Subway restaurants anywhere in Hawaii should have the same basic consistency. $6 footlongs when they are $5 on the mainland. What the heck is up with that? That's the only problem I have with Subway. Moving on, I normally come to this Subway when I am killing time in Kahala Mall and need something healthy in my belly. Subway's my go to place for all things healthy on a budget. While I do frequent Whole Foods and Down to Earth plenty of times, nothing is easier and faster than buying at Subway. Granted that there is good choices at DTE or WF, I enjoy the quick in and outs of Subway, since its easy to get to since they have locations all over the place - like Starbucks. I particularly like this Subway, since it's inside the Kahala Mall shopping complex, versus the other Subway location, which is in a next door collection of businesses, anchored by the Greek restaurant @ 4164 Kilauea Avenue. I was thrilled when this Subway came into the mall, since they accept plastic, versus the other one (at the time) was cash only. Since 2010, they did switch to credit cards, but I don't go there anyways. This one inside the mall is better, comparatively. This location is larger, relatively clean, and has a seating area in the back. It's nice to be able to eat your sandwich in that corner of Subway, rather than finding space in the mall - next to Pac Sun or near center stage / Starbucks. The overall service is what you would expect from Subway. Order your sandwich and tell them what you want on it. Pay and leave. They never mess up my order, since I have to tell them blow by blow, if they forget to add a vegetable or two. Yes!! extra onions!! Nooo jalepeno! No no! Banana peppers, yes! Plenty! Pepper and oregano to seal the deal. Most days I will get the $6 footlong, since it is the cheapest of the bunch. I do love the Subway footlong of the month deal they are peddling around, although some months the subs they promote aren't all that, so I just go to my old standby: footlong ham + cheddar cheese. Glad they have the shredded cheddar here, although if they didn't I normally experiment with pepper jack or American cheese. Overall, this Subway is a good, convenient one to have when you want to get your Subway addiction on. Subway! Eat Fresh! B+

This is for the location INSIDE KAHALA MALL and I would give this location absolutely ZERO stars if I could. Went in there starving for lunch. Ordered a foot long sandwich to eat 6 inches for lunch and 6 later. KNOWING I would eat the other 6 inches later,I asked for LIGHT oil and vinegar. The girl behind the counter was really squeezing it on and I told her hey, that's alot of vinegar ease up. I mean it looked like my sandwich would have been soaked. SHe didn't give a rats ass - just said "Oh, it'll be fine" and then wrapped it up. I told her "Well see". Being hungry, I let it go. I should NOT have. I was right, when I got back to my office, the bread was soaked it was totally inundated with vinegar and I just spent nearly 10 bucks on a sandwich that I HATED. Here' s tip: HIRE people who actually CARE about how they make the sandwiches and serve the public. I'm NEVER coming back and I will let others know about the crappy service and poor attitude.

I used to work at kahala mall so I went here quite a bit. I've got to say this is one of the best subways I've gone to on the island. They're right by cookie corner, which is nice. They have tons of seating and I really enjoy their laid back, relaxing and clean atmosphere. It's really enjoyable especially for break. Great customer service, fresh veggies, and moderately efficient. They don't take forever but they're not the speediest. I guess that depends on who's making your sandwich though. One girl was extremely slow and a guy was super fast... I love that the place is really clean. They have the $5 special which is what I always get, but the rest of the items can get a tad bit pricier than the norm. They don't have much in store specials either. They do water cups. And nice about that. They also don't complain if you want extra veggies. Definitely one of my favorite subways on island

This place is so horrible. If I could have I would have given this place NO STARS AT ALL.. I went in and got the foot long turkey breast with add on bacon. What the girl did was half the bread and added only 4 PIECES OF TURKEY MEAT TOTAL.. it didn't occur to me what happened till the end when my friend mentioned about the sandwich being so small. Then I went back and asked, didn't I get the turkey+bacon. And they said yes, when you have 2 choices of meat, they only add 8 pieces of meat all together on the sand which. Then I said, didn't I get the turkey breast PLUS THE ADD ON BACON. The workers HAD to look over the menu AGAIN.. and they couldn't say anything.. all I wanted was my sand which.. is that so hard to ask?? After all that I just asked them instead of a refund if I could just pay for the difference, which would only be 50 cents more.. they took SOOOO DAMN LONG CALLING THEIR MANAGER.. I just asked them can you just make me another sandwich.. sooo 8 pieces of turkey and ADDED 4 PIECES OF BACON.. becareful when you go here. (BTW I had to leave my name and number, apparently when the manager is filing the paper work, he would have to call me later.. I never in my life had this happen to me until I came to this location..) Esp when a girl with pink strands of hair helps you. She got mad that SHE MADE A MISTAKE that she gave other customers attitude and started the slam the ovens door, throwing stuff around and being immature (she was the girl who originally made my SADwhich).. the other girl working was fine, but the girl with the pink strand in her hair, omg.. I'm never going to this subway again. And I HIGHLY SUGGEST.. unless you want a SADwhich with just bread and little pieces of lettuce and just be eating BREAD ONLY, then go to this subway. The subway by McDonald's in kahala is WAY BETTER.

Probably the worst Subway I've ever been to. The employees seem like they were just picked up off the street and forced to work. They never smile, they don't interact with customers, and they skimp on toppings. Bleh!

Yelp 100 Challenge #35/100 All Subways like any franchise aren't created equal. This Subway is no exception as it is one of the better Subway establishments I've been too. The location in Kahala Mall has a lot of seating and is in the back of Cookie corner, so it's pretty quiet too. Whenever I come to this Subway I never had a problem with my order. I always ask for one line of oil and no vinegar with pepper. Fine every time. I also ask for spinach and sometimes, depending on who you get they only give you a few. I just kindly ask for more or let them know I like a bunch of spinach, and again no problem. They have always got it right and the service has been fine as well. Like some other Subway places the chocolate cookie runs out by the evening, but that's definitely okay. I'm happy that this location opened as the parking at the Subway by Olive Tree in the evening is tough at times. I hope that this Subway remains open for a very long time in the Mall.

On February 29 there were supposed to have free cookie day at subway. However this subway didn't honor that and they needed a flier from the day before. How lame is that? Should have stuck with my other subway. My husband went to another one and they offered him a free cookie no questions asked. Anyway I came here but my sandwich was made so haphazardly with everything falling out when I opened it to eat it. She also didn't understand English at all. This subway is terrible. The lines are long during lunch and you'll be waiting a long time to get your food. The management isn't great because no one takes accountability. I guess it helps when you have young kids and foreigners because they don't care about the customers at all. There are better options in the mall to eat at and this isn't one of them. If you're dying for subway, go to the one in kaimuki on 11th, they're nicer there and can make a proper sandwich. They may not speak English at times but they know what they're doing.

This location is very convenient now that my office has moved into Kahala Mall, nonetheless this is the most inconsistent Subway I eat at. I feel like I am babysitting the sandwich makers because one will forget to put toppings or sauces or others will be too frugal with the toppings. Just today the worker put five spinach leaves on my footlong sub. Five. I had to ask for more. Then I had to ask for more again. Convenience trumps consistency at the moment but I do miss the gang at the other Subway at Kahala Square around the corner. Perhaps if I feel like taking a short stroll I'll go back to a Subway that actually cares and remains consistent.

I WOULD GIVE NO STARS IF I COULD!!!! Just plain rude. This has got to be the WORST subway Ive ever been too. They dont honor those coupon cards for BOGO 6in subs, they dont know how to properly talk to customers, and they need some new employees for sure. I came here only twice and they have been soo disgustingly rude to me both times. The first time I came in thinking I could use the BOGO and they laughed at me saying its only for the "OUTSIDE locations since were in the mall". I wouldve understood without you having to act like an ass to me. I didnt let them get away with it though. Second time I came here, I walked in 15 minutes before closing and they were already putting everything away. I asked if they were closing and a guy said "Yeah, but I guess we can take your order". WTF. I ordered a Turkey Breast Salad and the older lady asked "do you want lettuce?" I told her yes and thats all she put was lettuce and turkey. I asked her "you are going to ask me if I want other veggies, right?". I dont know who just wants lettuce and turkey as a salad, but I didnt. She dropped everything and slid it to the guy and walked away. Sorry that I as a customer wanted what I want in a salad. After this, Im done! Ill just stick to ALOHA SALADS if Im in the mood for salad.

I prefer this Subway to the other one outside of the mall not only because of the more convenient location, but because it's cleaner, bigger and they make sandwiches better here. They never mess up my order unlike the other Subway by the Post Office and the soda is never flat. You'd be surprised how many other locations I've been to with flat, stale soda. Overall positive experience and having the location in the mall is very convenient.

Service was terrible. It took two hours to make 8 foot long subs. Even when it was ordered in advance. The manager should be fired because he had his employee make him subs before mine was made and then he took off because he had to meet someone. Also, the sandwiches were made sloppy because they were rushing to make it, even then we were still late to our event. I will never go to this place again

This subway location is great! It's really conveniently located in Kahala Mall within Cookie Corner. This subway has great service, it is always well staffed and is fast. They have always gotten my order right each time and I love that they take credit card (as compared to the one near the olive tree that takes cash only). This location has all the standard subway items, even offers the $5 footlong deal. I also noticed that they are now serving breakfast sandwiches!! Sounds awesome, but I have yet to try them. This location also provides the added temptation for a purchase of those lovely smelling cookies at the Cookie Corner (whether that's good or bad is up to you!). It's a nice and (relatively) healthy meal option in the mall.

Why am I doing a review on a Subway sandwich shop? Because I'm bored and have nothing else to do. What sets this Kahala store apart from others is that they make THE MOST HUMONGOUS SANDWICHES of all the Subways. I watched them make a sandwich for the customer ahead of me and the diameter looked like it was 6" across. Then they squish it and roll it up in a neat little edible package so you can get your lips around it. The parking lot is shared by Wahoo's and Olive Tree, so if no mo space, you gotta park on the street.

I'm going to start off on a positive note and say that this Subway is always clean. Their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie is super awesome, and it's nice to get a good deal on a sub sandwich, chips, and drink. OK, let's get real now... Last night, I ordered a sandwich from this Subway and had the usual - black forest ham and turkey sandwich. When it came time to for the toppings, I asked for the usual toppings, Dijon, mayo, lettuce, extra olives, bell peppers, and pickles. Well, when the worker got to the 'extra olives' part she put what I would have considered the 'normal' amount. So I asked one more time for extra olives - and she just stood there. The cashier had to answer and replied, "That is extra olives. We're only allowed to put three olives for a six-inch sandwich." Three olives?? THREE OLIVES??? Is there like an olive shortage that I don't know about??? Wait...let me google that shit... K - I googled it, and the article that came up was that there seems to be an olive shortage with fricken SUBWAY!!! (Seriously, some girl tweeted it and I guess I should feel fortunate that I got three olives cuz she only got two.) SO FRICKEN IRRAS!!! Will I be eating here again? Unfortunately, probably. Mostly because I really like their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. But I think I'll stick to the Subway that's next to Kahala McDonald's instead.

I like this Subway because it's out of the way in a pretty crowded mall and yet very conveniently located. It's an oasis with plentiful seating and relatively quiet too. I think they do a good job with the sandwiches too. It's a clean environment too. Nice.

This has to be one of the worst Subways on the island. I know this is a chain and the food is the same as any of the others but the management can make or break a good sandwich. They are so cheap! Asked to put on olives and they literally count three slices of olives, asked for more olives and they say they are not allowed to put more. Excuse Me?? About to spend near $30 and they can't put on a few measly olives? Don't get me wrong, olives are not the only thing they skimp on. There are too many other options and too many other subways available...they can count on this...I won't be back!

I just purchased a sandwich from this Subway and don't plan on ever returning. The female worker who greeted us and took our order was great. She was fast and friendly even greeting others as they walked in. Our sandwich was then passed on to a male worker who instead of asking what we would like on our sandwich just stared at us. My husband ordered everything EXCEPT onions and of course the guy starts putting onions on the sandwich. When my husband repeats that he wants NO onions the guy just says "huh?". After telling this guy for a third time "no onions", he starts picking them off with no apology. What really gets me is he then starts wrapping up the sandwich without even putting the chicken (it was a chicken teriyaki sandwich) in the sandwich! When my husband tells him that the chicken isn't in the sandwich he again responds with "huh?". This guy needs to learn some basic communication and customer service skills. I hope the owners realize that there is practically a Subway on every corner and customer service is what will make or break your business.
