I always enjoy starbucks! I would have another 1,000 check ins if i remembered to yelp everytime that I do! Venti unsweetned ice coffee, no room, light ice. The only thing that I have to mention is that I MISS THAT OLD BLUEBERRY SCONE! The new one is...meh.

I ordered a Ice Black Tea with Thai on 8/12/15 4:00pm. It's $3.25 plus $0.50 (Thai) plus tax. I just want to describe this drink. The lady who made the drink started with a little bit of black tea in a plastic jar, then she added cold water into it, and then poured into a venti cup full of ice cubes. The Thai part, she squeezed a little condense milk in the cup, that's Thai. What I get in the end tasted almost like ice water with condense milk at the bottom. I could have had a much better drink in McDonald, Coffee or Tea, Tea Boss, Taste Tea, etc.

What I like about Starbucks is the employees are very friendly, they remember ur name, ur drinks, and they have conversations with you. I enjoy hanging out at most Starbucks for hours reading, wish they had bathrooms at the Starbucks in downtown. They should make a Starbucks where Dillingham Zippys is, so we HCC students can go there, cuz the Starbucks in Kam shopping mall is a little far. Also the business arnd there go to our school for their drinks. I believe once Starbucks is there it will make money n will be super busy!! I enjoy my favorite drink grn tea once I lessen the pumps and cut out the classic pump. Don't know y they took out the free milks on the gold card. Since they did that I cut drinking the fraps. They don't carry my fav China grn tea anymore, so gotta bring my own tea bag. Also I hope they don't raise the prices anymore for the drinks, cuz they are already expensive as is. I look forward to the weeks when they have 1/2 fraps. I love their oat bars, cookies, and pops. The atmosphere is just right, the seats and tables are comfortable. This is my favorite hang out when I need to study and read. Keep up the awesome work and I hope to see more Starbucks and most areas... *_*

Toilet still not fixed and I haven't seen anyone working on it when I'm there. This is what they think about us, only want our money. I've seen the staff use it so it's not broken for them but for the public

This is one of my favorite Starbucks to go to maybe because I work in Waikiki and it's my go to Starbucks when I need my coffee or tea fix in the morning. The staff has always been friendly and as often as I do come here, there are those who remembers my name and my usual coffee order when I'm on a spree of getting coffee on a daily. I've never had a bad experience here and the atmosphere is very pleasing. Although the parking lot may seem small and compact, I've always found parking whenever I visit this location. The gold star program always brings be to Starbucks over any other coffee places. The promo of bringing your receipt after 2pm and get any bakery goods for only a $1 had me coming here mostly every day since it started. That way I get to try all the different baked goods without having to spend the regular price and at the same time accumulating all my stars.

Service is always good and the drinks always come out to perfection. Parking is bountiful however if you have a big truck like I do it can be kinda tight. Staff is friendly and the store always clean. Calm atmosphere than other locations and the vibe is always cool. We love Gina, I think she's the manger. What great Aloha service from her!

This Starbucks has the smallest parking lot EVER. Other than that, the service is usually great here, the coffee and other drinks are consistent with other Starbucks. No complaints from me. I am a Starbucks fan :)

This may be one of my favorite Starbucks on the island. And maybe I'm biased because of the proximity to where I live, but this Starbucks really is one of the best. The simple fact that it has its own parking lot (okay, it's shared with Jamba Juice and a sushi place, but still - free parking) is something to be applauded, but on top of that they're open late (11:30pm most nights) and the best part is no matter when I come there is ALWAYS somewhere to sit - a rarity among most of the Starbucks in town. There is a lot of indoor and shaded outdoor seating, so I can camp out here for hours to work on things on my laptop. The baristas are always super friendly, like most Starbucks, but I've never had a negative experience here. They're lovely people, really. If you're looking for a Starbucks in town to study or work or just meet up at, I'd go with this one every time, they're A+.

Free Wi-fi, friendly courteous staff and spacious seating layout... not too shabby. But my favorite thing about this location is I can check my emails over wi-fi (visiting from Tokyo) then head on over with my Green Tea Frap to the Ala Wai golf course and sit on a shady bench watching people bang away at their balls. Its only a 1-2 minute drive.

This is one of my favorite spots to mooch of some internet. Lots of sitting so always has a place for me to crash for about 2 hours. That Java keeps me coming back

Sign posted on the door that they had to close and sorry for the inconvenience. Even your worker didn't know what to do that I seen inside and all your deliveries are there.

I really like starbucks. I'm from California where most of the coffee bean comes from the Napa valley. It taste really good because of the hint of wine in it. Here in Hawaii, the starbucks is really unique. They use a special breed of beans from the dole plantation. There is a pineapple sweetness to it. I didn't get to try it this time, but instead of the usually sausage and egg biscuit. They have spam and egg biscuit. Hawaii spam is the best! definitley a place to try again!

Hey a Starbucks with English speaking staff, clean stations, happy employees, organic soy milk, Hawaiian music, a view, air conditioning, parking, wifi and trendy customers. There should be a community bar... and bar seating along the window. The outdoor seating is shared with Jamba, it is shaded and great for people watching. They need to recycle and use Starbucks global influence to address rainforest destruction instead of race relations .... but this is a really nice drug store.

Green tea frappe tastes like powdered sugar, yuck, thankful there's a Jamba Juice next door. Limited seating at all hours of the day! I walk up to the counter with my used green tea frapp cup for them to REUSE to fill with water as they so proudly commercialize themselves as a 'green' company, and the barista looks at me and says 'I can get you a new cup,' as if he'd be doing me and the planet a favor. I say 'no thank you, I'd rather not waste one more plastic cup simply for water. Why would you do that?' He says 'well, bums take them out of the trash and try to use them.' I look at him like his momma raised a fool and say 'I'm obviously not a bum, and did not pull this cup out of the trash, please don't give me a new cup if you can help yourself.' He says 'okay' an puts it off to the side of the next girl barista. I watch her as she ignorantly picks up a new plastic cup off the rack, fills with water and places it on the counter! I patiently inquired, 'Did you see my cup over there? Starbucks says it's a business that works for the planet and the community it flourishes in, but you're not practicing that.' She looks at me with her dull cow eyes and says 'Oh, did you want me to fill that one up with water as well?' Auuuggh! What is so difficult about filling up a used cup with water? Golly. I'm easy to get along with and am understanding, but these fools were downright ignorant. That's how I know they dont paid enough to think critically. One good thing is: Fun to people watch, see all types of folks walkin in here.

I don't normally go to Starbucks frequently, but during times when I have no internet access, I'll usually go to this location (and purchase iced tea) to use the free wifi. Practically all the tables and chairs are occupied for a few hours on end Employees are pretty nice and accommodating. Plus, this is a convenient location right off Kapahulu Avenue and Date Street.

I'm a big Starbuck fan. In fact, I drink Starbuck coffee everyday,, minimal one grande per day... The service can be a bit slow since they like to talk stories... island style! If you're local, eh... whatever! If you're mainlander, go with the flow eh!

Finding a parking spot here is a challenge, and the stalls are so tight you're often squeezing your car into a space, then squeezing your body out of your car. Despite that frustration, this is a nice Starbucks. It hasn't been hit with the new look of recently remodeled stores. The street view down Date Street offers pleasant urban skyline views all the way into McCully. If your seat looks mauka, up Kapahulu Ave, you get can look at the fickle weather up in Manoa Valley and Tantalus. I usually hit this place in the mid morning when there isn't a crowd, before customers stake out their space, and I find the people working always friendly and patient.

I am a very loyal starbucks customer. The rewards program pulls me in. I actually wrote an econ paper on Starbucks and its rewards program. They recently changed the program a little, which caused a little bit of an uprising in the starbucks fan group, but I thin people have gotten over it for the most part. This location on Kapahulu is one of favorites because it is convenient for me and the baristas are always friendly. I also like that there is ample indoor and outdoor seating. And if you get hungry for sushi, you can get some right next door. Let's face it, Starbucks drinks are always consistent. I like chai tea lattes, vanilla lattes, caramel macchiatos and iced green tea with orange mango. Sometimes I feel like I'm being a nuisance with my long, detailed orders, but I've experimented a lot and found my favorite drinks, made in very specific ways. I don't ever make coffee at home, so I don't buy packaged coffee or many of their other products, but I like collecting Starbucks mugs when I travel abroad. I also think Keurig, starbucks versimo and similar pod machines are so wasteful! Which reminds me, you can get cute to-go cups (both hot and cold) and get a small discount at the register. My one and only complaint about this kapahulu location: parking. Although the parking lot has pretty good turnover and you'll always be able to find a spot, the parking spots are sooooo small. It's not a problem for my tiny car, but the last time I was her, I was sitting in my car and a huge truck pulled up next to me, they banged my car when they opened their door. No bueno!

This location lacks the friendly customer service that the other Starbuck's have going for them. The napkin and straw area was filthy. The workers look tired and grouchy. There was no type of "Welcome" or "Comfort" to this shop location. Very disappointed and discouraged from entering this particular location in the future.

This Starbucks is usually always crowded. There are several chairs but not enough. There is also outside seating. The staff is friendly. The parking is limited. Service is quick. Free WiFi.

Im completely redoing this review. Initially I was "just ok" with the mediocre service, but since my last review Ive noticed the staff are a lot friendlier and interactive with the customers now. I like that! This particular Starbucks is closest to my house so Im here almost every day before work. I used to come here simply because it was convenient and for that reason only. Now this is actually my favorite location. Its perfect minus the parking. Luckily my new work schedule has me getting my coffee at times when the parking lot is empty! Yay me! This Starbucks gets 5 stars for friendly staff, consistently making my drink perfect every time and being super close to home.

Needed to find a Starbucks that wasn't too busy around 7am and was near KCC.. Honestly best service I've had at any other Starbucks!! I understand that it gets jam packed at most times, but damn, my order comes in quick. The cashiers are more friendly than the one giving out the drinks :O lol. I wish this place was bigger and had more tables for homework.

As far as Starbucks locations in Hawaii go, I like this one. It is located on a main corner of Kapahulu Avenue across from Jack In The Box. I remember when this spot used to be Keo's back in the day. The biggest con about this Starbucks is definitely parking as it shares these spaces with a couple other eateries. Even so, there are a number of side streets nearby that you might find street parking on. You just need to walk a little bit. The drink selection here is just what you would expect from a Starbucks. Though I did find the refrigerated case disappointing as I did not see any sandwiches or salads. Just pastries and breakfast sandwiches for food options above it. The coffee shop is large and cosy. Plenty of seating and cool AC for those really warm days. There is also seating outside if you prefer natural ventilation. It is a busy intersection so it might be a bit noisy. This is not an issue while inside the store however. What I like the most about this Starbucks is the ambiance. It has soothing music playing in the background and a low key/let be vibe in which you feel free to work and/or study without concern. This Starbucks is about as good as it gets if you are looking for a nice public space to unwind or get things done.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that it must be very difficult to make Starbuck's new flat white coffee. That said, I am happy to say if you are a fan of them then this is the location to go to for creamy, never bitter flat whites!! Thanks all of the barista's - and #teddy and I appreciate your consistency!

The homeless problem has gotten out of hand. This location has become a homeless camp. At night there are a few homeless parked outside and there's always someone camped inside with 2 pieces of luggage. I don't feel like sitting in the same seat as someone who looks like they woke up behind a dumpster. A few months ago I saw a slightly deranged homeless woman rummage through the trash can in a SB parking lot until she found a SB cup, she then hands it to the barista for a "free refill". Nice, the person making drinks is now handling garbage. Beyond that the staff and product quality at this location are both consistently great.

So far the nicest Starbucks I've been to since I moved here. I live in Waikiki and I'd rather ride my bike here every day than go to the one 3 blocks from my house! The staff are sooooo nice here and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

This starbucks is on my favorite list. Only problem is parking. The people who work there are nice. The store it's self is on the smaller side but there is still plenty of room to work.

  • G T.

Parking is the biggest problem here. They have a serious line in the morning and there parking stalls are limited. They should put a drive through location nearby. I think there's a lot of folks picking up in there morning on the way to work.

This spot is another home away from home for me. It's a great spot to hang out or have a casual business meeting. There is free wifi with tables inside and outside to choose from. Mink thinks Starbucks have the best butter croissants around the area. The only thing about this place is the parking. It is in a private lot but the stalls are very small and spaces are very limited. Noise level is higher than other Starbucks locations, IMO, because it's located at the corner of Kapahulu Ave and Date St. which is under construction at the moment. There is always a nice breeze when you are sitting outside enjoying the beverage they crafted for you.

You would think all Starbucks locations would serve the exact same tasting drinks. I mean after all they use the same coffee, same syrups, same cups, etc. But anyone else like me who go to Starbucks on a daily basis has their favorite locations to pick up their java fix. People might think my favorite location is picked only because of how close the Starbucks is to my home or work. Not totally true for my picks. For many years Kahala Mall's Starbucks was my first choice. Then my second choice would be this Kapahulu branch. Kahala Mall was the only place that could consistently get my drink right. Not to mention the convenience of it being in a mall I frequently go to, and their barista's were so friendly. Not sure what happened, but slowly this Kapahulu branch is becoming my #1 choice location. Like any other Starbucks, there are seating available inside. Lots of students are normally using the tables and Wi-fi, which is fine because I normally take it to go when I'm at this location. You can also find a few tables outside, but those are of course also for Kozo Sushi and Jamba Juice patrons to share. If you're a dog lover like myself you can almost always see a 4 legged friend with it's owner sitting outside. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is my loathe of their parking lot. Their small lot is shared with Jamba Juice, Kozo Sushi, and a tanning salon (in Hawaii?! whaaaaaaat?). So you may have to double park or circle back at least 2-3 times depending on the time of day. The stalls are not only scarce, but made for the size of miata's. If you have anything bigger, be prepared to practically have to spiderman over the next car to get out of your car. That and of course the dreaded car dings to your doors. One tip for parking if you want to avoid Spiderman moves and dings would be to have your passenger wait in the car and park across the street at Jack in the Box. There is a TON of parking and it's just a short walk across. I don't recommend parking there if you don't have someone to wait in the car. Otherwise, the tow charge would make it a hefty priced coffee (Even for Starbucks)!

Ok, as most coffee aficionados aka coffee snobs know, Starbucks usually has clean bathrooms, free Wifi, lots of outlets to plug in your electronic drug of choice, nice seating and coffee made with filtered water and replaced regularly so it is always fresh and never burnt tasting. Baristas are on top of their game here. Yes I have been testing them with the off the menu items. Off the menu items you ask??? Yes, what I am about to share with you is some of the secret menu that they have shared with me and that I have personally ordered and tasted. Hold on to your sippy cups and take some notes so you, yes you can order like a pro and impress your friends and confuse some customers as they try to look for what you ordered. Ok here we go: Captain Crunch Frappuccino: If you like Frappuccinos you will love this refreshing strawberry and creme treat. It has one shot of caramel, two shots of toffee, one shot of hazelnut, and two scoops of chocolate chips. I prefer mine without the chocolate chips. Snickers Frappuccino: Ok if you like snickers then this one is for you. It has two pumps of toffee nut and caramal drizzle on top. YUMMY!!! Biscotti Frappuccino: Buy a piece of your favorite biscotti and ask the barista to blend it with your choice of frappuccino. It will give tiny biscotti bits that will add big flavor to your frapp! Butterbeer Frappuccino: Ok so you are a Harry Potter fan and you wanted a butterbeer but didn't want to the Three Broomsticks to get one. Well you can now get it at your local Starbucks. if they don't know what's inside, just ask for a creme frappuccino base made with whole milk and whipped cream. Add in 3 pumps of caramel syrup, 3 pumps of toffee nut syrup and caramel drizzle. Better watch out as this drink might put you under a spell that keeps you coming back for more. You are not a big Frappuccino drinker??? No worries, try some of these drinks. If you are like me and either don't sleep much or you need to have that pick me up... try the next two drinks. Dirty Chai: It's a Chai Latte, hot or cold, make it dirty! The dirty is a shot of espresso. If one isn't enough then get a double. Once I got a triple but it came out a little too bitter for my taste but it did the job and gave me that boost. Liquid Cocaine: Okay this drink might have you bouncing off the walls but is soooo worth it. What's inside... Order 4 shots of espresso and 4 pumps of white chocolate syrup over ice in a grande cold cup. Stir and get ready for blast off. Make sure you tell them not to add any milk so it will be pure caffeine and sugar. Strawberry Lemonade: More in the mood for a refreshing drink then this one might be for you. It's not on the menu but you can order it without explaining it to them. It's pink strawberry lemonade slush that will have you licking your lips. I know there is a bunch more but I haven't tasted them yet. But these ones were the ones I tried. Have fun and enjoy!

Horrible experience at Starbucks, not just once but TWICE. Their Barrista is a flake and dropped an entire drink over the counter and floor. She served my drink with the spilled drinks all over my own drink. She saw me wiping it and she looked like she did not care at all. I'm a Gold Star Card holder and will never go back to this location again. I'd rather wait in a long line at Kahala than be treated poorly at this Kapahulu location. What a shame!

A friend and I went in this morning and ordered 2 iced coffees w/ 5 pumps of classic and HALF AND HALF. When I got my drinks it was made with 2% milk. I understand that your job gets busy, but you should ALWAYS make the drinks as the customer asked. So as we were sitting down, the Barista, a rather large Hawaiian girl who was making the drinks was talking to a customer very rudely, there was a language barrier & She ended up rolling her eyes at the customer. This was such an awful experience & very disrespect to the guest who visit our islands. SHE NEEDS TO GO TO SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES & FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.

One of the best Starbuck locations I enjoy. The staff is the most friendly I have ever known. They know most regular customers names plus their regular drink. I give this location the best rating. Check it out.

NOT ALL STARBUCKS SHOPS ARE CREATED EQUAL. I've been living in coffee shops these last few weeks studying and I must say this Starbucks has ranked elite amongst it's fellow competitors. Sure its only a few blocks away from where I live, but that's not the main reason I love coming here. If you have been hanging out at coffee shops as long and as late as I have, you get hungry. With most shops I've tried out, places to eat that were in walking distance were quite limited. But not here, folks. You have Kozo Sushi next door, Jamba next door to that, Side Street across the street, Tenkaippan around the corner, Papa Johns after that, Zippys the other way, Uncle Bo's if you want to get fancy, Nickies for some pho, even Jack in a Box if you feel like fatting up. You won't even break a sweat walking to these places. Free wifi, good amount of outlets to plug into, not too hard finding somewhere to sit, decent parking, and open until 11pm! I'm sure once school starts back up this place will be a madhouse....until then, it's all mine so BTFU!

not for cafe dwellers. COMPETITIVE SEATING! other than that everybody that's ever served me is super friendly and quick with my orders. It's nice if you are there in the rare moment where there's 5-6 open seats, pick one quick, because people are always scouting for a table to open up. But when you do get one, and need to get some work/journalling done, this is a good spot. lotta people watching. if you're on the go, expect quick service, no matter how long the line. they can handle high volume very well at this location. If you work in waikiki, get your coffee here FIRST before getting it near work, it'll be at least $1-$2 cheaper.

I hate coffee of any kind but I like everything else here. Usually I get the tea, sometimes I get a snack. But it's all good. Of course, you're going to pay for it here. Everyone knows it. I like the atmosphere here, too. The outdoor space is a nice touch that says feel free to just sit and relax. Plus, there are other places to eat just steps away. So you don't have to solely do coffee, tea, or snacks. You can add a meal to that cup of Joe (or tea in my case). One star subtracted for outrageous pricing and the small (and always packed) parking lot.

Just started to come to this Starbucks on the reg to study. The cafe can fill quickly especially on the weekends but they have a great set up for studying so I wait around. I'm writing my first review for yelp on this Starbucks because the service I got today inspired me. Ordered a triple grande brûlée latte and an everything bagel. Received my latte at the bar but no bagel...was only two baristas at the time and it started to get busy. Told the barista at the bar I didn't get my bagel so she quickly put in the toaster oven. Got my bagel in two minutes with a free drink coupon for having to wait! Seriously I'm not one of those customers to bitch about waiting for food so I was kind of shocked to get the coupon... Wasn't a big deal. Then I forgot my pen pouch at home and couldn't take notes for studying. I asked the barista where I could buy pens around here and she just found one in the store to let me borrow...lifesaver! Yelp high five to this Starbucks for offering wonderful customer service especially when it was unexpected.

Horrible service here. This location is right down the street from us but we always go to Kahala Mall Starbucks instead. Because.. Here, the order always gets mixed up or the service is crappy, like just recently. It reminds me why I DON'T come here. We had ordered a bunch of drinks, and afterward I got back in line to order a kid's chocolate milk. Keep in mind we had just ordered this the night before for my little sister. Tonight, the cashier tried to charge me $3.45. I told him it's a kid's drink, and he said "yeah, it is" so I told him the menu says $1.45. He suddenly got confused and stared at the menu for a good minute. Then he changed it to $1.45 + $0.60. We paid $1.45 last night, and that's what we pay at Kahala, but I figured whatever, that's fine. I have my card ready and he turns his back to me again without saying anything to me, to ponder the menu more. Seriously? I told him forget it, and walked out since our first order of drinks were already done. I wasn't about to stand there all night while he pondered the Starbucks menu/prices, with customers waiting behind me.

Starbucks, baby, you know I love you. I know I'm tempted to try other coffee shops and I get satisfied by them. It's just a quick fix, baby. I swear! ...but...but, just let me explain!! Come on, you know I'm always going to come back for your Iced Soy Chai Tea Latte. It's your spiciness that brought us together in the first place! I like being with you, I really do. When I'm with you, I just get to relax and feel I can do anything I want. Use the internet, read a book, listen to music. And you know the best part, we can do that together! I know a lot of others want to be with you. I tried coming over the other day, and what did I find?? Like, 20 or so guys (and some girls...didn't know you swung that way) trying to spend time with you. I couldn't even find a place to sit! But you'll never turn me away, and that's why I love you.

I'm sorry for neglecting you for so long, Kapahulu Starbucks! Never again will I ignore your amazingness. I recently decided to stop going to the UH Starbucks so often because of the long lines and the not so great customer service. I also recently finished getting ready for school early and had a lot of free time, so I figured, why not? I'll go drive to the Kapahulu Starbucks since it's been awhile. The parking area is relatively small and compact, but I had no problems when I went at about 9:30 AM on a Tuesday morning. Right when I walked into Starbucks, I was immediately greeted and asked for my order. I ordered my usual iced soy caramel macchiato and was asked by the barista if I wanted an extra shot...why yes I do! Not only was I given an amazing suggestion, but I also had my order reiterated for me just in case! Now that's great customer service. The drink was made promptly and I was pleased with the speediness and quality of my order. Not only that, but because I only waited for about a minute, I ended up making it to class earlier than if I had gone and waited twenty minutes at the UH Starbucks! Looks like I'm coming back for you more often, Kapahulu Starbucks.

I would be friendly at 6 am if I had unlimited access to espresso drinks too... Oh sorry, did that sound bitter?! Seriously, this Starbucks has to be one of my favorites on the island. I feel like I walk into a party every time I come here in the afternoon. In the morning the baristas are perfectly mellow but super fast at getting my order (because hey, I need to get back to Wahiawa in about 30 minutes!) They have never gotten my order wrong or made me wait too long and they never *sigh heavily* like it is a chore to reload my starbucks card.... Aurora W. used to live near here so I have used it a few times as a work spot. There are not enough seats (but, whose taking off points when are there EVER enough seats at a coffee shop?!) and it gets crowded in the afternoon but it still is a place with tons of positive energy which is proven to enhance caffeine consumption....

I usually stop by often before school starts and sometimes in the afternoon. I usually get great customer service in the morning. But when I went in today(5/28) in the afternoon around 2:45 the girl at the reg was really rude. She didn't say anything rude, but that was the thing, she didn't say ANYTHING. All she did was give me a death stare, no greeting nothing. I ordered a venti iced coffee, all she asked was "sugar?", I said yes please and she gave my total. After giving back my change, she didn't say "thank you" or anything. Just got a death stare again. Understandable if it's busy and there's a rush but it was dead slow. But regardless you should try and give good customer service. If your day was going bad, separate your personal life from work. Lighten up. Worst service I got here.

Best Starbucks ever. Only because it's down the street from Leonard's Bakery and fresh malasadas go great with Starbucks coffee! lol

What more can I say? Everybody knows about Starbucks! The perfect pick-me-up when my day is just dragging. WIth a convenient location almost at any corner of the island, its the perfect place to meet up with friends or even classmates for a study date with free wifi available. I always come for the Caramel macchiato. Its pretty much my school day ritual to stop by to get my day started. When I'm not in the mood for coffee, I like the iced black tea lemonade sweetened please! Theres a nice parking lot at the Kapahulu location. Although the lot is pretty small, it seems like I'm always able to find a spot since people are constantly coming in and out.

This is a great location, but parking here is their biggest challenge, especially in the afternoon. In the morning, only Starbucks and Jamba Juice are open, but most of the (30+) parking stalls are taken. There is also a Kozo sushi and another shop, both stores open after 10 am and will worsen the parking situation. Okay, back the Starbucks: This location feels like a Library. Very quiet and an ample amount of tables and chairs. They have a lot of students and their share of business clientele in the morning. It makes you want to take a day off, read a book. The cashiers are friendly and efficient in getting your drinks ready. I highly recommend dropping by this store if you are in the area.

Everyone here is so friendly! I come almost every day, and they have my order memorized! It makes me feel special and my coffee comes out nice and quick. Parking is a pain though so be prepared to not find any. Worst times to try and find parking is around 3:30-4pm

I came here for a meeting and ordered a typical drink like Cafe Mocha. It's the same like all Starbucks locations. Same products and same service. Nothing spectacular. It is very crowded on a Friday afternoon. I had my meeting here to demonstrate something on my computer. WIFI is very weak at the time we came in. Who knows might be just the day it was sluggish. Overall it's an okay Starbucks.

It's official... I think I've lost it. I had to think really hard to remember when I went to Starbucks on this visit. This is the Starbucks inside the Safeway. Got a pretty good iced coffee that they added sugar and cream to and the barista was nice. The real estate is in prime tourist-ville so this Safeway is immaculate. All in all, a good experience, just not particularly memorable.

  • Terinna R.

Their barista's are super friendly and funny, what a Starbuck's barista should be like. Plus they don't give off the, "are you done ordering yet" vibe which is a plus if you're undeceive sometimes. Their quick and good at what they do. Seating problems? EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHERS COME HERE! How unfortunate that within a 8 mile radius of the largest college campus, they're the only one. WTF? Someone open more! Add more tables so more of us can study here!!! Please!?

I have been coming to this Starbucks most mornings for the last couple of years. With 2 year old twins starting the day with plenty of caffeine is a must! This location has the friendliest staff and the drinks are always done well; it doesn't matter if I come at 4AM or 7AM the service is always great.

Still my fav Starbucks in town - and now it's become a regular study spot. Here's my study spot review: - good amount of tables/chairs - lighting is spotty, but if you're on your laptop/iPad, I guess it doesn't matter - but if you're reading the paper or your book, you might need a mini-light - music is normal coffee shop stuff - high traffic Starbucks, so if you like crowds, you might try another spot - excellent drink/food options (duh, main reason I go!) - cranberry bliss bar & soy toffee nut latte please....except this one time they ran out of muffins, a lady went, let's just say, kookoo lol (she apologized later for forgetting to take her meds = true story) - wi-fi is hit or miss....if you are a person who relies on technology (like me), slow, spotty Internet can be so annoying. (I know, I know, it's free, why am I complaining) - their bathroom is not the cleanest, so if you know me (germophobe), you may want to do your best to hold it. it's not the workers' fault, it's the gross patrons most of the time - outlets galore - THANK YOU Starbucks - there are some outside seats/tables, so that's a definite plus - Parking - also very hit/miss...if it's crowded, you might have to move along and find a different place to go since there's a Jamba, Kozo Sushi, Sun Splash Tans, Tenkaippin, music shop, upstairs facial salon, etc. that share a maybe 20-30 spot lot All in all, if can find a parking, find a table, and hold your pee, this is a great study spot...meet you there!

This Starbucks is located next to Kozo Sushi and Jamba Juice on Kapahulu, across the street from Jack's. I like going to this location because it's one of the closest Starbucks to my residence AND because parking is pretty easy. The parking lot is a bit small, but it works bc I always find parking right away. (*Knock on wood.) I've never had to wait more than a minute or two for my drink (iced latte) after I've ordered, which is nice. An iced latte is about as simple as it can get for specialty coffee, so quick production is expected. (I worked at Starbucks for nearly 7 years, so I'm a bit of a Starbucks coffee snob...) A latte consists of espresso, steamed milk, and a dollop of foam; the iced version is made with espresso, cold milk, and ice, sans the foam. Simple, right? Another thing I appreciate about this location is its cleanliness. I always see at least one barista cleaning up something while I'm in line or waiting for my beverage. The condiment bar is always neatly stocked, the floor is clean, and the tables appear to be crumb-free! I will continue to frequent this Starbucks unless I move or another Starbucks is built closer to my home. Yelp 365 - #109/365

Following a mediocre and disappointing lunch from Good to Grill in the parking lot, other end, Stephen and I both had a Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino® Blended Crème drink. While I am not a fan of Starbuck's in the first place, he convinced me to get one... (kind of hard to turn down when someone else is treating). Anyway, my first sip was good and the entire drink was somewhat refreshing, but about 30 minutes afterwards I felt the need to brush my teeth as the sugar had coated them, makin my teeth feel like they were wearing sweaters. Next hour... look out. We both had the same stomach issues. Thank goodness we had gone home and had a nearby bathroom... This was not an experience I'd wish to repeat.

One of my usual quickie in-n-out coffee stops. Obviously Startbucks has perfected their coffee making and it pretty much tastes the same where ever you go. I tried something different from my usual, which is a Caramel Macchiato. Instead, I had a Iced Soy Latte! My new Favorite. I am ANTI-MILK. If anyone is reading this... STOP DRINKING/EATING DAIRY PRODUCTS!!!! IM WARNING YOU! Staff there.. pretty friendly, but not overly friendly. There is a bathroom and a good amount of seats. I think there are about 20 seats :) AND free WIFI now! AWESOME! PARKING: not the best. Peek hours, parking can get a little crazy :(

Kapahulu Starbucks is by far my favorite Starbucks! The barista's are all really cool and really nice! I'm not too much of a hot coffee drinker, especially during the summer. But the main reason why I love this Starbucks is that their the only Starbucks who knows how to make secret frappuccinos! My favorite secret frap is probably the oreo frappuccino (which doesn't use any oreos to make). If I ever feel like drinking something hot I like the white hot chocolate, which is a nice change from the regular one. If you order a secret frap DO NOT get the captain crunch one! The name itself sounds disgusting as it is! One day I told the barista (Richard) to "surprise me" and bleh...it was like someone ate captain crunch and spit it in a cup and mixed ice! Oh and the parking is tight! It's a shared parking lot between sun splash tanning, jamba, kozo, and tenkaippin. So don't be surprised if there's no parking!

I like this location for Starbucks in Kapahulu, although it can be better served on Kapiolani Blvd. Right next to the Jack in the Box, where you can get your morning Starbucks brew and go across the street for your fast food breakfast fix. You can't lose with that. The staff is always friendly, (as Starbucks go). And the ambiance is Starbuck-riffic!! The layout of the store isn't that big, but there are tables and chairs to sit down and relax after a hard day of work or at play. The parking lot in back can get tight from time to time, but that's ok. It moves quicker than you expect it to be. I haven't been here during the weekdays, since I do my Starbucking in downtown, but I do come to this one from time to time, whenever I am in Kapahulu.

I like this Starbucks because it's cozy and great for studying at night. They have adequate parking in the back and enough tables to find a spot for 1. Not recommended for big groups, rather a 2-3 person spot. It has a nice view during the day and not too crowded at night. To me all the drinks taste the same at any Starbucks, so I am really just reviewing the venue.

The only people who've never heard of Starbucks must live under a rock... They're everywhere and they're open pretty much all the time. The thing I love about this company is the fact that they seem to train their employees really well. Whether I'm in Hawaii or SF or Vegas, they consistently provide quick service well. Anyone standing in line may be extremely grouchy at any given moment (I'm speaking for myself because I need my coffee before I can be nice haha) but the cashiers handle everybody with a smile and I really appreciate that. If you haven't enrolled in their card program yet, GET ON IT! You basically earn a free drink after 12 purchases and they have freebies every now and then. Just another customer service program that awards loyal customers :) Quick Tip: a lot of their seasonal drinks can be made to order even if they take it off the menu. Just order with a smile...my fave: Mocha Coconut Frapp with soy, No whip!

  • Natalie P.

The service at this Starbucks location is not the best, I find 2 of their front employees to be very rude. The first time I went there the cashier was very condescending and the second time a different cashier was very unfriendly and proceeding to messing up my drink order. When I told her she had screwed up my order she questioned me, made me a new drink and with an attitute almost threw it on the ledge. Although this Starbucks is really close to my place I refuse to go back there, I would rather go to the one in Safeway!

  • Crissy K.

SO much better than the Kahala store. The employees are nice, they work fast and they know how to make drinks correctly. They seem to keep their inventory updated, as I've never heard them say they can't make anything. There's a lot of space, and you can enter/exit from/to either the parking lot walkway or the street. The only thing that really bites is the parking. The stalls are way too narrow, and there are far too few of them. I've had to give up on going there a couple of times because I just couldn't find anywhere to put my car.

We come to this Starbucks only sometimes nowadays. It is located at Kapahulu next to Kozo Sushi. Before or after visiting Kapiolani Park, we used to get a drink. This location is busy. We did not like the parking. 3.5 Stars. YELP 365 - 182/365

  • Joann Y.

I was only dissatisfied with the way my drink looked when I received it. It was SO small. I don't know if it was just the whipped cream but it looked rather small compared to the drinks at other Starbucks. Other than that, they have very nice service and a friendly atmosphere. I'll probably give this place another try because everyone is raving about it.

    (3)
  • Blue S.

Hands down, the best customer service at any Starbucks in Hawaii, or for that fact, anywhere I travel! This location is busy, but you don't ever feel rushed. The baristas take the time make suggestions if you want something other than your usual or look like you are having a hard time deciding what you want. Starbucks Kapahulu, you da best!

  • Tamra P.

Love this location, the staff is always friendly....and props to that chick w/ the glittery eye makeup that opens. Nothing like peppy energy and glitter eye makeup at 6am. Love it! Parking can be super annoying and you can't always find a table to work on but I guess that's a sign of a popular location! Drinks have always come out tasting up to standards and I'm SUPER picky about my Starbucks.

  • R M.

Starbucks coffee is better than instant coffee but is too bitter/burnt tasting for me. One independent coffee roaster told me Starbucks always roasts it beans too long and that is why it is bitter. Adding lots of milk and coca helps the taste but generally the smaller coffee roasters, such as Lion is better.

One of the closest Starbucks outside Waikiki. As you enter, the first thing you may notice is the immensity of the cold. I have yet to find the warmer spot in this location. Regulars seem to bring thicker sweaters and hoodies. Literally, spend over an hour here and your fingers will hurt a little. Dress appropriately! Perhaps avoid flip-flop slippers as well. Service here is friendly, and they recognize the regulars. They are friendly and not abrasive. Seating isn't as wide-spread or plentiful as other locations, so during college season, you'll be hard pressed to get a seat during optimal hours. I'd say after 6 p.m., you better hope a friend has held you a seat. Off season, it's not as bad at all; you'll always find a seat. An added option is the seating outside meant for the Kozo sushi and Jamba Juice mixed customers'. Obviously, it's outside, so the weather is temperate. Just, don't expect to find a plethora of electric sockets while sitting on these metal chairs and seats. This isn't a tourist destination, yet a lot of people walk by to reach the nearby restaurants; there's even steady traffic of runners outside, too. People watching is still entertaining, regardless. There is a very tightly packed parking lot on the Jamba Juice side. Speaking of which, I have no idea how many nearby locations are 'borrowing' the internet at this location, but don't expect quick browsing or huge online explorations. It's slow. Maybe 2-out-of-5 bars, which is my sad point. There are public toilets! Also, the prices seem cheaper than Waikiki, but I may be hallucinating.

I would consider this my "home" Starbucks when I'm back home in the islands. The baristas here are super friendly and welcoming (but you can argue that, in general, Hawaii people are much more friendly and welcoming than the mainlanders). While it can get busy at times, what Starbucks doesn't as people need their morning caffeine fix. The tables can fill quickly, but there is also outdoor seating to enjoy the fresh Hawaii air. It's great that Kozo sushi, Jamba, and Jack's are all within 100 feet (if not closer), this can make parking difficult...and often times, people can't stay within the parking lines... They even walk around and provide samples of their pastries and drinks every s often...i'm enjoying my sample pumpkin spice latte while using their free wi-fi to write this review.

Me: "I'll have a Ghetto Latte, please." Employee: "What?" Me: "You know, a Ghetto Latte." Employee: "Are you kidding me?" Me: "Of course. I'll have my usual." For those of you who don't know, a Ghetto Latte (aka bootleg latte) is made by ordering a shot of espresso and half ice in a venti (ex large) cup. You then walk over to the condiment station and fill the rest of the cup with your choice of milk. Voila, an iced cafe latte for about 1/2 the price. Disclaimer: I have never done this, and I don't advocate doing this in any way, shape, or form. My usual is a venti, 2%, no whip, hot mocha.

Since i've become an avid starbucks drinker 2 months ago , this has been my go to place. They always are very helpful and friendly and its usually a in and out thing for me. Parking sucks (just like 85% of the places in Honolulu) so i tend to go very early or very late here.

  • Sara T.

I like to come here to study/write papers. The service and quality of food/drinks is standard, but it's not as big and doesn't have as many chairs/tables as other Starbucks locations, so it can get crowded/competitive for outlets. The bathroom is clean and well-kept. The parking is horrible at peak hours, but I try not to go during these times, so I usually don't have too much of a problem. Bonus points for being next to Kozo - so I can pop in and grab a snack when I need a break from studying.

Being a caffeine junky, Starbucks has become a dear friend of mine. The fact that this Starbucks is located within walking distance of my home makes it an even dearer friend. My favorite drugs of choice - caramel macchiato, iced strawberry black tea, caramel brulee latte (seasonal). The baristas here are always very friendly. I've witnessed them keep their cool when dealing with rude customers. NOTE TO PATRONS: When the line is running 7 people deep, don't expect to get your extra hot, half caff, skinny, 2 pump caramel, 3 1/2 pump vanilla latter immediately upon ordering...They're baristas, not magical Starbucks elves for God's sake. Cut them some slack. There are a decent amount of tables inside & outside, which made this one of my favorite spots to study at while I was in grad school. On the other hand, a lot of others know it's a great place to study too, which can make it a bit crowded at times. The outside tables are shared by patrons of Jamba Juice & Kozo Sushi, which can add to the crowd. This leads me to the crappy aspect of this Starbucks. The parking lot SUCKS...Unless you drive a Civic, Corolla, or similarly small car. The spaces are pretty tight. I drive a crossover & have a horrible habit of parking crooked, which adds insult to injury. Hence, I often choose to walk the few blocks down from my home with my daughter when I need to get my caffeine fix. Good drinks, friendly workers, space to study/work/hang out...Oh, & what? You drive a Prius? This is the place for you.

Thank you Kapahulu Starbucks for your convenient location. You are close to both Tenkaippen, Safeway, Burgers on the Edge and Waiola's. Your baristas that work T/Th from 3-5 are on it. The street bustle of Kapahulu makes for a good study background. The only thing I hate is your parking lot. It sucks. There's hardly parking. But otherwise, you're bomb. Especially that one time I got a hot choco on the house.

it's a hit or miss whenever I come here...service usually fast or extremely slow. workers are either very cheerful or let's just say they didn't get their sbux fix that morning! Most recent negative encounter was when they messed up my order...instead of apologizing the Barista lady told me "oh well we usually don't make it stirred unless it's upon request" um yah I believe I told the cashier I wanted my iced skinny caramel machiatto STIRRED! - 1 star taken away due to the fact she did not apologize and she tried to correct my own order...

What nobody has said yet because they probably do not know you can't get Kona at any Starbucks in the lower 48. So the fact that you can get Starbucks Kona to me is amazing! We didn't have an issue with parking but we are from NYC we know all the tricks :)! Kona coffee in Hawaii, can't beat it!

Rating: 4/5 (There's always room for improvement...and parking is one of them) Date(s) visited: 11/10/2010, many times before this. Food & Drinks: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Parking: 2/5 I always look forward to having my favorite cup of "Joe" at any Starbucks. But this particular one is hard to find parking. It's kind of like a foot-traffic kinda place. If you find parking at this shop, you are lucky. If I didn't find one today, I would have probably -1 star just for that, but I did. Other Starbucks' I've reviewed: -off of Kalakaua & Kapahulu (Corner across from beach): 4/5 -off of Kamakee St. & Auahi St. (Ward Theater): 4/5 yelp.com/user_details_re… Food & Drinks: Good. Service: Friendly staff. Atmosphere: Typical Starbucks. Modern. This one is kinda small. Price: Ok Parking: This shop shares parking with 4 or more venders. There is street parking off Kapahulu.

Well, this Starbucks has yet to let me down, and that's saying something since I've bought my coffee here for two years straight. I'm a big fan of their morning crew, I don't know if they reserve they A-team for when it's busy, but everytime I drop by its "in and out" service for me. In fact the only wait is the line, which still moves quickly. Quick tip: if there is no parking and you're gonna grab-n-go you can steal a stall over at Jack in the Box. Like always, park at your own risk, though its an option to consider.

Coffee fix :)... I got my ultimate favorite. A tall caramel macchiato. The line was super long when we got there. There was about 15 people when we got in line. But no big deal. It's in Waikiki...filled with tourist. We got our drink pretty fast though. This starbucks is cool if you are around the area...maybe after or before the zoo, the beach, the park, etc. The ONLY thing...PARKING. it can be a b-yatch.

Best Starbucks ever! Staff is always friendly and the wait is never long. Plus its so close to my house. Come here about four times a week on average (expensive habit I've got!).

    (5)
  • Nate K.

The staff is nice and the place is good sized, but it often gets crowded. That's a big problem if the parking lot fills up (which is often), or if you need to use an electric outlet. There is seating outside, but there's no electricity out there and it's also where the smokers tend to have their coffee, too. They're right next door to a Kozo Sushi and they don't seem to mind if people bring in outside food (provided it's not overwhelming, I guess), so if you've got to study or read or something and you're in it for the long haul, the Kapahulu Starbucks is pretty good.

I love Starbucks....don't get me wrong, but certain locations are better in service. Stopped by Kapahulu because we wanted to get our coffee fix and driving in the area. I've been here before on numerous occassions, especially when I lived nearby, and the service is fine. However, today's visit wasn't on par. The cashier was quite sassy and snappy. Tried to order my second favorite drink, a caramel macchiato frappucino, and she rudely snapped at me and said they don't make that particular drink and went on to tell me like I was not educated on my Starbucks that there's a caramel frappucino.....duh. Maybe she should be educated on her knowledge of starbucks drinks (i've ordered that drink at several other locations with no problems). Anyway, this will not deter me from my Starbucks addiction....but must say prefer the Kahala crew hands down!

Everyone loves Starbucks including myself. This particular Starbucks is near home so you can imagine how often I go here. Rather than leave a review about how great the place is, I only have one bad thing to say and that is PARKING SUCKS (_!_) ok. Because parking is always full this creates a traffic jam crossing Kapahulu. I'm sure someone did a survey and stamped it "i don't give a shit" which is why they were allowed to be there and next to a Jamba Juice no less... go figure that huh?

    (4)
  • Jeff W.

Been here several times during my current stay in Waikiki and the line is always long whether it is 6 am or 3 in the afternoon. The line did move rather quickly, however, and the service was friendly.

There are several Starbucks in my area. And I've been to all of them at least 5 times within the past year. Kapahulu is THE favorite. Quality products with quality service and you can't go wrong. My daughter has spilled her drinks here and staff go out of their way to clean it, eventhough I plead to let me do the dirty work. On both occassions, staff made my daughter a second drink without hesitation and went even further to comfort her to be happy. I ALWAYS am greeted with a smile (unlike the other Starbucks on the same street) and I never get yucky leftover pastries from the day before (like another Starbucks closer to walmart....eeeeewww). I don't question myself to leave a tip here. Thanks to the manager for trusting this establishment in angelic hands.
