Nothing special. Got blown off by the bartender and had to wait 15 minutes to get drinks from a waitress. Drinks were nothing special either. Overpriced and under-liquored. Had to wait another 15 minutes after finishing our drinks to get our tab. Don't waste your time.

Advertised as the best pizza on Maui so we had to stop by. Atmosphere: located in a complex of restaurants and bars in huts. It feels like you've stepped into a beachside bar. Service: Good service, but I wish the waitress had told us about how small the menehune size pizza was compared to their regular. Double the price but quadruple the size. Food: they had a collection of local brews and we had to order their pizza. The kalua bbq pineapple was okay, but my portuguese sausage with basil and mozzerella was delicious. Intangibles: get the full size pizza, do not get the menehune size. But very good pizza!

We stopped in here because we were wanting some Hawaiian Pizza and a few drinks. The Tiki Lounge came through on both. Good selection of beer and drinks. Da Hawaiian was incredible...Highly recommend! Nice stop for low key meal and if you are lucky you'll get the live music too. Glad we stopped here.

For years, we have been going to the South Shore Tiki Lounge because it had the best Mai Tai's in the area. The missus and I went last Thursday afternoon for happy hour and ordered two Mai Tai's. They were mediocre at best, and we left only finishing half each. They were watery, lacked flavor and not worth the effort. The fruit in the garnish was pretty tired and should have been tossed. It is said to see a bar go downhill, but that's why we keep trying new ones.

I feel like it's a necessity to go to at least one tiki bar when you're in Hawaii. Luckily this one was just a short drive from our hotel. I had an awesome lava flow served in a fun tiki glass. Only $10, which is pretty cheap for the area. It was nice to just sit outside and enjoy my drink.

This is the spot to get a nice drink. We came here to get just drinks on a Friday night. It was maybe 15 minutes from our resort. We were jet lagged and just got drinks for the nightcap; so it was way before all the locals arrived. I would recommend grabbing an Uber to get here. After 10 the DJ shows up on Friday night and they turn the outdoor eating area into the dance floor. It's a nice bar. The Pina colada's are very delicious and come in this rather large wide clear tiki glass, They're creamy, frothy, and have great mouthfeel to it.

We stopped by here on our moped journey and Cara was our bartender/server. We ordered some beers and a mango strawberry daiquiri. Super good! This place has great tiki Hawaiian vibes with an indoor area leading out to an outdoor area with plenty of seating. The place turns into a club after 10 on almost most nights, from what I hear it's a great time (will have to stop by some time) From other reviews, they stated the pizza was the best pizza on Maui.. so we had to have a taste. I'm a simple gal, so me and the BF shared a personal pepperoni and mushroom. Pizza came out in about 10 minutes and man, was it fresh! Extra hot, extra crunchy, super cheesy! I usually don't eat pizza crust, but even this crust I ate. Overall a great place for pizza and drinks! That's all you really need on vacay right?!

I just left Tiki Lounge and I had the worse dining experience in years! I ordered nachos, they came on a paper plate for $10. Didn't have hardly anything on it. The guy playing music was terrible. Very crude and obnoxious ! The margaritas for happy hour ($4.) were good. The server was very nice and friendly. In Maui another week but will not go back. Go to Cafe O'Lei or Fred's Mexican cafe instead. Good food and service.

Se went for cocktails one night and I came back for pizza the next day. First, I loved the atmosphere. While the place is not on the beach and you cannot see the ocean (bummer), the vibe is very beachy. Mind you, it feels a bit touristy, but not in an unpleasant way. And after all I was a tourist, so might as well enjoy it! Drinks were good, although I had to stick to virgins so not sure how stiff they are. Next day I came in for pizza. I got the Hawaiian for me and a margherita to go for husband, both individual size. Pizza is good. Crust is thick, soft and well cooked and toppings are fresh and well balanced. Size is deceptively small. When I first got it I thought I was going to be starving even after finishing it. As it turns out it was more than enough food. And my husband agreed even after his two hours of surfing. I'd go back for cocktails and for pizza.

Oh, Tiki Lounge, the setting for any crazy times we had in Maui. Tiki Lounge is probably the closest thing Maui has that resembles a club. It was also our favorite location in "The Triangle." The staff are really helpful, and you usually don't have to flag down someone to order drinks. We didn't order any food, but the drinks were strong and came out quickly. After a certain time, a DJ sets up on the outdoor patio. The dance floor was small and casual. Although the bouncers were a bit rude, I understand since they had to deal with a large number of inebriated individuals.

AMAZING PIZZA. Just the perfect amount of toppings with cheese under and over to hold everything together. The crust is like eating a delicious bread stick. I'm incredibly sad this pizza isn't available back home!

We were looking for some tropical drinks and decided to come here after reading the reviews. Basically, everything was just "okay." We tried four drinks, a salad, and a pizza, and coming from California I guess my expectations were a little high for food. Totally turned off by the paper plates and plastic utensils, and the "large" salad was the size of a paper plate. Outdoor seating is nice, and it's located in a mini-mall with lots of other restaurant choices. I probably wouldn't come here again.

If I had to get one thing from here it would definitely be the pizza. Any of them. We tried a bunch of different kinds but our group agreed that our favorite was the Kalua Pig - it's topped with kalua pork (of course), pineapple and bbq sauce. So good! Their cocktails are also very good, not too strong, not too weak. They also serve Maui Brewery beer here which is a cool shout out to the local companies here on Maui. They also have a dance floor in the back, but I don't exactly remember the times they have it. The decor is pretty much what you would expect from the name, but the service here is really good. Waitresses are attentive and almost always available should you need anything. Highly recommend coming here if you're ever down in Kihei.

Over priced and small portions - I am really not sure why this place gets such good Yelp reviews. My salad was supposed to have cilantro and basil which is the reason I ordered this salad but I barely tasted any of them. They also got both of our orders wrong. We were really sad to have wasted one of our precious Maui dinners on this place. One positive note is that our server was very helpful and apologetic when she realized the mistakes made by the kitchen.

My family and I ate here recently and the food was good! I had the vegan burger (which they told me actually isn't vegan when I ordered it... It has egg whites which was fine by me) and I also had a side salad. My husband had the vegan chili dog with non-vegan chili (he's a strange one, that guy). He also ordered a large salad with fish. I cant remember what the rest of my family ordered but we all enjoyed the food and "picnic" feel of the restaurant. You are seated at picnic benches and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery.. Condiments are self-served from a table in the middle of the seating area. Overall, a chill and fun place to eat. Very casual.

For a Maui girl, you can't go wrong with a bar that boasts thatched walls, aloha designs, local beers on draft, cheap salads, an outdoor seating area, music, dancing, and mayhem. Oh, and did I mention that they play surfing videos most days of the week? A Kihei Must See.

Came here just for a couple drinks before a boat tour. Cute atmosphere, definitely worth a stop while on maui. My favorite part was i got to drink my drink out of a tiki glass!

We went for happy hour. Sat outside and communed with a couple of tiny geckos that when I first saw them, I was sure they were toys. They were licking a maraschino cherry. Calamari and sliders were very good. Live musician was terrific!

I consider myself somewhat of a pizza expert - self proclaimed, of course. Why? I love pizza and I don't consider Pizza Hut, pizza at all. Ok kids, the pizza here is delicious!!!! The crust is perfectly done with a crispy outer edge and yummy soft innards. I always judge pizza by how a simple cheese pizza is done...they just do it well here. Drinks are great, staff is nice and can't beat the location. One star taken off for how long pizza takes to come out. Totally worth the wait though.

Took a walk from our resort in Kihei in search of some kind of tiki related bar hangout spot and we came across this place. It's pretty cute. Unfortunately, we missed the lowkey singer and came up when the dj was setting up. As soon as the strobe lights were up, we looked at each other and both collectively agreed that we'd down that bbq kalua pork pineapple pizza we ordered and bounce. We were in no mood for clubby atmosphere. The pizza itself was delicious. I got myself a Lava Flow while the guy (still suffering from a mild case of the flu) just had some water. I think the Lava Flow has banana in it... (I'm not a fan of banana), but it was light and you can hardly taste it, but it's there. Overall, it's a cute place. Just wish we were there during an earlier part of the day.

There are so many better options in Kihei for food and drinks that you would be better off finding another establishment. The Bloody Mary was so bad that I sent it back. I'm not sure what it was, but I know that it wasn't a Bloody Mary. My wife had a rum and coke and even that had a funky taste. Food was good, but you can get much better just a few yards away at Threes.

This review is for happy hour only. We had HH on the outdoor patio; a few drinks and calamari appetizer. There was live music playing (Natalie Nicole, I believe) and an adorable little lizard sat on our table with us the whole time, no joke! Everything was perfect, the drinks were yummy and reasonable, the calamari was great, service was awesome, the music was perfect, and the lizard was the icing on the cake. I want to move to Maui so I can have happy hour here every night! (well that isn't the only reason I want to live here....)

Hovering between two and three stars is South Shore Tiki Lounge. I feel bad giving it a low rating, but I just really wasn't super impressed. We shared an order of calamari and each had the fish tacos. I had mine with fries, he had the salad. The food was tasty, but I was thrown off by how casual this place was. The food was served on paper plates, we had to scrounge for extra napkins when our tacos got a little messy, and there was a cart with condiments parked in the center of the dining area where we could help ourselves. Not a fan of buffet-style condiments, I will say that. Then my boyfriend had a mouthful of salad and pulled out a staple. Let me just repeat that: he ate a bite of salad that had a staple in it! Look, things happen, I'm sure it was from the bag of lettuce or something of the sort, but that's pretty high on the dangerous list, right there. They were super embarrassed and apologetic, and the waitress even took his meal off of the bill. I'm glad she did--in my eyes it was necessary, even though he didn't feel that way. But in the end, I still have to dock them for the fact it even happened. Obviously, not every meal here comes complete with a staple, so take this review with a grain of salt. The food was decent and a little less expensive that some other places in Maui, so I gave them three stars for that.

  • Mark K.

Ambience was nice and servers were friendly, but it went downhill from there. Several drink orders were forgotten, the food took the better part of 40 minutes to arrive--on a quiet night--a large pizza order was completely confused, and the rest of the food was mediocre when it came. Not somewhere we're likely to return to.

I was looking for a tacky tiki bar and I found it. The back patio was cute and our server was great but the drinks were lacking. My piña colada tasted like a vanilla milkshake. We contemplated eating but weren't feeling pizza and everything else that came out of the kitchen looked questionable. A bit of a bummer that I've had much better tiki drinks in decidedly less tiki places than Hawaii.

I went out of my way to find it and I'm glad I did. After reading about how good the pizza was, I had to take the journey. I tried Da Hawaiian and it was awesome. I was alone and driving, or I would have tried one of the awesome drinks they had - the souvenir mug was very enticing, but I figured I better play it safe. Renee was a great server - she made me feel like an old friend popping by for lunch. She was quick on the refills and and was very helpful when I asked her for places to go and tourist suggestions. While you are there, ask to see the geckos. Fun place with great food that left me smiling!

The excellent customer service here earns Tiki Lounge a really solid rating. Great uncommon shots, slick/friendly bartenders, and live music. Oh and free wifi. The burger buns came out toasted to tortilla chip hardness, but the beef was great. Not sure the extra $1 for the cheese was worth the tiny slice of cheese, but hey, the burger should be about the meat anyway. The locals tend to hang out here, so it ought to be good enough for the tourists!

We came here for lunch and shared a pizza. It was pretty solid but nothing to write home about. I see the good reviews about their drinks but i'm not a drinker so this was solely a food experience. I also found sitting in the heat eating a hot pizza to not be my first choice, but that was my mistake.

This bar if such a cool spot in Maui if you're looking to try some food off of the resort where you are staying. I'd give this place a 3.5 for food and a 2 for service if I could. The food was actually pretty good. Our table ordered pizzas, fish tacos, and sliders. My fish tacos were cooked really well, but they loaded them up with too much salsa. My major problem with this place was the service. The bartender acted like we annoyed him when we tried to make conversation, asking him questions like where he was from, etc. Then, our waitress had a real attitude problem. My friends ordered two normal pizzas. She brought out one normal sized pie and then a small pie. When my friend asked her about the size of the pie, her response was, oh, well I didn't expect both of you to eat that much. At the end if the day, she was just rude with no interest in being mind to us. I would not go back to this place based specifically on the customer service.

Ordered a Large Hawaiian pizza to go from here, took about 30 minutes to come out. When I got home this pizza looked fantastic! The top was nicely cooked, covered in toppings and the crust was perfectly browned. On the bottom it was a different story. I picked up a slice and the pointy end hit the bottom of the box like a ton of bricks, spilling all the great toppings and cheese out onto the box. I flip the slice upside down to see what the deal was, and the bottom of the pie was way too undercooked, borderline raw. The edges were ok, but the center of the pizza was not done at all, enough to severely alter the taste of the pizza too. It was an odd sensation -- biting into a nicely cooked topside with a horribly undercooked bottom side. I could give them the benefit of the doubt seeing that if I was dining in this could have been corrected by simply sending it back to the kitchen, but because my order was to-go, my meal was ruined, and subsequently the South Shore Tiki Lounge loses my stars.

Best Mai Tai I had in Maui and ever!! Tiki done right! Had so many blah, crap, tropical cocktails while in Maui and HI. They are Doing the cocktails right instead of phoning it in for tourists. Was sad to duck in as we were leaving the island. Burger was overcooked but tasty for a basic burger. Food was average. Service was perfect. Locals were here, which is true test that it is legit. Great spot in Kehei. If we ever are lucky enough to be in Maui again soon, we will frequent this location.

Seriously the best pina colada on the island. Pin-up poison was tasty too. Space hasn't changed in two years. Worth a visit.

  • Sonya A.

Drinks: 5 stars. We only tried the Pina Coladas (regular and virgin with strawberry puree - "lava flow"), but boy were they good. Food: 3 stars. Burger was burnt, fish tacos were just ok. Atmosphere: 4 stars. Keep in mind that this is a paper plates and plastic utensils place, no frills. Suites me just fine (I have a baby who is prone to crying, so I like friendly loud non-fancy places), but judging by the reviews some people are upset by that, so just be aware of it.

Stopped in early evening for drinks and a snack with my sister on a random weeknight. It was kinda dead, but the back patio was cozy and the drinks & calamari were on point. Can't wait to go back!

Good service, good food and good drinks. This was a decent place to get an Afternoon bite. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty good. I love anything with a good BBQ sauce and this hit the spot. I also had the oh my goddess drink and it was good. Not too strong but I could taste the alcohol, the lava flow is a good sweet drink if you're looking for something towards that end. Overall stop here for happy hours!

Love the pizza. I usually order a large Jungle Pie (white sauce, garlic, red onion, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, black olives, artichoke hearts, parmesan, zesty italian seasonings, and chives) to go and enjoy a drink while I wait. It feeds three decent eaters pretty well. If that doesn't do it their appetizers hover around ten bucks and are pretty solid. My favorite is the crispy wings that comes with hot sauce and ranch on the side. Service has been hit and miss before but for the most part the good employees seem to stick around and those guys always treat me really well. If you're looking for a chill experience, stop in during the day or early evening. Later on they usually clear some space for a dance floor and have a DJ come in. Their day time musicians are what really impress me, though. Good drinks, good pizza, good vibes.

Edit: (changed from 2 star to 4 star) The business owner (Alma) has since messaged me saying that they investigated the incident and has let the waitress go... although my wish wasn't to get anyone fired (and I sincerely hope the waitress does find something better suited for herself), I also appreciate that they are doing things to make things nicer for their customers. Thank you Alma and I'll definitely be back! Original post: Came here for a pre-wedding meet-n-greet among friends and I gotta say the food (namely their pizzas) were great, the bartender was awesome, and the drinks were great. I'd recommend this place to anyone, if it weren't for one thing--the incredibly rude waitress that served us. She had a bad attitude from the the moment we came in. She had missed putting in some of our orders until we reminded her and her response was not, "I'll go check on that for you", but more of a rude, "Um... yeah, I put in the order when you ordered it." But we knew she hadn't because many people after us got their *similar* food served first. She also forgot to get drink orders put in... luckily we had a local in our group who was friendly enough with the bartender to make amends, but even when we told her that we didn't get drinks we ordered, she was very unapologetic and had the attitude of 'well, what do you want me to do about it?' She was so stand-offish that a person from our group told her off and some people from our party were so dissatisfied that they left her ZERO tip... I'm sure the waitress thinks that it was bad customers, not her own fault! I feel terrible for the owner for leaving a two star review... if it hadn't been for this one server, this place would easily be getting a 4, possibly 5 star review. Honestly, I wish I could remember her name so that I could warn everyone to avoid her... I understand she could have been having a bad day, but we all have jobs to do and it doesn't excuse her for being so horribly unprofessional.

This place doesn't look like much. I'll be the first to admit but it is a hidden gem! My husband and I went to Maui for our anniversary and wanted just some good pizza and found this place on yelp and let me say we were not disappointed! We got a pizza to share and drinks and it was great! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because we sat down at a table and the waitress was super slow to acknowledge us/take our order but once we moved up to the bar service was great! It's not a fancy place it's basically a neighborhood bar with badass pizza.

Went to this bar for a friends pre-wedding party and the waitress was incredibly rude to the entire party of about 20 people and got angry with us for not tipping for her horrible service. Some of the food was cold, she ignored a few people, she tried to tell certain people they order food that they didn't. The bartender was great. The waitress was horrible. My tip just go to the bar.

They have pickle backs here!!!! I haven't found another spot on island that does. Frock yeah!!! It has been a long time since I have been to this spot. 2 years to be exact. We stumbled in after a long day of drinking on the beach, and weren't quite ready to stop drinking. Asked for pickle backs after being turned down at every other spot on island, and to our surprise, they had them! Grabbed a couple, and some beers on Happy Hour, and sit back and heard the dj spin an awesome set. The vegetarian chili cheese fries was JUST what I needed, and they have a condiments bar to boot! Filled with sauces, salsas, jalapenos and peppercinis. You betcha I'll be back again for Happy Hour.

It's not easy to find fun nightlife in Maui, but for those that want to dance, this may be the best spot on the island. This is one of several nightspots in the Kihei triangle and stands out for great people watching - the outdoor patio is the is the place where the whole island comes to dance (or so it seems). To that end, the place does get packed on a weekend night - whether that's good or bad depends on your personal preference. It loses a star because of the small dance floor, but when I get back to Maui, this place is on my list to visit again. If you want to get out and dance in a club-like environment, put it on your list too.

Pizza here was really good! 2 of us shared a south shore combo pizza & had extras to take home. People there were really friendly too. This was our first visit to Maui & maybe I'm just used to southern hospitality but I've found so many people on this island unfriendly. We enjoyed our meal at the Tiki Lounge.

Outstanding service during happy hour. Calamari heaven. Tom Conway playing music on the patio. Perfect mid-afternoon aloha moment. It was the last day of our Maui vacation, and we really scored here. The place has a real laid-back feel, and did I mention the amazing calamari? Waitress's recommendation. Always go with it. Island beer, calamari, island music, afternoon breeze, yeah, Perfect.

Very laid-back and relaxing atmosphere. Live music on some nights. Full bar inside with some tables, but majority is outdoor seating on a cozy porch. Friendly service, but not-so-great food. I recommend the pizza if you're hungry - interesting flavors on thin crust. Overall though, wouldn't come here just for the food. Most of it is mediocre. Drinks and atmosphere is their selling point.

Stopped by for some happy hour margaritas, and was treated to a ginormous Sauza concoction for $4. That and the live music alone should merit a higher rating (I can't remember the artist's name, but he employed both sampling & beat boxing into his traditional Hawaiian tunes...bravo!), but the unfortunate part is that the food we ordered was simply awful. The Nachos came on a paper plate with big clumps of unmelted cheese. As with most things, in the absence of any comparison I'm sure that would be just fine & dandy, but the problem is that I've had really, really fantastic nachos served with fresh ingredients elsewhere (and for the same price). I definitely would come back, but sticking to the drinks menu seems the way to go.

Review based on its nightlife scene, only! This bar is one of the more popular "going out" bars among the local Maui crowd. I come here regularly with friends when I'm visiting Maui, mostly because it's so popular...and I almost always see a familiar face! Some people say Maui is "too small", but I think it's nice to catch up with people I haven't seen since high school! Aside from that, this venue could use some work. Its overall appearance is small, tackily touristy, and grungy. It's such a crammed space that during the busy weekends, it's so packed you can barely move! At that point the line to get in can get to be around 20 people or more. Drinks are reasonably priced, but there's only a few tables and the rest is standing room/dance floor. On the outside deck, the ledges and floor are sticky with spilled beer. Bathrooms are dirty and shared by the adjacent outdoor mall/plaza. Nearly always a happenin' place, but definitely not the classiest joint either.

Our group was looking for a place to have some lunch on our second day in Maui. My wife wanted to go to a tiki bar. Since we were staying in Kihei, South Shore Tiki Lounge was the nearest one we could find. The bar isn't all that large with both indoor and outdoor sections. We opted to sit at the bar and get some Mai Tai's. The bartender dissuaded us from ordering the "house" Mai Tai. He said he hated them and refused to make them and that he had a better recipe. He got no argument from us, we ordered four of his signature (he admitted he stole the recipe from a friend) Mai Tai's. The Mai Tai's didn't disappoint. Strong with a generous dark rum float on top, not too fruity. I went ahead and asked the bartender what the best food there was. He said the burgers and the pizza. I ordered a burger with cheese. The three others in the party all ordered the chicken sandwich. The burger was good, while the consensus was the chicken sandwich was dry. Some were expecting teriyaki sauce on the chicken sandwich and were disappointed. No matter though, we all came back to eat there on another day. A few days later we had a second meal at the tiki bar. We again ordered Mai Tai's, but it was a different bartender. I have to agree with the first bartender's opinion about the "house" Mai Tai. His signature recipe was better. This time we ordered a pizza, half cheese/half Hawaiian style. The pizza was thin crust and cooked very well. Nicely browned cheese and not too much sauce so the pieces held up with no sogginess in the middle. I would recommend South Shore Tiki Lounge for the pizza more than the burger. The service was good, though it was busier the second time we came and it was hard to get the waitresses attention. Lots of friendly locals hang at the bar. The Mai Tai's were good though I recommend the ones the bartender made with his own recipe. If you're in the mood for a tiki bar in Kihei you'll have a time good there.

This was the strongest and probably best mai thai I had on Maui. That said.. Food is served on paper plates and the quality is commensurate with that. If you're expecting that and are looking for the party scene, you might be okay with this place.

Fantastic! Great Tiki drinks, we had the Mai Tai and Lava Flow. The vegan chili fries were also fantastic, especially before the yummy individual pizzas!

Everything about this place is awesome. The drinks are great, the service is awesome, and the food is good. Their breadsticks are SOOO good! We went to the happy hour with live music quite a few times. Kanoa is especially awesome. If you have a chance to see him I highly recommend it!

Bad service. Food mediocre. Server was very rude and never around. We went with friends and were extremely upset when we left. My wife had the Mediterranean salad (full size). It was blah and was on a small 9" paper Chinet plate. I had the tropical tacos. They were bland. Not worth the $30 we paid.

Everyone has said most of the good stuff about it but I have to add my 2 cents. I like that this place is open air - it feels more like a beach bar than a place that's open to the parking lot and the street. It's the dive bar you need and must go to when you really can't stomach another recommendation to dine at the golf course. I'm not a classic rock fan, and I truly loathe Bob Seger, but this place has classic rock going full on and for some reason, Bob Seger didn't make me want to punch out my own eardrums when he started going on about 'old time rock and roll'. The music totally adds to the spirit of the place. Finally, the pizza. It was solid. Not thin crust, and definitely not thick, it didn't overdo the cheese and had just the right amount of toppings on it. Service was good, the beer selection was too. All and all, a good night out in South Kihei.

What a gem. I wish I found this on my first, not my last day on Maui. Where to start? The atmosphere was super relaxing. My pizza was quite good, and my Mai Tai was exceptional. The drink price was higher than other places I visited, but oh so worth it. The Blackstrap Molasses rum float made this Mai Tai a standout, and I have had my share of Mai Tai's. Then the drink comes served in a tiki man glass. I was in heaven. The bartender Grace was wonderful. She was super friendly and she knew her alcohol. I was able to even watch the first Denver Broncos pre-season game at this place. The only downside was that Grace is a 49ers fan, but I won't hold that against this wonderful little spot!

It was so nice to be able to order a perfectly done, medium rare burger--terrific, gooey, bacony, goodness! Average fries, but we did not need them. The pizza was thin crust, and tasty. We ordered the standard, pepperoni, Cdn bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, olives. The crust was done to perfection, and the toppings were ample and tasty. Our server was quick to assist with a takeway container. Dark lager is tasty, and a treat, cause not so easy to find. Ask to see Renee's "interpretive condiment dance", she's a sweetie. A must stop if you're in the area and worth the trip if you're not.

I think these are the best fish tacos on the island. Large portion of grilled fish on flour tortillas with a mango salsa, tomatoes. Not a lot of fillers or greasy batter. Pizza looked great too. Will be back!

Ordered nachos and they were amazing and really good. Also, ordered a Caesar salad which was delicious but I thought the full size would be larger. Anywho, the bartender/waiter was super helpful and nice.... But next time, I'm ordering pizza

Great place to come to on your first night in Maui. Unload the car then go relax with a great Mai Tai and pizza and start your Maui adventure. The black strap molasses in the Mai Tai is great.

Great cocktails. Great food. Their outdoor patio/dining area is as nice at their friendly staff. Large cocktails and great drink specials. I loved the Pina Colada with the Lava Flow most places on the island make a Lava flow with a nasty strawberry syrup...I made the mistake of falling in love with the on here at South Shore Tiki Lounge before trying to have it again on the island. South Shore uses fresh blended strawberries in the lava flow...it's the best I'd found on Maui. They have vegan and vegetarian options on their menu which is great if you're traveling with a mixed-party of veggie-heads and omnivores. Their pizza is great too. Stop in, share a pie, and toss back a few cocktails, you won't regret it.

Extremely hospitable, friendly servers. Prompt service. Delicious, cost-friendly tropical drinks. Yummy fish tacos!!! Cozy, laid-back, rustic beachy atmosphere This place is a must-try if you're visiting Maui!

The Hawaiian pizza had the LARGEST, JUICIEST chunks of pineapple we'd ever had on a pizza! So yum! We also had the Kihei Town pizza with local herbs and veggies, mmmmm!, and the Surf's Up pizza, can't remember what was on it besides goat cheese, but we liked it!. We went on a tiny pizza binge. Tastiness all around!

I rarely make time to post a review unless if the service was significantly phenomenal or horrid. However, this place was beyond horrid it was a nightmare! Not only was the service poor, the food was disgusting. I ordered nachos-the chips were stale, the ground beef on the nachos smelled badly-it was evident the beef was expired, cooked, frozen, thawed out then reheated in the microwave. I got food poisoned and had to bear the consequences on the first night of my vacation. fyi-I was there with a group of friends on 8/26/14.

Get the pizza...the one with pork, bbq sauce, and pineapple. We were so surprised at the flavors and crust that we had it twice on our vacation. This was a treat! They also have happy hour everyday on certain beers and a few other beverages. Although it wasn't on the happy hour list, I was a fan of the Maui Brewing cans. The blonde and wheat were fantastic. Now that we are back to reality on the mainland, I could use a cold one and a slice on the deck! Til next time!

Delicious piña coladas, decent service, relaxed and fun atmosphere. The nachos were not the best - very bland. The pizzas, however, are fabulous. We got the "surf's up" full pie - definitely way too much food for 2 ppl. It could have fed 4 hungry folks. It was so tasty and well prepared - way better deal than the much much smaller $25 bourgeois pizza from monkeypod. If I came back i would definitely order two mini 6 inch pizzas for two people though, or no appetizer.

the live music everyday is a great thing. the margarita i order was great as well, however the customer service and food..... sheesh! i walk in and NCAA mens basketball is on the television so i talk w/ whoever is watching it about who has played so far, little to i know that is the waiter i sit down with my girlfriend and he walks around us and doesn't even acknowledge that we are there. so then we go and sit at the bar hoping to be served or even get a hello. the bartender just yells from behind the bar to where we were sitting. i ask about happy hour menu he says no there isn't one. i go back to my first sitting area and grab the happy hour menu on the table.. (so he lied to me???) then i order the daily special ice cream macadamia nut ice cream. he says he might have sold the last one, he doesn't even say they are all out just brings me vanilla without acknowledging the fact that they are out.. i didn't want vanilla ice-cream. i walk up to the bar and point to the happy hour menu and order nachos he brings out microwaved nachos in a little paper bowl.. the $14 chicken sandwich was also on a paper plate... 14 dollars but can't afford real silverware and plates. then he brings the bill and holds it in my face without saying anything... it was weird vibes and horrible customer service all around. idont know if it was island time or what but would never come back or recommend to anyone. save your money and make it yourself.

First night in Maui we at the the Tiki Lounge. Handy that it is next to our favorite shopping area. I'm giving this 4 stars because I can't give it 3.5, which is what it deserves in my opinion, but the two ladies in my live both liked it, so i'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was just ok. I have to admit that the pizza on the next table looked very good. May try that the next time there. From a service perspective, I have one small complaint. They have a self service condiment bar where you can get all your goodies for burgers and fries. But they did not tell us about it until our food arrived. I would have liked to get my stuff while we waited for our food.

This is one of my favorite bars/restaurants on Maui. Located in the Barmuda triangle in Kihei, they feature a "happy day" (happy hour from 11-6 daily). The food is wonderful, particularly the pizzas, and the drinks are great. The bartenders, particularly Josh, Bart and Renny are entertaining and highly attentive. Most of all this is a FUN place! Highly recommend sitting at the bar if you can. You'll meet some fun people there!

This was our favorite restaurant that we visited in Maui. The early happy hour is what lured us in. Our waitress was very attentive and seemed to have a good rapport with regulars. No complaints with the food, everything was delicious. We got chicken wings and both thought they were the best we'd had in a long time. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. We ordered the south shore pizza and it was not the best but better than most. Lastly the drinks were stiff and cold, a perfect combination on a hot day.

I usually go to Tikis to order the used to be amazing look alike Philly cheese steak sandwich, vegetables perfectly cooked to perfection together with roast beef so well seasoned, but men this last time i went i had one of the worse experiences while eating. The cooking took like forever to begin with and it wasn't even packed at all. When the food arrived it was cold stiff cheese with raw vegetables put on top, the cook didn't even bother to heat the veggies or cheese so cold and just ugly looking. I asked the server this was like he just didn't feel like work cause that was a nightmare sandwich then when it returned, and gave the first bite i notice the whole bottom was soaking wet from the meat seating on it while they re-cooked the top part they didn't even bother to remove the meat and re heat the bread it was a horrible wet piece of food. They ended up not charging me for the sandwich but i already had such a bad experience that ruined the entire meal. They didn't care to provide a good sandwich that cook was a disgrace to get it wrong twice in a row. Without care at all. the worst part is that my friend ordered after me since i bragged how good it was she was starving and coundt wait anymore ( pregnant) she was forced to eat that horrible sandwich. UPDATE : the owner was kind enough to reach out to me after reading my review that shows how much she cares and thats very important theres space to improve and make it better a next time.

NO LI HING MARGARITAS! im beginning to think that no place in maui has a li hing margarita. mixed drink selection on menu is very limited. pizza here is pretty good. thin crust and cant go wrong with a 16" pizza for $18. they even customed it for us. half white and half red sauce. live music...nice laid back environment. awesome!!

Nice low key bar and restaurant. Very casual. Food comes out on a paper plate. Nice atmosphere and decent food. The burger was good and the fries were excellent! The caesar salad was good... but had alot of dressing. The server was very nice. Overall a good simple restaurant!

Spotted this place on Yelp before I even got to Maui...and it's a great joint to hang out and drink at. Service was great, drinks were even greater (2nd round of drinks were even stronger lol), and the atmosphere has gotten island vibe written all over the place. Tikis everywhere u look! I will definitely be back soon =)

The waitress was very good and on a Friday night at 9 PM it was crowded so she was hustling. The drinks were delicious and we sat in the bar at the tiny table with a funny chair--like uncomfortable. Guess after 9 PM food is not a priority as we had a burger and a Hawaiian chicken sandwich and both were overcooked and dry. Looks like lots of locals come there too, but not for food! We passed up a lovely restaurant nearby for this crummy meal :(

Came here with my sister and brother in-law after a long day of paddle boarding. We really enjoyed the throw-back 90s music playing on the outside deck where we were seated. The service was friendly and attentive, but didn't seem to know much about the food. When we asked what kind of fish was in the tacos she said she didn't know, some kind of white fish...good thing I like most white fish. I started off with a very tasty Pina Colada! YUM!! it tasted great and had plenty of alcohol, it did not disappoint. We shared the chicken nacho's which were enjoyed by all. The fish tacos are VERY large, but tasty. Nothing to write home about, but tasty! I would definitely recommend this place for someone looking for a casual place to have drinks and food.

Really wanted pizza one night saw it was voted best Pizza on Maui and ordered the South Shore Combo to-go. A 16" pizza is a pretty good size realized upon devouring the thing. The slices are a decent size (8 slices) and the taste reminded me of Round Table (one of the better pizza chains IMO). Didn't lack flavor and it satisfied the cravings. All the toppings came together well and was a tasty pizza. Is it the best pizza on Maui? Jury's out on that as there are a few other spots I'll try first before handing it the title. Their menu has a nice offering of variety and will come here for lunch next time.

We (my family and I) came here out of town. Which people have mention this pizza place was suppose to be good. One star for not a good service and price is $$ 2 stars for not enough topping and skimping On the pizza. Honestly, it's not like a wow factor. I have traveled a lot to know what a wow pizza is. And this just wasn't one of them unfortunately.

We went on an early evening Sunday and the entire "gang" was there to eat and dance, salsa, swing; the band played it all. Everyone was unbellievable friendly; the owners both came to visit at our table and ofcourse, everyone knew my BFF who lives in Kihei.. We have never tasted such a great pizza; everything was fresh and the sauce was OMG; I must say it was not just a pizza but one of the best meals I have had..Wow, I love this place!

The drinks here were phenomenal and strong, although a little sweet for my liking. The food was good but vegetarians beware that most of the dishes here qualify as "junk" or "bar" food. We ordered the vegetarian cheese chilli fries, the nachos, and the beet caprese. All were good. I give this place three stars because it was a little loud, drinks were a little too sweet, and it is next door to a sketchy adult shop!!!!

This place is fun and delicious! Think of burgers and hot dogs. They also have yummy yummy pizza and a fun atmosphere. Definitely like a little lounge. They have both indoor and covered outdoor seating, and one of the two time we ate here on our vacation, they had lovely live music. They have a sports bar theme in the inside, with tvs to watch sports. They even have tvs on the patio and surf videos are playing. They have Maui local brew along with some other fun and yummy drinks. Located next to lots of souvenir shops, this place was fun and delicious!

Happy hour prices are great! And margaritas come in a fun tiki glass. Fun island inspired drinks, and no skimping on the alcohol. Nice "jungle" patio for sitting and live, chill, local music. Burgers were ok but my husband and I both asked for them to be cooked Medium and they both turned out Well Done. And they were both spicy from way too much black pepper. Paper plates, plastic forks and serve yourself condiments but hey, its a bar. Overall good for drinks but not so much on food.

I wanted to like this place, because it had such a cute charm to it.. but I was unfortunately disappointed. So, let's start with the cons: - Slowwwwww service. And forgetful. I had to remind the waitress a lot about our drink orders. - The food we ordered was okay. The fish burger lacked flavor, and the surf's up pizza had too much cheese to taste any other seasoning or ingredients. - Portions were small, even by "normal" standards. I've been told I eat like a baby dinosaur, so I try not to be too judge-y about restaurant portions. But the size of the sandwich was about as big as my hand. - Be careful sitting in the patio area underneath the trees. Items will fall on your food or drinks. - Because of the slow service, we had to wait awhile for all the items we ordered. And I don't know if it's because it's a "seat yourself" type of place, but they definitely don't abide by "first come, first serve". People that arrived after us got their orders in before us?? Why this place still got two stars: - Happy hour from 11 am - 6 pm. (Wish they had more cocktails on happy hour menu, though.) - Drinks were deceptively strong. Pina Colada and Maui Sunrise tasted like smoothies, but had a punch to them. The margarita was just okay. - Calamari was decent, but you can really get that anywhere. Not enough to make me come back here.

Had lunch here after a long day at the beach. I love the atmosphere - great outside deck, fun 90's music. We started with three super strong cocktails - The Zombie did not disappoint - and the chicken nachos. The fish tacos are enormous - in hindsight I should have split them. The tacos were okay. I opted for the side of jasmine rice. The rice was cooked well, but flavorless. The cheese tasted like it came pre-shredded in a bag. The salsa was mild (a few chiles would have been nice). I can't remember the type of fish in the taco, but when we asked our server to tell us about it, she admitted to not knowing anything about it but thought it was probably a white fish (?) Despite the lackluster tacos, I would recommend this place. It's in a great location, just off S. Kihei Rd. and super close to water. Would be a good place to spend happy hour.

The tiki lounge is one of my favorite bars on the island. It has great old school tiki style decor and an awesome lanai. The lanai doesn't have a view or anything but the space is cool and there are flowers and ivy-type growth everywhere. They also have killer happy hour specials till 6 (I think) everyday. $4 margaritas are my favorite! My man loves the $3 pbr's too. I think they do live music for happy hour too. and there is a live musician or DJ after 10pm most nights. The best thing about tiki's though is the pizza. They have the most delicious pizza on this side of the island for sure. Unfortunately, you have to order the big one. No menehune size. Why you ask... bc the menehune size doesn't have the same deliciously crispy parmesan crust as the big one. The best pizzas are probably the Chicken Thai-phoon and the BBQ Chicken. You have to add pineapple to the BBQ Chicken for the ultimate experience. The service is also great. All the girls and bartenders are friendly and nice I love Kim and Rene and Kresta! All in all, check it out. It's definitely one of the best bars in Kihei.

When I needed to get out of the house during TS Flossie, I saw this place was open and settled on in for some drinks in the late afternoon. I'm often a solo traveler, so it was nice to have lots of open 2-person tables right by the bar where I could hang out and finish a couple of crossword puzzles. The bartender let me have my space, but also was available to refill my drinks -- a delicious margarita and mai tai. When the storm got worse, I decided to order the Mediterranean pie w/ mushrooms to go. I waited for a bit, but the bartender let me know that he wasn't happy with the quality of the crust on the first pizza and ordered another one for me instead. Additionally, he plied me with another drink on the house! I asked for a trash bag to cover the pizza box as I took it out in the downpour and that was no problem. This place totally impressed me with their service. If that wasn't enough, the pizza was absolutely divine! It came with tons of herbs on top and, of course, the crust was perfect. If I ever make it back to Maui, I'm definitely returning here.

Great place for dinner and drinks. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with our group of about 15 people during their dinner hour. Everything everyone got looked good. I got Beach Nachos with pork and a mango margarita. A good place to check out for live music and cheap drinks during their happy hour.

Looking for a place in Maui that isn't ridiculously priced and not touristy.... the South Shore Tiki Lounge is your answer. We him them in the afternoon in time for happy hour. We sat on the rear patio and enjoyed the live music..... Not the best band I ever heard, but they were ok... We had a few drinks and a split a personal pizza.... All discounted for happy hour. Get there early, as 20 minutes after we arrived, the place was packed... The service was great... people were friendly and a nice combo of tourists and locals.... The SSTL is a great way to spend an afternoon in Maui!

Service was very quick, attentive and friendly. Compared to other bar/restaurant choices in the vicinity, this one definitely felt like the best choice. Great price and calamari was alright. It was greasy but not heavily battered. Comes with yummy tartar and the cocktail sauce was pretty good. Normally I wouldn't touch it. I may just return one more time before I fly out! The nachos look really tempting.

I have been to this place about four times now! My first experience was on a Wednesday night in which a friend introduced me it to me a few years ago. I was surprised with the large crowd dancing to the live band in the back area. It ended up being a great night. The other times I came have always been for lunch and for drinks. The service is always prompt and friendly. I always order the Menehune sized pizzas. The pizza is the best that I have had on Maui. It is very comparable to the pizza place on Molokai which is very popular and very good. I really enjoy the atmosphere around the bar and back area. It is very relaxing and I find the place to be a nice mix of locals, surfers and tourists. Everyone seems to get along very well. The only bad side to this place is the bathroom. It is a public bathroom that is not apart of any restaurant so it is usually dirty. This is one of those places I will always make a must stop when ever I am in the Kihei/Wailea area!

I am going to give them two stars because the service is great, the drinks decent and they have an ok back patio. The pizza is not very good. Its a bit over priced and the sauce tastes like it was made with ketchup. I would say if you stop in do it for a beer or during happy hour but skip the pizza.

Pass the bar area and grab a seat in the back lanai which has about 10 picnic tables. A waitress will be right with you to give you menus and take drink orders. Meanwhile, you can watch a random rooster cauk at you or watch the single LCD TV set up against the wall. I ordered a Hawaiian Sausage Sandwich ($7.00) - Slightly sweet and oh so flavorful Portuguese style sausage with a helping of fries and bite-sized pickles. The sausage was juicy though slightly greasy, but nonetheless a stomach pleaser. I also tried the Maui Dog ($5.00) which is an all beef 1/4 lb. Kosher Dog, with a bed of fries. And this hot dog was HUGE!!! Nothing amazing about this dog, but just how a hot dog should be, with a nice snap to the skin. This is a low-maintenance place, so don't expect to be pampered by the waitress besides she taking your order, bringing your food to you, refilling your drinks, and dropping the bill off. Plastic utensils, napkins, and a plethora of complimentary condiments are located on a help yourself fixins cart in the center of the lanai. Items vary from Jalapenos, Peperoncini, Maui Onion Relish, Black Olives, Onions, Cheddar Cheese, Sauerkraut, and Sweet Relish. Help yourself to as much as you can, but just be sure to not be wasteful with what you take. Note: To all the kiamipani, 25% off your meal from 11 am - 4 pm.

The Tiki Lounge may very well represent the worst meal I had on Maui. I had the burger which was ordered medium rare, It was perhaps medium when I got it. Flavor-wise it was at best land and a lot of the salad and tomatoes tasted as if they would have been in the fridge for a few weeks. The burger managed to still be lightly cold while being to well done so probably made from frozen. The fries had a weird flavor to them so not sure what type of oil they use for them. Also tried the hot dog, the sausage was fine but made the mistake to order the chili and cheese on top. The chili was basically a can of beans with potentially some lone pieces of minced meat and if there was any spice on it I could not taste it. I could see the cheese was there but no taste from it. All in all food is at best a 1. Service did not really make up for it either, two young girls managing the total of 3 tables, they seemed forgetful, more interested in chatting to each other and the bartender then actually serving people so better stay away from this place if you enjoy good food or good service. A solid one rating.

What a disappointing meal on so many levels. Server was rude and unavailable for most of the time we were there. The restaurant was pretty empty and we waited a ridiculously long time for food that can only be described as mediocre at best. My friend actually ended up with food poisoning from her nachos. We will NEVER return.

Drinks were strong. We ordered a half-BBQ pork and half-Surf's Up pizza. It was surprisingly good! Fresh, piled high, not excessively cheesey. I would recommend people request crispy crust, because the big slices can flop around, requiring submitting to knife-and-fork. Service can get spotty when they're slammed. A few days earlier we had pork nachos on happy hour and they weren't good, but, undeterred, we wanted to come back and try the pizza. Plus the drinks are indeed good enough to lure us back. Good vibes, fun place, islandy atmosphere, great people watching.

HMMMMM. Well I walked into the place to hear some music (which they promote in print, etc). They said they have music daily from 4 to 7pm. So I get there and all of the seats by the band (of two) were effectively off limits. They "said" all of them were reserved. Seemed suspect to me. I think (surmise) they didn't want someone who was just there to hear the music taking up a seat. Manager said " all of those seats are reserved" and "why don't you sit inside" as he pointed to a chair by the front door (which as a side note is the farthest you could get from the music). Dear Manager - as a local I will never waste my time again coming into your establishment. Dear tourists - give it a shot. If your a couple you may be treated well. If your just a single person (a party of one) strolling the triangle don't expect to be treated with Aloha. Far too many places on Maui (in south Kihei for that matter) to put up with this. PS - They do not have a restroom on premises. You have to use a communal restroom (which is lets say far from clean).

I looooooooove this place! My sister first recommended this to me as part of the the "triangle". The happy hour here is amazing, the food is wonderful. Whenever I come visit my family in Maui, I have to come here. They have the best drinks. We came here for my impromptu bachelorette party right before I got married. They were having a karaoke/dance party that night, it definitely is a fun place to hang out. They even have some vegan dishes which was a great selling point for my best friend/maid of honour who was having a hard time finding some place to eat at when she was visiting. The last time I visited Maui, I stayed for 2 weeks and I visited South Shore Tiki Lounge about 5 times. Definitely go check it out and order a guava strawberry daiquiri, it's amazing!

I like the atmosphere. Just came in for a drink or two. Waitress got out drinks flipped. Hard to tell when drinking tiki and once we figured out and told her, nothing. Calimari is pretty good. Sat in the bar and door that leads to the kitchen slams very loud every time someone lets it close. VERY LOUD. EVERY 20-30 seconds. ,.. Check please

Check out the Maui Weekly for a list of performers for the week. HH specials are pretty decent. Also - if you're up for some late night munchies - the food is AOK. (I had pizza and wings and my old stand by Newcastle - which are less than $5). I will admit I come here with the hubby to escape for an hour or three and perhaps get our grind on (food and on the dance floor). I will regret telling you this - but I love their Monday night performer - his ability to adapt or change the key to any song to fit his groove - a.ma .zing! Super chill - not overly touristy - and rarely pretentious.

I'd give it a 3.5 star rating really. The place itself is pretty small, they had live music and I believe do every day 4 to 6. The outside patio was packed during the music so we sat inside and had a drink. We ended up leaving and coming back for dinner. During dinner the patio was open. We ended up having kahlua pork pizza and a salad Service was pretty slow I thought for not being that busy in there. The other bad thing is they dont have their own bathroom you have to use a gross public one. Prices are high but its Hawaii prices are high everywhere. I guess i've been to better places but the pizza was pretty tasty.

Kick it up a star for the drinks. We had excellent tropical drinks, and a plate of nachos. Good nachos, not great. Stick with Tiki Lounge as a place for a drink, not a meal.

We heard on the radio while driving around Maui that this place had a ladies night on Wednesday nights!! My girlfriend turns to me and says, "we are so there tonight!" So after watching the ulalena show in Lahaina we drove our little butts to South Shore Tiki Lounge in Kihei which was about a 40 minute drive. We found the place and found some parking in the lot. We got there a bit early because they didn't start the dancefloor yet. I think we were ready to boogie down! While waiting for the crowd to get in and the music to get started we ordered some nachos and calamari along with some cocktails! The nachos were good, the calamari was average. The drinks were great, especially the specials! There was a small dance floor set up, but once the music started we went out to dance and didn't really care if no one was out there. Someone has to get the party started. Soon after people followed and we had the tiny dance floor filled. The DJs played good music and they were entertaining and funny. The crowd was fun...and all in all we had a great time during ladies night. PS. They have RED STRIPE!! Horray Beer!! youtube.com/watch?v=d7tR…

Hate to be a downer cause I was really looking forward to this place and it was on my list of places to visit. Sort of out of the way from where we were staying and definitely not worth the cab fare. We went in the afternoon so maybe nightlife is much better? We thought we could wander around afterwards but it's not really that kind of an area. This place is tiny. We took two stools at the end of the bar, ordered a beer and a drink. 1 star for the the bartender who was super friendly and nice). We were going to grab a quick lunch and a couple of drinks. Some local toothless dude sitting next to my husband was talking jibberish non-stop about landscaping and sports while I leafed through some tourist brochures sweating and sipping my orange juice meh-tai. Yawn. Crossed this one off the list. YMMV if you go at night or just grab a pizza or something at a table.

Don't let the setting fool you. This is a pretty serious kitchen with great food and fantastic pizza. All of the drinks are hand crafted not shot out of a gun and the service is always good. Plus there is a nice happy hour with live music out on the lanai. When family and friends come to visit, I always make sure Tiki is one of our stops.

Good atmosphere, good service, great food, good prices. I really like this place and come here often for happy hour. They lose a star because we find the drinks to be cheap but very weak. The margaritas are like all sour mix and barely any tequila. Other than that, great place.

    (4)
  • Christina H.

This place has really good pizza for a decent price (about $8 for personal aka menehune) The chicken Tai phoon is so good! $4 margaritas and Bloody Marys during happy hour. The only other menu item I've ordered other than pizza is chili dog, and I decided I'm sticking with pizza, not that it was bad, but just not as good as the pizza. They have live music starting in the early evening. Nice island vibe.

Great vegan burger!! And my husband loved his medium-rare hamburger. I really wanted to try the amazing-looking pizza but there wasn't a vegan cheese or dairy-free option. Decent Mai-tais but the frozen drinks were better! Friendly staff, plenty of parking. Recommend!

Great music. Edible pizza. If you like pizza in the style of Papa Johns et al., then you'll rave like everyone else on yelp about how great this pizza is. As for me, it was fine. But if this is some kind of pizza epiphany, y'all need to get out more!

Had a pretty sad vegan burger here. The patty was pretty awful. I wanted to like it, I'm a vegetarian and it's hard to get people catering to my needs, let alone vegan. So they get points for having it as an option... but sadly it was just not a great burger. Especially considering we went to Stewart's Burgers down the rode and they were right on the money with their veggie burger. I recommend you go there instead. They had decent happy hour though! Good prices on drinks :)

My wife was craving pizza on our honeymoon so we swung into South Shore for a late dinner. The seating inside is limited and has a mix of decors. The tiki bar is a nice and there is a lot of art on the walls. There is a large patio out back where we sat. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and gave us great service! We had the BBQ Chicken and South Shore Combo (both in 6-inch personal size). Both pizza were very flavorful, hot with a crispy bottom and tasty crust. If you're in the mood for pizza this place is a must!

Kamaaina Happy Hour from 11AM-4PM Everyday...25% off all food and drinks! Yay... Well, we learned the hard way that "Kamaaina" means "Locals"...so we ended paying full price for our so-so burger lunch. Meh

This is a classic Tiki Bar tucked away in the Kihei Triangle. The bar food is good and the drinks are strong. This is a great place for a snack and cocktail before deciding what you want to do for the evening. It has a great crowd and live music. Definitely a place to be when you are in the mood for a night in Kihei Town.

Now I am only reviewing there night atmosphere... Personally I think that the drinks are good therefore I will rate them two stars. They also have good dj's! However the dance floor is small and it gets super packed at night. I am a local and to me this just seems like a bunch of people staring at each other from across the balcony smooshed in like sardines watching ratchets dance....A few of the bouncers are nice like Henry, but many of them need attitude checks. They are a bit punchy and in my opinion should never be allowed to work with people under the influence of any substance if they can't deal with their own emotions much less some one elses. I would rather go to Haui's Lifes A Beach, Dog and Duck or Diamonds Ice Bar and Grill.

We tried this place out after hearing great things about it. We went on a Monday night, and the guy who was playing live music was AWESOME! We each ordered a drink, my boyfriend got the lava flow, and I had the Haupia (a dessert-style coconut drink). The lava flow was pretty good, as was the Haupia, both nothing to write home about. The pizza was good, and the kitchen was nice enough to let us get half margherita and half pepperoni. I wasn't a huge fan of the crust (I think it was some kind of crust with cheese cooked on top of it), but overall it was pretty good. Fair prices, too.

3 1/2 stars: Overall a positive experience. The food was good but nothing amazing. I had the Mediterranean salad and South Shore Pizza. A nice, upbeat, modern, and cute place with nice music made it seem local. Good service, and a decent place to come for dinner after a long day. Great if you're looking for a happening night life.

Get the Sweet Kalua pizza! So good! I just had a leftover slice for breakfast, and it's just as good cold :) We also tried Da Hawaiian pizza and regular burger and fries which were more average, but still good. We got the food to-go, but there seemed to be a pretty cool, laid back vibe to the restaurant when I came in for the food.

Best Mai Tai on Maui, hands down. There's a lot of mediocre Mai Tais in Maui but this one is the best I've had. The Cruzan blackstrap molasses rum is the secret but all the other flavors add. The food is ok if you want pizza or salads. Even the virgin drinks for the kids were fabulous. The outdoor patio is tucked away in a tropical garden setting. Watch out for the checkpoints in Kihei. They're looking for tourists who have one too many.

Went here our first night just for drinks. Great bartender and the drinks were excellent. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. Went the next night to try the food. Their thin crust pizza is delicious. I'm sure all of them are good. My boyfriend got the burger and it was a very good size and very tasty as well. Definitely recommend.

It was alright. Being close to our condo, it was a decent place to get a burger and beer. The bartender was 5 star, he knew how to pour my Guinness. Place is small but worthy for a try. I did not care much for the DJ. We had a large group, 15 people maybe, and he was talking smack for us not dancing. Dear DJ, place some good music that we can dance too. Idiot. After that we just left. Good thing that was our last night. Service was good each time we went there. Atmosphere was good. I had ordered the chicken sandwich, it was good. fish sandwich, kinda dry. I would probably need to get drunk first then eat. Overall I would only come back if a group of people wanted to go, but i would not put this place in the suggestion pool.

Tucked away and hoping it was a hidden gem...I was hopeful because of the solid reviews but i was left pretty blah about it. It was our second day in Maui and the BFF and I were coming back from Makena and decided to pop into Kihei for a drink and found this place through Yelp. I was still on a total Mai Tai kick and ordered theirs seeing it was their signature drink. I wish I would've just gone with the beer...they used this dark molasses that made me cringe. We had a few other drinks which were much tastier. The service was good and we sat out on the patio and enjoyed how laid back it was.

My friend's food was good (according to him), and our mai tais were good. Really just a good place based on the tiki ambiance. The singer who performs cover songs was entertaining. I wish I had checked out this place more. Pretty much all the happy hours in the Triangle offer the same or almost the same deals.

Tiki Lounge has really great pizza! One of my favorite pizza places on Maui. They use kind of a thinner crust that I really like. What I like most though is it's not just your standard pizza place with standard run of the mill pizza's. They have alfredo sauces and more exotic ingredients and pizzas if your into that. They also serve pizza until midnight because on the weekend they have a DJ and a lot of locals hang out here. I would check out out for sure.

I've been frequenting South Shore Tiki Lounge since my first trip to Maui a few years ago. You can't beat their daily happy hour specials and the food is pretty decent. I usually eat pizza here (you can get it by the slice or a whole pie if you are with a group.) The crust is thin and it's not super greasy. I also dig on their hot wings and jalapeno poppers (get them when they are on special for 50 cents each.) I can get pretty toasted in here on $4 drinks but if I am being good, I just have a lychee martini and call it an afternoon. Sitting on the patio is nice when they have live music - you can't really escape it in the bar, so just let yourself be one with the island vibe and raise your tiki cocktail glass when appropriate.

So when the boyfriend and I overslept our nap after an afternoon snorkeling at Molikini, we woke up with hungry bellies and no idea where to eat in this new small town we were vacationing in. Ta-da! Yelp app to the rescue! But there was still the problem that everything was closed at 8:30 - 9. South Shore Tiki Lounge to the rescue! Open until 2 this place was the cure to our late night munchies. The place was a mere twenty minute walk from our hotel (Maui Coast Hotel) and though there were barely any streetlights on the way and the moon had disappeared for the night, we made it there safely. The place is nestled among a few other bars open until 2, so it's not like it's the only option in this quiet town. I had a Mai Tai that was on happy hour special, but that was just O.K. But maybe that's just me and I don't really drink fruity drinks. After that a cheap bottle of beer was enough to keep me happy the rest of the night. Also we ordered a few individual sized pizza's and calamari. The food was good and our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall I'm grateful to South Shore Tiki Lounge for being open, providing us with a tasty meal thus saving us from ABC store food, and giving us something to do at night so we didn't waste a minute of our vacation.

Super cool and authentic tiki lounge located in Kihei serving up great food and boozy drinks. We came here 3 times during our time on Maui it was so good. Sarah is a great bartender and serves great drinks! The mai tai here is the best on the island; trust me I've tried a lot of them. But I think Tiki Lounge takes the cake because it is really boozy yet well balanced, and only $8! Mala Ocean Tavern's is less boozy but well balanced at $12. Plus this place is so unassuming you gotta love it. The waitresses are friendly and outgoing so much that you feel like a local. I also tried the Sneaky Tiki and man is it sneaky! It doesn't feel strong when you drink it but by the end you are totally feeling it! Love love love this place. If I lived here I would be here once a week.

I was expecting this place to suck, but was surprised it did not. Decorations in the bar are fun (hooray for pufferfish lamps). The only way I can describe the bartender is surly-but-likeable. He has a great playlist and while the drinks were mediocre, they were very strong and relatively cheap.

Flew in from Oahu to Maui on Thanksgiving day and this is first place we hit for a late afternoon lunch. Then again everything is closed so we were really glad we ended up in this gem of a place at South Shore Kihei area. There was a small group of regulars at a bar and we have the whole outside patio to ourselves so seating was fast. Since it wad happy hour, I ordered the Bloody Mary for $4 but seems watered down that usual so I thought maybe too much ice but since it was good, I ordered another but unfortunately run out. I ordered the signature bartender's Mai Tai next which was indeed refreshingly good. The whole family was hungry so ordered hotdogs, calamari and personal pizza for the kids which they enjoyed and finished up while the wife and I had the Burger with Mushrooms which was Devine. The live singer was awesome and had a diverse line up to cater to the diverse crown which by that time had tripped. as she started. Lea served us with great care and attention so bravo and thanks for adding to the great Maui welcome experience. Total bill for 2 adults and 3 kids including some cocktails was $72. Will definitely come back before we leave or next time we come back.

Took the family for some authentic Hawaiian pizza and the place did not disappoint. We went on a Friday at 6:30pm and it was full but not packed as we were able to find a table right away. There were plenty of families there for dinner even though it is a "bar". The beer selection was okay but I wished they'd had more beers on tap. However the purpose of the trip was to get my daughter a real Hawaiian pizza in Hawaii (her request). Their Da Hawaiian pizza was delicious. It was a thinner style crust (not paper thin but not thick crust). The sauce and cheese was great and the toppings were top quality. You can tell just by looking at the pineapple that it didn't come from a can and it tasted like fresh Maui pineapple. The price was very reasonable for four people. I would definitely go back again on my next trip.

The Tiki Lounge is a great place for a relaxing beverage or three. The house Mai Tais are just OK, but they'll happily customize to your expectations. They've Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale, and a well stocked bar, so you'll likely get what you need. After several evenings of rigorous data collection, I strongly recommend hanging at the bar. There are tables in the back that seem comfortable enough, but the bar has a good vibe. It's a bit of a trade hangout, so you'll likely find yourself chatting with bartenders or waitstaff from the area. The music is exceptionally well done, and interestingly eclectic, hand selected by of the bartenders. They have live music early evening (6-7); this was not so good the couple nites they intruded, and was awful compared to the recorded mix. Food is pretty good. The kalua bbq was great, burgers perfectly fine. The area is funky, with several bars surrounding this place, and a handful of urban campers scattered around the open air mall. No worries, just "local color"

Service is great but the menu is a bore. Everything tasted fresh but honestly, I don't know why I was in that side of town. I didn't regret eating here but I wouldn't recommend it and won't eat here again...unless I want to get drunk

It had been a fine day of scuba diving, but we were thirsty and hungry. Visions of a hearty lunch and a bottle or two of Fire Rock prompted our return to the Tiki Lounge, where we could enjoy the mid-October afternoon weather, fill out dive logs and luxuriate in total relaxation. The Tiki Lounge is a fine place to kick back, located near an open-air market and interesting shops. I visited three times, always in the afternoon because we had other evening plans, so I can't speak to the evening entertainment. I thought it was a great post-dive pit stop, and I hope to return to toast other dives in days to come.

Gotta give some serious kudos to the Tiki Lounge. Great bar, great outdoor restaurant. We've hit here a couple of times, and not been disappointed yet. Wife usually has the salad (that two X chromosome thing), while I usually have their bacon cheeseburger (that Y chromosome thing). The cheese is cheddar, and real (who woulda thunk that real cheddar still exists). They provide a stand for you to do your own "fixin's", so you have only yourself to blame if the burger isn't perfect. :-) The fries are excellent. AND they have wifi! (trust me, on Maui, this is a HUGE kudos!!!).

Nice little spot on our bar hoppin' afternoon! The Tiki Lounge has a nice outdoor seating area away from the "hustle" of the kiosks. We were lured in by the sound of live music and a female singer strumming some of my favorite tunes. We didn't eat here, but the food and pizza's coming from the kitchen looked good!

By far my most frequently visited "going out" spot partly due to lack of options. It's an anchor in the "Triangle" of Kihei, and provides a modest dance floor on the back patio of the island-themed bar. I've been countless times for the night out, but have no idea how the food is; it's a strictly drinks and a dance floor for my diet. Nights are often hit and miss where you get the occasional lone Hippie on the dance floor for the entire night or a gaggle of locals aged 21-30 drinking, laughing, doing exactly what Tiki's intended. With that said, a combination of the right crowd and a few drinks under the belt; Tiki's gets my vote for best night out.

I just really needed a mai tai one night, so we made a stop at this place. It was pretty early, so we got a spot on the back deck. My four stars are for the mai tai. Love that they use the black strap molasses rum. It gave it a unique taste that I enjoyed 'til the last drop. Not so much on the poppers. They were eh. I was intrigued by the burger condiment bar, though. Maybe I'll have to give that a go next time around. This place is a definite must if you're craving a tropical cocktail.

Easily our favorite watering hole on Maui. If you've seen the décor of some of the tiki lounges in the Bay Area, you're ready for South Shore, but they don't have the warm nights and the relaxation of a tiki bar in Maui. Notice I didn't say "real tiki bar" because there are some amazing places far from the Hawaiian islands, and the origins of some of the classic drinks like Mai Tais are on the mainland. The most credible story of the making of the Mai Tai has its origin at Hinky Dink's in Emeryville, made by Vic "Trader Vic" Bergeron. This is a very good tiki bar, in a beautiful place, and with friendly waitstaff. The drinks could have been a little bit stronger, but we were drunk on the tiki vibe, so it was all good. I think we were spoiled at one point by an incredible tiki bar in Vegas (Frankie's) and their stiff drinks so it's hard to give any other place 5 stars now. It's in a little cluster of restaurants and lounges (and a sex shop!) that makes for a fun party-town-within-a-town and we went to the Irish bar across the way right after for some music. Be careful, though - lots of cops coming through and watching as you leave. Stay safe and (relatively) sober!

Have been there twice in the past 3 days since we arrived in Kihei. First time, we enjoyed the inviting, serene patio, pleasing solo guitarist and a delicious pizza & cocktails during their happy hour (11-6 daily, drink and food specials). There is usually live entertainment on the patio from 4p-6p. The pizza is their calling card-it is so tasty and has such complex, fresh flavors. Tonight, we went there a little later in the evening and sat at the bar. A totally different, yet equally enjoyable experience. The energy was up a bit, the patrons in the bar were friendly, and our bartender was attentive, witty and hip. My wife chomped on a tasty burger, and I was content sipping a tasty Longboard pale ale. My rating is actually 4.5 stars. I am only deducting .5 stars for ditsy, sometimes forgetful waitresses. If you're doing the "triangle" in Kihei, make this a must-visit. You will not be disappointed.

After a happily exhausting day of hours of swimming and walking along the beaches, we sat down for a relaxing dinner, which concluded when a muscular man came along to move our table, clearing space for the dance floor and a packed crowd that materialized precisely at 10:10 pm. By 1am there's me jumping around like a maniac on the dance floor, likely the only tourist out there, and not caring one lick beyond what the DJ was playing next. 3 stars for great food (Mediterranean thin crust pizza, and chicken-pineapple sandwich), exceptional waitress and easy-going setting. +1 star for the impromptu and very fun Saturday night of dancing. First 2 drinks were standard tourist drinks: not-very-alcoholic, but got progressively stronger, (guess we had to prove we were in it for the long haul?). Did someone say they were tired? Not me!!! I'm on vacation and Tiki Lounge is fueling me!!! Apologies to Kama'aina, for what may have been an embarrassing display of enthusiasm. Adrenaline coupled with non-touristy drinks will do that.

My husband and I came here looking for a happy hour. The Mai tai was nice and strong. Music was good too. We ordered a chicken pineapple pizza for an appetizer; it hit the spot. I did not see any tikis, but definitely liked the ambience here. Seemed to have a nice mix of locals and tourists.

I was here for happy hour (sound familiar?) with another large party of folks and had a really great time! All I can say is that you can't go wrong with $4 premium well drinks. Other happy hour drink specials that go for $4 include: Sauza margaritas, Guinness and Bloody Mary's. They do offer cocktail specials, but they are a little more expensive ($8 - $9) and on the sweet/umbrella side like: Tiki-Rita, Mango-Strawberry Daquiri, Chi Chi, Pina Colada and Lychee-Watermelon Martini. Happy hour runs from 4pm - 6pm daily. I didn't really eat all that much since I was kind of full from having a late lunch at Da Kitchen, but I did manage to have some shrimp cocktail and fries. Tasty! I didn't partake in the pizza, though it drew praise from my friends.

We visited this restaurant with high expectations. We sat down at 7:30 PM..an HOUR later we still didn't have our food. There was one big party that came in before us, so we were told that the cook was doing the best he could...but an HOUR? We are not faulting the wait staff, who were friendly and apologetic, not even the cook...but we HAD to leave as our 11 year old kids were falling asleep already. When we were leaving, the manager refused to even comp our 2 drinks or to comp ANY of the food which he claims was ready. As we had a long drive, to eat in the car while driving was not an option. He was incredibly rude and completely inconsiderate of our patience and wait time. Follow up: The owner of this establishment did contact me and offer a certificate for a future meal. While the timely response and gesture was appreciated, the amount would only cover the cost of drinks and not worth the 30 minute drive. My advise to her would be to fire the manager that was there at the time and find someone with decent PR skills that can handle the pressure:) Again, I do appreciate that she immediately tried to offer a solution and get us back.

6th day in Hawaii - Wednesday - 9/17/08 Pretty cool place to chill and hang out for dinner. They also have happy hour from 4-6, but we missed it by 3 hours. At 10:00 PM they open it up to a DJ, so you can dance the night away. We didn't stay until then, so I am not sure how bumping it was there. We ordered some mai tais, strawberry margaritas, beer, chili cheese fries, and 2 orders of their specialty pizzas for 4 people. The servings were pretty big so we ended up taking one entire pizza to go. Pricing is pretty reasonable. They have cool outdoor patio seating.

No drinks on the roped off dance floor. No dancing outside of the dance floor. Apparently those two things cause a ruckus. Should have been a sign that the nightlife at this place can become a bit sketchy. We had a really large group which helped us all have a good time, but as it got later, the crowd got rowdier and drunker which signaled that it was time to say nighty night.

I went to this place on vacation and while the food was good, the service could have been better. The waitress was kinda snobby and to top it of, I took the merchant copy where I had writen in a 6 dollar tip,and when I checked my bank statement, I saw she took it upon herself to give her a 11 dollar tip. Luckily my bank took care of it for me and reimbursed me, but as a waitress myself, I dont know how she felt she had the right to do that.

$8 nachos on a small paper plate. Not warm not even salty, just greasy. Yuck. At least the beer was cold.. Pizza isn't too bad but it's super expensive.

This review is purely for the nightlife. There were awkward moments. Some gross moments. Some fun moments. Some sleepy moments. We came here two nights in a row since it seemed to be the only one that was somewhat happening in Kihei. I had high expectations for Lahaina but boy I was wrong. People come to Kihei to fiesta and it seemed like Tiki was their safe bet. Dance floor: Their dance floor was roped-off so I don't know if you consider it a real dance floor. There was a projection screen playing music videos and a dj in the corner. The dance floor was positioned so people sitting down can pretty much watch you boogie. It was fun observing the awkward white boy dancing or the gross sweaty couple trying to hump each other. One good thing is that they have a lot of happy hours with cheap drinks. Tuesday Nights are Tequila nights $3 Sauza Shots $4 Sauza Margaritas $5 Patron Shots Wednesday nights are ladies night so they offer $2 Smokin' Shooters $3 pink shots & drinks $4 pink martinis However, my sauza margarita was not tasty at all. Yuck. The first night was great because they played a lot of old school hip hop which brought back great high school memories with the gals. However, second night the waitress gets a negative star. You pay as you order your drink at the tables. We each got our change back and decided we will leave the tip on the table in the end after we're done finishing ordering drinks. But newp! This overly sassy waitress had the balls to say "what, so no tip?" "Uh, we're going to leave the tip on the table later." Chill out woman. Since then you could see her eyes roll to the table every time she came by just to make sure we will tip. That's a huge no no in my book. Overall, if you got nothing better to do in Kihei at night (which is likely) then come roll out to Tiki for some cheap drinks and awkward dancing. Edit: The owner personally messaged me on yelp apologizing and found that behavior unacceptable and will talk to her employees. I'm glad they have good customer service with concerned owners!

The best veggie burger I have ever had. The waitress was so friendly, laid back abd awesome. The cocktails were so good and everything was so cheap. The ambience was great. Just truly a Maui feel when you dine here.

VOTED BEST BAR ON MAUI 3 YEARS RUNNING BY MAUI TIME PAPER!!!!! (2006,2007 & 2008) Simply the best!!! Amazing food! (no msg!) Awesome staff, and the owners pretty Hot too ;) Try one of their delicious pizzas my personal fav has to be 1/2 hawaiian and 1/2 margherita!!! Bonus: they also have live music...every night!!! wahoo!

Nice atmosphere for lunch. I've never had anything I like very much here with the exception of the pizza and hot dogs. They have a fixings bar where you can dress up your dog right. Nachos were pretty awful today. Decent drink specials during happy hour, but stick with the pizza or any of the hot dogs. Be prepared for paper plates. If you require the queens' china you will be disappointed. Service was good. Very nice server.

Came here twice on vacation and had the same server on both nights. This is the type of tiki bar you think of when you imagine vacation in Hawaii. Our server was SO sweet and was very attentive and helpful. I never ate here so I can't comment on the food, but the table next to us ordered a pizza and I was so tempted to snag a piece when they weren't looking! Good thing I have shame. On my last night in Maui, I can honestly say I was sick of Mai Tais. However, I had heard so much about the Mai Tais here that I felt almost obligated to try it here, and boy was I glad that I did. You can tell the difference in the ingredients on your first sip because of the black strap molasses rum! I guess you can say South Shore serves the Ferrari of all Mai Tais. Yeah, I said it.

My husband and I enjoy going to the Tiki Lounge for the fish tacos. They are fairly good...with the exception of the taco wrap being more of a thick pita than a taco. Atmosphere is open air, casual, and relaxing. Seemed good for families. Prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly and service is good.

I am really surprised that there aren't more tiki bars in Hawaii. I really like a good kitschy tiki experience and I wish there were more opportunities to experience it in Hawaii. The South Shore Tiki Lounge does a decent job of capturing the tiki spirit. The decor inside is pretty good retro tiki with the perfunctory grass thatches, tiki gods, and tiki torches, but the place is really small. The back patio is similarly decorated and features live music every night. The drinks are really quite delicious. These guys have one of the best mai tais I've ever had. Their secret ingredient is Cruzan Black Strap, a delicious, thick molasses-based rum that really adds a ton of depth. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! At 11 am on Sunday. Is that a bad thing? The service is also very good. We were there four times and had four different waitresses but they were all equally attentive and friendly. This quickly became our go-to place for drinks in Kehei. It was walking (sometimes stumbling) distance from our condo and we went there for drinks pretty much every night.

Random visit...the night we showed up there was a dj in the back and a whole bunch of people dressed like they had just walked of an Austin Power's set on LSD. Good music and a rambunctious crowd! Cute decor...

Friendly and adorable staff (and staff dogs!!) Tasty fruity drinks, agreeable though not ground shaking food, and really neat live music. I popped my Mai Tai cherry and will now judge every future one off this dalliance. It was tasty, even for a "neat" scotch drinker like my self. Drinking anything other than a sugary blended drink with an umbrella in Hawaii just seemed like i would be calling down the wrath of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Come here, hang out, and then go buy a cool plant in the pavilion behind the bar. Wed is ladies night, whatever that means. i assume drink specials. We ate on the outdoor porch every time, and you know, it just felt nice. Do it if you just want to chill, and enjoy some good company/boozahol.

My wife and I stopped by here after wandering Maui for the day. We decided we needed Mai Tais and we have to say, these did not disappoint. The black strap molasses rum is a real kicker, but be ready for it, it is not your standard Mai Tai. If you're looking for a super fruity sweet drink, keep on going. But if you want an amazing Mai Tai, head on in. We ordered nachos, and those were good and tasty even if the plate was a little on the small side. We came back for the Pizza and a salad, both were great tasting and the wait staff was super friendly. I had another Mai Tai, but on the waitresses recommendation, I tried the Treasure Island, also a great tasting tropical drink. My wife had the Bikini Blonde Lager, great tasting local beer! On our last day we had lunch, burgers with fries, wow, even their burgers are great. We have found our new watering hole on Maui. I'd recommend you give it a try. We never stayed long enough to check out the nightlife which starts at 10pm. But as a great lunch and dinner bar with great drinks and food, you pretty much can't go wrong.

I had a hard time deciding on the rating. I was here in October on the weekend and had a great time, loved the music, and the drinks. In July we came on a Sunday and it was very slow which is to be expected in Maui. They had a live band that we didn't like. We wanted more of a club atmosphere and wanted to dance and the live band wasn't cutting it. When they have a DJ this can be a fun little spot to hang out.

Mai Tai: tastes great, but weak. I am a "Larry-Light-Weight" and still no buzz Fish Tacos: $14+ over priced and bland AVOID (coconuts grill, maui tacos, jawz and joy's place all do way better and cheaper) Habanero sausage: The only thing they did well. It was tasty ... hot in temperature AND Spice

We were in Maui for a week, not even staying in Kihei, but we made a point of visiting the Tiki Lounge twice. Nice relaxed atmosphere, live music, fair price and delicious fish tacos! We got there on the tale end of happy hour and downed a few margarita's before we took our seats. If you are looking for somewhere affordable and unpretentious on your trip make a stop.

1 star for the great bartender from TX originally, 1 star for great strip steak on their menu, 1 star for this bartender's amazing pina colada! 1 star less for this guy at the bar next us that kept hitting on me and my friend, and another star less for the other trashy looking barter girl flirting with trashy looking guys the next day. Man this guy's recipe for pina colada has changed my pina colada making at my bars! This was a great tip and just a dash of what he adds enhances the flavor soo much! I'll let you know if you come see me at my bar and you can try it for your self!

I love this place. The tiki theme is awesome, sometimes they have good live music and i LOVE THE PIZZA. Best pizza on the island. Yeah, flatbread is good too, but Tiki Lounge is better & never have to wait for a table. They just need to get some Maui Brewing on draft ;)

  • Andrea T.

This place is laid back and the bartender is awesome. Great music and drinks. The bartender actually introduced me to my current favorite drink -- grape vodka and sprite! Its never been too crowded there when I've gone. We go every time we are in Maui and always have a great time.

Pulled pork sandwich was very good. You can get your tacky tiki drink requirement for visiting Hawaii here, and many of them are good (although one of ours, I think it was a lava drink, was disgustingly sweet). Service was mediocre, but the atmosphere on the patio was great the night we were there.

I thought it would be a good idea to add a "nightlife" rating to those who were there for food... I've never had food there... but I've had PLENTY of drinks!! We go on Monday nights and there's always a fun band playing on the deck. They are always really chill and play fun reggae and popular music too. We always go with a big group of people and until we are finished we usually have a bigger group than what we started with. I love hanging outside on the deck listening to music in the warm air with all my friends. The barstaff is always good to us... we try not to be TOO obnoxious :) Great, highly recommended if you are in the area

OMFG!!!! To the Nth degree!!!!! I uber-love this place. Came to Maui for my girlfriend's wedding and decided to stay in Kihei instead of Wailea and oh man was that a good decision. I was in walking distance of the Tiki Ultra Lounge. JK- It's not an "ultra" lounge, but it sure was crackin'! Mad locals and tourists alike getting down to the sounds of some reggae mixed with hip-hop. Basically anything to get all booties to the dancefloor. Only thing that was a little sketch was the roped off dancefloor with no-drink rule. Who does that? i guess Maui has it's rules and they must be obeyed. Anyhow, I highly recommend the pizzas and Saturday night with DJ Magnetic on the ones and twos. There was a guest DJ as well two of the nights we went there. I think his name was J Million from San Francisco, CA. Peace.

PURE AWESOME. Just got back from my first visit on 4/19/09. Been on the island 10 days. This was by far my favoirte place I've visted and I've been in 5-star joints down to 2-star joints the entire trip. This place would rank in the 2-3 star rating regarding locale, HOWEVER, if you rank places on pure awesomeness, like me, it's 6 stars. Great Hawaiian "joint". Lotsa locals. Lotsa tourists. Off the beaten path. Got there halfway through happy hour. Uncrowded. Great pours. Great loung singer. Clearly a native with a great voice belting out Hawaiian tunes and 70's favorites. He was awesome. Pizza was awesome. Drinks were awesome. Service was awesome and the joint was all charm. I can't say enough about the great feeling you'll have leaving this joint. MAHALO! I'm coming back to Maui 2/2010 and this will be a stop (at least twice!) Loved it!

Our snorkel captain accurately referred to the location of this place as in the "Bermuda Triangle of Drinking" in Kihei - surrounded by great places like the Dog & Duck (superb Irish pub) and the like (not to mention a bunch of little outdoor touristy sheds for trinkets). BUT, not only does the Tiki Lounge pour a mean Mai Tai, the food ROCKS! I was craving a fab burger and this delivered, and then some. Fries crisp and light - chili (on the side, to better assess the fries) awesome. Fresh fish tacos with coconut/almond fried rice were great too. Lovely servers, and reasonable prices (GREAT Happy Hour specials) - with live music! Love, love, love the lounge.

Pizza was sooooo good! Nice patio and decent live music, not the typical jack Johnson sounding crap. She played some yeah yeah yeahs. Out of the 3 nights of meals this was my favorite, pizza crust was perfect with some baked on parm yumm. They have decent happy hour drinks. From outside looks like a bar but has a really nice patio.

We really enjoyed this place and the whole Kalama Village. A must see for Maui visitors and a local hangout. We were on Maui a month and were searching for places to eat that were good and tasty and cheap. This place fit the bill. We ate here several times and our favorite was the Italian Sausage sandwich. There's a condiment cart so you can fix up your sandwiches or what-have-you however you like. Service was great, people were friendly, eat outside in the shade or inside.

Was hitting up the local bars for happy hour...went to lifes a beach prior to coming here. they had watered down drinks and bad music. stopped in here and LOVED the decor and the outdoor patio seating. The music was real good and the $4 margaritas during happy hour were PERFECT! tasted great, not watered down and came in cool little tiki glasses. At night they light a bunch of torches. It was a wonderful place and highly recommended!

Very enjoyable. Service was great and the food way better than expected. Not your average bar, cool porch. We ordered the nachos, Hawaiian sausage sandwich, and the pork sandwich. All were better than good. Highly recommended this place, though I have heard don't go too late in the evening if you want to avoid the drunks.

Headed to this place because Jon the security guard at the Maui Vista Condos said it was pretty good. It was a small place and we were two of seven people in the place. I'm very open minded and willing to give places a try so we sat and stayed for dinner. We had a good buzz going since we walked from our condo, so didn't order drinks but got a Dr. P and hot wings. The wings came fried with the hot sauce on the side. We weren't that impressed seeing as though we fell in love with the wings at Lulus the night before. But I'm pretty picky on my hot wings having growing up at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY....my standards are pretty high...I digress....we also order the Kihei Town Pizza and it was very good! Thin crust with parmesan cheese on the crust. The hubs isn't quite a fan of sun dried tomatoes, but me, I love them! We had left overs for the next days lunch so all in all a great experience with Tiki!

I really enjoyed this place a lot. There was a Hawaiian native singing live on the patio...wow he had such a great voice. We went for happy hour...I drank the $4.00 margaritas and my bf drank some Hawaii brewed beer. The ambience, service, entertainment and prices were killer. We enjoyed the music so much that my bf bought me a CD. Definitely a must if you are ever in Maui.

I stopped in for a quick bite at Tiki Lounge and was super impressed by their pizza! Awesome crust, quality cheese, and great tomato sauce. I was surprised with the variety of topping choices. The staff was very cool and the open air atmosphere was very inviting. I will definitely go back!

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!! My boy and I went here after being stuck in traffic for about four hours cuz someone decided to get in a car wreck between Lahaina and Kihei. By the time we got "home" I just wanted a beer and a lava flow!! We came to this place on a tuesday night at around 10 and by most people's standards this place might have been "boring" because there was only one other couple seated on the patio but it was just my style. I wasnt going to the bar to mingle with people or hit on anyone, so the DJ spinning to no one seemed a little depressing, but I enjoyed it!! Keep on keepin on..the drinks were good, the fries were great (what do they put on them??) and our waitress was cute. Also the atmosphere was awesome. I kept forgetting I was in Hawaii and felt like I was in adventureland at disneyland, then I remembered that the whole purpose of disneyland is to make you feel like you're some where you are not...duh!!! Then I'd remember I was in Hawaii and would get really excited...Loved the foliage and the tiki torches and the surf videos....tiki bars rule!!

My companion and I spent every night that we could get away from her parents at this place. The atmosphere is chill and very local. The pizza, while a little on the thin side (not really my thing being a born-and-raised Californian) was delicious nonetheless, and made with obvious care and quality ingredients. The fries were kickin' as well. The DJ sets were a'ight -- though one Jockey went out of his way to play us a special request, and that was totally rad -- but the night we saw live music was great. This place was our savior from a week of incredibly boring nights at the hotel; a great place to go and enjoy West Maui's sparse night-life.

Great pizza but they got rid of their kama'aina rate for locals so prices per specialty pie can be on the higher priced side. Try the Kihei Town or Hawaiian Sausage pies - yummy!

Great pizza, mellow place to hang out. Turns into more of a nightclub atmosphere after 10, so plan accordingly. Would be 4 stars except they just raised their beer prices to $5 a bottle. What is this, Wailea?

There's nothing more betta than lunch outdoors on Maui. During our recent Maui trip we had lunch here on one of their benches out on the deck. We order the pizza to share, which had a crispy thin crust (very yummy). It was interesting to see locals and nonlocals enjoying this sort of place.

In 10 days I probably drank 15-20 mai tai's all over the island( sounds lushy I know, but hey-I'm on vacation) and I have to say, non compared to the mai tai at the South Shore Tiki Lounge (okay, Mamma's Fish house was close-but overpriced) The Tiki Lounge makes em with a black strap molasses rum which adds a nice dark carmel flavor without being too sweet. The service was always amazing, Christina and Stacey were awesome to us every time we came in and the food was A-ok. Ill be dreaming of these mai tai's which were often complimented by Kanoa's killer voice and talent til the next time Im on Maui- check em out, you'll be glad you did.

This place truly rocks the island lifestyle vibe with its reggae music and Hawaiian island style menu. The pizzas here are especially delicious with fresh ingredients and the sandwiches and salads are also tasty. I love the outdoor seating with tiki style tables and fresh water sprinklers spritzing the garnish above the rooftop. The tiki bar of course offers authentic Hawaiian tropical drinks along with a full bar. This place often has reggae DJs, which of course is an extra bonus to eating lunch or dinner with a group of friends in the cool tropical breeze.

My wife and I came to this little mall area to get some drinks. The first bar we went into, NOT Tiki Lounge, was mediocre bordering on miserable. We walked out after 5 minutes of being ignored at the bar. We walked over the South Shore Tiki Lounge and spent the rest of our evening there. This place has the best bartender I've ever met - he's friendly, he gives recommendations on drinks and honest reviews of the liquor and beer he serves. There was an excellent playlist with lots of weird 90's stuff like "The Country Death Song" by the Violent Femmes. The atmosphere was relaxing. The place wasn't crowded. These are all qualities I like in a bar. This is my favorite bar in Maui!

Just got back from Maui. My boyfriend and I went ziplining, snorkeling, golfing, playing tennis, etc, etc and when the sun set, we craved a nice happening spot with good music and drinks to unwind to let our sunburns settle. We found the place adjacent to the Foodland supermarket before 6, and it's conveniently situated surrounding a other bars and pubs. We went in to find live music with a chill, loungy atmosphere during happy hour between 3-6. We wanted a local beer and couldn't decide, so the bartender gave us samples of all the ones on tap. The limited edition passion fruit wheat was the best. The $4 margarita was excellent, but I didn't like their mai tai. The second time we came here was around 10 P.M. We found a DJ, dancing, and a lot more people so we danced too. People were so nice, both staff and guests. Service was pretty good for a busy night. We had a couple of those tasty beers and will remember this place when we come back to Maui.

A good happy hour from 4-6 and a funny live guitar act on Tues, Thurs, and Sat (I think, we were there on Tues). They had a great fixins bar for the different sausages they serve, but we didn't try them (though they smelled great).

We had a great dining experience here on our visit. Good food and very good Mai Tai's. The glasses that the drinks come in are super cute! And they sell them as well. We did a check in on FB and a friend of mine texted her friend that worked there and surprised me by calling me by my name and asking me about my friend Rachael. We had a good time, but the rating of 5 is due to the service that we received. Sally was am awesome server, even before we realized we had mutual friends in common. I was even joking with her about stealing one of the cups (jokingly of course) thus finding out that they were for sale. Thanks for the good time!

certainly a locals place, but being carded after i walked by security, and i use that term loosely, then having nice, but so-so service (even allowing for island time service) it just wasnt that memorable. the drinks were good and strong and had a lot of different takes on old classics which is the only reason they get 3 stars. Local vibe is cool and all but the door guys need to go. Bad juju. Didn't have chow here, but it looked pretty good and lots of others were chowing down on pizza and the like.

This is our spot to hit after we go diving. I'm not sure what it is about diving but man after we get off the boat all we think about is food. They have great burgers here and nice friendly service people. The kids came along this last time and loved the single pizzas and we enjoyed the burgers. Good prices too for Maui. Nice drink menu to boot. Go and enjoy, happy hour sounds like a great time too but we haven't made it.

This place had a nice, mellow atmosphere. Came at happy hour, two guys played acoustic guitar and they were pretty good. Like everywhere else on Maui, they have happy hour drinks. We had margaritas on the rocks. For dinner I had the fish tacos, husband had a burger. My tacos were ok, nothing great. Same with the burger according to hubs. The selling point here is definitely the atmosphere- I'd recommend coming here for drinks and going somewhere else for dinner. Came here again a few nights later and had the pizza- Super yummy! It isn't cheap, but its good.

Stopped in for a drink at the start of happy hour (4-6pm). Great margaritas!! (part of happy hour special for $4) We sat at the bar inside but there is a great outside patio with live music daily. Didn't try the food but they've got a special discount for HI residents. Would definitely stop by again for the great drinks & service!

Let's be honest here: this is NOT a tiki bar (though there may be a tiki or two hidden amongst the Peer 1 decor)... this is a SPORTS bar that also features a dance floor that would barely rival any found at a high school dance. Overly loud, full of popped collars, and with food usually savored at Red Robin, do yourself a favor and ask the locals where they hang out (psst.... it's probably not here!).

Just visited the Tiki Lounge tonight and have been waiting for weeks to try their great food. It seems like such a nice place with great reviews, but turns out to be the worst service I have ever had. I was ignored for a long period of time and when I nicely try to get their attention, I get a reply in the nastiest way to "hold on!" Please get some new waiters because the ladies you have are garbage.

Finally, a restaurant in Kihei that I can give some props too! On the upside: * The lava flow was a sweet and tasty drink, garnished with pineapple. Yum! The drink was a bit pricey at a whopping $9, but I actually got it comped because a bee flew into it, and the owner said it was on the house even though I was almost done with it. Gee thanks! He even asked if I got "buzzed". Heh heh... * Molten lava cake is pretty good, not exceptional, but if you need a chocolate fix, it'll do * There's a full bar and some cozy indoor and outdoor seating On the downside: * The ceviche was mysteriously creamy. Kinda weird and unexpected. Could be the island's version

Great Hawaiian pizza, son loved chili cheese dog with side a side of jasmine rice (we are on the islands after all), and daughter finished her cheesesteak. We also had calamari with a delicious housemade tartar sauce and Caesar salad. And prices are reasonable. What gives this place four instead of five stars is their incredibly slow kitchen. The pizza came out long before the rest. Our attentive waitress kept saying it was coming soon. Luckily,, the Olympics were on the outdoor Telly to occupy the time. Besides that,we will be back for the nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, and tasty food. Good place to eat after a day playing in the Maui sun!

My friends and went here because we heard the pizza was good but were disappointed when we got there because the wait for pizza was 45 minutes. So we ordered other things off the menu and after an hour of waiting for our food we left. The waitress was not apologetic at all. Overall a bad experience.

I'm in love... with this place that is. They make the best Mai Tai EVER, that has a floater of Cruzon Black Strap Molasses Rum. Drool...drool...mmmmm good. Renny, the bartender was awesome! We spent many an hour there enjoying the ecclectic music and layed back atmosphere. And we dropped a fair amount of cash in the process, but we came back with a t-shirt, 2 tiki glasses, some good stories, and the Mai Tai recipe. (Shhhh. Don't tell.) I miss you South Shore TIki Lounge! I will be back some day.

Only went for drinks, but thats what they do best! Ambiance was so-so but I was delighted to get a REAL drink. I was beginning to think that there was an alcohol shortage on Maui... This was the first place I didn't have to stick with beer to get what I paid for.

Food was nothing special in taste but the service was nice. Fish tacos served bland, cold, not even warm and it had a hair in it. Needless to say it wasn't eaten. Burgers were good but nothing special. Pizza was thin crust and pretty tasty. I wouldn't go back. There are better places on the island.

Went here for their happy hour... Good price on alcohol, however no food on the happy hour menu. Tried their beach nachos-really good. Attentive servers, outdoor seating and great live music.

When the sun starts setting and the tikis are lite, this is a fun lil spot to drink and eat... errr moreso just drink. The food's OK, but nothing great to earn a 5 star. Everything is served on paper plate which for me has pros and cons. Pro= environmental friendly and serves its purpose. Con= cheap down the 'elegance" of the place and portion served for what you pay isn't satisfying. Regardless, I say it's a great place to hang out and drink, Oh and by the way, they have a daily event occurring every night so that's something to look forward to ;]

Drinks were average. Ambiance was great. Food was terrible. I had the cold cheese burger and cold fries. It was not busy at the time either. Microwaved my food to warm it up.

Oh boy, I wanted to like this place :(. The service was awesome, live music was great, atmosphere nice. Food totally bites. The black bean nachos had about ten beans on them, portions are small and the food is totally average. And what's with the paper plates? Environmentally not too cool. Go here for drinks NOT for food.

I didn't have a good experience at this restaurant. Being in Hawaii, I thought I would order a Miti. What I received was an awful drink that tasted like they had poured rotten molasses in it. When I mentioned that I didn't like the drink, the waitress told me that she was sorry but that she couldn't take it back. I have only had two or three drinks that I have ever had this reaction to. In all cases when I mentioned them, they were immediately swept away and some other concoction was presented to me that was drinkable. The food was OK. I had the calamari and pizza. It wasn't bad, but not as good as most places I eat at in the bay area. I made the mistake of trying to drink the Miti. I like molasses, I love molasses cookies, but every time I think of that Miti (even after one week) I can't get the awful taste out of my mouth, or the fact that South Shore Tiki Lounge is the only restaurant I have been to that was too cheap to replace my drink.

Is it just me, or does it seem redundant to have a tiki lounge in Hawaii? I mean...isn't the whole point of having a tiki lounge to remind you of Hawaii, so if you're already in Hawaii...(tapping my forehead sarcastically) Ah well, it's a good thing that the place is so friendly with a covered patio in back serving as their main dining area. It's really just a bunch of picnic tables and benches surrounding a big condiment stand and a couple of naked microphones toward the side. I had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich that was oozing with cheese. I slathered a pile of tomatoes and Maui onions on top and even some black olives. A relative bargain at $9.00 including a pile of fries, it was like a salsa-accented pizza that Rocky Balboa would have ordered. Yo Adrian. The place has a definite party vibe, and the suntanned locals seem to converge here pretty easily. They just happen to be offering a September special where you order one entree at full price and get the second for half-off. A good deal to lure the thriftier tourists among us. The music starts up at 4PM - a pair of guitar-plucking guys covering Neil Young. OK...time to go. FOOD - 4 stars...a solid sandwich and oh those condiments AMBIENCE - 3.5 stars...totally casual with a beachcomber vibe SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty darn quick for a tiki lounge TOTAL - 4 stars...worth seeking out since it's hidden behind a couple of bars on a parking lot

Check it out. We stopped in for mai tais and beer only. Cute place opposite a strip mall and Foodland. The mai tais were good, the Hawaiian Christmas music was fun, and our bartender was charming. So what we dropped $40 on 2 rounds.

Awesome vegetarian hot dog with vegetarian chili and cheese! Topped with all the fixings from their condiments bar... olives, pickled onions, relish, jalepenos, and the usual yet so good ketchup and dijon mustard! Add vegetarian chili cheese fries... Wow! Plus service with a smile! Aloha.

I love Tikis!! Food, drinks, live music and vibes are great. The owners support and give back to the community by hosting fundraisers for local charities, and showcasing the work of Maui-based artists with fun & original theme parties. Recommended for a mellow dinner out with friends (go on the early side) or a wild night of drinking & dancing (later) - or why not both?!?

so close to five stars! we were looking for a nice spot to grab a drink before a late dinner in kihei and popped into the tiki lounge. a whiskey-soda and a beer. the drink, was nice and strong and the server perfectly attentive. we headed back two nights later for a late night snack before heading home and were pleasantly surprised by the food. we had cheese fries and a veg pizza. the food order didn't get put in the first time around (whoops!), but we were happy with our drinks (good ones!) and company. the server was awesome (apologetic for the food mix up) and atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

This is the closest Maui has to a tiki bar. Yep, it's called a "tiki lounge," but to anyone that's been to a real tiki bar, SSTL is kind of a stretch; lauhala walls and a mai tai do not a tiki bar make. That said, they have great kamaaina specials, they can pour a decent drink, and the live music is good, too.

I get a mix feeling about this one. We came here twice. Now, our servers are nice, but the staff has a bit of an attitude. The outside patio is so cute. The whole feel to this place is a jungle theme with lots of decor. The music that they play is upbeat, and yes it gets louder at 10p.m. it starts to become like a club feel. They play mash ups of Hip hop and house. Not bad. The personal pizzas are yum $8. I'd have to say my favorite was the BBQ. I recall us leaving to a nearby bar and having to come back here, since my buddy was hungry. So when we got there the bouncer had an issue with one of our GF's ID. I know we look young, so having to check our I.D. for more than 5 minutes I understand, but after that whole commotion he finally let us in and we wanted to go outside to check out the dance floor, and low and behold we were approach by another bouncer again!! And you guessed it he wanted to check our I.D. AGAIN! We jokingly told him yeah we look pretty young, but that wasn't enough for him, he took all of our I.D. and examined it for a long time, which agitated us. So I asked him what was the problem, he replied, " Nothing, it's just the bouncer at the front ask me to recheck your I.D.'s, but I don't see anything wrong with it." Wow!!!!! Don't they feel like a DUMB ASS?? Are you serious? Are we that desperate to come into your bar? Whoa Never again guys! I think that is really bad CUSTOMER SERVICE! Like, trust me I know they are doing their jobs, but if you checked us in the front and made a whole deal about it, then why would there have to be a second time time? I guess what killed it was the second bouncer telling us as to why he had to check us again. If he didn't tell me that the bouncer up front told him to recheck us, then I would have been chill about it, but since I know now, I will not be coming here again. I still like your pizzas though. haha

This place was cool although we didn't eat. The music would go from Tribe Called Quest to Queen to Butthole Surfers. It was good to hear something besides Ukulele crap. They were playing a surf video on a big screen, the staff was cool, al-in-all there was a very chilax vibe here. Next time I'll try the pizza. Auf.

Awesome Pizza, very friendly and helpful staff. The Mai Tais come in these sweet ass Tiki glasses that you can purchase to bring home, I ended up bringing 4 home for souvenir's. The drinks are strong and the patio is really cool. This was probably my favorite place to tie one on at the end of the evening while in Maui, definitely a must try!

Best, coolest Tiki bar in Maui. That's right, on the whole island. The crowd here is a mix of locals and fairly hip tourists, very laid back atmosphere with a great selection of music. The food is about as good as you're going to find in a bar. Really very good. But the reason one goes to a Tiki bar is really the drinks, isn't it? Do yourself a favor, order the Mai Tai. I know everyone's already had a Mai Tai before, time for something different, right? Wrong. You have not had a Mai Tai until you've had one here. The molasses rum really puts it over the top. Big thumbs up to the bartender Renny. One of the best bartenders I've ever really dealt with, and knows his business. I can't wait to go back.

If you're looking for a fun, quick meal, or drinks with friends, Tiki Lounge might be what you're after. Happy hour drinks were $4, but expect to pay double that for the more exotic fare. Food was over priced, but decent sized portions and tasted pretty good. The pizza's are horribly expensive, so go with the better budget option of "build your own slice". They are pretty big and make for a filling meal if you get two slices. The chicken sandwich with sauteed mushrooms was tasty, but overpriced for what it was. Fun atmosphere, and they are in the process of putting in an oxygen bar.

My family and I went for dinner. I use to live on Maui, loved the drinks and live music. NO MORE! We waited forever, due to a waitress giving our table to another party, who arrived after us?!?! (we should have left then) A hour and 15 min later we got our food- kids pizza, house salad and fries. We had to take it to go because my little one was loosing it, extremely tired and hungry. HORRIBLE service!! Not worth the drinks and live music.

This place has slipped in the last year. Margaritas are mostly cheap tequila and ice. They used to have Suaza Hornitos at happy hour. Thye no longe have homemade sausage. The pizza is still pretty good. Service not very friendly.

We came during Happy Hour and oh, what a happy hour it was, mixed with live music and one of their famous margaritas. We read about their home made sausages and couldn't pass it up. We each ordered the Hawaiian, a.k.a. the spicy Portuguese Linguica. What a fresh condiment bar! They had some interesting toppings including shredded cheddar cheese, a Maui onion relish, and sliced black olives, which I both love so I had to layer it on! Prices were reasonable and service was friendly, albeit slow when it came to the check, but hey, she was the only waitress serving the whole patio. When the live music was over, one of the musicians even came out and said hi and thanked us for coming out to see them. Good stuff. Just ono.

The South Shore Tiki Lounge is easy to drive by if you're not watching the street addresses. It is on South Kihei Road, just past Foodland if you're heading south. It has an indoor bar/eating area and a bamboo walled and covered eating area outdoors. They have a decent American food menu. Some hand made sausage sandwiches are a highlight. I had the hot italian ($7) with grilled peppers and onions (extra $1). My friend had a Philly CHeese Steak with fries ($9) that looked very good - lotsa melted cheese on the steak meat. To flavor up your sandwich, there is a fixins' bar with the usual ketchup, mustard, dijon mustard, onions, jalapenos ... but there are also black olives (yum) and a concoction called Maui Onions (tomatoes and onions) among some other choices. Pizza, salads, and some other good sounding foods are on the menu. The service is fairly prompt for Maui. Watch for their specials - we happened to get the second entree for half off (a nice surprise). They have live music from 4pm -6pm - don't get your expectations up too high. Sirius satellite Alt Nation radio was playing through the speakers. Definitely not a Bill Knapps type bar/restaurant. Enjoy it!

I came here with some of the guys that I had met while visiting. We had a great time people watching and doing some dancing. I highly recommend it when you visit. Great atmosphere...a bit rough around the edges though, so, if you don't like a roudy drunk crowd, don't go there after 10pm!

  • Heather R.

We love to have a drink (or two or three) on the outside deck at the South Shore Tiki Lounge after a long hard day at the beach. The Mai-Tai's at happy hour will rock you, and if they have live music it will usually rock you too. The best is when the local drunk gets up and starts to sing and dance with the band...that my friends, is true entertainment! The pizza is always d'lish with fresh toppings, though it can be expensive, but it's Maui, everything is expensive here! We like to start off with chili cheese fries then move onto the pizza. At Tiki Lounge they always have a cool surf flick on the big screen which keeps your mind busy while getting buzzed and patiently waiting for your pizza. The servers are great and have always been friendly & without an attitude.

  • Sunni A.

  • Loren B.

Best piña colada we've had yet on Maui-they use local pineapple and the tiki mugs they serve them in are SO. AWESOME. Service is friendly & welcoming.

Good food (though a bit understaffed) on Super Bowl Sunday. The four of us will be back for the food.

Burgers were dry, fries were so so. Venue was cool looking though and service was great. Drinks were strong. They have live music everyday which is cool.

Good atmosphere, good service, great food, good prices. I really like this place and come here often for happy hour. They lose a star because we find the drinks to be cheap but very weak. The margaritas are like all sour mix and barely any tequila. Other than that, great place.

Nothing special. Got blown off by the bartender and had to wait 15 minutes to get drinks from a waitress. Drinks were nothing special either. Overpriced and under-liquored. Had to wait another 15 minutes after finishing our drinks to get our tab. Don't waste your time.

  • Michael B.

Excellent food! Beet caprise salad and T-Bone sliders, fresh Ono, all good. Happy hour starts 11am. Yummy!

The best drinks and food in the area and they have live entertainment. The service is great too

Great location very hawaiiany! Loved the drinks. Has dancing but we were there too early for that. Will for sure be coming back

  • Annahita F.

Bad service. Food mediocre. Server was very rude and never around. We went with friends and were extremely upset when we left. My wife had the Mediterranean salad (full size). It was blah and was on a small 9" paper Chinet plate. I had the tropical tacos. They were bland. Not worth the $30 we paid.

the live music everyday is a great thing. the margarita i order was great as well, however the customer service and food..... sheesh! i walk in and NCAA mens basketball is on the television so i talk w/ whoever is watching it about who has played so far, little to i know that is the waiter i sit down with my girlfriend and he walks around us and doesn't even acknowledge that we are there. so then we go and sit at the bar hoping to be served or even get a hello. the bartender just yells from behind the bar to where we were sitting. i ask about happy hour menu he says no there isn't one. i go back to my first sitting area and grab the happy hour menu on the table..

  • Michelle-Joyce N.

  • Jen H.

The best Mai Tai we have had yet on Maui. Calamari was also really good. Great happy hour two thumbs up.

  • Andrea H.

We had a really large group which helped us all have a good time, but as it got later, the crowd got rowdier and drunker which signaled that it was time to say nighty night.

certainly a locals place, but being carded after i walked by security, and i use that term loosely, then having nice, but so-so service (even allowing for island time service) it just wasnt that memorable. the drinks were good and strong and had a lot of different takes on old classics which is the only reason they get 3 stars.

Awesome staff, and the owners pretty Hot too ;) Try one of their delicious pizzas my personal fav has to be 1/2 hawaiian and 1/2 margherita!!!
