Its taco bell...so i cant say much However the staff at this particular one are ALWAYS cheerful. Im the one who always buys for coworkers so either things get bagged separately, or im paying for different orders...thyre always happy and dont complain about it so thats a plus!! Also theure always fast and despite what many people say i havent gotten my orders mixed up! 4 stars!!

Despite the mediocre reviews this Taco Bell has gotten I actually find that I get good service here. Every time I order they are always smiling and look like the have a good time. Only reason I take off a star is because the drive thru window is on the passenger side which is slightly inconvenient.

I went inside this Taco Bell, honestly expecting it to be ghetto-ER than usual. it was really nice! my most pleasant Taco Bell experience. the young man was just friendly and pleasant and generous on the sauces. the drive through is another story. the lady couldn't understand what I was saying for the life of me, and the drive through is built wrong! your passenger will have to hand over the money and get the food, otherwise pull up real close and put it in park.

  • Marisa T.

Somehow they always manage to forget to put something in my bag...so Ive become accustomed to double checking what they hand over because it most likely will be missing something. If you dont come here for the food, check this place out for the only wrong way drive-thru on the island. lol. Thats right, you will have to put your car in park and reach over to grab your order because the serving window is on the right side of the car. Doritos locos: Ive tried both the nacho and ranch flavors. The nacho wins by far.

I used to come to this Taco Bell as a child. My mom would take me here as a treat because this was my favorite fast food restaurant at the time. Fast forward decades later and the place is still the same! Still got the old school bell near the roof, same building structure and the only fast food chain on the planet with a wrong way drive thru! Try putting your car in park and reaching over the passenger seat to get your food through the screwed up drive thru window! Besides the messed up drive thru, the place is ok. It's clean, service is fast enough and the food comes out fine.

One day, I had a hankering for mexican food. So what do I do? Run to the border, of course. However this border ain't Mexico, but happens to be on the border between Kalihi and Kapalama. I place my order through the speaker in the drive thru and move on to the next window. As I pull up, I ask myself "why is this drive thru backwards?" Is it because I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and entered the "Bizarro World"? For those who have visited this location, the drive thru window is on the right side. As I make the stretch to the passenger seat to pay and grab my food, all I am thinking is I should have carjacked the mailman this morning before I came to this drive thru. In the moment of confusion, I forgot to check that they failed to give me taco sauce. Lesson of the story: Bring a co-pilot or grow a longer right arm before I return this drive thru.

  • Nathan N.

Generic Mexican fast food. But hey, it's delicious, quick and cheap. This location has a funky drive-thru window. As you pull up it's on your right. That's right. You have to jump into your passenger seat if you're solo. LOL!!

  • Racquel S.

Mexican food is always hard to find here but this place I can never get tired of, I mean cheap imitation Mexican food is always a plus! Its fast and easy to eat nothing too complicated, but its not the real thing, so when you want something fast just head to taco bell! I recently discovered the POG SLUSH! o-m-g seriously I love it!!! I heard about this devilish slush and it is really the devil, :P it is so addicting. I usually like to get the steak chalupa but now they have a diet menu which is a plus! :) The only thing weird about it is that the drive through window is on the passengers side and it is always a hum-bug to get the food if you don't have any passengers, so quick tip is to bring someone with you unless you have really long hands that stretches all the way to the window!

  • Mike H.

Ghetto. They only gave me 2 napkins. Wtf

  • Kimberly L.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this drive-thru has a very backwards drive-thru. The day we came there was a girl standing towards the passenger guy to collect money and have us pay to her, then she passes it onto the window. Sometimes, I'm just craving fake mexican and want Taco Bell. Sue me. I like their crunchwrap supreme. I don't know why, I punish myself. Their food isn't cheap, and quality is ehhh. But it's so naughty and filling lol. Food was subpar. Service wasn't bad. I wish they weren't so pushy while I'm trying to order. PS to Taco Bell maybe putting a menu a when you first drive in so drivers can check out what to order before getting up to the order station.

    (3)
  • Randy M.

Weired drive through. It's on the "wrong side". In other words the transactions are handled through the passenger side. Hope you have company. If not then they have an employee standing outside reaching into your car to help with the transaction. Umm ok. The inside seems pretty clean for the most part but could stand to have someone come out & wipe down the tables quicker. Other then that, the employees are courteous & try to get you your food fast.

I honestly have to say that I LOVE TACO BELL!!! But the service here makes me never wana eat here again. I come here quite often, and I always order a simple meal but it never fails that every time I go here they are always messing up my order The people that work here are not polite at all, they always have an attitude about everything. Never nice and understanding, they seem like they don't wana help you, but if that's the case don't work for customer service if you are going to act like that. You are there to serve the customer, not give the attitude. I think there drive-thru is so backwards, makes no sense that they made it like that. &then when you get to the window to pay and get your food they come off the drive-thru so you have a small space to drive.

  • Robin D.

I've had extremely bad service here in the past and I mean EXTREMELY bad to where the girl taking the orders at the drive thru got sassy with us but we still go back; you know 'cause we crave Taco Bell sometimes. Tonight I ordered the Grilled Stuft Nacho and was disappointed. I was already almost done eating it and didn't get one bite of beef yet. It was fall apart flimsy that I had to fold it in half to eat. It didn't look like the advertisement picture. Damn you advertisement picture!!!! Haha on a positive note though the cashier and the girl that handed me my order was nice. Tip: if going through drive thru make sure you bring someone along because their drive thru is backwards. Unless you have long arms

Lauralyn is rude. When we come here weekly and drop 60 bucks or more a visit to feed the fam and she wanna talk about "if it's more than 15 sauces we have to charge".. Girl we got multiple meals and you think fifteen is enough... Lolo.. I asked for a "hanful" she replied "that is a handful"... Just rude... If you hate your job that much go get a new one. Calling corporate too.

If I could negative star this I would. Horrible customer service. Mom and I went here to grab dinner for the family, after going up to the drive thru speaker to order right from the get go it was bad, ordered tacos and pizza and the girl said I had to go in to order it? What!? So I asked if I could order here and pay, then wait for it to be done, inside, she said yeah but you have to come inside. well yeah! I just said that. Mom and I go in to wait for our food, the manager NOVA, looks at mom and I, and says oh look they're mad, to her employees. I know the policy Taco Bell has because I USED to work there and no where does it say, "please talk bad about our customers". I wasn't mad when we went in, but I was when that happened. Taco Bell Waiakamilo, please double check who you promote to Manager, they forgot how to Treat customers.

Taco Bell always has a nostalgic place in my heart but more than any other fast food chain it vastly varies location to location even in the same area. By far this the worst one in Honolulu I have been to. Besides standard Oahu business standard of dirty as hell and rude staff been a long time since I have been to a Taco Bell that routinely skimps on the fillings. I know Taco Bell has been cutting sizes for years now and managers are always in the staff about food waste and cost but been to this location a couple times and without fail it's averaging about 20% under ever the published weight (I got a food scale). If you are craving Taco Bell just drive ten more minutes to another one, avoid this one at all cost.

YO! WHERE IS MY CHICKEN? Once in a great while I would go to Taco bell with my coworker. I used to eat taco bell almost every weekend back in college because it was the closest fast food place to my house in Oregon. But now I just go when my coworker chooses to go here. I actually enjoy taco bell for their food, even if it is a franchise, so I am not going to be judging this place on their food. I am going to rate them on customer service (1), presentation (1), time (1), location (1) and accuracy (1). Customer Service: From the take out window at night, they are a bit slow. They seem to lag while taking my order. It is nice that they always suggest a specialty, but I just ordered what I wanted so maybe they should ask before I ordered a million things. On the inside, they seem to always rush me. If I am not standing near the register and I am way in the back (behind the line dividers) then I am obviously not ready. I then I have two different people shouting "are you ready sir?" If I was ready would not be tilting my head back trying to ready the menu. Also, they always seem to yell while taking my order, like hello I am in your face! Presentation: 60% of the time the food is messy, cheese not all wrapped in my soft taco, my cantina bowl all slumped to one side, when I open my taco all the ingredients are not even spread out evenly. So I will take a bite of sour cream only, then the other side I will get all beans. They need to slow down and make things better. Time: They are very fast in making their food (which explains the lack in presentation) Location: It is in a pretty bad area. It has one entrance that is only easily accessible from a right turn. The main street is busy so it's hard to take a left. The parking lot is very small with small parking stalls. The entrance also serves as an exist and it's very tight for a two way traffic. The drive thru window is on the left side of your car, so it is really hard to use when you are driving alone. Accuracy: They seem to forget something I ordered every other time. They forgot my chicken twice in my CHICKEN CANTINA BOWL! Does it look like I'm a vegetarian? They would forget my sour cream in my 5 layer burrito. They forget to give me spoons or forks for my foods. Sometimes I have to ask for a straw because they must assume I have them in my car. I just feel like they forget a lot. Overall, they live up to the title FAST FOOD! But you get what you go for. Your food will come fast, but fastly done. I would totally suggest that they slow it down by like 5 seconds. It only takes seconds to scoop the precooked chicken onto my salad. It only takes seconds to grab me a fork or straw. It only takes seconds to make sure all my cheese is in my taco. Honestly, these few seconds will make a big difference on how this place will be perceived. This place gets a 1 for being quick! I am hoping to make an updated on this place and re-rate them.

The drive thru on the wrong side is a joke. And for a fast food Restraunt, that's a very bad joke.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes.
