Great place to stay on Maui. Very quiet, clean and a short distance from beaches, restaurants, etc. Absolutely beautiful pool and grounds. Great place for couples wanting some privacy and away from the resort scene.
We wanted to get away from the one-size-fits-all, busy, noisy, predictable experience at the hotel chains on the beach...so we chose Pineapple Inn. This place is fabulous. Not on the beach but didn't mind at all since its like a little oasis from the touristy annoyances like screaming kids on water slides. Pristine landscaping with heavenly garden and beautiful pool. Comfy, clean and quiet rooms. In fact, the whole property is so quiet its like you have the whole place to yourself. Owners are so great. Nice and extremely helpful hosts. Attentive but not bugging you. Just the perfect degree of service. Had a great stay and slept soundly every night. And they have an awesome, sweet little dog named Indy who loves belly rubs. Missed our own dogs and got our doggie love fix! Highly recommend.
I am not going to lie I was initially a little apprehensive about a B and B in Maui, I am a bit of a hotel snob and was already planning to do our pool days at a resort. However, we wanted something different for the remainder of our trip that was a bit more local. This was it!!! This place is absolutely amazing!! Mark and Steve the owners do an amazing job with the place. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms clean, the beds comfortable. We stayed upstairs and had an absolutely stunning ocean view. The rooms have a kitchenette that they stock with breakfast and goodies. When we would run into Mark and Steve they would stop to chat see how our stay is going and give us local advice, best places to eat or snorkel. Overall an amazing experience if you are looking for something a little different in Maui stay here you will not be dissapointed.

We stayed here in July of 2013 in the pineapple room. We enjoyed it very much. The room had big wall to wall windows with a view of beautiful tropical gardens. We also felt that we had more privacy because we were at the edge of the courtyard. Eva was an amazing host. She provided free sunscreen, bug repellent, and beach chairs, which saved us quite some money. There were also clean towels and laundry machine, which was very convenient. She also told us about not wearing nice shoes during one of our hikes so we bought some walmart shows bec the dirt would be too hard to get off our shoes. She also gave us great advice on where to go to snorkle, hike, or which cruise to take. We enjoyed hanging out with her in the morning, drinking our coffee, and sharing stories. I would definitely stay here again if I every come back to Maui.
This place i have to come back. It made me want to go back to Kihei so much as we had the best memory in kihei by living in this house, which is so clean. the housekeeper Eva is very friendly and welcoming. i enjoy talking to her. my parents love papaya suite, which is so beautiful inside, very comfortable and spacious. i love how the TV was hung and the kitchen table is very practical. everything is perfect at this Wonderful World B&B.
Absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast! Though my husband and I only stayed here for one night we loved it. Eva made an amazing breakfast and sat with us and made us feel like we were right at home and had been friends for years. We loved her three Cavaliers and now want one of our own. There are always beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, blankets to take to Haleakala to watch the sunrise. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We loved it and would definitely go back!

Delicious food. Great value. And the people are sooo nice. They gave us a bunch of other food recommendations, including favorite happy hour spots and that it was even restaurant week!
We came here after our surfing lesson. One of the guys at the surf place was munching and said this is where he got it. So we walked on over! It's dive. About as un-fancy as you can get. The two people there are undoubtedly the owners. They have three or four tables. The selection is very limited. And it is this limited selection that prevents me from giving five stars. Because what they did have was really good, and it was not particularly expensive. Shoyu chicken, a curry chicken, and a couple of other things I don't remember. That's their menu. We had both the shoyu and the curry, and they were both very good. Get the lunch plate, it's a better deal. I would have gotten ice cream (which apparently is home-made on the island) but they didn't have the flavor I wanted. Oh well...maybe next time. I't's not really well marked, but just walk under the covered sidewalk until you're almost in the corner and there it is.
This is home cooking! Straight up, nothing fancy, just tasty food cooked from scratch for a great price. Try the chicken pumpkin curry over rice, it's to die for. I also got a super yummy salad topped with loads of beautiful avocado, mangos, and a homemade lilikoi vinaigrette. When they have fish it is super fresh. Their hibiscus lilikoi tea is a fave. And the staff couldn't be friendlier. Mostly a breakfast and lunch joint, but on friday nights they stay open for dinner and then host a ukulele jam session, so if you're a player, it's good fun.

This was a fantastic dining experience, with delicious and fresh food, attentive staff, and a relaxing, vacation-friendly atmosphere. When we called for the reservation we were told that it was BYOB - it's a $10 corkage fee per check, so if you're under one bill, bring a bottle of wine, and you've got yourself a bargain. Also, because we were late making our reservation, we ended up having to go earlier for a reservation at 5:00pm, which ended up being fantastic for us - apparently going between 4-6pm grants you an earlybird discount of some kind! So if you're up for an early dinner, I recommend it to save yourself a few dollars. It's a small restaurant with attentive staff, but it gets busy fast - I believe that they only take reservations (no walk-ins!). Our waiter, Nick, led us to our table, and explained their menu. If you're interested in fresh fish, you can choose one of four styles to cook it. Nick (and most of the staff as far as I could see!) was very attentive and knowledgeable - funny, but not overbearing. Their menu is very readable, and there's plenty of selection if you're not interested in seafood. (Though I can't speak to the quality of their non-seafood dishes!). We were a party of four, and some of us asked to have certain dishes (salads/entrees) split in half - I appreciated that they set up the presentation for both halves in an appetizing way. The macademia nut salad (I believe it was called their house salad, but I'm not sure), was fresh and the dressing was not overpowering. The spicy tuna nachos were absolutely delicious - lived up to the hype, for sure. The fresh fish dishes that were ordered were well prepared. My brother ordered the shrimp scampi - and I've never seen him finish a plate that quickly. We also had dessert - ordering one of each of the desserts offered: a lemon cheesecake, and ice cream with fresh fruit. The lemon cheesecake was crumbly, light, and refreshing. For the ice cream, we were allowed to have two of three flavours - chocolate, coconut, and vanilla. The vanilla had chunks of vanilla bean in the ice cream, which was a really wonderful surprise, and the coconut was sweet and bitter. We're a family with varied tastes, and it's hard to find something that makes us all happy, but Cuatro certainly did. Definitely a place to hit up if you're on the island.
Without a doubt this was the best dining experience of my life. The surprise is this restaurant is tucked into the corner of a strip mall in Kihei. George, the waiter, described each ingredient with flare and true pinash . Joss, the chef, cooked everything with attention to our preferences( mild or spicy), and presented each dish in a visually pleasing way. The vibe is casual and friendly. You will leave here planning your return.
As far as decent restaurants go this was one of the worst steaks I've ever had. This was our first day in Maui and this place had good reviews but I wouldn't recommend it. Normally I wouldn't say anything so negative but my steak was not good. It is supposed to have Asian spices and sauce but it was just covered in tons of black pepper. It was not what I would expect at an Asian fusion restaurant. My son ordered the adult menu Blackened tuna which was pretty good. The kids menu fish is cheaper but it only comes with swordfish and no choice of preparation like the adult menu fish so he opted for the adult menu. It was hotter (spicier) than I would normally expect and my son (7 years) coughed at first and he is used to hot foods. The other bummer is that they told us kids get free ice cream but that ended up only being with the kids menu. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi which she liked. I will say that the staff was very nice and attentive.

To get to this restaurant you go down an industrial road passing several storage and junk yard. Walk through doors and you are transformed into another world. The dining area is an open room with larges windows looking out to beautiful tropical plants. The menu has breakfast and French sandwitches. I had the ham and vegitable soup with a beef Boguingon sandwitch. Service was attentive and the owner makes a strong effort to greet customers at the door. With Fabiani's and Eskimo candy around the corner, this is another great use of this area in Kihei.
I wish there were more places in the world like this. My girlfriend and I sat and enjoyed a great meal while the slight breeze blew through the open windows. This place is all about the details from the way they prepare the food to the nice little dish they bring the bill in. So where do I start? The service was great. She was pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. The food didnt take long at all and my coffee was warmed up with my meal. As for our food? The eggs were fluffy and the chorizo in my omelette was excellent. My girlfriend enjoyed pears, candied walnuts, brie and garlic aioli on a fresh baguette. Can you say delicious? I can, because I took a couple bites of her sandwich. I know it's small but the music they played was very fitting for the atmosphere. They must have had it on Jem Pandora and that definitely added to the atmosphere. 5 stars for this hidden gem.
Really GREAT place to have breakfast. We had the spinach & tomato Eggs Benedict. Excellent service, nicely decorated. Definitely would recommend this little place off the beaten path. Great prices for quality food.

It is great to find a healthy place in the Islands and Joy's offers really good food (and good deserts)! If you are looking for some good healthy food in Maui, check out Joy's!
Joy's place is wonderful. If you don't think you like vegetarian food, or just want to experience some of the best that vegetarian food has to offer, visit Joy's. I had the Live Burrito Supreme, and it was scrumptious. Their excellent cashew cream added some creamy, fatty goodness (without much in the way of calories) to this crispy, fresh wrap. I wish I could find something like this at home. Their fresh smoothies are beautiful, and they have a variety of options for all tastes. Be prepared to walk with your food, or wait a bit for a seat. It's teeny tiny - but well worth any kind of wait. Be advised that because everything is fresh, they can be fresh out of some items later in the day. So arrive early!
Excellent food. Very friendly with an interest in how the food was, how I located them. Would go back.

Stumble upon this little cafe for a late lunch. Ordered a tuba melt panini and a turkey cranberry panini. Both are excellent panini, the bread was grilled to perfect crispiness and the flavor was just right for a sandwiches. Recommend for good panini with affordable right beside the beach. BTW, stuff is super friendly here.
Oh, Charley Young bagel from La Plage, I love you! I've been coming here since I started visiting Maui. Lovely, polite service with a charming French accent! Great bagels, and fair prices for the neighborhood...heck...the island. My favorite grab and go breakfast!
Went to this spot for breakfast - breakfast bagels and coffee, nothing fancy. It's trending at 4.5 stars so expectations were.. Well 4.5 Yelp stars (whatever that means). The good: - friendly service early in the morning - quite a nice comfortable space (including a sofa) - laid back and chill the rest.. Nothing 'horrendously bad' as such.. But I'm flummoxed at a 4.5 star rating. What we got was a supermarket bagel (half toasted), some so-so egg (possibly real), slice of cheese, some semi ripe tomato (ok, imported, I get it we are in Hawaii) and a piece of lettuce (incidentally the upgrade to lettuce and tomato seemed to be $1.50 on the basic bagel.. My bad for choosing it I guess). Coffee - not good. Which returns me to 4.5 stars. Is this almost the best that could possibly be on offer? Serious question.. I haven't been to the other options nearby so it could be stellar in comparison. I'm giving 3 stars. But that includes a bonus for some nice AC.
