly textured on it. Very disappointing!

  • Mahina A.

Very friendly and fast staff! Food was great until i found one of their kitchen tools in my bowl of noodles. Not very appetizing after that.

Bad service. Bad food. Waitress was very rude & the lemon & orange chicken tasted like the same fried chicken with lemon & orange sauce barely covering the chicken.

Second time here and the food surprisingly was very tasty. After trying them the first time with an order of won ton min, which wasn't very good. This time around tried eating in the restaurant. Had the mayo shrimp and the Hong Kong style pot roast cassarole. Good tastes for both. Service could stand to be a little more friendly but got the job done. Lots of take out business.

Over priced for no reason. The food was not very good either. But the waitresses were very nice. Definitely will not be going back.

My daughter and I like coming right after work. The food and the service are always great. Her favorite is Pot Roast pork. It's always really tasty and I love the beef broccoli with cake noodle.

    (5)
  • Lisa K.

I ordered take-out last night, walnut shrimp, beef w/ black bean noodle sauce, and minute chicken. The walnut shrimp had a little bit too much mayo for my taste but I still give it 4 out of 5 stars. The noodles were very tasty my only recommendation is more sauce. The minute chicken was the perfect size for my two young children. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and are eating the leftovers for lunch!

We love their food. Service is great. Super friendly. I enjoyed the fish with Ginger and green onion, stir fried string beans, and shredded chicken fried rice. Minute chicken was good and the duck as well.

red flag stop stop do go in the door unless you like really bad slow service. you can't understand a thing the waiters are saying unless you are flutent chinese. their menu knowledge is complete crap. the food hasn't quite came yet but it's been so long im sure it's cold

    (1)
  • Lilian N.

Wow, our last visit simply sucked...I ordered the won ton mein and it was down right inedible. The soup was bland, the won tons were filled with mushy/frozen/old shrimp with mystery meat, AND I found a piece of plastic floating around in the soup. The other items were decent: ong choy with garlic sauce and asparagus with beef. As we were paying the waitress, I mentioned the piece of plastic and she said "okay." Then I repeated myself to make sure she heard me the first time, and she just nodded her head and said "oh, okay." And then as we walked away she said "sorry about that." Hmm, will I go back again? NO!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH US?!?! After I swore up and down we'd never return the hubby goes out and buys Mililani Mauka Chinese food take out - the in-laws are here out of town, so maybe that was the reason, to avoid cooking and cleaning until the late night...anyway! Walnut Shrimp - DISgusting with a capital D-I-S; swimming in mayo, 13.99 for 11 pieces of medium sized shrimp drowning in mayo sprinkled with some candied walnuts. I had to scrape mayo off each piece before I ate it. PLEH!!! Shrimp Fried Rice - pretty good, only real decent thing. Hot Sour Soup - Father in law is from the mainland and even he said "it wasn't that good"; its pretty bad when peeps from the mainland think the soup is bad...he kept asking for soy sauce to put into the soup. Orange Chicken - kid liked it, until he bit into a sliver of thin, needle-like bone. Veggie Tofu - expensive, mediocre. I have officially signed our death warrant for this resto as I am sure the owner now knows who we are by reading what we ordered for take out and will probably opt to over-charge us next time by even more, or who-knows-what (shudder)...but maybe a blessing in disguise to force us to drive farther in the quest of truly good Chinese take-out, which seems to have become a rarity.

    (2)
  • Celina Y.

Okay, I now this restaurant has received a lot of bad reviews but I really think it's because of what people are ordering. Orange chicken, walnut shrimp, lemon chicken...I personally have never ordered these dishes, but these are more American Chinese dishes. If you want these kind of dishes, go to Panda Express! I am 100% Chinese and my parents and I love this restaurant. If you want good, fresh, authentic Chinese dishes such as beef stew, fish w/ ginger and green onion, and noodles come here! And no...I don't get special treatment and extraordinary dishes because I'm Chinese. I usually order by phone in English so they have no clue that I'm even Chinese.

Our group goes there about once a quarter as a get together. We've always been happy with the food and the service (we're so busy yakking that we don't really notice). The food's decent, as a group, the price is reasonable and they let us stay as long as we want, not like the other place which used to chase us out after 8:30 pm. Then... I went there to just get a takeout for myself and as I perused the menu, I didn't see what I really wanted to order. That's ok, as I got my oyster chicken cake noodle. It was a bit pricey as I can get the same dish at the other place for about $3 less. Well, maybe they'll give me more food (well, they kinda sorta did). BUT I waited about 20 minutes for them to make my food. For a Chinese restaurant, that's LONG! I'll keep on going there with my group but I doubt if I'll go back alone for takeout.

The crab rangoons were good but that is about the only good thing I can say about my meal.

well, it appears as if the service is even worse than our visit and the food not improved even a year later....you GO John S. THE WORST FOOD EVER...I stand by my review. On a happier note, if you are in Aiea...check out Queen St Grill. OMG so good! Norhth Shore Shrimp and Korean Chicken to die for. Psssst my favs are the killer side sauces the owner mixes up himself!

  • Zeny O.

We got take out on a friday night as we were too tired to cook or sit in a restaurant with the kids. We had Orange chicken, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao chicken, and Garlicky Bok Choy. It was all pretty good, the mongolian Beef was my favorite, but not great. It's convinient if you live in Mauka as there aren't many food options on this side.

    (3)
  • Shelley K.

First of all, the other reviews are VERY misleading. This has been one of the worst Chinese restaurants I've been too. I've never been to a place that was so bland and flavorless for Chinese food. Only 2 dishes that we ordered were good. And even then, one of the dishes did not taste like what it should have been. Only good thing about the place was the service, which is the only reason why I am giving two-stars. The food is definitely not worth the price they charge. I would not recommend anyone to this place.

***STAY AWAY!!!!*** Don't waste your time or your money!! I only wish I could give this writhing infestation of revolting "food" and atrocious "service" less than one star. Take heed, for Yelp reviews lie not!! My wife and I were wanting some Chinese, so I suggested this place, as it was close by. My wife warned me, "It got really bad yelp reviews!" I knew this, of course, but decided that we might as well give it a shot; after all, they might not be as bad as everyone says, right?? We called in our order, and waited in the parking lot for about 20 min. I then went in, and waited in line over 30 min, without so much as a "sorry" or "thank you for your patience." Finally got to the front counter, where I sat for another 5 minutes, waiting for someone to even acknowledge my presence, while every single pathetic excuse for a waitress walks by without so much as a smile. After taking my money, I waited another 20 minutes, while the waitresses walked around, getting dishes for dining-in customers, handing out food to people who came in 30 minutes after me, etc. FINALLY!!! The moment arrived, and my number was called. As furious as I was, at least I finally had our food, and we could go home and eat, right? Oh, but this isn't just any Chinese Restaurant we're dealing with...this place is an astounding masterpiece of inferior service. So, naturally, upon checking our order on the way home, we discovered that it was, indeed, the wrong one. It was, of course, par for the course at this point, so we continued on our merry way, not wishing to waste another 45 minutes sitting in line for a replacement. The food looked edible, so we both decided to eat it anyway. It was some sort of chicken, but they unfortunately forgot to cook it (oops!). On a lighter note, the fried rice was actually pretty good. If only we had listened to the yelp reviews...

I would give them all 5 stars if they fired all their staff. I'm a super picky eater but I love their Cashew Chicken, Crispy Gau Gee Mein and Salt & Pepper Pork Chops. I LOVE IT!

  • Joei G.

This place is pretty much your typical Chinese restaurant in my opinion. However I am a fan of this place. Actually I'll probably tend to be more bias towards Chinese places since I love Chinese food. Besides loving Chinese food, I like how this place is very close to my home. So if I feel like building up my appetite, I'll walk over, but if I feel lazy or too hungry I'll drive lol. Anyway, I give this place 4 stars because 1. Iove Chinese, 2. location., 3. their 2 choice plate lunch also comes with 2 pieces of gau gee, and 4. the ladies at the front are normally friendly. If you were to exclude my bias opinion, then this place is just a 3 star. I should also mention I noticed that they make the char siu here differently when compared to other places I ate from. I once ordered just the entree itself and they made it with some type of bean, I thought this was interesting. I think they bake the char siu instead of roasting it as other places do. I prefer roast style but I still order their char siu when I eat their plate lunch. Also in terms of pricing, since they are at a more out skirt type of location, they might be a dollar or more on prices than restaurants that are in shopping centers or other business type areas. But I like this place and hopefully you will too.

Where to start? We were in the area and wanted to try some chinese food. Unfortunately, we walked into this dive. I use yelp on a regular basis because I generally believe you will get a pretty accurate depiction of how your dining experience will go. We walked in on a Sunday at about 1 pm and the place was totally empty. That's not a good sign for a weekend during lunch rush. An older asian lady halfway greeted us as she mumbled something under her breath that resembled hello. Immediately, I felt a vibe that she hated us. She didn't smile at all. My three year old was being silly and not so much as a grin. My wife was waiting to use the restroom and she told her to just open the door. My wife explained that someone was in there and the lady actually rolled her eyes. That was enough for me to leave right there but I was with the family and didn't want to make a big deal about it. After calming myself down, I just ordered something random off the menu, Orange chicken, and sweet and sour pork for a "shared lunched" option that was advertised in the front. Food came out quick. It was cold, orange chicken and the pork were fried to death, the rice was almost cold and no flavor. My daughter loves Chinese food and she maybe ate 3 bites. Oh! Did I mention that the lady didn't ask us if we wanted anything besides water? Apparently tea and water are the only choices?the waitress actually sat at a table next to us and ate soup as we ate which I found awkward, but anyway. When it can time to pay, I just sorta stared at her for 5 minutes until she stopped eating. I started to get my daughter out of the high chair and she slugs over with the check. Doesn't say anything just sets it down. I look and take my card out and stick it in the folder like every other place I have eaten. She starts cleaning random stuff for like 5 more minutes. Don't forget, we are the only 3 diners in the place. Finally, I ask her if she is going to take it up and she says you pay at the resister. I grab the check and my family and we walk to the register where the very same lady inputs it and takes my card. No thank you, come again or anything was said. I don't know if this lady is a hater of military or what but avoid. I am 31 and was with my wife and child. I was very polite and even tipped her. AVOID especially if your military. I've been treated better by insurgents than this lady.

Not good at all. I went with a friend after work because we were craving Chinese. She didn't like Panda Express and said we should try real Chinese. Let's just say we both agreed this was not real. I order dumplings and received hard fried beef something that tasted almost like fried wontons, but they were definitely not dumplings. We ordered the crispy chicken and orange chicken. Bad choices. The crispy chicken was dry and had no flavor, but the orange chicken was way worse. It was overly fried and you couldn't even taste the chicken. It was so hard and over cooked it became hard to eat. Next time I will stick with my Panda Express, it's cheaper and much taster.

Yummy food! I love their house special fried rice, salt and pepper pork chop, beef and bitter melon, scallop and asparagus, canton shrimp, and pretty much everything I've eaten there. :)

I'm sorry but ive had better chinese food else where We walked in and the waitress said to sit down at a table that hadnt even been cleared yet. dirty dishes left on the table with food still all over the table... She finally cleared the table after 10 minutes. I dont think she even washed her hands before she gave us our water cups, tea cups, plates and napkins. kinda Gross. We sat there... and sat there and sat there for about 15 minutes-- they didnt even bother to give us menus... finally i had to bring it to someones attention and ask how we can get a menu.... she finally brought them over and it was another 20 minutes until she finally asked for our order.. the food was not very great. overly salty, overly MSG'd. I dont think I will be going back to this restaurant. Sorries.... I felt really sick after i ate here. ugh. I recommended going to Ginger House at Mililani Town Center for better food and better experience.
