Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This is my second time eating here and I have to say I really like the service! It was moderately busy and there were two waitresses working the floor. Our food was brought to us very quickly and our server was very attentive! The food is good. I had the shoyu ramen which was pretty good! I definitely would recommend this place to anyone with a craving for ramen!

Quick and friendly service. My husband and I ordered two of the combo meals, which was enough for us to share with our daughters (4 & 2 years old). The food was good, although I thought the ramen could have used a little more flavor in the broth. Not a huge deal though. It's a small restaurant with table and counter seating. We got there for a late lunch, and didn't have to wait for a table or anything. Food came out pretty quickly.

When I'm back home I eat really unhealthy, and Spam Katsu Curry is definitely it. But it tastes so good! I loved the thick cuts of spam fried in panko and the curry. The curry was really flavorful and went down easy, it kinda reminded me of the Japanese curries I grew up eating. I have to say that Spam Katsu Curry may be one of my (many) guilty pleasures. Mmm!

Tried the miso ramen here. Not bad. Service was ok. Come around 2pm and they will give you 6 pieces of Gyoza free!

We just ate here a couple weeks ago and was able to use a restaurant.com gift certificate then and again today. Every time we've gone, the service and the food has been excellent. We ordered our food tonight and it came out so fast that I barely had time to drink any water. The food was on point and the portions are big. I loved the Mabo Tofu Ramen I had. It hit the spot and was secretly glad my husband didn't really care for it so I could enjoy it all by myself. Hehe. The kids love the chicken katsu curry and mochiko chicken dishes. The curry is delicious! My son kept repeating good order, he was excited to eat it. The service is great, quick and to the point and got food to our table. We'd definitely come back and eat again the next time we're in Mililani.

Came here twice within three days, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's for a good thing. My wife and I came here because of a couple of reasons: 1. I wanted to give the place a second chance 2. My wife loves the Chicken Katsu Curry Ramen So why the second chance? The first time around I ordered the Crispy Noodle with Seafood. Though they provided a big portion, it was just very deceiving. They piled on way too many lettuce veggies and not enough seafood (e.g. shrimp, squid, fish). It basically drowned the crispy noodles and at the end my plate was left with half a pound of lettuce :( ... The second time around I ordered their Tasty Wings plate and substituted with fried rice. I'd have to say it was a little better but I honestly think there wasn't enough flavor to the chicken wings and the same goes with my fried rice. Very bland :( The good part was that my wife loved the chicken katsu curry ramen dish. It reminded us of the Genki Ramen spot we used to love up in San Francisco. She did have this dish for the second time around so that tells enough that it is really good. What is great about this place is their awesome Customer Service! They periodocially checked up on us and ensured our water was filled to the top :) I'll likely give them a third chance just because of their awesome friendly service.

We went here because we had a gc to this place. I saw spam katsu on the menu and was excited becuase up until that point, I thought my aunty was the only person who had the idea to make it. LOL. I did get it and I was really disappointed. I think they did use Spam and it was nice thick cuts, its just that the curry was really flavorless. I know that every culture has their own curry, and while I always prefer that local hawaiian curry flavor (think Zippys/L&L curry), I know that japanese curry isn't as robust. Still, I have had my fair share of japanese curry, and this... was just bad. It really killed my whole meal and experience. Maybe this place has great noodles or other things, but just based off that flavorless curry I will never return to this place again.

I will always come back here because I live near by, but over the past few years, I've noticed the quality of service going down hill. Portions seem to be shrinking and prices seem to be increasing. Last time, the chili oil had a weird burnt flavor. It was gritty and blackish. I ordered a small beef curry with a ramen. The were no vegetables at all in the curry and only a few pieces of beef. Like I said, I'll keep eating here because I've been coming here for so long, but they need to step it up a bit!

2:00pm is Happy Hour here. For this event, you get 6 Gyoza FREE!! The best "fast (like) food" place in Mililani, and if you want it to-go, call 30 minutes in advance. I love the Spicy selections and add additional Ryu for intense fire :). Enjoy your time for a good meal. Their RAMEN is one of the best on Island and as far as Central and Northern Oahu, there is NO comparison. You would need to travel to HNL or Waikiki Beach for better.

Living in Mililani, Genki Ramen is regular place for us to visit. The food is always good. Service is usually pretty quick. We all love the gyoza (potstickers) that they actually in the restaurant. They have just the right blend of meat and vegetables to make them absolutely delectable. The kids and I like them on their own and they have a special price if you order them with Ramen or another entrée. My wife loves their gyoza curry. I typically order the Char Siu Ramen. You get six large char siu slices in a huge bowl of shio (salt-based soup) ramen. My kids prefer the richer shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. The serving sizes are very large so my younger kids will typically share. My only complaints are that the restaurant is kept very cold and food is often brought out with poor timing. For example, one person will get their order and nothing else will come until 10 minutes later. Another example is that side orders will often come long after the main course has been served. Still we love this great little local restaurant.

They give a lot of food here and it comes out fast. It's like an ezogiku except the food is not as good. I rather have ezogiku's chicken katsu curry's flavor and large chunks of vegetables. My friend's mochiko chicken looked dry

My boy loves ramen. LOVES RAMEN. I love pho, LOVE LOE LOVE PHO. But to be fair since I drag him to pho with me, I agreed to check out some ramen places with him. This is actually the first place I have tried besides Ramen-Ya in Hawaii Kai. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the curry ramen with extra char siu, and it was soooo good. But the bowl was huge and I would have liked some size options. I wasn't a fan of the gyoza, but we also ordered a side of mochiko chicken and it was super yummy. The restaurant was nice and clean and the wait staff friendly and fast. I'd go back.

Happy Hour 2:30p - 5:00p any regular order comes with FREEE 4-piece gyoza. I popped my Genki Ramen cherry back in 2005; still #1 ramen/Jap curry on my list!!!! I would eat here weekly if only my metabolism loved me, uki!!! Hands down the only place that I will compare all the local ramen hot spots to!!! My go-to order used to be Combo A (Small shoyu ramen, sub chicken katsu curry & 4-piece gyoza) all for under $10.... But since I 86th my rice intake, I only go there for mabo tofu or shoyu ramen with a 4 piece gyoza. On rainy days, expect a wait... but not too long. Take out is just as good, just phone order. Yesterday, I sinned and ate the rest of my son's chicken katsu curry & mother's mini fried rice. I don't regret one friggn grain!!! FYI - crazy waitress re-located to their Genki Ramen in Mauka.

Their chicken katsu is a very good compared to other restaurants I've had that dish that. I like to come here and purchase side orders.

I love genki ramen, best place to eat with the combinations, there fast and great to eat. Always yummy! The customer service is awesome and also is there food. I will be coming back more often now! Thank you Genki ramen for giving me and my kids a good meal to eat. I love it!!!

Genki Ramen is a decent place for Ramen if we don't feel like driving to town. I always get the charsu Ramen with a side of gyoza. The Charsu Ramen is always good, comes with 5-6pcs of charsu. The Gyoza is always fresh and slightly chewy with a crisp bottom. This time I was feeling adventurous so I got the Seafood Ramen. It was pretty good, I did how ever get grossed out when I noticed that they do NOT de-vein their shrimp. YUCK I will not be ordering anything with shrimp here again. The Genki Big Bowl is also good if you are really hungry there are SO many toppings which include, menma, half an egg, konbu, chicken katsu, corn, and cabbage. TIP: ask for the katsu on the side so it stays crunchy.

The food here is just awesome. I usually get their genki ramen and boy, is that awesome. everytime i've been there, their food feels fresh and made from scratch. But dont expect to get good service though. the waitresses always seems to be in some kind of a hurry and will forget about u most of the time. I just go there for their amazing food.

We had to play Santa for our folks in Mililani,so we decided to refuel here. I used to live here about 7 years ago and came here regularly. Then, I'd probably give it 4 stars because any ramen was good to me. Now, that I've tasted amazing ramen in town...like goma tei and the travelling ones at Shirokiya, I'm thinking this kinda sucks. I ordered the Genki Ramen. So this monster is HUGE!!!! This bowl of ramen is enough to feed two-three women comfortably! It's filled with vegetables and noodles galore! So for a really hungry guy who doesn't really care about taste, this is the place for you! To be fair, their katsu curry was pretty good.it's not earth shattering amazing, but decent. Their fried rice was ok. I could probably stir up a better one. Their gyoza is the most disappointing. You can get better ones from Costco. No wonder it's free during happy hour. Service was fast. If you're in a rush, this isn't so bad, but I'd still rather eat somewhere else.

Best ramen on the island, they make their own noodles fresh every day and the soup broth are a just right blend of flavors, not too strong or weak, and noodles never over cooked, always have a slight al-dent-ta.

My favorite place for gyoza and the beef curry. Polite staff, clean, delicious food nothing to complain about.

Food took way too long and it seemed as if my order was forgotten because part of my combo came way after I finished eating the rest. The waiters were not friendly at all and the food was only ok. Nothing compared to other authentic ramen shops on the island.

  • Conifers J.

Pretty rough for ramen! The gyoza were ok, but the noodles were egg noodles and flat, neither chewy nor ... wonderful enough to finish the bowl. Pity! The soup and certainly the lips were awash/ buzzing with msg.

I'm not a huge Ramen snob or anything- but the food was just okay. Nothing at all to write a great review about- and I wouldn't even be writing a review- good or bad- but I do have to say something about the service and the management. Our server spilled my ramen all over my arm- pretty much giving me a good scald on the inside of my left arm. My sweater and jeans were pretty soaked and I think I scared the elder Japanese couple at the next table when I semi-screamed. A waitress- not the one who spilled all over me- got me some ice and some Neosporin. But that was it. No one came to apologize or see if I was okay. I just basically sat there pretty embarrassed and nursed my arm. We ate because we were starving and the food was there. But I'm not sure what it tasted like since my arm hurt like hell. And then I had to pay for my meal. My son's meal- I was willing to pay for- but my own? After drenching me in ramen and scalding my arm- no comp, no 10% off, no nothing? The kicker was when the server who spilled on me, came over and showed me her arm, and told me she spilled on herself the night before. I wasn't sure why she was showing me her arm- but I guess to tell me I would be okay? Wow. Thanks for that. So awesome that they let her bring super hot soup to customers- she seems to be working out really well in their establishment. Please do not eat there- just keep going to Mililani BBQ two doors down. They make excellent Korean food and I have been eating there for YEARS and never have they spilled soup or scalding hot food on me. The food is 10X better, and if they make a mistake- they pay for your meal. Well- that has been my experience anyway.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! Ok ok.... I first came here because I was curious and I wanted to give curry a second chance. My mom ruined curry for me when I was a kid and avoided curry since then. So I had the mini beef curry with won ton min combo. I love every bit of it. I come here quite often. What I do find funny is that I think everyone there is Chinese and the food is supposed to be Japanese. It's not important but just interesting to me. The server I usually see when I go is really nice. Well everyone is nice. This place gets really busy and is really popular among the residence near by. Like I said I love it here. My usual orders either include the fried rice, ramen or chicken katsu curry. Very AWESOME place and the pricing is very reasonable. Definitely come here to try this place yourself.

Would give this place a zero if I could. Service was friendly and efficient; good start. Ordered the shrimp katsu and a couple of bites in found out that it also contained meat (I don't eat meat). Pointed this out to the waitress whose response was a nervous laugh and to tell me that everything contains meat there whether stated or not. Took the place down to 2 stars as the hubby was enjoying his chicken katsu at least. Until later that night . . Definitely no longer enjoying it.

This place isn't great or anything and I think the ramen was a bit bland - so I'll prob never go here again- BUT!! They give you a lot for your money which is a lot to say since we live in Hawaii and things here are ridiculous! So I'm 50/50 on it - it's ok -

I haven't been to Genki Ramen in ages! Back during my middle school years I use to come out to Mililani all the time, it was like my second home! Genki was always the place to go on a cold night. Okay, it may not have been cold but since I'm a townie, Mililani can get pretty cold in comparison. Since my childhood, Genki Ramen has undergone some slight renovation but some things have remained unchanged. What has gone unchanged? Well, you can have either udon or ramen for anything with soup and service is pretty fast! The earlier you eat the faster your food will come out! The other day I ate here around 5:30 and my food was out within 5 minutes! Dang that's fast! On my most recent visit I shared the Mabo Tofu Ramen yelp.com/user_local_phot… Chicken Katsu Curry yelp.com/user_local_phot… and the Chicken Fried Rice yelp.com/user_local_phot… The mabo tofu ramen was pretty good (If you like tofu soups). It's basically tofu and your ramen in a semi thick broth that taste more Chinese than Japanese. Its a nice change from the regular traditional ramen but I still like their katsu curry udon/ramen better! I LOVE their katsu curry plate! Back in the day I could barely finish my katsu curry plate, but now I can down it with ease! I could probably even eat two! But I'd sure feel guilty after thinking about all those calories. From what I remembered the fried wasn't my favorite...and it still isn't! The fried rice is nothing spectacular, a tad bit on the salty side and has small pieces of shredded chicken, peas, and kamaboko. It's basically just a filler to get if you're really hungry. I could have sworn that this use to have carrots... Its okay, I don't like much veggies in my fried rice anyway! The best part is eating a really early dinner or a really late lunch! Happy hour is from 2pm-5pm and you get 4 piece gyoza for free! Come on, you have to admit free gyozas is definitely a plus! I wouldn't go out of my way to Genki (unless I lived in Mililani) but if you're at Mililani Town Center and craving cheap/fast ramen, udon, or curry head over to Genki! Thank you Genki Ramen for the nostalgic feelings and wonderful food throughout the years!

We use to eat here on a regular basis that is until the staff ate our candy we inadvertently left behind. After we finished eating we left behind a bag with two plastic wrapped chocolate marshmallows on the table. We came back within a few minutes to see if they put it aside in case we returned. My wife asked the lady if she saw a bag on the table. They lady replied "oh the chocolate candy? we threw it away". When we left there was another family still eating and no one else there. We ate everything on our plates so its not like they had a lot of trash to throw away. They claimed that the bag was dirty with the trash. I hope that 3 dollar bag of candy was worth our business

Chicken Katsu Curry Rice Plate! My favorite. This plate is just full of goodness! I order this every time I go here. When it's my turn to choose a place for lunch or dinner I pick Genki Ramen. The prices are reasonable. Food is excellent. Service is ok. There is usually one waitress when I go in. Every time we dine in, we seem to get out gyoza last. But I see everyone get theirs first. Weird. I finally made it for happy hour time -- FREE 4 pc. Gyoza! I didn't even realize it was happy hour. She kindly reminded me when I placed an order fro side gyoza. So nice. Next time I want to sit at the bar area where the you can watch them cook. Looks like fun. It's cold inside, might want to bring a light jacket. But the cold a/c feels nice on a hot day!

My friends and I always came to this restaurant since high school. We loved their food and their affordable prices. Their service is usually fast and friendly, but today, our waitress was very rude and gave horrible customer service. We were not welcomed and the waitress just threw the menu on the table and walked away. When she came back to our table to take our order, she just wrote stuff down, did not say a word, and walked away again. The restaurant was not even busy when we were there, so she has no excuse to treat customers that way. Our waitress had no friendly expression on her face and did not even give us courtesy. She even charged us for food that we did not order. Overall, their food deserves 4 stars, but as for their service, it deserves 1 star.

If I had an iphone, you'd be able to see that I eat here at least once a week, most times twice a week and have been for 5+ years. I'm not really a fan of their ramen, but I do like their udon. When I was pregnant with my son, I'd eat here 3 times a week and order double noodles. Yes, I love udon that much. This probably explains why when I ask my son what he wants to eat, he says, "for some reason, the only thing I can think of is fat noodles." Anyway, I'm currently addicted to their chuka udon (udon with seaweed and menma). I also enjoy the chicken katsu curry and most of the time the fried rice (sometimes it doesn't have enough... seasoning?). And best of all, happy hour from 2:30pm-5pm for free gyoza! :) I think I'm gonna get dressed to go eat there now.

It would sound normal to order ramen at Genki Ramen but I was wrong. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Ramen. The ramen came out first without the chicken katsu and then about 10 minutes later the measly 4 pieces of chicken came out dry and room temperature. By then the ramen was cold and the chicken katsu was bland. The soup was plain and everything else was average at best. After finishing the small portion I was without water for about 15 more minutes until I had to chase down the waiter to give us the bill. Never again will I eat there neither should anyone else. I would recommend going right next door to the Korean restaurant, its much better.

You know that feeling that you're just getting in the way? I just got that... here... sitting at the counter, the seats closest to the back of the restaurant. No little window to pass food from the kitchen, but no matter, they just pass it over the counter. I enjoy sitting here, where I can watch the Shaolin Kung Fu cooks (so wrong - I know) "wok" their magic on ramen & fried rice. I don't mind that they pass food near me, next to me or around me, but it does get a little annoying after a few rounds of tempting gyoza go "wok"ing past you. I ordered the Combo-A (Mini Shoyu Ramen, Mini Fried Rice and 4 pcs. of Gyoza), a good deal for under $8, my wife got the Mini Chicken Katsu Curry under $5 and my son got this too (hold the curry). Chicken Katsu Curry - Katsu was nicely breaded and deep fried to a crisp, very tasty, but the cutlets were slightly on the thin side. The curry was good , but just okay, not as rich or flavorful as other places. Mini Shoyu Ramen - The broth was full of flavor, but a bit salty. It comes garnished with a large slice of pork. Mini Fried Rice - Always good here. Not greasy or overcooked, the rice is nice and firm with that great smoky seasoned wok flavor. Gyoza - My favorite. These tasty little bottom-seared Gyoza packets, combined with the tangy soy dipping sauce, are the first and last thing I eat from this meal. The service here is decent, but could use a little "wok." After being seated and ordering our food, we didn't receive any of our waters until after the first dishes were served. Yeah I know, it takes a while to make.... water! The Gyoza was the last thing that was brought to our table. Big problem! That's the first thing I eat, so I sat there... watching Shaolin Monk Kung Fu Theatre. Seems they cook them in batches, not as they are ordered. Big problem! All that aside, the prices are good (our bill was less than $20), the Gyoza is well worth it and I'd still "wok" back here for more Kung Fu Theatre. Haya! Wooo!

Awesome food! I am a huge fan of the mabo tofu ramen, and I often order the pork fried rice for take-out. It is my favorite non-breakfast type of fried rice. The gyoza here is also phenomenal, very authentic Japan-quality, and I have had gyoza in Japan. The gyoza noodle here is just the right thickness to surround well-flavored meat and cabbage on the inside. Bring a sweater or something because the AC can get a little too chilly.

They have a special from 2-5pm where you get 4 pieces of gyoza free with each order. How awesome is that? It's awesome blossom if you ask me. They don't have butter ramen on the the menu but you can have butter added to any soup base of your selection for an extra $0.80. What I really appreciate about this business is that they take great care in packing up your to-go order. They pack it in a sturdy box and tape it down to secure it. It's little efforts such as the example above that shows that a business cares about the entire experience.

Came here with a group of guys during the week for lunch. I think we all got a combo platter and the portions are HUGE. I was an idiot and ate all of it. One of the guys I was with ordered a fried rice platter and it was literally a week's worth of rice... On top of the portions being awesomely enormous, everything was delicious too... I haven't ever eaten anything quite like Genki Ramen... and I can't wait to go back

Came here with the kiddies one afternoon and we were hungry! Oldest son was complaining ever since we walked in the door... "I don't like this food, its junk!" And he hadnt even seen the menu. By the time we left, we were all full and satisfied! I am definitely one that sticks to my usual orders when I go to certain restaurants so since I was a regular at ton ton ramen back on my old stomping grounds... I chose similar things that they had at this "new spot"- katsu curry, some set combination that included: small ramen, gyoza, and fried rice. First thing to come out was the fried rice. Tasty, full of peas, kamaboko, char sui meat and great flavor! It was a small looking plate with a big mountain of rice =] kept the kids and I quiet til the rest came. Next was the ramen, it had a nice piece of pork and a slice of kamaboko. Lots of soup just how my middle boy loves is saimin. By the time I got my katsu curry the kids were all set up and eating happily on their own so I could enjoy! There was a lot and it was hot so I know definitely fresh from the fire! I had enough to share with my three kids, feed myself til I was full and bring some home for the bf to have for breakfast the next morning. As for the gyoza... nothing special. Decent, they came last so I didn't really have room for those lol. I have to say, service there could be stepped up a bit. I mean we came at lunch time, there was a guy cooking and who I thought was supposed to be a waitress/hostess was in the back most of the time. We got our cups of water and our food when it was ready, other than that no one was to be seen. I guess prepping or stocking, who knows... but it was like that for everyone I seen coming in to dine. But oh well the foods good and its in a convenient location. The prices aren't expensive so we'll be coming here more often since we live close now.

This was always a go-to place for me when I lived back at Schofield--5 years later and nothing's changed. I was feeling under the weather on my trip, so came over for some kimchi ramen. The kimchi was plentiful and tasty, though not very spicy, noodles were fine. Only thing I wish is that it came with pork or something--even spam would be fine, just needs some meat (and not at an extra charge either). I didn't finish all my kimchi and broth, brought it home to drink up for breakfast the next day :)

Genki Ramen has always been a favorite of mine. During high school my friends and I ate here at least once a month. Though not as frequently, I still eat here often. I usually have the: Shrimp Katsu Curry Rice, but I pretty much tried everything on the menu since their menu does not change. :) Ambiance: The ambiance is alright, pretty casual. You can either sit at the tables or in a "bar" like seating in front of the cooks. Nothing stand out here. Cleanliness: The restaurant is clean and well maintained. They cook the food where you can see them. Customer Service: It is not bad, when it is busy during dinner hours the waitresses get grumpy and their courtesy drops. Food: The ramen is standard fare. Their curry is what I love, their beef curry can be tough sometimes, that is why I always get it with shrimp katsu. Their fried rice and fried noodles can be a bit oily at times. Value: Great! There is a happy hour you get free 4 piece gyoza for main plate. There are stamp cards for those who go here frequently. (do not use these during happy hour because they will charge you for gyoza). You get what you paid in terms of quantity and quality. Bottom Line: A great restaurant if you are craving curry or want to head out for lunch or dinner without spending over $10 per plate.

I stopped in because I noticed a happy hour free gyoza sign. I haven't had ramen in such a long time so I was looking for a nice treat. The restaurant was about half full and since I was by myself I was seated at the counter. This allowed me a great view of the open kitchen to watch the men & ladies at work making all the yummy goodies. I ordered charsiu ramen and gyoza. I'm not sure how you rate the quality of ramen but to me it all used to taste the same. The charsiu was little more salty than I would like but the broth was very good. I like to add some spice to my meals so it was nice that there was shichimi and chili oil on the condiment tray. I was almost halfway done with my ramen before my gyoza arrived -the person who was making gyoza went on a break and no one took over the gyoza making for a while. Being able to see the kitchen allowed me to see this. In the meantime, I watched other orders being made. After what seemed like forever (even though I'm sure was just about 5-10 minutes) I got my free 4pc gyoza. I know it was free...but 2 pieces were stuck together and when I pulled it apart, the gyoza wrapper ripped and the insides came out. :( sad face. I felt there was more veggie than pork in the gyoza but it was decent enough to eat. In the end, I decided that food-wise, this was not my favorite ramen-gyoza place. I did like the service. They were friendly and other than the delay with the gyoza, efficient. I may need to try something else here the next time...

My fiancee and I are frequent visitors to this little ramen place in the Mililani Town Center. He loves their chicken katsu curry. When we first started dating and went here to eat, I asked him, "What kind of person gets katsu at a ramen restaurant?" Little did I know how good the dish actually was. I stole a few pieces of his plate and found that the curry sauce was excellent and went really well with the huge pieces of katsu. I always end up finishing his rice. As for myself, I usually order the curry ramen. It really hits the spot on a cold, rainy day. I order the miso ramen sometimes, but that's only when I feel stuffy. The service is really quick as well and the cost of the dishes are reasonable.

218/365 Came here for a quick dinner on a monday around 830 and the place was fairly empty, only 2 other tables were filled with couples. It was good for us since we didnt have to wait too long for our food. I ordered the chukka ramen and my boyfriend got the char siu ramen. The soup was good but nothing special. Noodles were cooked well, not too soft. Along with the chukka, my bowl also came with seaweed, 1 charsui, 1 slice of fish cake and topped with green onions. The charsiu was alright, it was a bit tough. Overall, not bad at all, i'd definitely like to try their other ramen dishes and even their curry.

Where to start. Genki Ramen for me is just one those places that is unmatched when it comes to the overall food experience, good service, quality of food is good and the price is very good for the type of food you are eating. You can easily spend $8 per person for a full good quality meal. I'd suggest getting the combo c (unagi and gyoza) subbing out the miso for mabo tofu another great dish is the shrimp fried rice (my fave). If your looking for a soup there mabo tofu ramen is a good choice. so it all depends on what you are feeling like eating. Once again service is great ask for there advice if u don't know what get. my final opinion...this place is BOMB Happy eats!!!

Ummm...I'm pretty sure I ate at the same Genki Ramen as the rest of the Yeeps who reviewed this restaurant so I'm dumbfounded as to why there's such a disparity between my rating and everyone else's. Is there a secret menu I don't know about?? Anyhoo. I took a chance on Genki Ramen, hoping that this place could satisfy any future weekend ramen cravings without me having to drive all the way to town to eat at Goma Tei (which is THE BEST). Oh boy. Disappointing. I ordered Combo A which comes with a mini ramen, fried rice & 4pc gyoza. The ramen was meh. The fried rice had no flavor (I had to put shoyu) and the gyoza was so-so. My manfriend (he's too old to be called a boyfriend) had Combo B: wonton ramen, beef curry and 4pc gyoza. I didn't ask him how his ramen was, but I had some of his curry--it was decent. Same lack-luster gyoza. The price was ok, I guess. The combos were about $8 something each. Man, I was REALLY hoping that this place was going to be good. I wasn't expecting Goma Tei quality, but it didn't even come close. In my world, Goma Tei is Cinderella and Genki Ramen is her ugly step-sister. Maybe it's not fair that I'm comparing this place to Goma Tei. So I asked my manfriend after dinner how he liked it. He who has never had the Goma Tei experience said, "This place is junk. I don't think I would eat here again." So the next time I have a ramen craving on the weekend, I will either suck it up and drive to town to get me some Goma Tei...or I will just have to do without. Oh, by the way. As I was eating this sub-standard meal this evening, I started to think about my Yelp review and how disappointed I was with this meal (all while STILL eating!). As we were getting up to leave, I started to feel really bad and left a larger-than-normal tip.

After seeing that Genki Ramen gets decent reviews on yelp, I drove all the way across the island to Mililani Town to try it out. And quite frankly, this place is AWESOME. It's no surprise that they seem to be popping up all over Hawaii. It's quickly turning into a chain! One thing that I like about this restaurant is its comfortable atmosphere. The arrangement of tables/chairs is good, and they have a little Japanese decor inside, its not too much. The service is fast. And they also have some interesting items on their menu (which I have yet to try), such as their special kimchi ramen and the mapo tofu ramen. I hear that the chicken katsu curry is to die for. The ankake rice... it was SOOOO good. Also, I just LOVED their Japanese combination meals. (Ramen, Gyoza, and Fried Rice, Mmmm). And if you go there anytime between 2-5pm they also give you 4 pieces of gyoza free with each order!! Did I mention that I love gyoza? However, truth be told, to me their ramen tasted good but the gyoza did not taste all that great... kind of bland and soggy. (Maybe that's why they give it away for free! haha -- guess no one orders it) Ordinarily I would not give a chain restaurant 5 stars, but in this case, I don't have any reason to remove any stars. For a little hole in the wall, chain Japanese restaurant---surprisingly they get much love from me. ^_^ Genki Ramen doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is actually a very nice restaurant in terms of their food and what all they have on their menu. It's not fine dining, but overall its good food at a fair price. If you haven't tried Genki Ramen, you HAVE to go there. It's great!

  • Ryan K.

Overall it wasn't bad, just didn't stack up to the other Ramen places I've been too. I ordered the Chicken katsu Ramen and 6 pc gyoza, pretty much my standard order at any ramen place. This was the first one where there were noticeably less noodles than the other ramen places, the amount in the regular size here was closer to the mini size at Ramen-ya or Daichi than the regular size there. Broth also didn't seem to have as much flavor and the gyoza were smaller than the other ramen shops as well. Chicken katsu wasn't bad but they don't serve it with Katsu sauce. Service was ok, they didn't come to refill water till I had already stacked my dishes and was done eating, other ramen shops are always really good about this. Not a horrible experience, just lackluster and not in the same league as the other ramen shops in the area.

My new "usual" dish has been the combo B with Ramen instead of Wonton Soup. Yes, you can mix & match but they don't advertise it!

I've been going here since I was a freshman in high school at first I was in love with the Shrimp Curry until a few yrs ago when the shrimp started getting smaller (-1 start) :( but now I am obsessed with the deep fried Gyoza Curry!!! its great! When i moved to Vegas for a few years I missed it soo much. luckily im home now and can eat it at least once a month...unfortunately I go to Genki II nowadays but the original was never disappointing but the Mauka one did not give me enough curry sauce once or twice. Therefore I rated this one instead.

The only place opened to eat at it seemed before a movie on New Years Day. My first Ramen experience and it was pretty good! I had the seafood udon and can say I liked it and would do it again! Warm yummy soup on a cold evening. Good stuff! Quick and cheap too!

Not sure why they call this place 'Genki Ramen', cause all I ever care about when eating here is the chicken katsu curry! Well, okay, I do order the Combo A occasionally, which is the miso ramen that comes with fried rice and gyoza. But the ramen really doesn't define the entire restaurant here; the broth is adequate, but not very flavorful, and the noodles are above average but not great. The fried rice and gyoza are pretty good, though, and that plus the ramen makes for a filling meal. Anyway, on to why I keep coming back here: the chicken katsu curry. For about ten dollars, you get a heaping portion of curry stacked on to chicken katsu stacked on top of rice. For a few dollars more, you can exchange the regular rice for fried rice, too! It's often so much food that I can barely finish it, which means nice mini meal later once I've gotten over the initial food coma. The katsu is nice n crunchy, and the curry, although not very spicy, is very flavorful (really, what is it with these curry places that offer 'mild' or 'hot' curry that is really 'very mild' and 'slightly less mild' in actuality?) I've only actually eaten inside the dining room a couple of times, but it is often packed in there. If you sit at the counter, you can observe the cooks preparing your yummy vittles. Most of the time, though, I order take out over the phone. This is where this place takes a one star hit. There is usually this Japanese woman that answers the phone, who seems very rushed and just wants your order immediately. I mean, the service is fast, but it could stand to be a little more polite, y'know?

Its an ok place for ramen. I keep making the same mistake and ordering the MIso Ramen or the Spicey Seafood Ramen which are both really not that good. Overall, if you just want to get something warm in your stomach and dont really care too much about taste... then this is the place to go. The one thing I do like is their free gyoza in the afternoon.

  • Alycia P.

I come here when I am craving some Ramen or I just need a pick-me-up. Their soup is that good that it just makes me feel better about anything; and their gyoza are amazing! Especially when you come during their "Gyoza Happy Hour" which I believe is 2pm-5pm everyday, but don't quote me on that. I usually sit at the bar next to where the chefs cook up the ramen and other dishes. The waiters/waitresses are very attentive and get you your drink right away. It usually takes less than 10 minutes to receive your ramen, not sure about other main dishes since I usually only get ramen and sometimes free gyoza with it. One of my favorite dishes to get is the Vegetable Ramen. It may have no meat in it, but their broth is so tasty that you don't need any, and if you come during happy hour then you can get your gyoza and stick them in the soup and voila! you have yourself a wonton soup :D So ono (delicious).

Ok, not my FAV ramen place in the world but if you are hungry for some seafood ankake rice. This place will fit the bill if you don't want to drive out into town. Service is always with a smile, my daughter loves the seeweed soup with rice, and the fried rice is aok. Gyoza is ok too. Something about the ramen is just ok, if i could drive out somewhere else, I would.

I can never get tired of this place. I LOVE their curry and fried rice. My favorite is the deep fried gyoza curry rice and the shrimp fried rice. :) Ahhhh I'm hungry now!

Just got back from taking my family there for dinner and was pleased with the food and service. The only downside to the meal was that I ordered shrimp and rice and only received 6 pieces of shrimp on it. Besides that, the service and food was good. Recommend going there.

Genki Ramen is one of my favorite places to eat when I am missing Japan....well, for everything except ramen. When I was stationed in Yokosuka, I would eat ramen at least once a week. I even visited the ramen museum in Yokohama once a month. I know good ramen when I taste it. Genki's Ramen is on the bland/flavorless side and with rediculous portions that almost no one can finish. Expect tons of noodles and bland soap with almost no meat or vegatables. That said, Genki Ramen has wonderful fried rice, yakisoba, gyoza, and curry. Basically, everything except their ramen is fantastic. Aside from the food quality, the staff is very polite, they allow take outs, their portions are enormous, and they have a space with bar style seating if you are dining alone. In the end, I gave Genki Ramen 4 stars. It's really good if you don't order ramen! If they sold only their ramen, I would have to give 1 or 2 stars...

We've been going back about once a month. The food has been very consistent (my daughter ordered the same thing every time). I've been trying different dishes every time. The mochiko chicken was fairly good. The chicken katsu curry was ok with the katsu a bit on the greasy side. The curry udon is very good. And I found my new favorite: spicy seafood ramen. It has just the right amount of heat, tasty soup, fresh seafood (although not that many pieces). Excellent. I also tried the kim chee fried rice. That one isn't so good. I've eaten a lot of kim chee fried rice over the years. This one used kim chee that are too sour and in too big pieces. The sour note overwhelm the whole dish. As usual, go early so you don't have to fight the crowd, especially on weekends.

Speed, cost and taste. If all three are important, this is the place to go! Prices are reasonable, they bring your food out quickly (and you can see it made from your table), and the taste is great! Their Katsu is meaty and crispy, the ramen has great taste, and the fried rice is awesome! If you order a plate between 2 and 5, you get a free order of Gyoza. They also have a loyalty card - buy 10 regular meals and get one free!

  • Julie H.

I looooove this place!!! Combo A all the way! Cheap and yummy! My favorite thing about this place is the fried rice. The combo is two meals for me. I eat the mini ramen and the gyoza and then I take home the fried rice all for less than $10. I think it's under $9 even. But the secret for me is the gyoza sauce. I pour that stuff over my fried rice and it's the best thing ever! I probably wouldn't like it so much without the gyoza sauce. I haven't really had anything else besides the combo but it's cheap and it's good!

  • T B.

Good stuff. The service was unbelievably fast. The AC was blasting so it was a little cold, but once you got your hot ramen everything was fine. We ordered the New Genki Ramen, Mapo Ramen, Gumoku Ramen, 6pc gyoza, and Combo A that had a mini miso ramen, fried rice, and 4pc gyoza. The bowls were massive and the ramen was good. There are better ramen places out there, but this is pretty good. It was so good that I brought my broth back for lunch the next day. :)

go for the happy hour free gyoza. haha. i tend to put a lot of vinegar in the gyoza sauce mix. that's just how i am. i like sitting at the booth as opposed to the tables because i like watching how they cook the noodles. i'm a huge fan of the mabo tofu, and i like it spicy. the prices are really good, and the servers are so friendly. i think they still do those stamp cards where u get a free meal or something after ten stamps.

  • b g.

Been going here since they opened several years ago. I want to try new stuff, but I always end up getting the chicken katsu curry rice because I can be confident it will be good. The cooking is very consistent here. Tastes like they use the same S&B curry base that every other ramen place uses though. Nothing wrong with that, but I wish their curry was more like the Curry House's. My family members also like the seafood crispy noodles, and the combo A. Kim chee fried rice is just ok. Free 4 pc. gyoza from 2-5pm and a "buy 10 plates, get one free" stamp card are great bonuses to this place.

I always get the A combo when I go there before a movie to eat and love it! It comes with ramen mini, gyoza 4piece, and fried rice chicken for me :) It satisfies my need! You won't get top shelf stuff here but you won't have to give them your shoes to pay for dinner either. You get what you pay for and for the price I think this is pretty awesome! My combo was $8.50 and I could not eat all of it in one sitting. I even secretly popped my top pant button. Lol. Shhhh. I always enjoy coming here and will come here when I can. Also the staff is relatively nice. No chit chat, but smiles for miles. Sometimes staff in other restaurants can be too chatty and sometimes don't you just want to eat your food? Well, these people keep it short and sweet. The only thing that is sketchy is that it is right next door to that jewelry shop that got robbed twice in a month, but somehow that intrigues me to go back. Go here, but don't expect a lot and you will like it.

My mommy was sick so I got her some lunch. She said she wanted chicken and rice. It was too hot for soup, she whined in bed. Ok, lets get some katsu curry! Genki Ramen was the first thing to come to mind. Located at Mililani Town Center, it was an easy choice, a short 3 minute drive from my house. I ordered chicken katsu curry, mochiko chicken and and order of gyoza. Mommy should get better with these choices. Got home and ate with my mom. She enjoyed the katsu curry but was expecting vegetables with the curry. I expected the the chicken to covered with curry but the rice was only covered and then the chicken katsu was laid over it. Mom didn't mind the mochiko chicken too much. She said it was dry, which I agreed. It was all right in taste, wish it had that distinguished sweetness that I have come to know with mochiko chicken. The one thing odd that I found between both the chicken katsu curry and the mochiko chicken plates, was that only the mochiko chicken plate came with mac salad where as the katsu curry didn't. No biggie, just found it odd. The gyoza was good, the sauce made it even better. I love that vinegar taste. I had the gyoza swimming in that vinegary goodness. I felt the meal was ok but my mom felt a little better after the meal which meant more to me than my satisfaction of the food.

This Genki Ramen at Mililani Town Center is good and way better than the Mauka Genki Ramen. This review is mainly for the Mililani Mauka Genki Ramen. Mauka Genki Ramen got issues. Just ordered the combo A and the chicken katsu curry from the Mauka Genki Ramen and the food was BLAND and AWFUL! The katsu curry hardly had any CURRY! They poured curry over half the rice and none over the chicken katsu. Katsu curry is not supposed to be eaten this DRY. The fried rice tasted like cardboard! It look good, had all the coloring but tasted awful. This is the last time I go to the Genki Ramen in Mauka. They have serious quality and consistency issues.

I like to order the tasty items like the wonton ramen, their fried rice, spam katsu (if you don't mind eating fattening calories), or mochiko chicken plate. The waitresses are friendly and food usually gets to you at pretty decent time. I have had better japanese food, but I do like this place when I feel like it.

Love their fried rice! I always get their mini ramen combo and if you go during happy hour (2pm-4pm?) you get an additional set of gyoza for FREE! So that's a mini ramen, fried rice, and two sets of gyoza for less than $8. Now that's a good meal. It's quick, cheap & satisfying (hey, I'm talking about food here!). And the service is good - they always make sure your cup is filled with water. This was our staple when living in Mililani. Those were the days...

This location is not as good as the town center unless they have improved their food was bland. Also the last time I ate at the town center it was not that great food was oily like old oil qaulity not up to par like previous. A great restaurant is consistent when this place is good its good when its not its not consistency is the key word here. Glad they started accepting credit cards. For that giving three stars.

Love this place! Huge portions of ramen good for a cold day for around $7-8 depending on what you feel like eating. So yummy every time. Best place to eat around 2-4 pm for their freeee gyoza with every meal!

I love this place, combo A all day, everyday for the rest of my life and I'd be happy! The food has always been good for me except once but that's not a reason to give it less stars. Service is ok, and it does get busy but still the combo A trumps it all. Did I mention how I like to eat here? Thaoski says," 4 out if 5 stars!"

Usually better but tonight was a different story. Cold Noodles ok but they forgot the sauce, Combo A with half the noodles they usually give. The curry was ok but it had some burnt meat inside that tasted terrible. Goyza was undercooked.

I went to the new location on the Mauka side.... If you go at 2pm or after you can get 4 pieces gyoza for free as a Happy Hour special. The gyoza is really good! The ramen is OK and the girl who works there is a little strange but she tries to be nice if you chat her up. We had the Mapo Tofu Ramen and seaweed soup and 4 pieces gyoza.... If i ever go again, I will try the first restaurant Genki Ramen 1 in the Mililani Shopping Center. The only downside is that I can really taste the MSG afterward.. My tounge gets numb from all the MSG...Bad bad bad....MSG is bad for your health. =p I dont think I will go again unless i'm lazy to make a curry. i'd rather have PHO

This place is great for that quick fix if you want curry over rice or over anything really. here's a tip: order ahead over the phone and bring cash. Cuts down on your time. Also, call ahead to find out when the happy hour is, you get free gyoza with every entree you order!!!!

Genki Ramen in Mililani Town Center is AWESOME. I like it cuz if you go there in the afternoon during their happy hour you get free gyoza! Also - their combo plates are great, i cant ever eat it all. My favorite is Combo A which is Ramen, Pork Fried Rice, and Gyoza. Everyone i've ever taken to eat there has loved it. Even the waitresses there are nice. They remember me every time!

Been here once with my bf and we both felt that the ramen was fairly bland. I ordered the special kim chee ramen and he ordered the mapo tofu ramen. The portions are huge, but the soup was tasteless and boring. The kim chee used in the ramen tasted like it came straight out of a store-bought bottle. The veggies were undercooked and ramen noodles were very mushy. My bf's mapo tofu ramen was a little better, as the mapo tofu added more flavor to the broth, but it had a sour after taste...as if they added too much cornstarch/flour to thicken the sauce. Call me picky, but I've had ramen from all across the country, as well as in Japan, so I feel that I'm being generous by giving two stars to this place. I'm not saying that the ramen needs to be made by experts in order to taste good, I'm simply asking for a rich broth with fresh ingredients and properly cooked noodles. How hard is that? I guess the prices are justifiable if you don't mind eating large quantities of bland food.

I couldn't find the New Genki II page but I think they're the same owners? Haha, I hope so! Anyway I love this place. Portions are big, and price is fairly cheap. Their chicken katsu curry and gyoza is really good (go during happy hour when you get one free), but I'm honestly not a fan of their ramen...it's too bland for me.

  • Jennifer S.

Perhaps I should have ordered the ramen at Genki Ramen, but I was craving mochiko chicken. I saw it on the menu and decided to try a new place. My chicken was tough and overcooked. My rice tasted a little funky - maybe from the cabbage on the bottom? $7.50 for chicken, two scoop rice, and mac salad seemed like a good deal, but not when the chicken was barely edible. No option for tossed salad substitute, either. The upside? Takeout was ready quickly and my food was hot. But there are much better options in Mililani Town Center just as fast! I might go back to try the ramen, but it won't be soon.

This was one of my favorite restaurants to get food at as a child. And I still love it till this day. Mmmmm and I love the way they make their gyoza. It's one of my favorite places to get chicken katsu curry. The place is small, don't expect the most amazing service, but overall I think this place has great food.

How have I never reviewed this place? I've been eating here for the past decade, as it is my favorite place for chicken katsu curry. Ok, so the secret is out. I LOVE chicken katsu curry. I tell people I don't eat fried chicken, and I don't. Unless it is covered in curry. Then somehow the full plate disappears while I am not paying attention. Luckily for me the restaurant serves a good bowl of ramen and tasty gyoza as well, so it is pretty easy to convince my men to join me at the table. I'm a gyoza fan as well, so we aim for happy hour and are all very happy.

My husband loves the chicken katsu with curry rice! Can't find anywhere else that makes it this good... We've tried other more expensive places but Genki is always the best! Staff is friendly & ready to accommodate their customers even when the whole family decides to show up for lunch. Calling in orders for pick up has always worked out great too.

this place was good, but service was alright.... we walked in and they were scrubbing the floors, all which seemed to be the cooks. there was only one waitress there working & she seemed stressed out haha. kinda wondered why they were doing such deep cleaning mid-day...

Love their deep fried gyoza! The shrimp and pork fried rice is also really good. The service is fast and friendly. It gets pretty busy sometimes but somehow the wait for a table and for the food is never outrageously long. The food is well priced and the portions are pretty big so they can be easily shared between many people.

I'm not a huge ramen expert, but i've tried many ramens, and Genki Ramen is top dog! Every time I come in, the food is always the same and always good! I always leave pretty satisfied. And omg, happy hour?! Are you kidding? Free 4 piece gyoza?!?! Spoiled much... But really, their gyoza is the ishh. I've tried their wonton ramen, seafood ramen, vegetable ramen, fried rice, and idk. I'd say I tried a lot. Haha the ramen bases are all pretty much the same. The seafood is good, not super fresh seafood or anything but it's still good. Their fried rice is just so yummy! Specially if you add gyoza + chili sauce, MMMMMM. They have the best gyoza sauce too! How the hell do they make it?! Oh, I love that you can see the guys making your food! Anyway, I live so close to them that my sister and I go here fairly often.

Not that great. Tastes like plain shoyu and water. Soup was also salty. Will not recommend this place.

My son loves the fried gyoza curry rice. That is all that he orders now. I typically eat the combination B, which includes won ton soup (no noodles), curry rice and gyoza. The won ton soup is a little on the salty side, but not so much that it is off putting. Curry is pretty good Japanese style. Overall a good place to fet a bite.

  • Bobby S.

Prices - very reasonable Flavor - above average Service - mom and pop business friendly Location - convenient I ordered Combo B - $8.50 Beef curry over rice 4 pcs. gyoza Wonton ramen Gyoza - average ramen gyoza Beef curry had the right amount of spice. I substituted the Wonton ramen for the Mabo tofu udon, one of my fave. They charge you a little more for substituting the combo, but I'm hooked. Thank you for keeping the prices reasonable.

This is a Mililani classic! The service is meh, the ramen tastes watery, and there isn't much seating BUT somehow, I always find myself back at "New" Genki Ramen. The must try is the chicken katsu curry rice, which is still my favorite curry on the island. Don't get ramen, you will be disappointed. The fried rice is amazing, and don't even think about skipping gyoza. Waaaayyyy better than Gomatei's sad excuse for potstickers! They also have some cool combo deals where you can get a taste of everything. Just don't come for the hospitality and you'll be A-OK.
