We had wonderful time staying here. The woman who worked at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had an ocean view room with a nice balcony, and we spent a good amount of time just enjoying the view and people watching from our balcony. The room was clean, and had everything we needed while on vacation. Lahaina was so much fun to walk around, with good options for food, shaved ice, and coffee. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, and did some signtseeing in Lahaina and every experience was wonderful. For the location, the room rates were actually very reasonable. I can't wait to come back and stay here again.

Worst night of sleep! Kitchen was blasting Hispanic music late into the night and making all kinds of noise. The shower didn't work ran only freezing water. Front desk made snide remarks about us not looking like we can afford the restaurant and never greeted us with a hello or anything! $15 parking, and no help with luggage up big flights of stairs.

Mold!!! Do not book at this place unless you want your respiratory system to be screwed up your entire trip. Luckily it was a one nighter for us and we woke up at 6 am and got outta there. There was mold all over the bathroom and when I went back to the Inn the next day to inform the front desk her reply to me was that it must have been rust......seriously wtf. Rust is not black and does not cause your lungs and chest to hurt. This place should be shut down immediately. It is hazardous to your health and should be avoided at all costs.

This place is like the illegitimate child of the Royal Lahaina Resort. The parent company takes care of it, but just barely. When we arrived, there was nobody at the front desk. Eventually, we saw that we had to call the Royal Lahaina Resort to get somebody to check us in. (Somebody working security at the Royal Lahaina actually had to drive over to us to check us in!) We stayed in the Makai room, which seemed to be bigger than the others. (We didn't pay more for this room; we just booked a standard room from hotels.com .) There was also a nice view of the ocean from the Lanai! Other than that, the room had the absolute bare basics: bed, bath, and TV. As a guest, we were also entitled to all the amenities at the Royal Lahaina Resort, but, realistically, it's a hassle to get there, and I really didn't need to use any of them. It gets very noisy starting at about 5 am, (delivery trucks, restaurant employees working downstairs, pedestrians, etc.), so, if you're not an early riser, this place is not for you. Also, the Inn tries to charge you $15 per night to park in their lot, but there is a $6 lot right next to it. Luckily, we declined the parking offer. Even though there were a lot of negatives, it worked for us, the price was right, and the location was great!

We live in Honolulu and like to come over here from time to time for a little vacation I really loved this little hotel we had a great view from the lanai we met the manager evett was her name she was very nice as well as the lady who was cleaning the rooms. It's a simple place no (free) internet and had to pay for parking but other than that this place was great. Will be back and staying in same room next time

I must have had the same room as Georgia M. because the toilet was circulating water all night (#7). Either that or they did not fix it. The hotel is in a good location and has been restored nicely. It has wi-fi which can be accessed in the upstairs lounge and some of the time from my street facing balcony. I was by myself for the weekend so it was ok. I think next time when I want a romantic get away I will probably visit a resort. You have to want to stay here for the experience or convenience for it to be a good choice. I had 4 spring breaker girls next door and I could hear them being loud. The walls are pretty thin. I also was taking a nap with the "do not disturb" sign on the door and the cleaning guy felt it necessary to knock on two separate occasions with in an hour waking me both times. Seriously not cool.

We stayed here recently for 2 nights during our trip to Maui. We stayed in one of the standard rooms. The downside to staying here is the parking is half a block away (but these are reserved parking spots) and the standard rooms are VERY small (I've stayed in hotels in Hong Kong and they are about that same size), but they do have larger suites available. My bf and I each had a suitcase and we couldn't even open it on the floor. Since we didn't spend much time in the room other than to rest, we enjoyed everything else about this place. When you walk downstairs and out the front door, you are literally in the middle of everything in Lahainatown. During the evenings, we could walk to all the restaurants, shops, and the beach. Great alternative to the condos and resorts that tend to dominate most of island.

The Lahaina inn is a nice old fashioned style spot to stay in a good part of Lahaina. Many places to eat are in walking distance and parking is easy in back or your rental. Yummy fresh juice and pastries await you in the hall each morning. Only tip is NOT to get a rear facing room as the garbage trucks and leaf blowers will wake you up when the sun is just coming up...

You can't beat the location around the corner from front street where all the action is very quant and clean. A very simple bed and breakfast without the breakfast. They do have a nice little cafe next door to them. A no frills inn with broken beds, we thought it was just our room but the guest next to us had a broken bed also. My wife and I kept rolling to the middle of the bed luckily is was just the first leg of our honeymoon.

We stayed in room 8 but also rented room 12. Great location (lots of shopping and great beach views). Affordable for the area but it is a very small room. Maintenance and cleanliness needs serious improvement. Here's a more detailed list for those who want more info! PROS: 1) Great location! It is located right off of Front St in Lahaina. Lots of shopping, food choices and beautiful beach views. 2) One of the cheapest places to stay in the area per night. 3) Fifty percent of the time you will get a nice person helping you at the desk. 4) Has a sister hotel (Royal Lahaina Resort, 4.3 miles away) and you can use their pool and other amenities. 5) We arrived a couple hours early. The friendly gal at the desk put our rooms at the top of the list to clean and called us when they were ready. We were able to check in early. 6) Has a balcony. On the balcony you have a great view of a parking lot. Great for people watching as they enter and exit their cars. CONS: 1) $15 dollar a day parking fee. The parking spots are not right outside. This may make luggage transportation a bit annoying depending on how much you have, and how many muscles are available to carry it all up the stairs. 2) Looks like a hotel that was used for a 1930's horror film. I expected pale children with wispy voices to pop up randomly (this may be a pro if you're into that sort of stuff). 3) Rooms are not kept up. The hardwood floors are in need of a redoing, the walls were dirty, the rugs look old and should be retired, the bathrooms need an urgent upgrade. 4) Cleanliness is not a priority. The floors weren't swept (there was a dead bee on the floor and dirt), when we pulled back the sheets there were many human hairs on the bed, the bathrooms came adorned with hair of the human variety as well, the grout on the tile floor in the bathroom was very dirty, the shower had mold and other unidentified gunk in random places (I kept my flip flops on in the shower). 5) Very very small room. If you have lots of things with you, you might want to reconsider. On a side note, the two rooms we rented were different sizes. Room 12 is a bit bigger than room 8. 6) The shower water temperature fluctuates dramatically. There were portions of my shower that were ice cold and the rest was lukewarm with a side of hot. This was the most disappointing part of the stay. 7) There is one person running the show and it is hard to reach someone at the front desk if you need something or have a question. They do provide a number for their sister resort at the front desk if you want to reach someone immediately. Good luck with finding the right place for you!

I was here for an important job interview and happened on this place after a total disaster with another place I had reserved online. Not only were they able to accomodate me short notice but gave me a discount rate. The room I got was very peaceful with a lovely large deck looking out over the innner courtyard, was clean and comfy, and the parking was just a short walk away. On top of that the front desk woman was so incredibly kind and supportive, even giving me advice about my interview. I have nothing but praise for my stay here, and after the stressful bit of my trip I got to enjoy the fun being right in the heart of Lahaina! BTW, I was offered the job.

Stayed in a wonderful room with a big balcony. Very comfy and there were robes in the room. Great location!

The location is perfect. My experience at this hotel was far from perfect. The first night there the shower was drooling. The toilet was not working and the door knob to our balcony fell off in my hand as I tried to open the door. The fact that the rooms are small doesn't bother me because the view of the parking lot dumpster made up for it. The staff acts all friendly but they don't do anything. The kicker was that we wanted the sheets on the bed washed since we were staying a while. I noticed our bed sheet had a cigarette hole burned through. I took the sheets off the bed and placed them on the floor with the towels we wanted washed as you do at any hotel when you want linens washed. Well we left our room and came back an hour later the cleaning lady had been by and had put the same dirty Sheets back on the bed. Remember I had the sheets with the hole so I knew they were the same and she wouldn't have had time to wash and dry them that quickly. The shower pressure was never fixed I'm not just being a pressure snob here I grew up in an old house with bad pressure and this was coming out at a trickle. The toilet wasn't fixed. After asking the manager About getting fresh clean sheets I thought that would be fixed. Nope the same unwashed sheets kept getting taken off the floor and put right back on the bed every day. I would be surprised if they even get washed between different visitors. GROSS hotel stay away.

I mostly stay in Kihei with my parents, but my boyfriend and I went up to Lahaina for Valentine's Day and spent one night at the Lahaina Inn. I picked it because it was the cheapest place that was right off of Front, so I was a little nervous, but it was absolutely adorable! It looked cute, was conveniently located, and although it lacked some of the standard amenities (TV in room), it was perfect for a short little getaway like we'd planned. The only complaint we had was that the toilet had a minor leak problem (the kind where it's constantly cycling water, not the kind where there's actually water on the floor)-- we just Maguyver'd the toilet for the evening and let the hotel know in the morning, so it was really more a problem for them than for us.

I stayed here for the 4th annual Maui Ocean Front Marathon and this place was basically the cheapest in the area, without having to drive from Kaanapali or Kihei. I really didn't want to be driving over the pali (the mountain side roadway connecting West Maui / with the rest of the island) at odd hours in the morning, so I decided to stay here and see how things are. It is my first stay here and it is a cute boutique hotel, right off of Front Street. I got the room off of Orbitz @ $130, which was decent for Maui anyway. It was conveniently located, since the finish line was next to the Lahaina Shores hotel, so I just walked a few blocks past the Wharf Cinema Center, and the hotel was there. The room was really small, and since I was room sharing with someone, it was challenging. I eventually got the King bed, even though the reservation said 2 queen beds. I should have checked with the front desk if there was a room with 2 beds available, but we didn't. My friend eventually slept on the floor and he didn't really like it. For quaint acommodations, this place fit the bill. My room did not have a mini fridge nor a microwave, due to the sizing limitations of the unit. The bathroom and adjoining shower was there, so that was nice. Since this hotel is old, the room key was the usual old school style. I was more comfortable with the electronic key card. I guess some antique hotels still use a real key. I had unit #12, by the way. The tv was mounted on the wall, so that was pretty nice. We stayed for just one night, since we both were from Hawaii, and needed to get back home to work the next day. It's really nice to be able to get from island 2 island in less than 1 hour flight time. Parking you would need to ask at the hotel. $15 per 24 hours, compared to the $20 per 24 hours you see in adjoining lots. The dude managing the front desk was nice and he answered all my questions.

$100/nt for junior suite right in center of town. it was two double beds and one of them was a taco of a bed that you sunk into the middle. the shower head was real low-flow which one of us found annoying. other than that it was a very nice room, spacious, great location, classy furnishings, a little lanai, mostly quiet other than garbage trucks in the morning. you could hear people in the other rooms--kinda thin walls. overall great experience.

I like to keep my reviews short and to the point: Checked in - essentially ignored by the clerk. Not even greeted with a hello. Access - if you have mobility problems you shouldn't stay here. I didn't see an elevator. Someone has to climb some serious stairs. Amenities - no ice, no water, no vending machines, no laundry, not even anyone to clean? Wtf? Smell - smells old. Possibly moldy where I'm at. Doesn't smell... clean. Noise - thin walls, creaky floors, bus boy from the restaurant downstairs arguing with someone over the phone and subsequently throwing his phone against the wall. Underneath my balcony. View - charming view of... the parking lot. Pay more to see the street down below of panhandlers asking tourists for money! Food - overpriced tourist trap restaurant downstairs. No breakfast. Cleanliness - did someone even clean my room before I got here? There was hair on my sheets when I got here. Wifi - $10/day, eff you. Parking - $15/day to park down the street, no porter service either so you got luggage? Get your flex on, you're making some GAINS! Oh, there's stairs for you to carry them up too. GAINS!! This is more like a $40/night hostel. Stay away!

Only reason I'm giving two stars is location and the fact we got it at a discount on Groupon. The front desk person wasn't very inviting, we had to pay an additional $15.00 for parking, no elevator or bell hop so we had to lug all of our luggage up two flights of stairs, the room and bath room was tiny, and there were only two hangers on the wall and no closet. We've never stayed at a small inn before so maybe this is the norm...We'll stick too resorts and hotels we are familiar with from now on.

Stayed at the Lahaina Inn during my visit for the Maui Invitational. You can't beat the location, as its central with a number of different restaurants, local shopping and what seemed like an immense number of art galleries. I will say this, its' essentially what you could compare top a bed and breakfast (minus maybe the breakfast). They provided a list of places to eat in the area. Parking is about 40 yards away....nothing different from any other hotel where you have to park in their lot and walk to the lobby. If you use some common sense and drop your bags in the lobby...then park, you can avoid the hassle of trudging your stuff what some may consider an unbearable distance. If you're into amenities such as a, pool, concierge, spa, room service, or are just the type of person who goes on vacation never to leave the hotel... this may not be the place for you. In this instance a room was needed close to the Civic Center (about a mile) as copious amounts of beer would be consumed...and I didn't want to be far! I have read other reviews about the facility. It WAS built in 1938....so that should clue in most of the public that it is in fact....a "rustic" Inn. I also thought I'd come up the stairs on night, turn the corner and see the twin girls from "The Shining" at the other end of the hall. So it does have that kind of feel. The rooms are quite small, but this is Hawaii....so is everything else. Besides sleep a total of an hour was spent in the room....so it served its purpose! For the price its decent. If I end up visiting for more basketball next year I may try it again.

Lahaina Inn is real cute and has a great location. I liked the hardwood floors and "old Hawaiian feel" . As a solo traveler the rooms size was perfect. Downsides were wifi at $10.00 per day and no staff after 7 pm and before 10 am. I think there should be a mini fridge too for the $$. It was a cool experience but I would probably stay somewhere else next time.

Their front desk staff is rude and snobby for no reason. For locked in my room because of a faulty door lock. It wasn't upsetting that I got trapped in my room... It was upsetting that they refused to give me another room and didn't apologize. Try airbnb dot com or pioneer inn. Don't waste your money here. There is a reason they don't show pictures of the rooms.

Room #10. Two twin beds. Booked on expedia. Luckily we got the room we booked b/c there is only 1 room with two twin beds but expedia lets multiple people book it. Room was old but clean. Very small room, but who sits around the hotel in Maui anyway. Cheap rates but no amenities. I can handle no coffee, wifi, close parking but the lack of refrigerator is really annoying. Overall the price wasn't bad and served it's purpose. Probably won't stay there again when in Maui next. I want to be able to walk to beach and get out of downtown Lahaina.

Cancelled on booking.com and after a week called Lahaina Inn to see when I would see the refund. Staff was rude and said 2-30 days depending on my bank. When I inquired further to find out when they processed the refund he told me the day I cancelled and it was up to my bank to release the hold. After another week I called my bank and they told me that was all untrue. Lahaina Inn had not processed the refund and when they did I would see it on my account 2-3 day.

I just came back from my honeymoon at the Lahaina Inn, and was not happy with my experience there. I read the reviews on Yelp prior and expected a quaint and small room, however was still unprepared with how TINY the room is. I'm from San Francisco so I'm used to narrow hall ways, but literally you walk in and there was a bed, a tiny closet, and the tv mounted against the wall. It was difficult to walk around in the room with two people. When you're on vacation, you want to be able to relax in your hotel room and decompress, I did not have this sentiment when staying here. Felt similar to my experiences staying a hostel. As for the service, I was very dissappointed. I had high hopes for this place and was upset with the lack of professionalism and follow up. Because this was my honeymoon, I had asked the folks at Lahaina Inn to pick up roses, champagne, and a balloon to put in our room. I had worked on setting this up 2 weeks in advance, and as soon as I landed I recieved a call from the supermarket informing me that no one from the Inn had come. Once I called they were able to recover quickly and set this up. This is fine. However, when I found that the hair dryer was broken and told the front desk, they said they would look into this and never fixed this or followed up with me. On top of that, we were tracking in sand from the beach and they did not do a good job cleaning the floor because there was always a bit of sand on the ground. The part that was truly upsetting is that they did not even wash our sheets. I found sand in our sheets from the day before, and some stains that clearly indicated these were old sheets. Not to mention, the walls are thin because I heard guests in the other rooms as well. The staff is only present from 11am - 7pm, so it's difficult to have good customer service when people aren't physically present there most of the time. If you are looking to stay for a night and need a cheap place, by all means this is a good place to go. They are in a phenomenal location and it was easy to walk to anywhere we wanted to go to in downtown Lahaina. They are also associated with the Royal Lahaina so it's nice to have access to their pool and beach. However, if you are planning on staying there for a long time, I would not reccomend it.

  • Drew K.

The staff was very nice and the location was excellent (right in downtown Lahaina), but overall this was a very disappointing experience. We complained that our hair dryer wasn't working, but they did nothing about it and didn't say anything to us. We had also made a couple special requests that they agreed to in advance, but they didn't follow through. The worst part was that they never changed our sheets and didn't clean up the floor even though we had tracked in sand from the beach. The price was low, but I'd definitely recommend spending more money and getting a better hotel.

Things I liked: - Convenient location for Lahaina tourist attractions, beach, grocery store, starbucks, post office, etc. - AC - Clean rooms with room service - We got a good deal on the room because they were having some kind of special - Good water pressure - Helpful/friendly staff Things I didn't like: - Room was freezing! No matter what temperature we set the AC to, it always felt like 60 in the room. So it was either no AC, or too cold. - They key for our safety deposit box in our room didn't work - NOISE! Our room faced out into a parking lot, and every morning at 7am we were awoken to the sound of a truck backing up and emptying the dumpster. We were also awoken in the middle of the night to random parking lot noise. We didn't get a single good night's sleep - They charge $10/day to park in their parking lot. They sure didn't mention that when we made our reservation. - One day we found a note that said "We'll be fumigating your room tomorrow. Please pack up all of your belonging and take any food out of your room." Not cool.

Quaint, little hotel instead of your usual chain hotel. As mentioned before, the rooms are definitely tiny, but charming. It was nice that there was a kitchenette with fridge and some appliances so we didn't have to eat out all the time. We also liked the body boards and other beach items that you could borrow. One major drawback: If you are on the side of the hotel that is NOT facing the ocean, it was fairly loud all night with the A/C from a nearby restaurant and it gets really loud early in the morning.
