Lousy steaks. Service slow. Why did I come here?? I am so disappointed that I don't even want to go into details. Manager did the right thing and removed the steak from our bill.

At first when we walked into the restaurant it was the usual Outback Steakhouse, then the waiter took our order when we decided on what we were gong to eat. Once they brought the food it looked great, but then we started eating it the calamari was way over cooked and it was too chewy a wolf couldn't chew through it. Then I tasted the seared ahi tuna it was completely burnt on the sides which was really unpleasant to eat. Then they brought my steakhouse salad the meat was incredibly chewy too even though I orders it rare. So if you want to numb your jaw out from all the chewing then this is the place for you.

We had a horrible experience there. Walked in around lunch time and was rudely seated by the hostess in the bar area. A server came by and got our drink order. We were ready to order our food, and she said she would be back in one minute. She proceeded to check in on every other table and to casually walk by us each time. We signaled to her several times that we were ready to order but she ignored us. After 15 minutes of waiting, we got up and left! Not sure if the food is any good, but definitely don't go here for the service. We went next door to Ruby Tuesday and the food and service were wonderful!!!

Everytime I come here the food is always consistent. The service is always great. Today we took two kids and they had a blast. Our server was most accommodating and super friendly. My other half ordered the half rack of ribs and I the six ounce sirloin. My son had the cheeseburger with fresh fruit and my niece had the mac and cheese with fries. I ordered my steak to be cooked at a medium rare and it came out perfectly done. Reddish/pink inside. Seasoning was perfect! The loaded potato fine. Cheese blend, grn onion, bacon bits. The rack of ribs was on the dry side. The sauce was sweet and sticky. Needless to say, it did not deter him from finishing it all. The kids devoured their food. The fresh fruit consisted of green apples and approx 6 grapes. Our server was great. She checked on us when needed and made sure the kids ate first...so we could watch football (for a lil while, in peace).

To be honest, we went here because we've had a string of dinners at Thai and fish places and have had some tummy issues. It was time for a dinner with identifiable elements. I didn't have high expectations, but out of the list of places with "steak" for Maui Outback looked the most straightforward. We went in on a Sunday and caught the Sun night specials. I had a 6 oz small steak, salad, side and dessert for $17.95. That seemed reasonable. The service was good: OK I got vinegar and oil dressing instead of balsemic, but it was "on the side" as I'd requested so it wasn't a fatal flaw. The best thing, that sets this site apart from the one go to at home, which I have slammed on this site before, is that they do medium-rare correctly! An Outback steak should not be overcooked, and their medium-rare was perfect. If you get tired of fish you've never heard of before, sushi, or other unknown fare, give Outback on Maui is the place for you.

Yum really has good food here and their Lava Flows are really good too! Worth stopping at for dinner. We left so full and happy!

Looks like greed has prevailed at Outback. What was once the best Happy Hour of all, has become typically boring and mundane. Gone are the delicious half off specials - my favorite Wings, Seared Ahi, Bloomin' Onion, and Calamari, all axed in favor of a "Sips and Snacks" menu which consists of 3 styles of chips and dip. Yay. And the beer special is gone too. That's just mean. Also, the No Rules Parmesan Pasta no longer comes with scallops. SMH. Gimme back a star!

I know this is just another chain restaurant but the food was great and we had a really good experience. We tried the restaurant on a weekday and got a table right away, no waiting. We started with their bread and butter. They have a nice wheat loaf of bread. Very tasty. I had the filet minion as my entrée with green beans and broccoli instead of potato. I also had a salad with honey mustard as they were out of the vinaigrette I wanted. The steak was nicely cooked - flavorful and tender. Almost could cut it with a fork. My mom had the 1/2 rack of ribs. The meat was tender, falling over the bone. Good fries with it. Our waitress seemed new as she did not know if they served hot tea. She figured it out and was very helpful and talkative. Good waitress who gave us good service. Definitely will be back even though it is a chain restaurant.

Went here the other night to try this place again. Asked to sit in the bar area and the hostess said sure go right ahead :0) thank you very much. There was one booth avaliable so we took that one. Waited a few minutes before our waitress came to us she took our drink orders and brought them back within the next 10 minutes. Took our dinner orders and we ordered soup and salad and a lobster and shrimp appetizer when we were finished with our soup and our steak came out I then told the manager ( he brought out the food)we didn't receive our appetizer he said ok it should be right out. I ordered my steak medium well it came out very rare so when we cut it in half the waitress then noticed it wasn't cooked well she then took it back to cook it more . our appetizer came out and they took it off of the bill which was nice. The waitress was very nice and apologetic for forgetting the appetizer. Not sure if I week be back soon. . I just love the baked potato soup.

We eat here often sometimes 2x's a week and the service has just gone down majorly! This will be the last of eating there. Tonight I ordered mango iced tea with extra pumps- It came as light as I had even seen it. Our cheese fries were more like burnt sticks with burnt cheese and the bread seemed old and really hard considering we were like the 5th party in the entire restaurant @ opening... this was EXTREMELY BAD for just a little more you could eat at Ruth's Chris for quality food, friendly service and overall BETTER experience. When the waiter asked about the fries he laughed at it and never said more except when Giving the check they did take the one thing off but it's the point that they don't care...it seemed like CHARLEY was always starring at me and having so much attitude.

I'm not gonna lie.. we didn't go in with the highest expectations and the last time I remember eating at outback was in high school a good 15 years ago. My husband is an Aussie so I had to take him ;) Okay, I'm a bit sad the Australian beer they offer is Fosters. After living in Australia nearly a decade I can safely say you will never come across a Fosters unless you dig in to the deepest darkest shelf at the bottle shop :) The service was prompt and friendly and when we walked in it was super busy which is always a good sign! We were seated immediately by the window in a big comfy booth, yay! The burgers were amazing... seriously the best hamburger I've had in a really long time. At the end of dinner we sort of looked at each other like, did that really just happen? Could it just have been the most delicious hamburger and date night ever!?

RE-DEMP-TION!!! 4 1/2 stars!!! Valentine's lunch for my darling...WITH A COUPON! Surprised her by taking her there so she could enjoy her favorite meal -- Steak and lobster. Found an online coupon for 15 percent off the entire bill, which they graciously accepted! Every little bit helps, right?! Johnathan was our server this time, and this guy was ON IT! Excellent service from the beginning to the end! He made it a point to have our water cups filled up and serve us hot food! Started with the chicken wings, which were stupendous! Then, Johnathan brought our salad, which came out shortly after, and very tasty. On to the main course...Steak tacos, which came highly recommended and the Steak and lobster dish! Came out in a reasonable time, and still hot! Kudos to everyone for not keeping our food under the warmer and delivering it cold! Mmmmm! (Need a cigarette...THAT GOOD!) The steak tacos were extremely tasty and the pico de gallo on it took it over the top! The flour tortilla was crispy but not fried, which made me want to imitate it at home -- to no avail!!! 3 tacos and fries on the side made for a really good meal, and very affordable! I think these bug-ghers (Aussie accent) went for $11.99 or something very close to that low, low price! The steak and lobster was also very good (at least the steak part) which was perfectly seasoned and wood grilled. Super tender, like my heart. This meal went for $39.99, but just seeing the look on her face was good enough for me! All in all, a very awesome Valentine experience with the love of my life -- steak tacos! Heh, heh, just kidding!

I wish I could give a better rating. We went to this Outback with hopes of getting some familiar food being as we were here visiting from CA. The food was absolutely amazing. It really tasted good. The problem however was it took us about an hour to finally get the main course. There were only the two of us in our party. A table of three that came in just about when we were done with our appetizer had all of their plates of food long before we received ours. In fact it wasn't until we asked the waitress where our food was at that she went to check. She brought us the food quickly after that with no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. No apology came with our check nor even a thank you for coming in with our check. There were also some cleanliness issues where our waitress who was bringing us our food was previously on the floor with her hands sweeping under the tables and benches in her section. It appears they do not have seperate staff to bust the tables. Needless to say my wife and I were keeping an eye as to where she put her hands on our plates. In the end it really is just a few tweaks these guys need to make to really provide a 5 star experience. We might have just been there on an off night being as the manager had to get involved with 2 other tables around us. I thought about saying something myself to the manager about the time and cleanliness but by the time we got the check to get out of there, a quick dinner turned out to be an hour and a half experience. We just wanted to get out of there.

Since it was my daughters birthday and she wanted steak. I figured we go to Outback for a great birthday dinner. Well we ordered some appetizers. Crispy calamari came out cold and tasteless. I'm not a person to send food back but it wasn't good at all. My daughter ate the kids steak plate which was tough but she ate it all. My other daughter ate the chicken strips with fries. The fries was way to spicy for a kid to eat and the oil they fried the chicken it was burnt or old! My prime rib was great. The service was good to. That's way I gave it 3 stars. That's about it.

Used to come all the time for happy hour. Found out today that the new proprietor did away with 1/2 off appetizers. Oh well, we will no longer be coming. The appetizers are not worth it full price. Walked in and went straight to the bar area bc there was no host/hostess. Once seated, waited 10 mins for our waiter to come. We asked if it was still happy hour and if the same appetizers were 1/2 off. He looked confused, but told us yes! Because of the confused look, we asked another waitress walking by. She confirmed that it was all full price. By that point, we already placed an order for all kinds of appetizers. So disappointing!!! We saw our waiter 2x. Once to take the order and another to collect our money. He was not friendly and definitely not attentive. There are other places to eat. Goodbye, Outback....and good luck to you, Tim!

This is my second time coming to this steak house. My first time was okay but the service was great! This time was even better. Our server was super busy but never let us down. We always had fresh drinks and a clean table. The food was yummy too. I will be back!

I wish there were a negative amount of stars I could give to this poor excuse of an "Outback Steakhouse." My fiancè and I went for dinner and from the moment we walked in the door the service had been bad. The host didn't even look at us or talk to us. She picked up menus, started walking, and just grumbled "this way." After being seated, we waited around 10 minutes for our waitress. She instantly offered us milkshakes or a Dr. Pepper, meanwhile I was holding the drink menu ready to order alcohol and an appetizer. When I ask for a drink and show her my ID, she looked very confused and just stated "I really didn't think you guys were of age." My fiancè is thirty with a beard and greying hair, while I am in my twenties with knockers the size of Texas. We most definitely didn't appreciate being treated like teens on an awkward first date. 20 minutes go by and we finally receive the complimentary bread and his soda while I'm still waiting on my drink and the appetizer. We go ahead and place our orders at this point. 10 more minutes go by and my drink and the appetizer finally arrive. Half of the appetizer is missing (guessing someone got hungry) and my drink is quite small and weak despite being charged $7 for a simple sangria. Roughly 20 minutes go by and our food finally arrives. Not only am I missing a main side and a small handful of fries were just thrown into the plate, but my steak (which is smaller than the palm of my hand) is cold to the touch! My fiancè's steak is warm, but definitely not "fire grilled." The manager, Tim, comes by to ask how dinner is. We both just nod saying it's good. We are not ones to complain about food and didn't want to deal with the situation, so we just stayed quiet. Tim looked like he just came from a month-long walkabout- all sweaty and dirty. If you're a manager, you should be looking clean and professional, especially if you are going to be visiting tables! We finish up dinner (which only took us around 10 minutes) and immediately ask for the check since there's a ColdStone across the street and a liquor store a mile away (gonna need a drink after this night). It took our waitress 20 minutes to bring the check. It was as if her walking pace was going back in time. Eventually she waddled over to our table and we just put in a credit card. 10 more minutes go by and she waddles back over and takes care of it. And no, we did not leave a tip. It was already painful for the fact that we had to pay $70 for this joke of a dinner. Avoid going here unless you'd like to be seated by an angry lesbian, have a waitress so slow that she travels back in time, and be served over priced food that is cold as your ex-girlfriend's heart.

Misty was our server & she was great!! She was very welcoming, friendly & always had a smile on her face! We started with the bread & butter, which is always so simple but so delicious! We also ordered the fried calamari for starters... Crispy & not chewy is how I like it. It went well with their marinara sauce that was tangy which also had a little bite to it. Toowamba pasta was what I ordered, & although it seemed like the order became smaller, it was still very tasty and delicious! Crawfish, mushrooms and shrimp was mixed in with fettuccine noodles covered in their creamy sauce that had a little kick with the pepper flakes. My bf ordered their moonshine Bbq ribs, steak & bacon wrapped shrimp. For that combo, it was pretty cheap & he enjoyed it! This was the second time we ate at this location, in Kihei. We had a great time & we sure will be back again.

The food was great but our waiter Marcus S. Was (very Thankful) that we checked our bill and caught his charge of $14.50 for (4) waters for our table, we had 4 wines to go with the expensive water too...so we did have drinks CHECK YOUR BILL very closely or they (HE) will stick it to you........WOW

I visited this restaurant on a Thursday night. The service was amazing, our waitress Cierra was awesome! She gave us everything we asked for and more, checked on us at great times, refilled our drinks without is asking, and even had a little bit of conversation going on! The food was great and vibes were good!!

Sometimes, after you've been going to all the fancy restaurants all week - you get tired of paying $40/plate for meals - and all the seafood starts to become too much. If you are a fan of outback back on the mainland - it's 95% the same thing at this location. Predictable quality on their steaks and generally all their food - plus you can get an 8 oz sirloin for $20. If you are feeling something just kind of "regular" after eating all the seafood and fancy restraunts you can take by the end of the week, stop over here and get a good quality meal and leave with a smile after you pay the bill.

Went in for lunch the other day with a couple of friends. Johnathan was our waiter and was great. He helped us with our menu selections, suggesting items, and drinks. Was very helpful. The appetizer was cold but he took it right back, heated it up and problem was solved. The meal was good quality and filling. Problem is the pricing was high for the amount served. Always seems to be a problem on island, over priced meals. I would recommend it but I stress using coupons and happy hour pricing. Otherwise you might die of sticker shock when they bring you the bill.

Sitting here for an hour so far and no main course. Service is poor and slow. Got our appetizer and bread but no offer of more bread or anything else. Trying to celebrate our anniversary but they didn't care to ask about any special occassions either. Disappointed!

Kihei Outback has always been our choice for a nice family dinner. My son stayed at the Grand Wailea with his wife and two daughters (1yr & 5yrs). Last night we attempted to celebrate my son's 32nd birthday between 2 restaurants. Outback or Monkeypod. Majority vote was Outback. Mind you Outback was further away from the Grand Wailea. I called ahead and made reservations and when we got there we were seated right away. We ordered our food and the first thing that happened was the birthday boy found a piece of plastic wrapper the size of a 50 cent coin in his salad. It looked like a plastic wrapper from the the top of a salad dressing bottle. Our waitress apologized and got him another salad but they forgot the crouton's. She did mention that she would let a manager know of the discovery and that he would most likely be visiting us. My daughter who flew from Oahu to celebrate his brothers birthday ordered seared ahi. If you look at their menu the seared ahi has shredded cabbage along with the seared ahi. My daughters plate was dirty as if it was a previously used plate and the ahi thrown on there and brought out to her. The edges of the plate was smeared with grease marks and when you ran your fingers across the top outer edge of the plate you could feel the crusty grime. She refused the dish and didn't bother ordering a replacement. After about an hour we finally got our main entrée's except they forgot the clam chowder we ordered for my grand daughters. Can you imagine how the little girls were after an hour of waiting for food. Finally a manager came out and identified himself as the managing partner and apologized for what happened. He was aware in detail as to what happened. I mentioned that we came here a lot and we never ever had a bad meal here. I asked him what is going on here. His reply was "I don't know what's going on back there" but I'm sorry and I'll take care of it. IMO that was a bad answer for a managing partner not knowing what's going on with his restaurant. It's apparent to me this restaurant is under new ownership/management and it shows. I'm sorry but we cannot recommend your restaurant and we won't be coming back. May I suggest you get Chef Ramsey!

Ordered take away for quick and fast service for a lunch meal and arrived to pick up 10 after scheduled time for pick up and arrived to no one coming out to curbside and no one even at the desk on the side entrance. So walking around to the front and a waitress asked me what I need and helped me with my order but still ended up waiting another 10 mins for my order I placed 40 mins ago online, interesting to see that while waiting for my food multiple guests arrived waiting to be seated and ever person that came to the front desk all said 1sec someone will be right here to help you. There was only 4-5 tables Place wasn't even busy there was more than enough coverage .

I remember was on a Sunday night arrive around 6ish. There were a wait list putted my name and received my buzzer to notify me. Hour in half to 2 hours I've waited party behind me went and my buzzer didn't go off. Went in ask how long more the hostess ask for my name came to find out my name is cross off but wasn't called or buzzer went off.. But to make it up the server was great got our food just in time. Only down fall the host needs to communicate more and making sure the buzzer works properly!!

Got there about 530 and waited around for a table for 12 as there were many open. Hostess apologized as we waited and waited. The hostess apologized and said they were waiting for the waitress to get in. Again!?! This happened when we last came just a cpl weeks ago. Don't the waitresses start before you open? Got seated at 6. Come 630 and still no sight of our waitress, so someone in our party went to let the hostess know. Hostess apologized and couldn't believe the waitress had not yet stopped by our table. The rest of the night was just that. Extremely slow service throughout the night. Waited forever for our orders, couldn't find our waitress to order another drink, waited forever for the appetizers, food, and the birthday dessert for my niece. We were there at 530 and wasn't able to get our check till almost 9! I swear the bloomin onion has shrunk. The calamari wasn't too bad. I didn't get to eat most of my ribs as I was stuffed on beer and bread waiting for the appetizers and main course. We had to ask for extra extra bbq sauce for my husband and myself as the ribs were too dry. The waitress informed us she had to split the order into two tickets because our party of 12 was too large. So some main courses came 10-15 min apart. We were just there two weeks ago with the same people and did not have this problem. Really disappointed with the service of this outback. We will not return for awhile as they seem to be going downhill at a fast rate.

Just ate there and was really disgusted on how poorly dinner was. Asked for salad with dressing on the side. Salad came out with dressing all over it. No biggie. Asked for baked potatoe with sour cream on the side. Waitress asked if I wanted butter and I said "no please". Potatoe came with no sour cream and only butter!! Then I ordered filet minion and got top sirlion but they charged me for the filet. Supposed to have portobello mushrooms and nothing. Really disappointing. I could go to Ruth chris and get an awesome filet for almost the same price. So long outback. Really crappy.

Food was good...the waiter Tanner..just flat sucks. Sorry...but when I have to ask for bread, ask for plates for the appetizer, ask to fill my water glass and have to ask to clear my appetizer/bread plates after he has walked by 3 times....he sucks as a waiter! On a side note, The blooming onion was really good!

We tried the new lunch menu as well as dinner with group of 6. Service was mediocre. The new menu was ok. The surprising thing is when we went to dinner at around 6 p.m., they said they were out of ribs. Really! I can see that at 9 or 10 p.m., but at 6 p.m.? Something is going on here and it needs to be fixed.

We do like outback, we go often. Of course who doesn't love the blooming onion. There are a couple of new low priced items on the menu that we didn't love but all in all a nice dinner.

Meal took way long (almost an hour??) to arrive, steak was overdone (I am a medium rare) and had to send back to the kitchen. Lobster was very salty (steamed), a disappointment. Order it grilled/no seasoning and you can always use the butter to dip.

Let's start with My first time out this outback, I went around 8:30pm, was seated, and was ready to order before our waiter ever showed up at our table. He takes our drink orders, fills them in a decent amount of time, and then takes our meal order. We do not see him hardly one time between then and when our food came out. We did not receive bread, and we didn't even see him to be able to ask for any. We finally receive our food about 25/30 min later, even though the place was not busy. At this time we were very thirsty, and wanted refills so we had something to drink with our food. He said he would bring them right back. About 10 minutes later we are STILL waiting on drinks and waiting to touch our food, because we needed drinks up go with. We don't even see our waiter. So I get up and have to go to the hostess stand to ask for drinks. Someone there was willing to help us out, thank god. Then they refill our drinks, and a couple minutes after that, our waiter FINALLY arrives with our drinks that we asked for now almost 20 min prior. This was absolutely terrible service. I would never go back again if I didn't like outback so much. But I will refuse to be served by that guy again. And I'm pretty sure his name was Tanner.

The wait was about half an hour. The server was friendly and courteous, though she spilled my coffee a bit on her way to our table, and the cup was obviously two-thirds full...but she didn't bother to top it off. Our party requested our steaks to be cooked medium, but they all came to us well done; it was really disappointing. This was all after a very long day at work, so no one was in the mood to have our plates re-done. It really was a "meh" experience.

We have gone there 2 times, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times have been great. Food was hot, we were seated fairly quickly. We will be going back one more time before we head home.

Wasn't impressed. Ordered bone in Ribeye medium well and it came out well done. Was still edible, but not that great. Waiter suggested that they tend to undercook items so order one level darker if we weren't sure. I should have just done medium. My wife ordered a grilled pork chop and they way over cooked it as well, to the point that it was hard to even cut into. I've had positive experiences in the past at Outback, but this would not be a location I'd recommend to a friend. Didn't help that the lady at the booth next to us kept yelling and threatening her kid who misbehaved the whole time. I have 5 kids, so I understand what it's like to deal with kids that are wound up, but it made for an obnoxious environment for the rest of us.

Very disappointed in the food and bar service. We sat at the bar when we came in an there was only two other people at the bar. Ordered a beer a coke and a manhattan, we waited ten minutes to get our drinks -unacceptable. Our food came up in a timely fashion and our waitress , Kim, was very nice and attentive but I made the mistake of ordering Prime Rib. Could not eat it 1/3 fat and tough. Thank goodness for the potato .

They lost business because of the happy hour specials they took away but we couldmt resist the wings so here we are. Customer service is still awesome. They do have some of the happy hour specials but not as great as it use to be.

I was trying to decide on 4 or 5 stars as this is pretty much a 4 star place but they got Stacey from the Lahaina Outback so it gets a 5 (really she makes it a 6). I try and judge a restaurant on what it is trying to be and how much it costs. Outback is a half to a third of the cost of somewhere like Longhi's, yet the food is more consistent and the service better. It aims to be a reliable place to get a decent steak meal at a sane price. It pretty much hits the mark. It can get expensive at times, it can also be cheap, especially with happy hours. The price has certainly crept up over the past few years. The food is solid, not exceptional, but decent. The wood fired steaks are great, the unlimited shrimp special they ran a while back was awesome. The mini milk shakes are a huge hit with the kids and they have a great selection of more adult drinks. I had a few less than awesome experiences with some of the staff in the Lahaina location but luckily Kihei seems to have augmented their great staff with the best from Lahaina. Our trip to the Kihei restaurant was perfect, seated immediately, waited on promptly and politely. Food was exactly as ordered. The bill was about the same as the tip for a meal out at Roy's.

Outback has changed since I last dined, sadly it wasn't for the better. If it weren't for our waitress' great customer service, the manager checking up on us, I would have rated this experience 1 star instead. Not only have the prices rocketed but the quality of the food have gone downhill. Entrees included two sides and you could add a salad for extra. Now the salad counts as a side! Speaking of salads, my husband ordered a Caesar and I ordered a house salad with blue cheese dressing. The lettuce was browning and there was barely any dressing. I could've asked for more but just seeing the brown lettuce made me lose my appetite. We were hoping that our entree of two lobster tails would make up for it. I have to say it did, kind of. My tails were partially cold. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant so it was quite disappointing.

Went in there about a week ago on a busy night one of the hostess Shantel was outstanding. I was sat quickly even without calling in and she was very nice. Offered us everything possible while waiting to make it enjoyable. Good was okay seasoned well and our server Tiffany was just so great! She always had service with a smile! Before leaving the hostess farewelled us and I told them best experience we had!

Usually go for the outback prime rib or some sort of cut of meat. I would give it a higher rating but even though you order med rare it does not always come that way so yes it lacks consistancy as I go here often w/ the family. So your food will sometimes and sometimes not be cook as ordered. Service is usually very good just need to work on making it great all the time.

Average food and service. Nothing specially great but nothing terribly awful either. Ambience was standard chain appearance.

Everytime i go there, my steak OR prime rib is cooked perfect! Servers are nice though sometimes they can take long to bring drinks. Bloomin onion is always off the chain & love being in that family environment.

Thought this would be a good place to have dinner. Boy was I wrong. We called I advance to have them setup a table for us- it never happened. Service was slow and we had to ask for bread which it seemed like every one else got. Finally I had to hunt the waitress down and get her to give is a check with only another 20 minute wait to get it back while my kids fell asleep.

We had gone here for New Years Eve Dinner. We made reservations for 6:30 and wasn't seated till about 7:05. I had to go in and ask the hostesses "about how much longer?" and when I did, she had this look of surprise and confusion on her face and was like "oh its ready". So in other words she messed up and our table was ready for a long time, but they failed to tell us that. The hostesses all seemed new and very bad at their job!!! Then our waitress... Another story... She came and took our drinks and that took 15 minutes, then after getting our drinks, she took our orders. It took 20 minutes for the appetizers to come out and then another 40 minutes for our food to come. In the mean time our waitress is no where on the floor. When she did bring the food, we had wiped out the appetizers and was starving!?!? She didn't even apologize for the wait!!! (BTW I used my iPhone and timed everything) Our food was really bad! I wanted mines "well done" but it was burnt!!! Harder then a rock! All the food was inconsistent! There were other people around us who had sent their steaks back in 2 times! The manager that night seems super lousy and was making every excuse under the sun. He could have just apologized and gotten them new steaks! Horrible customer service. While we were eating, our waitress didn't even come once to ask how the food was! The last time we had seen her was when she came to bring us the bill. The check was the only thing that came on time! We had to ask other waiters to get us water refills! OVERALL: Young horrible untrained staff, manager who doesn't care about the customers, and kitchen staff who obviously couldn't cook steak, which is Outbacks signature item! Usually I don't have a problem with Outback, but I think Ruby Tuesdays across the parking lot sounds good!!

The three of us were seated right away, our server was prompt and had our drink and appy order taken within minutes. We ordered our food and it was brought out to is with the right timing! The food was hot and fresh and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Excellent food and service, we will return

Went there on 5/25 for a birthday dinner that left me wondering why the shrimp and potato I had were better than the steak at a 'steakhouse'. The waiter was great. We ordered iced tea and they brought sugar packets, and when I asked if they had simple syrup available for sweetening, they didn't have any. Sugar doesn't dissolve in cold liquid easily. Simple syrups are easy to make and are much better an option. I was a little surprised. Still, again, waiter was very polite and a great guy overall. The steak I ordered I asked to be made Medium. When it came back, pressing the flat of my knife against it told me all I needed to know, and when I cut into it, I found it indeed so well-done it was like jerky. Whoever was on grill that night needs SERIOUS training. They sent out another steak for me, a different cut, that was a bit underdone for my taste but I accepted it. Huge downside is that it was REALLY tough. I mean I had to saw my way through it and even then at one point the strength I had to use caused my steak to slide sharply on the plate. Juices were being forced out. They talk about 'tender' steaks. If that was 'tender' I'd hate to see their version of 'tough'. A chewy affair that I just couldn't finish eating, and left half of it behind. I'll never order steaks from this 'steakhouse' again. The bacon-wrapped shrimp and clam chowder were great. At least I left full. Not 'satisfied', but full. Not exactly 'happy', but full.

My boyfriend and I were REALLY looking forward to our date after a long week of working. We came here friday at 6:00 pm on 8-22-14. Pretty much everything went wrong, it seemed like all of their staff might have been new or relatively new. we were seated right away but it took my boyfriend grabbing the hostess and 20mins before anyone greeted us/took drink orders. Our appetizer was brought after our meal and they also brought out the wrong entre for my boyfriend. why 4 stars you ask? Because the manager was amazing. Even our waitress was really sweet. We don't usually complain, but we mentioned to the manager our complaints and she completely comped our meal. Our food was also really great (although my boyfriend had to take his home in a box because it took so long). I was just really impressed with the service we got and the quality of food. We will probably come back this weekend! (this was my first time at Outback)

First time here and waited 45 mins to be seated, we sat at the corner table under a dim light. Service started off ok hostess drop the silverware and took 10mins to bring new sets, waiter started off what seemed to be polite but it was a loud shouting welcome. Food took a while but it was a busy night so it was understandable. I had the baby back ribs, it was juicy tender literally falls off the bones. Sauce was perfect just the right amount of tanginess mixed with the perfect amount of barbecue. I also ordered their famous Blooming Onion, not all that great too much flavors going on in one item. All in all it was an enjoyable experience.

I don't know how anyone can eat this crap. I feel like throwing up because it was over seasoned. I don't know if it was because it's mother's day but who in their right mind tells their customers they basically premake the steaks? So that means everyone who orders a steak is eating something that's been sitting in an oven or heater for hours?! That's a red flag there.. It doesn't take a long time too cook a steak!! Majority of the party had a medium well steak of some sort because they apparently ran out of medium rare steak. I had a side salad with ranch on the side and the "No Rules Parmesan Pasta" with chicken and shrimp. First of all.. The side salad. It was gross. Pieces of the lettuce had black spots and didn't look appealing anymore after the fact that I had to maneuver around the many pieces of sharp cheddar. Who puts cheddar in salad? If anything they should ask you if you want it. On to the sad case they call pasta. I took one bite and I felt like throwing up. It's way over seasoned!!! Lay off the damn salt and pepper!! I took a bite of the chicken and shrimp hoping that would help.. NOOOO it didn't! I went to the bathroom dry heaving because I put my body through torture. It's after 1am and I still feel sick.. Dinner started at 630pm. My boyfriend's dinner on the other hand.. He ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and clam chowder. He said the clam chowder was super salty and somewhat peppery. The steak was steak but over seasoned with pepper. I think Outbacks is a huge contributor of the high obesity rate and high blood pressure cases on the island. And come on.. Your prices are so up there.. It's like you're charging for the over seasoning and not the actual food. Seriously, I don't know how anyone can be excited to go to Outback Steakhouse.

From So Cal. Here on vacation in Maui. Went to Outback last Sunday(8-12-12). Probably the best service I've had at an Outback. Sat us right away. Server was friendly and got our drinks. Of course got the bloomin' onion appetizer to start. I had the Norwegian Salmon with a side of Veggies. Perfectly cooked. My Dad had the Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer as his main course. Enjoyed it. My Uncle had the Rib Eye medium rare. And it was nicely cooked. *Our family friend had the Filet Mignon asked for it medium rare. When it arrived it was a little over cooked. I would say medium to medium well. When our server came around to ask us how was everything. He showed her the filet and she immediately apologized and said she will bring out a brand new filet. When the second Filet arrived. With out even asking to speak to a manager...the manager came by and apologized one more time and made sure the steak was to my friends liking. Then asked if we had any appetizer's. We said yes the bloomin' onion. And he gladly comped our appetizer. Giving this Outback 5 stars because the service was very professional. And even though my friends filet was overcooked they were very good about making sure the customers were please with their meal. Will definitely come back.

I generally love a good Outback. We were pretty late, right about closing time. Place was almost empty and even after a long day serving, the servers were very friendly here. The food, considering the late hour was also good. The bread was a bit hard but that's to be expected at this time. Hard to go wrong at an Outback when you get good service.

Realistically, if you're a "yelper" or turn to yelp for its recommendations, odds are you've eaten at an Outback Steakhouse. My family and I, a party of 13 strong had recently eaten here. To help raise money for Project Grad, we purchased 13 tickets for $15 apiece. Each fundraising ticket got us either a 6oz steak or a 10oz chicken with the choice of 2 sides. We capitalized on their half off all appetizers deal which is from 4pm - 7pm. Because there were so many of us and taking up so many tables, they were nice enough to honor the same specials but move us together on the dining room side of the restaurant. The reason I'm yelping Outback is because our server, NICK WAS THE GREATEST SERVER THAT I'VE HAD AT ANY RESTAURANT ON PLANET EARTH, EVER. From the jump, Nick was extremely welcoming and very helpful. Having worked in the restaurant industry before, I know first hand how hard it is handling a big party. No matter what we asked him for or the unfortunate amount of trips he had to take in the back to refill sodas, water, refill the breads, or get sauces, plates, forks, you name it, Nick did it all with a smile. There was a point that I got a bit aggravated at how many times we were asking him to do whatever, he told me that it was "absolutely no problem and it was all good" and continued on. When it came to getting our food, everything came out not just quickly, but everything came out together. We ddin't get our plates one at a time. And as usual, everything tasted great. I've been fortunate enough to eat at many restaurants, from high end ones to mom and pops. From them all, the service we got from Nick was seriously second to none. Throughout the evening, I was watching him to see how many other tables he had been tending. On top of having to deal with our 13 people, Nick was serving at least 4 other families. All without lowering the level of service with such big parties; impressive. I'll definitely be back to dine again at Outback and can only hope to be served by someone as awesome as Nick was. Great job buddy! Thank you!

Maybe it's because I was in the mood for something special that I found Outback so blah. It was really dark (had to squint to see), loud, and the food wasn't anything special. Even their Bloomin' Onion, which I used to love, didn't seem that great. I guess you'd be happy here if you felt like eating in a dark steakhouse that might as well be in Seattle, or Cleveland, or wherever you're from. If you want something different, or local, try somewhere else...you have plenty of options in Kihei. I know I won't be back

Another busy restaurant. love the food!!! We had the Bloomin' Onion' & Gold Coast Cocunut Shrimp w/Creole Marmalade sauce. I loved the Bloomin Onion, that looked so cool! I didnt see rice in the menu. They should reccomend if there is. We ordered dessert wow it took 11 mins. long!! The server Michael was nice enough to take that out from our ticket. THANK YOU!

After reading other reviews I was worried we had made a poor choice for dining. However, we were here on a Saturday evening and were seated within 10 mins. Our waitress was excellent and the food fresh. Our steaks were cooked to order. Overall very good experience.

Just had dinner here a few nights ago, with some concerns going in, given my experience with US-based Outbacks. The wife convinced me to be open mind, and I'm glad she did. This experience was like ALL of my non-mainland-based experiences: - excellent food - excellent service - excellent beer (Stella on tap...YES) My wife ordered a chicken sandwich, I did my usual totally decadent/will probably kill me/but who cares when they're great bacon swiss burger. Both meals were prepared to perfection, and the waiter was smooth, funny, and quick. What I DON'T get is why Outback Steakhouses anywhere but the US-mainland ROCK, and on said mainland, SUCK. What gives? Give this one a shot...you'll be very happy you did.

Maui Outback, the worst service from an Outback in the nation. Go elsewhere, you're in Maui for vacation and something DIFFERENT right? Cafe O'Lei is our favorite (2439 S. Kihei Rd) because the food is always perfect, atmosphere is wonderful and casual and service is elegant.

Very disappointed !! Service was really great, actually perfect. Food not so much. Ordered the trio, which was a big mistake!! Steak was ok, they give a very small steak with the trio. More like a steak finger.. I mean your hungry right you let some things slide but the ribs were the worst I've ever tasted. And i love, love ribs.. Very dry, ok let's be real honest, desert dry , no taste horrible . Told the waiter which brought the manager right away. She offered to send out another , but my taste buds already where killed and really didn't feel like being the tester again. She did take off $10.00 off bill but even now I can still imagine the taste. My spouse had a steak also and they over cooked it!! How hard is it to cook medium rare!! Anyways we will give it a try but first I think we'll go to Ruby Tuesday as each time we've gone there the steaks have always been cooked to perfection!! And the prices are comparable .we do love the blooming onion thou ..

Lets get something straight, right off the bat. Before I moved to Maui, I loved Outback, not just a little bit but a lot. Used to get the steak salad (no longer on the menu but they'll make it for ya, if you ask nicely), bloomin onion and a variety of other delectables. I've been to Outbacks in Waikiki, Hawaii Kai and Hong Kong (that's right Hong Kong with real Austrailian dudes talking to you at the bar). Food was always consistent, even in Hong Kong, until I moved to Maui. At the Kihei location, something is seriously wrong. The food is way way too salty. Someone's either heavy handed with the salt or they are substituting salt for other herbs & seasoning. That said, the service was good and quick.

Moved to Kihei about 6 months ago. We have enjoyed checking out the local restaurants. Tonight we felt like having some good old meat and potatoes. Unfortunately the Outback here is not nearly as good as the ones on the main land. My wife's steak had a very funky, kind oft gamie flavor. My sons chicken fingers tasted like they had been fried in old dirty oil and were burnt. To top it all off my burger was delivered to the table with a moldy bun. They promptly replaced the bun and comped my burger. Over all we were very disappointed. Bummer.

After eating a few days worth of terrible food in Maui and receiving terrible service in trying to sample the local cuisine (and we're from Oahu, so it's not that we don't like Hawaii food), we were looking for a really GOOD, HEARTY, meal. We ended up at Outback, and PRAYED that the food was tasty and that the service was better. We did a take out order, the guy taking our order was EXCELLENT, friendly, FAST, and they even offered us big plastic cups of water with lemon in it. (Our Outback on Oahu doesn't even offer us water when we do take out). The food was DELICIOUS. Cooked PERFECTLY. And we were fully satisfied with our orders! Not to mention that Outback provided the best service that we had out of all the days of our few-days trip! I would definitely come back!

On our last night, we wanted some GOOD food (the new places we tried for the first time were disappointing) so we headed to Outback for a guaranteed good meal. We opted to do take-out, and the friendly hostess walked us all the way to the back where the take-out station/register is located. That was much appreciated, as at Cafe O'Lei, the unhelpful hostess just told us to go find the bar and put an order in. Anyway, the guy helping us (Peter?) was very nice and got our order in quickly. They even got us giant cups of iced water w/ lemon to drink while we waited. I've done take-out at the Outback Steakhouse in Hawaii Kai on Oahu and they have good service, but this location was extremely good service! The food was great, and exactly what we were looking for. We got steak, grilled shrimp, shrimp scampi, crab cakes, and baked potato + mashed potatoes. All were very good. The portions are kind of on the smaller side considering the price, but it still wouldn't stop me from coming back. Gotta love that bloomin' onion eh?

We ate here for a weekday early dinner. My husband took advantage of the happy hour specials on the beer. We each had the prime rib which we always enjoy but this time it was very good, we got it seasoned and grilled. YUM! The waiter was attentive but didn't hover.

I have eaten at both the Kihei and Lahaina locations numerous times. Service rivals a lot of the high end restaurants I have eaten at. Food is always prepared to my taste, and if not they will quickly fix it. For food, service, and price, no other restaurant on Maui comes close.

The service Shaun provided was awesome, plus everyone else were welcoming and cheerful. The food was great (i had the mahi and my husband had steak). Both were really delicious, but the sides...:-| let us guessing if they weren't frozen, despite the fact that they said they were all fresh. Other than that, great;)

Fabulous happy hour. Half price appetizers and giants five dollar beers. The ahi tuna is amazing, and I usually just get that to eat. The manager here is super nice, and both of the bar tenders that have served us were very friendly. The wait is never very long for food, and everyone working there seems on top of things. :)

This place is staffed by absolutely indifferent waiters and bartender with no concept of customer service, and the food is terrible. Let me cite some examples: - At the bar, if your drink runs down? No fresh drink without asking - bartender is too busy having a conversation with a waiter by the register, or doing dishes to fulfill their primary job function of serving drinks. - No menu at the bar without asking. - At the tables, many times we've come in and not had anyone come by the table for 10+ minutes. Once we even had to find a manager. And often if they come by, to order you need to the flag them down again. - Once you order, the wait staff are constantly forgetting / getting simple orders wrong. "Oops," says the waiter, "they" forgot your side salad. - Orders take forever to come, even at off peak hours. - Servers go missing in the middle of a dinner (cigarette? running over to Safeway for a six pack? quickie in the walk-in?). - Two times have ordered a hamburger medium here, and it has come raw in the center - by raw I don't mean pink, I mean chew on some ground beef from the refrigerated section of the supermarket.

Really poor service. The waitress came to our table 4 times- to get order, deliver food, refill my drink after I had to flag her down to ask for it, and to deliver bill. Never asked how things were or offered to refill my drink. Food was mediocre. It's more expensive, like everything else on Maui, and the steak was very tough.

I've eaten here A LOT! Their happy hour is great and runs til 7pm!! The food is good, and of the more than 100 times I've eaten at this specific Outback I honestly can say the majority of those times the food and service have been good. Over the past few years they have heavily decreased their portion size, but honestly that's probably a good thing for the waistline.

My wife (Claire) and I frequent this restaurant quite often. We normally sit in the bar area where the bar staff is just phenomenial. The appetizers are great and a real bargain during the 4-6 PM happy hour. We highly recommend this restaurant and the outstanding staff. Ashley, Darin, Chelsea, Lisa, Berna, Shane and others are so customer service focused. In our opinion, you won't be disappointed in the dining experience. -joe

We frequent this Ouback about once a month and we are always satisfied with the great food and service. But on our most recent visit we were blown away by the service of our waiter Shane. He was so friendly and just had an overall great attitude, he genuinely seemed to like his job and interacting with people, it was a pleasant surprise! Not that the service there is ever lacking but Shane just went the extra mile and we really appreciated that!

Ok so if you read my reviews you would be able to tell that I am normally anti-chain... But it was raining the past cpl days I was at Safeway and outback was right there in same plaza so Im like what the hell its been like 8yrs since ive been to an outback so I gave it a try... The decor typical Outback was very clean, simple, dim lighting... The Service was very friendly the food was good we started with the ahi tuna appetizer and the tuna was I mean not as fresh as Id like but the seasoning and the dipping sauce were so good.. Then I got the same dish I have always had every time ive ever been to an outback the Alice Springs Chicken I know ya its bad for u the cheese the bacon the honey mustard but if you only eat 1/3 of your portion and you don't get the fries and have a side of rice its not that bad.. My friend had the grilled lobster and he really enjoyed his meal also... So all and all if you are a tourist and visiting Maui ur dumb for going to a Chain but if you are a local and want something different and reliable then come here...

I usually enjoy going to the Outback, but I only rated it 4-stars because they didn't put anything on their website re: Thanksgiving being closed. I'm all for businesses being closed so that employees can spend time w/ their families, but please indicate it on your website!

I'm usually at this Outback about once each month, and I usually have a good experience. I was there this past weekend, and the experience wasn't as good as it usually is. The greeter [who identified himself as the manager for the evening] made it abundantly clear that he wanted to seat me in the bar after I asked to be seated in the dining area. The server was courteous and did a good job, but I think she had too many tables to attend to, as there wer elong periods of time before she came back to check. The meal arrived just warm enough, but it rapidly cooled and became less appetizing as I worked on it. I think it was under a hot lamp just too long - the vegetables were dried-out and not as flavorful as they usually are. I've had better meals here.

The food was great, but expensive. If the ruby tuesday next door is more afforadable when it opens, we will probably go there more often. The service was great BUT the drinks were soooooooo weak. I honestly almost thought there was no alcohol in the drink at first and for $8 c'mon! I don't think it was a legal poor, being a bartender myself but who knows. I am better off just ordering a soda next time.
