Watered down coffee, miserable cashier, and NO bathroom? I'll go to 7-11 next time.

The morning crew is awesome and very friendly! They make your order to your specs and verify with you before the order is given to the baristas for completion. However, the afternoon crew is in complete contrast finalizing your order before you even pay. When your drink is ready and not what you wanted, attitude is given to the customer. Last time I checked, great customer service keeps the customer. If I wanted poor service and speedy service, I'd go to McDonalds for coffee.

I'm actually writing this review in this Starbucks, but that didn't affect my rating. Likes: The workers are really quick and efficient (except when there's a new person) and they get to know the regulars, like any good Starbucks. Dislikes: Seating is limited, but it's in a convenient location. There are two Starbucks within one block of this one with more seating if you need it. Don't be daunted if the line is long; it goes by quickly here.

They made my iced caramel macchiato different from the other location. I dont think it's bad, I just prefer it the other way which made the taste better. Anyway, drinks are expensive, so I guess it's a blessing in disguise. I thought I could start being a regular customer but makes no sense now. I'll definitely return for the passion fruit lemonade tea which is my initial favorite. That drink is a guarantee thirst quencher. But, it's only on occasion I'll crave the tea drink. The service is always consistent with all locations, so that's a plus. Oh and the cran/orange scone was great!

The best Starbucks I've been to, hands down...and I'm from California where there are 5 on every block. All the baristas are incredibly friendly, and super fast, even during their busiest hours. Josh made my drink twice while I was there and he was the sweetest guy! He even made a latte art heart. But my favorite barista was Lauren, she's a peach! There's a few Starbucks in that area, but trust me, go to this one, you wont be disappointed.

One Caucasian man and one Caucasian women was working. Not a exactly a reflection of the local population but maybe the owner is also Caucasian or maybe most of the customers are. If you walk into a Chinese restaurant you would see 10 Chinese waitresses, so I guess it happens. I bought the large cappuccino. It was not fully filled. I would guess the top 25 percent was empty if you don't count foam. About 1/3 empty if you consider that the top of the cup has a greater volume than the bottom. Tasted kind of weak in my opinion. Nothing special. Tasted like regular coffee. Kind of expensive I think for something costing more than four dollars.

I was in the downtown area to pick up a pair of Incubus tickets that I won from donating blood last week so my friend and I decided to stop in at a nearby Starbucks for a drink. This Starbucks is conveniently located close to King and Bishop Street. What sets it apart from other Starbucks in this area is that there is ample outdoor seating either in the sun or under big umbrellas. I got a fruit cup for about $4 that had cut up strawberries, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and pineapple. It was a nice snack and probably the healthiest thing I had all day. Of course being in the downtown area there is no validated parking and the nearest municipal parking is about two blocks away. Staff is friendly and efficient as always. Recommended as a grab-and-go or a loungin place.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the Starbucks next to my office, but when they were closed on President's Day (and I wasn't), I needed a caffeine fix to get me through work and the FOMO that came with everyone else (including my Starbucks) having the day off. This Starbucks, located on Bishop Street next to 24 Hour Fitness, poured my coffee and stole my heart! While I'm sure this Starbucks sees its fair share of crowds on a typical morning, there were just a few people in line on President's Day. As soon as I got to the front, a friendly barista welcomed me and asked for my order. Her energy and happiness instantly lifted my spirits! She even drew a smile-y face next to my name on my cup. :) Every employee working that morning had a smile on, even as they were busy ringing up customers or making drinks. I realized that if the Starbucks baristas who also had to work on President's Day could be happy, why couldn't I! You can't have a bad day when your morning starts with Starbucks coffee and cheerful, friendly baristas!

Now serving Christmas blend! The line is usually crazy in the mornings... Be sure to be patient and check out the mug wall... They are probably tied for friendliest downtown Starbucks with Alakea.

Really had a bad experience at Starbucks today. I ordered a Venti Black Tea Lemonade, paid for it and then the Barista said they're out of lemonade. So I switched to Black Tea Hibiscus. What bummed me out was that my Black Tea Hibiscus was just half-full. Didn't go back to complain coz I'm pissed!

I'm not a regular coffee drinker BUT if I had to choose a location this would be it. I don't know why it is always calm, inviting and calm but let's keep it that way! The lines are always reasonable, it only seems to be frequented by the calmer coffee drinkers in the downtown area. It is always clean, or being cleaned! In conclusion, stay away unless you are calm and friendly. Actually even if you are calm and friendly stay away so I don't stop being any of these things...

This starbucks is the run of the mill starbucks like others. The waitresses are pretty and they smile, the ambience was pleasant. I will definitely be back here. There is nothing here that makes this coffee shop stand up from others like it.

Even when they are super busy, they are always on top of everything and still make time for their customers - and always with a smile. They are awesome!

Hmmm, I don't really know how to review a Starbucks, especially one in Downtown because I don't spend much time there except to get my morning/afternoon coffee fix but here goes... The Good: -Friendly baristas -Usually fast, even during the rush times -Well made & mixed drinks -The convenience of not having to carry cash & use my iPhone to pay -Right down the street from my office The Bad: -Some of the better baristas that know my orders have rotated out... Such is life -It gets busy during the rush times -It's kinda addicting(ok, this isn't necessarily bad but I could drink less coffee too! lol) So basically I like going here when I want a quick coffee fix & need to stretch my legs. As I mentioned, it's down the street from my office, so it makes a good diversion when a break is needed. Being able to pay using the mobile app & not carry cash is a plus too. Is the coffee great? No, it's good enough & I know what to expect so that's always a good thing. So if you work in or around Downtown Honolulu & are in need of a caffeine fix, you can't go wrong here. Not the best but certainly not the worst place to go!

As a tax accountant, my Starbucks coffee is a staple throughout tax season as much as my computer and my adding machine are. Needless to say, the Starbucks crew at this location saw me on a daily basis before I started my work day and usually at 2 or 3 pm if I needed a pick me up. The crew at this location has been consistent not only with the quality of my drinks, but also with the outstanding service they provide. They knew my drink order and my name and they would start making my drink as soon as I stepped into the store. They would always make a little small talk and their positive, always-helpful attitude really helped set me up for a good day at work and helped to wake me up at 5 am. Even now, when I go in at 7 in the morning and the line is literally out the door, the workers are still smiling. They still try to make small talk when they can and are usually efficient in getting the drinks and food out so we are not waiting too long. I appreciate that sense of urgency while providing a quality experience. If you are ever in downtown Honolulu, I highly recommend visiting this Starbucks.

Just after a few visits, they started to memorize my face lol. Great place with really good customer service and such convenience too. It's really close to my office so I get my morning tea before work. Beside the awesome memory, their service is really quick. A line wraps in the small space but it goes by so quickly! I can see why people like this Starbucks in particular. The only recommendation I have is to have your gold card, cash, or card app prepped by the time you reach the counter. That way your time there will be super fast. Keep up the good work workers at Starbucks!

I normally don't write reviews for Starbucks, or any coffee chains for that matter, but the staff here is awesome. They are always so friendly and smiley. This is a nice thing to see first thing in the morning! There is pretty much always a line whenever I come, but they move fast. Not just taking orders either. Drinks come out damn fast, too. And come to think of it, I don't think I've had a bad drink from here yet. Usually other Starbucks can fudge drinks every now and then (too strong, too sweet, etc.), but surprisingly, not here! Thank you for starting our mornings right!

Went to this Starbucks location very quickly with a friend during her lunch break. I ordered a grande Ginger Ale as they have added sodas to their menu. I also ordered the turkey pesto melt. The line moved quickly, there was almost no wait and that was very fantastic. 1 star for that. The drinks and food came out very quickly no real wait, practically as soon as I ordered it was ready. 1 star for that. The drink was delicious, so was the pesto melt. I loved it. 1 star for that. It would be a 5 star experience except for the extremely rude man who gave out the food. He handed me my sandwich and said thank you with a nice smile. No complaints there, I liked it! I smiled and told him that I still waiting for drinks, just in case he wasn't aware since there were more than 2 people working. His response to me was that "he was only saying (curse) thank you, God!" And proceeded to literally throw his ice scooper into its shelf so forcefully that it dropped the entire shelf over and knocked things to the ground. I understand that it can be difficult to work at Starbucks, customers aren't usually very patient, or nice, but to me, there is no excuse to swear and throw things around unless I'm yelling at you and throwing things around as well. I think he had a rough day before I got there but there is no excuse for such poor customer service. I would have given this location 5 stars bit that experience has turned me off from probably ever returning.

This Starbucks has a friendly mood that's almost chatty. Easy to strike up a convo with people line or the baristas. The downside is it's can be a bit noisy. It's also a small location with few chairs inside but lots of outdoor seating. Great place to talk story but not a good atmosphere to get work done.

  • Erica W.

This is the only starbucks I frequent in the downtown area. The employees are friendly, always remembers my order, and who can forget Lucy? My drink is always made in a timely matter, seriously the only time I wait more than 3 - 5 minutes is when there are a gazillion people ahead of me. Which you have 1 in 100,000 chance of happening (but don't quote me on this statistic). Oh, I can count on one hand how many times the barista made a mistake on my drink. That is how good they are.

The Great Aloha Run bus dropped us off somewhere near the edge of the Earth at 4:30 am. Downtown Honolulu is as foreign to me as a jalapeno is to the North Pole. Then people started walking toward the staging areas on Bishop street. Suddenly I saw the sign: Starbucks Coffee I wasn't planning on Starbucks, but why not? I still had over 2 hours to kill. Plus it was windy cold ass that morning. In Alaska. They open at 5 am. I know this because I was one of those lonely souls freezing outside their door that morning. For being there so early in the morning and seeing us crazy runners waiting, the two employees working were fast and friendly! Thanks for the great service! 4 stars only because there is no customer restroom at this teeny-tiny location. Yay for GAR portapotties, haha! I forgive you Starbucks for all those times you messed up my order. Thank you for being that familiar face in an unfamiliar place. And thanks for refueling me with a toasty coffee and banana before my run!

Awesome service all around at this location. Look for baristas Richard, Ash, and Kai to make your experience unforgettable. It's not the coffee that perks you up here; it's the service.

The employees at this starbucks are not at all knowledgeable about their product. I asked if the hibiscus drink had any sugar in it, and they said no. The drink they served was SO sugary it tastes like koolaid - and is completely undrinkable.

All the baristas that are there in the morning, despite it being 6am or earlier are always so very friendly and ready to make your favorite drink! If you are a regular, and you don't deviate from your usual they will almost have your drink ready for by the time you get to the counter to order it. They are awesome, one of my favorite Starbucks on the planet, and that's saying a lot. #coffeeaddictionisarealthing

The workers are very friendly. The lines can get very long at different times throughout the day. They usually get the orders correctly. It is rare that it is wrong. There's no parking, but then again it is downtown so there's never any parking. It's perfect for university students and those who work in town.

When there are so many choices within a short walk of your office, one ultimately has to try them all and figure out which Starbucks is the best for you? Working within a block's walk of three is just a rarity and you definitely need to figure out which. Well based on my scientific analysis involving standing in line, the Bishop Starbucks is definitely the one I tend to frequent during busy peak times. Starbucks are starbucks, no matter which one you go to. They are designed to create the same experience and drink no matter which location you go to. It is about having a consistent experience no matter if you go to one 3,768 miles away or one 200 feet away. So on that basis, you know what you are going to get. Reason I give this particular location four stars? Well I don't hate Starbucks and when the need for coffee or a quick bite arises, you can bet I'll be at this location. The staff here are particularly friendly and efficient. While lines may be quick to form, they keep them moving so that you can get your fix and be on your way. So that being said...when you become the Hulk instead of Dr. Bruce Bannister. Or just when you think you can't handle anymore, head on over for that cup of coffee. It might just be your saving grace.

The closest Starbucks to campus. The workers are nice and try to get to know the customers. They even draw little pictures on cups. I dread it when there's a long line and sometime they can be slow but if one really wants their Starbucks they will get it no matter what. Ha ha. Today, I tried their tea. Not impressed. I could get a bigger and better beverage at Longs or 711 for a cheaper price. I do not recommend spending money on the Black Tazo Tea drink. It took a sip and I was disappointed.

I come here daily. I have to say that the staff here is always awesome!! As soon as I walk through that door, they start to make my drink!! I actually like to start my day off by stopping by here since they are all so awesome!!

I just love this starbucks! I'm not a coffee person, but I gottah have their Mocha Frap. or Passion Ice Tea at least 2 twice a week. Although the line can get a bit crazy, the cashier's are pretty fast. But, I would advise you to go in the morning around 7ish (no line) or after lunch around 12:30ish (hardly anyone). This Starbucks is one of my favorites to go to =)!

Such a low rating for this Starbucks, I dont order anything overly intricate so I guess Im easy to please, but this location has saved my life on a many occasions. Often times I stop by here before work, or before a cardio session at the gym which is right around the corner so the fact that Bishop Starbucks is smack dab in the center of my little universe is pivotal. Service here has always been good to me, friendly and quick. I always order the Americano with 2 extra shots and that one guy there is nice enough to give me the two extra shots for free which I appreciate.

I would have to say that this Starbucks is my most frequented one in the Downtown area. Not only because it's smack-dab in the middle of everything, but the baristas are always so friendly. I will always remember Lucy because she always greets everyone with a wide smile and cheerful personality. She asks you personally how your day is going and she just makes the start of the day enjoyable. Such a sweetheart indeed. Everyone else is very courteous and the team certainly has their method down as far as shortening the line and quickly getting everyone's order in. Quick tips about this particular Starbucks: ~Because this Starbucks is in the middle of Downtown, it's convenient to just grab a drink and go. Therefore, there's not much tables or study area. There's one table inside, usually for customers with a disability and then there's a long table with stools to sit at. If not, there's several tables with umbrellas outside. ~Same reason as first, there's no restroom. ~Entire interior of this Starbucks is pretty small. Just a small walk-in area and then it gets cramped while waiting for your drink. Nonetheless, a very convenient Starbucks for workers and students alike. Now off to studying! *Bleh. #2/31 Yelp Challenge

My tall medium pikes roast was cold and tasted like the bottom of the coffee brewer. I had never had a bad one from the Starbucks a block over. I will stick to my usual Starbucks from now on.

Is the line always out the door when I arrive in the morning? Absolutely, and for good reason; this Starbucks is the cream of the crop when compared to their sister locations around the downtown area. They recently added a partition so the customers waiting to order can wrap around, verses cluttering the outside walkway (nice addition)! Seating: They have bar-style seats towards the back window and a couple of 2-top tables outside lining the walkway. There's also 4-top umbrella-covered tables clustered a few steps away, but I'm not quite sure if that's Starbucks seating. Bathroom: None (I think the closest public bathroom is in Jack in the Box) Service: I usually make 2 stops at this location: one before work and one during my lunch break, and I have to say, the morning team is without a doubt, the BEST! The lines are long---the longest I've ever experienced at a Starbucks, but I never wait more than a few minutes before they call my name and present me with my perfectly-made coffee which always comes with a happy face drawn next to my name (little things like that, skyrocket this Starbucks above the rest)! If you're in the area, don't let the long line deter you...this Starbucks is well worth the wait!

This Starbucks location is small, but good. Right in back of the 24 Hour Fitness, it's one of those downtown urban locations where you can get your morning brew to kick start your morning. Or if you prefer, kick start your happy hour with a frappuchino. The service is always top notch here an the coffee is perfect. Whether you are on the go or just someone who loves their coffee, Starbucks is the place to be. There are chairs and tables for patrons to sit down and chat, but there happens to be no outlets to plug in and play. That just bugs me, but at least I know that the Starbucks location off Merchant Street has electrical outlets and a spacious lounge to hang out and meditate, if need be.

I really don't understand how this Starbucks can pass off a 'grande' size as a 'venti' size. I bought a passion iced tea here and asked for the largest size which is a 'venti'. I then proceeded to get the long straw like I always do so it would fit into the cup. When I got the iced tea I noticed it was so much smaller, so I asked the guy. He said "yeah that's the largest size, a venti". I said well in California they're bigger. His response "yeah on the mainland it's larger". Anyway, I then went to another Starbucks in Kaneohe and they HAD the VENTI size in the large cup. What's up with that? I proceeded to email a friend of mine who works for the Starbucks head office in Seattle. She was perplexed and asked her staff to look into it. She then sent me some complimentary coupons to get more drinks there. O-K, sure that made me feel a little better until I had to PAY again for a Venti but only getting a Grande. At the time we left the island, that location was still serving them up grande while charging them venti.

They try to overcharge you for every little thing and the people who work here are rude. We've been going to Starbucks (many other locations) every day for the last year AT LEAST, so why is that the coffee HERE is always 50 cents more than anywhere else. Don't waste your time at this starbucks.

I don't usually do reviews on chains, but this Starbucks is commendable. I must say that I am not that into Starbucks. Instead, I prefer those neighborhood coffee shops where people read, do homework, and enjoy coffee that actually tastes unique. Instead of reviewing this place for their coffee, which probably wouldn't be the best review, I'm reviewing this place for their hospitality. Since I start work at 8am, I usually don't have much time to grab a cup of joe at a better coffee shop. As a result, I come here where their service is fast and i'm in and out the door in 5 minutes. In the morning, there is a woman working there (can't recall her name) who provides everyone with the nicest service anyone could ever ask for out of a barista. She greets you with a hello and always sounds enthusiastic that she's working so early in the morning, every morning. Such a small act of kindness brightens up my day. I get my grande pike place roast and sometimes a small snack on the side, and I'm on my way. THANK YOU NICE LADY

I work in Bishop Square so for me I have my choice Starbucks'. Bishop St. location or the one on Alakea. I used to go to the one on Alakea but after they gave me a weak a** coffee once, I have never been back. I'm sorry but weak coffee for me is a deal breaker. I'm glad I go to this one instead anyway. The workers are always very nice and fast. I really like the wraps too, especially the feta, egg white, and tomato one. Did I mention they can make thai iced coffee here? Am I the only one who didn't know that? Anyway, that fact alone gives them a 4 outta 5 stars as far as I'm concerned.

i have had it with this starbucks. i've been here a few times and each time they never failed to disappoint me. first experience, they made a loud and rude comment about my drink order. i ask for my drink to be lightly sweetened, was i asking for too much??? just pump that sugar container once or twice less, omg i'm actually saving you guys some effort! my last experience, they overcharged me. i wished i had more time to stick around to bitch the cashier out. i ordered a strawberry black tea, $1.85 for the tea, $.30 for the syrup. yeah, how did that equal $3.46. and the drink was all ice. over it! i must admit they make a really good black tea latte but that does not excuse them for the extremely poor customer service. phew, i feel better now :)

I am a Starbucks addict, so I've been to many on the island, but this one is THE BEST! The staff is fast, friendly, and have great memories! They are a routine part of my day! They are just awesome! They recommend new drinks to try, and add their own flare at times. What more can I say! They are the bomb!

I love this Starbucks, Jim and team are always super friendly while getting you in and out with hot or cold beverages served to perfection. I love that they give us new things to try and new suggestions each time. My favorite of the season is iced coffee with a splash of coconut syrup and a little 2%. Despite the crazy busy line that sometimes go out the door they dont miss a beat. Conveninece definetly 5 stars being right around the corner from my work. Jim great job and love your team!!!

Okay, since my last review, i noticed there was a new lady working in the mornings. She usually has her hair in pigtails and wears a flower in her ear. she always greets me with a smile, and it makes me smile (even when I'm having the worst morning). I still have to wait a long time for my drinks, but it's not so bad when i'm in a good mood. Just goes to show how far good service can go.

I thought coffee was coffee no matter where you get it. I was right. It's just that some places serve it better. When it comes to busy mornings and eventful days then walking into a shop with lines looking like Black Friday, I mimic that globally famous woman of our times and say out loud: 'I aint got time for dat!' This Bucks of Stars location, however, delivers the goods and hustles to get your caffeine fiend self out of the store and get it on with the time clock. Go here if you're here, if not, go here. Enjoy

In the nearly eight years that I've been working in Downtown Honolulu, I've only been to this one a handful of times (21 times, since I've been using Yelp). In contrast, I've gone to their other location right down the street almost 150 times. So you know how I feel about this place. If you don't, let me tell you that this location will fulfill your coffee fix, but you're going to wait a long, long time for it. All of the Starbucks in Downtown are busy, but I've never waited so long for things like at this one.

  • Henry S.

So for a Starbucks, the people working here were extremely pleasant and very patient. I couldn't decide what I felt like drinking and was being the type of customer I hate. But the cashier was very patient and didn't get upset that I was taking a long time. But to make it better (and earning that last star), the Barista was quick! My drink came up so fast, I barely walked from the cashier to the drink counter! I can see how they get so many comments about being efficient and move their long lines so quickly. And all done with a smile! Kudos!

  • Zar A.

The morning staff here work as if they get paid a million bucks! Long lines out the door every single morning! I don't know how they do it. The line stretches out the door sometimes... When I first started working in Downtown, I used to get turned off by the lines out the door every morning and would walk over the the Alakea location (1 block away). Soon, I found out how efficiently the staff were. From waiting outside the door, 5 minutes later and you will be the next one to the counter. The staff is very, very efficient and make drinks at an incredible speed. In addition, they remember every regular customer's drinks and have it made ready (usually) when the customer gets to the counter to pay. How incredible! That's a lot of customers! The only downsides to this location are: no bathrooms, no parking, very few tables and chairs. This location is obviously not a hangout spot. It's definitely for the business community to get their coffees or espressos and head to their offices to get some work done. Being so, we need our coffees and espresso made right away! In my opinion, this Starbucks location has accomplished their primary goal: efficiency. Good job Starbucks Bishop crew! They also just recently started opening half day on Saturdays and Sundays. Only Starbucks opened on weekends in Downtown... Great for me as I sometimes work weekends...

Out of all the starbucks in downtown, and that's about 3 of them. I like this one the best. Altho it is a tad tiny and if it gets crowded which is usually in the morning the line is out the door. But! the line goes by fast and most of the staff are on it and friendly. This one has limited seating inside more like a bar, but there is a lot of outdoor seating.

friendly and efficient morning crew.... and who can't appreciate being greeted by the "infamous" lucy?!?

This is the usual Starbucks I go to on the way in to work. The lines aren't usually that long, but even if they are, the really friendly service makes up for it. The crew knows my drink before I order it and greet me by name. One of their really employees, Lucy is especially good at it. By far this is def my fav Starbucks.

I love coming to this Starbucks location on Sundays! This is certainly part of my morning routine. When I visit this location I splurge and get a Frappuccino or Mocha depending on my mood. The employees at this location are always friendly and courteous. They don't quite greet me as family like the Sears Ala Moana location but give it time! I have noticed that the speed and quality of my drinks at this location is top notch. They always get my order right which is where my normal location lacks. I also like their options for seating. You can sit inside or outside which is nice because on a nice day who wouldn't want to catch some sun! Great job Starbucks on Bishop keep it up!

I feel like this is just a standard generic review about starbucks, and that's exactly what it is. All Starbucks are alike I feel. Decent service, pretty good drinks that you spent too much on, and a line that's pretty ridiculous especially when there's a local coffee shop right across the street. But they've got outdoor seating and red velvet whoopie pies.

Rating: 4/5 (There's always room for improvement) Date(s) visited: 6/30/2011, and a hand full of times. Emiko T. commented on 12/03/2010: yelp.com/us...starbucks "Since Starbucks' are all the same (across the nation, around the globe) I suppose that, what makes one Starbucks superior to another comes down to ultimately the layout of the cafe. Do they have space? Lots of tables? Couches and outlets for all those who "study" at cafes?" ************************************************** ************************** Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Parking: 2/5 This is one of the smallest Starbucks that I've been to in Hawaii. There's not much space and very few chairs. Drinks: Always a pleasure having a cup of Starbucks coffee in my hands. Service: Lucy puts the "Man" in "Woman." She is very sweet & kind. I will only have her ring me up. Atmosphere: An okay location. Little space. It could be better. Price: Pricey, but worth it. If it was any cheaper, I think the service and atmosphere would definitely go down. Parking: When I visit this location I'm usually taking TheBus, so I'm not sure about the parking. It's more catered to foot-traffic.

The baristas here are friendly and they make drinks really fast! Well, it depends on what kind of drink you're getting. As they ring you up, they're already mixing the drink and by the time you get your money out, the barista is putting the lid on your drink. I prefer going in the afternoons when it's less crowded. Try to avoid coming around 9AM because there's always a line.

The batistas here are soooo friendly, unlike some other Starbucks that I've been to. They make it a point to get to know you. And although there's usually a long line during the morning/early afternoon, I still prefer to go this Starbucks than the one down the street simply because of the friendly service that they have here.

I really like this Starbucks for the following reasons: 1) Convenient to the main buildings in Downtown 2) QUICK SERVICE - most of the time, my drink will come out before I've even finished paying. Most of the time I'm in a rush to get my coffee and get into the office - Honolulu Coffee Co., please take note :P 3) All the baristas (the morning crew at least) are really friendly. They always greet everyone and are very polite, without being too overbearing :P 4) One time I didn't hear them call my order, and so the guy came out and delivered my bagel to me personally. That was nice of him :)

I've found that I'm starting to like the Bishop St. Starbucks better than the other location I've been visiting -- about my only complaint is the foot traffic route gets to be a little congested when they're busy! Luckily I'm usually there at the butt-crack of dawn for my caffeine fix, so I don't have to fuss with the line. The staff is always friendly and I'm in and out without drama.

Starbucks - Bishop Street is one of the coffee shops I visit regularly due to its convenient location in Downtown Honolulu. However, the most recent visit left me feeling a bit turned off and disappointed. The lines here are normally long and almost out the door. If there isn't a line, you're in luck! On my recent visit last Friday, I ordered a tall coffee. As I went over to the condiment area to add in my cream, I realized the area was a mess! First of all, the trash bin wasn't in the compartment, rather, it was sitting out on the side. (How did I figure this out? By pouring out my extra coffee into the trash hole and suddenly realizing a slight splash on my feet!!! Good thing I was wearing covered shoes that day...). Secondly, there was no more half & half milk. I was considering to ask the staff for a re-fill, but I didn't want to wait, especially since it was already busy. Third, there were no more napkins! I was surprised to how disorganized and messy it was! I understand that there are always rushes where things may not be re-filled as quickly as they should, but this was definitely a bummer to me and I hope the staff can do a better job in keeping things functional in the future. Also, I understandably recognize that the small size of the shop with the high volume of customers makes it difficult to balance and adds to this problem. With this, let me say that I believe the majority of the staff are friendly, and genuinely nice people. I have never received a negative customer service experience here from a particular employee, but the functional and tangible aspects do need improvement. I would sum it up as an average Starbucks. Same drinks, same quality, convenient location, mediocre experience.

This starbucks is the run of the mill starbucks like others. The waitresses are pretty and they smile, the ambience was pleasant. I will definitely be back here. There is nothing here that makes this coffee shop stand up from others like it.

The workers are very friendly. The lines can get very long at different times throughout the day. They usually get the orders correctly. It is rare that it is wrong. There's no parking, but then again it is downtown so there's never any parking. It's perfect for university students and those who work in town.

  • Lauren S.

Enjoy

I will only have her ring me up. Atmosphere: An okay location. Little space. It could be better. Price: Pricey, but worth it.

And although there's usually a long line during the morning/early afternoon, I still prefer to go this Starbucks than the one down the street simply because of the friendly service that they have here.

i have had it with this starbucks. i've been here a few times and each time they never failed to disappoint me. first experience, they made a loud and rude comment about my drink order. i ask for my drink to be lightly sweetened, was i asking for too much??? just pump that sugar container once or twice less, omg i'm actually saving you guys some effort! my last experience, they overcharged me. i wished i had more time to stick around to bitch the cashier out. i ordered a strawberry black tea, $1.85 for the tea, $.30 for the syrup. yeah, how did that equal $3.46. and the drink was all ice. over it! i must admit they make a really good black tea latte but that does not excuse them for the extremely poor customer service. phew, i feel better now :)

I am a Starbucks addict, so I've been to many on the island, but this one is THE BEST! The staff is fast, friendly, and have great memories! They are a routine part of my day! They are just awesome! They recommend new drinks to try, and add their own flare at times. What more can I say! They are the bomb!

I've found that I'm starting to like the Bishop St. Starbucks better than the other location I've been visiting -- about my only complaint is the foot traffic route gets to be a little congested when they're busy!

Kudos!

Watered down coffee, miserable cashier, and NO bathroom? I'll go to 7-11 next time.

Kudos!

Super friendly service always with a smile every a.m. They are quick to get your drink complete. They memorize your drink in an instant. I like coming here, its a nice start to a great day.

Enjoy

My tall medium pikes roast was cold and tasted like the bottom of the coffee brewer. I had never had a bad one from the Starbucks a block over. I will stick to my usual Starbucks from now on.

My favorite sbux, hands down. They always remember my name, are friendly, and despite the fact that they are the busiest one downtown, are fast and efficient with the orders.

Nice area to sit outside and view the pedestrians walking past. pale's in comparison to European coffee spots, but the outdoor aspect and place to gander at people is not so bad.
