$3 breakfast combo IS available here with hot cookies around 8:30a! The best of both worlds, since often Ala Moana locations don't carry some chain specials. Great pricing, swift and friendly service, nicely constructed sandwiches, fresh and clean location! Pretty good in my book! 531 Yelps challenge

After a long shift in Waikiki and being rained on while waiting for the bus to go to my next shift in ala moana, I longed for the sweet delicious embrace of a meatball marinara sandwich. However, the embrace was more like a chokehold as the next thing that unfolds crushes my everlasting love for subways. I arrive at the destination, excited and giddy. I have not had subways since the beginning of 2015, when spring semester started at uh. A whiff. The air had no subways smell. (Subways has a distinct smell). I was immediately greeted. Nice. Heck yea I know my order. Footlong meatball marinara on Italian herbs and cheese with pepper jack. It was a little weird when she took the bucket of meatballs from a microwave looking thing on the counter, but I shrugged it off. You do you girl. I was not fully paying attention to the assembly of my sandwich because I had nothing to eat for 7 hours and sometimes you shut off when that happens. I get the basics on my sandwich and I'm on my way. I arrive at my work place, body is ready to ravish the sub, I open up the sandwich. I like to deconstruct before I eat any sandwiches. I start on one half of a half of the sandwich, and I fork away. Tastes alright. I move onto the next half of the half of a foot long and right when I moved the meatball, I let out a very manly scream. My worst nightmare has happened. A roach was embedded into the bread of the sandwich. Tears stream down my eyes. How could this happen to me? I've made my mistakes. Outraged, with my coworkers and boss encouraging me, I storm back to subways with regret in my eyes and fire in my heart. All I got was an apology, asked if I wanted another one made, but I simply decline. I want my money back for this monstrosity. I paid with my debit card and they said that they voided the action, and that the money should be back in my account, but it has been a few days and my money is not back in my account. I am not coming back.

Food is ok. Standard subway quality and professional service. Quick to make the food and be on our way. 2 stars because CASH ONLY! be warned...good for the old school income tax fraud.

I usually come to this place in the afternoon, and I'm usually satisfied with the quick and efficient service, but being that my shift was at 6am, I had an early lunch and never dealt with this crew before. I have an hour to chow, return texts, emails & phone calls, and run back to work. I was the only customer, and there were 2 workers present. I waited for a good 2 minutes while one of the workers (an older Filipino lady) transferred bread trays in the oven. I started to leave when I heard her close the door. So I turned around and asked, "Are you ready yet?" She was kind throughout the transaction, but what really set me off was when one of their obviously regular customers came in and complained about the coffee grinds in the urn. Not mad that he complained. Mad that it took the attention of both of their workers, so I waited another several minutes just to pay for my food while they tended to him. Won't be back here for breakfast, which was less than mediocre.

Very small like always. Located across the street from the Wal*Mart in town by the Alamoana Shopping Center. Came here for lunch there was only one like 17 year old boy working...he was nice. LOL Chill didn't have to wait long for our food. & the air-con wasn't too cold, which I lavvvvv, sometimes some subways can blast their aircon too high and then I'll freeze my butt off so then I have to leave which sucks when you're super hungry&tryna grind then&there. LOL but if you're in town&hungry looking for a deal come here! They actually have the $5 foot long specials here. I know that some other Subway's on Oahu they don't promote it that's why&instead of the $5 footlong its like the fkn $5.99 foot long = BULLSHIT! haha It's more of a foot traffic place though. +No parking, there's a parking lot next to it but I'm pretty sure you have to pay. Which is LAME* so just park at Wal*Mart&walk across the street. LOL:)

As soon as I handed over the money, a HUGE RAT jumped across their kitchen. HUGE to me is 8" without the tail. T_T Let's just say that this Subway location isn't the best. I knew that, I bet you all knew that, but I still tend to come here when I'm at the mall and want something cheap, quick, and not greasy. To me, Subway is like comfort food, I guess? This is why I won't eat here anymore: - Locke D. and I must have gotten the same "sandwich artist." Can I have Wheat please? She nods and smacks White on the counter. I'm sorry, I said WHEAT, can I get WHEAT bread please? She holds up the White and shakes it. WHEAT, I would like WHEAT PLEASE. The same thing happened at every station. She starts trying to scoop Buffalo Chicken--NO WAIT, I said ROAST BEEF. NO STOP, I do not want Jalapeno sauce! In the end, I got a handful of banana peppers when I kept saying Olives and Tomatoes. AND she tried to take my sandwich back after I wrapped it--Didn't you say you wanted pickles? *sigh* No, I did not. Whatever, I expected this. I guess I get to try banana peppers. I just wanted to leave. - So back to the story--as I'm paying for my food, all of the girls who are usually prepping in the back are crowded next to the register. They are staring at the backroom in horror. I'm curious, is there a tiger on the table or something? Suddenly, the rat skips from the top of the refrigerator, across the metal arm that prevents the door from swinging all the way open, and onto one of those rolling bread trolleys. The lady sees my also horrified expression, tries to tell me how Ala Moana won't help them get rid of their rat problem, gives me my change and starts making new sandwiches. We were not hungry anymore.

I went to have some lunch and decided on Subway. It was lunch hour, and there was a small line but on this visit, the line went pretty quick. ALL the workers were busy doing something. Either cashiering or making sandwiches. They werent grumpy, they werent irritated, it looked like they enjoyed their job. In an out, It was probably 3 minutes, even with 4 people in front of me! That NEVER happens to me. Normally, lines take a long time. But anyway, the sandwich was good. Ordered a footlong but half the sandwich satisfied me. 4 stars for quality of food and service!

Subway has always been a go-to place for me, but this location lacks a great deal in service and quality. As I've been attempting to eat healthier lately, I have been somewhat forced to go to this Subway location since I work at Ala Moana and the mall doesn't offer too many healthy alternatives. And through my many visits, I have been disappointed time and time again. Although this many not apply to all the staff, majority of the location's workers fail to give good customer service. While a 5-star restaurant service isn't to be expected from a sandwich shop, the workers are unfortunately quite rude, insisting to chat and gossip with coworkers while blatantly ignoring you in your attempt to give them the selections of your order (and follow with a "What did you want again?" since they weren't pay attention the first couple of times). While this may just seem like a one-time thing, it has unfortunately happened on many occasions. In conjunction with customer service but in terms of quality, they seem to rush your order, even during slow periods. They throw the meat, cheese, and vegetables onto your sandwich vigorously, failing to at least attempt to distribute them evenly. Eating a sandwich with inconsistent bites can be somewhat frustrating, especially when it could have been easily avoided with the effort of another 5 seconds. Moreover, they'll often put vegetables (especially tomatoes) that don't seem to be a good enough "cut" for the sandwich--i.e. the end of the tomato where there's more skin than actual tomato or lettuce that's already browning. Again, while Subway will always be a go-to place for those looking for healthy alternatives, there are other Subway locations that will offer you much better service and quality. *Btw, I'm not sure if this applies to all Subways as I've only tried the breakfast combo special at this location, but the coffee is always TERRIBLE. Terrible as in even if it was free, I'd turn it down. I prefer my coffee black, and even when I load their coffee with sugar and cream, it is still terrible.

I love they're sandwiches. Workers are friendly, and cute even on busy days where the line is out the door ^_^ some of them go out of they're way to suggest me things, and small chat which I enjoy on not so good days of my own. Health food, YUM

OMG they give the tiniest of the tiniest servings. WTH?!??!!! I had to repeated request for them to add more than 5 slices of pickles, 6 pieces of olives, a couple strings of red onion as well as green bell pepper. They are so tight with their servings. AND what is up with not having swiss cheese available and that's in ANY subway location in Oahu??? Why even open up this location if they're limiting their serving??? This location sucks.

went to eat here with my daughter, and now one in the store. 2 employees on behind the counter and one cleaning the store. almost closing time, nothing special and nothing to complain about, just average. i guess in this economy, average isn't good enough.
