Delicious and visually appealing kalbi, shrimp tempura and madoo with so many tasty sides (vegetables, Kim chee, curry, soup, macaroni salad, jello, etc). The service was fantastic and they ended the meal with carrot cake and jello...perfect meal.
Buffet is so worth it, only 12.99! definitely coming back :)
This restaurant has such a friendly and family-oriented atmosphere. You will always be greeted with a smile! The food is delicious and you can watch certain dishes being prepared by the chef on the television inside. Included with every entree is the all-you-can-eat salad bar complete with seaweed soup and kim chee, just to name a few. It may be a small restaurant in a nondescript strip mall but don't be fooled, your plates will come out looking as if you're dining in a gourmet restaurant. Love this place!

We love this place! Every time we go there everyone is friendly, it's fun and we have a great time! It's a locals hang out, and they always make us feel welcome. We meet so many cool people each time we stop in. Bryan the bartender is awesome! He makes great drinks, he's always serving up snacks and it's always different, cheesy popcorn, chips, meatballs, chocolates, tarts, its always a surprise. He's also a great singer! He's very attentive and anticipates our needs, even helping with a trivia answer. The place has a great atmosphere, super clean, and nicely decorated. They have the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen in a bar! Very well run! Bravo!! Looking for a non touristy place to hang out meet people and have a great time, stop in here! They are also gay friendly, but really just friendly!!
Great bar. Friendly service, didn't realize it was a gay bar at first though nice place for anyone. Great drinks as well!!!
I went into this bar on Easter Sunday around 12:00 - 12:30 p.m., expecting a wonderful friendly experience based on my friend's enthusiastic recommendation. Instead, I encountered this stout unattractive (female) bartender with an equally unattractive demeanor. I asked for a mixed drink and was overcharged - I had to actually show her the drink price menu to show that she overcharged me. She sullenly gave me my refund and said she did not even know about the happy hour prices for 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. Then I waited and waited for my second drink, and then I decided to use the restroom and leave. On my way out, I reluctantly told her "thank you" and she said "you're welcome". Well, I didn't feel very welcome in this bar and I will not be returning.

Amazing food! Had the lunch truck first and just as amazing! This is my second time here both times I have gotten something different. Each time has been amazing! The first time I had the garlic fish and this time had the ahe salad. Both have been so full of flavor and so fresh! Fantastic all around and would recommend to anyone looking for a hidden gem!
Their haupia sweet potato pie was out of this world. My favorite entree was the korean steak salad. Amazing medium rare steak in kimchi vinaigrette. The red curry fish lunch plate was $14.5 which was a bit pricy but yummy. My girlfriend loved the garlic chicken belgian waffle brunch (sundays until 2PM)

This restaurant is our new favorite on the Windward Side. We've been there possibly close to 10 times already (bringing other family members with us on several occasions) and have tried practically every dish on the menu. My favorite dish is the smoked chicken. You can get it as an entree by itself or as a side option with the mushroom ravioli (or you can get tofu or salmon instead of chicken). My wife, sister-in law, and nieces all raved about the mushroom ravioli. The same sauce is usually used on both the ravioli or smoked chicken dishes and all of us absolutely love it. Warning: We have gone for dinner only to find that the smoked chicken is already sold out for the day. There are usually about 3 different types of fish dishes on the menu and we've probably tried them all. We've had the salmon, pan fried opah, and peppercorn-crusted ahi and all were excellent. There are also Thai dishes on the menu. My wife has tried the green curry and said it was really good. We've also tried the pad thai noodles (which are very tasty and very different from the pad thai you get at any typical Thai restaurant) and the Singapore Street Noodles. The Singapore Street Noodles, though very tasty, have a different texture that takes some getting used to. There is usually one standard meat dish on the menu -- such as a flank steak, rack of lamb, or braised short ribs -- although we have yet to try any of these dishes. Another great thing about this place is the unusual side dishes. The first time we ate here, we had no idea what they were and asked Chef Jason for his recommendation. He suggested the quinoa, and we have been ordering it ever since. It has a nice mild curry flavor to it and is a nice change of pace from a scoop of rice. The Okinawan mashed potatoes are also very good. You also have the option of getting pearl barley or couscous as a side, but we like the quinoa and mashed potatoes the best. The only critique we have about this place is a lack of menu for younger kids. The menu does have panini sandwiches -- usually a grilled veggie panini and a pipikaula reuben, and maybe one other alternative. We also went once when there was a version of mac and cheese (with pipikaula) on the menu. Although my wife loved it, she felt it was probably too rich and too sophisticated a taste for younger children. However, the last time we went there were cheeseburger sliders on the menu so maybe they're trying to tweak their menu for younger children. Chef Jason is very nice and will offer his suggestions if you're stuck on the menu.
Just got done with our second meal in two months here, OMG the crab is the best, and my wife's pasta was fabulous, forget any negative reviews, spoiled idiots who wouldn't know good food if bit them on the butt, this place rocks.
This is a favorite restaurant in Kailua! The food is always amazing, made with fresh, local ingredients by their very skilled chef. The waitstaff is friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The mushroom ravoli, green curry, and shrimp scampi are three of our favorites, but you really can't go wrong with anything you order. And it's BYOB!

Yummy! Had best breakfasts on vacation. Moco Loco, and Mahi Mahi were my favs!
Breakfast here for me usually consists of either Eggs Benedict or Loco Moco which are good. I'll try something new the next time I eat here. The service has been excellent everytime. On nice days, I prefer eating outside. Plenty of parking.
I ate here with two girlfriends this morning. I admit I came just for the red velvet pancakes. I'm not a fan of pancakes, (call me crazy) but I'm a HUGE fan of red velvet---and usually consume copious amounts of it in the form of cupcakes (can you say Hokulani Bakeshop?!). We got seated right away...we must have missed the breakfast crowd. I've stood in line here for what seemed like hours on the weekend. Weekday is definitely better in terms of crowd control. Our waitress was perfectly friendly and festive with her lei---I assume to commemorate 25 years of bringing breakfast to Kailuans. The pancakes were the perfect amount and sweetness to be shared (and made it that much cheaper for me!). We didn't actually see these red disked devils on the menu, but thank goodness for YELP, or I never would have known...or added to my already growing gut. I will definitely be back for this indulgence...stick a candle in it and wish me a Happy Birthday!

My sister and I had breakfast here this morning. Usually there's a wait, but I was seated pretty quickly. My sisters great idea was to put laundry in at the laundry mat two doors down so she'd be able to park in their lot since there's only street parking available. They even have a sign at the host stand that says not to park across the street in the old blockbuster parking lot or you could be towed. The waitress came by and I ordered some drinks which she brought a few minutes later. After that I didn't see her for kind of awhile. I wasn't sure if it was because my sister hadn't gotten there yet, but she had told me what to order her so I was ready. It took her 15 minutes to get the laundry situated and walk back over and we still had to wait for our waitress to come back. Meanwhile two other tables had been seated nearby and another waiter checked on one so much it seemed to make them uncomfortable and the other was pretty much ignored and had to get the hovering waiters attention to get him to get her waiter. I really don't understand why you'd have three different servers covering a patio with just five tables, but they did. I think during our whole meal we only saw our waitress four times. Don't get me wrong, she was nice. Just absent. If she was super busy with tables inside they shoulda just had hovering guy cover outside cause he seemed to have a lot of time on his hands. I ordered the honey butter biscuit with eggs and link sausage and my sister ordered the fried rice and Denver omelette. Her food looked great and it was a nice portion. My eggs and sausage were ok, nothing super special, but the biscuit had a sour taste to it. Like there was either too much baking powder or soda. When we got the check the waitress offered to bring me a muffin or toast but I was a little over it. It was an ok spot. I doubt we'll be in a rush to come back. Seemed like your average Kailua haole place where you come to be around other Kailua haoles. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm married to one. But I'd choose Cinamons over here or even wait it out at Boots and Kimos
Waited for a table for 30 minutes only to witness 4 parties who arrived and checked in after us get seated first. I looked at the "board" and my name was in a black box not in the list of the order of seating. Really sad. Felt like because i wasnt the right "color", I didt receive "prefered" service.
Server was absolutely the rudest i have had on the island. #1 rule-never underestimate your patron-i just got done doing a 10 miles mountain hike! #2 eggs no where near being done. Banana pancakes were OK. WONT BE BACK AGAIN.

Great local foods that change daily. TIP: They start to close around 1:30PM & in order to get rid of their food, they pile on the left-overs & sell them for a mere $3.00.
I would sometimes make the drive over the Koolau's to Enchanted Lakes on my day off just to get Blossom's food. I loved their specials, especially when they had ginger pork, adobo, chili, or jambalaya. I knew that I had to be there at least by 10:30 am, or they would start running out of food. The last several times, they were almost completely out of food by then, so I started coming earlier: 10 am, 9:30 am. And even then, they were out of most everything. Couldn't justify making that long drive anymore not knowing if the trip would be for nothing. Other customers that came in then were also disappointed and left. Maybe I'll try them again some day, but for now, I can only give them 3 stars. Too bad, because the food is good, but they just don't make enough of it!
so happy i found this place!!! prices are good and portions are generous. i got the last corn beef hash and it was yummy. this is perfect food to take to Lanikai beach or Kailua beach right down the road which is exactly what we did. i tried my friend's sesame chicken and it was dry so i don't recommend that...get the korean chicken instead. the fried noodles were also good and i liked the chicken long rice too. i think i'll pass on the chicken eggplant next time cuz it was way too sweet. i don't like it when it taste like candy but my friend liked it. the place is kind of hard to find. it's behind Safeways in the strip mall in Enchanted lakes so you have to drive around the back. good thing my cousin lives in Kailua cuz i was looking all over the place for it.

For the longest time I've been going to another coffee establishment until I got a gift card and decided to try this place out. We'll I'm hooked, service awesome, coffee way better than SB.
The service is good but the drinks are Great like it should be. It's conveniently located closed to Kailua beach, not as close as I would want it to be, but close enough haha.
The tea selection is out of this world. Ready made daily iced teas are quick, they can mix flavors for a create your own, or they can brew whatever you desire Personally I ADORE their crushed ice and hope they never change it! Off to grab my personalized tea lemonade mix. Aloha!

Casablanca is more than a great restaurant, it's an experience! I was prepared for something different, but not expecting much from the service due to other reviews. From the moment we got out of the car, we were greeted by Sherry, our waitress who happened to be walking in, stopped and welcomed us before we even made it to the door. We were on time, but knew our party would be late as the traffic on the Pali had been horrendous! It was a week night, so they didn't have many reservations, and she was very understanding. We had one bottle of wine with us and had hoped to have time to stop for more. Sherry suggested a little place around the corner which we walked to and grabbed a second bottle for our party. Sherry brought us a wine opener, wine glasses and water. She then said we should have a little something with our wine and brought us their bread. It was fresh baked, slightly savory, slightly sweet, with the very faint scent of anise. For those of you who don't like anise - no worries! The flavor of this bread is so delicate you'll gobble it down! Waiting for our friends to arrive we were transported off the island to a far away land. I imagine this is how royalty of years passed dined in early Morocco. The walls are covered in carpets, and other rugs are scattered across the floors of three rooms. The ceiling is covered in pleated fabric adorned with Moroccan plates and metal lanterns with colorful glass that cast a beautiful glow. Along the walls are built in couches with pillows with low tables with wood inlaid patterns. On the outside of the tables are large colorful leather bean bags. No these aren't the bean bags you sat on as a teenager. They are like low large sturdy stools. The meal commenced after our friends arrived and we were not disappointed! This is truly authentic Moroccan cuisine! We tried 2 different lamb dishes, several chicken, rabbit, and beef. The sides brought out during the meal are fantastic! There is something for everyone, even my husband who's not the most adventurous one when it comes to food! It's now one of our "go to" places for a group! Save room for the B'stilla! This is a strange sweet meat pastry dish that will delight your senses! The baklava is home made goodness! Wash it all down at the end of your meal with some mint tea and it's one feast that won't punish you for over indulging! If this was just a tad cheaper, we'd be here once a month! A perfect escape to an exciting land without the hassle of traveling!
Easily 5 stars: great decor and ambiance, washing your hands with the warm water while sitting on cushions on the floor takes you out of Hawaii. It's really fun. The food was fantastic. 5 courses (like $37-42 per person) with no need for utensils: Amazing soup (loved it), the salad plate was by far my favorite (tabouli, marinated tomatoes, eggplant (that even my husband liked, hummus and spicey carrots all with bread. It was demolished. Then B'stille (phyllo dough covered in powered sugars and cinnamon filled with minced chicken, almonds, saffron... ). Then the main course. We both ordered lamb (skewers and chops). Both were amazing. Finally dessert (biscotti and chabakkia) and fresh mint tea. There is also some kind of rose water that they pour on your hands and head. That was a shocker. Ha Best part... BYOB with no cork fee. This place is out of a dream. Love it! Btw, I'm sure I messed up the spelling of a lot of these meals but hey I tried. Check it out unless you're super bland taste buds that can't handle delish food.
4 stars is probably pushing it... I think I'd honestly go with 3.5.... but since that isn't an option, I round up. This is a fun and unique restaurant. My husband and I have been here twice so far. The first time was almost a year ago. We went on an awkward double date with another couple who the wife was very much not into trying anything different from the normal Hawaiian cuisine. Which made for a decently odd experience. I really can't base my review off that experience. We went again recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. We must have seemed like alcoholics because we showed up with 4 bottles of wine and champagne in tow. One for each of us! Kidding, kidding, mostly. Food is decent. Honestly the main course and dessert in my eyes are what is lacking. Everything else is awesome! Like everyone has said the menu is a set menu allowing you to choose your entrée. As hubby and I are vegan and another in our party was vegetarian we asked if they had a vegetarian option for their set menu. They did. So our table went that route. I had the couscous with veggies as my entrée. Although this was good, I was a slight bit disappointed in the lack of flavor. All around though the whole meal is quite tasty. Though, I am a dessert person, and I just can't be a fan of the dessert they serve here. Everyone else in my party loved it though. Service is wonderful (Same women both dining experiences). She was very kind about our probably decently loud party and more often then not laughed a bit (Probably a "you got to be kidding me" laugh) as she would serve us and checked in on us. Love the quaint unique atmosphere of the restaurant. Also love the table you sit around - such a good place to come with a group of people who is willing to indulge in something different!

I always forget to go here at the beginning of my vacation and come to it in the end and wish I had gone sooner. I could go there every day! Smoothies, deli and hot bar are all good. I much prefer their smoothies over others available at other chain stores. They also have non-gmo papayas and other local fruits. The other fun find was the local organize kombucha that is in tap. This location has 4 flavors on tap. Mango and ginger were a good combination together which I was able to blend myself at the self serve tap station.
If at all possible, I'd rather shop here than Whole Foods down the street. The staff is way friendlier, the aisles are cleaner and better organized and there is just a very positive vibe to the place. Even the customers who shop here are nicer. Shopping for yummy, healthy groceries should be a pleasant and peaceful experience, not a jam-packed, cut-throat race to the registers. I especially like that they do not sell meat or eggs and that they support local farmers and vendors as much as possible. They even give a discount if you order items by the case. And their frequent buyer program lets you earn points towards credit; you can spend it as you earn it or save up till you are ready to use it. The hot and cold bar rocks, too.
While working in Kailua, Down to Earth was so convenient to picking up some lunch since it was right next door. Despite the fact that it was a little pricey, it felt great knowing the fact that I was eating organic food. I tried their mock chicken salad wrap that I saw on Yelp before coming here and it was DELICIOUS! I couldn't believe that something so healthy could taste SO good!! They have a hot bar as well, and I picked up a breakfast burrito to try one morning which was just as yummy! I actually wanted to try a slice of their pizza which were pretty huge, but I never got a chance to do so.
