I realllllly enjoy the food here. I ordered a goddess salad, which consists of avocado, papaya, onions, pine nuts, bib lettuce and goddess dressing...and I topped it with shrimp (which was seasoned unbelievably well). I couldn't get over how fresh everything was and how scrumptious it tasted in my mouth. I finished the thing in record time. Also, they carry the kettle chips which have some of the best chip flavors out there...I'm not sure how one could go wrong here.

Not good! My salad was terrible. Not worth the money or wait. My husband's salad was better than mine but they forgot the main ingredient, the ahi on top! So we had to go back and get it fixed! How could they forget the ahi when it is called grilled ahi salad?! Pretty bad in my book! Make your own healthy salad at home, it will taste better!

Had lunch here today..was kinda shocked about how much we paid food was good tho I had the curry chicken wrap..they forgot my daughters tuna sandwich so we had to come back even after I asked them if everything was in the bag when they handed it to me..later my dad pulled something out of his sub..it was a huge piece of like wax paper or whatever is used to wrap prepared meats with they forgot to take it off the turkey when putting it in the sub..kinda gross. At first when he held it up I thought it was one of the workers rubber gloves thankfully it wasn't but I lost my appetite anyway. I hate when places' food is super good but some how the service ruins it for me

Best salads on the island. Generous portions, high-quality ingredients. Had the Aloha Passion salad with the added grilled steak and it was hands down the best salad I have ever eaten. Location isn't the best because it is tucked away in a small shopping center that has horrible parking and it's a take-out restaurant so don't plan on eating there. Great selection, clean interior and friendly staff.

The fresh and healthy moniker unfortunately didn't transfer into the food. I got a six inch turkey sub for the price of a Footlong at subway. Not much selection and their mustard tasted like it was oil based. Delicious, but not healthy. The sandwich tasted like the artisan craft turkey sub you buy on a Delta flight. Now I'm just too emotional and want my 9 dollars back. 2 stars for atmosphere and locally sourced produce.

We came here repeatedly during our vacation in Kailua. One of the few places in the area where you can actually get some fresh fruits and veggies, and they have lots of very tasty options. I loved the salad with apple and lychee, and a friend also had a very tasty tuna salad sandwich with mango. Prices are not cheap (especially if you design your own salad) but the quality and variety are great.

Seriously one of the best restaurants on island! Their Mediterranean salad and tomato bisque are amazing!!! Plus you can't beat the price for food that fresh!!

So glad they renovated. The place looks great. Love the sandwich / salad combo. Super sad prices went up. The kids meals are soooo over priced; but the food is always good.

First time at the Kailua location..customer service is good and the workers was really friendly and nice. To me this location was best than the kapolei location..most definitely will be a returning customer and will recommend my Ohana and friends to come to this location!! They was fast and knew exactly what their doing and always willing to help if you have trouble picking something from there menu..

Admittedly, I was less than thrilled when my wife texted me saying she picked up dinner for us at Aloha Salads. I immediately pictured myself half-heartedly chomping on a giant bowl of lettuce leaves. Needless to say, I was completely surprised to come home to a steak wrap instead of rabbit food. As it turns out, while Aloha Salads does sell salads (as their name indicates), they also sell a variety of sandwiches and wraps and soup - perhaps for those like me who aren't completely sold on the idea of a salad as a meal. The steak wrap was tasty, as was the curried chicken wrap (although it was a bit on the sweet side for my taste). The aloha tuna sandwich and roasted turkey sandwiches were also good. Staff was very friendly. And the orders were prepared fairly quickly despite the shop being very busy. The shop itself is rather small - not really conducive for eating in. And there's no AC so it gets hot in there.

Always come here once or twice a week for salad. All my life I dreamt of a salad place like this because I like to make my salads like this at home but don't always have time.

  • KP H.

Ordered the small "aloha passion" (mixed greens * mangoes * apples * red grapes * cranberries * bleu cheese * candied walnuts passion orange vinaigrette) which was $7+tax. They assemble the ingredients in front of you, and put the dressing in its separate container. The lettuce and fruit tasted fresh and delicious! Salads come in 2 sizes (small or large) and with half of a pita bread. Soda fountain, two types of iced tea, and water available (although a delicious juice cafe is just next door!). Also a convenient location for those staying in Kailua.

not the Aloha Salad I remember, out of tofu and ingredients where a tad tired. But when you want a good filling local salad then this is the place

I order a small chicken Satay salad. I got a chicken Caesar salad instead. I'm not sure how you mix up the two, maybe you should turn the music down so you can hear your customers when they order. I'm beyond annoyed especially because I didn't bother to check the bag until I was all the way home. Won't make that mistake again if I EVER go to this place again.

There are a couple of salads on here that are great and actually worth the $10-$13. I love the seared ahi salad with strawberries, coconut, avocado, etc. the quinoa salad is good too. Everything seems to be a little overpriced. Ingredients are fresh and many are locally sourced. It's a quick process of ordering and walking away with your food. I haven't tried the sandwiches or soups so can't speak to those.

I love Aloha Salads. The items are always fresh, crispy and tasty. The food is healthy and filling. The bread is delish and their soup is to die for. What else can I say?! Love this place!

Very upset to report this place is not the same. First off they were closed way longer than expected. They have social media and nothing was ever put out to update their loyal customers. As you can tell from my previous review I came to this place a couple times a week. I probably won't be coming back after last night. The new menu board is so tiny you can barely read it, it's also cut off and you can't read the full menu. The new design of the place is no bigger with no more room for customers, it's actually less room. They have all new workers and it took 30 min to make my salad. Multiple times their were 3 or 4 workers gathered around the register trying to figure things out. I really really hope they get it together soon. Wish they would have never messed with the place.

Delicious!! So far every time I've been here ( and I've been here a lot!!!) it has been perfect! I used to get the Kamuela Cobb but recently I switched to the Ono Island Ahi and have never changed since. A great fresh salad with everything you could ever imagine! The ahi is yummy because it's seasoned well. Definitely would come here more if I could afford to spend $13 on a salad everyday. Another plus is the workers are really nice!

I ordered two paniolo salads. One large with steak, one small without, one shrimp and spinach and one small ahi salad. Totall = $44.00 and some change. Wtf! I kinda was hesitating to hand over my money contemplating cancelling my order. But I gave in because it was recommend by my wife. There was only one complaint from my daughter's ahi salad about the coconut. Said it kinda threw off the salad. Other than that and the price there's no other complaints. Customer service was good. They were friendly and smiles so I guess its better than smirks. Would I go back? I honestly dont think so. I know im trying to eat good on my wife's insistence but shit! $44.00? That's a lot of money for just frickin salads. Update: 9/02/13 I know I said I wouldn't but I did give them another chance with the insistence from my wife and I have to say I'm glad I did. I didn't want a salad only to be hungry 45 minutes later so I opted for the tomato basil soup and the italian sub. Tomato basil really hearty and creamy. With the melted parmesan and broken pieces of the pita bread mixed in it became a meal in itself. The italian sub with three different cold cuts and the melted provolone cheese was a perfect match with the soup. Both were very good. I would highly recommend the soup. This is definitely my go to meal after a good hike or swim.

Love their salads... especially the aloha passion one! Not much space to eat but got a seat after 10 min. I would go here once a week if I lived closer

great, fresh ingredients and a good variety of salads and subs. so few salad places in hawaii, this one is worth it. feels good to support local farmers and a local business. the keiki meals are a great value.

Just tried this location and then pearlridge one. Had the beet salad at pearlridge and the curry chicken wrap in Kailua. Had a gift card and tipped in cash. Not the most cost-efficient meal compared to other places this establishment is located next, but you come away feeling like you're doing your part to sustain a small local business. I'd frequent more if they had better specials and maybe a rewards program.

I'll start by saying that I really like the taste of the salads here. They are fresh and delicious. However, there is no consistency in the service or amount of food you receive. Sometimes I don't receive pita bread with my salad and others times I do. Sometimes I get a salad container that is 1/3 empty!! That has happened the past 2 times I've visited. For the price, I would not expect the salad container to be obviously empty. I'll post a picture of the salad I received last night. Normally I would go up to the counter and request the order to be fixed, but I was getting takeout both times and didn't get to see my order until I was home. Really disappointed in the lack of consistency (and lack of food) for the price! I expected better from Aloha Salads! :(

My friend recommended this place for a quick healthy lunch!! Wow I think I found my favorite lunch spot!!!! My husband is going to love this place. They are very friendly an fast. Proportions are great as well!!

The service was super slow for salads! The place is small. Best for take-out. There is a small stool seating area inside and tables nearby outside. You can order the salad with dressing on the side. The salads were good but nothing that made me want to come back. It came with bread, which was pretty good. Be sure to check your order before you leave or watch them make it because we ordered steak and when we opened the container... No steak! It was sad times for the belly. FYI, Parking was easy to find in the public lot.

  • Ceara K.

They never fail! Between the simple Caesar salad with blackened ahi to the fun mandarin ginger salad.... They are all amazing! The tomato bisque is to DIE for! I have eaten many different tomato bisques & NONE compare. (Nordstrom Cafe does have a pretty good one) my mom loves their lobster bisque, but it's definitely an acquired taste. Each order comes with pita bread, which is awesome cause I'm a bread person & it goes perfectly with my soup & salad. The sandwiches are pretty good here as well.... (The veggie sandwich with the mustard sauce... YUM!) total regulars all the time. Love aloha salads!!

  • Annie W.

Pricey? Just a tad bit, but for the locally grown vegetables and fruits, it's really not so bad. I enjoy their fresh salads and their service and smiles adds a little extra aloha. After a nice swim at Lanikai, this is a guilt free way to continue the day. I enjoyed a large ahi salad with all the fixings. I also get to create my own salad and that immediately caught my attention. The mangoes are unbelievable sweet, the strawberries are savory, and the leafy lettuce are rich in green. All the flavors that pop out from the fruit and vegetables leaves me craving for more. As much as I love meat, a balanced diet of some green in my life won't hurt either.

Summary: On the pricey-ish side of things but it is healthy, filling and yes, i'd go back for more! Day: I've been here on several occasions, randomly for lunch or after work and parking is never an issue since the establishment is located in a little strip mall across from Macys. Ambiance & Seating: Its small and clean inside with one table outside. Service: The service here is always happy, friendly and fast! I haven't had an issue on all the separate days i've gone! What I ordered: I absolutely LOVE the island ahi. I'm not sure if its because I come later in the evening but they always give me nice huge ahi steaks and i can't get enough. This is what is in the island ahi: island ahi Fresh island ahi tuna blackened over a bed of Haleiwa mixed field greens, Waialua mangoes,Kona avocado, coconut, strawberries, Molokai green onions & bean sprouts w/ our mango vinaigrette dressing The mango vinaigrette is fabulous and I wanted to lick the container clean. Ugh, no shame! I wanted to be adventurous and ordered the aloha passion, but I should have listed to another review and replace the dressing with mango vinaigrette. aloha passion Waialua mangoes, Granny-Smith apples, red grapes,sun-dried cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles, & candy-glazed walnuts, over Haleiwa mixed greens w/our famous passion orange vinaigrette dressing with grilled steak The passion orange was *SOUR* with a kick. It wasn't bad but I didn't like the pairing with the bleu cheese. What you SHOULD order: Anything, how can you go wrong with salad? If you're in doubt, just order the island ahi!

I had the steak wrap...it was nice and filling! The pita Wrap was nice and soft very fresh! I would order this without the sundried tomatoes! Staff was friendly even if I did show up at 930pm

This place is great! Healthy and delicious, and I'm a junk food lover. I haven't had any of their salads but I do recommend their tomato soup and their sandwiches. Sooooo yummy! The place is pretty small, but their service at this location is really fast! Most tables seat 2 people so it's good for lunch dates but not large groups. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying I truly like Aloha Salads. I just didn't care for this one. Granted I did come at lunchtime and the parking was horrendous. The wait was long, the food was decent, it just took so long. 3 people in front of me took 20 minutes. If I'm ordering a meal that isn't already there, then ok. I didn't even order the Ahi like I usually do. Truly disappointed in this location. I'll maybe give it a go another time just to see if I caught them at a bad time.

When I head to Kailua Beach, I come here for a salad to go and chow down on the beach. Like everyone else, my favorite is the ono island ahi salad: greens, strawberries, mangos, bean sprouts, tuna and a fruit vinaigrette. I prefer it without the coconut flakes - the taste with the rest of the salad just confuses me. The default tuna is cooked through, so if you want it seared, you should let them know. The slight negative is that a large salad is on the pricey side (~$11 or so). I've also had the roasted turkey club before, and it's OK. I would skip the tomato basil soup...or at least tell them to omit the parmesan cheese. The soup is super greasy and the cheese just melts into a giant chewy cheese mess. The rest of the menu looks tempting, but I'm perfectly fine with the ono island ahi :).

I used to love Aloha Salads but they've gone down hill since they re-opened their expanded Kailua store. The menu is impossible to see with tiny print. You can't back away from the huge board with all the salad, soup and sandwich options because there are 2 small tables with chairs that totally cramp the ordering/waiting/pickup area. Worst is the food: I got a salad with steak. The steak was overcooked with lots of fat and gristle: it was awful and I could only eat half of it. Meat portion is smaller too. An very expensive salad at $13+. Staff is kinda rude & unhelpful too. I used to be loyal customer; I may give them 1 more chance but I think this is a case of a place that got popular and now has compromised on quality. I wouldn't feed that steak to my dog!!! Homemade fresh salad dressing seems to have changed too.

I did not want to be boring and just order a caesar salad when I came here, so I went out on a limb and tried the Mandarin Ginger... Not a bad choice at all! Inside the salad are mandarin oranges, carrots, snow peas, wontons strip, chicken and almonds. With an asian ginger dressing. They even let me try the dressing prior to ordering the salad because I wasnt sure if I was excited about the ginger aspect of it. But it was good! I am not really a fan of mixed greens lettuce, because its not all that crunchy (and i love romaine) but it worked out nicely. I ordered a small salad and that was more than enough food for me! The service was a little slow but you can watch them create your salad right infront of you. It got busy in there real quick too.

EEEEWW I don't know about their hair net policies and/or cleanliness....but I just found a long, black hair in my salad. Yuck! Had to throw away the entire thing.

The place has healthy options. Love the soups. They had "pot Pie" soup that made me happy and watered mouth with anticipation. The Staff is cool, but the manager I believe by the name of "Tommy" is world class and conducts the place with a class of "Sir Duke" and he is an expert in Music, Frequency and Amplitude modulations.

We were driving around Kailua looking for a place for lunch and happened to stop at a strip mall. We came across Aloha Salads and thought the salads sounded amazing. And they were...fresh ingredients and tasty dressings. We ended up with large salads and they were very filling. We also had the salads tossed with the dressing and there was just the right amount of dressing. The shop is a bit small, but there is plenty of seating outside.

Aloha Salads has a convenient location and the wait isn't ever too long. The male who works here is exceptional on customer service and the ladies I have encountered have seemed sweet as well. The first time I went here I ordered the Paniolo Salad with steak - excellent and highly recommended. Generous portions for the larger size and the pita bread was warm and tasty. 5 stars for that. The second time I came I ordered the Kahuku Shrimp salad with spinach (the large size), chips and a water. The Kahuku Shrimp salad was literally just a ton of spinach with half an avocado, 2 peices of bacon and 4 peices of shrimp. For the prices they charged, I expected more meat and less spinach, I literally felt like I was just eating spinach the entire meal. The pita bread was cold too, I don't think they warmed it up :( On this second visit, they also gave me just one napkin and forgot to give me the water I ordered, so I went back and politely asked. The workers were very kind and helpful. Kinda seemed like they were overstaffed though, and the male working did most of the work. The thing that sucked about my second visit was I was still hungry after eating. I paid $15 and was still hungry, even with a bag of chips :(. Okay, sorry end of rant. Overall, the place is very clean and customer service was good. Food was pretty tasty - just don't order the Kahuku shrimp spinach salad unless you wanna pay $15 for mostly spinach, I suggest the Paniolo with steak. Prices are outrageous, so beware what you order. Overall, this spot is A-OK and I will probably be back, I will just stick with the Paniolo.

I only wish I lived closer! The tomato bisque was OUTSTANDING! I had a wrap as well, that was great, but my heart was set on that soup! Love the idea of eating fresh and for people, like me, who are on vacation, its a great alternative! Delicious!

THE 411: A great take-out option for anyone concerned about maintaining their health. ***** Happened to stop by Aloha Salads last week for a bite to eat. They have a wide variety of salads to choose from, and what makes this place so unique is that they incorporate a lot of tropical flavors and local ingredients into their menu items. The food is not only delicious, but light and fresh as well. Out of curiosity, I checked their online website to find out more about the nutrition facts for their menu items and I was delightfully surprised... the company focuses on healthy eating, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their salad dressings are free of hydrogenated oils and trans fats. They also source their produce from local farmers and fisherman to support the local economy. Not bad, eh? Because of their commitment to the local economy and good health, I will continue to visit Aloha Salads in the future, and I highly recommend this place to anyone else looking for healthy take-out options.

I've always wanted to try Aloha Salads, but seemed to never want to spend that kind of money for a salad. I've passed the one in Kahala and Kapolei numerous times, but since I worked in Kailua the other week, and seen they had, I couldn't pass it up. (I guess it helped that I didn't bring lunch). They have a pretty good variety a foods to choose from, but I chose the safe route and ordered a small Caesar salad. It came out to around $7. The garlic croutons were so delicious! And the pita bread they give on the side is not so bad too. Since I was on the go I couldn't order the tomato soup, but perhaps next time. I've heard the ahi salad is the best also... The service was good and they got my order correct so I'm satisfied with my visit. Not sure if I'd come here on a weekly basis though because it is pretty pricey. I think my taste buds wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference between their Caesar salad and Costcos salad.

I love coming here for lunch at least once a week. The salads are delicious and fresh, the tomato basil soup is tasty, and the prices aren't bad. My favorite salads are the Caesar with seared ahi and the chicken satay. The tomato basil soup goes great with any of the salads and always remember to get it garnished! I have yet to try any sandwiches but my friend sweated by the ahi wrap. They also have kids meals that come with a sandwich, fruit & veggie, a water, and a mini lollipop. My only gripe about it would be that the apples in the kids meal are Granny Smith and my kid freaked out about how sour it was. I don't think many kids are fans of sour apples so I'm not sure why they put that particular type. Their poor choice in apple type for the kids meal won't keep me from coming back though. I'm determined to try everything on the menu by the end of the year!

The service is excellent! The two girls working the last time i stopped by to grab lunch were very friendly and courteous. The food is uber fresh! I've tried just about all of the salads on the menu and they were all delicious. You can order a signature salad or have them custom make one for you. My fave salads - Mandarin Ginger : Grilled Chicken breast, mandarin orange slices, almonds, julienne carrots, green onions, snow peas & crispy wontons on a bed of mixed spring greens. The salad comes sprinkled w/sesame seeds and Asian ginger dressing. This salad is not only refreshing but super yummy as well :) - Kahuku Spinach : Grilled Tiger Shrimp, bacon, avacado & eggs on a bed of Spinach leaves with papaya dressing. I love everything about this salad. It's hearty and super yummy! - The Goddess : Papaya, avocado & pine nuts on a bed of mixed field greens with Goddess dressing. This salad is simple but so delicious. Besides salads they also offer signature sandwiches, fruit bowls and soup. I've tried a few of the sandwiches and they were fresh but I'm not a big fan of them. The soups however are amazing! The tomato bisque is yumm to the yumm! It comes garnished with Parmesan cheese & basil. Also warm pita bread on the side :) I would say that it's the best tomato bisque I've ever had but it's a close second with Nordstrom's cafe taking the crown. It is definitely the best you'll find on the Windward side :) This place is fantastic! Food is great! The service is wonderful! The prices are higher end but sooooo worth it! Next time your in search of a healthy alternative meal, give this place a try I'm sure you wont regret it :)

I was so excited to try Aloha Salads, because I had heard wonderful things about it; maybe my hopes were just too high. I love salad, but this place was very disappointing. I got the Mediterranean salad, which sounded super delicious, but when I got it there was only one tomato, about 4 chickpeas, and maybe 2 or 3 black olives. The rest was just lettuce. The dressing was tasty, I'll give them that much. Oh, and the hummus was super yum. But that can't even be described as a salad, it was all just lettuce, which has very low nutritional value. I was so disappointed, I won't be going back. Close to 9$ for lettuce, when I can go to the store and make a weeks worth of salads for 9$. Thumbs down, sorry.

Make sure you double check your order before you leave. I walked in at just the right time...so I thought. I ordered two salads the first was Ono Island Ahi cooked med rare and added some mandarin oranges. The second salad was Mandarin Ginger salad, tomatoe bisque and 2 waters. When I sat down to eat my ahi was over cooked, no dressing, no side of mandarin oranges and no water. I also over heard the girl before me did not get her tomatoes that come on her salad and the girl after me did not want blue cheese and they accidentally put it on her salad. The girl behind the counter apologized and corrected the order. Lucky for them the food is good. I learned my lesson check my order before I leave. I hope this improves their service in the future.

I love this place they have great salads and sandwiches too. Price is a bit high but its Hawaii and they use the freshest items available to make everything so I cant complain. My only complaint is they have limited space inside.

Tried this at the location in downtown Honolulu & loved it, so I suggested to my friend that we eat here. We both got the healthy combo: Italian sandwich & chicken pot pie soup. It was actually really good despite the burnt bread. The reason why I gave 3 stars was because of service. There were at least 4-5 girls working. I don't know why there were that many. The place really isn't that big. They were all gossiping & not paying attention to what they were making. When I got my sub, the girl said it was a turkey. I told her that I ordered an Italian as nicely as I could. All the girls looked at me like I was stupid. But the girl who made my sandwich seemed apologetic & made a new one. I wanted to give the turkey sandwich back so they could give it to another customer. One girl just grabbed it the sandwich & rolled her eyes at me. Maybe I should have kept that sandwich then! So the girl made my sandwich & apologized to me, but all the other girls just stared at me & whispered behind my back. I work retail & I know that when whispering occurs after a customer has left, the content of the whispering is about the customer. I truly did not appreciate their attitude & will not come back to this place. The one in downtown Honolulu has better service. Perhaps the reason why they were giving me attitude was because I didn't leave a tip. My friend put some coins in their tip jar & got her order right. I had to pay by credit card because I didn't have any cash on me. I was thinking maybe I should have left a tip so I could have gotten better service, but now I don't regret it.

Used to love this place, but I'm getting increasingly worried about the quality of both the food and the service. I've avoided putting in a negative review, but I'm hoping that doing so will spur the owners to pay a bit more attention. Challenges include not having items in stock consistently, dressing shortages and the main issue: completely messing up my orders. On the last point, it has become so bad that when looking for some where to eat, I will pass up Aloha Salads because they keep screwing up my orders. Every time I order now, I have to double check the result because it's wrong. Today, as I was rushing to grab lunch and head to a meeting, I forgot to double check. My mistake: they screwed it up again. It would be great to see the owners back in the stores consistently to maintain quality. I've just seen too many businesses struggle with success and expansion that ultimately ruins them. I'm hoping they get this fixed soon.

If you are looking for a quick lunch place that is healthy, fast, and delicious this is your place! There are a variety of salads, soups, and sandwiches and have a you pick two option! The sizes are simple a small or a large and the prices vary depending on what salad you have because of the ingredients. The menu is like a Hawaiian Panera Bread with fresh delicious ingredients. Today I had the Curried Quinoa salad that came with mixed greens, arugula, quinoa, mango, carrots, edamame, bean sprout, avocado, cranberries, almonds with curried pineapple vinaigrette. I ordered the small which was $7.25 and was plenty for me because of all the added toppings! My aunt had the cobb salad, which she said was delicious as well. With our salads we received two pieced of soft pita bread that was an added treat to our meal. I look forward to going back and trying their other salads that sounds amazing like their kale salad and their beet one. The best part of Aloha Salads is that they have plenty of gluten free options, which I greatly appreciate because I am gluten free and find it hard to sometimes eat out. Definitely stop by and you won't be disappointed!!

Aloha Salads menu includes Signature Salads, Design Your Own Salad, Design Your Own Fruit Bowl, and Signature subs. For my first visit i tried the Aloha Mediterranean Signature Salad which consisted of Tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, Greek olives, fresh dill, bell peppers & crumbled feta cheese with Mediterranean & Romaine Hearts dressing. At $7.95 I thought it was a bit pricey yet enjoyable! I would love to go back and try The Goddess (sweet local papaya, avocado & pine nuts). From the design your own fruit bowl menu you can choose five fruits for $4.50! Fruit selection includes apples, mango, shredded coconut, banana, papaya, strawberries, lychee, pineapple, mandarin oranges and red grapes! The salad was made fresh and the service was great. They purchase their produce from local farmers, so I highly support their business!

After a short dusk hike with some friends at Lanikai pillboxes on a Sunday, we came here spontaneously, because Lanikai Juice was closed. I've heard about 'Aloha Salads' and that you can customize your own salads, so I decided to give this place a try. At first, I wanted to customize my own salad, but after being tired and starving I decided to just order the "Kamuela Cobb". This is where the service could use some major work. The cashier looked annoyed, I mean the most "I'm annoyed I can't believe I'm here on a Sunday, just hurry up and order your salad." I was starting to get annoyed myself. It was a Sunday night (7PM) and there only 4 of us altogether in that store, the shopping center was empty. They didn't close until 9PM. I get it, it's Sunday it's a slow night, but wow -- I felt like I should've just gone next door to Subway instead. I let it go and ordered my cobb salad and my bf's "Aloha Caesar Salad", again the employee was a bit snippy "Do you want your ranch tossed in or on the side!?" I didn't even know you could get it tossed in, so I said tossed in for both salads. You get to choose between a medium or large. After paying, I realized I forgot to order our bottle of waters. So, not wanting to deal with the cashier I told my bf to go order it. The lady rudely said, "Are you gonna order AGAIN?" Bf came back and was slightly annoyed too. THEN, service seemed to be that bad for our entire party. As I watched my friends order their food, same snippy attitude. My friend ordered one of those can iced teas and realized it wasn't cold. So they asked if they could switch it for a cold one, lady said "Sorry. We just filled the fridge, that's the only one we have." Which is fine, we understand, but EASY on the attitude missy. My friend was annoyed too. The Kamuela Cobb has good, I love the blue cheese and the medium cut size crispy bacon pieces and the slices of egg. I love the fact that the dressing is actually tossed in, so much easier!!! They also give you fresh hot pita bread with every salad you order, which is a real treat and I absolutely loved it; the pita was hot and soft. I would give this place 4 stars, because I genuinely loved my salad -- but the service really disappointed me and I was quite annoyed even after.

I appreciate the fresh options available here. Service is pretty good...just a bit of a wait on busy days. Just wish there were more seating available.

I love Aloha Salads, but it seems that the longer they are around, the worse their service gets and the lesser quality of the salads is received. I will forever be a fan of your Aloha Passion salad, but I tend to stay away from the bad and unfriendly service as much as possible. Selling the dressings is a good idea, but they seem to be far from the original dressings that are actually on the salads you serve.

The food is so fresh! They have some amazing salads. If I am craving a salad I order the Ono island ahi. However, If your not in the mood for a salad try the steak wrap, the pita melts in your mouth.

In the past two weeks, my husband and I visited the location multiple times and was treated very well by the young man at the register each time. During our third visit my husband and I decided to eat in the store. They had accidentally forgotten my salad dressing (I asked for it on the side), and I walked back to the register to ask for my dressing. The young man was in the back of the store sweeping as I stood at the register for a couple minutes. Had the young man been at the register, I know that he'd offer me great customer service. Instead, I stood there and made eye contact with the two female workers who stood just a few feet away from me while they made another customer's order. Both females hadn't even bothered to ask me if I need anything. They continued to gossip amongst themselves as if they were in a high school locker room I had said "excuse me" a few times to them, but they "appeared" not to hear me. My husband (watching this happening) stood up and loudly said "um...excuse me. May she have her salad dressing?". The female worker looked at me with the most evil eyes as if I had called her an inappropriate name and proceeded to say in an abrupt manner "what do you want?". I was shocked. I had to explain to her that I didn't receive dressing with my salad and she moved her head to see what we had on our table as if to check that I didn't get it. Ugh...horrible customer service from the females and fantastic service from the male. Two stars for the delicious salad and the awesome male worker. We decided to boycott the store until we are desperate for our favorite salads.

This location was very eh. I love aloha salads, but they messed up my order (forgot things and gave me the wrong things) and had no avocado :( there was an ample amount of staff, but they still seemed over stressed and "short handed".

Aloha Salads has made a name for themselves and I always default to them when I feel like being healthy. One day I had a meeting off site for work and I decided to drive all the way to Kailua to pick up a salad for lunch. Got to this Aloha Salads and it is fairly small. I think it's the smallest I have been to on the island. Did a quick stop to pick up my fave and probably the most fattiest salad, Kamuela Cobb. Service was pretty fast. The junk thing is that I wanted to buy a drink and all but two were not chilled or refrigerated. The one I wanted was not cold. No thank you. Please refrigerate more varieties of your drinks. Overall, same great quality of salads and service was pleasant. Love supporting local. My favorite location still stands to be the Kapolei one.

Maybe I didn't get the right thing and I'm a little intimidated by all the good ratings this place has, but my experience here was anything but... My main beef has to do with the prices. Hubby and I ordered the half sandwiches with soup combos. Sandwiches were tiny, my tomato basil soup was OK. Took a little long to get our food but then again there was a bit of a line going and only two people working. Our 'organic' sweet teas were expensive as heck too in the $2.50 neighborhood for a small can. Overall, I wasn't impressed with our food choices, maybe next time will be better.

I LOVE this place. I read about the company in an article and was stoked when I found out there was a Kailua location. I believe its run by a couple who are originally from Hawaii. They only use local ingredients, which means double stars from me. All the salads I've ever had are fresh and crisp. They keep the place clean, so not only does it taste fresh, but looks like a breath of fresh air. I think there must have been a disclaimer on the Help Wanted flyer that said "must be adorable" because all the workers there are just that...and nice too! Service is fast, you only have to wait about 5 minutes for your order. If you are a simple salad type of person, you probably will think they dress their salads up too much. Most of the salads come with all combos of fruits and veggies. They also have sandwhiches and soups too. The prices are well set for the amount and heft you get in each one, especially considering it falls under "healthy" and "local" categories...which in some places tend to be more $$$ just because its not junk food. I would sit here and tell you all the ones I had and which ones were good, but all of them are...so go check it out, and the staff too. =P

It's hard for me to want to eat "healthy" when I'm back home in Hawaii, but this place is the perfect compromise. They offer a long-list of specialty salads that have a local twist to it such as the Paia Pomegranate with strawberries, pomegranate, spinach, papaya, mint, walnuts and more delicious toppings. You can also choose to create your own salad and each order comes with a side of pita bread. Aside from salads, they also offer wraps, sandwiches and a soup of the day. I haven't had any of these options, but they look damn good. :) The BEST part about Aloha Salads is that all their ingredients are made and grown in Hawaii: all the fruit, leaves, and meats. The "lesser-great" part is that because of all the fantastic ingredients and recipes, the prices are a bit expensive---but WELL WORTH IT for sure!

Healthy, Delicious, Fresh, Supporting a Local Business survive in a tough economy! Had a slumber party at my gf's house..after a long day of shopping, we wanted something quick, light, healthy and easy, so we called our orders in to Aloha Salads. Within 10 minutes, our salads were ready to go. She ordered the Paniolo and I got the Kahuku Spinach salad. I LOVED my salad so much, when I got to the last bite, I literally could feel a tear running down my face :( *Kahuku Spinach ~ fresh spinach, avocado, 4 pieces of grilled shrimp, bacon bits, sliced eggs with a papaya seed dressing. I'm not such a fan of papaya seed dressing, so I used my gf's bbq ranch dressing instead. It was so awesome! I also added cilantro and pine nuts. I enjoyed every bite...down to the last pine nut! I keep hearing about their amazing ahi wrap with capers. I'll be sure to try this the next time I go. I need to eat more greens...so now eating veggies is fun again!

Extremely disappointing and overpriced. I ordered an Ono Island Ahi salad, as I had a serious craving for good ahi. The description of their salad follows: "Blackened fresh ahi tuna, with mango, strawberries, shredded coconut, avocado, green onions & bean sprouts. Dressing: Mango Vinaigrette & Mixed Field Greens. " My tuna was neither blackened nor a portion big enough to consume in more than one bite. It looked like it had been taken out of a can. I asked to confirm if it was fresh, and the salad girl said she wasn't sure. Well, isn't it in your description that it's supposed to be fresh? Where was the shredded coconut? I found one slice of avocado in my salad. There were enough green onions but they did not add flavor to the salad. The amount of mango, strawberries, and bean sprouts in my salad added up to one forkful. I don't use salad dressings (sure, you can go on and on about how it's healthier that way, but for this foodie, it's because I really enjoy the pure flavours of complementing fruits & veggies in a salad). Having said that, one could understand why it was not really filling or satisfying. I was basically eating a couple big forkfuls of mixed greens for at least $10. There is also quite limited seating. I do like that they sponsor local canoeing and swimming and their commitment to locally-sourced products (but then again, aren't most of the health-conscious cafes and restaurants around here focused on being locally-sourced?).

friendly service, ingredients used were fresh and good quality , items ordered were enjoyable, but pricey. wraps or a salad runs 'bout $9. not good enough to be worth the cost. probably won't be back, there's far too many other better options in these neck of the woods.

Awesome, this place is super fast compared to the location we usually go to. Possibly because they weren't busy at the moment, but regardless, we were hungry, we were fed quickly, and we had good sized delicious portions. Winning. So the only bad part of this place is the minimal seating. There were three whole bar stools inside and a single two-top table outside. Ouch, it's no wonder they weren't very busy. I ended up walking next door to get a soda off tap, too, but seriously, it was nice to sit outside and eat our salads in the windward air. Plus, a few ladies walked by from the mexican restaurant nearby and felt guilty for eating what they did and awed over our healthy and yummy looking salads. Winning. Times two.

Small salad and half sandwich a bit overpriced at $9. Caesar salad was rather skimpy portion. Roasted turkey sandwich was nothing spectacular. Whole wheat bread was tasteless and dry. Store was very hot. No A/C! Even the cup of water they gave was warm. Nice outdoor seating though and near great shops. Next door Subway would be a better deal.

Great salads, quick! I am simple and prefer Caesar salads and the Italian sandwich combo, great fill-up for under ten bucks! This isnt a stop and dine place, not much seating, just go pick it up and head to the park or beach or home.Order, they make it fresh and you go! My friends seem to really like all of the various salads, give it a try!

I usually have no complaints at this Aloha Salads location as well as the other locations but the cashier, "Chanelle" had the worst attitude. I don't think me and my friends are coming back here again. I understand it was lunch time and it was pretty busy, but she could at least express her annoyance more discreetly... she let out deep sighs, rolled her eyes, both to her coworkers AND customers. When her friend, I assume, came in to order, her friend suggested her to "hoo-sah" (i.e. relax) in which she replied "hah, I need more than that." This was all my observation while I was patiently waiting for my order. I couldn't believe her attitude! The food was good, The Paniolo is ah-ma-zing, but still pricey. To add shrimp to a salad is $4.99 and you get 4 pieces?!

Great concept for a healthier meal alternative ..However, there are a couple of issues with service : 1. For the price, enough meat & cheese should be provided in the salads ....There is a disproportionate ratio of iceberg lettuce to other ingredients. 2. Limited seating area and no garbage can provided for customers ...Counter staff has to take your trash... 3. Staff does not listen very well to orders and more often than not, something is wrong ...Frustrating to reiterate requests and still have it incorrect ...(Note: I do not experience these issues with the Kapolei location )

This is a favorite place of mine to go for lunch. I love the Ono Ahi salad and get it all the time! I recently started trying the sandwiches and they too, are so good! The turkey, bacon, lettuce tomato sandwich is a must try! Everything is so fresh and yummy! I love their pita bread they give with every salad. You can even buy a whole package of pita bread from them, which I do all the time. It is the softest pita bread I've found anywhere.

Salads and soups are delicious and healthy. Service was great - they accommodated by substituting my choice of a fruit or veggie for chicken in the salad. Food is a little pricey, but they use quality ingredients and don't skimp on anything. I'm a regular at Aloha Salads Kailua!

...sigh...I used to love this place. But then I noticed the huge dent in made in my wallet! It's almost $20 for a salad with steak on it. And only 4 or 5 pieces of fatty meat at that. I think they owner has spread himself too thin. He's now open at Kahala and Ward. Perhaps the mice are not doing what they should when the cat is away? Service here is HORRIBLE. Expect to wait 20 min + if there are more than 2 people in line. Even if you phone it in. I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because it USED to be better.

The food is good and fresh. I love the tuna sandwich here and my fiance likes the pastrami sandwich. We have also tried the tomato soup and another soup, that I believe was a butternut squash soup. Both were good. People who work here are friendly. Keep it up, Aloha Salads.

1 Salad Combo + Sub Combo 9.95 + tiger shrimp 4.50 +1 sweet iced tea 2.55 Total $17.80 Really did I just pay for that? I must have added everything incorrectly in my mind. Yep I ordered a combo? Yep eating healthy is sure expensive! I ordered the Aloha Pineapple Salad and a Aloha Tuna Sub. I can tell you this much that I ate that combo like it was my last meal! The Aloha Pineapple is a refreshing salad if you enjoy fruits in it. I loved that salad because I just love sweets and it went perfect with that Vinaigrette dressing. The salad has just about every fruit that you can imagine, Strawberries, Pineapple, Coconut, Mandarin Orange & Lychee! Yep oh don't forget the greens :) And the fruits are so fresh and ripe it doesn't seem like you're eating a salad! And if you add grilled tiger shrimp, oh my gosh you have yourself a gourmet salad! The Pineapple Vinaigrette is just another cherry on top of the salad. They also have other salads that are unique if you don't have a sweet tooth! I was so satisfied with my salad, I knew that my sub would even be more awesome! After hiking up Lanikai Pill Boxes you will most def need something to reward yourself! And this is just the place to get your fix and not have a guilty conscious. The Aloha Tuna is white Albacore tuna salad mixed with greens, mangoes, strawberries and papaya dressing! I know it sounds a little weird but everything just goes together and I seriously had a mouth orgy! If you are in a healthy trend you will need to try this place out, it is just amazing with all the different types of salads and sandwiches! Next time I go I will try something new but most likely I will have to order my Aloha Pineapple, come on.. wouldn't you want that Aloha Pineapple?

Lettuce is one of the more boring vegetables, and Aloha Salads is just the snazzy pair of shoes lettuce needs to transform it into something fabulous. Like a classic pair of converse all stars, I fa-la-la-la-loooveee this place and their delicious array of healthy meal choices. Aloha Passion with mango, sweet walnuts, and granny smith apples? YUMMMM. Ono Ahi salad with seared ahi, coconut flakes, and sprouts? Yes, please. They get an extra point in my book for using local, organic produce -- and I love that they serve their salads with fluffy warm pita triangles -- they're perfect for mopping up extra dressing. They lose a star for sometimes getting little things with orders wrong (feta cheese instead of bleu, dressing on the side, etc, and for being a tad on the pricey side. Overall, two thumbs up. I highly recommend. Yelp 365 Challenge 23/365

So the shop is small yet modest, but the flavor of the sandwiches my wife and I had were outrageous. I had the Italian and it had a tonne of meat and super fresh veggies, which are apparently locally grown. My wife couldn't stop talking about how good the avocado was on her Club sub. And to support all those excellent sandwich internals, they served it on an excellent whole wheat sub bread. The heartiness of the roll and seeds on top really capped off an awesome lunch for us. Value for money, this is a top notch custom sandwich factory!

I'm a salad lover, and when I heard of Aloha Salad I had high expectations of this place, especially being in Kailua. The salads were awesome!! I ordered the Paia Pomegranite salad, and it was more like a dessert than your typical leafy salads. It had a bit heavy on the dressing though, making it too tart, but other than that quite delicious!! I have also eaten the Pastrami sandwich. DELICIOUS! I love how they use gourmet mustard, yum yum!! I've also eaten the Club Sandwich and Roasted Turkey. Both delicious! Although, they are quite pricey for what you order. :[ I mean, I wouldn't mind paying $10 for a half salad and sandwich if maybe the salad was a bit bigger/fuller. But I felt robbed. My salad barely filled half of my container. Really? You're going to short me out on salad? I was starving that day! Haha, my half sandwich/salad combo didn't fill me at all!! It also sucks that their fridge, where they keep their drinks, isn't that chilled. I ordered water and it wasn't that cold. Ever get those drinks that feel cold outside, but once you take your sip it's warm? That's the exact temperature of their drinks. I'll come back, definitely, but maybe when I'm not starving to death.

Fast, convenient, tasty, and healthy. What more do you want from a salad bar? We were back from a hike and wanted something healthy to top off our morning. We stumbled upon this place based on its great Yelp reviews. I got a salad with grilled steak which was delicious. The veggies seemed locally grown, the mangoes was a nice touch, and the steak was just enough to give the salad a savory angle. The salad is very sweet, which is how I like it, but may be too much for some people as their dressing, cranberries, and honey-crusted walnuts also add to the sweetness. I'm glad I found this place and will be making a stop here everytime I'm in Kailua.

Little shop of healthy delights. I am a fan, why? because of their Aloha Passion salad. Filled with Mango, Feta Cheese, Grapes, Candied Walnuts, and topped with Pineapple Vinegarette Dressing. I believe they use another dressing for this salad, but I request this one because it blends well with the feta. The workers here are very friendly, the salads are made right in front of your eyes, and you get 2 slices of Pita Bread. There are half orders and full orders. There are soups and sandwiches here also, if that's what you are in the mood for. I found myself waking up early before work just to stop in and get my healthy/guilty pleasure. Yum!

Had the ahi salad. The ahi was awesome! Everything on the salad was fresh and had great flavor including the dressing. My only suggestion would be having a better mix of greens. Without some variety, a salad that big can get tedious one all of the goodies get gobbled up. Overall very good and I will return.

Never would I think that Mango's and Strawberries will go together with tuna, but being a chef I am open to new things. I took one bite of this sandwich and I fell in love with the idea. I will never look at a tuna sandwich the same ever again. At first my friend said to go there and give it a try, so I thought about it and one day I said why not. If you want a healthy place to eat and a great tuna sandwich in my opinion then stop there. Not many places to sit and eat, but it is a good place to just grab and go. You can't just throw things together and call it a salad, it takes taste and with the proper ingredients a salad becomes heaven in your mouth. Aloha salad has done just that in my opinion and I feel that I will return there to enjoy a good meal again. Price may be a little high but I'd say it is worth it and trust me I don't say that about many other places.

This is my go-to place for lunch when I'm filling in at a clinic in the area. A great, locally owned place with friendly service and awesome healthy lunch choices. There are a variety of salads, sandwiches, and wraps with a mix of meat, fish, and veggie options. I honestly can only vouch for the mediterranean salad...what can I say? I'm a creature of habit and I'm pickin up what that salad's puttin down. A mix of greens, red onions, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, and feta cheese...I just wish it came with chicken or fish. I feel like for the price (8.95), it should come with some protein...how else am I gonna get the fuel to sculpt my guns?! I love the little slices of flat bread that come as a side. Sodas and drinks are sold separately by the bottle or can and are kinda pricey. ps: Another place that doesn't take AmEx! Maybe I should stop complaining and get a different rewards card!

I would give this place zero starts if I could. Absolutely disgusting. Ordered 2 different salads to go and both salads had bugs in them!!!! One salad had a live gnat trapped inside the salad box flying around and the other salad had a dead bug stuck to the hard boiled egg. Definitely the last time I will ever order anything from here - especially with whole foods right across the street now.

Ok so my cousin, who lives in Kailua, has raved about this place for years. She is putting a new kitchen in her home so has been eating out a lot. We decided to order healthy and called our order in. I ordered the Aloha Passion, the salad was incredibly fresh, but I think they just threw the ingredients in the to go container. The lettuce and walnuts were not even close to chopped. It was way too much work, I did try to cut up the lettuce, and for the price $$$$. I don't think I will do that again nor recommend the place, pretty disappointed.

This was my first visit to this particular franchise and restaurant. I got the combo and it was awesome! I think it was the Paia Pomegrant and a veggie sub. The second time I went I got the Pineapple salad and it was soooo good. I wish it were a lot closer to where I lived because I'd be there all the time...low side is the parking..of course I'm complaining it's only hawaii, but you have to be careful other than that I will be back ...plus there's a bakery next door that I want to check out!

Sometimes it's good to eat some green. I say that because I'm not a very healthy eater (at all) and because I'm usually opting for whatever is convenient and fast. Yeah, that means eating a lot of french fries. But when I have the time to go and get a salad, my first thought is to go to Aloha Salads. I loooove the cobb salad over there. Just the right amount of everything -- dressing, egg, bacon, what have you . The ingredients look and taste fresh and are so, so good. I really feel like I'm eating a healthy(ish) meal that's worth the value of the money I spent. I'd say the only bummer about Kailua's Aloha Salads is that the parking is a pain the butt butt. Unless you get lucky, it's difficult to score a parking space. I end up driving around the parking lot a few times before I find something. I usually have little to no patience when it comes to a joint with difficult parking, but the situation over at Aloha Salads isn't *too* bad and they're worth it.

We eat here a lot...close to once a week. Fresh soups, sandwiches, and salads. We have tried the following and all are delicious: Tomato soup, pumpkin soup, aloha passion salad, roasted beet salad, grilled steak wrap, humus wrap, roasted turkey sub, vegetarian sub, and Italian sub. The great thing is they commit to the local farmers so your ingredients are local fresh! Not a sit down place but there are tables outside in shopping ctr courtyard.

Just not that impressed with the salads I've tried here. The concept is good, but unfortunately for whatever reason it just doesn't taste that fantastic. The last time I tried the chinese chicken salad...the dressing was not that good, chicken was dry and lettuce was partly browning. One of my friends had the tuna sandwich with fruits and he liked it. I guess it's a hit or miss?

So Yummy! The perfect pick up and take out food. Recommend : -Hummus Pita Wrap- -The Paniolo Salad- The salad are the perfect size to save for later! I would usually get the salad and the wrap...half for lunch and half for dinner! =)

A little pricey but worth it. I like the Ono Ahi salad - with seared Ahi and I substitute cucumbers and bell peppers for the sprouts and mangos (I'm allergic to mangos- so I get papaya dressing instead. Friendly staff- clean inside. Yum yum

First time checking this out and was pretty excited as I love all kinds of salads and what you can do with them. I tried the Satay. The sauce was very tasty, not too thick and pea-nutty and just the right amount of zing to it. A tad spicy, but in a good way. The lettuce/salad part is what dissapointed me. They shredded it so much that it was hard to eat with the fork and not very moist, but dry. To be fair, it could have been the lettuce they use for that particular salad, but ended up eating about 3/4 of it after tiring of fighting it. I will be back to give it one more go with a different salad choice, hope its better.

You know...I was never a really big fan of salads until I tried some of the delectable assortment of salads here. My coworker invited me to join her in eating salad for lunch. I guffawed, salad for lunch? No way! I need me a burger or something with meat to appease my hunger. "Well, some of the salads do have meat you know." So I took a gander at the menu...hmmm interesting. Greens, meats, fruits, and nuts. Well...I like fruits and nuts, and most importantly meat! Soooo...I get there and set my heart on the Ono Island Ahi and the ingredients include seared Ahi, mango, strawberries, green onions, coconuts, beansprouts, and topped off with a mango vinaigrette dressing. Wow that is an interesting mixture of foods! I try it out and I am stunned. It was delicious! I never imagined that the combination of mangos, strawberries, coconuts, and fish would be so yummy. From then on, I was instantly a fan and went on to try other menu items and they were all delicious. However, the Ono Island Ahi holds a special place in my heart. The staff is always cheerful and friendly!

If you are looking for a greener alternative to L&L's kalbi plate (drool) this may be it! They have a variety of options for those looking to get some green food in them - salads, wraps, sandwiches, and the lobster bisque is amazing. They offer a big variety of salads - ones with more veggies or more fruit, asian flair, the classic Cobb or Caesar (the Paniolo is my personal favorite) or they also offer the make your own option which gives the consumer lots of flexibility in case they are picky. The wraps and sandwiches are also delicious as well. All of the ingredients as well as their salad dressings are locally grown and made so it also is nice to support the local farming community. There tends to be a bit of a rush at lunch hour (Mon - Fri) but the wait is never too long. You also have the option of calling in your order prior so you can just pick it up. It is a little pricier then other fast food options that you might find in the area but it won't disappoint and you won't have to feel the overwhelming feeling of guilt after you chow down.

I wish I could have loved this place more because I love the concept-- locally grown, fresh, healthy... But I will have you know there was a side order of baby cockroach in my salad. To be fair we ordered several and they did comp me for that ONE salad. But really....I can't eat a salad with that many toppings and analyze every bite so we just lost the appetite for this joint.

Another staple spot on the island. Fresh ingredients, savory dressings, and a solid assortment of sandwiches in addition to their salads. Stop by and grab a sandwich for the beach, or enjoy a salad in between sightseeing or driving to another part of the island. My personal favorite is the Aloha Passion salad - grapes, apples, walnuts, cranberries, mangoes, and blue cheese. I also recommend the Caprese sandwich with the special Hau'ula vine ripened tomatoes.

Salads seem to be getting smaller. Even though I ask about more greens it's still the same

Good, healthy, expensive. I like that you can create your own salads, and the ingredients are super fresh!! I look forward to coming in for a healthy bite when I don't feel like chopping my own.

Beware of Sickly Sweet Salads & Putrid Chicken I want to like Aloha Salads because healthy, convenient options in Kailua don't exactly abound but their signature salads suck. Ingredients are decent but their dressings tend be terribly sweet glops with no acid to balance out the flavors. I am no fan of CPK but without a doubt their salads are vastly superior to Aloha. Aside from the terrible dressings.. the chicken they ad is horrid, simply horrid... dry, flavorless, unseasoned CAFO chicken breast... my god the chicken makes cold tofu steaks look good. Finally... with the amount of sugar & hidden fats in their dressings I don't think they are really all that healthy in the end. Do yourself a favor... avoid the chicken, stay away from any dressing that hints at sweet ingredients and toss it your self.

I love Aloha Salads ! Amazing Ono Island Ahi with amazing ahi and different fruits like papaya, strawberries, coconut, and other island specialties ! The salads here are amazing with the Pita bread slices they include ! This place is definitely a MUST !

Large salads at large prices. But if you want healthy, its a decent one to go. You can create your own or go off their recommendations. They do have a few soups. There is a Cali Pizza kitchen across the street...they have good salads too.

Friendly staff and delicious fresh food. The portions are not large, but the prices are fair.

The food is really good and fresh, but the customer service could be improved. I came here two times and each time the employees seems to have the attitude of "I'm too good to be here let alone serve you" which annoys me, and that alone makes me want to avoid this place even though the salads and wraps are delicious.

I love Aloha Salads! One of my favs is the Ono Island Ahi with seared tuna, strawberries, mangos and avocado. I love the berries but I'm not such a fan of the texture of mango so they let me sub it out for something else. Everything always tastes fresh, none of that Subway garbage, they source local ingredients. Their cobb salad is delicious too. I'm very picky about salads and this place does them right; they don't drown your salad in dressing or treat you like a rabbit. Someone else left a comment about their "complicated" menu and not wanting an item on a salad.. that's the great thing about Aloha; they'll totally customize your salad to how you want it. Additionally I'm not sure how complicated it could be, it's not rocket science, you just let them know what you want.. So unless you're entirely socially inept you ought to be okay. It's a nice big entree sized salad. Perfect for lunch.

I'm a pretty picky salad eater and by picky I mean I'll find any reason I can to avoid eating salad. Aloha salads although a bit pricey for a salad I actually enjoy eating. There are just so many ingredients that you wouldn't have added if you made it on your own it's almost kind of fun just trying to figure out what's in there. I give it 4 because the prices are a bit high for a salad. Oh and don't underestimate their sandwiches, they are pretty awesome too.

Walked in a few minutes before closing after not being able to decide what to eat. Kailua really is a gastronomic wasteland after about 8 pm on any given night of the week, which has taken some getting used to! However, we were informed by the teenage staff that the grill was "broken", so we couldn't get anything on the menu that included tuna, etc., thusly eliminating almost half of the menu. They were very dismissive--I get it, it's closing time, but if your stated closing time is 9 pm, perhaps you shouldn't close down at 8:50--or you should change your closing time to 8:50. I've been a server/restaurant staffer before, I understand how disheartening it is to have someone come in last minute, but this is a take out place...so it shouldn't be that hard to do your job. I digress. The food quality is bad, I think mostly due the poor attitudes of the people employed there. The lettuce didn't taste very clean, it was cut into enormous pieces, they are stingy with their toppings and everything was sorta lumped together in the middle of the to go container. I wish that I had gone some where else. Not worth it.

one place in oahu that will help you maintain your bikini figure... try the aloha passion with red grapes, apples, walnuts, cranberries, mangoes and blue cheese, recommended with steak. or try the aloha pineapple with strawberries, pineapple, coconut, fresh mint, mandarin oranges and lychee, recommend with shrimp. there are a ton of choices, and you can create your own or get a sub/soup. definitely a great lunch spot!

I'm sorry, but this place just sucks. The only reason I went there is because someone gave me a gift certificate, and the damn salad was so expensive that the $10 gift certificate didn't even cover it. So, you go in, you face this giant, sort of confusing moving menu that's supposed to tell you how to build your salad. You pick your greens (I thought greens were supposed to be green, not brown), you pick your toppings (I wanted tofu, but that's not a topping, that's a protein, and they charge extra for that), you pick your cheese (even though I didn't really want cheese...) and you pick your dressing (which is not supposed to taste like melted sherbet- it was too sweet.) So, then they toss it all together, and add a bottle of water, and it was about $11. A not-fresh very boring salad and water should not cost you more than $10 for lunch. My boyfriend and I split this and we were still hungry after. We went to Elvin's, which is right next door. Be wise, skip the salad, and go straight for the cream cheese donuts and curry vegetable manapua.
