I would not have stopped by L&L at all, except I saw a picture of a ramen burger in a magazine and had to try it out. I know there are ramen burgers elsewhere, but I knew where this place was and my husband and I wanted quick, simple food. Stopped by during the extremely quiet hour or so before closing on Sunday. Order was taken quickly and politely. Food took long enough to cook, no long wait. Ultimately the ramen burger isn't anything to write home about, but was tasty and I'm glad we tried it. Also got a plate of loco moco. Really tasty brown gravy, and I gobbled up their macaroni salad, which is usually a dish I hate.

Local color place to get a lot of food for cheap price. This is where you will find the locals eating grub! Good food. Good price. Sizable portions! This is just what I was looking for!

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. The male employees were taking pictures of me waiting for my food, while they were standing behind the counter in the kitchen. How sneaky were they? Let's see... Their flash was on, their giant iPhones were sticking out, & they struggled to hide it when I looked over. I have never felt so degraded & violated. I don't know what these photos will be used for. I am NOT an object of display. Of all my L&L experiences, this tops the charts. I will never return. They use their phones while working... That should say enough of how seriously they take their work & how well their service is.

I have had good experiences at other l&l's but this one is the worst. After ordering dinner for my family I asked for a cup of water and the lady pointed at the no free water sign. I will never return here. Avoid!!!!

Terrible service! It was very busy, but there were MANY people who ordered after me and got their orders before me, even people with much larger orders. THEN when I FINALLY got my food, 25 minutes after I ordered, there was no "Sorry for the wait" or "Thanks for waiting." Never coming here again. There are lots of other places on Kauai with faster and nicer service, go somewhere else. Update: I posted the above before I opened my food. Chicken katsu bowl has like 6 strips, is mostly rice and vegetables, and the chicken is soggy. Seriously worse L&L EVER! :(

Ordered a Teriyaki Steak Bowl and the girl at the register gave me a disgusted look. She was extremely rude to me for no reason. When I handed her my debit card she ripped it out of my hand and tossed it back to me. It took almost 15 minutes for my food to get to me for some reason and when she called my order and I walked up she rolled her eyes at me and just dropped it on the counter. I didn't use any tone or anything, i was polite as usual. This was my first time on Kauai to visit a friend since im from Honolulu and i don't know this girl in question so I have no idea what warranted her to treat me with such blatant disrespect.

Much better than the chicken in a barrel next door. The barbecue bowl was really good and reasonably priced. It came with barbecue chicken, short ribs and a Teri steak. They were all good but the short ribs really stood out.

My wife and I just visited this restaurant on our honeymoon and enjoyed the food so much that we came back a second time, and also dined at another L&L restaurant. Previously we had never eaten at this restaurant chain. Both times I ordered the large BBQ chicken plate and received four large pieces of boneless chicken leg, two scoops of white rice, macaroni, and salad. One time my wife ordered a BBQ chicken lunch plate, and the other time she ordered the Mahi Mahi dinner plate. The food is very good, and the price is reasonable. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

L&L located in the food court with other restaurants like McD, Chinese, and local foods. The line here was literally out the door Sunday lunch time. After the long line came the long wait for our food. Seems only one guy up front taking orders (cashier & server). And one guy in the back filling orders. They need more man power to service this establishment. Ended up going across the way to the Local restaurant as well while waiting for our L&L food. (Which was quick and good) Food is decent. Better to eat out at the food court cuz its way too hot inside the restaurant. would I go back. Yep. Prob not during the lunch rush.

Had the saimin, pork and cabbage, and mahi plate lunch. Nothing like what was pictured. Mahi was really thin. saimin was like McDonald's but with more garnishes. Not tasty. Pork and cabbage was ok. lunch for 2 counter service wo tip over 26 bucks. Not worth it.

I agree with the other two reviewers, service is weird. But not in a "so good this is weird way". More like in a "were you just rude to me? I think you might have been rude to me" kind of way. There's a little Hawaiin fast food place back home that has the same exact food and just as good. Not impressed and probably would not go back.

Read a previous review of this place, and I agree that the service is kinda weird.. I ordered a hamburger, fries, drink, and spam musubi. When my order was ready, the girl at the counter has each individual item there on the counter.. no bag, tray, or container for it all.. like im supposed to juggle it while i walk around to find a place to sit.. or maybe she expected me to eat it there at the counter, shit i dont know. Anyways, I was a little too weirded out to ask for a bag, so I just dumped it all in my tote bag and left.

So disappointed. Spam musubi was horrible! BBQ chicken was not good. Garlic shrimp was not good. Macaroni salad was ok.

L&L is always a great place to eat. Tried a lot of the menu items, none were bad. Two weeks on Kauai, we ate at all three L&L locations. I am not sure why the Princeveille location is not on Yelp, it was the best one. Extremely reasonable prices, w/large portions.

i loveeeeeeeee the bbq chicken plate. it's so ono. and for $7?! can't beat it. my only complaint is the sometimes sassy order-taker girl.

I give this place five stars because it is comfort food to the MAXIMUM!! I had their oxtail soup and short rib bbq plate. It comes with a heap of sticky white rice and macaroni salad. I visited this place twice in Kauai and I would have visited again if I didn't have to go home back to the mainland. I guess I am glad that there isn't one where I live. I would be 350 lbs!!

I ended up here by accident, trying to escape a rain storm and looking merely for shelter. But it smelled so good in here! So I ordered the Mahi Mahi plate, and my husband ordered a BBQ combo plate. So good I couldn't stop til my plate was cleaned. So good that I could not stop thinking about it... and I had to go back during our honeymoon. All the delicious food we ate.. all the fine, luxury meals... yet nothing seemed quite as delicious or as comforting as the Mahi Mahi, white rice and noodle salad at L&L. I had some orange passion fruit juice on the side. I got the hubby to try the chicken katsu on our second trip, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Thank god there's an L&L in north Phoenix, or I'd surely be lost. There is no substitute. At least not around here.

You're kidding, right? Horrible local food, wierd service ( if you try the place, you'll know what that means). Overpriced buffet style served food. There are several places in the Kukui Grove Shopping center that taste better, and offer better value. A total disappointment.

L&L is just l&l. Desperate for some Kalua pork, we quickly found that was a tall order to fill on a Sunday at 3pm on an island we don't know our way around. Most of the super tasty sounding locals spots seemed to be closed on Sunday.

The bbq mix plate was so yummy and for only $8! I got the fried rice with it and couldn't stop eating it!

This is a great place to eat on a budget. If you are visiting Hawaii and are looking for an area to cut cost, you can save on breakfast here. Two LocoMoco meals and two drinks came to under 15.00. We saved on breakfast (sometimes lunch) and splurged on dinner out. The food is pretty tasty, and there are tons of options and specials. The other plus is its open late, and its in a shopping center.

Even though this is really a fast food chain that can also be found here in the states, the food is really good and it's quick. So of course when I was in Hawaii, I had a craving and decided to come here. My favorite dishes are their chicken katsu, kahlua pork, and loco moco. The loco moco is just two hamburger patties with eggs served over easy on top and gravy over it. I love the macoroni salad that comes with every plate...so good. And the best part is that it's cheap! An entree will cost you about $7-8 only.

Cheap, but gross food. Most disgusting bathroom in the world -- we should have left without our food after seeing that. And it's called L&L's Drive Inn, but there is no drive thru.

L&L is a favorite of ours in california. they had a larger menu, and some items they have in california, they do not have here. we were feenin for some kalua pig, and we got our fix here. we got the kalua pig special and teriyaki plate. both come with rice and macaroni salad. i'd have to say i was a bit disappointed with the kalua pig. it was a bit overcooked, and tasteless, i had drench it in soy sauce to bring the flavor out. the teriyaki on the other hand was pretty bomb.
