3rd time I have gone here and that they have closed early! Not cool. Considering your food takes 2 minutes to make. It doesn't make sense to close super early. I have worked in restaurants for 15 years and we have to serve people until 9:59 pm if we close at 10pm. Its crazy that a national chain would close early. If you aren't getting enough business.. Close early officially. Don't advertise a different time for closing. Its such a bummer. Please fix the times.

I VISIT MCDONALD'S WHEN I'M IN MAUI AND DAMN PROUD ---- NO SHAME AT ALL! McDonald's Hawaii has banana pies! Flaky on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside! And the price, you can't beat it --- 99 cents! Hell yeah, my hubby and I grubbed on those pies for two days in a row! They also serve it a-la-mode ---- woah! And if you're into Spam, hit up McDonald's in the mornings, they serve spam, eggs, and rice! The rice is a little hard, so sprinkle some soy on top --- and you are set! You know, if McDonald's provided Sriracha hot sauce, I would have totally given them 5 stars.

How do you rate a McDonalds? The food is crap and tastes like cardboard with seasoning. The employees are unhappy and ready for suicide. The seating area is very nice and pretty clean but other than that, its a McDonalds. BLAH!!

  • Stacy S.

First let me start off by saying that I came here for breakfast at 5:30am because it was the only place that was open at that hour. That being said, what I like about it is that they have some Hawaiian related food items, such as the Portuguese sausage, eggs & rice for breakfast! Not to mention that they actually have good coffee, too! This McDonalds was very clean, and the food came out fast. I'm giving it 3 stars because the Portuguese sausage wasn't as tasty as I remember it to be when I lived on Oahu. The slices were much thicker, but not as flavorful. Overall, not bad when this is the only place open for breakfast!

For starters, its my own fault for going to McDonalds when there is so much great food in Maui, but regardless..... We asked the dude who was taking our order twice if there was a "super size" or size above the large order for French fries, and he just looked at us like we were crazy and never answered. I ordered nuggets, and they gave us a side of BBQ sauce so I went back and asked for sweet and sour sauce and he made me exchange the BBQ. My friend ordered a filet of fish sandwich and asked for extra tarter sauce - they charged her $1 for a small side of tarter and the pitiful little squirt of tarter sauce they considered "extra" that came on the sandwich. I don't know if it's just Maui, but I have NEVER been charged extra for sauce before. Come on McDonalds, don't be so cheap!

McDonald's How about a local platter with scrambled eggs, white sticky rice, 2 slices of Spam and Portuguese sausage? Yeah baby! Tasty but you get a weeks worth if salt in a single sitting! Yes, it was good! Love coconut? Try their coconut pie!

  • Joleen Q.

I was a little disappointed that I heard that this McDonald's would have a lot of Island specialties but when I got there there was nothing with Taro and it was not breakfast so I didn't get to see if they had the spam. I thought they would have Ramen but they didn't have that either. I ended up getting a banana pie which was yummy with an ice cream cone.

  • Chantal T.

McD's in Hawaii? Yup! This place is a good alternative if you're sick of all the fresh seafood (first world problems) or are craving something heartier and fast. Instead of having the Big Breakfast, order spam/rice/eggs. So awesome. For dessert, either get the banana pies or the taro pies. Yum!

    (4)
  • Ray S.

I stopped by to get some taro, banana and coconut pie, but they only have serves coconut and apple pie, and the girl i talked to doesn't even know taro pie....I guessed it was a special promotion...

It's ducking McDonalds. It's good don't get caught up with the overpriced maui crap. Hot salty French fries sweet savory coke and double cheeseburgers by the bucketfull. Simple food as good as it was when I was 7. Fuck yeah

    (4)
  • Leona S.

Hawaii is notorious for having expensive food. It's often nice to have something familiar and something constant like Mickey Ds. Granted, their menu prices were slightly higher, it was still very affordable, tasted the same, and was clean!! I appreciate that. Good location too with plenty of parking.

  • Harold J.

I don't know what it is about Maui McDonalds, but they are way better about service and cleanliness than their eastern counterparts.

  • Shakira E.

Ok I know, I know this is just a McDonald's but I tell you what this is a fair priced McDonald's with better than average tasting McFood. Breakfast Sandwiches are served nice and hot, hash browns hot and tasty without the nasty greasy aftertaste,e even the coffee is good and doesn't taste burnt. When we are in Maui this is where we eat breakfast at least twice during our stay. This last time they had Banana pies that were so freakin delicious and I mean they already had me with their fried apple pies but c'mon banana OMG. The only thing is they are only for a limited time and as I write this review they probably are not even selling them now. They have Free WiFi which is a plus and to be able to take a respite after a day at the beach to check your emails and catch up on what people on the mainland are doing.

rice, spam , and eggs! why can't this make it to cali, please!

  • Bert K.

This review is for Hawaii specific foods, like Portugese sausage and rice; that's about it: they serve it and the taste is boring. Both were blah. Just stick to regular Mc Food. We had a 3 year old in tow; so we frequented Mc Ronald's a few times. customer service: poor.

    (1)
  • Chad Michael L.

This McDonalds sucks. The customer service blows. I've seen people get mad because they couldn't get a simple order like a cup of coffee right. They barely speak English there & don't understand the concept of fast food. Instead everyone stands by the door waiting for them to yell out your order for everyone to hear all while confusing new customers who come in thinking there is a big line or something. And no, this wasn't just an isolated incident because I went several times over the course of 2 weeks at different times of the day. If you speak Japanese you'll be ok

  • Bean M.

This review is for breakfast. This particular location does indeed have the spam plate, and was prepared quickly and tasted correct. It comes with rice and macaroni. There's also a Portuguese sausage option, which I didn't try. Other than that, it's a decent McDonalds. The Egg McMuffin tasted the same as at other McDonalds, the Sausage Egg McMuffin tasted the same as at other McDonalds. Pros: -They're open early (some of the local cafes don't open until 10am) -Good amount of indoor seating -Food was as consistent as all the other McDonalds I went too -clean -friendly staff Other: -It's a relatively cheap breakfast (for example, when compared to the $17 breakfast dish I ordered at Longhi's), but on the expensive side compared to other McDonalds (about a dollar more, example 5.40 - 6.50 for breakfast combos, instead of 4.40 - 5.50 at other locations). Cons: -staff a little tight -Same cons as any other McDonald's you would visit (whatever you don't like about any other McDonald's would be true here too). ---for example, like other McDonalds, they have a busy drive-thru, which the staff usually prioritizes over sit-down guys

    (4)
  • Divine M.

Quick, tasty and reliable. Drove-thru one night for dinner. Mickey D's did not disappoint.

    (5)
  • Wilson L.

Another one of those places that are cheap, and very affordable as opposed to everything else in Maui. They laughed when I ordered a Happy Meal. Hey! Lay off because they were giving away Nintendo toys!

    (4)
  • Geoff H.

Seriously, McDonald's? Who visits Maui for McDonald's?

    (1)
  • Keilab A.

I like how the menu includes spam, rice, and SAIMIN!! I was like WHAT, THEY SELL NOODLES AT MICKEY D'S???? WELL THEY SURE DO, and it tastes delicious. YUM. But in don't like how the workers are not as friendly as other restaurant staff.

    (4)
  • Gary R.

How is it that a McDonalds in Maui is more affordable than California? Well, it is! If you have kiddos that can only stomach so much Hawaiian fine cuisine, then this is their oasis. Free WiFi. This location is nicely situated north of Ka'anapali and just south of Kapalua.

  • Andre E.

This is the local McDonald's near our timeshare property......about 10 mintues up the road in Lahaina....stays open late....great customer service....very fast and efficient service...and the Banana Pies which are served for only a limited time each year here....are in a word.....DELICIOUS. Yeah ladies and gentlemen I am talking about a McDonald's......that's right McDonald's.....this is a great place to come late especially if your craving a good meal at a decent price. I can't finish this review without saying that the apple pies and banana pies are deep fried and flaky....unlike on the mainland where they are baked....and trust me there is a difference. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for me to visit for years to come when I visit Maui. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry my Friends!!!!!

  • Will T.

One of the cleanest McD's I have ever stepped into. Great friendly Hawaiian service with a smile! Luv the extended Hawaiian flavored menu especially for breakfast.....spam, portugese sausage, eggs and rice!!! And the bananna pie is so hot and yummy =) Best tasting and favorite dish of all time so far from all the McD's I have visited around the world!
