I know its "just" a Subway and that is nothing special. What makes this location special are the extremely friendly and always extra happy girls that are running it. Any time I come in I can feel their uplifting mood and giving attitude. This is by far the best Subway that I went to.

I hate the be the bringer of bad reviews but when customer service is so bad you feel the need to write a review, you know something's up. This is my first time purchasing food from this location of subway, although I always pass it, I decided to stop and pick up food for the family. As I walked in I immediately smelled a sour taste in my nose and it slowly lingered throughout my visit. There were 3 girls working behind the glass. After a few minutes of waiting of waiting, one of the employees approached me and asked what kind of sand which I wanted, I proceeded to tell her Italian bread 12inch, and in the middle of my sentence she walked away to go work on another customer that the other 2 girls were already talking to. Throughout trying to order 3 more sandwhiches they kept switching in between and had a clueless expression on there faces whenever I would state what I wanted. I swear I had to say mayonnaise 5 times on one sandwhich. The food is good, but not because of the employees. Definitely do not recommend this place if you care about how well they remember what you say. Will not revisit.

Small place but big servings compared to the usual subway I go to.

Would go to this subway frequently and have tried to order a egg and ham sandwich. The two female workers would always mention that it's a breakfast sandwich and CANNOT be order in the evening. Today, I walk in only to find another customer has already ordered an egg related sandwich. After inquiring why I couldn't order a "breakfast" sandwich during my previous visits, they just stared at me and feebly attempted to deny it was them who had rejected my request. Never returning here again....

4.6.13. I would have never noticed this Subway location if we hadn't ordered from here! I don't know how I missed it all of these years of turning down Punahou Street... Our experience with this location was great! Some of my friends pre-ordered the sandwich platter (~$35), which feeds about 5-9 people and they even put extra veggies on the side along with packets of mustard and mayo; this way the sandwiches wouldn't be soggy! Not sure if the extras were extra $$ but it was nicely packaged for us and everything was ready on arrival! Just a note that the parking can be tricky...especially since after turning on Punahou Street this location is right there on the right hand side. You pretty much just pull into a stall but I can only imagine the horror of trying to back out into traffic, more so if the lot is full. If anything I would suggest trying to somehow back into a stall...either way good luck! Aside from that a great, quick and easy location to pick up from! Yelp 365 Challenge: #095/365

I'm not sure why some of the reviews are so low... This is my favorite Subways! It's located on the corner of South King and Punahou, where the old Pee Wee's Drive-in use to be. I was never really big fan of Pee Wee's, but yet I was so sad to see it go. Anyhow... Since this place is fairly new, it's very clean. I usually stop by for dinner once or twice a month and always greeted with a friendly smile. They always make my subs the way I want it. Parking is a little small (about 5 stalls) and streets are pretty busy, whenever I go. So as long as your patient or don't mind taking a little detour on your way out, I'm sure this will be your favorite Subways as well...

the subway on king and punahoa the site of the old Pee Wee drive inn. has got to be the absolute tightest subway i have ever been in. it literally seems as though the girl preparing the sandwiches is counting the amount of toppings she is putting on. i asked for spinach, she put one leaf going across for a total of no more than 6 leafs of spinach. i asked for extra jalapenos, she actually went into the container holding the jalapenos then pretended to add more jalapenos. but in reality put not single extra piece of jalapeno. to top it off, at the very end i ask if they could wrap the to halves seperately as every subway graciously accomodate. but not here, here they pretend to not hear you and quickly wraps the entire foot long sandwich in one wrapper

The worst subway ever...!!! Cold meatballs, too much sauce, salty, no available preferred bread, no gas for soda, clumsy service, and No smile !

I have never heard of a Subway where you can't ask for a little more lettuce, or a little more bell peppers--where they count out the slices of olives (7 pieces in a foot long sandwich). When I asked for a little more of these things, the girl refused saying that they have a set recipe that they are required to follow. When I mentioned that other Subway shops always (and cheerfully) entertain these requests, I was told that the it's because the owners of the franchise have mandated that they adhere strictly to specific portion size. I always thought that one of the reasons you go to a Subway is so you could have the sandwich built with the components you like. Forget this Subway. Go to the Manoa Marketplace Subway. They are much more accommodating.

Mine and my girlfriends favorite Subway to go, and yes there's a difference. Most are overly busy and don't allow the workers to pay special attention to the subs. We only like to go when Debbie works and she remembers our order by heart already. She's always happy and tells our order to us with a smile and makes going there effortless. We half a spicy italian footlong (same bread), but get different fillings. Sometimes she slips and drops some unwanted cucumbers inside mine, but no biggie since she's so nice. Service here is better than any other we go to, which is why we return multiple times during the week after classes or gym.

The "manager" flora is horrible! The other thin Filipino manager is DA BOMB and on top with her customer service, which is why I'm completely puzzled why this old lady is wearing a managers shirt. I can easily forgive bad customer service and the lack of being able to hear what I'm saying for your age. But the very first thing any subway worker should know is how to make a nice neat flippin sandwich! I used to work at subway so I know how it's supposed to look! I did NOT want a huge overwhelming blob of mustard on my sandwich. I did NOT want the vegetables to all fall out as she horrible closed and just continued to wrap my sandwiches. I did NOT want all the vegetables in a stack in the middle of the sandwich (which is why they all fell out). I did NOT want to pay for double Tuna (but had to cuz her amazingly small scoops). I'll still come Back here since its so close to my house, but I'll definitely ask for someone else's help. Empty tip jar- no wonder. Some advice? We made $30-50 tip average a lunch shift. Maybe you'll get some money if you cared more about presentation.
