Wow wow wow! My new husband and I were in Kauai last week to get married and used Contemporary Flavors Catering (Marks Place) as our caterers. They were fantastic in every single way! Dealing with Wendy and Cathy was a breeze, they answered emails in a timely manner and were eager and willing to answer every question we had. On our wedding day they were professional and had everything under control. The staff were friendly, efficient and did everything we asked and more! The food was absolutely outstanding! We has numerous guest tell me that it was by far the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding and we would have to agree! Thank you so much to everyone at Contemporary Flavors Catering / Marks Place, your food and service were outstanding and above any expectations we had!

Looking for ono plate lunch on Kauai? Pick up one at Sone's! So, it's located in a mall across from an arcade and McDonalds. Did that deter me from giving it 5 stars?! No. It was that good. Go there, get a plate lunch and take it to whatever your idea of a picturesque setting should be. My picks are lemon shoyu chicken, miso shoyu chicken and Korean fried chicken. Yeah, I had a thing for their chicken. For their fried chicken, they include the skin deep fried to perfection! Don't you dare say you'd throw that part away! I was born on Kauai, but visiting from Los Angeles so good fried chicken skin consumption had been low for a while. You are not eating real plate lunch unless something is bound to be bad for your cholesterol. However, the food at Sone's isn't all fried bad goodness. You can for sure find some healthier options and of course receive some island hospitality to leave you with a lot of aloha in your soul.
Great local food. The meatloaf is some of the best I have ever eaten. You get a ton of food for a very good price. It's a perfect lunch spot.
I always go here on my lunch break, the uncle always knows what I want. It's either the Teriyaki meatloaf, or the Fried Chicken at the end. Always good.

Best fish tacos i've had on the south end of the island! Quick seating and they made every effort to seat a large group of us and did a great job! Very pleasant atmosphere! Reasonable prices too !
Boy had da Teri Steak Plate, he said was good, plenny meat. Had 1 scoop rice n Mac salad, he said "need mo rice." I had da Curry Stew Plate, Curry was Ono. We also had 1 small Fries, which for 2$ was little bit. All in all was ok. Boy said he would go back agn, but not fo Fries :) nex time, I'd try da Fried Chicken Steak plate, which is served as a "certain day" special, on THURSDAYS... da pikcha, look good :)
Please make sure you are rating the CORRECT Keoki's!! This is not Keoki's Paradise in Poipu, this is Keoki's in the Lihue Industrial Park! And they still make the most addictive double teri cheeseburgers!! Please Keoki's, bottle and sell your teri sauce!! I've been eating here for at least 25 years and it gets better and better every week!

The Greenery Cafe

Definitely worth checking out, Dane and his wife are serving up food that is spot on in a very pleasant, quaint setting. The mung bean ginger soup was great, perfectly light for a semi-warm day. Kale salad was bright and fresh. Collard greens and grits were plain and simple, but in a good way with the nostalgic taste of home cooking. If you show up at a slow time, you can expect a minor wait for your food as they spring to work getting everything cooked up fresh (to me, a very good thing).
On our fifth day on Kauai we were ready for some flavorful and healthy food that didn't break the bank. We usually eat really clean and also love gourmet food. Greenery Cafe is awesome! I had the special, ahi salad with vegan Caesar dressing on the side and my husband had the fried fish plate which was ahi so lightly fried with Cajun spices on it that it was clearly still super healthy. The side of cornbread was cake-like he said. I asked for a side of gluten free bread which tasted like dessert to me with jam on it...ahh. The coconut crush coffee was the surprise amazing bonus, we got ours unsweetened. Service was great and it's owned by a really friendly couple.
This is a hidden gem, don't be sidetracked by the location. Its behind a home, but that adds to the ambiance. Neina is super sweet and the food incredible and healthy. Will be back!!

Extremely busy during lunch - workers working at full capacity. Be patient, food is worth it!
A definite local spot. No indoor seating. Great portions.
HUGE portions. You can definitely share with your friend or cuz. I had the mark's special with teri beef and it was so delicious. They even had a butter mochi that was to die for. There is no indoor seating for this place. But we did enjoy sitting out on the benches outside while we talk story with the locals. It's a pretty hidden place too so look carefully when finding.

Old hotel but well maintained. The GOOD: Nicely keep grounds Complimentary use of snorkel gear Free coffee in the AM near the office Nice front office staff (Sharon) Mini fridge in room Micro wave in room Large 45" flat panel tv in room Full size ironing board in room Coin operated laundry room Free Wifi (when you can receive it) Free parking The BAD Ants in room Roosters crowing about 24 hrs a day Max depth of swimming pool is 3 ft. Loud music coming from event building across the street. No phone in room $5.00 to do a load of wash Mosquitos in the early morning before dawn Surrounded by mountains, no water view Very bad wifi signal. Connects about 30% of the time Very bad cell signal ( verizon ) . Mostly 3G and 1X with scattered 1 bar 4G. Any quality of connection is only about 50% of the time, then no coverage at all. Did not receive "how was your stay" or "thank you for staying with us" upon our checkout.
It was 8:20pm and me and my fellow coworkers were eating at the BBQ grill and the owner came out and was swearing at us saying its too late and that he wasn't going to take this (explicit swear word)!!!! He gave no warning and seemed drunk!!! Our company always has someone in one of their rental rooms EVERY WEEK!!! Mind you we weren't even loud. This will be the last time we stay at their hotel!!!
We stayed at the Kauai Inn on a recent 8 night vacation in Kauai. We were all four a big fan of the Inn. It is a great budget inn with rooms starting around $99, which is pretty good in Kauai. It is off the beaten path some, but is is only 3 miles from the airport, two miles to Costco and close to a lot of food in Lihue. The rooms are solid and they do have a fridge which was awesome to be able to go to Costco and stock up on a few items. They do also have a laundry room if you happen to need it but I hear the dryer takes awhile so you would have to be patient! The staff was all very friendly and willing to give suggestions. The inn is located about in the south side of the island which is a good location as it will take you similar time to go to the end of the road in each direction: north to Ke'e beach and west to Polihale beach. I recommend the Kauai Inn if you want a simple, laid back place to stay that doesn't have anything fancy that will cost you more than necessary.

Great little donut shop. They sell out early tho, so if youre going to get there after about 9am, call and have the girl put your favorite donuts aside for ya. The bearclaws are da bomb.
Got here at 8:30 am and they were almost out of donuts! What we tried though was really good, especially the glazed donut with the lighter, fluffier style dough. The lady at the counter couldn't have been nicer! Get here early!

This place is perfect for breakfast! Great location and great view!! The nice people makes the place even better!!
Really good food at good prices! Loco moco for breakfast was delicious. Husband loved his sausage breakfast sandwich. We enjoyed the food here so much and the fact that it was in walking distance from our resort that we went over to get their burgers (on taro bun--yum!) to-go and headed back to the resort pool. If you can snag a seat upstairs, yummy breakfast with killer view.
Loved this little place! We stayed at the Marriott in Lihue and wanted a casual meal with the kids. We got burgers, the fish sandwich and taro fries. All were very good. It's not super fast as its popular and there are only two guys in the back making all these food but it's worth the wait. Upstairs seating. No alcohol so BYBO!

Went for lunch, service was great and the food was good. Nothing to complain about. Had the Ahi Poke, served in a half coconut with taro chips, very cool. I don't normally have desert, but I went for the coconut and banana pie, straight up amazing. Nice setting on a plantation.
***** 3 stars because of service ***** Rant - no one served us in the bar after we approached the bar (sat in there pre dinner for about 30 minutes). Hostesses were quite nice, polite and accommodating. Sat at our table for 15 mins before waiter approached and nervously asked for drink order than left. Didn't tell us the specials, just left. Another 15 mins for drinks. We saw our support staff more frequently then the waiter. I ordered the prime rib and waiter never brought the steak knife until I was 1/2 done. Waiter didn't ask if we wanted dessert but the wonderful support staff did. Waiter was very off. Food was great. blue crab dip, prime rib, and seared ahi were great. Melted in our mouths and seasoned well. Ambience wonderful and live music at right the volume.
I came in there for dinner for the first time. Very cute place, I love the natural stone and lanai. Service was great. Our waiter was very pleasant and had a nice first impression of the busser david. Food was great, loved the choices on the menu, made it hard to decide. (In a good way) I went with the filet mignon and it was amazing. I plan to bring my family back.
