Wow, I don't know why such bad reviews. Oh well. We stayed for a week on Poipu beach so we enjoyed Lava's a few times. It was so great to come out of the pool and enjoy a snack to tide us over till dinner. Lava Flow was tasty and ours was pretty strong. Kalua pork nachos with pineapple salsa was ordered each time we visited. :) Hamburger - I'd pass on that one next time. All in all, we were pleased!

Well, the service is just horrible at this spot. Came in with a party of 4, 2 birthday people. Waited for the waiter for 5 minutes. Decided to go up to the bar and order drinks myself. Waiter (looks like Mark Zuckerberg) intercepted after I had ordered drinks and ended up insisting on bringing the drinks to us. He brought wrong drinks. Meanwhile, he said he'd bring some birthday treats to our table which never came after a 15 minute wait. End result, left $0 tip and this yelp review. My advice, go somewhere else.

We decided to give this place a try because kids eat free. But as soon as we were seated we were greeted by a weird waiter who made us feel uncomfortable. Look at the menu and saw eggs/bacon plate is $22 and half of a papaya is $11. Wow, I understand it's part of a nice hotel but that's a little ridiculous for a causal restaurant. Staff were very unprofessional and I'm so glad we decided to leave and walk over to red salt!!

The problem with Poipu is that you're pretty much a captive audience. Wanna sit by the beach? You're eating at one of the resorts. The positives: the view is great, and it's fun to sit quasi-outdoors. The cons: the food was very pedestrian, our food came out cold, and the service was atrocious. I mean, really, really bad. Our meal took forever, our waitress didn't seem to care, and we sat for 25 minutes before she brought our bill. So, if it's 2:30 PM and you don't want to get in your car, yeah, you can eat here. But if you have another option, go with that place.

Meh, nothing special. This is a good place to grab a drink or a quick bite during your beach day at the Sheraton. But, if you are staying elsewhere on Kauai, I definitely wouldn't make the effort to come here.

This review is both for the breakfast buffet and the poolside service. Servers are as uninterested as you can imagine. It feels like they don't want to get you anything and are offended you are asking. When you do ask them for something, all you'll get is a curt yes or no before they walk away. Breakfast buffet is very basic. They have a limited selection of the usual breakfast offerings plus congee for those who like Asian breakfast. The congee is weird and very salty. The kalua pork on my plate was very bland so I combined the two and it was slightly improved. Buffet price is $28 but if you are SPG, you get 20% off and your child eats free. Children eat free for breakfast and lunch at Lava's and for dinner at Rum Fire. Pool service is so slow and indifferent it's frustrating. Order before you get hungry and thirsty because it takes over half an hour for your drinks and water to arrive. Sadly, this pool does not have a jug of water and cups on the side for guests to help themselves so you are at the mercy of the pool attendants. I tried walking to Starbucks and the gift shop to buy drinks because I was so thirsty but they are closed between 3 and 4:30 in the afternoon. The food came after an hour had passed and they forgot part of our order so I gave them the pregnant woman hungry death stare and the man even commented on it! Haha.

Stopped in here during a rainy spell and threw my face in a fat burger. I think the BBQ sauce stained my lips orange. My husband was surprised I took it down. Needless to say, burger was delicious and hit the spot after the flight. He went healthy with a club sandwich. We love Westin hotels and their restaurants because they're so consistent in the quality of the food and simplicity of the menu.

A couple of things.... I really wanted to love this place. I really really did. Staying at the Sheraton for a week, we ate here a couple of times and had some drinks on other times. The food was fair. Had the nachos the first day... Nothing special. The pork on them was great but covered in some cheese-whiz like sauce. They're nachos. They aren't hard to make good. But melted cheese would have been infinitely better than a cheese sauce. Fish and chips were much better as was the Sunday sausage special. Drinks were good. Loved the mango margaritas. And the lychee cooler, yum. And the strawberry guava lemonade thing. And the melon margarita special on Thursday. You get the idea. The service though............... I used to wait tables so I tend to be both hypercritical of wait service but also very forgiving. Unfortunately, the service here is very hit or miss. Yes, I'm on vacation and yes I'm hanging out in the pool area. But I want a piña colada and I want it NOW. I don't want to wait over an hour for you to come back to see if we want another drink. I don't want to have to flail about on my chair to get you to notice that another beer is needed. I don't want to be ignored as you casually stroll about with your empty tray and make eye contact with NO ONE when I can see three other people hoping that you will look at them. And I especially don't want to have to swim across the pool to tell you we need another round or to cash out because you've been ignoring us. That being said, we had a couple great servers during meal times, just no luck with service in the pool area. Maybe I'm spoiled being from Las Vegas where you can't really sneeze at the pool without a cocktail waitress nearby but come on... Three or four waitresses to cover the restaurant and the pool is not enough staff. Especially not during happy hour (which, btw, is a super deal compared to their regular prices). But since Lava's has the monopoly on daytime food and drinks at the Sheraton, you take what you can get.

Great ocean side pavilion to see the beach and smell the salt air. Unfortunately, most of the tables are surrounded by too high a wall that hides the view. Sit at the bar or the high bar tables and enjoy the view. Food varies, typical quality for a popular hotel. Overpriced except for breakfast which was great.

Our first night my husband had local beer and he liked it. I had the daily drink special because the lady at the next table said it was good. Was good, but after a while it started tasting a little funny. Maybe you have to drink it within 10 minutes.. .? We shared the Seafood Combo that came with rice. The shrimp was way over done like it had been held at temp for quite a long time. I give that dish a zero but to be fair my husband liked it. Our server was friendly and helpful and will give her 5 stars. I started with 2 stars because of the first dish but I have changed my review since. A couple of days my husband and I just wanted to relax and do nothing. We lounged around the pool, went snorkeling and ate things you shouldn't. Hey, but we are on vacation The ladies that came around for orders were exceptionally friendly. The bucket of fries are great. We also enjoyed the nachos. Great unhealthy snack when lounging around the pool with beer or a drink.

Stayed here for a few nights. We are SPG Platinum which makes it tolerable. On the way in from the airport we bought a bunch of poke from Koloa Fish Market that we ate at the bar with a few beers from their limited and outdated selection. Breakfast was surprisingly good, eggs benney's runny with tasty hollandaise, waffles, and seemed like scratch yogurts. OJ was out of a carton, boo...Service was a barely attentive, but didn't clear plates for some reason which I thought was uncool. For $9/ea with SPGP, it was worth it though. Poolside Mai Tai's are basic and not creative with fresh ingredients. Jenny the concierge is awesome and sent us to great restaurants.

The food was good, service was prompt and friendly for the most part. A few of the servers did stand out and made sure to always say hello. It was a little bit pricey but to be expected considering the location.

  • Brett T.

Terrible. The service is slow and unfriendly and food is worse. We waited 1:45 minutes for cold food. The place was busy, but the management needs to get it together. My advice, bring a snack out to the beach enjoy the beach at the Sheraton and eat elsewhere.

Contrary to Kauai revealed recommendation, not impressed. Service not good, took forever to be waited on until finally a bar back/ food runner helped us. Happy hour food and drink specials were only saving grace. Bloody Mary spicy and semi strong. Mai tai weak and uninspiring. Heard others asking for extra shot. Views good.

Got just dessert here, the Sundae for 2 is really a Sundae for 2. It is huge! Totally worth the money, and the view, looking out to Poipu Beach. It'd be nice if they did the Sundae at sunset.

We ate here on our first day before we got our bearings. Definitely would not return. It has a great location. Beachfront at the Sheraton. It is an open air covered patio so it is a nice place to sit and watch the waves come in. Service is indifferent at best. Food is forgettable. I hada bento box with Teri chicken and beef. Both were dry and barely had any Teri sauce. My wife had a Malia pork sandwich, hands down the worst pork we had all week.

We came to this beautiful island from Alaska and we were amazed how terrible hospitality of this restaurant is! We stopped for a lunch and it was self sited place so we sat and waited for 15 min! All personal was laughing and never came close to our table so we left! We came back next morning for breakfast and waited another 15 minutes!! Staff is very slow, no smiles, atmosphere is boring, food quality is fantastic!! Than we were on the beach and beautiful blond waitress Chrystal came to us offered water and was super nice and sweet! She provide a perfect hospitality and she has a wonderful personality! We went for couple drinks and snacks couple hours later and guess what?! Everyone was ignoring us till we sat at the bar and bartender helped us!! Manager need to train his crew or pick great people!! Other wise they are going to loose business of such a beautiful resort as Sheraton!

Five stars for having an incredible view of the ocean. Three stars for having average drinks and average servers. We came on a day where they just introduced a new drink menu so they were not very familiar with the drink recipes. I did like the concept of their new drink menu, which had specialty cocktails and skinny cocktails and ultra skinny cocktails.

Hesitating to even write this review because the Sheraton is next to my favorite place in the world to be and to spend my vacation with loved ones and friends. We used to love to be at the beach and walk over and have a cocktail or two or three and lunch. It was fun, open, and inviting. Back to Kauai after 4 years and it has all changed. Dear Sheraton management or whom it concerns. Lava's has the worst service!!! I see your trying to come up and the place looks great but you need to also raise the level of service here. The bartenders and servers are slow, lazy, and most of all UNFRIENDLY!!! Not equal to the beautiful setting etc. which is why you are all so not interested. Thinking this is enough. IT IS NOT!!! Get it together. Signed Your old used to be loyal family.

Lava's is the Sheraton's pool side bar & restaurant and the only resort restaurant open for lunch (RumFire is Breakfast & Dinner). Happy Hour is from 3-5pm. Food was fine. Prices seemed high at first, but most restaurants we went to on Kauai were pricier than what we are used to in the SF Bay Area. Service varies dramatically depending on your server. One server we had earlier in the week kept saying "Good afternoon, Mr Chang!" every time he saw me . . . I haven't yet decided if that was nice or creepy :)

  • Melissa B.

Drinks are okay but very pricey. That's the lone positive. Service is lacking. The food, though - avoid pretty much everything on the menu, as it's bland, lacking freshness or originality, and feels a lot like a TGIFriday's transported from mainland on the island. The exception is buffet breakfast, which is perfectly safe - but it's overpriced and absolutely average save the fresh fruit. Head elsewhere or go buy your own and eat at the pool or on the beach.

The service is really iffy. I ate lunch here about 4 times, since it's part of the Sheraton where we were staying. Food is overpriced, but it's actually pretty good. I really enjoyed the pollowich or lavawich. I'm not sure what it's called but every time I ordered it the chicken was super tender and juicy. The roll it came on is also pretty good. The poke was also pretty good, as well as the ahi sandwich. We had one server, I'd love to say here name, but it might be too rude. She was absolutely TERRIBLE! Oh my god, it was painful having her as our server all day. She seemed like she was on crack, and she was also VERY rude, and SLOW! I'm talking 1 hour to get your beer, people! Then when we asked where it was she answers in a snotty voice, "We're really busy! It's coming right out!". Just admit it, you forgot it... All the other days, our servers were fine, and the last day our server was GREAT. So, it seems service is really up in the air. Drinks were tasty, especially the lava flows, but of course, very weak on the alcohol. I really wish they would add some fish tacos to the menu though. I think it would be a great addition.

Overpriced sub par hotel food. We were staying at the Sheraton and opted for lunch by the pool, knowing full well that it would be pricey. The Korean beef nachos were ok (about a milligram of beef!) at $13, the ahi salad was decent (was waaaay overlooked to toughness, not the rare, seared at it was supposed to be), and the crudités with aioli was yummy ($7). The sesame seared ahi salad on local greens at Fish Express in Lihue was superb at almost half the price.

Over prices and poor service. Go to the nearby village for food if u can! Otherwise you're stuck!

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. The rest of the Sheraton Kauai is amazing, except this restaurant. They give you free MaiTai coupons when you check-in...don't use them...go into town, go to the other restaurants around...find the nearby Starbucks. Cheese was processed (like form a can processed) on the Nachos we got. Every short cut that can be taken, as it's the only game in town come lunch is used. The Buffet might be redeeming but again, when you can explore other options (the GrandHyatt lunchtime fair was about the same price, night and day as far as quality goes). I stress, the rest of the property is amazing, fantastic location, right by the good surf spots on the SouthShore (Poipu) The total bill was over 60 bucks for two marginal entrees (2 fish shrimp tacos and a burger), fries were marginal, and the nachos as stated, not even worth it... If we'd dined there more than when we got there, it would have effected my view of the Resort, as it was, it's just a bad part of what is otherwise a lovely Resort and a great SPG destination...!!!

Lava's was located in our hotel, the Sheraton, so we ate there every day for breakfast which was a simple buffet. (You could order off the menu too but we had the buffet included in our room package.) The buffet was pretty good, standard stuff. Their pastries were the best part. Everything else was pretty basic - fruit, eggs, potatoes, etc. Staff was usually pretty attentive. On our first day there, we also ate lunch at the restaurant while we waited for our room to be ready. I had the kalua pork nachos and my mom had the bento box. My mom really like the bento box, good chicken and beef. The kalua pork nachos were okay. They used cheese sauce instead of real cheese so it made everything a bit soggy. The meat and other toppings were good though. The restaurant is right next to the pool and beach so it has a nice view and ocean breeze.

We had turkey lavawich, poipu fish lavawich, shrimp tacos and parmesan garlic fries with two mai tais (complimentary from front desk). The service was as good as expected, considering we are lounging on the sand. The parmesan garlic fries were delish! Absolutely yummo, as were the other items. It was a hotel day - after spending quite a bit of energy doing strenuous excursions, we decided to stay in and enjoy the hotel beach. The service and the food from Lava definitely enhanced our day.

Can't recommend this place to anyone, sorry. While it may have an Ocean View, the service was non existent and it wasn't very busy, so there should be no reason why we had to wait over 45 minutes for our meals to arrive -lukewarm. Pricey menu, with underwhelming food....very disappointing.

Typical hotel restaurant. Overpriced simple food Saving grace: The Lava sundae for two! We attempted to enjoy this not knowing the endeavor we were embarking on!!!! HOLY HUGE! Massive. After an attempt we failed and making a dent in the food. The servers seem dis-connected and not interested in their jobs...all but one who I am sorry I can't remember her name. Bonus: from 3p-5p there are 1&2 dollar beers.

Lava's on the Beach is part of the Sheraton Kauai resort property and a compliment to a day at the beach. Poipu Beach is best viewed here @ Lava's when you are just wanting to relax on the beach and not have a care in the world. My friend and I were here to take in the beauty of Poipu Beach since our room wasn't ready, due to housekeeping doing their thing @ 1pm. It was finally ready at 3:30pm, a 2 hour wait. Lava's on the Beach was lively and festive as it went, with poolside dwellers and beach goers who wanted to chillax on a Saturday afternoon. This was the life, I tell you. Not a care in the world here. The wait staff was constantly working to service the guests who parked themselves either poolside, beachside, or in the vicinity of the bar itself. We were focused on the USC vs Hawaii football game, which was happening to be televised on one of their 25 inch flat screens. Some of the wait staff were watching the game in between serving their customers, as I suspect they had a vested interested as much as my friend and I had also. The service was very good, but the food was pretty pricey. Maybe I should not have grabbed anything, but I probably just was in vacation mode and ordered drinks and some pupu's that totaled up to $50 without gratuity on my tab. While it does get pricey here, it is hotel fare and it's Kauai, obviously. Bummer. For what it's worth, I guess it's a pretty good experience to be there and see the ocean and relax. Seeing Poipu Beach in its majesty was probably worth the purchase, although I had hoped to had spend it towards dinner and just chillax and watch the football game without spending any money, if at all possible. The wait staff was very pleasant and helpful, so that was good. We tried out the hummus with pita bread, a few bottles of beer, and some mai tai's too. The hummus was pretty good, although it could've been better. The mai tai's were pretty good, but not as strong as we would have liked. As such, we ordered more, but it was on my friend's tab this time. We ended up half drunk, but that was cool and a fun experience. We eventually slept it off in the room till dinner and headed to Koloa town to join friends for the quintessential carb loading party @ Pizzetta before the Kauai Marathon. Lava's on the Beach is awesome. Just a bit on the pricey side. Support local! B+

The food here is average to above standard (great fish and chips and just fine ahi tuna) but they really need to kick it up a notch service-wise. 1. It took over 10 minutes after we sat ourselves to receive a menu. 2. We never received water throughout our entire meal. 3. Multiple tables around us were left dirty and uncleaned far after the patrons had left. One table in particular was a mess before we sat down and was still there when we left an hour later. Lastly, we noticed there seemed to be only one server taking care of the whole restaurant and that's when I realized why item 1, 2, and 3 happened. Sheraton, please hire more servers so they are not over worked and can provide better service!

The wings were fantastic, love the flavoring. Not your normal buffalo hot flavor. The kalua nachos was a bit disappointing. The cheese was just canned nacho cheese which clumps when it's cold. I had the Friday special which was a kalua pig and sliced ham on a ciabatta bun and fries. The ciabatta was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Best ciabatta I've encountered in a long time. It was an interesting combo of ham and kalua pig but it worked. Very tasty and satisfying. Should I return, definitely ordering the wings but not the nachos.

I remember coming here my first time and having my jaw drop when I opened the menu. I was in the mood for a burger and the price for one here is $16! I've noticed that a general trend on the island is to really hammer the tourists here while they dine. The hotels have the room & board covered but the eateries around here really charge up the wazoo for meals. But this is not a rant and I will change my tone to say what an EXCELLENT burger this place makes. When a dish can make you forget the price you paid, you know it's just really out of this world. Not only was this the best angus burger I've had on the island so far, but this was the rarest burger I've had even back on the mainland. Back in California, everyones so afraid of serving undercooked/very rare meat. But Lava's did not disappoint. Will be back for sure!

We went for a late breakfast. Great view. Food was fine, but nothing worth posting pics of! I had the Belgian waffle, my son had the buffet and husband had the Loco Moco. Service was fine, although many other reviews note it was poor.

  • Virginia M.

The food is high priced but good. The biggest downside is the service- only one server wrote down our order and she was the only one to get it right. Also, the place overlooks the beach and pool but has a sad music selection instead of an upbeat collection.

$3 beers during happy hour 3-5. Awesome kalbi ribs nachos, good hummus. A little pricey, but it is a restaurant at a hotel in Hawaii so if you think its too expensive that probably your fault. I would knock them for poor planning on taking advantage of the fact they are on an amazing beach. Many of the seats have an obstructed view or none at all.

Was surprised how disappointed we were at the experience here. Went for lunch yesterday with my husband and daughter, and only a few tables already seated. Wait staff were curteous - no complaints there. However it took a very long time to get our food. I expect things to be a bit on the pricey side at a hotel, and I've stayed at Starwood properties - luxury and otherwise - all around the globe, but this was Four Seasons/Fairmont pricey for lunch, but without the quantity or even meeting mediocre standards. My young daughter got the kids caesar salad, which for $10.95 was definitely not worth it. It was some salad, chicken and parmasean on a paper plate, with a container of caseser dressing on the side. There were 2 croutons/crudites - both of which were burned so my daughter didn't want to eat it. I got the Bento Box, in which at least the sticky rice was ok, but the KalBi was just a peace of overcooked red meat, dried, burned and lukewarm with some teriyaki sauce on it. Chicken was a little better, but very processed and also just barely lukewarm. Portions were very small - which is ok - but at $17 at least let it be warm! Husband got the Ahi burger, which was ok, and I think was $22. Drinks were ok. Pricey, but expectedly so, and fine. Was disappointed as this was well below mediocre. Best part of the meal is the view/location - so I recommend just going for drinks here....

To be fair: I only had a Mai Tai. Except for the fact that it's on a lovely beach, this is your basic Sheraton Hotel Bar. The people who work there clearly aren't happy to be there (can't blame them, management seems pretty uptight and everyone else is on vacation). Like all things in Hawaii, you're going to pay a lot, and whatever you order most likely won't be quite what you'd hoped. The whole place has that corporate stink to it.

We came here for breakfast. It was a bit pricey, but food was decent and service was great (maybe surprising after reading some of the other reviews). The place is open air and has a great view of the ocean.

THE GOOD: - tuna poke - korean beef nachos - good blended drinks - friendly service THE BAD: - the restroom by the bar and pool requires a key card to get in. if you are not a guest there then you are screwed. This is a pretty nice hotel bar and restaurant so expect the price.

Nice spot on ocean. Food is very limited but well prepared. About what you'd expect from a poolside grill. Drinks are good but on the high priced side.

Newly opened restaurant at the Sheraton Kauai, right next to the main pool. We only had drinks, no dinner, but the menu looked good and the food the folks next to us were eating looked good as well. Prices are Hawaii-resort typical, but the drinks were good, the service was good, and the view is great.

First night after a long flight from Los Angeles. The BBQ bento is very nice. My wife had the Mixed fish Bento (Mahi and Ahi pretty tasty). The service was a ok our server is a little green. Very slow paced pretty much have to asked for everything. The Beer is not that cold. Toward the end she is kinda make it up for the poor service, by apologizing for everything. The Host is super retarded and old Filipino guys yawning and chewing gums while talking to us. The First thing he did when we walked in was looking at his clock at 9pm HOW RUDE. They definitely should let this guys go. What a shame having this retard as a host on such a nice place. Today lunch by the pool the service is much better season server with really attentive service and superior knowledge about everything. Overall the food is good the service is a hit and miss. Reasonable price good food definitely will try it again. BTW wait until 3pm for happy hrs 1 dollar Domestic Beer WOWWWW

My husband and I ate here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was mostly empty and still no one told us what to do. We sat ourselves and didn't receive a menu for a while. Our server was really nice and the Mai Tai was great. I ordered the nachos, which I loved! It was the perfect portion, not the ridiculously huge plate I get in California. The pork, cheese, guacamole was awesome and I ate the entire thing. My husband got the fish tacos and said they were really good. Everything was so expensive! I subtracted the fifth star because of the lack of service and for the price. Other than that, the food and service once we got a server was great.

There are several good points about this restaurant. The menu is extensive for drinks as well as food. The drink of the day is usually a good one and usually pretty reasonably priced. The korean blt and the lavawich are really good. The not so hot parts are the fact that while the service is friendly, it is SO SLOW. Because this is largely a casual place- sandwiches, sports on TVs and servers in ballcaps, I was expecting quick and easy. Not so much. Best advice: do not go hungry. Know what you want and order drinks and food all at once. Best to sit at the bar. You get served more quickly!

So I had seen a couple of people get their nachos by the pool area. I was waiting for a waitress to come around so I could order some, and no waitress for quite sometime. I then go to the front area of lavas where they seat guests to ask for nachos to go. I was able to catch the waitress and told her I wanted the nachos. Then I remember how many dishes in Hawaii have pork on it (which I don't eat), so I asked her if there was any pork in the dish. She looks like me like I'm an idiot and says "Well yeah, it's the Kalua pork nachos" ...that may have been my bad because I didn't see the menu...but then again she didn't give me one. So then I say "oh ok...hmm...I don't eat pork" she then tells me she can put it on the side for me as if that solves the problem. Then as I'm standing there debating what to do, whether to get the nachos without the meat or order something else she seems impatient and starts to walk away. I then ask for a menu and she points to behind the hostess desk and says the menus are over there. She walks away and I get a menu and stand there for quite sometime and she doesn't show up. I give up and leave. Terrible service and really spoiled my stay at this hotel.

Walked to Lava's from our hotel and thought we would try a new place to eat lunch and have a cocktail. Service was very slow, not rude, just slow. We ordered the stir fry edamame and what a disappointment. WAY WAY WAY OVER COOKED. I have never had a cook screw up edamame. I use the word cook lightly. We also ordered the seared ahi and teriyaki which we split...thank god we only ordered one dish. The fish was barely seared on each side, ice cold and we could not cut the fish with the butter knife we were given. On the other hand the chicken was way overcooked and the teriyaki sauce would make any hawaiian embarrassed. We did have two bloody marys and they were much better than the food. I would never return or refer anyone to this place.

Gets an extra star for a sleeping Hawaiian monk seal sleeping on the beach. Crazy awesome beach dining. Food was ok. Service was about the same. Although she was friendly, she forgot some of our order; which was ok because she didn't charge us either. Drinks took a long time as well.

Great nachos!! The live entertainment was great and the waitress was friendly and fast. Avoid the cranberry drinks..I couldn't finish it it was so bad. I think the cranberry juice is on "the gun" and not real juice. The night we went to have a drink and "pupu's" there were some very loud / rude tourist that took over the restaurant which didn't add anything to the atmosphere.

Went yesterday with two of my friends we had mojitos and the beef nachos. The drinks lacked flavor and crispness I think the soda they put in was flat. And the nachos were burnt more of a mess on burnt chips if you ask me. Not what I had hoped for at all out of a nice location at the beach... I will not go back

We landed and headed straight to the hotel. We were starving and decided to eat there even though i generally dont like hotel food. First, service was REALLY bad. Our waitress left on a break or something and the waitresses that were there ignored us for like 15 min. I think it was because they assumed that our waitress had gotten to us. Finally ordered food and it wasn't that good. Chicken wings were overcooked and dry, sauce was a tasteless and their fish needed salt. Their drinks are stiff though- I'll give em that. I'd def go somewhere else for food. And their bar snack is Gardetto's. I mean i don't mind gardetto's but i'm sure there's a more hawaiian bar snack that is a little bit nicer. just sayin.

Happy Hour? What a flipping joke. This place put me in SUCH a bad mood. I saw signs for their "happy hour" all over the place, and since it was right next to our hotel. we went. While the bar itself is fine, they really don't get any points for that because how hard is it to have a nice looking poolside bar? The part that pissed me off was the the happy hour was a total lie. You got your choice of three drinks that were still pretty pricy, and the only food option was nachos. But get this. The Nachos, I was told by the waitress, didn't have the steak they normally do, and even though they were half off, they were also have the size of the normal nachos. So really, you are paying MORE for the nachos. And, they sucked. Hard. I know this is touristy Hawaii, but this was such an opportunity to blow us away and they failed. Had they suceeded, we would have been here every night blowing tons of money. Too bad...

We've had such a great experience here. First of all, best happy hour we've found in poipu. The korean BBQ nachos were fairly incredible and we washed those down with dollar drafts. We came here for dinner one night and both of our meals were fantastic - I had the opah dinner and my fiancé had a rib eye special. Everything was cooked just right and we thought the price was justified ($26-31 per meal). Service was friendly and quick.

First meal we had here I had the fish special. It was amazing best meal of our trip. Breakfast was good too, however lunch time fish tacos were so bad I almost had to send them back... But I hate doing that so I ate one and left the rest what a waste. :-/

Came here for buffet breakfast. It was $17.50 per person. Menu includes omelette (no omelette station), bacon, sausage, round cut potatoes, congee (with scallions, fish cake and soy sauce on the side to be sprinkled on), warm oatmeal, fresh cut fruits(papaya, melons, apple, orange), pastry section (danish, croissants, muffins, petite bagels, toast). No pancakes, no waffles. Such a bummer. Beautiful view of the ocean from any seats. Juices are all from concentrate and brought upon request with refills.

I don't understand what all the bad reviews are about. The drinks are strong and the French fries crispy. Bartenders all nice, funny and always voluntarily refilled my little cup of spicy chex mix (darn them though, that chex mix goes straight to the thighs amirite?!?!). Happy hour Mai Tais are on POINT. What else could one wish for at a bar where you can hear the waves crash behind you, and four seconds later dive into those waves?? I was a happy camper!

By far the worst drinks ever! We had a Piña Colada (I know, hard to mess up right? But they managed) and a Blue Hawaiian. The Piña Colada was too sweet and the Blue Hawaiian wasn't sweet enough. I have yet to come across a Sheraton that has a tasty menu.

Being part of such a large resort, you would assume the food would be half way decent. Unfortunately, we received just the opposite. Fish and chips (such an easy dish) with raw batter on the inside and uncooked fish. Service was slow and definitely not worth the money spent. Save your time and money and hit up a local spot.

Pretty great Food and kids 12 and under are free for breakfast and lunch. We order two Mei Tai's, they looked great but a little too strong for us. The beef short ribs are by far the best I've had.

We enjoyed our last meal on the island especially with kids eating free. Only problem was the over-cooked meats. Had to send the t-bone back.

Sheraton needs to do a better job here. First, my glass was completely cracked and the coffee cup is dirty when I sat down at the table. Service: the guy has no customer service skills. He was like mumbling when asking about if we want buffet or orders from the menu. He has not come around to see if my coffee needs to be refilled until I asked. I guess I am better off to get one from Starbucks at this point. As I was carrying my plate in the buffet area, there was water dropped from the a/c cents to my plate because of the condensation. The food was ok and better than some other breakfast buffet I had at other hotel resorts.

Great location and good service. Drinks were a bit expensive, but, welcome to Hawaii. The view was beautiful....huge memories of being here 33 years ago during Hurricane Iwa.

Good service, good food been here twice for breakfast and multiple times for lunch. This is my first time doing dinner. Not one bad experience. On top of that you get the amazing View. For those who have not been to a luau you can come to dinner and watch the show free with your dinner. five stars all the way.
