Recently went back, and the food was actually better. The quality of the food has gotten a lot better. There is an employee by the name of Miller who worked at one of the cooking areas. He was very friendly and personable! this is the type of employees needed, as he kept me engaged and made great suggestions on what to try.

An "all you can eat" sushi buffet? Huh, you made huge mistake by letting me in here. I can see it in the waiter's eyes. I have a feeling that there is going to be some hesitation before they let me back in this place again. I can damn near eat my body weight in sushi. In any case, there is not a huge variety of types of sushi. Though must admit the unari sushi being done a sort of California Roll and adopting Spicy Tuna to it are both interesting ideas. I did like them. But keep in mind that sushi isn't the only stuff they offer. Time and how empty your stomach is is your only limiting factor.

Yes I agree happy hour is the bomb! Loads of food for a great price! 4$ glasses of wine all if you sit at the bar area! Pretty amaze balls! Will be back again! Plus shopping tipsy is the best lol

So all the reviews for both the "tsukiji restaurant" and "tsukiji lounge" are all just about the food. So I guess this is the appropriate place to write about the nightclub? So this place used to be one of my favorite nightclubs. Basically, the dance floor is not to small where you are bumping into people, and not to large that on an off night it just seems ridiculous. Another plus is drinks are not watered down, although not cheap. A downside is that even when they do take song requests, they don't seem to take the request as seriously as some other places. Went here a few weeks on a Saturday night, and they are closed down? Hopefully they will reopen the Sat night at this place. 365 Challenge: #87/365

Go for happy hour. Prices are right, and the atmosphere is pretty good. Been here several times for the Groupon Lounge Deal - I think its $33 for $70 worth of stuff. Includes pitcher of draft beer and something like 4 different food items. Sure, the food isn't 5 stars quality stuff, but decent enough and definitely worth the $33 that you paid for the groupon. We usually get a group of 6-7 of us and use the groupon and add a few happy hour accompaniments and its plenty of grub. We can usually get out of there for $50-60 in addition to the groupon for our group, happy and well fed. Guess that's why its called "happy" Hour, right?

Great Happy Hour Prices. Heineken $3.00 and the whole menu prices is about 40% off. Can't go wrong. Had the groupon deal, so we had the garlic chicken, spicy ahi roll, hawaiian nachos, chinese chicken salad and a pitcher of beer. I would say the garlic chicken and nachos were the best. Spicy roll is the same as the buffet side. If the girlfriend/wife is shopping, just stop here to get a drink or three while eating some pupus and watching the games on TV. Good spot after work or just to pregame for the night ahead.

Happy Hour at its finest! Well prices can't be beat for the portions we got when we went on a Thursday night. It was around 530ish that the 3 of us arrived and there were a few tables open so we didn't have to wait. We sat ourselves down til a waiter helped us. As we were offered water, one of my friend got a cup of water that had something sticky on the outside. Although the waiter had replaced the water, they should be more aware of what they're serving before they give it to the customers. 1st impressions are always whats sets the experience for any restaurant. Anyways, we then ordered off of the happy hour menu and noticed how decently price they were so we pretty much ordered with our eyes and got: Kim Chee Fried Rice, Garlic Chicken, Edamame, and Ahi Poke. When the food arrived, we were surprised of how big the portions were and had to question again if these were from the happy hour menu. The chicken was definitely our winning entree of the night. It was like a mini party platter with the amount of chicken that was given. The Kim Chee Fried rice was mediocre. Edamame and Fries were your typical bar food starters and Ahi Poke entree with nachos was decent. Overall, can't go wrong with the prices and portions they offer here during happy hour. They also have specials on drinks. We mostly ordered wine for $5 a glass. Location is convenient since it's in Ala Moana Center and a decent place to just hang out and walk around the mall after. I believe groupon offers good deals from time to time as well if you want more for your savings and have bigger group gatherings.

Love the location, since it's at the mall and can easily meet up with friends after shopping. 1st few times I really enjoyed Happy Hour here and raved to friends to meet here, but as months has passed I've noticed the quality of the food served has gone down. Used to rave about the portions when they first opened, but for example the fries have been switched to regular versus wedges and the portion has become much smaller, clam broth is watery, and the spicy ahi in the Asian Nachos have really diminished - to be honest mostly everything has been cut into half the serving it used to be. Also used to love the Happy Hour cocktail specials - now list doesn't have any drinks that would appeal to many mainly the ladies. Not sure what happened, but I hope they bring back Happy Hour as we all knew it. Used to be a regular, but now hesitant to have my get together with friends there. And for those who haven't been to Tsukiji's don't waste your $$ on the Groupons - you can get more out of your money and with your choice for the same amount.

The Lounge Happy Hour is absolutely great! Never had an unfriendly staff member either! Great food and low prices at happy hour! Large portions as well.

All I can say is oooooyyeeahh during the happy hour, the price is awesome, I will upload the menu. I ordered the aged rib-eye steak and it came out on a sizzling hot plate. It is so good, but only if you like teriyaki sauce (I do). it was only 8 bucks! and the deep fried calamari is only $5!! It was a lot! where in Ala Moana shopping center can you get an entree for $5?? the place was nice, and the bartender double up as waitress and server :) my bartender was super nice and cool! I will come back!!

This was my first time joining a group of happy hour regulars and my experience is just for the lounge experience during happy hour, specifically at the bar. For the prices and portion sizes offered, I have to say that I'm a big fan of this place and the deals offered. I would probably skip the assorted sushi dish because this was simply pieces from the buffet, which means it was heavy on the rice and skimpy on the fish. I half expected that though so I wasn't shocked, definitely would get my sushi elsewhere though. The spicy ahi rolls and the spicy ahi nachos were fantastic though, the nachos were HUGE and for the price I don't think you could beat the quality and quantity given. I might have to say that the spicy ahi nachos are probably the best happy hour value from any establishment I've been to in recent years. You must order this if only to just watch eyes pop at the size of the thing! Drinks were tasty, the deals were great... just skip the nigiri and focus on the other items. Definitely will be back here again soon!

First time coming here to meet friends for happy hour. Their happy hour menu is pretty good and prices make it even better. There was only 1 wait staff to serve us, I don't know if they were short but it took a very long time before we got served. We actually had to get attention of waiter to order, otherwise we wouldn't of gotten happy hour prices. They were nice and gave us the deal. The garlic chicken was weird tasting?!? It was like deep fried chicken pieces drowning in sauce that didn't even taste like garlic? Sizzling steak would've been awesome but that to was drowning in a sauce. Gyoza and ahi with won ton chips was awesome and the best tasting. Their specials all ran out so next time I'm going earlier. Since there was only 1 waitstaff, beer came out very very slow. Waiter was so busy often times forgot our order but it wasn't his fault. Will be going back to try other items on menu and of course happy hour!

This place looks pretty decent from the outside - and mind you, it's not terrible - but the quality of food definitely does not match up to the price point. Thank goodness we went during Happy Hour though, or I would've given this place 1 star. FOOD Asian Nachos: Cool concept. You get a heaping mountain of fried wonton wrappers, the 'chips', loaded with lots and lots of... "garlic aoli" which is essentially mayo. I loved eating the crispy chips, but there was barely any pico de gallo or tuna as promised in the discription. I would say only 10% of the toppings were tuna or pico de gallo and 90% was sauce. Totally not worth it, especially if you're paying full price (I think it's $14). I'm already letting go of the fact that there is no guacamole or beans or green onion or anything, but seriously? I don't want to just eat fatty mayo. Great to share though, if you have lots of people, because you do get a lot of chips. Spicy Shrimp: The spicy sauce was pretty good, but tasted like something you can just make at home. I think I've actually made a sauce that tasted similar at home before. The shrimp was cooked well, so overall no complaints, but I would've been disappointed had I paid full price. I think it was $15 or something. OVERALL You might like this place if you've never had decent Asian food before, or if you're only coming for Happy Hour with a bunch of friends, but I wouldn't recommend it. Just save yourself and go to Bubba Gump next door.

SAW A HUGE RAT ON THE BAR! Was quite large, looked quite plump and well fed. Had a groupon for a Tsukiji Lounge Experience. Came with plenty of food and a pitcher of beer. 15 minutes till closing, My friends and I spotted a large rat running on the counter behind the bar. As we pointed it out, it ran behind the bottles of liquor, up the side of the wall onto te TV and crawled along the cable to the ceiling area behind the bar. If we had seen this prior to eating, we probably would have been more hesitant eating the food.

Had dinner last night at Tsukijis Ala Moana. About three hours later I suffered bad abdominal cramping and all that goes with that. Thought it would be my civic duty to call establishment and let them know that they might have a problem with food source or prep. Wasn't looking for rewards, just trying to do the right thing. What I was met with was cold indifference and the repeated "food poisoning takes 12-24 hours to take effect". A little sympathy, empathy, and a reassurance that they will look into supply dates and prep. Would have made me feel better. This interaction has just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

We were here for Happy Hour last night. There's a bar and multiple LCD televisions to watch sports. I really love the service there because they are very friendly and attentive to your needs. Pupus are half off and always delicious. Portions are also huge for its happy hour price. My favorite from here was the garlic chicken and ribs. Prior visit, the sizzling steak was delicious and is recommended to get when your there. Beer is always cold and served at good prices. I only wished that they still have those spicy Asian nachos back on the menu instead of having to buy a groupon for it. Overall, this place is the bomb and definitely coming back again for pau Hanas, etc.

Stopped off at Ala Moana the day before Valentines day hoping to get something to eat and ldrink. Macaroni Grill's bar was slammed so over I went to Tsukiji's lounge area. There were some tables open but since I was alone I choose to sit at the bar as it was wide open. Ordered a bottle of their house soju which was okay, served cold and pleasantly smooth. Perused the menu offering and settled on the spicy poke bowl, bartender said it was a new item so figured I'd give it a shot. Since it was happy hour the poke bowl was less than $10, the menu did say limited quantities so I guess I was early enough. The serving size was quite large, fish tasted fresh even through the spice and mayo dressing. They also had fresh sliced onions mixed in which gave it some crunch and texture. Overall it was good, satisfied my hunger and got a little soju to chase it down. When I looked behind me there appeared to be another bar which is hard to spot when you enter..I assume one could choose to sit there as well but I don't recall if there were any tv sets..I'll have to go back and see if I can sit at that bar.

Always trust your first instinct. When I first saw the Groupon for Tsukiji, I hesitated buying it since the offering didn't sound so enticing. However, I bought it since it included a pitcher of Heineken that I thought my husband would enjoy. Well, six months later, the Groupon was going to expire, but my husband still didn't find the time to go. I went with my brother, who is not a beer drinker. We were going to forgo the beer and hope to enjoy the food. The Groupon included Asian chicken salad, nacho, chicken karage (ran out, so they gave us Spicy shrimp) and two spicy tuna roll for $33. All the food taste and look like yesterday's leftover from their buffet. There were barely any chicken in the chicken salad, the nacho was mostly just chips, the shrimp was almost rotten (previously frozen of frozen). Really, I am very disappointed.

okay, I'll admit I love to come here on happy hour for their soju and hite combo but they were out of hite so I got a lilikoi Mojito which was a Mojito and good and minty but I didn't taste lilikoi. we ordered our usual garlic chicken which Is yummy but the asian nachos... it's deep fried chips were so greasy. and they literally showered the whole thing in MAYO. I did not enjoy how greasy it was eating spoonfuls of mayo but I did it because the spicy ahi (which wasn't spicy) was okay. we ate around the chips and I tried to avoid the mayo and we were left with a mountain of fried wonton. maybe if it was only mayo no greasy wonton or the other way around it could've been tolerable. but I had that greasy queasy feeling inside after you eat something that's greasy in the wrong way; if you know the feeling then don't order that. the garlic chicken is good though, I recommend them for happy hour just the plates are huge, get one thing, and don't get fancy hahha.

We were really disappointed with the service and the menu when we went there on Monday night 8/10/15. My husband made reservations 2 weeks in advance, in person, because he was told that on Mondays, they served king crab legs AND wagyu beef. Well, they didn't! He planned this for my birthday and invited some of my family who LOVES king crab! What an embarrassment! When talking to the manager, he was condescending and told us, #1, they NEVER sold wagyu beef and said he was there from DAY 1and tried to tell us that that was a top grade beef (like we didn't know) and #2, That he could give us a SMALL discount for the misunderstanding. Why even insert the word SMALL in there? Especially since BOTH my husband and I both said we weren't eating because mainly, no KING CRAB! We were EMBARRASSED in front of our guests who expected king crab ! Kitchen manager was more apologetic to us! Not going here anymore!

This restaurant is very unorganized and rude. They have no care for their customer's time and schedule. We came here on a Sunday at 3:40pm to get a table for the lounge at 4pm when the gigantic sign outside the window says they open DAILY. 4:05 comes around and they still haven't opened the door. At this point there are a lot of angry and hungry people waiting outside and apparently Tsukijis just decided that because of a high volume of reservations made for the buffet, they are gonna close the lounge today without any prior notice. How can you do that to all the people waiting outside and not let them know?! No sign saying they're closed, nothing. Had we not asked what was going on, we would have been sitting there even longer for nothing. Thank you for wasting our time!!!!!

I've only been here for the Happy Hour that runs from (3pm-7pm). I think the prices during Happy Hour are pretty good deals. What I liked about the place is that whenever we go, it is never really busy. I've tried the: - Asian Nachos - ($6) Happy Hour and ($11) regular - I like to order this because it is very filling. It's fried wonton with spicy ahi and lomi tomato, with sweet chili and tobiko aioli. It really has that asian zing to it. I love it! - Spicy Buffalo Wings ($5) HH and ($9) regular - These weren't too spicy in my opinion, and I am someone who cannot handle too much spicy food. This is also served with some celery sticks. - Herb Garlic Steamed Clams ($8) HH and ($14) regular - This dish was delicious and hits the spot! It is also served with toasted french bread, which tastes great when dipping into the garlic buttery broth in which the clams are steamed in. I don't remember what else I've tried, but I recommend going during their 4 hour happy hour time! I've never been when it was extremely busy, so the service was good and the food came out pretty fast. I did hear that they were changing their happy hour menu, I am not certain, but they might have mentioned taking the shrimp out of the HH menu. Regardless, you guys should check it out!

We bought the groupon to try this place out mostly just because they had Asian nachos and we are obsessed with trying every nacho dish on the island. We were surprised at the huge portions! Everything that came out was delicious. The garlic chicken was some of the best I have had. The Chinese Chicken Salad had a dressing with a kick to it and I could not get enough. The nachos were innovative and tasty on crispy wonton chips. Not your typical nacho in any sense, but yummy nonetheless. There was plenty of seating and our waiter, Taylor, was friendly, fast and helpful. All the food in the Lounge is 50% off during happy hour which I believe was 4pm to 8pm. Even at regular prices, you get a lot of food for you $$, but during happy hour, it is a steal! Check them out next time you want to go to pau hana with some friends..

Okay, so this was the first time I've been here. You know how first impressions are important, well it is, because I'm not sure if I could recommend happy hour here. I was just not impressed at all. I came late to meet my friends and the food were ordered so I ate what was there and ordered a glass of chardonnay. Food was okay, nothing to be jumping up and down. Happy hour drinks selection were small and the service was minimal. When I say, minimal, it meant, I was taking empty plates to the bar so we could make room for our big party. It's a pet peeve of mine. When there's a large party, I'd like the get some extra room on the table if the food is done. I don't expect spectacular service but at least clear out the plates. And come with a smile when you check up on us. So I won't be back for awhile. Let's allow things to settle and give each other some space and maybe I'll give you another try someday.

Ahi Belly is so yummy and portion is humongous for what they charge. Happy hour Heineken $3...wow!!! Not too mention Taylor n Carissa did an excellent job taken care of us!!! Highly recommends this place! !

When I go here its pretty good. The fact I love Japanese food and the fact is its very diverse in sushi and other dishes. I think its a bit pricey but for what you can get it will be worth it if they expanded their dessert selections.

I usually don't give 1 star ratings, or bash on a business...but my ONE and only experience here was horrible. Ok ok, that was mean. The service/bartenders were on their A game. I got my drinks on a timely manner. The music was good, and my friend got me on the guest list so I didn't have to pay to enter. However....after just 3 vodka/sprites, and one shot of grey goose from guy in the VIP area my boyfriend found myself being held up by another person. (& no, I am not a light weight) From then, my night was over and all my friends (including myself) came to the conclusion that I was probably roofied that night. No, I am not blaming Tsukiji's for me accepting a shot from random stranger, but I am saying that their security should be a little more tight. My friend told me that he saw 2 girls putting pills in their champagne that night I got roofied. I understand this world is corrupt but thank god nothing more happend then an embarrassing fall, and horrible morning. Still to this day, I remind my girlfriends to be careful and NOT to go to Tsukiji's for a fun time. Sorry guys.

They have Happy Hour from 3-7PM which I think is generous. Order the Kauai hamburger slider and thank me later! I believe happy hour price for a plate of 3 sliders was $5, had it twice now and it was really delicious both times. I'd recommend the wings too. The other dishes I tried-Asian nachos, Dynamite shrimp, coconut shrimp, were okay.

Got there about 5:45 p.m. on a Thursday night and the place was pretty packed. Sat at the bar and the bartender and all the servers were nice and polite. Food offerings were pretty good. We tried Kauai sliders - $5, Poke - $6, Fried rice - $4, Steak - $8, Crab cakes - $6, Asian Nachos (only thing that was just so-so), soy beans - $3 and a couple of other things. Four of us with drinks, tab was $68. DEALS!

Food was great! And prices were very good. Ordered the Asian Nachos, Fried Rice, Kalbi and Edamame. All were different but extremely delicious. The Edamame with sweet chili sauce and shiso we superb! The only downfall with my experience was the service was horrible. We got seated very quickly, which is ALWAYS a plus! However once we got seated the experience started to go downhill. We sat there for about 20-30 minutes without receiving any menus or being greeted by anyone. Servers would tend to tables around us but no one stopped at our table. After realizing that we have waited way to long, we needed to ask someone for a menu and waters. After that we still needed to wait for a bit for someone to come around so we could place our order. Food came out in a timely manner. During our meal water was refilled twice! But, when we were done with our meal, we just sat there for another 30+ minutes and no one came around to check on us nor ask us if we needed boxes. After flagging someone down we received our boxes, and then needed to wait for our bill. The staff there was so inattentive to us that we could have walked out without paying, however we again had to flag our server. After talking to a busser, it wasnt just our table that was not being served in a timely manner. Hopefully, the day I went was just not their best day service wise. Overall, I would recommend Tsukijis based on their prices and food. However, service was just lacking. Having work experience in a restaurant, guests should not have to constantly wait and flag someone down to be assisted.

For the weekly happy hour together, it was here. Took up the entire bar area. What Jeremy and I ordered: Fried Gyoza, Sweet & Spicy Edamame, Kim-Chee Fried Rice, Pupu Rib-eye Steak ( instagram.com/p/eY5oqnHt… ), and Spicy Tuna Roll They were all alright. Jeremy had asked our server though to take back the fried rice. I guess it was junk. Forgot to mention, since he hardly ate it, they didn't charge it on our check. Our server was a bit slow, or just didn't bother to acknowledge us until later on that evening. So ordering and receiving our food took a while. Um, what else to say? I wouldn't want to come back for regular price, happy hour... maybe.

This place was BOMB! My boyfriend and I went to use a Groupon that I bought. We underestimated how large the portions of food would be! With the Groupon, we got a pitcher of beer (we chose Heineken), garlic chicken, Chinese Chicken Salad, two Spicy Ahi rolls, and Poke Nachos! All were pretty good. Spicy Ahi rolls pack a punch! My fave was the Poke Nachos (I probably could've ate a whole plate myself lol). Good food, awesome service, chill vibe. Would def come back for Happy Hour!

Went to this place using a groupon. They served a shit-ton of average food - Asian chicken salad, garlic chicken and Asian nachos. This was the worst place we ate all vacation, if I could take it back I would.

We have been here 5 minutes and were just approached. We ordered the dynamite shrimp, Asian five spice calamari, and Parmesan truffle fries! However, due to the tardiness of updating the review none of these exist for the happy hour. Now the place is just, eh? Higher prices and lower quality food. We would definitely go elsewhere for Happy Hour, however, to be fair I heard their seafood buffet is good.

Servers were really nice, hence the 2 stars. The food was subpar at best. We ordered a bunch of things off the happy hour menu and everything tasted the same. Old and over cooked seasoned with shoyu, sugar, garlic. So disappointing.

Huge place.. $3 Heinekens drew me in .. the happy hour food was not memorable or worth going back.. cruised the buffet and it looked ok.. but a lot of stuff sitting around but I am sure the tourists like it.. dance club on some weekend nights is said to be good but I wonder how dangerous all those kids driving and drinking. The best thing is that there is plenty parking at Ala Moana. Rather go Mai Tai Bar which is outside and has music.

Redeem my 1 of 4 Tsukiji's Fishmarket Lounge Groupon voucher. The Lounge is located on the immediate right side as you walk into the main entrance. Happy Hour starts from 3-7pm with prices starting from $3 for the steamed edamame with thai chili sauce to the $8 Sizzling Char Broiled Rib Eye with Asian soy butter sauce. I enjoyed the calamari with the 3 sauces, blue crab artichoke dip on french toasted bread and the sizzling rib eye steak. Friendly service from the waitress and bartender who helped with the orders and serving the customers seated at the tables. I look forward coming back and will have to try the Kauai Hamburger Sliders.

Prices are fair and the portions are large, but the food just was not that good and they were out of many, many things the night we were there. The chicken seemed to be almost all dark meat, even on the salad, which is not my thing and was not mentioned anywhere on the menu. The space is nice, and the open air above you as you exit the restaurant is novel for those not from HI or CA, but unless you are really a lover of dark meat I would probably go somewhere else.

Sorry guys.

Used a groupon here. Had asian fusion nachos (cold, no ahi, not great) and crabcakes (fishy, not great either). Drinks were ok. Pick another place @ ala moana.

I wouldn't want to come back for regular price, happy hour... maybe.
